0:45:02 > 0:45:06For nearly all families, the toughest part of moving abroad

0:45:06 > 0:45:09is the pain it can cause to the people you love.

0:45:09 > 0:45:13In 2010, the Corbett family faced a choice

0:45:13 > 0:45:16that seems destined to end in heartbreak.

0:45:16 > 0:45:19One year later, we caught up with them to find out

0:45:19 > 0:45:21if it was the right one.

0:45:21 > 0:45:24Surf-mad Scott dreamt of a life of sun and sea.

0:45:24 > 0:45:27Jump in the water while they play on the beach,

0:45:27 > 0:45:30then come and surf with them in the smaller waves.

0:45:30 > 0:45:33Yeah, what a dream, what a wonderful lifestyle.

0:45:33 > 0:45:38But wife Victoria couldn't bear to take the children away from their grandmother.

0:45:38 > 0:45:41She was trying to be really strong and supportive,

0:45:41 > 0:45:44but I know she's going to miss them terribly.

0:45:44 > 0:45:47With the family's future hanging in the balance,

0:45:47 > 0:45:53they needed to know if they really could give up everything for a new life in Australia.

0:45:53 > 0:45:54It changes daily.

0:45:58 > 0:46:00I just wish somebody could give me the right answers.

0:46:23 > 0:46:29In 2010, Scott and Victoria Corbett faced a huge decision -

0:46:29 > 0:46:31whether to leave their lives in the UK behind them

0:46:31 > 0:46:34and make a new start in Australia.

0:46:34 > 0:46:38Ahead was a week for them to sample every aspect of Aussie life.

0:46:38 > 0:46:42But was the reality enough to convince them to make the move for good?

0:46:44 > 0:46:47Scott and Victoria Corbett,

0:46:47 > 0:46:52along with their two children, Mason and Indie, lived in Cwmcarn in South Wales.

0:46:52 > 0:46:56They loved their home but Scott dreamt of a new life in Australia.

0:46:56 > 0:46:57I guess everybody has a dream.

0:46:57 > 0:47:01Some people have small dreams, some people have big dreams.

0:47:01 > 0:47:05Mine has always been to live close to the beach.

0:47:05 > 0:47:08In Australia, just everything seems to be outdoor living.

0:47:08 > 0:47:11That's a massive, massive pull.

0:47:11 > 0:47:14After nine years of renovating their Welsh home,

0:47:14 > 0:47:17Victoria was willing to consider a new chapter in their life.

0:47:17 > 0:47:20I always wanted a converted barn so we did my bit,

0:47:20 > 0:47:25- and all throughout, Scott has wanted to live by the beach, do his thing.- Yeah.

0:47:25 > 0:47:30So we've done my dream, we've sort of got to do yours a bit now, haven't we?

0:47:30 > 0:47:32Well, we can try it, see what happens.

0:47:32 > 0:47:35The family had come close to moving six months earlier,

0:47:35 > 0:47:39but tragedy stopped them in their tracks.

0:47:39 > 0:47:42We had the visas, we'd spent all the money,

0:47:42 > 0:47:44it was there in the passport.

0:47:44 > 0:47:47The day it came through, that was the 9th of September,

0:47:47 > 0:47:50and come the 4th of October, my dad passed away.

0:47:53 > 0:47:55Sorry.

0:47:58 > 0:48:01All of a sudden, the Australia dream was out the window

0:48:01 > 0:48:03because I couldn't even think of it.

0:48:08 > 0:48:10They'd put their house on the market,

0:48:10 > 0:48:14but with the huge emotion they'd invested in it, Victoria was having doubts.

0:48:17 > 0:48:21I'd keep saying to Scott, "We need to stop it, you know.

0:48:21 > 0:48:26"We need to pull the plug a bit, stand back a bit.

0:48:26 > 0:48:28"This home will be totally gone,

0:48:28 > 0:48:31"and there won't be any coming back to that.

0:48:31 > 0:48:35"OK, you can come back to Britain, but we're not going to get this again."

0:48:35 > 0:48:37For Scott's parents,

0:48:37 > 0:48:40losing Mason and Indie to Australia would have been devastating.

0:48:40 > 0:48:44For Mason and Indie to not see their grandparents,

0:48:44 > 0:48:46that's going to be dreadful.

0:48:46 > 0:48:51Mason, in particular, he's... the apple of my father's eye.

0:48:51 > 0:48:54They spend all of their time together when he's down. And...

0:48:55 > 0:48:59..that's going to hurt them a hell of a lot. It really is.

0:48:59 > 0:49:04If they moved, Victoria hoped her mum would be able to spend large parts of the year with them.

0:49:04 > 0:49:07'She's like my best friend as much as anything.'

0:49:07 > 0:49:09The thought of leaving her here

0:49:09 > 0:49:13without my dad to sort of keep on the straight and narrow...

0:49:13 > 0:49:18'She dotes on the grandkids. There are only two grandkids.

0:49:18 > 0:49:20'The thought of doing that to her'

0:49:20 > 0:49:23just rips my heart out cos it's really hard.

0:49:23 > 0:49:26(Sorry.)

0:49:26 > 0:49:29They were so close, but Scott and Victoria didn't know

0:49:29 > 0:49:33if they could make that final step.

0:49:33 > 0:49:37If I love Australia and Vic doesn't...um...

0:49:40 > 0:49:43That'll be a choker, that'll be horrendous,

0:49:43 > 0:49:47but if it's just one's person's dream, and not two people's dream, well, you can't do it.

0:49:47 > 0:49:50You just can't do it.

0:49:50 > 0:49:53Today, I'm 50-50.

0:49:53 > 0:49:56Yesterday I was 95% certain.

0:49:56 > 0:50:02Last week, I was about 100% certain we were doing the wrong thing.

0:50:02 > 0:50:05So it changes. It changes daily.

0:50:08 > 0:50:11Just wish somebody could give me the right answers.

0:50:16 > 0:50:20The Corbetts spent their trial week in Adelaide.

0:50:20 > 0:50:24Its small-town feel shouldn't have been too much of a culture shock

0:50:24 > 0:50:27and surfing was easily accessible for Scott.

0:50:29 > 0:50:33After exhausting 23 hours in transit,

0:50:33 > 0:50:37the Corbett family had travelled over 10,500 thousand miles.

0:50:45 > 0:50:48Scott and Victoria immediately got to grips with the currency.

0:50:48 > 0:50:52The unfavourable exchange rate had them worried.

0:50:52 > 0:50:56When we started looking, it was 2.4 to the pound.

0:50:56 > 0:51:01- Last going, it was 1.6.- Yeah.- So you're talking about 100,000 plus...

0:51:01 > 0:51:04It's more than that. It's 160,000.

0:51:04 > 0:51:06Which is like a lifetime's worth of savings.

0:51:06 > 0:51:12However, we're looking outside and it's the most gorgeous day I think we've ever seen, just about.

0:51:12 > 0:51:15We're in Australia. Maybe that makes up for it. We'll see.

0:51:15 > 0:51:18Scott was being positive,

0:51:18 > 0:51:24but it could have made a massive difference to the lifestyle and the house they could afford.

0:51:27 > 0:51:32Their home for the week was a two-bedroom apartment in Aldinga Beach.

0:51:32 > 0:51:35Lovely. Nice and light, isn't it?

0:51:35 > 0:51:38And everything rested on the next seven days.

0:51:38 > 0:51:42Hopefully this week will cement it one way or the other,

0:51:42 > 0:51:48whether we give it up as a dream that maybe isn't right,

0:51:48 > 0:51:50isn't meant to be...

0:51:50 > 0:51:54I don't think you can put your finger on it without seeing it

0:51:54 > 0:51:57and feeling it and...

0:51:57 > 0:51:59From a personal point of view, if I see it,

0:51:59 > 0:52:04if I feel it, then, to me, that's going to be...enough.

0:52:04 > 0:52:07But if they couldn't face the thought of leaving home

0:52:07 > 0:52:11and the people they loved, they wouldn't be going anywhere.

0:52:17 > 0:52:21Back in the UK, the Corbetts' house was on the top of a mountain in Gwent.

0:52:21 > 0:52:23But it was more than just a home.

0:52:23 > 0:52:27Victoria's parents has helped them to convert what was a ruined barn,

0:52:27 > 0:52:33so their emotional investment ran far deeper than just bricks and mortar.

0:52:33 > 0:52:37Mum and Dad were incredible. They just did so much here.

0:52:37 > 0:52:40Just an incredible amount of work.

0:52:40 > 0:52:43You look around the place and every single room,

0:52:43 > 0:52:47every part of the garden, there's memories.

0:52:47 > 0:52:51There's a huge amount of memories.

0:52:51 > 0:52:56And the thought of leaving here and not having those memories...

0:52:56 > 0:52:58is hard.

0:52:59 > 0:53:02With so many memories of her father in the barn,

0:53:02 > 0:53:05they'd never be able to replace it,

0:53:05 > 0:53:09and any house in Australia would have a lot to live up to.

0:53:09 > 0:53:13Victoria and Scott dreamt of building their own home in Australia.

0:53:13 > 0:53:18They wanted to create the perfect place for their two young children, close to the sea.

0:53:18 > 0:53:23But doing it within their £350,000 budget was going to be a real challenge.

0:53:23 > 0:53:26So to help them see what might be possible,

0:53:26 > 0:53:30we showed the family three self-built properties near the coast.

0:53:30 > 0:53:35The first one was in Hallett Cove, 45 minutes from the city centre.

0:53:35 > 0:53:39It had a stunning open-plan living area, three bedrooms,

0:53:39 > 0:53:41extra space, and a pool.

0:53:41 > 0:53:44With total costs of around £290,000,

0:53:44 > 0:53:49it would have meant taking out a bigger mortgage to afford it.

0:53:49 > 0:53:53- Wow.- Look at this. Go on, then. That is one heck of a view.

0:53:53 > 0:53:58- This is stunning, isn't it?- Your smiley face!- That's just gorgeous.

0:53:58 > 0:54:00It's really lovely.

0:54:00 > 0:54:04This is how I see us living - in open-plan like this.

0:54:06 > 0:54:11- We can see the sea. We're virtually on the beach. - Oh, look what I can see downstairs.

0:54:11 > 0:54:15- Would you like a swimming pool in our house?- Yeah.- Like that one?

0:54:15 > 0:54:20- Bigger, bigger, bigger. - Indie wasn't won over by the pool.

0:54:20 > 0:54:24And inside, the view from the bedroom didn't impress.

0:54:24 > 0:54:27- It's a bit different to waking up to our view over Twmbarlwm.- Yeah.

0:54:27 > 0:54:31- No houses to see anywhere.- Yeah.

0:54:31 > 0:54:35Unfortunately, being in a popular area meant the houses were quite close together.

0:54:35 > 0:54:39However, it was a house with plenty of space

0:54:39 > 0:54:43that did have the potential for a granny flat for Victoria's mum.

0:54:43 > 0:54:46I'm curious as to what's downstairs now.

0:54:49 > 0:54:54- Oh, look at this.- Wow. Now, there's a room.

0:54:54 > 0:54:58Something like this would be ideal for Mum, cos she could have her own access.

0:54:58 > 0:55:00Yeah.

0:55:00 > 0:55:04- Shall we go and have a look in the garden?- Yeah!

0:55:04 > 0:55:08- Come on, then. Let's go and see that swimming pool.- Yay!

0:55:08 > 0:55:10Although they did see a lot of potential for the house,

0:55:10 > 0:55:13Scott had his concerns.

0:55:13 > 0:55:16The 290 bill is the part that I'm concerned about.

0:55:16 > 0:55:20- That's nearly all of our budget and we haven't bought any land yet.- Yeah.

0:55:20 > 0:55:24- Lots of things to balance up. - Lots of things to balance up.

0:55:26 > 0:55:31Then it was onto the second house in the hunt for a cheaper build with more space.

0:55:31 > 0:55:34It was an impressive four-bedroomed house in Aldinga Beach,

0:55:34 > 0:55:36set on a new development.

0:55:36 > 0:55:40Best of all, it was under budget at £280,000.

0:55:40 > 0:55:41Come on, then.

0:55:41 > 0:55:45Whilst a member of our team looked after a sleeping Indie,

0:55:45 > 0:55:47the rest of the family explored.

0:55:49 > 0:55:54Wow, I love these floor-to-ceiling windows. Look at that.

0:55:54 > 0:55:58- They look well, don't they? - That's great.- They look really well. - Where are we going?

0:55:58 > 0:56:02They would have had enough rooms, but how did they feel about the open living space?

0:56:02 > 0:56:05- Wow, this is what we are after, Scott.- That does it.

0:56:05 > 0:56:08And seeing we can afford it mortgage free...

0:56:08 > 0:56:12The nicest thing about here for me is,

0:56:12 > 0:56:15- like, the last property felt hemmed in.- It was.

0:56:15 > 0:56:18Yay. Indie woke up.

0:56:18 > 0:56:22When Indie woke up, she was also excited by what she saw.

0:56:22 > 0:56:24Look.

0:56:24 > 0:56:27- Look out there! - Do you want to go and see?- Yeah!

0:56:28 > 0:56:31Outside, the huge balcony overlooks projected scrubland

0:56:31 > 0:56:33so the view would never be obstructed

0:56:33 > 0:56:37and they wouldn't be looking straight at their neighbours.

0:56:37 > 0:56:40- We can afford this. - Without a mortgage.

0:56:40 > 0:56:44- Yeah, liking this one. - Liking this one.

0:56:44 > 0:56:47Wonder what the next one's going to be like.

0:56:49 > 0:56:54Could the third house convince them to finally give up the home they loved in Wales?

0:56:58 > 0:57:02Located further south in Carrickalinga, and set close to the beach,

0:57:02 > 0:57:06it was a converted cottage with a large garden and spa

0:57:06 > 0:57:10and cost £370,000 to build.

0:57:12 > 0:57:16- Go and have a look. - Elephant! Elephant! Elephant!

0:57:21 > 0:57:23That is gorgeous.

0:57:23 > 0:57:27If there were however many boxes to tick, I think that's just ticked every box.

0:57:27 > 0:57:31Outside, there was no pool or protected scrubland,

0:57:31 > 0:57:34- but the location certainly won them over.- Look at that.

0:57:34 > 0:57:40There's a footpath literally next door to the house which takes you down to the beach.

0:57:40 > 0:57:41What more can you ask for?

0:57:41 > 0:57:45The beach being so close certainly impressed Scott,

0:57:45 > 0:57:49but did the bedrooms keep up the high standard?

0:57:49 > 0:57:51- This is good.- This is nice.

0:57:51 > 0:57:56The only downside of these bedrooms, I guess, at the minute, is,

0:57:56 > 0:58:00compared to the other properties, they are smaller.

0:58:00 > 0:58:05The overall size of the house was also a problem.

0:58:05 > 0:58:10One of our big things is having Mum to stay for big chunks of the year and to be close.

0:58:10 > 0:58:14I think that would be an issue if we were on top of each other, wouldn't it?

0:58:14 > 0:58:15It's a three-bed house.

0:58:15 > 0:58:17We've got a lot to way up.

0:58:17 > 0:58:21The Corbett family saw three different options.

0:58:21 > 0:58:24With the first house, the neighbours were too close.

0:58:24 > 0:58:29But they really fell for the large plot and living area of the second.

0:58:29 > 0:58:35Property three was hugely impressive, but the lack of room was a big concern.

0:58:35 > 0:58:38So after seeing what they could build for themselves in Australia,

0:58:38 > 0:58:40it was time to make up their minds.

0:58:40 > 0:58:44Could they really bear to give up the home that meant so much to them

0:58:44 > 0:58:46for a fresh start Down Under?

0:58:46 > 0:58:50It's going to be really difficult to consider leaving the barn back home.

0:58:50 > 0:58:51But...

0:58:51 > 0:58:55basing our decision on what we've seen today, we going to choose...

0:58:58 > 0:59:01- Australia!- Australia!

0:59:01 > 0:59:03SHE GIGGLES

0:59:03 > 0:59:07- That was yours too.- Yeah! Yeah! We like Australian houses.

0:59:08 > 0:59:13By being able to imagine leaving their home they'd overcome a massive hurdle.

0:59:13 > 0:59:16Scott's dream was a huge step closer.

0:59:24 > 0:59:26To afford their ideal home and lifestyle,

0:59:26 > 0:59:30everything now depended on Scott being able to get the right job.

0:59:30 > 0:59:35Back in the UK, he was head of the art department at Cwmcarn High School.

0:59:35 > 0:59:37Having worked hard to get the position,

0:59:37 > 0:59:42he was daunted by the thought of starting all over again.

0:59:42 > 0:59:46I've set the department up as I want to set the department up.

0:59:46 > 0:59:48If I move to Australia,

0:59:48 > 0:59:52then I'm guessing there has to be a drop in salary.

0:59:52 > 0:59:57There has to be a situation where I'm not the main man

0:59:57 > 0:59:59and I'm having to be told, "This is how we do it."

1:00:02 > 1:00:05We arranged for him to try out teaching at Christies Beach High School

1:00:05 > 1:00:11where he met with art teacher Sean McGovern and deputy principal Sharon Goldman.

1:00:11 > 1:00:13With his family's future in the balance,

1:00:13 > 1:00:17the pressure was on Scott to make a good impression.

1:00:17 > 1:00:20I want you to create some sort of portrait using mixed media.

1:00:20 > 1:00:23I'm not going to talk a lot this afternoon.

1:00:23 > 1:00:26What I'm going to do is come round and try to help you in what you're doing.

1:00:26 > 1:00:30Victoria planned to be a full-time mum

1:00:30 > 1:00:33and she wanted to explore activities for her and the children,

1:00:33 > 1:00:36so she took them to an art class.

1:00:36 > 1:00:40Oh, hello. And who have we got here?

1:00:40 > 1:00:45If we do move over, my number one priority is the kids.

1:00:45 > 1:00:49They've got to be happy, they've got to be settled

1:00:49 > 1:00:52so they can form friendships, and I can form friendships as well.

1:00:52 > 1:00:55Cos at the end of the day, a two and a three-year-old can only have

1:00:55 > 1:00:58so much stimulating conversation with me.

1:00:58 > 1:01:01So I've got to keep myself sane as well.

1:01:01 > 1:01:05There was plenty for the children, but Victoria was struggling.

1:01:05 > 1:01:07There's something missing at the minute.

1:01:07 > 1:01:12I'm just hoping we do find the lifestyle that we want,

1:01:12 > 1:01:15cos if it doesn't...

1:01:15 > 1:01:19then I'm not sure that this is going to be the right thing to do.

1:01:19 > 1:01:23Adelaide hadn't yet won her over

1:01:23 > 1:01:28and there was still the heartache of leaving her mum to deal with.

1:01:28 > 1:01:30You know, I see my mum three times a week.

1:01:30 > 1:01:36And she does loads with the kids... God. Sorry.

1:01:36 > 1:01:38She's going to miss them massively.

1:01:38 > 1:01:41She was virtually in tears before we left.

1:01:41 > 1:01:44She was trying to be really strong and supportive,

1:01:44 > 1:01:47but I know she's going to miss them terribly.

1:01:49 > 1:01:52The thought of leaving her mum was giving Victoria serious doubts.

1:01:52 > 1:01:58Now the pressure was all on Scott to prove this move was worth making.

1:01:58 > 1:02:00Thanks very much for that.

1:02:00 > 1:02:03At the school, he was having a better day.

1:02:03 > 1:02:07The children were inspired, along with deputy principal Sharon.

1:02:07 > 1:02:11- That's fantastic. - They were great, Sharon.

1:02:11 > 1:02:14We gave them a five-minute break and some of them just worked through.

1:02:14 > 1:02:17They didn't stop working. That made me smile.

1:02:17 > 1:02:20- That was one of the nicest bits that I saw.- That's fabulous.

1:02:20 > 1:02:24Scott was aiming to work as a relief or supply teacher when they first moved.

1:02:24 > 1:02:29But he needed to know he could earn enough to support his family.

1:02:29 > 1:02:32- If you're doing relief work, it's about 330 a day.- OK.

1:02:32 > 1:02:35Of course, that's a daily rate, so it's how many days you work.

1:02:35 > 1:02:39That would be about £200.

1:02:39 > 1:02:44If I'm only getting a days work per week...£200 doesn't really cut it.

1:02:44 > 1:02:50But if I'm working everyday, that sounds like a good amount of money.

1:02:51 > 1:02:56That was around £40,000 a year but only if he worked full-time,

1:02:56 > 1:02:59which could not be guaranteed as a supply teacher.

1:02:59 > 1:03:05- Great to meet you, Scott. - Cheers.- Thanks very much for running my lesson.- Thank you.

1:03:05 > 1:03:08The entire move depended on Scott's job prospects.

1:03:08 > 1:03:11So how did he vote?

1:03:11 > 1:03:14Based on today, my decision is...

1:03:15 > 1:03:17Australia.

1:03:17 > 1:03:20I'm surprising myself there, I'm really surprisingly myself

1:03:20 > 1:03:24because I've been thinking all day, "Is it, is it?

1:03:24 > 1:03:27"Should I, should I?" My school back home is...

1:03:27 > 1:03:29I'm set up there. I know how everything works.

1:03:29 > 1:03:32I think it's probably time to step out of the comfort zone.

1:03:36 > 1:03:39It was vital Scott and Victoria

1:03:39 > 1:03:43found out if the Aussie lifestyle really could make up for the heartache of leaving home.

1:03:43 > 1:03:48As a family, they love to spend time by the sea.

1:03:48 > 1:03:52It also meant Scott could fulfil his passion for surfing.

1:03:52 > 1:03:56We arranged for him to meet Teale Vanner, a professional surfer and instructor.

1:03:56 > 1:04:01- How are you?- Hiya. All right? Vic. - Try and get out there, get you suited up,

1:04:01 > 1:04:06get you nice and warm. I guess the conditions aren't too cold for you guys.

1:04:06 > 1:04:08We'll go surfing, so that should be fun.

1:04:08 > 1:04:12The weather may have reminded them of a good old British summer

1:04:12 > 1:04:15but it would take more than a little rain to scare off the Corbetts.

1:04:15 > 1:04:19Getting past the breaking waves was a challenge

1:04:19 > 1:04:22but it didn't take Scott long to get out and show his skills.

1:04:24 > 1:04:26Teale was the professional,

1:04:26 > 1:04:28but Scott managed to hold his own.

1:04:28 > 1:04:31Well, kind of.

1:04:31 > 1:04:37Victoria's priority was a brighter future for Mason and Indie.

1:04:37 > 1:04:40But the situation on that day felt a little too familiar.

1:04:40 > 1:04:43It's just like being in Porthcawl.

1:04:43 > 1:04:48It's a typical sort of... Welsh weekend, really.

1:04:48 > 1:04:52Raining, blue kids.

1:04:52 > 1:04:55Not much different to back home, really.

1:04:55 > 1:04:59And it was making the tough decision Victoria faced even harder.

1:05:00 > 1:05:03I suppose you've got to balance it out, really,

1:05:03 > 1:05:08and figure out whether taking away grandparents

1:05:08 > 1:05:14for big chunks of the year and taking away the friends they've grown up with...

1:05:14 > 1:05:17whether that balances against the lifestyle that Scott and I

1:05:17 > 1:05:20think would be really, really beneficial for the kids.

1:05:20 > 1:05:24It is the scales that we've got to balance and got to get sorted.

1:05:24 > 1:05:29Eventually it was time for Scott and Teale to come ashore.

1:05:29 > 1:05:34So how did the surfing compare to Scott's expectations?

1:05:35 > 1:05:38Wonderful. Yeah, lovely morning. But, um...

1:05:38 > 1:05:41if you're going to ask me, going to ask me the question,

1:05:41 > 1:05:43"Do you want to live just there?"

1:05:43 > 1:05:46Then it's going to be a really short answer. "Yes!"

1:05:46 > 1:05:50And there was one thing that truly impressed Scott and gave him hope for the future.

1:05:50 > 1:05:52I must have seen...

1:05:52 > 1:05:5515 people far older than myself

1:05:55 > 1:05:57still surfing and still ripping.

1:05:57 > 1:06:00Still ripping on the waves, which was wonderful.

1:06:00 > 1:06:02So, I mean, if we do emigrate,

1:06:02 > 1:06:05then I guess I've got a lot of years ahead of me, surfing...

1:06:05 > 1:06:07in lovely places like this,

1:06:07 > 1:06:10being able to jump on the beach with the little ones.

1:06:10 > 1:06:14What a dream. What a wonderful, what a wonderful lifestyle. Just, yeah, fantastic.

1:06:14 > 1:06:17After a cold, damp morning the Corbett family needed

1:06:17 > 1:06:22to decide if their dream lifestyle really was in South Australia.

1:06:22 > 1:06:24It was time to vote.

1:06:24 > 1:06:29Based on my experience, so far, I'm going to vote...

1:06:30 > 1:06:33..Australia! No-brainer!

1:06:33 > 1:06:35And we're going to vote...

1:06:35 > 1:06:42- Australia! What about you two? - Australia!- What about you, Ind?

1:06:42 > 1:06:46- Britain!- Britain! Indie's a bit cold and wet.

1:06:52 > 1:06:57Back in the UK, the Corbetts' home was on the market for £430,000.

1:06:57 > 1:07:01They've poured their hearts and souls

1:07:01 > 1:07:03into renovating the old barn,

1:07:03 > 1:07:05so it was essential that the sale of it

1:07:05 > 1:07:09would provide a solid foundation for their dream life in Australia.

1:07:09 > 1:07:13It very much depends on what mortgage you want to have and how much we can afford.

1:07:13 > 1:07:16If there is a fantastic plot, then we'd be reasonably happy

1:07:16 > 1:07:21to put some sort of money into a mortgage, rather than go mortgage-free.

1:07:21 > 1:07:23But, in an ideal world,

1:07:23 > 1:07:29any money that I then earn is pocket money to have a wonderful lifestyle

1:07:29 > 1:07:33out there, which, at the end of the day, is what is part of the dream.

1:07:33 > 1:07:36If they did move, Scott would become a supply teacher,

1:07:36 > 1:07:40whilst Victoria settled in Mason and Indie.

1:07:40 > 1:07:43But if they couldn't support their ideal lifestyle,

1:07:43 > 1:07:47they would have lost everything they've worked so hard to build in the UK.

1:07:47 > 1:07:51To help them see if they could afford a future in Australia,

1:07:51 > 1:07:55we prepared a comparison of living costs in the UK versus those down under.

1:07:57 > 1:08:00- That's a lot more, isn't it?- Mm.

1:08:01 > 1:08:04It's surprising that fruit is more expensive, isn't it?

1:08:04 > 1:08:07Yes. Pretty much all more expensive, isn't it?

1:08:07 > 1:08:11- That's a big surprise, isn't it?- Mm. - Ooh, yogurts are loads cheaper.

1:08:11 > 1:08:14The lovely thing is, is the property that I liked...

1:08:14 > 1:08:16Number 2, the second one.

1:08:16 > 1:08:20..the second one, the monthly repayments would be £30.

1:08:20 > 1:08:22We could deal with £30, couldn't we?

1:08:22 > 1:08:25Salary, that's the important one, isn't it?

1:08:25 > 1:08:29That's £250 down on what we get in the UK

1:08:29 > 1:08:32and our groceries are £135 more expensive.

1:08:34 > 1:08:35That's a lot.

1:08:35 > 1:08:40The big issue was where they stood with a tiny mortgage on the second house, in Aldinga,

1:08:40 > 1:08:45compared with £650 a month for the first property.

1:08:45 > 1:08:50- So, we'd be plus £148... - ..better off...- ..in Aldinga.- Yeah.

1:08:50 > 1:08:52- But that's without a mortgage.- Yeah.

1:08:52 > 1:08:58- Oh, we'll be way down.- Yeah. We'd be minus £472 down.

1:08:58 > 1:09:01- That's a big chunk, isn't it?- Yeah.

1:09:02 > 1:09:03HE SIGHS

1:09:03 > 1:09:07- That cuts down on our options, doesn't it?- Yeah. - That cuts them right down.

1:09:07 > 1:09:09So, thinking we'd have lots of money to play with

1:09:09 > 1:09:14if we didn't have a mortgage out here isn't really the case, is it?

1:09:14 > 1:09:17That's sobering, that's really sobering.

1:09:17 > 1:09:22Because instead of bringing the best part of 680,000,

1:09:22 > 1:09:25690,000 with us, we're bringing, like, 450,000.

1:09:25 > 1:09:27And...

1:09:28 > 1:09:31..you can't do that without something financially hurting.

1:09:31 > 1:09:35We can't say we're going to move around the world if it's not right.

1:09:35 > 1:09:39And it looks like that's a big blow to our Aussie dream at the minute.

1:09:39 > 1:09:42If they couldn't afford the life they dreamt of

1:09:42 > 1:09:44would it change everything?

1:09:44 > 1:09:48How did they vote on the cost of living?

1:09:48 > 1:09:52Based on those financial decisions, our decision is going to be...

1:09:54 > 1:09:56- ..UK.- UK.

1:09:56 > 1:10:00If the Corbetts did move, their financial future seemed bleak.

1:10:00 > 1:10:03Is the dream slipping from their grasp?

1:10:03 > 1:10:05With the week coming to an end

1:10:05 > 1:10:09had the Corbetts made up their minds

1:10:09 > 1:10:12or would messages from home leave their plans in disarray?

1:10:12 > 1:10:14Scott and Victoria wanted to avoid

1:10:14 > 1:10:20upsetting the children, so they stayed outside with a minder

1:10:20 > 1:10:23whilst Mum and Dad watched a DVD from friends and family.

1:10:24 > 1:10:26Hi, Scott. Hi, Vic.

1:10:26 > 1:10:28Hi, Vic. Hi, Scott.

1:10:28 > 1:10:30'Scott, my brother,'

1:10:30 > 1:10:33he's a very warm, affectionate person. Um...

1:10:33 > 1:10:36We've always had a really lovely, close relationship.

1:10:36 > 1:10:39'Everybody loves him.'

1:10:39 > 1:10:43Everybody's always expounded what a smashing guy he is.

1:10:43 > 1:10:46'He comes over that way, in everything that he does.'

1:10:46 > 1:10:49'Since they've been married, I couldn't have asked'

1:10:49 > 1:10:50for a better son-in-law.

1:10:50 > 1:10:53He's done everything for Victoria,

1:10:53 > 1:10:55he's the most brilliant father

1:10:55 > 1:10:57to the kids, they idolise him.

1:10:57 > 1:10:59- That's nice.- 'And, um, yeah...'

1:10:59 > 1:11:01I've been very lucky.

1:11:01 > 1:11:03'Very lucky.'

1:11:03 > 1:11:06'I don't want them to go.'

1:11:06 > 1:11:08My heart tells me, "No, they shouldn't be going."

1:11:08 > 1:11:11But my head tells me, "Yes, they should be trying it,

1:11:11 > 1:11:13"because that's what they want."

1:11:13 > 1:11:18'We are absolutely devastated. Um, it's a long way. It's too far away.'

1:11:18 > 1:11:21Um, and I worry, most of all, for my parents.

1:11:21 > 1:11:26'Um, with their grandchildren, because they're still very small.'

1:11:26 > 1:11:29Um, and, you know, we will miss them.

1:11:30 > 1:11:32'What I'll miss is...'

1:11:32 > 1:11:36just seeing those blue eyes of Mason's and Indie's smile.

1:11:40 > 1:11:42Yeah.

1:11:42 > 1:11:44And I need them.

1:11:45 > 1:11:49'And there's absolutely a massive, selfish part of me

1:11:49 > 1:11:51'that hopes that they come back and say,'

1:11:51 > 1:11:55"Well, we've tried it, it's fantastic but we're staying here...

1:11:55 > 1:11:56"on the Welsh mountain."

1:11:58 > 1:12:00I mean, I can't even think about them

1:12:00 > 1:12:05getting on a plane at Heathrow or Gatwick, wherever it might be and...

1:12:05 > 1:12:07just waving bye.

1:12:07 > 1:12:09'Bye-bye!'

1:12:10 > 1:12:15If I didn't have the contact with Victoria and Scott and the children...

1:12:17 > 1:12:19..needless to say,

1:12:19 > 1:12:20(I'd miss them.)

1:12:23 > 1:12:26Um, will we miss you?

1:12:26 > 1:12:30Like the air I breathe, as you know.

1:12:30 > 1:12:34'Um... Yeah. Love you.'

1:12:34 > 1:12:35See you soon. Bye.

1:12:40 > 1:12:41- OK?- Yeah.

1:12:43 > 1:12:46- It's hard, isn't it?- Yeah.

1:12:47 > 1:12:51It brings a lump to your throat, straight away, thinking that...

1:12:51 > 1:12:55Just seeing their faces, not even thinking. Just seeing their faces.

1:12:55 > 1:12:58- I'm going to be upset. - You all right?- Yeah.

1:13:00 > 1:13:05Something in my eye, I think. I think it was a fly, I'm not sure.

1:13:05 > 1:13:07Yeah.

1:13:12 > 1:13:15At the end of an emotional week

1:13:15 > 1:13:19it was time to make the biggest decision of their lives.

1:13:19 > 1:13:22The Corbetts had a lot to consider.

1:13:24 > 1:13:27They'd found they wouldn't need a mortgage for their dream home.

1:13:27 > 1:13:31Scott surprised himself by choosing teaching in Australia.

1:13:31 > 1:13:32Australia!

1:13:32 > 1:13:34But worries mounted

1:13:34 > 1:13:38when they found out they'd only just be able to pay their bills.

1:13:38 > 1:13:43Seeing messages from home reinforced the reality of what they'd be giving up.

1:13:43 > 1:13:48They'd come close to making the move before Victoria's dad died

1:13:48 > 1:13:52but leaving her mum would take every ounce of faith she has in Scott's dream.

1:13:52 > 1:13:54Now it was the moment of truth.

1:13:54 > 1:13:56We've had a wonderful week in Australia,

1:13:56 > 1:14:01we've found out some really, really, really useful information.

1:14:01 > 1:14:04It's going to be a really, really tough decision

1:14:04 > 1:14:07but, based on what we've seen, we're going to vote...

1:14:07 > 1:14:12- ..Australia!- Australia!- Australia!

1:14:12 > 1:14:17- I didn't think you were going to! I think you were going to have a wobble.- No. No wobbles.

1:14:17 > 1:14:20No wobbles.

1:14:20 > 1:14:24Am I amazed that we're both thinking Australia? Er, no.

1:14:24 > 1:14:28It's... I'm guessing that it's always been at the back of my mind,

1:14:28 > 1:14:32even though I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat and it's really...

1:14:32 > 1:14:35I'm just excited that we're both thinking the same thing.

1:14:35 > 1:14:39It really has given us the opportunity to figure out

1:14:39 > 1:14:41whether this is the right decision

1:14:41 > 1:14:44and I really do think it is the right decision for our family.

1:14:44 > 1:14:48It's going to be hard... but I think it'll be good.

1:14:48 > 1:14:52- Definitely.- Definitely the right thing to do.- Yeah!

1:14:53 > 1:14:56After experiencing their week down under

1:14:56 > 1:14:59the Corbetts voted for a future in Australia.

1:14:59 > 1:15:02But once home, were they able to make that big leap

1:15:02 > 1:15:05and uproot their lives?

1:15:07 > 1:15:10One year on and we caught up with the Corbetts

1:15:10 > 1:15:13and found they were living in...

1:15:13 > 1:15:15..Australia.

1:15:16 > 1:15:20Scott, Victoria, Mason and Indie are back in sunny Adelaide.

1:15:20 > 1:15:23They made the move eight months ago

1:15:23 > 1:15:25and have bought a three-bedroom house

1:15:25 > 1:15:27in the suburb of Christies Beach.

1:15:27 > 1:15:31It's on the coast, 40 minutes south of the city centre

1:15:31 > 1:15:34in an up-and-coming area.

1:15:34 > 1:15:36During their trial week

1:15:36 > 1:15:39they were both wary of giving up the home they loved in Wales.

1:15:39 > 1:15:41So what convinced them to emigrate?

1:15:41 > 1:15:44When I got back, my immediate thoughts were,

1:15:44 > 1:15:47"I just need to move to Australia."

1:15:47 > 1:15:50I think we both did, but I, for sure, did.

1:15:50 > 1:15:53It just felt so right.

1:15:53 > 1:15:56You could see the lifestyle that we could achieve,

1:15:56 > 1:16:00and it just felt like, we've got to give it a go.

1:16:00 > 1:16:02At that point, we decided,

1:16:02 > 1:16:04"Right, let's just do it."

1:16:04 > 1:16:07And I had to get my mind into the thought of,

1:16:07 > 1:16:11"This is what we're doing, now is the time to look forward."

1:16:11 > 1:16:15There's no point looking back and dwelling on things,

1:16:15 > 1:16:18cos that's just going to make me miserable,

1:16:18 > 1:16:21just move forward, and make it the best it can possibly be.

1:16:21 > 1:16:26Leaving their home, and life, in Wales, was easier than they thought.

1:16:26 > 1:16:31We've been out here eight months, and that's gone really quickly.

1:16:31 > 1:16:33We came out at the beginning of January,

1:16:33 > 1:16:37and within three or four weeks we'd found the house,

1:16:37 > 1:16:39and it all just slotted in.

1:16:39 > 1:16:42We just felt really comfortable in this area,

1:16:42 > 1:16:44and thought, "Just go for it.

1:16:44 > 1:16:49"There's no point half-living it, if we're going to do it.

1:16:49 > 1:16:51"Let's just do it properly,

1:16:51 > 1:16:54"and give ourselves the best chance of settling in

1:16:54 > 1:16:57"and the best chance of really living the life."

1:16:57 > 1:17:03With their UK house sold, they seem to have found the ideal location.

1:17:03 > 1:17:05It's just a beautiful place.

1:17:05 > 1:17:11The park is two minutes down the road, the school just a couple of minutes' walk,

1:17:11 > 1:17:15so we've actually situated ourselves in a really nice area,

1:17:15 > 1:17:19for the way we are, and the way we live.

1:17:19 > 1:17:23The big difference for us is we've bought this house outright with no mortgage,

1:17:23 > 1:17:27and financially that has made an easy transition for us.

1:17:27 > 1:17:31We were looking to build, originally,

1:17:31 > 1:17:35but didn't see how we'd get anywhere near to the actual lifestyle we wanted,

1:17:35 > 1:17:40but this house, it's pretty much on the money,

1:17:40 > 1:17:43allowing us to put our stamp on the place.

1:17:43 > 1:17:45We've got a small upstairs deck,

1:17:45 > 1:17:50we'd like to extend that to a massive deck,

1:17:50 > 1:17:53downstairs is open to the elements, we'd like to glaze that in,

1:17:53 > 1:17:55to make it a downstairs living area,

1:17:55 > 1:17:59so that we can literally open all of the doors,

1:17:59 > 1:18:01the inside goes out and the outside comes in, so to speak,

1:18:01 > 1:18:03we need to build a garage,

1:18:03 > 1:18:09we've probably got about £60,000 worth of ideas in our minds

1:18:09 > 1:18:13but we've got about 6,000 pennies to spend on it!

1:18:16 > 1:18:20The thought of leaving behind those she loved in the UK

1:18:20 > 1:18:22was very difficult for Victoria.

1:18:22 > 1:18:27But she managed to overcome the emotional pain.

1:18:27 > 1:18:31Missing family hasn't really been an issue because you can talk

1:18:31 > 1:18:33face-to-face on the computer,

1:18:33 > 1:18:37and it's ideal, cos you don't actually feel like you're missing out on something.

1:18:37 > 1:18:41The kids get a certificate in swimming, and they can go on the computer and show

1:18:41 > 1:18:43Nanny, or Grandma and Grandpa,

1:18:43 > 1:18:45and it's great.

1:18:47 > 1:18:49For her, the biggest heartache was leaving her mum behind.

1:18:49 > 1:18:52So how has she dealt with it.

1:18:52 > 1:18:55We got here in the January, Mum came out in the March,

1:18:55 > 1:18:59she was here until the end of August,

1:18:59 > 1:19:02so I didn't miss her,

1:19:02 > 1:19:05cos she's been here most of the time!

1:19:05 > 1:19:09We've had a couple of weeks. Scott's mum and dad arrive tomorrow.

1:19:09 > 1:19:14With Scott and Victoria having coped so well with emigrating,

1:19:14 > 1:19:17its made the move easier for the children.

1:19:17 > 1:19:19They have settled in so well,

1:19:19 > 1:19:22totally hit the floor running.

1:19:22 > 1:19:29Yeah, they haven't had any issues at all, and absolutely love it.

1:19:29 > 1:19:35They're happy that the sun's shining and they get to play outside, life is good as far as they're concerned.

1:19:35 > 1:19:41And what do the children like so much about their new life?

1:19:41 > 1:19:45Playing, and going down the beach and surf and bodyboard.

1:19:45 > 1:19:50I splash the sea, but not surf.

1:19:50 > 1:19:52We went on a lifeboat,

1:19:52 > 1:19:57and we saw whales' tails sticking out of the water!

1:19:59 > 1:20:00And we saw sea lions!

1:20:03 > 1:20:06You get up, the sun is shining,

1:20:06 > 1:20:08you look out the window and see the beach,

1:20:08 > 1:20:10and you just smile, and think, "Brilliant."

1:20:10 > 1:20:13It's perfect, isn't it? It's great.

1:20:13 > 1:20:17It's just all slotted together. It was meant to be.

1:20:17 > 1:20:19It's just been easy.

1:20:26 > 1:20:31Once they decided to make the move, the idea was that Scott would get teaching work

1:20:31 > 1:20:36while Victoria stayed at home until the children were settled.

1:20:36 > 1:20:38Determined to make the move work,

1:20:38 > 1:20:41Scott didn't leave anything to chance.

1:20:41 > 1:20:45Before we emigrated, I emailed about ten different schools

1:20:45 > 1:20:48in the local area, and as it turned out,

1:20:48 > 1:20:49when I got here,

1:20:49 > 1:20:53my paperwork arrived on a Tuesday, they phoned me on the Friday,

1:20:53 > 1:20:56and said, "There's a job on Monday if you'd like it."

1:20:56 > 1:21:00So obviously I jumped straight in, and said, "Yes, please."

1:21:03 > 1:21:08My job here at the minute is half art, half PE.

1:21:08 > 1:21:11It's a great mix for me cos it's what I've done pretty much all through my teaching career.

1:21:11 > 1:21:16He's been working as a supply teacher but that has its benefits.

1:21:16 > 1:21:18You do get paid more over here.

1:21:18 > 1:21:22The cost of living is more, but you get paid more in the first instance.

1:21:22 > 1:21:23If I get a promotion,

1:21:23 > 1:21:25which might be happening shortly,

1:21:25 > 1:21:27I have my fingers crossed,

1:21:27 > 1:21:32in the UK, for being Head of Department I would have got paid

1:21:32 > 1:21:33about £40,000.

1:21:33 > 1:21:37For the same job over here, it's going to be more like

1:21:37 > 1:21:41£55,000, £56,000 a year.

1:21:41 > 1:21:43That's a fair increase.

1:21:43 > 1:21:45That's over a quarter.

1:21:45 > 1:21:49And even the teaching style in Australia seems to be

1:21:49 > 1:21:50to Scott's liking.

1:21:50 > 1:21:53A question lots of people ask me is,

1:21:53 > 1:21:57"Is teaching in the UK the same as in Australia?"

1:21:57 > 1:22:00Over here I'm very new within the school.

1:22:00 > 1:22:05Everything is new, the system, the kids, the staff,

1:22:05 > 1:22:07and what you have to realise is

1:22:07 > 1:22:10things are more laid back over here.

1:22:10 > 1:22:12Students have a different approach.

1:22:12 > 1:22:16But if you have the same expectations then students will come close to it,

1:22:16 > 1:22:19wherever they come from.

1:22:22 > 1:22:28For Scott, the move was always driven by his desire to live a better lifestyle with his family.

1:22:28 > 1:22:34My dream before we came was to maybe come home from work,

1:22:34 > 1:22:39grab my board, and with the kids down on the beach with my wife,

1:22:39 > 1:22:41they'd already be in the water playing.

1:22:41 > 1:22:45It happens, and it probably happens two or three nights a week.

1:22:45 > 1:22:47We come down the beach and just play,

1:22:47 > 1:22:50in and out the water, digging holes,

1:22:50 > 1:22:52bodyboarding, splashing.

1:22:56 > 1:22:59Spending time together as a family is just wonderful.

1:22:59 > 1:23:02It's what Australia meant for us.

1:23:02 > 1:23:04It's just perfect.

1:23:04 > 1:23:11This is definitely what we were hoping to achieve in terms of lifestyle.

1:23:11 > 1:23:12Just about!

1:23:14 > 1:23:18You don't have to think, "The weather forecast is nice this weekend,

1:23:18 > 1:23:20"we can make use of that one day",

1:23:20 > 1:23:25because it's just lovely all the time, which is great.

1:23:25 > 1:23:29It's got a beautiful summer. Spring and autumn is gorgeous.

1:23:29 > 1:23:31It's just beautiful.

1:23:31 > 1:23:35Having dreamt of making this move for over 20 years,

1:23:35 > 1:23:38how has finally emigrating affected Scott?

1:23:38 > 1:23:43Scott's reaction to moving to Australia has been really lovely,

1:23:43 > 1:23:46inasmuch as he is a lot more chilled out, relaxed,

1:23:46 > 1:23:52and he just really enjoys doing what he's doing right now,

1:23:52 > 1:23:57it's just being Dad, cos he just thrives on that.

1:23:57 > 1:24:00I just enjoy being, a lot more.

1:24:00 > 1:24:04There's so many things that I think you could accustomed to or take for granted,

1:24:04 > 1:24:06for example,

1:24:06 > 1:24:10the other evening I jump on my skateboard and go across

1:24:10 > 1:24:11to the esplanade,

1:24:11 > 1:24:13and watch the sun go down,

1:24:13 > 1:24:15and you'll see a pod of dolphins

1:24:15 > 1:24:17literally going across the water.

1:24:17 > 1:24:19It's just unbelievable.

1:24:19 > 1:24:22The other night as I was paddling back out,

1:24:22 > 1:24:24there was another guy surfing in,

1:24:24 > 1:24:27with literally a dolphin surfing next to him,

1:24:27 > 1:24:29coming through the waves,

1:24:29 > 1:24:34I'm watching him, watching the dolphin, watching the waves, it's just incredible.

1:24:36 > 1:24:39But you always think, maybe there is more to life.

1:24:39 > 1:24:41And as it turns out, there is.

1:24:43 > 1:24:48More to life than staying in a settled, safe place.

1:24:48 > 1:24:52Scott seems to have realised his hopes but for Victoria,

1:24:52 > 1:24:55Australia was always going to be a bigger challenge.

1:24:55 > 1:24:57Since the death of her father

1:24:57 > 1:25:02she's struggled with the thought of leaving her mum on the other side of the world.

1:25:02 > 1:25:05She's my best friend, as much as anything.

1:25:05 > 1:25:09The thought of leaving her here without my dad to sort of...

1:25:09 > 1:25:11keep her on the straight and narrow.

1:25:11 > 1:25:15She dotes on her grandkids, they're her only two grandkids,

1:25:15 > 1:25:18and the thought of doing that to her

1:25:18 > 1:25:23just rips my heart out, it's really hard.

1:25:23 > 1:25:27So how has she handled the move now that it has happened?

1:25:27 > 1:25:32Emotionally I think I've coped quite well with the actual moving here,

1:25:32 > 1:25:36inasmuch as before we left, Mum had already booked her flight,

1:25:36 > 1:25:41so I knew that there was a definite amount of time before I'd see her again,

1:25:41 > 1:25:44cos obviously with Dad, I'm missing him,

1:25:44 > 1:25:47and it being a very definite never going to see him again,

1:25:47 > 1:25:52the thought of doing that for a long period of time with Mum, was hard,

1:25:52 > 1:25:55but knowing that it was only going to be a few months

1:25:55 > 1:25:59and she was going to be out here for a long period of time,

1:25:59 > 1:26:02that made life so much easier,

1:26:02 > 1:26:06and also now Mum has been out here, she absolutely loved it,

1:26:06 > 1:26:11so much so that we've put plans in to put the granny annexe in the garden,

1:26:11 > 1:26:19so she's going to spend six months of the year out here, back and forth.

1:26:19 > 1:26:21I think that makes me feel much better,

1:26:21 > 1:26:25that I know that she thinks we're doing the right thing as well,

1:26:25 > 1:26:31and she thinks we're doing it so well that she's going to join us.

1:26:31 > 1:26:34In fact, since the visit, her mum has applied for a visa

1:26:34 > 1:26:36to move down under for good.

1:26:36 > 1:26:41Meaning Victoria's big problem about moving could soon be over.

1:26:41 > 1:26:46For the fairytale ending Scott just needs to persuade his parents

1:26:46 > 1:26:49to emigrate as well.

1:26:49 > 1:26:52It seems he might have that opportunity today.

1:26:52 > 1:26:56Mum and Dad are dropping in this morning, from Wales.

1:26:56 > 1:27:00So we're here to meet them. It's about 6:45am.

1:27:00 > 1:27:02We're all excited about seeing Grandma and Grandpa.

1:27:02 > 1:27:06It's been eight months since we've seen my parents.

1:27:06 > 1:27:11Everybody's going to be a bit excited, emotional, teary, I'd imagine.

1:27:11 > 1:27:14Mace is worried he's going to be squeezed a bit.

1:27:14 > 1:27:16A good morning. Nice morning.

1:27:27 > 1:27:29With such strong family ties

1:27:29 > 1:27:34sometimes the other side of the world doesn't seem so far away.

1:27:46 > 1:27:50For the Corbetts, it looks as if their Australian dream

1:27:50 > 1:27:51has come true.

1:27:51 > 1:27:54And with the possibility of Mum joining them

1:27:54 > 1:27:59there could be an even better future ahead for the whole family.
