5:14:20 > 5:14:27.

5:14:32 > 5:14:35In the recent Budget, we set out how we're backing those

5:14:35 > 5:14:37who work hard and want to get on.

5:14:37 > 5:14:40For people at work, for those starting businesses,

5:14:40 > 5:14:41or for those raising families,

5:14:41 > 5:14:44we're doing everything we can to help in these tough times.

5:14:44 > 5:14:49And that's what Conservatives in local government are doing, too -

5:14:49 > 5:14:52freezing council tax, cutting costs,

5:14:52 > 5:14:56protecting the services you rely on every day.

5:15:00 > 5:15:04The income tax? It's gone...down.

5:15:04 > 5:15:06I think the general perception is that it's gone up.

5:15:06 > 5:15:08It has gone down slightly under this government.

5:15:08 > 5:15:10I don't know, to be honest.

5:15:15 > 5:15:18- That does surprise me.- I've noticed that I'm paying less tax,

5:15:18 > 5:15:21and that's always helped me with living expenses and stuff like that.

5:15:21 > 5:15:25That's got to be an advantage to people on a lower wage.

5:15:30 > 5:15:34- I think it's gone down.- Up. - It's stayed about the same.

5:15:39 > 5:15:42It's does surprise me that the deficit has gone down.

5:15:42 > 5:15:44That's good news. It needs to go down.

5:15:44 > 5:15:46It does surprise me that it's gone down that amount.

5:15:51 > 5:15:56- Ooh, I'm not sure.- It has stayed the same as last year.- It's the same.

5:16:03 > 5:16:05I think it helps anyone who has to pay it.

5:16:05 > 5:16:07Council tax frozen is definitely good.

5:16:12 > 5:16:14I've noticed that petrol prices have gone down slightly.

5:16:14 > 5:16:18The equity loans for those buying new homes will help us.

5:16:23 > 5:16:25I do think the government's taking us in the right direction.

5:16:25 > 5:16:28Somebody has got to be strong enough to get us out of it.

5:16:28 > 5:16:30It was never, ever going to be an overnight job.

5:16:30 > 5:16:32It's Labour's problem. Labour did it.

5:16:32 > 5:16:34It was under their watch that we got such a massive deficit.

5:16:34 > 5:16:37I do genuinely believe that people are quite impressed.

5:16:37 > 5:16:39We've seen more jobs, we've seen tax go down.

5:16:39 > 5:16:43So the message is clear - we're dealing with the deficit.

5:16:43 > 5:16:47We're backing those who work hard and want to get on.

5:16:47 > 5:16:50And the choice at the local elections is clear, too -

5:16:50 > 5:16:56don't let Labour do to your council what they did to our country.

5:16:56 > 5:16:59If you want good government that costs less,

5:16:59 > 5:17:01that is careful with your money,

5:17:01 > 5:17:04then vote Conservative on the 2nd of May.
