:01:11. > :01:16.that we live in, that we are enhancing the areas. You probably
:01:16. > :01:21.get out most days on the bike, running or climbing up here, and
:01:21. > :01:24.just a great reck Croatianal resource. We have never had the
:01:24. > :01:29.resours of a National Park and lottery money has allowed us to go
:01:29. > :01:34.out to schools, we have spoken to over 2,000 pupils, so we have been
:01:34. > :01:38.able to take the story of the landscape back into the towns and
:01:38. > :01:41.cities.. We have apprentices and volunteers and the smile on their

:03:42. > :03:45.time to see the final two projects in the Environment category, of
:03:45. > :03:54.this year's National Lottery award. First up is Harvest Brighton and
:03:54. > :03:56.Since harvest has started we have more than doubled the number of
:03:57. > :04:01.community vegetable gardens and we know that thousands of people are
:04:01. > :04:07.growing their own, through the training courses and volunteering
:04:07. > :04:11.opportunities. The share scheme, that is where we match people who
:04:11. > :04:17.have a garden who they are not using with someone who is looking
:04:17. > :04:25.for space to grow. We are both in soulless flats, if that is fair to
:04:25. > :04:29.say. With no garden. Discovered the scheme and we were matched up.
:04:29. > :04:35.know, having the opportunity to use the garden and to come in contact
:04:35. > :04:38.with nature, it is really, it makes a lot of difference for my life.
:04:38. > :04:44.Our demonstration vegetable garden is one of the biggest parks in
:04:44. > :04:49.Brighton and Hove, it is not a place you usually expect to see
:04:49. > :04:54.vegetables growing. It is to show people what they can grow. I was
:04:54. > :04:58.unemployed. It got me out. I met new people I got me working, a
:04:58. > :05:01.self-employed gardener. It has changed my life a lot. And the
:05:01. > :05:11.final project in the Environment category is community space
:05:11. > :05:11.
:05:11. > :05:14.Community space challenge is about young people aged 8-17. It is young
:05:14. > :05:18.people who are at risk of offending. It is about giving young people
:05:18. > :05:22.something positive to do. They learn skill, they will learn how to
:05:22. > :05:26.work as part of a team and more importantly how to interact with
:05:26. > :05:31.other people in their community. got involved in the project through
:05:31. > :05:35.a few of my friend, they were going to allotments and just seeing there
:05:35. > :05:41.was getting their hands dirty and I thought why not? I just haven't
:05:41. > :05:47.stopped since then. The project here has taken what was just a
:05:47. > :05:52.pretty untidy bit of Tarmac. They have created planting bed, they
:05:52. > :05:57.have replaced an unattractive wall with a mural. It is after
:05:57. > :06:01.officialing. This has helped turn my life round. It made me realise
:06:02. > :06:05.not all young people are bad. They can change themselves round. It is
:06:05. > :06:09.critical to get staff to care about the young people. The results are
:06:09. > :06:15.priceless. That is why we are grateful to the National Lottery
:06:16. > :06:20.for supporting this work. That is all three finalist, head on line,
:06:20. > :06:30.following the links to place your vote I means a lot to the projects.
