0:00:17 > 0:00:20Unfortunately, there's a lot of families,

0:00:20 > 0:00:23in particular younger families, who are struggling.

0:00:24 > 0:00:28For a considerable period of time, I was a single parent,

0:00:28 > 0:00:31and you have to manage and you have to sort of budget.

0:00:31 > 0:00:35You have to count the pennies and you have to make decisions

0:00:35 > 0:00:37about what becomes a luxury

0:00:37 > 0:00:39as opposed to a necessity.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42And again, speaking to a lot of working parents,

0:00:42 > 0:00:44they're facing redundancy, job insecurity,

0:00:44 > 0:00:47and some working women are making really tough decisions.

0:00:52 > 0:00:53Ready?

0:01:03 > 0:01:06We're taking Joseph to school.

0:01:06 > 0:01:07His school is about eight miles away.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12We rely on, er...

0:01:12 > 0:01:15decent-priced fuel to enable us to carry out basic, everyday tasks,

0:01:15 > 0:01:18especially taking your child to school,

0:01:18 > 0:01:22where you want to educate them to make sure

0:01:22 > 0:01:25that they get, you know, the best start in life possible.

0:01:25 > 0:01:29And if you're struggling to get them there in the first place,

0:01:29 > 0:01:32then that has a huge impact on a working family.

0:01:43 > 0:01:46'He's lucky, as most children in Wales are,

0:01:46 > 0:01:48'in that they benefit from a free breakfast.'

0:01:48 > 0:01:51The Welsh government's commitment to this

0:01:51 > 0:01:54means that working families can stay in work

0:01:54 > 0:01:58rather than make a stark choice of having to give up their job

0:01:58 > 0:02:03simply because they can't afford to look after their children.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07I feel that the other parties are not doing enough.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10Right now, because of the austerity cuts

0:02:10 > 0:02:14and the way in which central government is operating, I am worried

0:02:14 > 0:02:15about, er, Joseph's future.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18However, with Welsh Labour,

0:02:18 > 0:02:20and their policies around education,

0:02:20 > 0:02:23their policies around challenging youth unemployment,

0:02:23 > 0:02:25around Skills for Life,

0:02:25 > 0:02:27then I know that they are going to help make a difference

0:02:27 > 0:02:29to Joseph's life for the future.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32On May 3rd, this is your chance to vote, to make a difference,

0:02:32 > 0:02:37not just for you, but for your family and for everyone else in Wales.
