0:00:02 > 0:00:06If seeing your sibling move to the other side of the world had left you

0:00:06 > 0:00:08feeling incomplete,

0:00:08 > 0:00:12you might be tempted to pack up and follow in their footsteps,

0:00:12 > 0:00:15but with a wife and two children to think of,

0:00:15 > 0:00:18making the move could prove easier said than done.

0:00:18 > 0:00:24Rehan Farooq is desperate to be reunited with his twin sister down under.

0:00:24 > 0:00:26It would be great to just be together again.

0:00:26 > 0:00:31But the thought of leaving her parents in the UK brings wife Tanya to tears.

0:00:31 > 0:00:34I don't know if I could say goodbye to them.

0:00:34 > 0:00:37A trial week in Australia reassures Rehan...

0:00:37 > 0:00:40If I could move here tomorrow, I would definitely make that move.

0:00:40 > 0:00:42..but leaves Tanya in turmoil.

0:00:42 > 0:00:46I don't know what it would take to convince me to move to Adelaide.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48So when it comes to the crunch,

0:00:48 > 0:00:52will she agree or disagree to make her husband's dream come true?

0:00:52 > 0:00:55It's the hugest decision I know that I'll ever make in my life.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21The sixth largest country on earth,

0:01:21 > 0:01:24Australia accounts for 5% of the world's landmass,

0:01:24 > 0:01:28stretching for 2,500 miles from east coast to west.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31But with just over a third of the population of the UK,

0:01:31 > 0:01:36there's plenty of room for the 34,000 Brits that head down under

0:01:36 > 0:01:39every year hoping to make the country their new home.

0:01:39 > 0:01:44Rehan Farooq has been contemplating moving to Australia

0:01:44 > 0:01:49ever since his twin sister made the move five years ago.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52But with a wife and two children to think of,

0:01:52 > 0:01:57he knows turning his back on life in the UK will be easier said than done.

0:01:57 > 0:02:02So, will a trial week down under be enough to secure him the life he

0:02:02 > 0:02:07dreams of? Or will the reality of emigrating to the other side of the world

0:02:07 > 0:02:10prove too big a challenge to conquer?

0:02:12 > 0:02:16The 23-hour journey to Adelaide has taken the Farooq family 10,000 miles

0:02:16 > 0:02:19from home. And with illness to deal with en route,

0:02:19 > 0:02:22it has been a particularly tough trip for them all.

0:02:25 > 0:02:26It was awful, absolutely awful.

0:02:26 > 0:02:29Rehan got ill, Elijah got ill.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32The connecting flight that we couldn't get because they had to send him

0:02:32 > 0:02:36for a medical examination to make sure we were fit to fly.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39Anything that could have went wrong, went wrong on this flight.

0:02:39 > 0:02:43Having finally arrived, Rehan is beginning to feel the pressure

0:02:43 > 0:02:46of the even bigger challenge ahead.

0:02:46 > 0:02:50I want to show Tanya that this is a good move for us.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53We haven't had the best of starts but I just hope it gets better.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56I think Rehan has a lot to prove,

0:02:57 > 0:03:00dragging us all the way to the other side of the world.

0:03:00 > 0:03:04Because it hasn't been a good experience so far.

0:03:05 > 0:03:09Fortunately, there is something, or rather someone, to do their spirits,

0:03:09 > 0:03:13as Rehan's sister Rohela has flown down from Sydney

0:03:13 > 0:03:15to welcome them all to Australia.

0:03:15 > 0:03:17It's great to be here, finally.

0:03:17 > 0:03:19I'm so excited to see Rohela.

0:03:19 > 0:03:23I'm really excited that Rehan and Tanya and the kids are here to visit me.

0:03:23 > 0:03:27So fingers crossed. I do hope they get to love the place as much as I have.

0:03:29 > 0:03:31Oh, my God.

0:03:31 > 0:03:33Hello.

0:03:33 > 0:03:37There's lots of catching up to do as well as some big decisions to make

0:03:37 > 0:03:39over the next seven days.

0:03:39 > 0:03:41But, after the challenging journey,

0:03:41 > 0:03:44the first step for Rehan is getting some rest.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52The Farooq family is from Tyne & Wear.

0:03:52 > 0:03:53They're dad Rehan,

0:03:53 > 0:03:56mum Tanya, two-year-old Elena

0:03:56 > 0:03:57and Elijah, who's one.

0:03:59 > 0:04:04The family love nothing more than spending time together but Tanya and Rehan

0:04:04 > 0:04:07admit they don't always share the same approach to life.

0:04:07 > 0:04:13She is a realist. I'm always looking forward to the next opportunity.

0:04:14 > 0:04:18Rehan's job as an engineer has given plenty of scope to try out new places

0:04:18 > 0:04:20over the past few years.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23And Tanya's always been content to follow his lead.

0:04:23 > 0:04:27We've moved approximately ten times in 14 years.

0:04:27 > 0:04:31Rehan's job has taken us all over the UK.

0:04:31 > 0:04:33We've lived here, there and everywhere.

0:04:36 > 0:04:40Happily, their last move put the family back on Tanya's home turf.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44I'm only ten minutes away from my parents.

0:04:44 > 0:04:48They get to spend most of their spare time with us.

0:04:48 > 0:04:51They get to see their grandchildren whenever they want to.

0:04:52 > 0:04:57But while she's quite settled, Rehan's hatched plans for another move.

0:04:57 > 0:05:01Only this time he wants to relocate to the other side of the world and

0:05:01 > 0:05:03work isn't his biggest motivation.

0:05:03 > 0:05:07The main reason why I want to go to Australia is to be with Rohela,

0:05:07 > 0:05:09my twin sister. We were very close growing up.

0:05:09 > 0:05:11It would be great to just be together again.

0:05:12 > 0:05:15Rohela swapped the UK for Sydney six years ago.

0:05:15 > 0:05:20And it breaks Rehan's heart that she's never met Elena or Elijah.

0:05:20 > 0:05:24I feel sad. We're actually building our lives away from each other.

0:05:24 > 0:05:27She's missed out on my children growing up.

0:05:28 > 0:05:30I've missed out on Rohela getting married.

0:05:30 > 0:05:33It would have been great to have been able to share that experience with her.

0:05:33 > 0:05:35He's completely missed her.

0:05:35 > 0:05:38They were inseparable as children.

0:05:38 > 0:05:39They did everything together.

0:05:39 > 0:05:44He's now a dad and his twin sister hasn't met his children.

0:05:44 > 0:05:50It's created even more of a drive in him to get to Australia.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53Rehan's confident it could prove to be the family's final move.

0:05:53 > 0:05:57I think this is the right time to put down permanent roots and I would say

0:05:57 > 0:05:58Australia's the place to be.

0:05:59 > 0:06:02When we moved last time to Newcastle,

0:06:02 > 0:06:04this was our permanent roots.

0:06:05 > 0:06:08But for Tanya it could be a step too far.

0:06:08 > 0:06:11If Rehan wasn't pushing to go to Australia,

0:06:11 > 0:06:14I probably wouldn't be getting on a plane going anywhere near the place.

0:06:14 > 0:06:16I love sunshine,

0:06:16 > 0:06:19but I can get sunshine a lot closer than Australia.

0:06:19 > 0:06:23She also worries his desire to live closer to her sister is clouding his

0:06:23 > 0:06:27judgement about the practicalities of making such a mammoth move.

0:06:27 > 0:06:30Your heart just wants it to work regardless, doesn't it?

0:06:30 > 0:06:32I'm just hoping it will work.

0:06:33 > 0:06:38I'm more realistic. I don't think we can afford the lifestyle that we

0:06:38 > 0:06:40would... Well, that I would want.

0:06:40 > 0:06:43- Bouncy, bouncy. - Look at my baby.

0:06:43 > 0:06:46He sees it more as an adventure.

0:06:48 > 0:06:49I'm the head, he's the heart.

0:06:49 > 0:06:54Rehan admits upping sticks and starting again in a country they've never

0:06:54 > 0:06:56been to is a huge gamble.

0:06:56 > 0:06:58We've got a lovely house.

0:06:58 > 0:07:00I've got a great job.

0:07:00 > 0:07:03It's a big risk for us to move over the other side of the world

0:07:03 > 0:07:04and start all over again.

0:07:05 > 0:07:08But the prospect of living on the same continent as Rohela,

0:07:08 > 0:07:11and the lure of a better lifestyle for the whole family

0:07:11 > 0:07:14has convinced him it's where they should be.

0:07:14 > 0:07:18I'd love to have a barbecue and have the outdoor lifestyle,

0:07:18 > 0:07:22bring the children outside and have a meal out in the garden.

0:07:22 > 0:07:25It's the outdoorsy thing that I'd really love.

0:07:25 > 0:07:28All he needs to do now is get Tanya on board.

0:07:28 > 0:07:30£2, that's a dear ice cream.

0:07:30 > 0:07:32Don't climb on it.

0:07:32 > 0:07:36While she appreciates Rehan's reasons for going,

0:07:36 > 0:07:40as an only child, the idea of leaving her folks is too painful to comprehend.

0:07:40 > 0:07:43Saying goodbye to my mum and dad...

0:07:47 > 0:07:48Is just unthinkable, really.

0:07:51 > 0:07:52They're both getting old.

0:07:54 > 0:07:57And I like being just around the corner.

0:07:57 > 0:08:00I don't know if I could say goodbye to them.

0:08:02 > 0:08:07I need to know that I'll be happy because I'm more than happy here

0:08:07 > 0:08:10and it will take a lot to leave my parents.

0:08:10 > 0:08:13And leave what we have here in the UK.

0:08:16 > 0:08:18With so much at stake,

0:08:18 > 0:08:23Rehan knows their trial week down under will be his best chance yet to find

0:08:23 > 0:08:26out if Australia really is where their future lies.

0:08:26 > 0:08:28A lot is riding on this week.

0:08:28 > 0:08:32Going to Australia, it has to tick all of the boxes for both me,

0:08:32 > 0:08:34Tanya and the family.

0:08:34 > 0:08:37And if it doesn't, the dream's going to be over.

0:08:38 > 0:08:40This week is make or break.

0:08:42 > 0:08:45It has to be, yes, we can, let's do it.

0:08:45 > 0:08:46Or no, we can't.

0:08:54 > 0:08:57The Farooqs are spending their trial week in Adelaide,

0:08:57 > 0:09:01capital of South Australia and home to around one million people.

0:09:02 > 0:09:05Their base is a two-bedroom cottage in Glenelg North,

0:09:05 > 0:09:09just steps away from the beach, and 15 minutes' drive from the city centre.

0:09:11 > 0:09:13After the tough journey to get here,

0:09:13 > 0:09:16the family have had a good night's sleep and are feeling upbeat about

0:09:16 > 0:09:18their new surroundings.

0:09:19 > 0:09:21When I came through the door I thought,

0:09:21 > 0:09:22this is an amazing little house.

0:09:22 > 0:09:25It put a smile on Tanya's face.

0:09:25 > 0:09:28- That made me happy.- I could see myself living in a house like this.

0:09:28 > 0:09:30That's nice to hear.

0:09:30 > 0:09:31Doesn't mean it's in Australia.

0:09:33 > 0:09:36The house may have got a stamp of approval but,

0:09:36 > 0:09:37as the family settle in,

0:09:37 > 0:09:42it's clear Tanya's still mulling over the events of the past 24 hours.

0:09:42 > 0:09:44It's been quite traumatic, actually.

0:09:44 > 0:09:48I'm so tired. And the week ahead is really not something I'm looking

0:09:48 > 0:09:50forward to.

0:09:50 > 0:09:54Rehan will have his work cut out if he's to change his wife's mind about

0:09:54 > 0:09:56making Australia their home.

0:09:57 > 0:09:58There's lots of worries.

0:09:58 > 0:10:01Will it be the best thing for us?

0:10:01 > 0:10:03Is it the right move?

0:10:03 > 0:10:06I don't know what it would take to convince me to move to Adelaide.

0:10:16 > 0:10:20Back in the UK, the Farooq family live in a three-bedroom semidetached

0:10:20 > 0:10:23house nine miles outside Tyne and Wear.

0:10:23 > 0:10:25We loved it from day one, didn't we?

0:10:25 > 0:10:30After 14 moves in ten years, they're very happy in their latest home.

0:10:30 > 0:10:34We've put a lot of time and effort in developing the house.

0:10:34 > 0:10:35I absolutely love it.

0:10:35 > 0:10:37But Tanya has a tiny complaint.

0:10:37 > 0:10:39It could be bigger.

0:10:40 > 0:10:42If they do decide to move,

0:10:42 > 0:10:47the family have £250,000 to spend on a home down under and they know

0:10:47 > 0:10:49exactly what they want.

0:10:49 > 0:10:52Near a beach. Being able to go down and play on the beach with the

0:10:52 > 0:10:56- children.- Open plan kitchen/dining/living, please.

0:10:56 > 0:10:59- That would be nice.- I'd love a barbecue area.

0:10:59 > 0:11:00Downstairs toilet.

0:11:00 > 0:11:02Pool. Spare bedroom.

0:11:03 > 0:11:07That's quite a list but Rehan's more than happy to compromise.

0:11:07 > 0:11:12He'd quite happily rent a little apartment/cardboard box

0:11:12 > 0:11:14to make the dream of Australia work.

0:11:19 > 0:11:22To find out what kind of house they could have in Australia,

0:11:22 > 0:11:25today we'll show the family three properties,

0:11:25 > 0:11:29two on budget and a third which could be their dream home.

0:11:29 > 0:11:32Only after they've seen each one will they find out its value.

0:11:32 > 0:11:34It's a nice, sunny morning, isn't it?

0:11:34 > 0:11:38For the first property, the Farooqs head to the suburb of Hackham,

0:11:38 > 0:11:41just 35 minutes' drive from Adelaide city centre.

0:11:42 > 0:11:47This four-bedroom two-storey property is only ten minutes' drive to the beach.

0:11:47 > 0:11:50Look at that! That's huge.

0:11:50 > 0:11:53Size shouldn't be an issue with this house.

0:11:53 > 0:11:55Wow! I'm definitely impressed by this.

0:11:55 > 0:11:57So far, so good.

0:11:57 > 0:12:00While the children are looked after by a childminder,

0:12:00 > 0:12:03Rehan and Tanya head inside for a better look.

0:12:03 > 0:12:05This is quite nice, isn't it?

0:12:05 > 0:12:07Oh, wow! That's a staircase, isn't it?

0:12:07 > 0:12:10I can imagine Elena strutting down here with her princess dresses on.

0:12:10 > 0:12:12- I love the open plan.- Nice open plan, the space.

0:12:12 > 0:12:14- Yeah.- Very bright.

0:12:14 > 0:12:16- I love how bright it is.- Far too nice.

0:12:16 > 0:12:18Definitely can't afford this.

0:12:18 > 0:12:21Regardless of the cost, Tanya's thinking ahead.

0:12:21 > 0:12:23I can see my Christmas tree there. I love it.

0:12:23 > 0:12:25And the kitchen impresses, too.

0:12:25 > 0:12:28Really nice, open plan kitchen.

0:12:28 > 0:12:31Can you imagine the kids running around?

0:12:31 > 0:12:35Tanya's excited to discover another tasty feature she likes.

0:12:35 > 0:12:37- Oh, wow!- A pantry as well!

0:12:37 > 0:12:39No way. That's the best thing ever.

0:12:39 > 0:12:41Something we don't have at home, isn't it?

0:12:42 > 0:12:44Ah, this is nice.

0:12:44 > 0:12:46The outside space pleases, too,

0:12:46 > 0:12:49despite the absence of one important feature.

0:12:49 > 0:12:51There's no room for a pool.

0:12:53 > 0:12:54But I would manage with this.

0:12:54 > 0:12:57- I think it's gorgeous.- You've got a place for the barbie.

0:12:57 > 0:12:59You've got your sitting-eating area.

0:13:00 > 0:13:04Back inside, the master bedroom's fit for purpose.

0:13:04 > 0:13:06- Oh!- This is nice, isn't it?

0:13:06 > 0:13:07It's huge.

0:13:08 > 0:13:11- Super-sized.- Come on.

0:13:11 > 0:13:13Let's have a look at the other bedrooms.

0:13:13 > 0:13:15- Mightn't have any more.- I hope it does.

0:13:15 > 0:13:17Let's see.

0:13:17 > 0:13:21Three more bedrooms means there's even the spare room Tanya wants.

0:13:21 > 0:13:23This is a nice size.

0:13:23 > 0:13:25Definitely. Elena's room.

0:13:25 > 0:13:28It's got pink bedding on it. I think it will be her room.

0:13:28 > 0:13:29It's more than perfect.

0:13:29 > 0:13:32And Rehan's spotted something he likes in the bathroom.

0:13:32 > 0:13:34A Jacuzzi bath. Wow!

0:13:34 > 0:13:36I've always wanted one of them.

0:13:37 > 0:13:39Elena would love that.

0:13:39 > 0:13:43I think she'd be wanting bath time every day.

0:13:43 > 0:13:46- That's a swimming pool!- I love how open plan the house is.

0:13:46 > 0:13:49I love the whole layout. It's perfect.

0:13:49 > 0:13:52Tanya's enthusiasm is great news for Rehan.

0:13:52 > 0:13:55But, with £250,000 to spend,

0:13:55 > 0:13:58is this house somewhere they could afford to call home?

0:13:58 > 0:14:01I'd probably guess this is probably round about 300,000.

0:14:03 > 0:14:05Hasn't got a pool.

0:14:05 > 0:14:07270,000.

0:14:11 > 0:14:13Go on. We're just going to have to find out. Turn it over.

0:14:13 > 0:14:15- I don't know if I can. Ready?- Go on.

0:14:18 > 0:14:21That's over £2,000 under budget.

0:14:22 > 0:14:24We can afford this house.

0:14:24 > 0:14:25Shall we move tomorrow?

0:14:27 > 0:14:28Save flying back.

0:14:30 > 0:14:33House hunting has got off to a great start.

0:14:33 > 0:14:36And there are still two more properties to view.

0:14:40 > 0:14:42The next is in Huntfield Heights,

0:14:42 > 0:14:46a newly-developed area just 15 minutes' drive to the beach.

0:14:46 > 0:14:48With lots of playgrounds on their doorstep,

0:14:48 > 0:14:51will this modern four-bedroom home hit the spot?

0:14:53 > 0:14:56It certainly has kerb appeal from Rehan.

0:14:56 > 0:14:57Wow! This is lovely, isn't it?

0:14:59 > 0:15:01- Tanya...- It's nice.

0:15:01 > 0:15:03I preferred the first one.

0:15:03 > 0:15:04I couldn't park on the drive.

0:15:04 > 0:15:08I can foresee Elena tumbling down the front garden.

0:15:08 > 0:15:11Not as child friendly as the first one.

0:15:11 > 0:15:14Hopefully, inside will be more appealing.

0:15:16 > 0:15:19- Wow!- This is nicely done out.

0:15:19 > 0:15:22This is really nice.

0:15:22 > 0:15:26The decor and view are hitting the right spot for Tanya but Rehan's

0:15:26 > 0:15:28baffled by the layout.

0:15:28 > 0:15:30What is this - the living room? I don't know what it is.

0:15:30 > 0:15:32Is it hallway, a living room? I'm not sure,

0:15:32 > 0:15:33A bit confusing, isn't it?

0:15:33 > 0:15:36All becomes clear in the next room.

0:15:36 > 0:15:38This is the living area.

0:15:38 > 0:15:40Tanya's not impressed though.

0:15:40 > 0:15:42I think it's too modern for me.

0:15:43 > 0:15:44I'm a bit old-fashioned.

0:15:46 > 0:15:49And Rehan's not sure either.

0:15:49 > 0:15:50I just don't think it's child friendly.

0:15:50 > 0:15:55There's too many levels, too many things to look out for, where the kids are.

0:15:56 > 0:15:58The interior hasn't won them over.

0:15:58 > 0:16:01Perhaps things will look better outside.

0:16:01 > 0:16:03Is this it? Is this the garden?

0:16:03 > 0:16:06All I can see is, like, 'Elena, stop climbing on there'.

0:16:06 > 0:16:09- Get down!- She could climb on that wall and fall, couldn't she?

0:16:10 > 0:16:12I'm having nightmares with this.

0:16:12 > 0:16:14On the plus side, there is a pool.

0:16:14 > 0:16:17Oh, this looks nice.

0:16:17 > 0:16:18This would be cool for the kids.

0:16:18 > 0:16:20They'd enjoy this, wouldn't they?

0:16:20 > 0:16:23- They would.- It doesn't make me want to buy the house, though.

0:16:23 > 0:16:25It's not sounding like the house for them.

0:16:25 > 0:16:27So far.

0:16:27 > 0:16:30Perhaps the four large bedrooms, all featuring walk-in wardrobes,

0:16:30 > 0:16:31will appeal.

0:16:31 > 0:16:33This is the master bedroom.

0:16:33 > 0:16:37You'd think this would be bigger for this house, wouldn't you?

0:16:37 > 0:16:39- Yeah.- I can't see a wardrobe.

0:16:39 > 0:16:44Realising she's spoken too soon, things start to look up for Tanya.

0:16:44 > 0:16:46That makes a difference.

0:16:46 > 0:16:47That's impressive. I like that.

0:16:47 > 0:16:48That's huge.

0:16:49 > 0:16:51Whoa!

0:16:51 > 0:16:55The excitement continues when they see the family bathroom.

0:16:55 > 0:16:58I love this, absolutely love this.

0:16:58 > 0:17:01And the remaining bedrooms go down well, too.

0:17:01 > 0:17:03This is a nice children's room, isn't it?

0:17:03 > 0:17:06This is cute. Elena would love this.

0:17:06 > 0:17:07She'd love the bunk bed.

0:17:08 > 0:17:11After mixed feelings on this property,

0:17:11 > 0:17:14it's time to find out how much it's worth.

0:17:14 > 0:17:16- Right.- What do you think then?

0:17:16 > 0:17:20It's a lovely house but I don't think it's what we're looking for.

0:17:20 > 0:17:22I don't think we could afford it,

0:17:22 > 0:17:24but equally I don't think it's my dream house, either.

0:17:24 > 0:17:29I think it will be in the region of round about £280,000.

0:17:29 > 0:17:31£260,000?

0:17:31 > 0:17:33Shall we have a look then?

0:17:36 > 0:17:37Let's have a look.

0:17:39 > 0:17:41- Oh!- There you go.

0:17:41 > 0:17:43That's really shocking. I thought it would be a lot more than that.

0:17:43 > 0:17:47That's £5,300 under budget.

0:17:47 > 0:17:48Would you want it at that price?

0:17:48 > 0:17:53I don't know if I'd want this house but it's nice to know that it's

0:17:53 > 0:17:54- affordable.- Yeah.

0:17:54 > 0:17:58I'd love to see what we can get for our budget or a bit more.

0:17:58 > 0:17:59I'm excited now.

0:17:59 > 0:18:01With a garden and with a pool. A proper pool.

0:18:01 > 0:18:02A proper pool.

0:18:05 > 0:18:09Tanya is happy about what their budget can afford in Australia.

0:18:09 > 0:18:12Rehan's feeling positive he's winning her around.

0:18:12 > 0:18:14So, things are looking good.

0:18:15 > 0:18:17To round off their search,

0:18:17 > 0:18:21the couple prepare to view what we think could be their dream home.

0:18:21 > 0:18:26Situated 23 miles from Adelaide city centre, the coastal suburb of Moana

0:18:26 > 0:18:30offers all the facilities the family could need, and a stunning beach and

0:18:30 > 0:18:33children's playground just steps from the front door.

0:18:33 > 0:18:37Will this four-bedroom house, featuring panoramic ocean views,

0:18:37 > 0:18:40impress the Farooqs?

0:18:40 > 0:18:41Whoa! That is huge.

0:18:41 > 0:18:45- Massive, isn't it?- It's like a little mini palace.

0:18:45 > 0:18:46Tanya's happy straightaway.

0:18:47 > 0:18:49I like the little balcony.

0:18:49 > 0:18:51Love the stonework. Love the pillars.

0:18:51 > 0:18:55I love everything. If this is affordable, I would move here.

0:18:58 > 0:19:00And, once indoors, things only get better.

0:19:00 > 0:19:01A never ending hallway.

0:19:03 > 0:19:04Oh, my gosh!

0:19:06 > 0:19:08- That's huge.- That's open plan.

0:19:08 > 0:19:10I totally love this kitchen.

0:19:10 > 0:19:12It's got everything I want.

0:19:12 > 0:19:15More than. I mean it's got a dishwasher.

0:19:15 > 0:19:17It's got a huge fridge freezer.

0:19:17 > 0:19:19Ice, water, pantry.

0:19:19 > 0:19:20Utility room.

0:19:20 > 0:19:24Tanya can already see the family living here.

0:19:24 > 0:19:29You'd probably be embedded in that seat there while I'm cooking and

0:19:29 > 0:19:31the kids will be jumping all over.

0:19:31 > 0:19:34This is exactly what I had in mind.

0:19:34 > 0:19:36This is my dream.

0:19:36 > 0:19:39And the garden is just what Rehan wants, too.

0:19:39 > 0:19:42This is ideal, this open space outside.

0:19:42 > 0:19:44We've got a gated pool.

0:19:44 > 0:19:45And that's a proper pool.

0:19:47 > 0:19:49That's what you come to Australia for.

0:19:49 > 0:19:52Finally, the perfect pool.

0:19:52 > 0:19:55Back inside, the ideal bedroom for Elena.

0:19:55 > 0:19:58Ah! How sweet.

0:19:58 > 0:20:01That's quite a big room actually, for the kids, isn't it?

0:20:01 > 0:20:04The master bedroom also gets the thumbs up.

0:20:04 > 0:20:08This bedroom really is as grand as the house is, isn't it?

0:20:08 > 0:20:09Yeah.

0:20:09 > 0:20:12Until the walk-in wardrobe poses a problem.

0:20:12 > 0:20:13I'd have to buy more clothes.

0:20:13 > 0:20:14Trust you to say that.

0:20:14 > 0:20:16- Outdoor balcony.- Wow!

0:20:16 > 0:20:19With Tanya having found her perfect property,

0:20:19 > 0:20:22Rehan's dream is looking closer to reality than ever.

0:20:22 > 0:20:29This house would make me fly back and forth between here and the UK,

0:20:29 > 0:20:30for definite.

0:20:31 > 0:20:32I didn't think you'd say that.

0:20:32 > 0:20:35I didn't think I would, after everything.

0:20:35 > 0:20:38But will the price tag be as attractive?

0:20:38 > 0:20:42It's in an ideal location, it's got a pool.

0:20:42 > 0:20:45I think this house is worth around £350,000.

0:20:45 > 0:20:47I'm scared to look now.

0:20:47 > 0:20:50- Shall we have a look?- I'm dreading this one.

0:20:52 > 0:20:53I'll do it.

0:20:53 > 0:20:54Oh, I don't want to do it.

0:20:56 > 0:21:00That's nearly £90,000 over budget.

0:21:00 > 0:21:03Unless the family can up their earnings down under,

0:21:03 > 0:21:06the dream house looks out of reach for now.

0:21:06 > 0:21:08Oh, that's a shame, isn't it?

0:21:08 > 0:21:09I feel a bit gutted really.

0:21:09 > 0:21:12- It is perfect.- Yeah, really gutted.

0:21:12 > 0:21:14Honestly gutted that I couldn't get it for you right now.

0:21:15 > 0:21:18Despite a disappointing end,

0:21:18 > 0:21:21house-hunting was largely positive for the Farooqs.

0:21:21 > 0:21:24Property one impressed both Rehan and Tanya,

0:21:24 > 0:21:27even without having a pool - and it was under budget.

0:21:29 > 0:21:31The second house had the swimming pool

0:21:31 > 0:21:33but wasn't child friendly enough for Tanya.

0:21:35 > 0:21:38Property three was practically perfect in every way,

0:21:38 > 0:21:40except for the price,

0:21:40 > 0:21:41and the couple were deflated

0:21:41 > 0:21:45to discover the dream home wasn't achievable on their budget.

0:21:47 > 0:21:52So, how will the day impact on their vote between property in Australia and the UK?

0:22:00 > 0:22:01- Australia.- Australia.

0:22:02 > 0:22:06I'm really surprised, after the terrible journey we had yesterday,

0:22:06 > 0:22:08that you voted for Australia.

0:22:08 > 0:22:09Because the houses are amazing.

0:22:09 > 0:22:12There's no way we could get anything like that in the UK.

0:22:12 > 0:22:14The beach is on my doorstep.

0:22:14 > 0:22:18More than enough room for friends, family to stay.

0:22:18 > 0:22:19I'm really happy about that.

0:22:26 > 0:22:30A unanimous vote for Australia means Rehan could be one step closer

0:22:30 > 0:22:32to his dream of a life down under.

0:22:32 > 0:22:35But there's a long way to go yet

0:22:35 > 0:22:39if Tanya's to be convinced it would be the right move for the family.

0:22:39 > 0:22:42Finding good job prospects in Australia will be key,

0:22:42 > 0:22:46if they're to afford the lifestyle and home they wish for.

0:22:50 > 0:22:53Back in the UK, Rehan is an electrical design engineer.

0:22:53 > 0:22:54I really enjoy my work.

0:22:54 > 0:22:56It's very challenging, different every day.

0:23:00 > 0:23:01Despite pushing for the move,

0:23:01 > 0:23:06he admits leaving his role here and finding a new one down under is pretty daunting.

0:23:06 > 0:23:09I've worked very hard in the last eight years to build up my

0:23:09 > 0:23:13career. So, handing in my notice to a good job here in the north-east

0:23:13 > 0:23:16is a huge risk for me. Having to start again over in Australia,

0:23:18 > 0:23:20it's a scary prospect.

0:23:20 > 0:23:22Tanya is currently on maternity leave.

0:23:22 > 0:23:23But if they move,

0:23:23 > 0:23:27she hopes to return to work as a teaching assistant down under.

0:23:28 > 0:23:31While Elena and Elijah are looked after by a childminder,

0:23:31 > 0:23:35the couple head out to explore work opportunities in Adelaide.

0:23:35 > 0:23:37Today's a really important day.

0:23:37 > 0:23:42Just to know and finally find out whether we can actually make this move.

0:23:43 > 0:23:46We've arranged for Rehan to visit a large water company

0:23:46 > 0:23:48for a meeting with Richard Grave,

0:23:48 > 0:23:51senior manager of engineering services.

0:23:53 > 0:23:58So, Rehan, we're now in SA Water's main operational control centre.

0:23:58 > 0:24:03After a quick look around, Richard gives Rehan some disappointing news.

0:24:03 > 0:24:06Your current qualification doesn't quite meet the level of an engineer

0:24:06 > 0:24:10here in Australia. However, working through Engineers Australia,

0:24:10 > 0:24:13you can apply to go through a competency assessment programme.

0:24:13 > 0:24:17The good news is, Rehan's experience will stand him in good stead and the

0:24:17 > 0:24:20process should be complete within three months.

0:24:20 > 0:24:24So assuming everything goes to plan, would he be able to land a job?

0:24:25 > 0:24:27I wouldn't expect you to have too much trouble finding work,

0:24:27 > 0:24:29given your experience.

0:24:29 > 0:24:32Once you've completed the competency assessment and have that

0:24:32 > 0:24:33qualification of an engineer,

0:24:33 > 0:24:36we'd definitely consider you for a position at SA Water.

0:24:36 > 0:24:39That's fantastic. That's good news to hear that, definitely.

0:24:39 > 0:24:40Very promising.

0:24:40 > 0:24:44Meanwhile, Tanya's visiting Flagstaff Hill Primary School for some

0:24:44 > 0:24:47hands-on experience in an Aussie classroom.

0:24:47 > 0:24:49Happy, or sad, or mad?

0:24:49 > 0:24:50- Mad.- Do you think so?

0:24:52 > 0:24:54To get the lowdown on local education,

0:24:54 > 0:24:57we've arranged by her to meet principal Peter Scragg.

0:24:57 > 0:24:59Welcome to Australia.

0:24:59 > 0:25:00Thank you. It's good to be here.

0:25:01 > 0:25:06The most important thing for Tanya is finding a job that fits around family life.

0:25:06 > 0:25:08I've got two small children.

0:25:08 > 0:25:11Is there the possibility to work part time here in Adelaide?

0:25:11 > 0:25:14Initially, most of the jobs start out part-time.

0:25:14 > 0:25:16You then start to increase your hours.

0:25:16 > 0:25:18That's good to know.

0:25:18 > 0:25:20It's encouraging news.

0:25:20 > 0:25:25Back at the water company, Rehan's discovering what his work-life balance could be like, too.

0:25:26 > 0:25:29One thing we do like to promote is work-life balance.

0:25:29 > 0:25:31If we've got a healthy home life,

0:25:31 > 0:25:33then we're going to get the best of our employees.

0:25:33 > 0:25:36Our current working week is 37 and a half hours per week.

0:25:36 > 0:25:39It looks like the right opportunities could exist in Australia for both

0:25:39 > 0:25:41Tanya and Rehan.

0:25:41 > 0:25:46Will their potential salaries afford them the lifestyle they want?

0:25:46 > 0:25:47With your level of experience,

0:25:47 > 0:25:50you'd come into the business as a senior electrical engineer,

0:25:50 > 0:25:53and the salary would start at 65,500 British pounds,

0:25:53 > 0:25:57and could potentially grow up to £71,000 in that role.

0:25:57 > 0:26:02That's a whopping £25,000 increase on Rehan's UK salary.

0:26:02 > 0:26:05Will it be good news for Tanya, too?

0:26:05 > 0:26:08You'd be earning about £29,000 per year.

0:26:09 > 0:26:12That's over £20,000 more than she could earn in the UK.

0:26:12 > 0:26:15And Tanya can't believe what she's hearing.

0:26:15 > 0:26:17So, can I just clarify?

0:26:17 > 0:26:22That's three days a week for £29,000.

0:26:22 > 0:26:26- That's correct.- As a teaching assistant here in Australia.

0:26:26 > 0:26:29- Absolutely.- That's amazing.

0:26:29 > 0:26:30That's...

0:26:31 > 0:26:33I didn't want to move to Australia.

0:26:33 > 0:26:35I didn't want to move to Australia.

0:26:35 > 0:26:39Such positive news means Tanya's defence for staying in the UK is

0:26:39 > 0:26:41crumbling fast.

0:26:41 > 0:26:45- Tanya, the good news is we actually have vacancies here at the school next year.- Wow! Really?

0:26:45 > 0:26:47Absolutely. We're expanding.

0:26:47 > 0:26:48That's the best news.

0:26:48 > 0:26:52It's been a great day for Tanya and, when the couple reunite,

0:26:52 > 0:26:54she can't wait to share her findings.

0:26:54 > 0:26:57I've got some amazing news.

0:26:57 > 0:27:01I'd be looking at potentially earning £29,000.

0:27:01 > 0:27:02- Really?- For three days.

0:27:02 > 0:27:04- Wow!- So, how did your day go?

0:27:04 > 0:27:07It went really well. Very positive.

0:27:07 > 0:27:12They're looking for engineers in Adelaide and South Australia.

0:27:12 > 0:27:14So, I could potentially work out here.

0:27:14 > 0:27:16- Wow! That's really good. - I'm so happy.

0:27:16 > 0:27:20We both had a really good day.

0:27:20 > 0:27:25So, how will their discoveries impact on their choice between work at home or away?

0:27:31 > 0:27:32- Australia.- Australia.

0:27:34 > 0:27:35Why did you vote Australia?

0:27:35 > 0:27:37Because there's a lot of money on the line.

0:27:37 > 0:27:40A lot of money to earn, potentially.

0:27:40 > 0:27:42But I've got a lot to lose.

0:27:42 > 0:27:45To leave my family and everything.

0:27:45 > 0:27:50It has to be more than what the UK can offer.

0:27:50 > 0:27:53I'm really happy you've voted for Australia.

0:27:53 > 0:27:57Again, I feel like the dream I've always had,

0:27:57 > 0:27:59it looks like it could happen that we could come.

0:28:06 > 0:28:12Bit by bit, Rehan and Tanya are piecing together what Australia can offer them.

0:28:12 > 0:28:16Hopefully, a day exploring the local lifestyle with Elena and Elijah

0:28:16 > 0:28:19will provide them with another part of the puzzle.

0:28:23 > 0:28:28The Farooqs are spending their day at Gorge Wildlife Park in the Adelaide Hills.

0:28:28 > 0:28:3240 minutes from the city centre, and set in 14 acres of land,

0:28:32 > 0:28:35it's the ideal spot for families to enjoy a day out.

0:28:38 > 0:28:39After their quick tour,

0:28:39 > 0:28:43it's time to get some hands-on experience with the native Australian wildlife.

0:28:43 > 0:28:45It's just like holding a baby.

0:28:46 > 0:28:49- Like so.- Do you like these leaves as well?

0:28:49 > 0:28:53It's so nice. Little koala bear.

0:28:53 > 0:28:54Say cheese.

0:28:55 > 0:28:56Two koalas.

0:28:57 > 0:28:59This is amazing. Absolutely amazing.

0:28:59 > 0:29:01Is she beautiful?

0:29:01 > 0:29:02Yeah.

0:29:02 > 0:29:05Today's been such a fantastic day,

0:29:05 > 0:29:09I can see my family spending their time enjoying their life here.

0:29:09 > 0:29:12Rehan's all ready to pack his bags.

0:29:12 > 0:29:16If I could move here tomorrow, I would definitely make that move.

0:29:16 > 0:29:20And a taste of the Aussie lifestyle has made an impression on Tanya's mind, too.

0:29:20 > 0:29:23To me, this is what Australia would mean.

0:29:23 > 0:29:25It would mean quality family time.

0:29:25 > 0:29:30Outside, a completely better quality of life for us.

0:29:30 > 0:29:32Despite the fun, family day, though,

0:29:32 > 0:29:36Rehan knows there's still a massive hurdle to overcome for Tanya.

0:29:36 > 0:29:38She's still got some apprehensions.

0:29:38 > 0:29:42Everything that I've seen whilst we've been here in Australia

0:29:43 > 0:29:48is all positive. The only negative is family.

0:29:48 > 0:29:49The only negative is not having them here.

0:29:49 > 0:29:56It's a big ask and it does play on my mind that I'm making her make this decision.

0:29:56 > 0:30:00There's still a lot of questions that I need to battle with

0:30:00 > 0:30:04in my head before I make any decisions.

0:30:06 > 0:30:08I'm still no further forward really.

0:30:08 > 0:30:11It's been a day of mixed emotions for Tanya.

0:30:11 > 0:30:16So, will she choose a lifestyle in Australia or the UK?

0:30:16 > 0:30:19Based on our lovely day out today, our vote goes to...

0:30:25 > 0:30:28- Australia.- Undecided.

0:30:28 > 0:30:29Why are you undecided?

0:30:29 > 0:30:31Everything is going so well.

0:30:31 > 0:30:33Yeah.

0:30:33 > 0:30:40But I still miss home. And I still miss the fact that Mam and Dad aren't here

0:30:40 > 0:30:41to share it with.

0:30:41 > 0:30:45I feel like I'm expecting you to always say Australia.

0:30:45 > 0:30:49I don't want to force you to make that decision.

0:30:49 > 0:30:50I want you to be happy.

0:30:59 > 0:31:02Despite a lovely, family day out,

0:31:02 > 0:31:06Tanya's mind is still on home and she's not fully sold on Australia.

0:31:09 > 0:31:12Rehan's hopeful that spending time with his sister Rohela

0:31:12 > 0:31:13will help show his wife

0:31:13 > 0:31:15that having family close by could make a

0:31:15 > 0:31:18potential move down under much easier.

0:31:20 > 0:31:22As they hit the beach,

0:31:22 > 0:31:26it's an opportunity for Elena and Elijah to spend some quality time with

0:31:26 > 0:31:27their auntie.

0:31:29 > 0:31:32The whole reason why I've come to the other side of the world is to be

0:31:32 > 0:31:35with Rohela.

0:31:35 > 0:31:37To be with her here today has been fantastic.

0:31:42 > 0:31:46Rohela couldn't be happier to be reunited with her twin brother and show

0:31:46 > 0:31:48the family all Australia has to offer,

0:31:48 > 0:31:51if they were to follow in her footsteps.

0:31:51 > 0:31:54It's been a dream come true, it really has.

0:31:54 > 0:31:58Rehan is more convinced than ever that Australia is the place for his family.

0:31:58 > 0:32:02Seeing Rohela again definitely has convinced me this is a good

0:32:02 > 0:32:05move for us. I've just got to convince Tanya

0:32:05 > 0:32:07that this is the right thing for us to do.

0:32:07 > 0:32:11And Tanya can see the benefits of having close family at

0:32:11 > 0:32:13hand on the other side of the world.

0:32:13 > 0:32:17It would make a move, if it was to happen,

0:32:17 > 0:32:21a lot more easy to know we would have Rohela here.

0:32:24 > 0:32:26I've really bonded with both of the kids.

0:32:26 > 0:32:29They're so cute. So, let's hope they stay.

0:32:29 > 0:32:31It's been a positive day all round.

0:32:31 > 0:32:34Rehan knows things will need to keep going in the right direction if

0:32:34 > 0:32:38Tanya's to be persuaded to make the move for good.

0:32:38 > 0:32:40It's definitely make or break this week, for me.

0:32:41 > 0:32:42I just hope it goes well.

0:32:54 > 0:32:57For a life down under to become a reality,

0:32:57 > 0:32:59the figures will have to add up.

0:32:59 > 0:33:03A major factor is getting the right price for their UK home.

0:33:04 > 0:33:08The couple believe their house is worth around £160,000.

0:33:08 > 0:33:11We sent two local estate agents round to give their professional

0:33:11 > 0:33:12valuations.

0:33:15 > 0:33:18A bright, airy, open plan living-dining area.

0:33:20 > 0:33:21Good-sized kitchen.

0:33:21 > 0:33:23Serviceable units.

0:33:23 > 0:33:24Nicely decorated.

0:33:24 > 0:33:26Could do with a little bit of an update.

0:33:26 > 0:33:27- Yeah.- We agreed, aren't we?

0:33:27 > 0:33:31- I hate my kitchen.- Beautifully presented nursery.

0:33:31 > 0:33:34Light and airy, as are the other rooms.

0:33:34 > 0:33:36I wonder if Big Ted there is negotiable in the price?

0:33:38 > 0:33:43In today's market, I would value this house at around £150,000.

0:33:43 > 0:33:48- OK, fine.- For a quick sale, I would market this house at £145,000.

0:33:49 > 0:33:54In today's market, I would value this house at £145,000.

0:33:54 > 0:34:00For a quick sale, I would put it on to the market for £140,000.

0:34:00 > 0:34:03- What do you think?- I'm a bit disappointed on the price of the house.

0:34:03 > 0:34:05I thought it would be a bit more than that.

0:34:06 > 0:34:09With the estimations lower than they'd hoped for,

0:34:09 > 0:34:12the couple now need to calculate if they really can afford to live in

0:34:12 > 0:34:16Australia. While the children are looked after,

0:34:16 > 0:34:19we provide Tanya and Rehan with a cost of living comparison,

0:34:19 > 0:34:21starting with the weekly food bill.

0:34:23 > 0:34:25Go on, then. Let's have a look.

0:34:25 > 0:34:26I'm nervous.

0:34:26 > 0:34:29Butter. £1.70 in the UK.

0:34:29 > 0:34:33- Wow!- £4.58 here in Australia.

0:34:33 > 0:34:35Nappies...

0:34:35 > 0:34:37£8 back home in the UK.

0:34:37 > 0:34:41- Yeah.- £6.31 in Australia.

0:34:41 > 0:34:43That's a good saving. We use a lot of nappies.

0:34:43 > 0:34:50- We do.- That's £36.79 more per week in Australia.

0:34:50 > 0:34:52It's not as bad as I thought it would be.

0:34:52 > 0:34:56The weekly food bill might not break the bank but they still need to

0:34:56 > 0:34:59consider the bigger monthly bills.

0:34:59 > 0:35:00First up, the mortgage.

0:35:00 > 0:35:05Basing calculations on the dream property, it's not a great start.

0:35:05 > 0:35:09The mortgage is £565.46.

0:35:09 > 0:35:13- Yep.- Here in Australia, it would be £1,553.

0:35:13 > 0:35:19So, that's a difference of £987.54 a month.

0:35:19 > 0:35:21That is going to make a big dent in the dream.

0:35:21 > 0:35:23Childcare, that's important to me.

0:35:23 > 0:35:25So, when you go back to work...

0:35:26 > 0:35:29It's £485 in the UK.

0:35:29 > 0:35:32£1,260.

0:35:33 > 0:35:34- That's a lot of money.- A lot.

0:35:34 > 0:35:39That's a staggering £775 more every month in Australia.

0:35:39 > 0:35:43I'm thinking, at the minute, I don't know how this is going to work out.

0:35:43 > 0:35:46It just may not be possible.

0:35:46 > 0:35:50When they include their additional outgoings, things don't look good.

0:35:51 > 0:35:57It's £1,931.45 per month more

0:35:57 > 0:36:01if we lived in Australia.

0:36:01 > 0:36:02That's quite shocking.

0:36:05 > 0:36:08I'm getting nervous about doing the rest of it now.

0:36:08 > 0:36:11Everything now hangs on the couple's earning potential.

0:36:11 > 0:36:16In the UK, Tanya can earn £600 a month as a teaching assistant.

0:36:16 > 0:36:18That would increase significantly down under.

0:36:20 > 0:36:23I'd be looking at earning £2,045 a month.

0:36:23 > 0:36:26That's more than triple her salary.

0:36:26 > 0:36:27That puts a smile on my face.

0:36:29 > 0:36:33Added to Rehan's potential pay increase, the sums confirm that,

0:36:33 > 0:36:35even with their higher outgoings,

0:36:35 > 0:36:38they'd be firmly in the black down under.

0:36:38 > 0:36:45We are better off in Australia per month £1,038.55.

0:36:45 > 0:36:46Wow!

0:36:46 > 0:36:51That's nearly £12,500 more each year and Rehan's delighted.

0:36:51 > 0:36:56This actually justifies my reasons why I've always wanted to come here,

0:36:56 > 0:36:58- Tanya.- I didn't believe you, I have to admit.

0:36:58 > 0:37:02I look at that and I think, I can give you so much more.

0:37:02 > 0:37:03I can give you that here.

0:37:07 > 0:37:09It just makes me happy.

0:37:10 > 0:37:14But, will more money in the bank be enough to swing another vote for

0:37:14 > 0:37:15Australia from Tanya?

0:37:20 > 0:37:22- Australia.- Australia.

0:37:22 > 0:37:27I really didn't expect that we could get everything and still have spare

0:37:27 > 0:37:29money left at the end of the month.

0:37:29 > 0:37:31We can potentially come here, Tanya,

0:37:31 > 0:37:36and live the lifestyle we want and I can give you that dream home.

0:37:36 > 0:37:37The pool...

0:37:45 > 0:37:48After great news on the financial front,

0:37:48 > 0:37:52it looks like Rehan is finally tempting Tanya to consider a move down under,

0:37:52 > 0:37:56but will hearing from friends and family put them right back where

0:37:56 > 0:38:00they started? While the children spend time with a childminder,

0:38:00 > 0:38:03the couple sit down to watch messages from home.

0:38:04 > 0:38:05Hi, my little family.

0:38:05 > 0:38:07Hope you're having a good time in Australia.

0:38:07 > 0:38:08Hi!

0:38:09 > 0:38:11Hi, Tanya. Hi, Rehan.

0:38:11 > 0:38:14Tanya's amazing, she's always been special.

0:38:14 > 0:38:16I've spent a lot of time with her.

0:38:16 > 0:38:21He's always going to be, you know, my little brother and best friend,

0:38:21 > 0:38:22wherever he ends up.

0:38:22 > 0:38:28Well, they are a very loving family, all round.

0:38:28 > 0:38:31I first heard that they were thinking about moving to Australia,

0:38:32 > 0:38:35Rehan mentioned it a few months ago,

0:38:35 > 0:38:38but I know it's been something that he's wanted to do for a long time.

0:38:38 > 0:38:42Recently, I found out,

0:38:42 > 0:38:47and for the next 48 hours I was in a daze.

0:38:48 > 0:38:53It wouldn't sink in that I was losing my only daughter and my grandchildren.

0:38:54 > 0:38:56I'm both excited for them,

0:38:56 > 0:38:59but at the same time I'm going to experience a big loss.

0:38:59 > 0:39:05You start to think of how much Tanya's mum's going to miss her,

0:39:05 > 0:39:08how much her dad's going to miss her,

0:39:08 > 0:39:10and how they're going to miss the grandchildren,

0:39:10 > 0:39:13and it makes you feel quite sad for them.

0:39:14 > 0:39:16I don't want them to go, because I'll miss them,

0:39:16 > 0:39:19but I do want them to go for their future.

0:39:19 > 0:39:24Their future's more important than the little bit life that Dad and I have left.

0:39:28 > 0:39:31Don't worry, your dad's behind you all the way.

0:39:32 > 0:39:36And you two take care, and look after my grandchildren,

0:39:36 > 0:39:39because I love you all very, very much.

0:39:42 > 0:39:47See you, Terry, see you in a couple of months when we get back home.

0:39:47 > 0:39:50- Was that hard, Tanya? - That was awful.

0:39:51 > 0:39:56It just brings it home, seeing them and hearing what they've got to say.

0:39:56 > 0:40:00It's a really hard thing for me to contemplate and think,

0:40:00 > 0:40:01am I doing the right thing here?

0:40:01 > 0:40:04I can't even put into words how much I've missed them.

0:40:06 > 0:40:08We're everything to them.

0:40:08 > 0:40:09- Yeah.- And if we're not there,

0:40:11 > 0:40:12what will they have?

0:40:21 > 0:40:26Seeing messages from friends and family reinforces the emotional cost of

0:40:26 > 0:40:29moving to the other side of the world,

0:40:29 > 0:40:31so with everything they've discovered this week,

0:40:31 > 0:40:35will Rehan and Tanya be on the same page when it comes to making a

0:40:35 > 0:40:38decision about where to call home?

0:40:41 > 0:40:44When the Farooqs left the UK for Australia,

0:40:44 > 0:40:48Rehan had high hopes of making the country his home, and,

0:40:48 > 0:40:50after a shaky start,

0:40:50 > 0:40:54the last seven days have surpassed both his and Tanya's expectations.

0:40:54 > 0:40:56The week started really badly,

0:40:56 > 0:41:01with myself and Elijah getting fever on the plane over here, but then,

0:41:01 > 0:41:04as the week has progressed, it has gotten better.

0:41:04 > 0:41:09The house, the job prospects, I mean everything points to "yes,

0:41:09 > 0:41:11don't be silly, you should move to Australia,

0:41:11 > 0:41:13you should move tomorrow".

0:41:13 > 0:41:17Having spent time with his twin sister after so many years apart,

0:41:17 > 0:41:20the pull to Australia is greater than ever for Rehan.

0:41:20 > 0:41:23Seeing Rohela again, and spending time with her over here,

0:41:23 > 0:41:25was absolutely fantastic.

0:41:25 > 0:41:27I just hope Tanya can see what such

0:41:27 > 0:41:31a brilliant life we can actually have out here.

0:41:31 > 0:41:34But while Rehan would be back with his sister,

0:41:34 > 0:41:38viewing messages from home has been a painful reminder for Tanya,

0:41:38 > 0:41:42that following her husband's dream would mean leaving her family behind.

0:41:42 > 0:41:46It's still a decision that I'm really unsure about.

0:41:46 > 0:41:50I feel really guilty at the thought of living in Australia.

0:41:50 > 0:41:54I don't know how you can say goodbye and know that I wasn't going to see

0:41:54 > 0:41:57them for months, years.

0:41:58 > 0:42:02It's the hugest decision I know that I'll ever make in my life.

0:42:02 > 0:42:07For the Farooq family, it's time to decide where their future lies.

0:42:07 > 0:42:10Will it be in Australia or the UK?

0:42:17 > 0:42:18- Australia!- Australia!

0:42:19 > 0:42:21- Really?- Yeah.

0:42:21 > 0:42:24I didn't think you were going, maybe, go for it.

0:42:24 > 0:42:26After everything, everything that

0:42:27 > 0:42:31we wished and dreamt for, we can have here, with disposable income.

0:42:32 > 0:42:33I'm over the moon.

0:42:33 > 0:42:37We can finally come to Australia and be nearer to Rohela, as well.

0:42:37 > 0:42:39I know I'm going to be so homesick.

0:42:39 > 0:42:42I'll be devastated to say goodbye to Mam and Dad.

0:42:42 > 0:42:46- Yeah.- But we just have to, we have to see them,

0:42:46 > 0:42:50you have to promise that we can see them as often as we can.

0:42:50 > 0:42:52I can envisage our future here.

0:42:52 > 0:42:55And that's what I've wanted you to say for so long,

0:42:55 > 0:42:58I'm just glad that you've made that decision.

0:43:05 > 0:43:09It's been a very busy week for the Farooqs down under.

0:43:09 > 0:43:12Whatever it may bring, we wish Rehan, Tanya,

0:43:12 > 0:43:15Elena and Elijah a very happy future.
