0:28:29 > 0:28:33'Things are going to take a turn for the weird for Richard
0:28:33 > 0:28:38'because the next song is the charity record he made with his daughter Emily.

0:31:56 > 0:32:00I understand these dreams because I've had them myself.
0:32:00 > 0:32:06When I was young, I wanted to sing in the West End. I dreamed of performing with my favourite star

0:32:12 > 0:32:16Hold on a minute! That's not me. You're on your own.
0:32:16 > 0:32:22Some dreams really are sky high like this heart stopping moment from last year
0:32:22 > 0:32:26with 79-year-old adrenaline junkie John Wilkins. John has no fear
0:32:26 > 0:32:31as his daredevil stunts raise money for Bristol Children's Hospital.
0:32:31 > 0:32:37He's skydived, abseiled and bungee jumped his way to raising over £100,000,
0:32:37 > 0:32:41but John's daughter told us there's one stunt he still hasn't tried.
0:32:41 > 0:32:48Dad's done so many really wild things, but one thing he really wants to do is to do wing walking.
0:32:48 > 0:32:55It would be so wonderful to see him where he can enjoy the thrill and know it was a reward for him.
0:32:55 > 0:33:01Before we gave him his wing walking surprise, we lured him to our hidden cameras with a web of lies.

0:33:07 > 0:33:13I thought, "OK. I've done it before." And as I came round the side of the wheel,
0:33:13 > 0:33:18I saw the BBC crew there and John Barrowman.
0:33:18 > 0:33:20"What on earth is this all about?"
0:33:20 > 0:33:26'Well, this is all about a totally fictitious photo shoot and my totally real phobia of heights!
0:33:26 > 0:33:29'What could possibly go wrong?'
0:33:29 > 0:33:36- Hello? - Somebody's speaking to us.- 'We're having some technical difficulties.'
0:33:40 > 0:33:46He said he was afraid of heights. I said, "Really? Are you having me on, John?" He said, "No, no."
0:33:46 > 0:33:51He said, "What can you do?" I said basically don't look down.
0:33:51 > 0:33:54- Oh(!)- It's not a long way. - No! Don't look down!
0:33:54 > 0:33:57'He phoned up his agent.'

0:34:10 > 0:34:14- She hung up on me!- Has she?- Hello? - Open the door! I want to get out!
0:34:14 > 0:34:19'So we switched the wheel back on and got John back to earth.'
0:34:19 > 0:34:23I know all about your charity work. I also know you have a dream.
0:34:23 > 0:34:29- I've been told you want to wing walk.- Yes!- I'm going to make sure you can wing walk.- Fantastic!
0:34:29 > 0:34:36- If only you could be there beside me...- John Wilkins, you are on your own, buddy!
0:34:39 > 0:34:45- Pleased to meet you.- A week later and John joined these magnificent women in their flying machines.
0:34:45 > 0:34:50- But was he having second thoughts? - Still up for it?- I'm terrified!
0:34:51 > 0:34:56I'm only joking. I'm up for that. I might do a few moves of my own.
0:34:56 > 0:35:01And then it was time for 79-year-old John to take to the skies
0:35:01 > 0:35:06for the most breathtaking aerial stunt of them all - a loop the loop!
0:35:08 > 0:35:13I went up in the plane and then the pilot said, "As you seem to be OK with it,
0:35:13 > 0:35:15"we'll give you two loops."
0:35:17 > 0:35:21It went into a loop where you're completely upside down.
0:35:24 > 0:35:27- The G-forces are quite tremendous. - He's not kidding!
0:35:27 > 0:35:34John experienced an amazing 4 Gs of gravity - more than astronauts face going into space.
0:35:38 > 0:35:41The second time we did a loop,
0:35:41 > 0:35:47we came out of it near the hangar where the family were. Everybody was waving and shouting.
0:35:47 > 0:35:53Being nominated by my daughter and family was an incredible thing
0:35:53 > 0:35:59and I felt overwhelmed by it. So I have been inspired and I shall go on
0:35:59 > 0:36:05to go further and to do more jumps and more abseils this year and into the following years
0:36:05 > 0:36:08until such times as I fall over!
0:36:10 > 0:36:16We're staying up in the air with a look back at how I surprised sky-diving dreamer Karen Martin.
0:36:16 > 0:36:20Last year student manager Karen was treated for breast cancer.
0:36:20 > 0:36:27Her boss Peter remembers how Karen still put others first and never let the condition drag her down.
0:36:27 > 0:36:31To lose your hair publicly in front of 1,300 students
0:36:31 > 0:36:36and still come in and support them and put their needs first is just amazing.
0:36:36 > 0:36:40She's an inspiration to all of us in school.
0:36:40 > 0:36:47'Karen's now been given the all clear and it was time for me to make her sky-diving dream come true.'
0:36:47 > 0:36:50She's arriving. She just pulled up.
0:36:50 > 0:36:55- I hope she's ready for a house guest. ..Hi, Karen.- Oh, my God!

0:40:17 > 0:40:19- LAUGHTER - Yeah.
0:40:19 > 0:40:25First thing in the morning, I'm like a zombie, but a lot weirder looking.
0:40:25 > 0:40:30The old brain cells are very slow to kick in. So for this next surprise,
0:40:30 > 0:40:34it took just a little while for our dreamer to catch up.
0:40:34 > 0:40:40Andy Stratford is a loving father and husband who lives life to the full,

0:41:00 > 0:41:05Andy was lucky to be alive and was told he may never walk again,
0:41:05 > 0:41:08but after six months in a wheelchair he got back on his feet.
0:41:08 > 0:41:15Andy's always been quite a positive person, but since the accident he has more of a hunger for life
0:41:15 > 0:41:18and he does a lot more for people.
0:41:18 > 0:41:24Not content with just walking again, Andy started running to help those who helped him.
0:41:24 > 0:41:28He's run a couple of half-marathons for the London air ambulance.
0:41:28 > 0:41:32And after his accident, Andy discovered a new passion.
0:41:32 > 0:41:36He loves his golf. He's absolutely mad about his golf.
0:41:36 > 0:41:40Golf's played a big part in his recovery.

0:41:46 > 0:41:52I've arranged for him to tee off with his all-time hero, legendary golfer Colin Montgomerie.
0:41:52 > 0:41:56It will blow his mind. He's one of the big golfers.
0:41:56 > 0:42:00To be meeting such a legend, he'll be amazed.
0:42:00 > 0:42:07'So imagine this. It's a ridiculous time in the morning and you've just come home from your nightshift.

0:42:24 > 0:42:29- Hi.- This is a bit weird, isn't it? You're all the way over there

0:43:08 > 0:43:11Who cares about the duvet now? Colin Montgomerie's waiting.
0:43:11 > 0:43:18So it's bags in the boot. By the time Andy arrives at the course, the word's out and Colin has a crowd.
0:43:18 > 0:43:23But none of them are getting the VIP treatment.
0:43:23 > 0:43:29We've got Monty behind here. I'm going to be lucky enough to have a one-on-one in a moment.
0:43:29 > 0:43:32Look at all these people. This is amazing.
0:43:32 > 0:43:36- Hi, Andy.- Nice to meet you. - Good to see you.

0:43:50 > 0:43:53Well done, you, eh?
0:43:53 > 0:43:57Time to wedge in a golf lesson from Colin. How cool is that?
0:43:57 > 0:44:02If we go weaker with the left and a little bit weaker with the right,
0:44:02 > 0:44:06it's amazing how that club will come through in a squarer way.
0:44:06 > 0:44:10It will feel ridiculously uncomfortable, right?
0:44:10 > 0:44:15But that's much, much better than it was. There you go.
0:44:15 > 0:44:19- There you go. Wow! - I don't believe it!- Ha!
0:44:19 > 0:44:23- How the heck is that already...?! - That's all right, isn't it?

0:44:35 > 0:44:40All right, Andy, calm down. Now time to work on your putting game.
0:44:40 > 0:44:43Try to make the hole get in the way of this ball.
0:44:43 > 0:44:45Towards the hole.
0:44:45 > 0:44:47Good pace.
0:44:47 > 0:44:50- OK, fine.- Beginner's luck, that!
0:44:50 > 0:44:53Right, beer? Do you want a drink?
0:44:53 > 0:44:58I just put him under pressure there. To hole it first time - brilliant.
0:44:58 > 0:45:04- Colin, would you do me the pleasure of signing my Ryder Cup ball? - I will indeed. The Ryder Cup.
0:45:04 > 0:45:10Celtic Manor, 2010. I'll sign anything with that logo on it, I assure you!
0:45:10 > 0:45:12Colin Montgomerie was just...wow!
0:45:12 > 0:45:16All credit to him. He's a real inspiration
0:45:16 > 0:45:21for everybody that's had severe trauma. I wish him all the best.
0:45:21 > 0:45:26I can't believe Colin's signed my Ryder Cup ball from last year.
0:45:26 > 0:45:31It's never going to go anywhere else apart from in my golf pocket!

0:45:46 > 0:45:49I'll leave that up to you there!
0:45:49 > 0:45:54Now also all those people that were on that course, you saw them there
0:45:54 > 0:46:02and they thought they were getting something special, but when you got it, how did it make you feel?
0:46:02 > 0:46:06I'm still reliving the dream now. To be honest, John, it's amazing.
0:46:06 > 0:46:10It all happened so quick. I'll remember it for the rest of my life.
0:46:10 > 0:46:17- Did you ever think that would happen?- You just don't believe dreams happen to normal people.
0:46:17 > 0:46:23Well, we like making them happen. Heather, Andy puts himself out before everybody else.
0:46:23 > 0:46:29- Was it nice to see him getting something just for himself? - Oh, it was brilliant, yeah.
0:46:29 > 0:46:35He surprises me constantly so it was great to do that. We can call it quits now!
0:46:35 > 0:46:39No, I think you should keep on going! Keep surprising each other.
0:46:39 > 0:46:43Everybody, he's our king of clubs - Andy Stratford!
0:46:48 > 0:46:54I love musical theatre and we have plenty of West End dreamers who can't wait to experience the magic.
0:46:54 > 0:47:00We're only to happy to make it happen. Here's where the performing dream becomes a dream performance.
0:47:00 > 0:47:04Last year we stopped off in South Wales to surprise Rebecca Bull,
0:47:04 > 0:47:08a teacher who inspires all her pupils.
0:47:08 > 0:47:14Rebecca's great with all her pupils, but with me individually she's boosted my confidence.
0:47:14 > 0:47:18She's always been there for me and made me believe in myself more.
0:47:18 > 0:47:23She goes further with us than any other teacher and most other people as well.
0:47:23 > 0:47:26She believes in us.
0:47:26 > 0:47:32'Rebecca expected a drive-through lunch with her friend Kyle, but she wasn't expecting me!'
0:47:32 > 0:47:37Do you want a surprise with that? Or would you like fries with that?
0:47:37 > 0:47:41I remember getting to the drive-though and...
0:47:41 > 0:47:45'I couldn't really hear what was being said properly.'
0:47:45 > 0:47:48Two double cheeseburger meals...
0:47:48 > 0:47:51I'm sorry? Two burgers, a cake...?
0:47:53 > 0:47:55It's been a stressful day for me!
0:47:55 > 0:48:01I felt very sorry for the person who was taking the order. They hadn't worked there long.
0:48:01 > 0:48:04They needed training and support.
0:48:04 > 0:48:08- We've had 450 cars! - Kyle, I feel really sorry for him!

0:48:13 > 0:48:17- And a cake.- I'll have the cake. I'm not on a diet!
0:48:17 > 0:48:22- We're on the right path here! - How much is it?- It's £52...
0:48:22 > 0:48:28And when we got to the window things went completely mad and over the top.
0:48:30 > 0:48:34I think that's the milkshake. Here you go.
0:48:34 > 0:48:37Can I have a different straw?
0:48:37 > 0:48:41- There's a straw.- Thank you. - Thank you.- And your food.
0:48:43 > 0:48:47I'm so sorry. Maybe it's salvageable.
0:48:47 > 0:48:53When I was asked to fill in the questionnaire, there was no way I could destroy his confidence.
0:48:53 > 0:48:59- When you come back, I'll give you free nuggets.- It was poor. - But we can't be mean.
0:48:59 > 0:49:04That's my teaching there. I've got to find something positive to say.
0:49:04 > 0:49:07Different.
0:49:07 > 0:49:09Don't put that.
0:49:10 > 0:49:16I put your service was different. Maybe you need more training, but you're a real cheerful chap.
0:49:16 > 0:49:20- I appreciate that. Thanks very much. - That's wonderful.
0:49:20 > 0:49:27When John Barrowman took off his disguise, it was overwhelming. I couldn't believe he was there.
0:49:27 > 0:49:32I'm actually John Barrowman and I'm here to make your dream come true.
0:49:32 > 0:49:35Oh, my God!
0:49:36 > 0:49:40- This is just a joke? - And you're in the middle of it.

0:49:59 > 0:50:02Did you know about this?
0:50:03 > 0:50:07'The day of filming the show was very, very nerve-racking.
0:50:07 > 0:50:13'Once those doors opened, I sort of felt as though I was Velma Kelly and the nerves disappeared.'
0:50:13 > 0:50:16And I loved every single moment.
0:50:16 > 0:50:20# Come on, babe Why don't we paint the town
0:50:20 > 0:50:23# And all that jazz... #
0:50:23 > 0:50:28For the children in school, if Miss Bull can do it, anybody can do it.
0:50:28 > 0:50:30# And all that jazz... #
0:50:30 > 0:50:37In the last year since the show, I've actually directed and performed in Beauty and the Beast,
0:50:37 > 0:50:39which was very successful.
0:50:39 > 0:50:43# But, oh, I love my life
0:50:43 > 0:50:45# And all... #

0:50:57 > 0:50:59So glad to be of service!
0:50:59 > 0:51:04Now let's stay in the West End for college lecturer Paul Stevens.
0:51:04 > 0:51:10Paul's talent for singing and performance has raised thousands of pounds for local charities,
0:51:10 > 0:51:14but since the tragic death of his son Andrew in Barbados 5 years ago,
0:51:14 > 0:51:21Paul now gives his time to one main charity, Cardiac Risk In The Young, or CRY. Daughter Lucy explains.
0:51:21 > 0:51:25Andrew suddenly died of a heart condition he didn't know about.
0:51:25 > 0:51:30Since then, my dad's thrown himself into his singing,
0:51:30 > 0:51:32using it as his therapy.
0:51:32 > 0:51:38For years, Paul's sung to help others, so it was time to sing for himself.
0:51:38 > 0:51:42His wife Gwen knew which song he'd want to perform for the nation.
0:51:42 > 0:51:48Paul loves Bring Him Home from Les Miserables. It's a very poignant song to him
0:51:48 > 0:51:51and a very emotional song.
0:51:51 > 0:51:57We sent Paul to the Queen's Theatre, home to the world's longest-running musical, Les Miserables.
0:51:57 > 0:52:03It was time to stop, reflect and soak up the atmosphere of the legendary venue

0:53:02 > 0:53:05- I'll do the easy bit.- Not too high!
0:53:05 > 0:53:12With Paul's story, it's enough as it is, but with the song as well and the sentiment behind the song
0:53:12 > 0:53:17and what it means for Paul, it's going to be a special moment.
0:53:26 > 0:53:28- #- God
