:00:09. > :00:11.Aled, it's the final of The Great Interior Design Challenge

:00:12. > :00:13.tonight so I've been inspired to redesign your dressing room

:00:14. > :00:50.Today, me and Aled are here to guide you

:00:51. > :00:52.through the highlights of last night's best TV shows.

:00:53. > :00:55.And we'll tell you what we think are the ones to watch

:00:56. > :00:58.Also, the judges and host of BBC 2's The Great Interior

:00:59. > :01:06.Design Challenge will be here to talk about tonight's final.

:01:07. > :01:09.We'll be speaking to the hero of BBC Three's Marathon Man -

:01:10. > :01:11.Eddie Izzard is live from South Africa.

:01:12. > :01:16.And we're rewinding the clock to enjoy again a date in TV

:01:17. > :01:18.history in what we call Windback Wednesday.

:01:19. > :01:21.But before all of that, let's take a look at last night's

:01:22. > :01:43.Neither of us can be sure you are even my real dad. There are eight to

:01:44. > :01:48.ten chocolates in the box, depending on the size of the nut. Nobody would

:01:49. > :01:55.believe that I ordered the table and I got 40 bags of live fish. It was

:01:56. > :01:56.my worst nightmare. A very complacent penguin is not a happy

:01:57. > :01:58.penguin. Last night we saw tears on Emmerdale

:01:59. > :02:01.and there were tensions in the chocolate factory

:02:02. > :02:04.on BBC2's Who's The Boss, but 6.4 million of you tuned

:02:05. > :02:09.into Happy Valley. Including this one. That is an awful

:02:10. > :02:14.lot of people to watch a cartoon. Srath Sona - Happy Valley -

:02:15. > :02:18.The Gaelic children's cartoon I love it. What are. -- what a

:02:19. > :02:28.coincidence. Aled, you know perfectly well that's

:02:29. > :02:31.not the Happy Valley I mean. It's the crime drama Happy Valley

:02:32. > :02:34.with Sarah Lancashire on BBC1. It was so intense last night,

:02:35. > :02:36.with Tommy Lee Royce plotting his revenge by continuing

:02:37. > :02:43.to manipulate Francis from prison. I didn't know she was going to go

:02:44. > :02:49.out of the way to target her. But she did. And now they are going to

:02:50. > :02:58.go out of their way to let her walk and I can't do anything. But you

:02:59. > :03:12.can. If our two hearts beat as one, and I like to think that they do,

:03:13. > :03:19.then you know what I want. You know what I want, Francis.

:03:20. > :03:21.You know what I want, Emma, what I really, really want. There is a song

:03:22. > :03:25.there. Stop watching Happy Valley. Don't be fooled by the title, it's

:03:26. > :03:34.definitely not happy. James Norton, who you saw in that

:03:35. > :03:39.clip, is such a versatile actor. He's in this and he's just

:03:40. > :03:42.been in War and Peace. He's

:03:43. > :03:43.definitely having his moment. And you'll be seeing

:03:44. > :03:46.more of him later. Over on Channel 4 was a great show

:03:47. > :03:49.called The Secret Life of the Zoo where they take us behind

:03:50. > :03:53.the scenes to show us all the parts of Chester Zoo that

:03:54. > :03:56.are normally off limits On last night's episode,

:03:57. > :03:59.there was a chimp called Boris Really, I thought you were older

:04:00. > :04:09.than that! Awkward! Zookeeper Neil has known Boris

:04:10. > :04:11.for 46 years and last night we saw how they get

:04:12. > :04:21.on and have a laugh. The zoo limits contact between

:04:22. > :04:28.chimps and their keepers. But that has not stopped Neil and Boris

:04:29. > :04:37.finding ways to play together. Boris has definitely got a sense of

:04:38. > :04:49.humour. He wicked sense of humour. -- a wicked. I could literally watch

:04:50. > :04:53.chimps all day. Well, you are working with one! That is one of the

:04:54. > :05:04.sweetest relationships I have seen all week. It is amazing, the guy

:05:05. > :05:13.that works with Boris, he says he could work with chimps all day long.

:05:14. > :05:20.I had my first kiss in the chimp's enclosure. Not with Boris. What was

:05:21. > :05:26.her name? Emma. Was it? No. The last episode is next Tuesday.

:05:27. > :05:29.Also on last night was Holby City, BBC1, which is on top

:05:30. > :05:32.Last night, trainee doctor Arthur got

:05:33. > :05:47.The CT scanned's clear? He's going to be OK? -- CT scan is clear. We

:05:48. > :05:58.will have to do a follow-up scan to be sure. But yes. We have every

:05:59. > :06:00.reason to be positive. I love that clip.

:06:01. > :06:07.I thought his romance with Morven, who you saw in the clip there,

:06:08. > :06:10.was going to have to be put on hold, but thankfully everything's

:06:11. > :06:13.I actually felt quite emotional watching that.

:06:14. > :06:16.Holby City's doing really well in the ratings,

:06:17. > :06:26.after 18 years it's still coming up with meaty storylines.

:06:27. > :06:32.Incredible. I hear that the actors struggle with the medical terms, so

:06:33. > :06:35.they write them on the actors in the hospital beds.

:06:36. > :06:39.Well that's what we thought about last night's telly,

:06:40. > :06:42.but we want to hear what you think, so get in touch at

:06:43. > :06:44.bbc.co.uk/TooMuchTV or send us a Tweet.

:06:45. > :06:56.Now, last night, we had the semi-final of The Great Interior

:06:57. > :07:00.BBC2's search to find the country's best

:07:01. > :07:03.In this clip, after a stressful time restyling sitting rooms,

:07:04. > :07:10.There is only room for two in the final. And the designer we are

:07:11. > :07:21.saying goodbye to today is... Poor old Frankie didn't impress

:07:22. > :07:39.with his Union Jack inspired There he goes. He was your

:07:40. > :07:42.favourite. But I have forgotten all about him. Frankie who?

:07:43. > :07:45.So with two left, if you haven't qute made up your mind who you're

:07:46. > :07:53.rooting for in the final, we can help.

:07:54. > :07:54.Please welcome host Tom Dikov and judges

:07:55. > :08:08.Honestly, we love the programme. How could you do that to Frankie? We had

:08:09. > :08:14.to listen. It's really sad, he was one of the best designers. He was

:08:15. > :08:18.obsessed with fabrics. We have ascertained that he was horrible in

:08:19. > :08:22.real life. And he was on the edge from the word go. And then he ran

:08:23. > :08:26.out of puff. It is so gruelling, this competition. Week after week,

:08:27. > :08:34.you have to come up with new ideas. And you two are quite harsh. Back

:08:35. > :08:38.off, we are very friendly. In comparison to this one. But how

:08:39. > :08:45.difficult can it be, just designing one little room? You have to days to

:08:46. > :08:52.do it. I would challenge you to do it. Do not like what I have done

:08:53. > :08:57.with this. No! You have been with the finalists. You happy with them?

:08:58. > :09:01.We're really happy with them. They have shown week on week that they

:09:02. > :09:05.are versatile, time time again. They come out with a completely different

:09:06. > :09:11.look. Wait until you see the programme tonight, there are some

:09:12. > :09:16.shoppers. Really?! Sarah, it was quite controversial with the orange

:09:17. > :09:23.room last night. I love this. I really did like it. What it was so

:09:24. > :09:29.wrong with that? It looks like a tanning booth. That is what I

:09:30. > :09:34.thought. I loved it. It was a bit like a bordello. I know all about

:09:35. > :09:40.these property programmes, you route around people's coverts were no one

:09:41. > :09:48.is looking... I love it! I am a nosy parker. What is the most shocking

:09:49. > :09:54.thing you have found? That is a good question. Most people's rooms, most

:09:55. > :09:58.of them have a tidy up, but they are very magnolia and beige, very white.

:09:59. > :10:02.What is great about this show, it allows the homeowners to embrace

:10:03. > :10:05.colour and fabric and texture. The most shocking thing I found was a

:10:06. > :10:14.Jamie Oliver cookbook. Everybody seems to have one. Did you find any

:10:15. > :10:20.of our CDs in their houses? We have a clip from tonight's show where one

:10:21. > :10:28.home owner is getting a little nervous. I feel like the brief has

:10:29. > :10:30.not really been done. The homeowner's anxieties have

:10:31. > :10:35.accelerated and she will not let us carry on. Basically, we are not

:10:36. > :10:40.allowed back in the house at the moment. They have lost faith in the

:10:41. > :10:44.design and Sarah was not working to the brief anyway. She has really got

:10:45. > :10:51.to get the homeowner back on board and get work started. I can't

:10:52. > :10:57.believe they lock you out! Not ask! Was it really that bad? It wasn't

:10:58. > :11:02.just done for TV! She woke up the next morning and she said, I can

:11:03. > :11:07.allow this to happen in my home. I see that the big earrings are in

:11:08. > :11:12.real life and not just for TV. We also have Kelly Hopton on tonight,

:11:13. > :11:21.and I know that she is feisty. How did they find her? Scared.

:11:22. > :11:27.Intimidated. How did you find her?! I was quaking. The million-dollar

:11:28. > :11:32.question, would you let these finalists design your bedroom or a

:11:33. > :11:37.living room? I think I would. I have already let a finalist into my home.

:11:38. > :11:44.Series one, Jordan. Hopefully as a designer! A great flash of colours,

:11:45. > :11:48.lots of zigzags. They enable you to think outside the box. That is why

:11:49. > :11:55.you should always use an interior designer. We are interior designers

:11:56. > :11:59.so it would be weird, I don't know why I would want someone else to

:12:00. > :12:02.design my home. But I would be up for collaboration for fresh eyes. Do

:12:03. > :12:10.you help each other with your houses? Yes. You have helped me with

:12:11. > :12:16.a fewer little bits. And I am buying a new house and Dan is helping me do

:12:17. > :12:20.floor plans. He says, you don't want another bedroom, you just want a big

:12:21. > :12:26.dressing room. And I said, yes, I do! Obviously, the programme is

:12:27. > :12:30.great but we have noticed there has been a lot of supposedly great TV on

:12:31. > :12:38.recently. The last three years alone, I think we have had...

:12:39. > :12:40.The Great British Sewing Bee, Great British Menu,

:12:41. > :12:41.Great British Year, Great British Grub,

:12:42. > :12:43.Great British Holiday, Great British Railway Journeys,

:12:44. > :12:45.Great British Benefits Handout, The Great Pottery Throwdown,

:12:46. > :12:47.Great British Sex Survey, Great British Bake Off,

:12:48. > :12:49.and The Great British Bake Off Extra Slice!

:12:50. > :12:56.The Great Interior Design Challenge is on straight after us,

:12:57. > :13:00.Before you go, one more thing, who wins?

:13:01. > :13:10.You almost told me! tenterhooks. I think they are going

:13:11. > :13:13.to give the game away. Is there going to win? They blinked! -- is

:13:14. > :13:16.Sarah going to win. Thank you so much for coming

:13:17. > :13:29.in Tom, Sophie and Daniel! We're going out on the streets to

:13:30. > :13:30.ask you who the best of the best is on TV.

:13:31. > :13:32.This week, our friend Funmbi Omotayo is in

:13:33. > :13:43.Basildon on a mission to find the Best Double Act.

:13:44. > :13:49.With so many great double acts, which one is the best of the best? I

:13:50. > :13:53.have designed a little something, and with the help of the great

:13:54. > :13:59.British public, we will settle this debate once and for all. So, the

:14:00. > :14:08.runners and riders, brought to you by Too Much TV are Ant and Dec,

:14:09. > :14:14.French and Saunders, Mel and Sue, light heavyweight champions of the

:14:15. > :14:18.world, Morecambe and Wise, and since I have to wear this thing around

:14:19. > :14:22.Basildon for the whole day, I get to pick my own and I'm going with the

:14:23. > :14:32.legendary chuckle brothers, Paul and Barry. Let's do this. What makes a

:14:33. > :14:42.good double act? Personality. Chemistry between the two. They make

:14:43. > :14:51.you smile. Ant and Dec. What is it about them? Just look at them, and

:14:52. > :14:58.you smile. Do it again, do it again! I would probably say Morecambe and

:14:59. > :15:07.Wise. But I would say Ant and Dec. Ant and Dec. Who is your favourite?

:15:08. > :15:11.Which one is And! As good as they are, I don't think they will ever

:15:12. > :15:14.beat Morecambe and Wise. They were clever, they were funny, and you

:15:15. > :15:21.felt as though it were talking to you. OK. Cast your vote. TV's

:15:22. > :15:28.greatest double acts? How are you doing, search? Perfect.

:15:29. > :15:39.Who would you go with? Ant Dec. What about French and Saunders, they

:15:40. > :15:48.are not getting that much love?! That was a memory from my childhood,

:15:49. > :15:54.so... Ant Dec, we are coming for you. Fool me, it is Morecambe and

:15:55. > :15:59.Wise, because they were very, very clever. Who is the greatest TV

:16:00. > :16:10.double of all time, in your humble opinion? Thank you very much, French

:16:11. > :16:16.and Saunders - finally! In C win C spider... That is ten spiders you

:16:17. > :16:22.have grown! OK, people, the people of Basildon have spoken. The results

:16:23. > :16:30.are in. Coming in strongly in third, we have the wonderful Chuckle

:16:31. > :16:34.Brothers. Get in there. I knew they could do it. Going into second

:16:35. > :16:39.place, we have to give it to the veterans Morecambe and Wise. 26% of

:16:40. > :16:46.your votes. And number one, the winners... Ant Dec! They were the

:16:47. > :16:53.strong favourites. And regulations, boys. You are TV's greatest double.

:16:54. > :16:54.It does not matter what the people say, I will always go for the

:16:55. > :16:58.Chuckle Brothers. There we have it! Congratulations to Ant and Dec

:16:59. > :17:01.for being crowned Best Double Nice for them to win

:17:02. > :17:08.something for once! That means they earn their places up

:17:09. > :17:21.on our Best of the Best board. Over the next few weeks,

:17:22. > :17:23.more faces will be added Do you agree that Ant Dec are TV's

:17:24. > :17:28.best double act? Tell us what you think

:17:29. > :17:30.at bbc.co.uk/TooMuchTV or Tweet us Now, someone who definitely

:17:31. > :17:34.is the best of the best is Eddie He is currently in South Africa

:17:35. > :17:37.running, get this, 27 marathons in 27 days, all in aid

:17:38. > :17:42.of Sport Relief. You can see how he's managing

:17:43. > :17:46.every day on BBC Three. Let's have a look

:17:47. > :18:12.at The Marathon Man. I just want to get this thing going.

:18:13. > :18:25.I just want to get going. Here it is a good quote. Right-hand side?

:18:26. > :18:29.And we have him with us now, live from South Africa!

:18:30. > :18:53.Hello. Where are you precisely now in South Africa? We are now in the

:18:54. > :18:57.Eastern Cape, in Somerset East. Restarted further up north in the

:18:58. > :19:03.Eastern Cape and we are running down towards Cape Town. It is the ninth

:19:04. > :19:09.day. I have run eight marathons. I am doing 27 in 27 days. I am already

:19:10. > :19:15.one marathon behind, I have already lost a day, having had to go into

:19:16. > :19:20.hospital. The heat has been up to 41 centigrade. They are checking my

:19:21. > :19:23.kidneys and everything. I have actually been into hospital twice so

:19:24. > :19:30.far. It has been the hardest thing I have ever done. So how was today?

:19:31. > :19:38.Today was a little better. But it is still the heat. I have got sunburn

:19:39. > :19:45.on my ankles. We have already taken one lay off. This is the second lay

:19:46. > :19:48.here. And there is a blister there at the bottom. I don't know if you

:19:49. > :19:58.can see it. The nails are a holding up pretty well. That is good to

:19:59. > :20:04.know! Eddie, what about the cameraman who has got to run it with

:20:05. > :20:07.you? Well, today I was doing a lot of broadcasting just to get the

:20:08. > :20:15.message to people in Britain. By the way, if you wish to support at Sport

:20:16. > :20:21.Relief, that would be great. BBC three online shows everything you

:20:22. > :20:27.need to know. They just walk in front of me, he walks backwards. So

:20:28. > :20:32.that is a bit tricky. But I go down to a walking pace and then I start

:20:33. > :20:35.running after that. All of the other people sit in cars or hang out of

:20:36. > :20:40.things. Sometimes they have to run past me, set up the cameras, and

:20:41. > :20:44.filming. Everyone is getting very fit. You are and his regime to all

:20:45. > :20:50.of us. If Eddie has inspried

:20:51. > :20:54.you and you want to donate to Sport Relief, you can visit

:20:55. > :20:55.Sportrelief.com/SponsorEddie. And watch him everyday

:20:56. > :20:57.online on BBC Three. Thanks for joining us, Eddie,

:20:58. > :21:00.and good luck with the rest Now, a little thing we like to call

:21:01. > :21:13.Windback Wednesday! We're winding back the clock

:21:14. > :21:16.to a date in TV history and looking at what shows

:21:17. > :21:18.were on the box that day. Today, we're going

:21:19. > :21:24.back, way back to.... When there were only

:21:25. > :21:31.three channels on TV. Harold Wilson was in

:21:32. > :21:33.Number 10 and The Hollies If you'd been watching BBC One,

:21:34. > :21:38.you might have seen Watch With Mother and Deputy Dog,

:21:39. > :21:40.but at 6.55 that evening, you would have caught the first ever

:21:41. > :21:46.episode of Tomorrow's World. and was known for introducing

:21:47. > :21:52.technology and gadgets to all of us. Here's how the show

:21:53. > :22:02.looked 51 years ago. It was one of my favourite shows

:22:03. > :22:10.when I was a kid. Of course the possibility of life on Mars has been

:22:11. > :22:14.debated for many years. Lines on the surface have led to the idea that

:22:15. > :22:18.these work and owls dug by the motions. A final answer to the

:22:19. > :22:23.tantalising question will probably have to wait for a soft landing on

:22:24. > :22:26.Mars with a spacecraft. But that is still a few years away.

:22:27. > :22:29.I just love the way the host Raymond Baxter

:22:30. > :22:31.talks - but the set design leaves something

:22:32. > :22:40.Bit better than ours, if you ask me. He was a bit informal, wasn't he? He

:22:41. > :22:44.was, for the time. They might have been

:22:45. > :22:46.a bit behind on Mars, but Tomorrow's World told us first

:22:47. > :22:49.about the pocket calculator in 1971, the digital watch in 1972

:22:50. > :22:59.and in 1981 the compact disc I remember that, they put jam on top

:23:00. > :23:00.of a compact disc to prove that it was indestructible.

:23:01. > :23:02.I can see that later on that night, at 9.35pm

:23:03. > :23:04.on BBC Two, was the sitcom The Likely Lads.

:23:05. > :23:06.Whatever happened to the likely lads?

:23:07. > :23:10.I'm talking about the original series.

:23:11. > :23:12.It was set in Newcastle and followed canny factory

:23:13. > :23:15.workers Terry and Bob as they chatted up girls and enjoyed

:23:16. > :23:37.19 and fragments. How much?! We did not order a fruit salad! I don't

:23:38. > :23:45.care what it is! We have got to watch it. It will be all right. It

:23:46. > :23:47.won't, not with the drinks they are having. Look at it! It is like an

:23:48. > :23:48.allotment! There we saw the brilliant

:23:49. > :23:54.James Bolam and Rodney Bewes. They were a great

:23:55. > :23:58.onscreen double act. Although apparently

:23:59. > :24:02.they didn't get on in real life. James Bolam went on to star

:24:03. > :24:08.in loads of great shows. And he is

:24:09. > :24:10.also set to appear in They recorded 20 episodes

:24:11. > :24:13.of The Likely Lads. Only eight have survived,

:24:14. > :24:26.and this episode was only The Master real, they would then

:24:27. > :24:30.record again over the top of it. Don't take over my Top Of The Pops!

:24:31. > :24:36.Next Wednesday, we'll be winding back the clock

:24:37. > :24:41.But for now, let's get back to the future for the biggest
