2:49:28 > 2:49:32On May 2nd, you'll have the chance to vote for the people you want

2:49:32 > 2:49:34representing you in your county council.

2:49:34 > 2:49:37For decades, Liberal Democrat councillors have worked hard

2:49:37 > 2:49:41up and down the country to support you and your community,

2:49:41 > 2:49:43working hard for people just like you

2:49:43 > 2:49:47who care about making things better in your local area -

2:49:47 > 2:49:51whether it's creating jobs, or fighting to protect local services.

2:49:51 > 2:49:55Building a stronger economy in a fairer society,

2:49:55 > 2:49:57enabling everyone to get on in life.

2:49:57 > 2:50:01And it's because of the success of our Liberal Democrat councillors

2:50:01 > 2:50:04that we're now in government nationally too.

2:50:04 > 2:50:07And it's why our top priority in government has been to give you

2:50:07 > 2:50:11real help in tough times by cutting your income tax.

2:50:11 > 2:50:14If you're one of the millions of ordinary working people

2:50:14 > 2:50:18in the UK, we've cut your income tax by £600 a year

2:50:18 > 2:50:22since the last election, with more to come next year too.

2:50:22 > 2:50:25If I had an extra £600,

2:50:25 > 2:50:30I would put a bit extra towards my children's future education.

2:50:30 > 2:50:32I think now, with the knowledge

2:50:32 > 2:50:34that I had an extra £600 in my pay packet,

2:50:34 > 2:50:36I would start to think very carefully

2:50:36 > 2:50:38about not going to spend it on a whim.

2:50:38 > 2:50:42I think right now I'd be looking to set it against the future costs

2:50:42 > 2:50:45that I know, particularly around domestic fuel

2:50:45 > 2:50:48and house insurance, which I know are going to cost me more this year.

2:50:48 > 2:50:53I would pay off some of the debt, try and get out of our overdraft.

2:50:53 > 2:50:55That would probably go towards heating costs.

2:50:55 > 2:50:58Electric's gone up, gas has gone up

2:50:58 > 2:51:01and food, I think food's going to go up more,

2:51:01 > 2:51:03so £600 would be a great help.

2:51:04 > 2:51:09Yeah, listen, everyone is struggling, your margins are very tight.

2:51:09 > 2:51:14You don't earn as much as what you used to. You know, it's tough times.

2:51:14 > 2:51:16It's really hard.

2:51:16 > 2:51:19Liberal Democrats have cut taxes for millions of working people

2:51:19 > 2:51:24like you by £600 a year since the last election,

2:51:24 > 2:51:26with more to come next year.

2:51:26 > 2:51:29£600 off the income tax bill of the vast majority

2:51:29 > 2:51:32of taxpayers in Britain.

2:51:32 > 2:51:36If you earn the minimum wage, we have halved your income tax bill

2:51:36 > 2:51:39and if you're one of the 2.5 million people working tirelessly

2:51:39 > 2:51:44in the lowest paid jobs, you will no longer pay any income tax at all.

2:51:44 > 2:51:47In government and in local councils,

2:51:47 > 2:51:49Liberal Democrats are building a stronger economy

2:51:49 > 2:51:53and a fairer society, enabling everyone to get on in life.

2:51:53 > 2:51:56This will help so many people like myself

2:51:56 > 2:51:59and other families, other individuals out there

2:51:59 > 2:52:02that are striving and actually trying to contribute.
