0:00:02 > 0:00:07Imagine packing up your life, and leaving behind all you hold dear

0:00:07 > 0:00:09to move to the other side of the world.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12Could you make that heart-wrenching decision?

0:00:12 > 0:00:17In 2009, that's what lay ahead for the Boyd family when we gave them

0:00:17 > 0:00:20the opportunity to sample life in Australia.

0:00:20 > 0:00:25Today we're paying them a visit to discover what decision they made.

0:00:25 > 0:00:29Did they stay in the UK or did they move Down Under?

0:00:29 > 0:00:35The Boyd family from Ayrshire had been agonising over a move to Australia for many years.

0:00:35 > 0:00:38A lot of people think, "It's simple, just pack up and

0:00:38 > 0:00:41"move off somewhere nicer than where you live." It's not that easy.

0:00:41 > 0:00:45They'd struggled to find the property of their dreams.

0:00:45 > 0:00:49I've got an image in my head of what I'm looking for and this just isn't it.

0:00:49 > 0:00:55And Naomi got very upset at the thought of leaving loved ones she may never see again.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57It hits me the most with my nana, to be honest with you,

0:00:57 > 0:01:00because, as I say, I don't think I'll see her, so...

0:01:00 > 0:01:02Sorry, I keep crying.

0:01:02 > 0:01:08It was a massive decision that left the family divided.

0:01:08 > 0:01:14This scares me because I instigated it I've built up everybody's hopes and I might shatter the lot.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18What did they decide and where are they now?

0:01:39 > 0:01:45In 2009 the Boyds from Ayrshire were faced with a life-changing decision.

0:01:45 > 0:01:49Whether to stay in Scotland or move halfway round the world.

0:01:49 > 0:01:55We gave them one week to experience every aspect of life in Australia.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57But what happened next?

0:01:57 > 0:02:02James and Naomi Boyd and sons Kieren and Dylan

0:02:02 > 0:02:03lived in Ayrshire and spent

0:02:03 > 0:02:05many years considering a move to Australia.

0:02:05 > 0:02:11It was initially my idea. Like I say, I'm the one that's always kind of fancied doing a shift abroad.

0:02:11 > 0:02:15It took James ten years to persuade me to actually want to go,

0:02:15 > 0:02:17but since last year, I've really pushed for it

0:02:17 > 0:02:19and it's me who's the leading force, really.

0:02:19 > 0:02:25The neighbourhood in Stevenson has seen some changes over the last few years and that worried Naomi.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28The area that we live in used to be a really good area.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30It was a fantastic place.

0:02:30 > 0:02:35Over, though, I'd say the past ten to 15 years it has just declined.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38Now it's a knife culture and a drug culture.

0:02:38 > 0:02:41There's nowhere really you can take the kids which is safe anymore.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43My fear is, staying here,

0:02:43 > 0:02:46my kids are eventually going to become either a victim of it

0:02:46 > 0:02:49or one of them I don't want my kids to become another statistic.

0:02:49 > 0:02:52I don't want to be here to let that happen.

0:02:52 > 0:02:58Although desperate to go, the Boyds were torn by the idea of leaving loved ones behind.

0:02:58 > 0:03:02The biggest person who I'm going to miss is definitely going to be my nana.

0:03:02 > 0:03:07She raised me - up until my dad remarried. She's in her 80s now and if we go to Australia,

0:03:07 > 0:03:13I probably won't get to see her again, cos she would never be able to make that flight.

0:03:13 > 0:03:17She wouldn't be able to do the journey and I don't know when we would first be able to

0:03:17 > 0:03:22get back here and if something happened to her then, I'm the other side of the world, that's hard.

0:03:22 > 0:03:24Sorry...

0:03:27 > 0:03:29Just, I wonder...

0:03:29 > 0:03:33Like I say, I've got my doubts kicking in, but I'm just wondering

0:03:33 > 0:03:36have I done the right thing trying to talk Naomi into this because

0:03:36 > 0:03:40I see how upset she gets and obviously this upsets me.

0:03:40 > 0:03:41It's my wife.

0:03:41 > 0:03:45So on top of my own stuff, there's this.

0:03:45 > 0:03:50Already torn between staying or going the week in Oz looking for their new life,

0:03:50 > 0:03:53would push them to their limits.

0:03:57 > 0:04:04To help James, Naomi and the boys consider the huge risk they'll be taking, we sent them to Darwin,

0:04:04 > 0:04:08in the Northern Territory where they had the opportunity to sample

0:04:08 > 0:04:11the lifestyle for just one week.

0:04:11 > 0:04:18The 24-hour flight was a mammoth trip. Having landed in Darwin in the early hours with two small children,

0:04:18 > 0:04:21the long journey had Naomi and James worried.

0:04:23 > 0:04:27- Tired.- That was an experience and a half.- Knackered.

0:04:27 > 0:04:30I was just saying that would take something

0:04:30 > 0:04:33if we were making visits back and forth every year to the UK.

0:04:33 > 0:04:36- That would take its toll, that would. - Definitely not.

0:04:36 > 0:04:39Making their way to their rented accommodation,

0:04:39 > 0:04:41they desperately needed something to cheer them up.

0:04:41 > 0:04:45Luckily, the flat lived up to their expectations of life in Australia.

0:04:45 > 0:04:47Let's have a wee look.

0:04:47 > 0:04:49- This is nice.- Wow!

0:04:49 > 0:04:52- It's huge, isn't it?- It's not half!

0:04:52 > 0:04:54Look at the TV!

0:04:54 > 0:04:57It was the TV that caught my imagination as well.

0:04:57 > 0:04:59I could see me happy here.

0:04:59 > 0:05:03Right here. Beer in hand. I didn't expect this.

0:05:06 > 0:05:10In the UK, James and Naomi live in Stevenson near Glasgow.

0:05:10 > 0:05:13They bought their house in 2006

0:05:13 > 0:05:15for just under £100,000,

0:05:15 > 0:05:19but they knew their finances would be stretched

0:05:19 > 0:05:21to afford their dream home in Australia.

0:05:21 > 0:05:24I don't know if we're living in cloud cuckoo land just now

0:05:24 > 0:05:27- but we'll be looking at a big house. - Four bedrooms, detached house.

0:05:27 > 0:05:32With two bathrooms, a driveway, with a garage and a small pool.

0:05:32 > 0:05:34I don't ask for much.

0:05:34 > 0:05:38With the Boyds expecting to have a budget of around £115,000,

0:05:38 > 0:05:40we showed them three very different properties,

0:05:40 > 0:05:44to give them an idea of what Darwin had to offer.

0:05:44 > 0:05:48Property one was a two-bedroom, one bathroom semi-detached

0:05:48 > 0:05:52in the suburb of Brinkin. Despite being within their budget,

0:05:52 > 0:05:55in 2009,

0:05:55 > 0:06:00they weren't convinced this was worth leaving the UK for.

0:06:01 > 0:06:03It's the open plan, what I wanted.

0:06:03 > 0:06:07I envisioned just a slightly bigger...

0:06:07 > 0:06:09It's a fair old sized bedroom.

0:06:09 > 0:06:11- Do you think?- I do, aye.

0:06:11 > 0:06:15It's a good size room for one, for one child, but not for two children.

0:06:15 > 0:06:19This'll be the master bedroom, then, eh?

0:06:19 > 0:06:22It is smaller than we've got back home, but...

0:06:22 > 0:06:26I'd want another bedroom... Actually, I'd want another two bedrooms.

0:06:26 > 0:06:29- It's just not...- Definitely not. - Not going to be for us.

0:06:29 > 0:06:31I'd like a wee bit bigger.

0:06:31 > 0:06:35God, I'm just for saying, "I want this, I want that." So demanding.

0:06:35 > 0:06:36You'd want it a bit bigger?

0:06:36 > 0:06:39You have to come out the bedroom, to get out the back door.

0:06:39 > 0:06:44If you had people over for a barbecue, you'd all be traipsing through the bedroom,

0:06:44 > 0:06:46which I don't like the idea of that.

0:06:46 > 0:06:52I imagined all Australian houses to be really big and it's a bit of a shock that it is that small.

0:06:52 > 0:06:55It's nice, but a lot smaller than I imagined it would be.

0:06:55 > 0:07:00Yeah, I think I've got an image in my head of what I'm looking for and this just isn't it.

0:07:00 > 0:07:04So far, they were disappointed at how little their money would buy

0:07:04 > 0:07:06Would property two be more up their street?

0:07:06 > 0:07:10This three-bedroom house in nearby Durack was larger

0:07:10 > 0:07:13and a bit more expensive at £200,000.

0:07:13 > 0:07:16This certainly had them both excited about their future in Australia.

0:07:16 > 0:07:19- Do you like this, Kieren? - Yeah.- This is nice, isn't it?

0:07:19 > 0:07:21This is really nice, isn't it?

0:07:21 > 0:07:24Take a wee look down here, Kieren.

0:07:24 > 0:07:27It's got everything you need and there's the double wardrobe as well.

0:07:27 > 0:07:32This is exactly what I have been talking about. I like this.

0:07:32 > 0:07:35Oh, this is a garden, isn't it?

0:07:35 > 0:07:38- Oh, James, look. - This is just an added bonus.

0:07:38 > 0:07:41- Look at that.- I could move in here, no bother.

0:07:41 > 0:07:45It's just perfect. There's a big barbecuing space there too.

0:07:45 > 0:07:49- You and this barbecue, oh! - It's just part of it.

0:07:49 > 0:07:54Aye, I could picture us quite happily being here.

0:07:54 > 0:07:59Although I really want to do this, it's going to take a special house to kind of tempt me.

0:07:59 > 0:08:03That's what I've said. There's no point in doing it if we're not going to get

0:08:03 > 0:08:07the full package. The house has got to be an important part of it, and this...

0:08:07 > 0:08:13It's just that the whole area just looks so safe and secure and, like you say, peaceful, quiet.

0:08:13 > 0:08:16With them both won over by the property,

0:08:16 > 0:08:20it seemed they were on their way to finding their dream home.

0:08:20 > 0:08:26Property three in Palmerston was a glamorous but unusual four-bed house on stilts

0:08:26 > 0:08:30with most of the rooms upstairs. At around £270,000

0:08:30 > 0:08:32in 2009, it was outside

0:08:32 > 0:08:36their budget. They would both have to work full-time

0:08:36 > 0:08:39to be able to aspire to this dream property.

0:08:39 > 0:08:43- What do you think? - Wow!- It's gorgeous, isn't it?

0:08:43 > 0:08:45Aye. I could see myself living here.

0:08:47 > 0:08:49This is the kind of size I was hoping for most definitely.

0:08:49 > 0:08:53- It's huge. - It's a nice big room as well.

0:08:53 > 0:08:56Could fit your double bed in here, no bother.

0:08:56 > 0:08:58Eh? It's another great big bedroom, isn't it?

0:08:58 > 0:08:59- They're all good sized rooms, aren't they?- They are.

0:08:59 > 0:09:02They were both impressed at first, but it turned out

0:09:02 > 0:09:05this was only one person's idea of a dream house.

0:09:05 > 0:09:09I didn't want a house that was up in the air,

0:09:09 > 0:09:11an upstairs/downstairs house.

0:09:11 > 0:09:16For me, what I'm looking for is a all in one bungalow-type house.

0:09:16 > 0:09:19It's not the image I've had of my dream house.

0:09:19 > 0:09:22It's not. I know I'm really too fussy.

0:09:22 > 0:09:25This is what I imagined an Australian house to be.

0:09:25 > 0:09:27This is my kind of house.

0:09:27 > 0:09:29Look at the size of that pool.

0:09:29 > 0:09:34One thing you really was a great big pool Look at that.

0:09:34 > 0:09:36- That would be good. - That would be good.

0:09:36 > 0:09:40- Oh, look.- It's sold to you then.

0:09:42 > 0:09:45It's absolutely stunning, it's just not my kind of house at all.

0:09:45 > 0:09:48I don't like the fact it's up on stilts.

0:09:48 > 0:09:52I want everything to be down on the ground, I want the kids to play

0:09:52 > 0:09:55and I can supervise them, whereas if I were upstairs

0:09:55 > 0:09:57I couldn't do that.

0:09:57 > 0:09:59The pool's not blocked off from the grass

0:09:59 > 0:10:01so the kids couldn't play here on their own.

0:10:01 > 0:10:05This house would be absolutely ideal for me.

0:10:05 > 0:10:07This has got everything that I could ever want.

0:10:07 > 0:10:10It's a nice, big modern house.

0:10:10 > 0:10:15Who's not going to want a swimming pool like this and a bar next to it?

0:10:15 > 0:10:18This is just everything I imagined in a house.

0:10:18 > 0:10:21James was truly struck by the third house

0:10:21 > 0:10:24but Naomi was far from convinced,

0:10:24 > 0:10:25leaving her in turmoil over the move.

0:10:25 > 0:10:29I don't want to have something I'm not completely happy with.

0:10:29 > 0:10:31To move to the opposite side of the world

0:10:31 > 0:10:34there's no point in doing it by half. There's no point coming here

0:10:34 > 0:10:37if you won't get that dream life.

0:10:37 > 0:10:41The dream house has got to be able that so...very important.

0:10:41 > 0:10:43They've seen three different houses

0:10:43 > 0:10:47that have split the family about where they'd want to live.

0:10:47 > 0:10:50The first property was a massive disappointment.

0:10:50 > 0:10:52The second was a bit pricey but ticked all the boxes

0:10:52 > 0:10:56and though the third property was James's dream house,

0:10:56 > 0:10:59Naomi wasn't convinced. Would the vote for property in the UK

0:10:59 > 0:11:03versus Australia leave them divided or united?

0:11:03 > 0:11:06Based on what we've seen today, our vote goes to...

0:11:09 > 0:11:11Australia.

0:11:12 > 0:11:14- UK.- Australia.

0:11:16 > 0:11:20- So...UK? Really? - None of them have been outstanding.

0:11:20 > 0:11:23In my eyes, number two would probably be the best house.

0:11:23 > 0:11:28It was great, but it was still only three bedrooms, so I don't see the point

0:11:28 > 0:11:31in coming way over here just to have exactly what we've got back home.

0:11:31 > 0:11:34I think, to be honest, the last one was amazing.

0:11:34 > 0:11:37We're never going to get a pool at our back door in the UK.

0:11:37 > 0:11:42- No, I know, but... - Just, we're never going to have an opportunity like that.

0:11:42 > 0:11:45The Boyds have very different ideas of a dream house.

0:11:46 > 0:11:49As the week passed, the reality of living Down Under drove them

0:11:49 > 0:11:50even further apart.

0:11:50 > 0:11:53He's going to find it a lot harder than he thinks he is.

0:11:53 > 0:11:59He puts on this brave face and says no, it'll be find this is what he really wants

0:11:59 > 0:12:02but I do think he's going to struggle.

0:12:02 > 0:12:04Possibly, he's going to find it the hardest of us all.

0:12:07 > 0:12:11Back in Scotland, Naomi worked as a mental health nurse.

0:12:11 > 0:12:14As the main income earner, she was anxious about her career prospects

0:12:14 > 0:12:16in Australia.

0:12:16 > 0:12:19There is a lot of opportunties for a mental health nurse,

0:12:19 > 0:12:21particularly in some of their state hospitals.

0:12:21 > 0:12:23One of my biggest fears, though,

0:12:23 > 0:12:25is over there they have different legislation.

0:12:25 > 0:12:29'They've got a different style of nursing over there

0:12:29 > 0:12:32'so it's quite scary to think I'd be starting from fresh.

0:12:32 > 0:12:36Keen to allay fears about starting her career in Australia,

0:12:36 > 0:12:40Naomi had arranged some work experience in Darwin's main mental health unit.

0:12:40 > 0:12:42I just want a job that is going to challenge me.

0:12:42 > 0:12:47I want something that will keep me on my toes and allow me to learn every single day,

0:12:47 > 0:12:51so I'm quite apprehensive about going in and starting a new job,

0:12:51 > 0:12:55because it'll be like I'm a newly qualified nurse again starting off from scratch.

0:12:57 > 0:13:01- Why don't you come through and I'll show you around?- That's great.

0:13:01 > 0:13:03After you.

0:13:03 > 0:13:08So just come through here and I'll show you some of the more common medications that we use.

0:13:10 > 0:13:13You're probably familiar with this medication.

0:13:13 > 0:13:15- We've got a few people on that. - It's used around the world.

0:13:15 > 0:13:19It's one of the newer atypical anti-psychotic medications.

0:13:19 > 0:13:23- You'll be very familiar with them when you come out here.- That makes it a bit easier, I suppose.

0:13:23 > 0:13:27As the main child carer, James's concern was to make sure

0:13:27 > 0:13:31the children settled quickly, so he could start work in Australia.

0:13:31 > 0:13:33Once we've found somewhere to live,

0:13:33 > 0:13:36I'd like to spend time getting the house sorted out,

0:13:36 > 0:13:39spend some time with the kids and make sure we get them settled

0:13:39 > 0:13:42before I start looking properly at my career again, I think.

0:13:42 > 0:13:44The little playgroup gave him the chance

0:13:44 > 0:13:47to see what was available for the children.

0:13:47 > 0:13:49- Nice to meet you. I'm James. - I'm Marie.

0:13:49 > 0:13:51- Nice to meet you.- How are you? - Good, thanks.

0:13:51 > 0:13:54Is it quite often that everyone meets up like this?

0:13:54 > 0:13:59We have the playgroup every week, every Friday afternoon, so there's playgroups

0:13:59 > 0:14:02that run all week, any time of the day, whether morning or afternoon.

0:14:02 > 0:14:06- I'll introduce you to a couple of the girls.- Fantastic, thank you.

0:14:06 > 0:14:09Bridget, I'd like to introduce James.

0:14:09 > 0:14:13- Nice to meet you. I'm James.- With the kids quickly finding their feet

0:14:13 > 0:14:17James was relieved that being a house hubby might not be so lonely.

0:14:17 > 0:14:20Exactly the same as me. I'm a home dad,

0:14:20 > 0:14:22my girlfriend's a full-time nurse

0:14:22 > 0:14:26so it's exactly the same.

0:14:26 > 0:14:29I only work once or twice a week on Sunset Cruise boats.

0:14:29 > 0:14:32A situation like that is absolutely ideal.

0:14:32 > 0:14:37Everyone was really chatty, really friendly and helpful. Just great.

0:14:37 > 0:14:41Naomi had to tackle the thorny subject of pay.

0:14:41 > 0:14:43With James worried about their money situation,

0:14:43 > 0:14:47it was crucial her job paid enough to cover the bills,

0:14:47 > 0:14:49otherwise the dream was over.

0:14:49 > 0:14:53Could you tell me a bit about the pay you get over here

0:14:53 > 0:14:57- for nurses?- Because nurses are in demand in Australia,

0:14:57 > 0:15:01the pay is pretty reasonable. Depending on your experience, you can earn

0:15:01 > 0:15:05between 60,000, up to 100,000/120,000 a year for the senior positions

0:15:05 > 0:15:07in admin and management.

0:15:07 > 0:15:11With the salary of between £30,000 and £60,000 and job opportunities,

0:15:11 > 0:15:16it looked promising for Naomi. How did she vote on job prospects?

0:15:16 > 0:15:20Will she carry on nursing in the UK or Down Under in Australia?

0:15:20 > 0:15:25Based on the work experience and meeting Steve and everybody else at the centre, my vote goes to...

0:15:27 > 0:15:30Australia.

0:15:30 > 0:15:33Although Naomi was being won over by Australia,

0:15:33 > 0:15:37James was having huge doubts that would put the move at risk.

0:15:38 > 0:15:43James has been having a difficult time of it, really, to be honest with you.

0:15:43 > 0:15:47He was the one who obviously initiated this all them years ago,

0:15:47 > 0:15:51but it's me who's more been pushing lately for us to get over here.

0:15:51 > 0:15:54Now he's here, I think he's kind of stuck between being really excited

0:15:54 > 0:15:57and thinking, yeah, this could be a reality,

0:15:57 > 0:16:01but then ever so often, he thinks, "What about this? And what about that?"

0:16:01 > 0:16:05It's normally me with a sensible head, but it's him who's taken over that.

0:16:05 > 0:16:08I think it's a bit of a struggle for him at the moment.

0:16:08 > 0:16:11If James changes his mind and says, no, he doesn't want to,

0:16:11 > 0:16:14then I really, honest to God, don't know where that would leave us.

0:16:14 > 0:16:16I don't.

0:16:21 > 0:16:25In the UK, the Boyds own a three-bedroom house on the coast near Glasgow.

0:16:25 > 0:16:29It had been on the market for £115,000 for quite some time,

0:16:29 > 0:16:36but it hadn't sold. In 2009, We sent two estate agents around to find out its value.

0:16:36 > 0:16:38The Boyds knew that what they were about to watch

0:16:38 > 0:16:41was crucial to realising their Australian dream.

0:16:42 > 0:16:45It looks dead dreary.

0:16:48 > 0:16:52A good-sized lounge, front and rear facing. That's good, plenty of light.

0:16:54 > 0:16:57It has everything that a family needs.

0:16:58 > 0:17:00Don't open the cupboards!

0:17:00 > 0:17:03Oh, God, she is going into the cupboards.

0:17:04 > 0:17:07Good-sized double bedroom. Good-sized second bedroom.

0:17:07 > 0:17:08Bathroom's OK size.

0:17:08 > 0:17:12'Not too bad. A little bit dated.'

0:17:12 > 0:17:16I think the property's well proportioned. It's in good condition, good selling order.

0:17:16 > 0:17:21The only problem I would say would be that there are quite a few similar properties on the market.

0:17:21 > 0:17:2485 should be a quick sale price.

0:17:24 > 0:17:2790? I think it stands a good chance to achieve that price.

0:17:28 > 0:17:33If we're looking to move this one on very quickly, then £85,000

0:17:33 > 0:17:36would be a very realistic price.

0:17:36 > 0:17:40No. No way. No way.

0:17:40 > 0:17:42You wouldn't have said that a year ago.

0:17:42 > 0:17:48A year ago our property would have sold for £115,000, and fair do's, it's the recession and...

0:17:48 > 0:17:51- But a £30,000 of a drop, not a chance.- No.

0:17:51 > 0:17:56- We bought it for more than that, so we'll lose on it as it is. - We're already losing all our equity.

0:17:56 > 0:18:00After the crushing news that their house was worth less than they'd thought,

0:18:00 > 0:18:02they had to do some serious sums

0:18:02 > 0:18:05to see if this move to Australia was even possible.

0:18:05 > 0:18:11- We can see if it's feasible just on your wage.- Just on my wage, and then we can add in yours.

0:18:11 > 0:18:16- If we need that at the end.- See, I've got something in my head. It's around about 200.- No!- Maybe just...

0:18:16 > 0:18:19- No, no. This is working out...- That's expensive.

0:18:19 > 0:18:23- ..almost twice as much as we pay back home.- Your insurance is expensive.

0:18:23 > 0:18:27So yeah, we're £650 a month at the moment for our mortgage back home,

0:18:27 > 0:18:31so that would be looking at £1,000 a month for our mortgage.

0:18:31 > 0:18:33So we're £350 worse off then.

0:18:33 > 0:18:36Which isn't great, but there you go!

0:18:36 > 0:18:41- It's not that. It's something that we've not really thought much about yet.- That's a lot of tax to pay.

0:18:41 > 0:18:43A lot of tax. 10,000 quid a year?!

0:18:43 > 0:18:48Which means my money is going to be less than I initially thought.

0:18:48 > 0:18:54- No, that's double. It's double out here.- Double what I'm paying at the moment.- That's private medical.

0:18:54 > 0:18:59- I'm only want to do this for a wee while until I settle. I want to work full time.- I don't want you to.

0:18:59 > 0:19:05- I think I would eventually go mad if I was a stay-at-home dad constant. I think I would need to work.- Mm.

0:19:05 > 0:19:07I'm just shocked. I honestly didn't expect this.

0:19:07 > 0:19:13To me, it's a risk worth taking if, at the end of the day, we get to live over here.

0:19:13 > 0:19:17Naomi and James were really hit hard by the true costs of living Down Under

0:19:17 > 0:19:21It looked as if the move would be too much of a financial strain.

0:19:21 > 0:19:25With so much uncertainty, how did they vote?

0:19:25 > 0:19:29So after looking at the facts and figures and the cost of things

0:19:29 > 0:19:32in Australia and the cost of living, our vote is...

0:19:36 > 0:19:38- UK.- Australia.

0:19:40 > 0:19:41I ken you'd say that.

0:19:42 > 0:19:46And on top of their financial worries about moving to Australia,

0:19:46 > 0:19:50Naomi's plan to be the main breadwinner had them at loggerheads with each other.

0:19:52 > 0:19:57'Naomi, to be honest, has this grand plan that I'm going to be a permanent'

0:19:57 > 0:20:02live-at-home husband if we can get away with it financially and it's just not going to happen.

0:20:02 > 0:20:07'I don't see any point in making a big, huge change, coming halfway across the world, basically,'

0:20:07 > 0:20:12to just have the same life when me and James are working opposite shifts. We don't see the kids.

0:20:12 > 0:20:16- 'The kids are with a childminder. I don't want to do that. - Naomi would love me to be there

0:20:16 > 0:20:18'to constantly see to the kids,

0:20:18 > 0:20:25'to have their meals ready, and she knows I'm a clean freak, so she knows the house would always be spotless,'

0:20:25 > 0:20:29but it's just not going to happen that way at all. It couldn't happen that way.

0:20:29 > 0:20:35'It is going to be hard for him, and I've said this umpteen times. He'll find it harder than he thinks.'

0:20:35 > 0:20:41He puts on this brave face and says, "No, it will be fine. It will be OK once we get there," but I do think

0:20:41 > 0:20:46he's going to struggle with it and I think, possibly, he's going to find it the hardest out of us all.

0:20:46 > 0:20:49'I didn't sleep last night for worrying about this because

0:20:49 > 0:20:53'I've only told Naomi so far I'm upset at things being a lot more expensive

0:20:53 > 0:20:57'than I thought they were initially. She doesn't even know

0:20:57 > 0:21:00'I'm having major doubts yet. She knows I'm on the fence,

0:21:00 > 0:21:03'but I don't think she realises how much this has really shocked me.'

0:21:03 > 0:21:06This scares me because I've instigated it

0:21:06 > 0:21:10and I've built everybody's hopes up, and I might shatter the lot.

0:21:14 > 0:21:18In 2009, ahead of making their final decision,

0:21:18 > 0:21:24we showed the Boyds some heartfelt messages from their loved ones back home.

0:21:26 > 0:21:28Hi, Naomi. Hi, James.

0:21:28 > 0:21:31Hello, Naomi and James.

0:21:31 > 0:21:36James is a great boy. We never had a minute's worry with him.

0:21:36 > 0:21:41He's a brilliant father. Family orientated, too.

0:21:41 > 0:21:45Very cheeky. Very sarcastic humour, but just...

0:21:45 > 0:21:48so endearing that you can't help but like her.

0:21:48 > 0:21:51I think I'll really miss her if she's not here when I have my baby.

0:21:51 > 0:21:55I don't want to start crying!

0:21:55 > 0:21:58When she said it would be a better life, I was agreeable with it.

0:21:58 > 0:22:00I think it's the right thing to do.

0:22:00 > 0:22:04Cliff said to me, "You'll have to save your money and we'll go and see her."

0:22:04 > 0:22:07But I don't know whether I'll be able to or not.

0:22:10 > 0:22:13I've got very mixed emotions, to be honest.

0:22:13 > 0:22:19On the one hand, I think it will be a great new life for them and I would never do anything to hold them back,

0:22:19 > 0:22:21but at the same time I know I'm going to miss them.

0:22:21 > 0:22:26Part of me wants to say, "Yes" and the other part, "No" because we'll miss them. Sorry.

0:22:29 > 0:22:31But for them, I think it's the right thing.

0:22:31 > 0:22:33Remember, we're always here for you.

0:22:33 > 0:22:38Whatever you decide, it's down to you so put that flag whatever way you want it to go.

0:22:38 > 0:22:40I do miss you.

0:22:40 > 0:22:44I've thought about this for a long, long time.

0:22:45 > 0:22:51I've sat everywhere thinking about this. I'm missing yous big time,

0:22:51 > 0:22:53Kieren and Dylan.

0:22:53 > 0:22:57I hope you like Australia, and if you do...

0:23:00 > 0:23:05..I wouldn't be happy to lose you, but I'd be glad if it's going to be a different life for you.

0:23:05 > 0:23:10I'll miss you, but you keep in touch now.

0:23:11 > 0:23:13Don't cry, Nana.

0:23:14 > 0:23:19You know we're going to miss you all, we wish you all the best.

0:23:19 > 0:23:23And we know whatever decision yous make, it will be the right one for yous.

0:23:23 > 0:23:26We love you all.

0:23:29 > 0:23:30Was that hard?

0:23:32 > 0:23:35My mum and my dad are usually a bit of a closed book.

0:23:35 > 0:23:39To see them upset like that, it's not something that I will see often.

0:23:39 > 0:23:42I don't think seeing people upset would stop me going because

0:23:42 > 0:23:46I think, in their heart of hearts, they would want us to come here.

0:23:46 > 0:23:50I don't want any of them getting upset. I suppose it's unavoidable.

0:23:50 > 0:23:56It hits me the most about my nana to be honest with you because I don't think I'll see her.

0:23:56 > 0:23:58I'm sorry, I keep crying.

0:24:00 > 0:24:02She's upset. >

0:24:03 > 0:24:06After a week of so many challenges,

0:24:06 > 0:24:10the Boyds still had a lot of problems to overcome.

0:24:10 > 0:24:14Each one had different ideas of where they would like to live.

0:24:14 > 0:24:20Their financial plans looked to be in trouble and job prospects had them arguing over their future.

0:24:20 > 0:24:25James has been so hard to read. I thought I knew what was going on in his head.

0:24:25 > 0:24:28Obviously I've not got a clue. I really couldn't say which way he is going to vote.

0:24:28 > 0:24:31The place hasn't failed to disappoint. It's gorgeous.

0:24:31 > 0:24:36The life outside our working commitments looks fantastic

0:24:36 > 0:24:39and everything that I ever imagined for myself and my family,

0:24:39 > 0:24:41it just looks terrific.

0:24:41 > 0:24:44It's the hardest decision we've had to make in our lives.

0:24:44 > 0:24:49We're talking about uprooting the kids away from their families, from their friends, from their school,

0:24:49 > 0:24:52from everything they know. This is such a hard decision.

0:24:52 > 0:24:57I wouldn't get to see my friends ever again, but I'll make new friends, for sure.

0:24:57 > 0:25:02It was time for the final vote and the family was in turmoil about making the move.

0:25:02 > 0:25:05Their entire future hung on this decision,

0:25:05 > 0:25:10so which way did they vote? Stay in the UK or relocate to the other side of the world?

0:25:10 > 0:25:16We've been in Australia for a week, we've got to experience the lifestyle, jobs and houses.

0:25:16 > 0:25:19So, based on that, our vote goes to...

0:25:22 > 0:25:24- ..Australia.- Australia.

0:25:24 > 0:25:26UK.

0:25:27 > 0:25:30I think we should start a, "We hate Daddy club", what do you think?

0:25:30 > 0:25:32Yeah, maybe we should.

0:25:32 > 0:25:39- I didn't know how to say to yous that this is what I was kinda leaning towards.- What is your reasons for it?

0:25:39 > 0:25:41I don't know that we can come here and comfortably live.

0:25:41 > 0:25:44I think we came this far. We would be absolutely stupid,

0:25:44 > 0:25:46and we'd always regret it if we didn't try it.

0:25:46 > 0:25:48I just don't know if we could afford to come now.

0:25:48 > 0:25:54I'm definitely not staying where I live, at all, so either way we will be moving away from there.

0:25:54 > 0:26:00The whole move had been driven by James after he'd convinced Naomi their future was in Australia.

0:26:00 > 0:26:03However, the week down under completely changed his mind.

0:26:03 > 0:26:07But with Naomi won over by Australia, it created a lot of tension between them.

0:26:07 > 0:26:13I'm sure Naomi is going to mind me telling you this, and she doesn't know that I'm about to,

0:26:13 > 0:26:19but that wasn't the most comfortable car journey back there since I made my decision!

0:26:19 > 0:26:26I've got to say in my defence though, for ten years, you kept saying to me, "Let's move abroad."

0:26:26 > 0:26:30When I eventually decide to say, "Oh, OK, we'll give it a shot,"

0:26:30 > 0:26:34you change your mind and say, "Let's not bother moving abroad."

0:26:34 > 0:26:37So I think I'm entitled to be a little bit peeved about that.

0:26:37 > 0:26:40To me, just the way I have been feeling the last couple of days,

0:26:40 > 0:26:43I thought it was obvious how I would probably vote.

0:26:43 > 0:26:48I suppose you can still shock me. I suppose that's one good thing.

0:26:48 > 0:26:54A lot of people think, we pack up and move off somewhere nice, but it is not that easy.

0:26:54 > 0:26:57There's a lot of things to take into account.

0:26:57 > 0:27:00So this is a scenario I was hoping to avoid.

0:27:10 > 0:27:16In 2009, the Boyds were split between whether they should stay in the UK or move to Australia.

0:27:16 > 0:27:20Naomi had good job prospects and had fallen for the lifestyle.

0:27:20 > 0:27:25James, despite having driven the move, had serious doubts.

0:27:25 > 0:27:27So where in the world are they?

0:27:27 > 0:27:31Three months later, they were still in Scotland.

0:27:31 > 0:27:36The decision to stay in the UK had put a lot of strain on their relationship.

0:27:36 > 0:27:39When we came back from Australia,

0:27:39 > 0:27:43James had decided to vote for the UK.

0:27:43 > 0:27:50It did cause a bit of tension because I was quite annoyed that James had got us going over there,

0:27:50 > 0:27:54to see if that was the life we wanted to lead,

0:27:54 > 0:28:00getting us all excited about it and then to turn round and say he didn't want to go. I was annoyed about it.

0:28:00 > 0:28:06When we got back, we had to sit down to see if we even wanted the same things.

0:28:06 > 0:28:08You think you know somebody and then, suddenly...

0:28:08 > 0:28:12When we made our final vote on Australia, I chose the UK

0:28:12 > 0:28:18because I just felt far more comfortable knowing how everything works here.

0:28:18 > 0:28:24I'd suddenly realised how big this move was and what effect this could have on all of our lives

0:28:24 > 0:28:27and also all the family and friends.

0:28:27 > 0:28:33There was a lot of things that really worried me and it took me right out my comfort zone.

0:28:33 > 0:28:36I didn't want to go over there and it to be half-hearted.

0:28:36 > 0:28:43If you're going to make this huge decision, what's the point if you're not going to be fully happy?

0:28:43 > 0:28:47No point uprooting the kids from everything they know...

0:28:47 > 0:28:51Moving to the other side of the world, we want to be 100% sure.

0:28:51 > 0:28:54Although they had been divided about moving to Australia,

0:28:54 > 0:28:59the Boyds were still determined to move out of the area. They had kept their house on the market.

0:28:59 > 0:29:03In Australia, we watched the estate agents' valuation DVD

0:29:03 > 0:29:06and they said we'd need to drop the price to 85,000,

0:29:06 > 0:29:09which I was rather miffed about.

0:29:09 > 0:29:13I was upset when I heard them saying this was all my house was worth.

0:29:13 > 0:29:20But, as it turns out, they were right and, in this current climate, that is all it's worth.

0:29:20 > 0:29:25I feel a bit of an idiot because we sold it for 85,000 two months later.

0:29:25 > 0:29:29Once they sold their house, James had another change of heart.

0:29:29 > 0:29:33At the moment, we're still here in sunny Scotland

0:29:33 > 0:29:38and, after a few months of talking about it and our house selling,

0:29:38 > 0:29:42we've decided to make the leap and move to Perth.

0:29:42 > 0:29:48After talking about it, we decided we're going to make a new life wherever we go,

0:29:48 > 0:29:53so why not just go for it, right enough?

0:29:53 > 0:29:57Once we'd decided where we wanted to go, I got in touch with some recruitment consultants

0:29:57 > 0:30:00and I got offered a job at a psychiatric hospital in Perth.

0:30:00 > 0:30:05They agreed to sponsor me on a four-year temporary business visa.

0:30:05 > 0:30:10I've had to rush lots and lots in to a really short space of time.

0:30:10 > 0:30:15- It's been hard going.- We've just had to keep pushing through it.

0:30:15 > 0:30:21At last, it seemed the Boyds' dream to move to Australia was going to happen. But at the last minute,

0:30:21 > 0:30:24they were hit by some terrible news.

0:30:24 > 0:30:28Everything was going fine until a week ago. We were all content,

0:30:28 > 0:30:33living in our little bubble. But, within a week and a half,

0:30:33 > 0:30:37everything has just went completely upside down.

0:30:37 > 0:30:40You don't realise just how quickly it can all go wrong.

0:30:40 > 0:30:45I'm waiting for a hospital procedure and possibly an operation.

0:30:45 > 0:30:53And if this happens, I'm looking at going out to Australia in four to six months' time

0:30:53 > 0:30:59and we do need Naomi to go over and start her job before the offer gets taken off her.

0:30:59 > 0:31:06We're now left with the decision, if the possibility occurs that James does need surgery,

0:31:06 > 0:31:09we might not be able to go over there as a family.

0:31:09 > 0:31:15And if we don't go over as a family, I've got to go on ahead on my own

0:31:15 > 0:31:21or I have to sacrifice the job and our possible only route to get into Australia,

0:31:21 > 0:31:26unless we apply for a permanent visa. But that's years away and I don't think we could wait that long.

0:31:26 > 0:31:31If I want this job, which I really do, I'll need to go ahead.

0:31:31 > 0:31:36But I don't know if I can really do that. What mother would leave her children?

0:31:36 > 0:31:42And I couldn't leave my husband knowing he had to undergo surgery. It's a bit of a predicament.

0:31:42 > 0:31:44I don't know what's going to happen.

0:31:44 > 0:31:49I think Naomi is going to have to go on ahead to Australia.

0:31:49 > 0:31:55It's something I don't want to happen and she doesn't want it to happen.

0:31:55 > 0:31:59I don't think she realised until recently that this was real.

0:32:07 > 0:32:14The Boyds were up for moving to Australia, but would Naomi have to take the long flight on her own

0:32:14 > 0:32:18and leave James and the children to come later after his surgery?

0:32:23 > 0:32:28In the end, the Boyds managed to make the journey in January 2010,

0:32:28 > 0:32:29altogether as a family.

0:32:29 > 0:32:34It's not been an easy journey but we're here now so we'll see

0:32:34 > 0:32:39how it all goes. Hopefully, it'll be perfect! Ask me in a few weeks!

0:32:39 > 0:32:46- All very, very tired and ready to go to bed.- Absolutely shattered. Really am tired.

0:32:46 > 0:32:52Like many people who emigrate to Australia, the Boyds had decided to rent before buying a house.

0:32:52 > 0:32:56As they arrived at their temporary home in Perth,

0:32:56 > 0:33:02they were relieved to be starting their new life together, with James's health scare behind them.

0:33:04 > 0:33:06For a few weeks, it was horrible.

0:33:06 > 0:33:11We didn't know what we were doing, absolutely horrendous.

0:33:11 > 0:33:17We pestered the hospital and they gave us a cancellation and James had the procedure done

0:33:17 > 0:33:24and they decided surgery is not required at the moment. They can manage it with medication.

0:33:24 > 0:33:31So we just decided to book the flights, not to chance it any more and just get over there.

0:33:31 > 0:33:36I'm still unsure about it all. I've been chopping and changing my mind over the last fortnight.

0:33:36 > 0:33:39One day I'm wanting to come, the next day not.

0:33:39 > 0:33:45I've not been happy with the life we've had back home and that's why I instigated this,

0:33:45 > 0:33:52but the closer this has got and I realise we are leaving behind friends and family,

0:33:52 > 0:33:57it's starting to really kick in and I've had big, big doubts with it.

0:33:57 > 0:34:00But here we are because... I did instigate it.

0:34:02 > 0:34:07I did vote to remain in the UK, but I'm not that selfish that I would hold everybody else back.

0:34:07 > 0:34:12I'm willing to give it a go. The plan is that we'll give it a few years

0:34:12 > 0:34:15and, fingers crossed, all's going to go well

0:34:15 > 0:34:18but, if it doesn't, we'll go back to what we know in the UK.

0:34:22 > 0:34:26We caught up with the Boyds five months later.

0:34:26 > 0:34:31For Naomi, the move had hinged on her being happy with her job.

0:34:31 > 0:34:35Fortunately, it seems she's really got her teeth into it.

0:34:35 > 0:34:40Hi, there, how are yous? Is it OK to come through and get a file?

0:34:40 > 0:34:45Over here, the ward that I'm in, it's just purely nursing staff

0:34:45 > 0:34:48and it's acute adult mental health problems.

0:34:48 > 0:34:54We have a range of people between the age of 18 to about 55.

0:34:54 > 0:34:58Some people can be with us for a few days, others can be for weeks.

0:34:58 > 0:35:04You have a constant turnaround of patients which means different challenges.

0:35:04 > 0:35:09To me, coming here and coming into a job which I'm really enjoying

0:35:09 > 0:35:12and working with people that I enjoy coming to work with has been great.

0:35:12 > 0:35:16It's helped me to settle so much better because this is

0:35:16 > 0:35:21a piece of security for me. It helps me so much having a job I enjoy.

0:35:21 > 0:35:26While Naomi is bringing home the bacon and Kieren is at school, James is looking after Dylan.

0:35:26 > 0:35:32The new rental house has brought a smile to James's face.

0:35:32 > 0:35:36We really fancied somewhere nice and spacious

0:35:36 > 0:35:41and we knew within seconds of looking at it, just with the size of the house and the size of the garden.

0:35:41 > 0:35:48I know most of the houses here are a lot bigger typically than what you would find in the UK,

0:35:48 > 0:35:53but this house itself, just the whole look and the feel to it, I love the set-up,

0:35:53 > 0:35:58I love having the bedrooms through one side and having the lounge and the games room.

0:35:58 > 0:36:01This is a living room, dining area, kitchen.

0:36:01 > 0:36:05All of these rooms were totally separate in our old house.

0:36:05 > 0:36:08The space is just massive.

0:36:08 > 0:36:11We've got acres of space to play with.

0:36:11 > 0:36:15Something we've never had, but we've got a pantry for our food.

0:36:15 > 0:36:21Instead of having cupboards crammed together on our walls, we just put everything in here

0:36:21 > 0:36:25and it keeps the kitchen nice and free to walk around. Love it.

0:36:25 > 0:36:29James had hoped to quickly find a job and get his career back on track.

0:36:29 > 0:36:34However, as a house husband, he's not enjoying his life down under.

0:36:34 > 0:36:38It's not been great for James. He's struggled with it.

0:36:38 > 0:36:45He's not working and because of the shift work I do, it's meant we've struggled to find childcare.

0:36:45 > 0:36:48So that has caused a lot of tension

0:36:48 > 0:36:54and it's made his transition to Australia a lot more difficult.

0:36:54 > 0:36:58It did come to a head and we felt the best thing might have been

0:36:58 > 0:37:02for the two of us to separate because we were just arguing.

0:37:02 > 0:37:08It just got too much and we were arguing quite a lot and we didn't want the boys to see that

0:37:08 > 0:37:14so we decided to call it a day, but we've decided to get back together and give it another try.

0:37:14 > 0:37:22I had this idea that we were going to move out here and everything would fall into place - we'd both get jobs.

0:37:22 > 0:37:26Obviously, nobody comes straight to a job, but I thought that I would

0:37:26 > 0:37:30and that we'd all settle really well and it would be plain sailing,

0:37:30 > 0:37:34but it's been totally different from what I had imagined.

0:37:34 > 0:37:39I'm finding it a lot harder than I'd expected to settle.

0:37:39 > 0:37:45While she's out doing the job, I'm dealing with everything in the house. Once Naomi comes home, typically,

0:37:45 > 0:37:52I'll go to the shops, do a bit of shopping, come back up and get ready to do it all again the next day.

0:37:52 > 0:37:57Basically, with me being at home all the time, I'm not getting out to meet people

0:37:57 > 0:38:01and have a bit of a social life. I really feel quite isolated.

0:38:01 > 0:38:09I feel guilty because he's not settling, he's stuck in the house with the kids. It's been difficult.

0:38:09 > 0:38:11The situation is what it is

0:38:11 > 0:38:17and rather than getting worked up about it, I'll let things flow and we'll see what happens.

0:38:17 > 0:38:22I'm not going to get too stressed. I don't need a job for money,

0:38:22 > 0:38:25it would just be nice to have that wee bit extra play money

0:38:25 > 0:38:28and it would be nice to go out and meet friends.

0:38:32 > 0:38:36Although James and Naomi are divided on how they feel about Australia,

0:38:36 > 0:38:39the kids are definitely happy with their new life.

0:38:39 > 0:38:42The boys are settling in really well.

0:38:42 > 0:38:47Kieren especially. Making lots of friends. He's having a ball here.

0:38:47 > 0:38:52It's a better life cos I get to go out with my friends. In Scotland,

0:38:52 > 0:38:56I never got to go out and play cos it was always raining.

0:38:56 > 0:39:02That was my biggest reason for wanting to move abroad - to give the kids a better life.

0:39:02 > 0:39:05Seeing them happy, it does make me happy.

0:39:05 > 0:39:10Whenever I've had a bad day at work and I come in and the two of them just run and give you cuddles.

0:39:10 > 0:39:14It just makes everything worthwhile. Definitely.

0:39:14 > 0:39:17The Boyds do have a webcam to keep in touch with family and friends.

0:39:17 > 0:39:22But they're still struggling with being so far away from loved ones.

0:39:22 > 0:39:24It's hard to take sometimes.

0:39:24 > 0:39:28We moved out here to try to better our lives

0:39:28 > 0:39:33but a lot of people back home are really upset because we're not there.

0:39:33 > 0:39:37We were a really, really close family when we lived there

0:39:37 > 0:39:41and we all lived within a very short distance of one another

0:39:41 > 0:39:44so we done a lot of things together.

0:39:44 > 0:39:51I remember breaking down in tears because I can't get in touch when I want to any more.

0:39:51 > 0:39:57It doesn't get easier, just... I'm just getting a bit more used to it now.

0:39:58 > 0:40:04Naomi has found it particularly difficult leaving her grandmother behind.

0:40:04 > 0:40:06My Nana is in all my best memories.

0:40:06 > 0:40:12There wasn't anything she wasn't there for. She supported me through so much, and she still does.

0:40:12 > 0:40:16Every decision I make, she's always somebody I'd ask

0:40:16 > 0:40:22and she always supports me, so... I miss her a lot. I really do.

0:40:22 > 0:40:28It's been a turbulent move for all of them, but Naomi and the children have settled quickly.

0:40:28 > 0:40:32Part of me wants to make it work so much.

0:40:32 > 0:40:35Already, I can't see myself going back to the UK.

0:40:35 > 0:40:41Aside from our problems, everything else is brilliant. It is.

0:40:41 > 0:40:45The kids are happy, James is mainly happy...

0:40:45 > 0:40:51I'm happy. So it's just... a totally different life to what we had back in Scotland.

0:40:51 > 0:40:53I don't want to go back to that.

0:40:53 > 0:40:56But, at the end of the day...

0:40:56 > 0:41:01if James decides he wants to go back, then...

0:41:01 > 0:41:04I can't turn round and say I'm not going.

0:41:04 > 0:41:10James has struggled with his new life, even though he was the one who originally wanted to move here.

0:41:10 > 0:41:15Now feeling unhappy, is he about to give up his dream again?

0:41:15 > 0:41:21The grand plan is that I'm going to muck in at this for at least another few months.

0:41:21 > 0:41:26I'll just have to try and find a job that'll give me hours to work round the childcare.

0:41:26 > 0:41:30We've got a lease on a house for another few months yet

0:41:30 > 0:41:35so I really want to give it a good bash and see how we go.

0:41:35 > 0:41:38But if it's not working out in another few months,

0:41:38 > 0:41:44I think I'll have to speak to the family about packing up and moving back.

0:41:44 > 0:41:50But that's the worst case scenario and I'd rather that didn't happen. But I've got to be realistic.

0:41:50 > 0:41:54If I'm still as miserable, I don't see the point in being here.

0:41:54 > 0:41:57We came for a better life, so...

0:42:02 > 0:42:07Naomi and the boys have thrown themselves into their new life.

0:42:07 > 0:42:09However, James has had major doubts.

0:42:09 > 0:42:12It's time for them to make their final vote.

0:42:12 > 0:42:17Will the Boyds choose to stay or pack their bags and head back to Scotland?

0:42:17 > 0:42:23We've been living in Perth for a short time now and we've had our fair share of ups and downs.

0:42:23 > 0:42:28Despite that, we're going to make a decision and vote for where we see ourselves in the immediate future.

0:42:28 > 0:42:33Here in Perth, or back in sunny Scotland. Our decision is...

0:42:36 > 0:42:38- Australia.- Australia.- Australia.

0:42:41 > 0:42:46James and Naomi have made the hardest decision of their lives.

0:42:46 > 0:42:51Although it's still early days, they're well on their way to making

0:42:51 > 0:42:55a new and improved life in Australia for themselves and their boys.

0:42:55 > 0:43:02Join us again when we catch up with another family on Wanted Down Under Revisited.
