2:00:00 > 2:00:00PARTY ELECTION BROADCAST NNB N550H/01 BRD000000

4:18:57 > 4:19:04.

4:19:16 > 4:19:18Liberal Democrats believe that everyone,

4:19:18 > 4:19:21whatever your background, wherever you live,

4:19:21 > 4:19:24should have the same opportunity to get on in life.

4:19:24 > 4:19:26That would make society fairer.

4:19:26 > 4:19:30And to build a fairer society, we need a stronger economy, too.

4:19:30 > 4:19:33So that there are the jobs and opportunities that you need.

4:19:33 > 4:19:37A stronger economy, a fairer society,

4:19:37 > 4:19:40enabling everyone to get on in life.

4:19:40 > 4:19:43That's why our top priority has been to cut income tax

4:19:43 > 4:19:45for millions of working people.

4:19:45 > 4:19:48More of your own money in your pocket every month.

4:19:48 > 4:19:51A promise Liberal Democrats made at the last election

4:19:51 > 4:19:53and have delivered in government.

4:19:53 > 4:19:58£600 a year for 24 million working people so far.

4:19:58 > 4:20:02If you earn the minimum wage we have halved your income tax bill.

4:20:02 > 4:20:05And if you work tirelessly in a low-paid job,

4:20:05 > 4:20:08you will no longer pay any income tax at all.

4:20:08 > 4:20:10I would use it probably mostly for the bills

4:20:10 > 4:20:13and probably for petrol and things like that.

4:20:13 > 4:20:15It would just make things a little bit easier.

4:20:15 > 4:20:19Just little household items, for instance,

4:20:19 > 4:20:21the gas, electricity, you know,

4:20:21 > 4:20:24to be a bit more comfortable, you know?

4:20:24 > 4:20:28It'll help to have this £600.

4:20:28 > 4:20:32Over the course of, say, a year, I would put it towards my savings

4:20:32 > 4:20:36and eventually want to buy a property at some point.

4:20:36 > 4:20:39So it would help a little bit to go towards that.

4:20:39 > 4:20:41That would be something very positive

4:20:41 > 4:20:44for a lots of families out there who are actually struggling

4:20:44 > 4:20:46and striving to make things better.

4:20:48 > 4:20:50I'd divide it up, first of all, and put it into

4:20:50 > 4:20:53each of my children's ISAs for their future.

4:20:53 > 4:20:56Every year, things are getting more and more expensive.

4:20:56 > 4:20:59So, by the time they are, you know, if they want to go to university,

4:20:59 > 4:21:00or put a deposit down on their house,

4:21:00 > 4:21:03then they'll be able to do that.

4:21:03 > 4:21:06It would take the worry out of paying my bills, basically.

4:21:06 > 4:21:09I could fall back on it if there were problems.

4:21:09 > 4:21:12Car insurance, house insurance.

4:21:12 > 4:21:13I don't think I would spend it.

4:21:13 > 4:21:15I would put it away and when I need it, urgently,

4:21:15 > 4:21:18then I'd get it out and use it.

4:21:18 > 4:21:21Liberal Democrats have cut taxes for millions of working people.

4:21:21 > 4:21:25Invested more money in schools to stop children falling behind.

4:21:25 > 4:21:28Created a record number of apprenticeships

4:21:28 > 4:21:32and ensured generous rises in the basic state pension.

4:21:32 > 4:21:34That's how we are building a stronger economy

4:21:34 > 4:21:36and a fairer society.

4:21:36 > 4:21:39The Conservatives on their own can't be relied upon

4:21:39 > 4:21:41to make society fairer.

4:21:41 > 4:21:45And Labour certainly can't be relied upon to build a stronger economy.

4:21:45 > 4:21:49Only the liberal Democrats can build a stronger economy

4:21:49 > 4:21:53and a fairer society, enabling everyone to get on in life.
