0:00:30 > 0:00:33I'm a student at Cardiff University, and my fellow students and I

0:00:33 > 0:00:37were so angry when we found out that the Tory and Lib Dem government

0:00:37 > 0:00:41were going to increase tuition fees to such a sky-high level.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44In what way is Welsh Labour doing things differently?

0:00:44 > 0:00:45I'll bet you were angry,

0:00:45 > 0:00:48after what was said before the 2010 general election.

0:00:48 > 0:00:52What we've decided to do is to keep student tuition fees where they are

0:00:52 > 0:00:55so that students from Wales, whether they study in Wales

0:00:55 > 0:01:01or outside Wales, won't have to pay those £7,000 fees or £9,000 fees.

0:01:01 > 0:01:05We know that the Lib Dems will say anything to get elected.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08We want to make sure that people see that we have a manifesto,

0:01:08 > 0:01:11that we make promises and then of course that we keep those promises.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21I'm a volunteer at the Moorland Road Community Centre

0:01:21 > 0:01:23that's recently opened in Splott.

0:01:23 > 0:01:26Since we've been running it's been a vital service for the elderly.

0:01:26 > 0:01:30I was wondering what else Welsh Labour could do to protect our vulnerable people.

0:01:30 > 0:01:34Well, of course the centre was closed by the Lib Dem council

0:01:34 > 0:01:37and reopened with volunteers, and volunteers are so important,

0:01:37 > 0:01:39they're at the heart of our communities in Wales,

0:01:39 > 0:01:44and we have in place schemes that help people to become volunteers

0:01:44 > 0:01:45and make a real contribution

0:01:45 > 0:01:48to the lives of their communities and help so many vulnerable people.

0:01:48 > 0:01:51We want to make sure, of course,

0:01:51 > 0:01:54that we have a health service that looks after people,

0:01:54 > 0:01:58that people have access to social services that are right for them.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01If you look at older people, we have free bus passes, of course,

0:02:01 > 0:02:06we have the health checks for the over-50s that we're introducing.

0:02:06 > 0:02:10We want to make sure that people can enjoy the later stages of their lives

0:02:10 > 0:02:12without having to worry too much.

0:02:12 > 0:02:15That's not the message they're getting from the UK government.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18You saw what happened with the tax changes for older people

0:02:18 > 0:02:21in the Budget, and we very much value the fact that older people,

0:02:21 > 0:02:24who've made such a contribution to society over the years,

0:02:24 > 0:02:28that we want to make sure that they can enjoy their retirement.

0:02:32 > 0:02:36On the 3rd of May, there are important elections in Wales.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38Come out then and vote Labour

0:02:38 > 0:02:41to make sure that more councils in Wales stand up for Wales.
