0:45:02 > 0:45:05Any move for a family can throw up big challenges,

0:45:05 > 0:45:09but imagine if that move was to the other side of the world.

0:45:09 > 0:45:12Finding the right house, juggling finances

0:45:12 > 0:45:15and getting a job is all daunting enough,

0:45:15 > 0:45:19but if your partner can't face leaving friends and family behind

0:45:19 > 0:45:22it becomes a huge decision to make.

0:45:24 > 0:45:27Melanie Andrews is desperate to convince husband Rob

0:45:27 > 0:45:30that a life Down Under is better for their future

0:45:30 > 0:45:33and worth giving up family ties in the UK.

0:45:33 > 0:45:36My auntie and uncle, they mean everything to me.

0:45:36 > 0:45:39Leaving them behind is just going to be very hard.

0:45:39 > 0:45:43After a week of shocks...

0:45:40 > 0:45:43I'm not liking this at the moment.

0:45:43 > 0:45:44..surprises...

0:45:44 > 0:45:46- Wow.- Oh, my God!

0:45:46 > 0:45:48I'm crying.

0:45:48 > 0:45:53..and tumbles, they'll have to face a choice that could leave someone broken-hearted.

0:45:53 > 0:45:55I just don't know how...

0:45:55 > 0:45:59how much I'd resent him later on for not going.

0:46:23 > 0:46:27Australia's warm climate and golden beaches have long been a magnet

0:46:27 > 0:46:29for Brits seeking a new life abroad.

0:46:29 > 0:46:33On average, nearly a hundred of us emigrate to Australia every day,

0:46:33 > 0:46:37but the dream doesn't always match up to reality,

0:46:37 > 0:46:41and as many as a third of new arrivals end up heading back home.

0:46:44 > 0:46:47The Andrews have one week to experience the reality

0:46:47 > 0:46:49of life in Australia

0:46:49 > 0:46:53before they decide whether to make the move a permanent one.

0:46:53 > 0:46:57But to make that choice means leaving Folkestone far behind

0:46:57 > 0:47:00and travelling to the other side of the world.

0:47:00 > 0:47:06In fact, it's 9,000 miles, two flights and 22 hours in the air.

0:47:06 > 0:47:11And the long journey has given them time to think about the adventure ahead.

0:47:15 > 0:47:18- I think we're excited about this week, aren't we?- Yeah.

0:47:18 > 0:47:21You know, I'm nervous as well but I'm really looking forward to it.

0:47:21 > 0:47:25You know, I just want to get in there and convince Rob

0:47:25 > 0:47:27that it's going to be good.

0:47:27 > 0:47:30- It's going to be more of a reality check.- Yeah.

0:47:30 > 0:47:32It is going to be a big test, this week.

0:47:32 > 0:47:34This is sort of like the make or break.

0:47:34 > 0:47:37They've set off for a week that could change their lives forever.

0:47:37 > 0:47:42It's a world away from their home in Folkestone, Kent.

0:47:45 > 0:47:4835-year-old Mel and husband Rob, who's 40,

0:47:48 > 0:47:50along with their children -

0:47:50 > 0:47:52Kobi, seven, and little Lexi, three -

0:47:52 > 0:47:55share a happy home. But for Mel, Australia offers the life

0:47:55 > 0:47:57she's dreamt of since she was a teenager.

0:47:57 > 0:48:01I'd originally planned to go travelling for six weeks

0:48:01 > 0:48:03and it fell through, so I couldn't go.

0:48:03 > 0:48:05There was a second time I was going, and it fell through

0:48:05 > 0:48:09and I was so upset and so gutted that I couldn't go.

0:48:09 > 0:48:11And I wanted to take her, to be honest.

0:48:11 > 0:48:14No, so it's third time lucky. And after being there on holiday

0:48:14 > 0:48:16for three weeks, I absolutely loved it,

0:48:16 > 0:48:22and Kobi and Lexi did as well, and they were always outside,

0:48:22 > 0:48:24always playing in the park.

0:48:24 > 0:48:27- I suppose it is a lot like England... - It's mainly the weather.

0:48:27 > 0:48:29..apart from the weather and the lifestyle,

0:48:29 > 0:48:31- just it's so far away.- Yeah.

0:48:31 > 0:48:36For Mel, the holiday confirmed that Oz offered the family lifestyle

0:48:36 > 0:48:39she wanted. But Rob isn't so sure.

0:48:39 > 0:48:42I think deep down he knows it's the best place,

0:48:42 > 0:48:44but it's just hard for him to leave people behind.

0:48:44 > 0:48:47But we've either got to go or that's it, we're not going.

0:48:47 > 0:48:51And, you know, I just don't want to get to that point.

0:48:51 > 0:48:55We've two years left before our visa expires, and once that expires,

0:48:55 > 0:48:58if we haven't gone to Australia permanently,

0:48:58 > 0:49:01then we just wouldn't be able to get that visa again.

0:49:01 > 0:49:03I just want to get out there now.

0:49:03 > 0:49:05I've just got to try and convince Rob.

0:49:05 > 0:49:08For the Andrews to make the move,

0:49:08 > 0:49:12Rob will have to walk away from the family cleaning business

0:49:12 > 0:49:15he runs with his brother and start again in Australia.

0:49:15 > 0:49:16Work does worry me as well.

0:49:16 > 0:49:22Even though I would do anything to do work, moving to Australia

0:49:22 > 0:49:26and starting fresh, not having the network of support you've got here,

0:49:26 > 0:49:30it will be hard, so, yeah, that does worry me as well.

0:49:30 > 0:49:33But there's something even more important than work

0:49:33 > 0:49:35that Rob would have to leave behind -

0:49:35 > 0:49:37his close family and friends.

0:49:39 > 0:49:41My auntie and uncle I'm very close to.

0:49:42 > 0:49:45And they mean everything to me.

0:49:45 > 0:49:48Leaving them behind is just going to be very hard

0:49:48 > 0:49:52cos I'm just going to miss them so much.

0:49:57 > 0:50:00HE CRIES

0:50:00 > 0:50:04I wouldn't want Rob to do anything that he didn't want to do.

0:50:04 > 0:50:07And I certainly don't want him to think that I'm trying

0:50:07 > 0:50:10to emotionally blackmail him into going, and forcing him,

0:50:10 > 0:50:13because I wouldn't, I love him to bits.

0:50:13 > 0:50:16So, you know, at the end of the day, he's my husband

0:50:16 > 0:50:19and if he doesn't want to go then we won't go,

0:50:19 > 0:50:21but I just don't know how...

0:50:21 > 0:50:25how much I'd resent him later on for not going.

0:50:27 > 0:50:30I've always said, "I never say goodbye,"

0:50:30 > 0:50:35I say "I'll see you soon," because I think goodbye means maybe for ever

0:50:35 > 0:50:38and, you know, I don't want it to be like that.

0:50:38 > 0:50:41With so much at stake, everyone's emotions are running high.

0:50:41 > 0:50:45Ahead of them is a huge decision,

0:50:45 > 0:50:48perhaps the toughest they will ever have to make.

0:50:48 > 0:50:54One thing that could help Rob make the move is having familiar faces close by.

0:50:54 > 0:50:57With relatives in the area, the family are keen to visit Perth

0:50:57 > 0:51:00in Western Australia.

0:51:00 > 0:51:04For the next week, home will be in the popular beachside suburb

0:51:04 > 0:51:08of Waterman's Bay, just a short drive from the airport.

0:51:08 > 0:51:12This three-bedroom property is only a couple of minutes' walk

0:51:12 > 0:51:16to the beach and has plenty of space for all the family.

0:51:19 > 0:51:20Oh...

0:51:20 > 0:51:21Look.

0:51:24 > 0:51:26I think the kids are over their jetlag now.

0:51:26 > 0:51:28I know. They won't sleep tonight.

0:51:28 > 0:51:30No, it'll be a nightmare tonight.

0:51:30 > 0:51:33The kids look to have settled in nicely,

0:51:33 > 0:51:37but for Mel and Rob, thoughts are already on the week ahead.

0:51:37 > 0:51:39What I'd really like to get out of this week

0:51:39 > 0:51:42would be really for Rob to really like it, and to think,

0:51:42 > 0:51:43"I could see myself living here."

0:51:43 > 0:51:46You know, it could either go one way or the other.

0:51:46 > 0:51:49I think it's going to open our eyes a lot more

0:51:49 > 0:51:51to what we thought it was going to be like.

0:51:51 > 0:51:55Just as soon as you get here, you've just got that vibe about the place

0:51:55 > 0:51:58that you could just see yourself living here.

0:51:58 > 0:52:01So, yeah, first impression's very good.

0:52:08 > 0:52:12Back in the UK, the Andrews live in a three-bedroom ex-council house

0:52:12 > 0:52:13in Folkstone.

0:52:13 > 0:52:16Over the years they've upgraded their home

0:52:16 > 0:52:20and believe it's worth around £160,000.

0:52:20 > 0:52:24In all, they could have a budget of £180,000

0:52:24 > 0:52:26to spend on an Australian house.

0:52:27 > 0:52:30But, if Rob is going to be persuaded to move,

0:52:30 > 0:52:34his new home will need to have a couple of important features.

0:52:34 > 0:52:36It would be at least a four-bedroom detached.

0:52:36 > 0:52:40Whether it's got a pool or not, it's got to have a home cinema.

0:52:40 > 0:52:43That's always been something I've always wanted.

0:52:43 > 0:52:47Mel does want a nice house, but as long as it's big enough to hopefully

0:52:47 > 0:52:52accommodate loads of visits from friends and family,

0:52:52 > 0:52:54then that'd do me fine.

0:52:54 > 0:52:59Today, we'll give the Andrews a taste of Perth's housing market.

0:52:59 > 0:53:01We'll show them three options

0:53:01 > 0:53:05based upon what they want from their ideal home,

0:53:05 > 0:53:07what they can actually afford,

0:53:07 > 0:53:11and the real cost of property Down Under.

0:53:11 > 0:53:13After seeing for themselves what's on offer,

0:53:13 > 0:53:18we'll reveal to the Andrews just how much each house costs.

0:53:18 > 0:53:21We're starting the search in the suburb of Butler,

0:53:21 > 0:53:22on the outskirts of the city.

0:53:22 > 0:53:26This three-bedroom property is a typical, modern, Aussie-style home,

0:53:26 > 0:53:28which should appeal to Mel.

0:53:28 > 0:53:30But what will they make of it?

0:53:32 > 0:53:34Nice size front room.

0:53:34 > 0:53:36Not a bad size.

0:53:39 > 0:53:42You could have a dining room table here, couldn't you?

0:53:42 > 0:53:44I don't know. I'm not liking this at the moment.

0:53:44 > 0:53:46I don't mind it.

0:53:46 > 0:53:47No.

0:53:47 > 0:53:49Not a bad size kitchen, though.

0:53:49 > 0:53:54But when you look from the kitchen down there, it's not open-plan.

0:53:54 > 0:53:58Rob's not impressed, and with only three bedrooms,

0:53:58 > 0:54:00his wish list is looking tricky.

0:54:00 > 0:54:03Walk-in wardrobe. And an en-suite.

0:54:03 > 0:54:05- No, this isn't bad.- Yeah.

0:54:05 > 0:54:08- But then you don't live in your bedrooms.- No, I know.

0:54:08 > 0:54:12- Not appealing to me much, I'm afraid. - No.

0:54:12 > 0:54:15There's only the outside space left to try and tempt Rob.

0:54:15 > 0:54:19- This is quite nice cos it's... - Yeah.- It's like a blank canvass.

0:54:19 > 0:54:23- But we'd have to spend a lot to get it how we would want it.- Yeah.

0:54:23 > 0:54:25And I don't think it'd be worth it.

0:54:25 > 0:54:28This house has left Rob cold.

0:54:28 > 0:54:30But they have no idea of its price,

0:54:30 > 0:54:34so can they afford it with their £180,000 budget?

0:54:35 > 0:54:37Go on, then.

0:54:45 > 0:54:47Oh!

0:54:47 > 0:54:48230,000?

0:54:48 > 0:54:50230,000?

0:54:50 > 0:54:54347,000.

0:54:54 > 0:54:57Don't you think the properties are more expensive?

0:54:57 > 0:54:59- Than what we thought?- Yeah.- Mm.

0:54:59 > 0:55:04- If I had a choice to buy this, I wouldn't.- No.

0:55:04 > 0:55:05I just don't like it.

0:55:05 > 0:55:07Yeah.

0:55:07 > 0:55:08That's all.

0:55:08 > 0:55:12At £50,000 over budget, it's a big setback for Mel.

0:55:12 > 0:55:14It's a no-no, this one.

0:55:14 > 0:55:15Yeah.

0:55:15 > 0:55:18For me anyway.

0:55:18 > 0:55:20Well, let's just hope you like the next one, then.

0:55:20 > 0:55:22HE LAUGHS

0:55:22 > 0:55:25At home the Andrews live very close to their work and social life,

0:55:25 > 0:55:28but Perth is expanding rapidly

0:55:28 > 0:55:31and the affordable housing is out in the suburbs,

0:55:31 > 0:55:34meaning anything up to a two-hour daily commute.

0:55:34 > 0:55:37But, by moving further from the city,

0:55:37 > 0:55:39they should get more for their money.

0:55:39 > 0:55:42The average house prices in Yanchep are still high,

0:55:42 > 0:55:46so a realistic option could be a cheaper new build.

0:55:46 > 0:55:48As the development is still being built,

0:55:48 > 0:55:52they'll view a three-bedroom show home to give them an idea

0:55:52 > 0:55:56of what a typical finished house will look like.

0:55:58 > 0:56:00This is nice.

0:56:01 > 0:56:04Nice big walk-in wardrobe.

0:56:04 > 0:56:06Look at the size of that.

0:56:07 > 0:56:09God, look at the size of this.

0:56:11 > 0:56:14God, this is lovely.

0:56:14 > 0:56:18As soon as you walk in it's got that wow factor.

0:56:18 > 0:56:20It's a much better start.

0:56:20 > 0:56:24And Rob's in for a pleasant surprise.

0:56:24 > 0:56:27Cinema room. Ticks all the boxes so far.

0:56:27 > 0:56:31Oh, definitely. Without a doubt.

0:56:33 > 0:56:36Bedroom. Nice double bedroom.

0:56:36 > 0:56:40Ideal for Kobi. I like the big windows as well.

0:56:40 > 0:56:43This is nice. Oh, Lexi would love this room.

0:56:43 > 0:56:45It's lovely, isn't it?

0:56:45 > 0:56:47- They're all nice sized rooms.- Yeah.

0:56:47 > 0:56:51We'd best both get working so I can have this house.

0:56:51 > 0:56:53It's lovely, isn't it?

0:56:53 > 0:56:55Yeah.

0:56:55 > 0:56:57With its stylish interiors and open spaces,

0:56:57 > 0:56:59this house feels ideal.

0:57:00 > 0:57:04And a large garden complete with barbecue seems tailor-made

0:57:04 > 0:57:07for Mel's dream of an outdoor lifestyle...

0:57:07 > 0:57:10assuming the sun comes out!

0:57:10 > 0:57:13All that remains is to find out the price.

0:57:13 > 0:57:17But, after discovering the first house was way over budget,

0:57:17 > 0:57:20could this house offer so much more for less?

0:57:22 > 0:57:24- Wow!- Oh, my God!

0:57:24 > 0:57:27£200,000?

0:57:27 > 0:57:28300,000.

0:57:28 > 0:57:31Nice. That's all I can say.

0:57:31 > 0:57:33When can we move in?

0:57:33 > 0:57:38You wouldn't get something like this back in England for 200,000.

0:57:38 > 0:57:39No, you wouldn't.

0:57:39 > 0:57:45If there's a chance that we could afford one of these properties,

0:57:45 > 0:57:49you know, it does sort of put you up the ladder a bit more.

0:57:49 > 0:57:51It's an ideal result for Mel,

0:57:51 > 0:57:55and even Rob looks as if he's ready to grab a tinnie and the remote.

0:57:55 > 0:57:58But before they can make a final decision,

0:57:58 > 0:58:00there's one more to see.

0:58:00 > 0:58:02Could it seal the deal for the Andrews?

0:58:02 > 0:58:07The final house is in the coastal suburb of Banksia Grove.

0:58:07 > 0:58:10A 30-minute drive to Perth makes it the closest of all three properties

0:58:10 > 0:58:12to the city.

0:58:12 > 0:58:14Like so much of what's on offer in Perth,

0:58:14 > 0:58:16it's another new-build house.

0:58:16 > 0:58:19Again, this house is under construction,

0:58:19 > 0:58:21so Mel and Rob will view a show home.

0:58:21 > 0:58:25With four bedrooms, a cinema room and open-plan design,

0:58:25 > 0:58:29on paper this house sounds a perfect fit.

0:58:30 > 0:58:31Nice.

0:58:31 > 0:58:33- Nice, isn't it?- Yeah.

0:58:33 > 0:58:35It's a big hallway.

0:58:35 > 0:58:37Wow.

0:58:37 > 0:58:40Walk-in wardrobe, nice.

0:58:40 > 0:58:41En-suite.

0:58:41 > 0:58:42Nice shower.

0:58:42 > 0:58:45It's another good start,

0:58:45 > 0:58:47but will Rob enjoy the cinema room?

0:58:48 > 0:58:50Oh, this is nice.

0:58:50 > 0:58:51The cinema room.

0:58:51 > 0:58:52Yeah.

0:58:52 > 0:58:54I could see myself sitting in here.

0:58:54 > 0:58:57- Kobi would love it.- Yeah.

0:58:57 > 0:58:59That kitchen.

0:58:59 > 0:59:00It's lovely.

0:59:00 > 0:59:02It's an ideal size for us four.

0:59:02 > 0:59:04Oh, yeah, definitely. I love it so far.

0:59:04 > 0:59:06Yeah, I do. Move in tomorrow.

0:59:06 > 0:59:08HE LAUGHS

0:59:09 > 0:59:14It looks as if property three has all the room they could want.

0:59:14 > 0:59:16So that's four bedrooms.

0:59:16 > 0:59:18Weren't expecting...

0:59:18 > 0:59:20No, I thought it'd only be a three-bedroom.

0:59:20 > 0:59:21- I'm quite surprised.- Yeah.

0:59:21 > 0:59:25Rob is won over by this house

0:59:25 > 0:59:27and there's just the outside space to see.

0:59:27 > 0:59:30With it's stunning garden, complete with beer pumps,

0:59:30 > 0:59:33it seems to have everything they're looking for.

0:59:33 > 0:59:34It's lovely.

0:59:34 > 0:59:37- Yeah, very nice.- Perfect.

0:59:37 > 0:59:40But now they've seen the dream home can they afford it?

0:59:40 > 0:59:44I would say, looking at this...

0:59:44 > 0:59:49I'd say between 250 and 270.

0:59:49 > 0:59:50Do you reckon?

0:59:50 > 0:59:52Do you want to do the honours?

0:59:56 > 0:59:57Mm...

0:59:57 > 0:59:59I wasn't far off, then.

0:59:59 > 1:00:02£270,000. So we wouldn't really be able to afford it.

1:00:02 > 1:00:08No. I was expecting maybe a little bit cheaper than 405,000.

1:00:08 > 1:00:12If we were both working full-time in Australia

1:00:12 > 1:00:14then I don't see why we wouldn't be able to afford...

1:00:14 > 1:00:17- Something like this. - Something like this.

1:00:17 > 1:00:20- Now I've seen it, I want it. - SHE LAUGHS I know that, I know that.

1:00:20 > 1:00:22If we had a house like this

1:00:22 > 1:00:25it'd definitely encourage you to move out here, wouldn't it?

1:00:25 > 1:00:28Without a shadow of a doubt.

1:00:28 > 1:00:30Yeah.

1:00:30 > 1:00:34They've found a dream house that would get Rob to Australia

1:00:34 > 1:00:36but it's way over budget.

1:00:36 > 1:00:40It's been an eye-opening day for the Andrews.

1:00:40 > 1:00:43The first house offered Mel the space and location she wanted,

1:00:43 > 1:00:48but Rob's reaction and a big price tag left the Andrews feeling cold.

1:00:48 > 1:00:50The second house spiced things up

1:00:50 > 1:00:53with its stunning interiors and cinema room.

1:00:53 > 1:00:56And, costing less than they expected,

1:00:56 > 1:01:00it showed Rob an upside to property Down Under.

1:01:00 > 1:01:03Finally, the third house's open-plan living and decor to die for

1:01:03 > 1:01:07offered both Rob and Mel a genuine dream house...

1:01:07 > 1:01:09..even if the cost was a big ask.

1:01:10 > 1:01:13But, while Mel could be happy in any of them,

1:01:13 > 1:01:16have these properties done enough to convince Rob

1:01:16 > 1:01:19that the pain of leaving home could be worth it?

1:01:22 > 1:01:26Based on the properties that we've seen today,

1:01:26 > 1:01:31the houses in Australia versus England,

1:01:31 > 1:01:34we have decided to vote for...

1:01:39 > 1:01:42BOTH: Australia.

1:01:47 > 1:01:52- For the money you spend, you get a lot more for your money.- Yeah.

1:01:52 > 1:01:56And, like, the three properties we saw, two of them

1:01:56 > 1:02:01were just...really nice and just what we were looking for.

1:02:01 > 1:02:05- Round One, Australia. - Get ready for Round Two.- Yep.

1:02:07 > 1:02:10What do you think?

1:02:10 > 1:02:13Nice, nice.

1:02:20 > 1:02:24Rob's positive response is music to Mel's ears.

1:02:24 > 1:02:27But with both the properties they liked over budget,

1:02:27 > 1:02:29the move will be impossible

1:02:29 > 1:02:32unless Australia can't offer good work opportunities

1:02:32 > 1:02:36for both Mel AND Rob, with salaries to match.

1:02:36 > 1:02:41Back in the UK, Rob works at the cleaning firm started by his parents.

1:02:41 > 1:02:44It's been in the family for more than 25 years,

1:02:44 > 1:02:47so not only would he be leaving a business

1:02:47 > 1:02:50but also his brother, who runs the company with him.

1:02:52 > 1:02:57Because I work with my brother every day

1:02:57 > 1:03:01and we go out on our bikes once a week,

1:03:01 > 1:03:05yeah, it has... I feel that we've got a really good relationship now

1:03:05 > 1:03:09and we're a lot closer than what we used to be.

1:03:09 > 1:03:14So that will be very hard to not have any more.

1:03:14 > 1:03:17Moving the company Down Under would be impossible,

1:03:17 > 1:03:21so he's considering a return to a trade he learned years ago.

1:03:21 > 1:03:24I did use to do painting and decorating many years ago.

1:03:24 > 1:03:28It's something I enjoy so whether there was a way

1:03:28 > 1:03:31of getting into that field of work...

1:03:31 > 1:03:34Yeah, I would like to definitely find out more about that as well.

1:03:34 > 1:03:38But while Rob's work is vital to the family finances

1:03:38 > 1:03:41it's Mel who holds the key to making the move,

1:03:41 > 1:03:45thanks to the hairdressing qualifications which earned their visa.

1:03:45 > 1:03:48However, having stopped work to have a family,

1:03:48 > 1:03:52she has a huge confidence issue about returning to work full-time.

1:03:52 > 1:03:56My main reservations about going back into hairdressing, I suppose,

1:03:56 > 1:04:01is am I still as good as I think I am, or that I was?

1:04:01 > 1:04:04Because I haven't worked in the salon for so long

1:04:04 > 1:04:07and obviously techniques have changed.

1:04:07 > 1:04:09I suppose that's my main reservation,

1:04:09 > 1:04:13am I still going to be as good as I need to be?

1:04:13 > 1:04:16So we've arranged for her to see if she can still cut it

1:04:16 > 1:04:21at a modern salon in Subiaco, a trendy inner-city suburb.

1:04:21 > 1:04:26There's a huge amount resting on her ability to impress.

1:04:26 > 1:04:30I think the pressure is on me to try and find work first, rather than Rob.

1:04:30 > 1:04:34Just mainly because obviously I've got that skill and hopefully

1:04:34 > 1:04:36that hairdressers are still in demand,

1:04:36 > 1:04:38that I could maybe get a job straight away

1:04:38 > 1:04:40at least to get the money rolling in when we first arrive.

1:04:40 > 1:04:44- Hiya.- Hiya, how are you?

1:04:44 > 1:04:47- Manager Sharlene is on hand for advice.- Come on through.

1:04:47 > 1:04:50With introductions out the way, it's straight to work.

1:04:50 > 1:04:54So if you can shampoo, blow-dry and style it

1:04:54 > 1:04:57so I can just have a look at your blow-drying skill.

1:04:57 > 1:05:01- Yeah, OK.- So let's get started with that.- Lovely.- OK, Laura?

1:05:01 > 1:05:03How's that water for you, Laura?

1:05:03 > 1:05:10Although it's vital Mel finds work, she knows if Rob's to be convinced about living in Australia

1:05:10 > 1:05:14he needs to feel happy in a new career.

1:05:14 > 1:05:17Even though I've done the work before, it's still... You know,

1:05:17 > 1:05:21finding out if they do things different

1:05:21 > 1:05:22to what we do back in the UK.

1:05:22 > 1:05:27A lot rests on today. If Rob can find work that pays a decent wage

1:05:27 > 1:05:31Mel will be another step closer to her dream.

1:05:31 > 1:05:34The work is the most important thing in this move.

1:05:34 > 1:05:39If we can both get a job that we both enjoy and, you know,

1:05:39 > 1:05:44the money's there, then we can start to set our target

1:05:44 > 1:05:49in achieving the house that we want and the area that we want to live in.

1:05:50 > 1:05:54He's spending the day painting and decorating on a house in Scarborough,

1:05:54 > 1:05:58a suburb six miles from the city with lots of ongoing development.

1:05:58 > 1:06:02But first there's a chance to meet ex-pat Bernie, who runs his own

1:06:02 > 1:06:04painting and decorating business.

1:06:04 > 1:06:08- All right, mate.- How are you?- Rob. - Rob, Bernie. - How you doing?- Yeah, good, mate.

1:06:08 > 1:06:12Keen to see what he can do, Bernie sets Rob to work.

1:06:12 > 1:06:15But is he really prepared to trade working in the sunshine

1:06:15 > 1:06:18for everything he has in the UK?

1:06:18 > 1:06:21- All right, Robbie, how are we looking?- Yeah, good, mate.

1:06:21 > 1:06:24- Beautiful.- You can't beat doing this in this weather.- Yeah.

1:06:26 > 1:06:31I've still got concerns about leaving my family behind

1:06:31 > 1:06:34but I think if they saw what I could actually achieve here,

1:06:34 > 1:06:40hopefully they can come round to the way that we're thinking

1:06:40 > 1:06:45and they'll be pleased with the decision that we may make.

1:06:45 > 1:06:48Back at the salon, Mel is still hard at work

1:06:48 > 1:06:51but her inexperience may be showing.

1:06:51 > 1:06:54- Lovely.- Just yell out if you get stuck, all right?- OK, thank you.

1:06:59 > 1:07:04- OK, you're going well.- It's just getting used to doing it all again.

1:07:04 > 1:07:07Yeah. If you're thinking about coming out here

1:07:07 > 1:07:12in another six months, you could do a few courses in London or go

1:07:12 > 1:07:16to a few salons and maybe get some part-time work just so you're not

1:07:16 > 1:07:19so rusty when you come to Australia,

1:07:19 > 1:07:23because our expectations are quite high.

1:07:23 > 1:07:24- Yeah, sure.- Yeah.

1:07:24 > 1:07:28It's bad news. If Mel wants to make the grade in Oz,

1:07:28 > 1:07:32she may have to retrain. And at about 500 a course

1:07:32 > 1:07:34she could be looking at a couple of thousand dollars

1:07:34 > 1:07:37just to get back up to speed.

1:07:37 > 1:07:40Could her salary compensate for this?

1:07:40 > 1:07:44If I was employed as a junior stylist, what are the wages, sort of?

1:07:44 > 1:07:48It would be around about between 19 to 21.

1:07:48 > 1:07:51- OK.- Salary may be negotiable, but one thing isn't.

1:07:51 > 1:07:55There's no negotiation with Saturdays,

1:07:55 > 1:07:58so if you wanted Saturdays off I wouldn't be interested.

1:07:58 > 1:08:03Hairdressing could offer Mel upwards of £28,000,

1:08:03 > 1:08:07£10,000 more than she could earn in the UK.

1:08:07 > 1:08:11But it would come at a cost of retraining and having less time with the family.

1:08:11 > 1:08:13The fact that I'd have to retrain,

1:08:13 > 1:08:16it hasn't put me off hairdressing because I think, in a way,

1:08:16 > 1:08:21it's something I would like to do to refresh my memory as well for, like, colouring and cutting

1:08:21 > 1:08:26and to be able to do more up-to-date techniques and things like that.

1:08:27 > 1:08:31It's a mixed result for Mel, so everything could now hinge on Rob.

1:08:31 > 1:08:32That's it.

1:08:32 > 1:08:36But before he can decide he needs to get some answers from Bernie.

1:08:36 > 1:08:42What's the wage that, you know, a decent painter could earn here?

1:08:42 > 1:08:45- Average, 30 an hour. - That's good.- Yeah.

1:08:45 > 1:08:51So if you were to work a Saturday, you're on about 75,000 a year.

1:08:51 > 1:08:54- Wow, that's good. - Yeah, it's a good life.- Yeah.

1:08:54 > 1:08:58So work-wise in Perth, is there quite a bit of work here?

1:08:58 > 1:09:00Yeah, there's plenty of work in Australia.

1:09:00 > 1:09:04- I've never been out of work myself. - And how long have you been here for?

1:09:04 > 1:09:07- 13 years.- 13 years? - Yep, you can't go wrong.

1:09:07 > 1:09:10- Just look me up when you get here. - Oh, yeah, definitely.

1:09:10 > 1:09:14- Maybe sooner rather than later, then. - Yeah. I'll give you a try.

1:09:14 > 1:09:17It's an ideal result for Rob, who could earn

1:09:17 > 1:09:22more than £50,000 a year, doubling his current UK salary.

1:09:22 > 1:09:24And there's more good news.

1:09:24 > 1:09:29The best thing I've found out about today was the hours.

1:09:29 > 1:09:34Half-seven in the morning, finishing at three, half-three in the afternoon,

1:09:34 > 1:09:37so at least you've got time in the evenings

1:09:37 > 1:09:40to actually see the kids from school,

1:09:40 > 1:09:43pop down the beach, it's just amazing.

1:09:43 > 1:09:47So overall, really, really pleased.

1:09:49 > 1:09:54But is all this promise really worth giving up the family business for?

1:09:54 > 1:09:58It's a huge decision and the future of the move lies in Rob's hands.

1:09:59 > 1:10:02- How'd you get on?- Yeah, all right. You?- Yeah. Had a good day?

1:10:02 > 1:10:07- Yeah. You?- Yeah.- How'd you get on, all right?- Yeah, all right.- Cool.

1:10:07 > 1:10:10Based on our work experience today

1:10:10 > 1:10:16and the working hours and the wages we can earn, we are voting for...

1:10:19 > 1:10:21Australia.

1:10:26 > 1:10:27Australia.

1:10:28 > 1:10:33- Ooh!- Shocked?- I am, actually. Oh, I'm crying.

1:10:35 > 1:10:36Hey.

1:10:36 > 1:10:40I think I was just so worried that you wouldn't...

1:10:40 > 1:10:44they'd say you need to be qualified or you wouldn't be able to earn the money.

1:10:44 > 1:10:46I thought, "Oh, God, he'll choose England."

1:10:46 > 1:10:51That'd be it, that'd be our dream over. So I'm pleased.

1:10:59 > 1:11:03With good opportunities for both Mel and Rob to find work,

1:11:03 > 1:11:07Mel's dream seems to be inching closer to reality.

1:11:07 > 1:11:11But it comes at a big cost.

1:11:11 > 1:11:15Long commutes and more hours away from Kobi and Lexi.

1:11:15 > 1:11:18A lot hinges on how much they can raise

1:11:18 > 1:11:20from the sale of their home in the UK.

1:11:20 > 1:11:23It's time for a reality check.

1:11:23 > 1:11:26We've sent two local estate agents round to the Andrews house

1:11:26 > 1:11:31in Kent to get an estimate of what it may fetch on the current market.

1:11:31 > 1:11:37They'll need to raise between £130,000 and £160,000 to get their dream home Down Under.

1:11:37 > 1:11:42So this is a very nicely attractive, stylish room, and obviously

1:11:42 > 1:11:45the main attribute is its view over the town to the front

1:11:45 > 1:11:46as far as the Channel.

1:11:46 > 1:11:50Very nicely refitted galley-style kitchen.

1:11:50 > 1:11:54It just needs a bit of final finishing, possibly the kickboards, because you can see

1:11:54 > 1:11:58- the edge of the tiling. - Oh, look. No!

1:12:01 > 1:12:04Here we are in the back garden, all low-maintenance.

1:12:04 > 1:12:06Paved at the bottom and then steps up to

1:12:06 > 1:12:10a rear pedestrian access, nicely done.

1:12:12 > 1:12:15The bedroom here, the main bedroom which is double size.

1:12:15 > 1:12:18Perhaps could do with a bit more space towards the end of the bed.

1:12:18 > 1:12:20Good size second bedroom.

1:12:20 > 1:12:23You've got plenty of built-in storage, which certainly helps.

1:12:23 > 1:12:25You've got storage so it's a good-sized room.

1:12:25 > 1:12:28Looks like a newly fitted bathroom suite,

1:12:28 > 1:12:30nice and neutrally decorated, nice tiles

1:12:30 > 1:12:35so it's a good size especially for a family bathroom so it's a good room.

1:12:36 > 1:12:42Despite all the plus points, it is a slightly limited-value location.

1:12:42 > 1:12:44It is more of an up-and-coming area

1:12:44 > 1:12:48but it does still have a little bit of a stigma of being a council area.

1:12:48 > 1:12:51- Thanks for that(!)- Yeah!

1:12:51 > 1:12:57For that reason I value it at 135,000.

1:12:57 > 1:13:00It appeals to first-time buyers and young families.

1:13:00 > 1:13:03The valuation that I would put on the property would be somewhere

1:13:03 > 1:13:05between £135,000 and £140,000.

1:13:07 > 1:13:14- I was a bit worried because, with the downturn of the UK market, that could've been so much worse.- Yeah.

1:13:14 > 1:13:18- At least we know we still have equity in it, even though we wouldn't sell it at that.- No.

1:13:18 > 1:13:22- But we could rent it out. - So overall...- Not a bad result.- No.

1:13:22 > 1:13:26- I'm really pleased with that. - Yeah, it's good.

1:13:26 > 1:13:30So the figures are slightly lower than they'd hoped for.

1:13:30 > 1:13:32But renting could be an option.

1:13:32 > 1:13:35Everything now hangs on the cost of living.

1:13:35 > 1:13:38We've prepared a breakdown of the family's everyday expenses,

1:13:38 > 1:13:41and based on their calculations they'll find out

1:13:41 > 1:13:44if they can afford to live Down Under.

1:13:44 > 1:13:50Now, shopping list. £9.81. Oh, my God. Is that right?

1:13:51 > 1:13:56The weekly shop in Australia is much more expensive than in the UK.

1:13:56 > 1:13:58Can their salaries make up the difference?

1:13:59 > 1:14:07So in the UK our total income per year is 28,120.

1:14:07 > 1:14:10So you, full-time in Australia, me full-time,

1:14:10 > 1:14:15we would be £3,950 a month better off.

1:14:15 > 1:14:19But that's as a junior stylist so that would go up.

1:14:19 > 1:14:24So obviously we've got to take into consideration the mortgage

1:14:24 > 1:14:26so, even with that taken off,

1:14:26 > 1:14:30you're still looking roughly at about £2,000 better off.

1:14:30 > 1:14:35- A month. - You know, it's there for the taking.

1:14:35 > 1:14:41On paper it looks like the Andrews could be as much as £2,000 a month better off in Australia.

1:14:43 > 1:14:46But Mel will have to work full-time and Saturdays.

1:14:46 > 1:14:49Is she prepared to make that sacrifice?

1:14:49 > 1:14:54Based on the figures that we've seen today for the reality check

1:14:54 > 1:14:58and the wages we could potentially earn in Australia

1:14:58 > 1:15:02and how they compare to the UK, we have decided to vote for...

1:15:08 > 1:15:10BOTH: Australia.

1:15:17 > 1:15:21With what you can earn and the rewards you get,

1:15:21 > 1:15:24- outweighs the UK.- Definitely.- By far.

1:15:24 > 1:15:28So it was a no-brainer, Australia.

1:15:28 > 1:15:35- Definitely.- So we could actually have a really nice lifestyle

1:15:35 > 1:15:39- as a family.- Good.- Pleased?

1:15:48 > 1:15:52With Australia offering a chance of a big boost to their finances,

1:15:52 > 1:15:56the Andrews seem closer than ever to Oz.

1:15:56 > 1:15:59And if Perth can give them the lifestyle they're after,

1:15:59 > 1:16:02it may be the final step in convincing Rob

1:16:02 > 1:16:06that the pain of leaving home and family behind is worth it.

1:16:08 > 1:16:11To give a Rob a taste of what Perth has to offer

1:16:11 > 1:16:16the Andrews set off for a typically Aussie family day out.

1:16:16 > 1:16:20Western Australia's climate offers an all-year round outdoor lifestyle,

1:16:20 > 1:16:23ideal for a young family like the Andrews.

1:16:23 > 1:16:24And if the beach isn't your thing

1:16:24 > 1:16:28then there are some stunning national parks to explore.

1:16:28 > 1:16:32Today the Andrews are heading to John Forrest Park,

1:16:32 > 1:16:34about 16 miles from Perth.

1:16:34 > 1:16:37With plenty of walking trails and lots of wildlife

1:16:37 > 1:16:40it should be the ideal location for a family day.

1:16:40 > 1:16:45- This area's lovely. - The park we've come to is... The views are just stunning.

1:16:45 > 1:16:49You can't believe that a day like today is winter.

1:16:49 > 1:16:53A winter's day like this, it's just...just beautiful.

1:16:53 > 1:16:57This is just how I imagined life in Australia to be.

1:16:57 > 1:16:58Being able to be outdoors,

1:16:58 > 1:17:02taking the kids to places all together as a family.

1:17:02 > 1:17:04You know, the kids are going to benefit from it, big time.

1:17:06 > 1:17:08I still have my concerns.

1:17:08 > 1:17:12The only reason being is the simple fact of leaving friends and family.

1:17:12 > 1:17:15That's the biggest sacrifice we've got to make

1:17:15 > 1:17:17and if that wasn't the case

1:17:17 > 1:17:22I honestly would just go and pack my bags and come here tomorrow.

1:17:22 > 1:17:25What might ease his worries is a chance to indulge

1:17:25 > 1:17:27a hobby from back home.

1:17:27 > 1:17:30Before he sets off, Kobi has some words of advice for his dad.

1:17:30 > 1:17:33- Don't fall off.- I won't!

1:17:33 > 1:17:35- G'day, Rob. - Hello, mate, how you doing?

1:17:35 > 1:17:37Joining Rob is Greg from the Perth Mountain Bike Club.

1:17:50 > 1:17:53Oops, Rob didn't listen to Kobi!

1:17:53 > 1:17:58I took a bit of a tumble but that's part and parcel of mountain biking.

1:17:58 > 1:18:02Now I'm fine, just my pride hurts more than anything!

1:18:03 > 1:18:07If I'm here, it's just a shame my brother won't be here to do it,

1:18:07 > 1:18:11which is just the sad bit, cos it's me and him

1:18:11 > 1:18:13who always go out and do stuff like that,

1:18:13 > 1:18:16but no, something like this, it's just brilliant.

1:18:16 > 1:18:20The reality of what he'd be leaving is becoming clear to Rob

1:18:20 > 1:18:24but for Mel it's just as clear Australia offers all she's ever wanted.

1:18:24 > 1:18:29I don't know why but I've never felt really settled anywhere.

1:18:29 > 1:18:32I don't know, it's ready hard to explain, but here...

1:18:32 > 1:18:34I could honestly say I could call this my home.

1:18:34 > 1:18:38If Rob didn't vote Australia, obviously I'd be upset

1:18:38 > 1:18:42because I think this week, you know, it has had a positive effect.

1:18:42 > 1:18:43But if he chooses the UK,

1:18:43 > 1:18:47I guess I'll just have to try to work on him a bit more.

1:18:47 > 1:18:49And I will!

1:18:49 > 1:18:52It's been a day to remember but can a taste of the Australian lifestyle

1:18:52 > 1:18:56offer enough to win everyone's vote?

1:18:56 > 1:19:00On today's outing

1:19:00 > 1:19:04and based on the day we had,

1:19:04 > 1:19:06we are going to vote for...

1:19:17 > 1:19:20Australia.

1:19:20 > 1:19:22Australia.

1:19:22 > 1:19:25- Undecided.- Really?

1:19:25 > 1:19:30When I did the mountain biking, which I really enjoyed,

1:19:30 > 1:19:36erm, it just brought home with, like, you know, my brother.

1:19:36 > 1:19:41- I knew it would. I knew it would. - That is the only thing.

1:19:41 > 1:19:45Like, it was my brother that got me into it and I just felt a bit lonely,

1:19:45 > 1:19:46- that was all.- Yeah.

1:19:46 > 1:19:50So I've still got a bit of convincing then, to get you out here?

1:19:50 > 1:19:53What should have been the most enjoyable day of the trip

1:19:53 > 1:19:55left Rob back where he started,

1:19:55 > 1:19:59and with time running out Mel knows just what's at stake.

1:19:59 > 1:20:03This is my last chance, this is my third time to try

1:20:03 > 1:20:07and get out to Australia so it's... You know, it's...

1:20:07 > 1:20:10This is it, I haven't got any other chances

1:20:10 > 1:20:13so I'm just hoping that I can convince Rob

1:20:13 > 1:20:15that this would be the best place

1:20:15 > 1:20:18to bring up the kids and for all of us as a family.

1:20:18 > 1:20:22To be able to settle down and just enjoy our lifestyle.

1:20:33 > 1:20:36Leaving loved ones is always the toughest challenge

1:20:36 > 1:20:40when emigrating to the other side of the world.

1:20:40 > 1:20:45Rob's reminder of how much he would miss family is a huge setback.

1:20:45 > 1:20:50Seeing messages from back home may put the big decision in jeopardy.

1:20:50 > 1:20:54The Andrews are very close to their family in the UK

1:20:54 > 1:20:57so watching messages will be hard for them all.

1:20:57 > 1:21:01But Rob and Mel feel it's important for the children to join them.

1:21:01 > 1:21:05- Hello.- Hi, Mel. - Rob, Kobi, Lexi.

1:21:05 > 1:21:08ALL: Hope you're having a perfect time.

1:21:08 > 1:21:11- Hello.- Hope you're having a good time. Hope the sun's shining.

1:21:11 > 1:21:13What are they like as a family?

1:21:13 > 1:21:18- They're loving, very loving. - Very close family.

1:21:18 > 1:21:21Very close, very caring.

1:21:21 > 1:21:25They're really, really good fun. Their children are lovely.

1:21:25 > 1:21:26Really, really nice family.

1:21:26 > 1:21:30Nine times out of 10, Rob is always the funniest person in the room.

1:21:30 > 1:21:33Without a shadow of a doubt. He is definitely one of a kind.

1:21:33 > 1:21:38Lexi's kind of just happy-go-lucky, bouncy. She's getting to the age

1:21:38 > 1:21:40- where she's...- She's a minx.

1:21:40 > 1:21:41THEY LAUGH

1:21:43 > 1:21:45Kobi, he's quite a bright lad.

1:21:45 > 1:21:50You only have to show him something once and he picks it up.

1:21:50 > 1:21:53He's quite good like that. Very caring.

1:21:53 > 1:21:55When I first heard they were moving to Australia

1:21:55 > 1:21:58and applying to go to Australia, I thought it would be a good thing.

1:21:58 > 1:22:02I know they've both wanted to do something like that anyway.

1:22:02 > 1:22:04He's like a brother.

1:22:11 > 1:22:15I don't really know how we're going to sort of fill the gap

1:22:15 > 1:22:21they're going to leave until they've actually done it, really.

1:22:21 > 1:22:24But the decision's up to you and I'm sure you'll make the right one.

1:22:24 > 1:22:26Good luck.

1:22:26 > 1:22:30We love you dearly, very, very much. We all do.

1:22:30 > 1:22:34- And we hope you make the right decision.- Yeah, good luck.

1:22:34 > 1:22:36Good luck, I love you.

1:22:38 > 1:22:41And I hope that you've done all that you wanted to do.

1:22:41 > 1:22:45And whatever the decision you make, make sure it's for you.

1:22:45 > 1:22:49Make sure it's the one that you're happy with and the one that'll make you happy.

1:22:49 > 1:22:53As your mum, I just want you to be happy.

1:22:56 > 1:23:01- Yeah, and we'll see you when you get back. Take care, bye.- Bye.- Bye.

1:23:07 > 1:23:09How do you feel?

1:23:10 > 1:23:13- Sad.- You feel sad?

1:23:15 > 1:23:20You know, there's been some real big positives but then you watch that.

1:23:20 > 1:23:25- It makes you feel...ppfff.- It can just take everything away.

1:23:25 > 1:23:26Mummy, Mummy...

1:23:26 > 1:23:30It just throws everything up in the air, doesn't it?

1:23:30 > 1:23:32Whatever decision we make,

1:23:32 > 1:23:35we've got to make for the best for our family, don't we?

1:23:36 > 1:23:41I just want my kids to get the best out of everything, really.

1:23:41 > 1:23:46- I just want them to...enjoy life. - Mummy...

1:23:46 > 1:23:53I know we're taking them away from friends and family

1:23:53 > 1:23:55but they will make new friends here.

1:23:57 > 1:24:00You know, my auntie and uncle, I know it's hard for them.

1:24:00 > 1:24:02It's hard for me as well.

1:24:02 > 1:24:05The thing is, we don't know if it's the right decision or not

1:24:05 > 1:24:08but I guess we'll never know unless we try it.

1:24:11 > 1:24:16Seeing the people they care about has brought home just how painful

1:24:16 > 1:24:19a move would be for the whole family.

1:24:19 > 1:24:24If it's too high a price to pay, the move to Australia will be over.

1:24:24 > 1:24:27It's been an emotional week.

1:24:27 > 1:24:31Time for their Andrews family to make their final decision.

1:24:38 > 1:24:40I've really enjoyed this week.

1:24:40 > 1:24:42Obviously on the downside, there's...

1:24:42 > 1:24:44You watch your family and friends at home

1:24:44 > 1:24:47and, you know, it doesn't make it any easier

1:24:47 > 1:24:51and you know it's going to be really hard having to leave them behind.

1:24:51 > 1:24:54If I think about it too much, I'd properly crack and say, "No,

1:24:54 > 1:24:58"I can't do it." But I have got to try and focus

1:24:58 > 1:25:02and think what's best for our family and our future so...

1:25:02 > 1:25:05I just think if I don't try it, I'll never know

1:25:05 > 1:25:08and I just know I'll end up kicking myself

1:25:08 > 1:25:10thinking I should've done it when I had the chance.

1:25:10 > 1:25:13My emotions have been up and down all week.

1:25:13 > 1:25:18Especially with the flight over here, cos there's so much on my mind.

1:25:18 > 1:25:23If I decided against the move to Australia, Mel...

1:25:23 > 1:25:28Yeah, I think she would be upset, so, yeah, that does play on my mind a little bit,

1:25:28 > 1:25:33because she's my wife at the end of the day and I want to try to make her happy.

1:25:33 > 1:25:37Obviously I'd be devastated, gutted if he said that he didn't want to go

1:25:37 > 1:25:40but if he really doesn't want to do something, he won't,

1:25:40 > 1:25:45so I wouldn't be able to make him do it, so we shall see.

1:25:45 > 1:25:50It's the end of an emotional week and time for the Andrews' final vote.

1:25:50 > 1:25:54The whole family have spent one week in Australia.

1:25:54 > 1:25:57We've had our ups, we've had our downs.

1:25:57 > 1:26:04And it's now time for the family to vote whether it's UK or Australia.

1:26:04 > 1:26:08Based on our week here in Australia,

1:26:08 > 1:26:11as a family we have decided that we want to live in...

1:26:24 > 1:26:25Australia.

1:26:25 > 1:26:26Australia.

1:26:27 > 1:26:28Really?

1:26:31 > 1:26:36I think if we don't...give it a go,

1:26:36 > 1:26:39we'll regret it for the rest of our lives.

1:26:39 > 1:26:41It's going to be the hardest...

1:26:41 > 1:26:48the hardest thing we'll ever do, but...life's too short to have regrets and I don't want that.

1:26:53 > 1:26:57- Cool. What about you, Kobes? - What did you say to Daddy?

1:26:57 > 1:27:02- You want to live in Australia and you want to live in the UK, don't you? - Yeah.

1:27:02 > 1:27:04And Lexi chose Australia!

1:27:06 > 1:27:07It is a big step

1:27:07 > 1:27:11and we don't know if the grass is greener on the other side

1:27:11 > 1:27:13but unless we try it we'll never know

1:27:13 > 1:27:16and I'd rather find out for myself

1:27:16 > 1:27:19and I still think in my heart that,

1:27:19 > 1:27:22if we could make it after a couple of years,

1:27:22 > 1:27:25I honestly don't think we'd want to go back.

1:27:27 > 1:27:32But, um... Yeah.

1:27:32 > 1:27:34I think for the family's point of view...

1:27:34 > 1:27:36Yeah, you've got to do it.

1:27:36 > 1:27:41- Definitely. Go for it?- Hmm? - You want to go for it?

1:27:41 > 1:27:42Yep.

1:27:49 > 1:27:52- Love you.- Love you, Mummy.

1:27:54 > 1:27:59After facing the financial and emotional cost of leaving,

1:27:59 > 1:28:02the Andrews have chosen a future in Australia.

1:28:02 > 1:28:08With a tough decision behind them, it's time now for the next part of their journey to begin.
