:00:00. > :00:16.Our penultimate show. Ricky Wilson will be here with
:00:17. > :00:23.Christina Marie and tonight my final singing lesson. Don't say I didn't
:00:24. > :00:32.warn you. You are watching The Voice, Louder on Two.
:00:33. > :00:35.Hello. Good evening. Welcome to The Voice: Louder on Two. Lively. Before
:00:36. > :00:40.we crack on, it is time for a chin wag just between the two of us in
:00:41. > :00:44.our daily gossip. Treat for you. Exclusive clip. While you would
:00:45. > :00:47.think the coaches and their acts would be buckling down ahead of
:00:48. > :00:54.Saturday's final. It seems there is time for a muck about on Team Kylie.
:00:55. > :01:08.# Oh, oh, oh... # You just carry on. Jamie, oh, Jamie.
:01:09. > :01:21.Oh, I'm never going to wash my hand again. Come on, Jamie.
:01:22. > :01:27.#... On fire... # That was the best thing ever. Lucky,
:01:28. > :01:31.lucky boy. So, that is your little gossip for today. Thank you very
:01:32. > :01:35.much. While we are all on tenterhooks as
:01:36. > :01:38.to what the outcome will be on Saturday, one man may already have
:01:39. > :01:42.an idea. We have reviewed the footage from back through the
:01:43. > :01:47.series. It seems, one of the coaches may have a special gift. Just the
:01:48. > :01:54.power of the suggestion. Very clever. Don't you feel like? Like,
:01:55. > :02:05.this spiritual or mystical thing? She got me. Say, come on, Tom. Come
:02:06. > :02:13.on, come on. # Scratch your ear, Will. What? No, your ear? My lip?
:02:14. > :02:20.No, my ear. Chin. Please, Will, scratch your ear. My neck? Not you,
:02:21. > :02:32.Tom. Gentleman I'm doing an impression of a horse. I give up. Oh
:02:33. > :02:37.my ear is itchy now. I had my hand on my temples, I was psychically
:02:38. > :02:44.receiving T I received it. I got a bunch of spam too. Give it up for
:02:45. > :02:53.the delightful Mr Ricky Wilson. I nearly called you Wicky Rilson.
:02:54. > :02:56.Nice work, Team Ricky on Saturday. You were worried about sharing the
:02:57. > :03:02.stage with Christina Marie and Chris. How did it go for you? OK. I
:03:03. > :03:10.made sure my riser was twice as high as theirs. I tried to get cut down
:03:11. > :03:14.in rehearsals. For the fist time you didn't have to make the decision. It
:03:15. > :03:19.was up to the public. Did that ease the pressure up? Not really. It was
:03:20. > :03:23.bitter sweet. I love them both. I knew I was going to have to say
:03:24. > :03:26.goodbye to one. I had that cloud over me. How anxious do you get
:03:27. > :03:31.waiting for them to come on? Do you relax at any point during their
:03:32. > :03:34.performances? I'm more relaxed than I thought I'd be because I trust in
:03:35. > :03:38.their voices totally. I know they can pull it off. I'm not worried at
:03:39. > :03:43.all about them singing, it is all about me. You have to do it again
:03:44. > :03:47.this weekend. Christina Marie faced the public vote for the first time
:03:48. > :03:53.and she did it. Why do you think people picked her over Chris? Why?
:03:54. > :03:58.Yes. Oh, if I dare think about what the British public would do, I
:03:59. > :04:01.wouldn't be doing this job, I would work at a bookies or something. I
:04:02. > :04:06.love the fact that they have their finalist on Team Ricky, it is the
:04:07. > :04:10.one they chose. It shows if you vote you get your way. It seems you have
:04:11. > :04:15.had a riot on The Voice, as predicted. They made me say that.
:04:16. > :04:20.How much can you remember from the show? I do like a quiz. We all love
:04:21. > :04:22.a quiz. Time now to take our favourite rocker coach on a coach
:04:23. > :04:35.trip down memory lane. Is that the coach? I'm in it. I'm
:04:36. > :04:39.driving. Will.i.am on the back seat being noughty. I will ask you loads
:04:40. > :04:45.of questions. See how you can get on with the answers. You ever driven a
:04:46. > :04:53.coach? Yes. On tour? Only in the car park. Did you do a 3-point turn. We
:04:54. > :05:01.have our own bus. Yes. Some people have planes. Is it like a Scoobie
:05:02. > :05:11.bus? No, but you can sleep on it. Invite us. Can we borrow it for a
:05:12. > :05:19.family holiday? We have our own duvet covers. Does it say Kaiser
:05:20. > :05:25.Chiefs. Mine is He-man. ! I feel like I'm wearing PJs now. It is
:05:26. > :05:32.baggy. I got embarrassed, you said I looked buff in my tight T-shirt. So
:05:33. > :05:38.I thought I'd wear something looser. Don't worry about me. It is all talk
:05:39. > :05:42.All scripted. Quus time. Out of 90 -- quiz time. Out of 90 blind
:05:43. > :05:49.audition, how many times did you turn? 31. Oh, I have some options.
:05:50. > :05:57.I'm not good at This change gear. You change gear. A22, 32, or 42. 32.
:05:58. > :06:01.You are right. I was nearly right. It was a guess. Look at that. Out of
:06:02. > :06:09.all the blind auditions, which act did you turn the quickest for? Anna
:06:10. > :06:15.McLuckie. An extra point for how many seconds? It wasn't that quick.
:06:16. > :06:19.I would say 12. 17. 56. It felt lake 1. One blind audition saw you
:06:20. > :06:25.transported back to childhood days, back seat with your brother
:06:26. > :06:33.listening to your parents' cassettes. What was the song?
:06:34. > :06:39.Country Rhodes. John Denver. What was the car? Probably a Ford Escort.
:06:40. > :06:44.We had a Ford Cortina. Flash. It was John Rafferty who sang that in the
:06:45. > :06:48.auditions. Auditions we were reminded last week of your fabulous
:06:49. > :06:52.way with words with your pitching. Not surprisingly, you didn't have a
:06:53. > :06:55.lot of luck with this one but can you remember who it was to. This is
:06:56. > :07:02.what you said, "We are going to go on days out, have matching T-shirts
:07:03. > :07:06.printed. Borrow Will's hovercraft." Is it someone in the final?
:07:07. > :07:11.Possibly. Jamie Johnson. You are good at this. This was more
:07:12. > :07:13.successful. Who was it to? "I'm still thinking about the voice I
:07:14. > :07:19.just heard and I'm thinking about the next time I'm going to hear it."
:07:20. > :07:25.Again and again and again, Christina Marie. It is. And one last question.
:07:26. > :07:30.OK. How many episodes of Midsummer murders have you watched? The thing
:07:31. > :07:34.is everyone seems like the same episode to me. I have watched a lot
:07:35. > :07:39.but always the same outcome. Is the right answer. Well done. And because
:07:40. > :07:43.you have been such a good bien didn't slip down the crack, we have
:07:44. > :07:46.a treat for you. It is a special acoustic performance from Chris we
:07:47. > :07:47.recorded earlier on in the week. Here he is with smile. It's
:07:48. > :08:04.beautiful. # Smile though your heart he aching
:08:05. > :08:09.# Smile even though it's breaking # When therer clouds in the sky
:08:10. > :08:17.# You'll get by # If you smile through your fear in
:08:18. > :08:25.sorrow # Smile and maybe tomorrow
:08:26. > :08:31.# You'll see the sun come shining through
:08:32. > :08:36.# For you # Light up your face with gladness
:08:37. > :08:47.# Hide every trace of sadness # although a tear may be ever so
:08:48. > :08:51.near # At the time you must keep on
:08:52. > :08:54.trying # Smile
:08:55. > :09:04.# What's the use of crying # You see the life, still worthwhile
:09:05. > :09:10.# All you've got to do is just smile # Now's the time you must keep on
:09:11. > :09:17.trying # Smile, what's the use of crying
:09:18. > :09:27.# You'll see that life, yes, it's all still worthwhile
:09:28. > :09:37.# if you just # Smile #
:09:38. > :09:41.APPLAUSE That is beautiful, isn't it? That
:09:42. > :09:46.little ending. You have a lovely big smile on your face. I do. OK, now
:09:47. > :09:49.with Chris no longer in the competition, Christina is the last
:09:50. > :09:54.woman standing for Team Ricky. Before she joins us, let's have a
:09:55. > :10:00.reminder of how she blew us all away on Saturday night.
:10:01. > :10:06.# I don't know why sometimes I cry... #.
:10:07. > :10:14.You are just phenomenal. You blow my mind. Is there anything you can't do
:10:15. > :10:23.Not only did you bang, bang them, you sliced, sliced them and ran out
:10:24. > :10:29.the ninjas. This show is called The Voice - and
:10:30. > :10:34.you just heard it. # You really got me now
:10:35. > :10:37.# You've got me so I don't know what I'm doing
:10:38. > :10:40.# Oh yeah, you really got me now # You got me so I can't sleep at
:10:41. > :10:45.night # You really got me... #
:10:46. > :10:54.The artist from Team Ricky with the most public votes is... It's
:10:55. > :11:01.Christina Marie. Please welcome Christina Marie.
:11:02. > :11:13.What are you two like gossiping about over there? Nothing. Naughty.
:11:14. > :11:22.I was just saying... Taking the mick out of me. How come Will gets the
:11:23. > :11:28.glass harmonica. You haven't seen what we have got lined you up for
:11:29. > :11:32.you. We have Morris dancers... Quick, get on the phone.
:11:33. > :11:37.Congratulations. Watching at home on Saturday you seemed calm before. I
:11:38. > :11:40.was a lot calmer than the quarter-finals, definitely. I think
:11:41. > :11:44.it was partly because I knew what to expect and partly because of the
:11:45. > :11:51.song I was sing singing, compared to some of the other ones, it was a
:11:52. > :11:57.strong, feminine song. I felt strong and feminine. So did I. You looked
:11:58. > :12:02.like it. Go easy on the mascara. What? What are you saying Daily
:12:03. > :12:07.Mail? You looked beautiful as ever. People
:12:08. > :12:12.online have gone crackers for you. Clary from Bristol says "Christina
:12:13. > :12:16.Marie sounds like Christina Aguilera, definitely a good thing.
:12:17. > :12:21.Incredible voice ""High praise, indeed. A massive comparison. Wow.
:12:22. > :12:25.Thank you very much Clary. Thank you.
:12:26. > :12:29.She sounds more like Christina Marie. Obviously she has strength
:12:30. > :12:32.and for somebody to hear that and say I have that strength, amazing.
:12:33. > :12:35.Thank you very much. She got it. You could argue that sometimes it is
:12:36. > :12:39.easy for the viewers at home to connect with a ballad or a torch
:12:40. > :12:44.song and this was a bit of a rock rift in a way, going that big -- a
:12:45. > :12:49.rockeriesk. But one you were willing to take. -- a rock risk. I wasn't
:12:50. > :12:52.going to risk anything with Christina. I wouldn't dare to. But
:12:53. > :12:56.you can play it safe every week and go for what I know will tug at the
:12:57. > :13:02.heart strings and pick up the phones. I thought it was a chance to
:13:03. > :13:07.see that bit of her that people fell in love with which she zl during
:13:08. > :13:12.Power of Love with Nathan. It was awesome. -- with which she did
:13:13. > :13:18.during Power of love. I don't want to win this with doing one thing
:13:19. > :13:22.very well. She does but also she can do everything. I was scared of
:13:23. > :13:27.coming across as a one trick pony. As much as as I love doing the
:13:28. > :13:31.ballads and it is easier to connect emotionally. I thought I was going
:13:32. > :13:38.to go out and have fun. It was a massive stage production. You had
:13:39. > :13:43.Ninjas. Yes and pyramid things. I was quite intimidated. Will was
:13:44. > :13:47.jealous. He was. If you can make Will jealous, you know it is going
:13:48. > :13:51.all right. It is a winner. Quite an exhausting performance. A lot of
:13:52. > :13:55.lung power in that song. Was it tiring for your voice? A little bit
:13:56. > :13:59.but I did love T I loved the staging, going out there. -- I did
:14:00. > :14:03.love it. I felt I had created a different kind of side of me during
:14:04. > :14:07.that performance. It was a lot of fun. The final on Saturday. Have you
:14:08. > :14:11.been hitting the campaign trail? It is like being a politician in a way
:14:12. > :14:15.at this point? I know. I expect germane is feeling very much at
:14:16. > :14:21.home. I have been doing some local press, the Bristol Post have been
:14:22. > :14:26.lovely to me and BBC Radio Bristol and tweets and messages from local
:14:27. > :14:31.people and people all over the world outside the UK. I have been looking
:14:32. > :14:39.at your lineage and apparently lots of Scottish in your history and
:14:40. > :14:46.Irish people. I am Irish. And don't forget I'm from Yorkshire. All those
:14:47. > :14:51.Cornish ice-creams. We have enjoyed summers in Cornwall. How much
:14:52. > :14:54.pressure is there on you, Ricky, with Christina Marie to pick the
:14:55. > :14:57.right songs. We had a real pressurised day the other day, and
:14:58. > :15:01.it was weird because we were looking for a perfect song. We were in the
:15:02. > :15:04.dressing room playing loads of stuff. We played this song and we
:15:05. > :15:11.were like - it was obviously right. We sang it and sang it. Because she
:15:12. > :15:15.can sing incredibly well Thank you. We've noticed. But what I wanted was
:15:16. > :15:18.to get the emotion across and the connection with the song. You
:15:19. > :15:23.connected so well. We all had a bit of a meltdown. Were there tears? Did
:15:24. > :15:26.you have to have a cuddle? Yeah. I can't wait for people to see it on
:15:27. > :15:31.Saturday night. It is a real moment. You are going to do a new number. Is
:15:32. > :15:35.this the song you are talking about. Are we allowed to tell what it is?
:15:36. > :15:40.Of course, go for it. If you don't want to know, go and make a cup of
:15:41. > :15:48.tea now. Yes, cover your ears up now, if you don't want to know. Is
:15:49. > :15:54.it Shirley Bassey? You know. It is Coldplay, Fix You. It is such a good
:15:55. > :16:00.build-up as well. I'm seeing tears. I think there will be a lot of
:16:01. > :16:04.emotion. We both said T then you read through the lyrics you said -
:16:05. > :16:10.they are really relevant to what is happening. Not with the unconscious
:16:11. > :16:15.cupeling, but, the competition. Yeah. Also, you are going to duet.
:16:16. > :16:20.Please tell me you are doing Islands in the Stream. I said it that to
:16:21. > :16:25.Ricky he was - you know what, I'm not feeling it. Keith Harris and or
:16:26. > :16:33.have I. We will not tell you what that is. Are we not? We can have a
:16:34. > :16:36.guess. And you revisit one of your favourite performances. Difficult to
:16:37. > :16:40.choose, they have all been awesome. Which have your chosen? I have
:16:41. > :16:45.decided to go with the one that meant the most to me emotionally and
:16:46. > :16:51.I've picked the Power of Love which was my battle performance with
:16:52. > :16:55.Nathan. With Nathan He made that special to me. He is now one of my
:16:56. > :17:00.closest friends. He is going to be there on Saturday. I want to go out
:17:01. > :17:05.and sing it for him. We love Nathan. He is so supportive of everyone on
:17:06. > :17:09.Team Ricky. He is still around and helping everyone. Waving the
:17:10. > :17:13.banners. Well, throughout the competitionic has been there for
:17:14. > :17:16.you, smiling and beaming and supporting you. He is not the only
:17:17. > :17:22.one who loves you to pieces. Look at this. Christina is an amazing
:17:23. > :17:27.sister. I look up to her. She is my rock, basically. She was always
:17:28. > :17:32.helpful around the house. She used to sing and dance any chance she
:17:33. > :17:38.got. As a student, Christina was vibrant and strong. Everybody knew
:17:39. > :17:44.about Christina's voice. She sang in lessons. She used to sing in the
:17:45. > :17:53.shows. She just lives to sing. Christina doesn't realise how good
:17:54. > :17:58.she is. I'm very proud of Christina being on
:17:59. > :18:04.The Voice. She has come so far. She has become more mature and more
:18:05. > :18:11.confident. I think she is a real inspiration to all the young people
:18:12. > :18:17.out there. This is her dream. She started from singing in her bedroom
:18:18. > :18:21.to now. We have seen her grow up to be a beautiful young lady that can
:18:22. > :18:28.sing and is now doing something with her voice. I'm so proud. You are
:18:29. > :18:33.such a lovely, lovely girl. She is an amazing daughter to me. She's
:18:34. > :18:35.worked so hard. And if anybody deserves to get somewhere, with her
:18:36. > :18:46.singing career, it's Christina. Oh, your lovely mum and sister R
:18:47. > :18:54.they going to be there on Saturday? They will. I got a bit glassy-eyed.
:18:55. > :19:02.Rein it in. They are the two most important people in my life. Woo,
:19:03. > :19:06.woo, woo. Two of the most important. I couldn't have done not only this
:19:07. > :19:10.show but lots of things in my life without them by my side. I am happy
:19:11. > :19:17.they will be there on Saturday. I can't wait to see them. They are
:19:18. > :19:22.very proud. Keep this one in check. I will try. Good luck. Good luck
:19:23. > :19:27.Ricky and Christina Marie. We will see you on Friday. One more catch-up
:19:28. > :19:32.before the big day. Now here is Christina Marie in rehearsals with a
:19:33. > :19:53.sneak peak of what ul you can hear on Saturday. Don't tell.
:19:54. > :20:03.# Lights will guide you... # Looking good.
:20:04. > :20:07.If you are loving you are a acts' performances, you can unload their
:20:08. > :20:12.Saturday night songs. Head to the website. At least 20 pour goes to
:20:13. > :20:16.the BBC performing arts charity. In a moment my final lesson from
:20:17. > :20:23.singing coach Maureen Scott but one last chance for us to brush up on
:20:24. > :20:25.our vocal vocab with ehave I and Ally.
:20:26. > :20:29.# -- Evie.
:20:30. > :20:35.D is for diction. What I mean by diction is your pronunciation of the
:20:36. > :20:39.words. Over-pronounce or underpronounce can make a
:20:40. > :20:43.difference. Diction is essential to help people understand the story you
:20:44. > :20:47.are telling when you are singing. There are certain exercises you can
:20:48. > :20:52.use to practice your diction. For instance there is Tip of the tuning,
:20:53. > :21:00.the teeth, the lips. Unique, New York, unique New York. There is also
:21:01. > :21:05.one about the pheasant plucker, but we will not go there today.
:21:06. > :21:12.Now after a week of hard graft, perfecting my vocals, it is almost
:21:13. > :21:15.time for me to join the long list of performers who have murdered
:21:16. > :21:19.Unchained Melody. Brace yourself. Here is Maureen with her final
:21:20. > :21:23.masterclass. I'm Maureen Scott. A singing teacher and vocal coach. I
:21:24. > :21:28.have taught loads of popstars. I have taught people in major West End
:21:29. > :21:37.shows. I mean the whole thing about teaching singing is rewarding.
:21:38. > :21:40.Welcome Maureen. Thank you so much for coming back and not giving up on
:21:41. > :21:45.this lost cause. Lots of people joining in at home with all the
:21:46. > :21:48.exercises you have been doing Good. Really good. Today we will learn
:21:49. > :21:52.about how to use your tuning be properly and how to belt -- use your
:21:53. > :22:01.tongue. But some favourites. A warm-up. A quick warm-up.
:22:02. > :22:08.The big smile in the tloe. Giggle, giggle. I can feel it now Now we are
:22:09. > :22:20.just going to do this. Me, Mas, me, Mas, me.
:22:21. > :22:26.Me, ma me ma me Release. Me, ma me ma me.
:22:27. > :22:31.Well done. Well done. I enjoyed that. Well done, really
:22:32. > :22:34.good. Well connected to the body. Release of the belly. Fantastic. It
:22:35. > :22:39.just needs practice all the time. The next thing we will look at is
:22:40. > :22:44.the tongue. I will give you tongue exercises. Roll the tongue around
:22:45. > :22:50.the teeth. I have a lot of teeth And the other way. And the other way.
:22:51. > :22:56.Why do we do this? Well, the tongue root is very strong. If you put your
:22:57. > :23:02.thumb here and you go oh, oh, oh, you can feel that, that's Mr Bean
:23:03. > :23:09.speaking. Really? You don't want that. You don't want to be Mr Bean.
:23:10. > :23:16.No. So it has to stay high up on the top back teeth, wide and flat. OK.
:23:17. > :23:22.So tongue exercises, touch your nose with your tongue and your chin and
:23:23. > :23:26.cheek and other cheek Again, nose, nose.
:23:27. > :23:32.Chin, chin. OK, that will do, well done. That's
:23:33. > :23:39.enough of that. I can curl it. It is hereditary You don't want the curled
:23:40. > :23:44.up bit. You want it twisted like... Oh, that's clever. I can do it one
:23:45. > :23:48.way, I can't do the other We are doing this to warm up our tongue to
:23:49. > :23:52.help with the whole... Also, so the muscle at the back of the tongue, it
:23:53. > :23:55.doesn't want to drop. And the tip of the tongue always stays behind the
:23:56. > :24:02.bottom teeth. The back is up here on the teeth. The tip is down here,
:24:03. > :24:07.there. OK. Let's go on to belting. Shall we? A good idea. Hold tight
:24:08. > :24:16.The breath changes for belting. It is higher. So the rib cage expands.
:24:17. > :24:23.So you go - with a quick breath. Now pull your shoulder blades down and
:24:24. > :24:28.look up. Belting is singing like - like Christina Marie It is all the
:24:29. > :24:32.things the singers go. You don't need so much air flow. You need less
:24:33. > :24:37.air. By controlling that, by anchoring, which means you use the
:24:38. > :24:42.larger muscles in your body to help control these muscles in the larynx.
:24:43. > :24:55.So a high breath. Not your shoulders, and expand the rib stage
:24:56. > :25:03.cage Now push me away here and go up and go aye. Aye.
:25:04. > :25:09.R Feel that. Feel my rib here. Oh, I can feel that. OK. That's what you
:25:10. > :25:21.are doing. Just do that now. Go. Here we go. Look up and go yeah. Oh
:25:22. > :25:24.yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Fantastic. ! Fantastic, great. All right. You
:25:25. > :25:30.have understood all that. I think so. So, listen, when, in your larynx
:25:31. > :25:35.you have two cartilages, one on top of the other, when we sing pretty,
:25:36. > :25:41.the one here stretches the vocal chords. The one underneath, when you
:25:42. > :25:49.belt drops back and keeps the vocal folds think. So you go, eeeee.
:25:50. > :25:55.Shall I try that? Eeee? OK. Hear a shift.
:25:56. > :26:00.Now you are moving it. Well done. ! All right, shall we sing? Let's try.
:26:01. > :26:05.I will do a line. Then you do a line. All right. So if I go in
:26:06. > :26:11.speech quality, like talking with a big smile here. Big smile. OK.
:26:12. > :26:17.# Oh, my love # My darling
:26:18. > :26:22.# I've hungered for your touch... # OK. You. Two, three, go...
:26:23. > :26:24.# Oh, # My love
:26:25. > :26:32.# My darling # I've hungered for your touch... #
:26:33. > :26:40.Well done Now we are going to go pretty? Pretty. Pretty. It goes
:26:41. > :26:44.# Along, lonely time... # Go
:26:45. > :26:53.# A long, lonely time... # That means you needed to tilt. OK.
:26:54. > :27:04.Oh, the sad face. Any note. With me, it is. I'm used to playing with
:27:05. > :27:09.Elvis. A long, lonely time... # Yes Now back to speech quality. No
:27:10. > :27:13.we will not we will stay there. # Time goes by
:27:14. > :27:17.# So slowly # And time
:27:18. > :27:24.# Can do so much... # OK, you. And me. Crying
:27:25. > :27:26.# And time # Goes by
:27:27. > :27:32.# So slowly # And time can do so much... #
:27:33. > :27:39.Brilliant For the next time we will belt. Fingers crossed.
:27:40. > :27:42.# You... # You
:27:43. > :27:48.# Still mine... # Nearly. Just need practice. I knew I
:27:49. > :27:57.wouldn't make T Tell us how it should be
:27:58. > :28:02.# You still mine... # I need yourer love. Thank you so
:28:03. > :28:06.much. Pleasure. Maybe I will come to you and have some proper lessons.
:28:07. > :28:13.Fantastic. We need more time. They take time. I I hope you have enjoyed
:28:14. > :28:19.joining in with that. I apologise to all pets. Thank you to Maureen
