0:00:02 > 0:00:05If you passionately believe moving to the other side of the world
0:00:05 > 0:00:08would give you and your partner the fresh start you desperately
0:00:08 > 0:00:14wanted, how far would you go to make your dream become a reality?
0:00:14 > 0:00:18Andrea and Stan Baum always dreamed of a move to Australia
0:00:18 > 0:00:21but in 2011, everything changed.
0:00:21 > 0:00:26Stan had an accident and that blew our whole worlds into pieces.
0:00:26 > 0:00:29Stan was left with life-changing injuries but miraculously,
0:00:29 > 0:00:31he's recovering
0:00:31 > 0:00:33and the couple are desperate for a fresh start.
0:00:33 > 0:00:37I love her really. As long as I'm with her, that is all that matters.
0:00:37 > 0:00:42- But will what they can gain Down Under...- Oh, my God!- Overwhelmed.
0:00:42 > 0:00:46- Sorry.- ..be something they could actually afford?- I would work...
0:00:48 > 0:00:51..till my bones ache to provide it.
0:01:16 > 0:01:20Over 30 times the size of the UK, and with breathtaking beaches,
0:01:20 > 0:01:23amazing architecture and a rich and diverse culture,
0:01:23 > 0:01:28Australia has been referred to as the biggest playground in the world.
0:01:28 > 0:01:31And with a population of just 23 million, there's plenty
0:01:31 > 0:01:34of space for new arrivals.
0:01:34 > 0:01:38But for many, the move is far from straightforward.
0:01:38 > 0:01:41After an incredibly challenging few years,
0:01:41 > 0:01:44Andrea and Stan have just one week in Brisbane to see
0:01:44 > 0:01:48if Australia really can offer them a second chance at life.
0:01:48 > 0:01:51At the end of the week, they will face an agonising decision,
0:01:51 > 0:01:55whether to stay in the UK or to make the move Down Under.
0:01:57 > 0:02:00To get to Brisbane in Eastern Australia,
0:02:00 > 0:02:04the Baums have spent a gruelling 22 1/2 hours on a plane.
0:02:08 > 0:02:10And when they touch down on Aussie soil,
0:02:10 > 0:02:13the distance from the UK really hits home.
0:02:13 > 0:02:17I'm like, "It's just Australia, it's just Australia," but actually...
0:02:17 > 0:02:19it's really far.
0:02:19 > 0:02:22So now they've arrived Down Under for the first time,
0:02:22 > 0:02:25what are the couple looking forward to most?
0:02:25 > 0:02:27Just the anticipation, to see if it's viable,
0:02:27 > 0:02:30if it's possible to live over here comfortably.
0:02:33 > 0:02:35I need to make an informed choice of whether or not
0:02:35 > 0:02:38we can financially live the dream that we want to live.
0:02:45 > 0:02:48Back in the UK, Stan, a former motor mechanic,
0:02:48 > 0:02:51and Andrea, a nurse, live in Loughborough in Leicestershire.
0:02:51 > 0:02:55They won't be here long if Andrea has her way.
0:02:55 > 0:02:59The Oz dream is kind of my little baby.
0:02:59 > 0:03:02I've wanted to go since I can remember.
0:03:02 > 0:03:05She has always said, right from the start,
0:03:05 > 0:03:07she wants to go Australia.
0:03:07 > 0:03:12I thought about it and the only way we could be together was for me
0:03:12 > 0:03:14to agree to it.
0:03:14 > 0:03:18We've had our five-year plan and we were walking towards it.
0:03:18 > 0:03:21We both worked hard and were both on the same page
0:03:21 > 0:03:22of where we wanted to be.
0:03:29 > 0:03:33Tragedy struck in 2011 when Stan was involved in an horrific
0:03:33 > 0:03:36motorbike accident.
0:03:36 > 0:03:39Six months after we got married,
0:03:39 > 0:03:41Stan had an accident
0:03:41 > 0:03:46and that basically blew our whole worlds into pieces.
0:03:46 > 0:03:52The last thing I can remember was the start of September 2010,
0:03:52 > 0:03:55which was when we got married.
0:03:55 > 0:03:58I can barely remember even getting married.
0:03:58 > 0:04:05Stan had quite a significant brain injury and broke pretty much
0:04:05 > 0:04:11every bone in his body, literally from his head down to his toes.
0:04:11 > 0:04:14Stan spent six weeks in a coma.
0:04:14 > 0:04:17His loved ones were told to expect the worst but Andrea
0:04:17 > 0:04:20and Stan's sister, Mel, refused to give up on him.
0:04:20 > 0:04:22I don't know what gave me the hope.
0:04:22 > 0:04:25I don't know what gave me the strength.
0:04:27 > 0:04:31Yeah, so... I said no, I didn't believe it.
0:04:31 > 0:04:34I said I wouldn't believe it. I said, "I don't believe it."
0:04:34 > 0:04:38I knew who he was before and I just knew that if he had any,
0:04:38 > 0:04:41literally the smallest chance, he would fight.
0:04:43 > 0:04:47I can't believe what I put my family through...
0:04:47 > 0:04:48and...
0:04:50 > 0:04:55The way they talk about it, it does feel like it's not me.
0:04:55 > 0:04:57It's...
0:05:00 > 0:05:03I said, "He will come back. I know he will." And I said,
0:05:03 > 0:05:05"I don't believe it and I won't believe it."
0:05:05 > 0:05:10He did, you know, and he came back to us and we've pushed him
0:05:10 > 0:05:12and motivated him.
0:05:17 > 0:05:20Against all odds and with his family's support,
0:05:20 > 0:05:22Stan was on the road to recovery.
0:05:26 > 0:05:33The early part of my recovery was painful, trying to do the physio,
0:05:33 > 0:05:36even trying to learn to walk.
0:05:36 > 0:05:40He's making very small milestones,
0:05:40 > 0:05:42which are fantastic.
0:05:44 > 0:05:48Stan can now get himself up, wash, get dressed, tie his own shoelaces,
0:05:48 > 0:05:50making me cups of tea.
0:05:50 > 0:05:55You know, it's having to learn to do everything again.
0:05:55 > 0:05:57Stan's rehabilitation will take time
0:05:57 > 0:06:01but the couple are determined to look towards a happier future.
0:06:01 > 0:06:03They rely on Andrea's income as a nurse
0:06:03 > 0:06:08but if Stan could return to work, it would end their financial pressures.
0:06:08 > 0:06:10We don't have the most comfortable of living.
0:06:10 > 0:06:12We literally went down from two wages
0:06:12 > 0:06:15and Stan was the main breadwinner, down to me.
0:06:15 > 0:06:17So, that took a big knock.
0:06:17 > 0:06:21A big change for us and it has been hard on us both.
0:06:21 > 0:06:25I feel sorry for the fact that I'm having to put Andrea through this
0:06:25 > 0:06:28but she's willing to do it.
0:06:28 > 0:06:33She is willing to stay and fight as long as I keep pushing myself.
0:06:33 > 0:06:36But no matter how much they might gain,
0:06:36 > 0:06:39moving will mean sacrificing relationships with family
0:06:39 > 0:06:43and friends who supported them through the last few years.
0:06:43 > 0:06:47The thought of moving without them is really upsetting and heartbreaking.
0:06:47 > 0:06:52I needed their support actually more than I realised I needed at the time.
0:06:52 > 0:06:55Looking back, it's easy to look back with hindsight.
0:06:55 > 0:07:01If I hadn't have had them there, I don't think I could have coped.
0:07:02 > 0:07:05They meant the world and I'm indebted to them for life.
0:07:05 > 0:07:10Despite strong emotional ties, Andrea and Stan are desperate
0:07:10 > 0:07:13to put the past behind them and start afresh in Australia.
0:07:13 > 0:07:17It is where Andrea definitely wants to be and...
0:07:18 > 0:07:23Well, I just, I'm hoping that it's going to be good for us.
0:07:23 > 0:07:27We are literally go to be leaving everything behind to try
0:07:27 > 0:07:30and start a new life again and start a new chapter, a new book.
0:07:32 > 0:07:36It's literally everything. Everything is on the line.
0:07:46 > 0:07:50Stan and Andrea have been through incredibly tough times.
0:07:50 > 0:07:53Now they've just one week to see if Australia can offer them
0:07:53 > 0:07:56the opportunities and lifestyle they are dreaming of.
0:07:56 > 0:07:58For their trial visit,
0:07:58 > 0:08:02they are staying in a two-bedroom apartment in Brisbane city centre.
0:08:02 > 0:08:04It's their first taste of Aussie-style living.
0:08:04 > 0:08:06Absolutely stunning.
0:08:06 > 0:08:08First impressions are good.
0:08:09 > 0:08:12- Look at the view.- Wow!- Oh, my God!
0:08:12 > 0:08:15High is not one of my specialities but you know what,
0:08:15 > 0:08:21- I will learn to love it.- Amazing! - Amazing. Absolutely amazing.
0:08:21 > 0:08:24But after a look around the apartment,
0:08:24 > 0:08:26Andrea has a tiny grumble.
0:08:26 > 0:08:30I would like a little bit more living space if I'm perfectly honest.
0:08:30 > 0:08:31A bigger kitchen.
0:08:31 > 0:08:34A bigger kitchen because I do trash the kitchen when I cook.
0:08:34 > 0:08:37But all in all, is their home for the week a hit?
0:08:37 > 0:08:42If this was what we can afford, I would suffer in silence...
0:08:42 > 0:08:46- which will make a change! - Yeah, a big change!
0:08:46 > 0:08:50The early signs look promising but Andrea is already feeling
0:08:50 > 0:08:53pressure to provide the life they want.
0:08:53 > 0:08:54It's like saying, thank goodness,
0:08:54 > 0:08:57this little carrot in front of you but you will never catch it.
0:08:57 > 0:09:00That's quite scary.
0:09:00 > 0:09:05This was Andrea's dream, right from the start but basically,
0:09:05 > 0:09:11you know, the main reason that I have gone with the idea
0:09:11 > 0:09:17is I love her really and you know, whatever she wants to do,
0:09:17 > 0:09:20as long as I'm with her, that's all that matters.
0:09:20 > 0:09:25It's starting again, starting somewhere new, fresh.
0:09:26 > 0:09:30Scary, really scary! Really exciting.
0:09:39 > 0:09:42Back in the UK, home for Stan and Andrea is a three-bedroom
0:09:42 > 0:09:44detached house in Loughborough
0:09:44 > 0:09:48but how important is finding the right place in Australia?
0:09:48 > 0:09:50For any dream, you need a base
0:09:50 > 0:09:52and your heart is your home, isn't it?
0:09:52 > 0:09:57You're going to need that. Yeah, it's really important.
0:09:57 > 0:10:01What kind of house would they be happy to call home?
0:10:02 > 0:10:06Just something relatively modern, very simplistic.
0:10:06 > 0:10:08You don't want people looking in...
0:10:08 > 0:10:11Yeah, we don't want to be overcrowded, overlooked.
0:10:13 > 0:10:15Two toilets, pretty please,
0:10:15 > 0:10:20whether that's two bathrooms or just two toilets, I'm not fussy.
0:10:22 > 0:10:25Today, we will show the Baums three houses based on what they think
0:10:25 > 0:10:29they can afford, what they would ideally like and one in between.
0:10:29 > 0:10:33Only after they've seen each one will they find out its cost.
0:10:35 > 0:10:37First up is a four-bedroom bungalow in the suburb of
0:10:37 > 0:10:42Springfield Lakes, just 35 minutes' drive from Brisbane city centre.
0:10:42 > 0:10:45It's an up-and-coming area, offering good value for money.
0:10:45 > 0:10:50But will this house be within their £250,000 budget?
0:10:50 > 0:10:53- Double garage.- That's amazing.- Yeah.
0:10:54 > 0:10:57- Sorry, sorry.- It's all right. It's all right.
0:10:59 > 0:11:03- You are scary, you are.- Just testing!
0:11:08 > 0:11:12- Summery, isn't it? - Yeah. There's light.
0:11:12 > 0:11:15Ex-mechanic Stan caught sight of the garage from the road,
0:11:15 > 0:11:17but what would he make of it inside?
0:11:17 > 0:11:22- Beautiful.- This is... - I've found my room!- Yeah!
0:11:22 > 0:11:26All we need is a toilet in here and you're set for life.
0:11:26 > 0:11:28It is all looking good but in the kitchen,
0:11:28 > 0:11:31Stan spots something else of interest.
0:11:31 > 0:11:33- What's that?- Washing machine.
0:11:33 > 0:11:37Stan, welcome to the world of a washing machine.
0:11:37 > 0:11:39- I need the instructions.- Yeah.
0:11:39 > 0:11:42Guess who doesn't do the washing but how does this compare to what
0:11:42 > 0:11:44they are used to?
0:11:44 > 0:11:46Our kitchen back home is...
0:11:46 > 0:11:50a little bit bigger but it's all kind of closed in,
0:11:50 > 0:11:52so this feels bigger.
0:11:52 > 0:11:54With four bedrooms and two bathrooms,
0:11:54 > 0:11:57this house ticks all the boxes but not everything
0:11:57 > 0:11:59is quite to their taste.
0:11:59 > 0:12:02Some of the tiles and some of the decor is a little bit...
0:12:02 > 0:12:05- Just the colours... - A little bit dated
0:12:05 > 0:12:08and also a bit tired but it's not a massive thing to do up
0:12:08 > 0:12:11because you'd change a lot of things anyway.
0:12:16 > 0:12:20Andrea is already visualising her own furnishings in the living room.
0:12:20 > 0:12:25TV, I'm sure, we can stick that somewhere. You'll make room for that.
0:12:25 > 0:12:28- We might need a bigger TV. - No, we don't need a bigger TV.
0:12:28 > 0:12:33- And what about the garden?- Love the garden. Love, love, love the garden.
0:12:33 > 0:12:38It's...perfect. The garden is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
0:12:38 > 0:12:39- Lovely size.- Yeah.
0:12:39 > 0:12:44It's a good note to end on but can Stan and Andrea's budget
0:12:44 > 0:12:47of around £250,000 stretch to a house like this?
0:12:47 > 0:12:48I don't want to know.
0:12:56 > 0:12:59- Do you want to see? - Yeah. Really?- Yeah.
0:13:01 > 0:13:05- That's surprising.- Yeah. Yeah, that is.- I thought it would be over.
0:13:05 > 0:13:07Yeah, I did.
0:13:07 > 0:13:11Stan and Andrea could afford this house but with two more
0:13:11 > 0:13:13to look at, they aren't committing to anything yet.
0:13:18 > 0:13:20Staying in Springfield Lakes,
0:13:20 > 0:13:23the next property is one of the area's most popular streets.
0:13:23 > 0:13:26With lakes, parks and sporting facilities on the doorstep,
0:13:26 > 0:13:30it could be a great base for Stan's rehabilitation
0:13:30 > 0:13:32but will it offer the space they want?
0:13:33 > 0:13:37It...looks a bit...squished.
0:13:37 > 0:13:39It's got a flat driveway.
0:13:41 > 0:13:45So, you won't fall. First impressions? Not bad.
0:13:45 > 0:13:46And the inside...
0:13:46 > 0:13:51It doesn't look the size at all from the front
0:13:51 > 0:13:53but it's actually quite spacious in here.
0:13:57 > 0:14:01The house also has the two bathrooms Andrea wants.
0:14:01 > 0:14:05- Very nice. Good size. - Look at the shower!- User-friendly.
0:14:05 > 0:14:09This is a great size shower and I would be able to stand
0:14:09 > 0:14:12and put a support in there, to keep my balance...
0:14:13 > 0:14:17..and be able to have a shower.
0:14:17 > 0:14:20This place is scoring well but will the open-plan kitchen
0:14:20 > 0:14:23and living area be to Stan and Andrea's taste?
0:14:23 > 0:14:25- I really like this.- Wow, yeah.
0:14:26 > 0:14:29- Look at the design.- Yeah.- Beautiful.
0:14:29 > 0:14:31It flows and I think that's the beauty of this house.
0:14:31 > 0:14:35- It's just flows. - Flows from one to the other.
0:14:35 > 0:14:37It's brilliant for Stan's mobility.
0:14:37 > 0:14:41With four bedrooms, the house has plenty of room for visitors.
0:14:41 > 0:14:45Nice! Really nice. I've got a walk-in wardrobe.
0:14:46 > 0:14:50I reckon this is going to be way over our budget. But you know?
0:14:51 > 0:14:53It's something to work towards.
0:14:53 > 0:14:56Andrea's already thinking about ways to make this work
0:14:56 > 0:14:59but will she be as keen when they step outside?
0:14:59 > 0:15:01It's quite overlooked actually.
0:15:02 > 0:15:06- Yeah.- I must admit I'm not a fan of the garden at all.
0:15:06 > 0:15:09When we go out, a lot of people stare at Stan
0:15:09 > 0:15:12because he walks funny and has a massive scar.
0:15:12 > 0:15:15In your own home, you kind of relax
0:15:15 > 0:15:17and nobody has to look at you.
0:15:19 > 0:15:22Here, he would still be stared at.
0:15:23 > 0:15:27You come out to Australia for the outdoor living and if you don't have
0:15:27 > 0:15:32much outdoor living space, you are going to be stuck in the house and...
0:15:34 > 0:15:38It's not worth travelling the other side of the world for.
0:15:38 > 0:15:42Who wants to be in a warmer country as then have to
0:15:42 > 0:15:43stay inside? Nobody.
0:15:43 > 0:15:46The property had promised so much
0:15:46 > 0:15:48but the lack of outside space is a big let down.
0:15:48 > 0:15:52If it was affordable, would they reconsider?
0:15:52 > 0:15:53OK, ready?
0:15:55 > 0:15:57£260,000.
0:16:00 > 0:16:02You used to be able to get a lot more for your money.
0:16:02 > 0:16:06With the current exchange rate and every thing else...
0:16:06 > 0:16:08it makes things a lot tighter.
0:16:09 > 0:16:13At £10,000 over budget, this house isn't totally out of reach
0:16:13 > 0:16:16but they don't think it's worth the stretch.
0:16:22 > 0:16:26This four-bedroom house is in Redland Bay, a laid-back suburb,
0:16:26 > 0:16:29just over 30 miles south-east of Brisbane.
0:16:30 > 0:16:32The property promises modern interiors
0:16:32 > 0:16:35but can it offer better value for money?
0:16:35 > 0:16:37- We can't afford this.- No.
0:16:37 > 0:16:40- This is going to be the carrot and stick.- Way out of our budget.
0:16:40 > 0:16:43They are shocked by the cost of the properties so far
0:16:43 > 0:16:46- but this house has an immediate impact.- Speechless.
0:16:46 > 0:16:50- Without words, without words. - For the first time, I'm actually...
0:16:52 > 0:16:53..speechless.
0:16:53 > 0:16:56Andrea really is struggling for words.
0:16:56 > 0:16:58It's just...
0:17:00 > 0:17:06- That is amazing.- Stunning.- I can see myself here.- Yeah, yeah. Definitely.
0:17:08 > 0:17:11Sounds like this house could be the one to convince them
0:17:11 > 0:17:13it's the right move.
0:17:13 > 0:17:15I would take one, please.
0:17:15 > 0:17:20I would take this in a heartbeat. Wow.
0:17:20 > 0:17:24If we could actually afford this, we would not even question it.
0:17:24 > 0:17:27- We would just say, "Yes, please." - Yes, please.
0:17:30 > 0:17:32And the best is still to come.
0:17:32 > 0:17:36This property includes access to some facilities that could be
0:17:36 > 0:17:38a huge help to Stan's recovery.
0:17:38 > 0:17:42- Oh, my God! Stan, it's a gym!- Oh!
0:17:44 > 0:17:47And a fitness centre. It's got a tennis court down there.
0:17:47 > 0:17:50- Oh, my God.- Nice one.- Oh, my God!
0:17:53 > 0:17:55I don't know what to say.
0:18:07 > 0:18:10It's an emotional moment as they realise
0:18:10 > 0:18:13what this could mean for Stan.
0:18:13 > 0:18:15Just to have that access,
0:18:15 > 0:18:18it would make his life easier.
0:18:20 > 0:18:21Overwhelmed.
0:18:23 > 0:18:28It has been two years since... while I've been like this
0:18:28 > 0:18:32and you know, what I've had to go through with the family
0:18:32 > 0:18:35and everybody, but they've all been so supportive.
0:18:36 > 0:18:42Every day, I train. Every day, I work. Every day, I do something.
0:18:42 > 0:18:45Just because I wouldn't need to convert the house.
0:18:45 > 0:18:48We wouldn't have to pay for gym equipment, we could just...
0:18:51 > 0:18:54Yeah. It would just help him out.
0:18:56 > 0:18:58He worked really hard.
0:18:58 > 0:19:01He does work really hard to get better. It would be just...
0:19:01 > 0:19:03I feel like an idiot. Sorry.
0:19:08 > 0:19:09It does...
0:19:16 > 0:19:19When you've heard the doctors and they didn't even think
0:19:19 > 0:19:23I would wake up, let alone be able to walk and use this arm,
0:19:23 > 0:19:29you know, everything has been a challenge but it's been worth it.
0:19:30 > 0:19:35You know, and to have this opportunity would be amazing.
0:19:35 > 0:19:39If Andrea and Stan were to buy a property like this,
0:19:39 > 0:19:42it could genuinely be a life-changing move.
0:19:42 > 0:19:44If I could...
0:19:44 > 0:19:46work harder to provide that,
0:19:46 > 0:19:50if I could work it so that I could afford that, then I would.
0:19:52 > 0:19:56If there is no way, then there is no way but if I could, I would work....
0:19:58 > 0:20:00..till my bones ached to provide it.
0:20:02 > 0:20:05With so much resting on it, the pair are reluctant to see
0:20:05 > 0:20:10how close it is to their £250,000 budget.
0:20:10 > 0:20:13Part of me doesn't actually want to know what that says.
0:20:16 > 0:20:18- You ready?- No.
0:20:24 > 0:20:26SHE LAUGHS
0:20:34 > 0:20:38It's over budget, but by just £17,000.
0:20:38 > 0:20:42So, depending on job prospects, it could be achievable.
0:20:49 > 0:20:52- Where do we sign up?- Yeah!
0:20:53 > 0:20:55Yeah.
0:20:56 > 0:20:58- That is amazing.- Yeah.
0:21:00 > 0:21:02I'm a little bit shell-shocked.
0:21:02 > 0:21:05It's been an emotional day of house-hunting.
0:21:10 > 0:21:13The first property was smaller than they wanted,
0:21:13 > 0:21:15but they did love the garden.
0:21:15 > 0:21:17Property two had more space,
0:21:17 > 0:21:20but the overlooked garden left them cold.
0:21:20 > 0:21:24But property three was not just the dream house, it also offered
0:21:24 > 0:21:29access to facilities that could literally change Stan's life.
0:21:29 > 0:21:32So, based on what they've seen today...
0:21:32 > 0:21:34It is time for us to vote.
0:21:34 > 0:21:38..will the couple choose property in the UK or Australia?
0:21:46 > 0:21:48- Australia.- Australia.
0:21:49 > 0:21:55Finding a house with a gym, that is, you know, an unbelievable,
0:21:55 > 0:21:58you know, option for us to try.
0:21:58 > 0:22:02It was literally like we had won the lottery when we saw the gym.
0:22:02 > 0:22:06Because I just thought of all the things that Stan could do
0:22:06 > 0:22:10to progress, and that was really, really special.
0:22:21 > 0:22:24With her heart set on a house that could change Stan's life,
0:22:24 > 0:22:26Andrea knows, as the sole earner,
0:22:26 > 0:22:29the pressure is on to get a job with a good salary.
0:22:29 > 0:22:32At home, Andrea is a deputy sister of the A&E department
0:22:32 > 0:22:34at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
0:22:34 > 0:22:37Finding something similar in Australia is pivotal.
0:22:37 > 0:22:40The job's got to be right. Not just from a financial point of view.
0:22:40 > 0:22:43I mean, that has DEFINITELY got to be right.
0:22:43 > 0:22:47If I had to leave where I work to work somewhere that wasn't right,
0:22:47 > 0:22:49didn't feel right, wasn't as comfortable,
0:22:49 > 0:22:50I don't think I could do it.
0:22:50 > 0:22:53Former mechanic Stan wants to return to work,
0:22:53 > 0:22:56and he is already taking steps to make it happen.
0:22:56 > 0:22:59I've been told that I can't be a mechanic.
0:22:59 > 0:23:04And I can't...while my arm is not working as good.
0:23:04 > 0:23:10So, I've thought about pushing myself to be a teacher of mechanics.
0:23:10 > 0:23:14It's very important to me, you know, to get back to work.
0:23:14 > 0:23:16That is my independence.
0:23:18 > 0:23:23Today, Andrea and Stan will get to explore work options in Brisbane.
0:23:23 > 0:23:25Andrea is visiting a private hospital
0:23:25 > 0:23:28and is shown around by fellow emergency room nurse,
0:23:28 > 0:23:31Diana Brown, who also happens to be an expat.
0:23:31 > 0:23:37- This is our resus area.- Mm-hmm. - So we have Resus 1 and Resus 2.
0:23:37 > 0:23:39Andrea is used to shift work
0:23:39 > 0:23:41and is prepared to do more of the same in Australia.
0:23:41 > 0:23:46- What hours do you work?- Do a 38-hour week. We have 12-hour shifts here.
0:23:46 > 0:23:48You can do eight-hour shifts.
0:23:48 > 0:23:52So you would start at seven and finish at half past three.
0:23:52 > 0:23:56Meanwhile, Stan is meeting a teacher at a further education college
0:23:56 > 0:23:59to find out if teaching mechanics could be a realistic option.
0:24:00 > 0:24:02Is that on for bodywork, is it?
0:24:02 > 0:24:06- Yeah, well, this area is particularly set up for servicing.- Yeah.
0:24:06 > 0:24:07For training and for servicing.
0:24:07 > 0:24:11These particular guys are doing a maintenance course at the moment.
0:24:11 > 0:24:14It's really nice being back here cos it kind of reminds me of,
0:24:14 > 0:24:17like, you know, when I was a mechanic.
0:24:17 > 0:24:19As Stan's reacquainted with the smell of diesel,
0:24:19 > 0:24:22Andrea meets with the hospital's Director Of Learning And Development,
0:24:22 > 0:24:24Donna Bonney.
0:24:24 > 0:24:26Determined to make the move,
0:24:26 > 0:24:29Andrea needs to know there's actually work out there.
0:24:29 > 0:24:32At the moment, probably wouldn't be as many
0:24:32 > 0:24:37employer-sponsored visas in the big cities.
0:24:37 > 0:24:40Maybe a better option is to go with a recruitment agency
0:24:40 > 0:24:43and just tell them you're looking for an employer-sponsored visa
0:24:43 > 0:24:45and they would have then a number of health services
0:24:45 > 0:24:48that they could refer you to.
0:24:48 > 0:24:51Finding the level of work Andrea wants might take a while
0:24:51 > 0:24:54but would the money be worth the wait?
0:24:54 > 0:24:56I think if you came across
0:24:56 > 0:25:01and you were up on the high-level paypoint of a registered nurse,
0:25:01 > 0:25:02given your years of experience,
0:25:02 > 0:25:07you'd be bringing home an average of 85,000.
0:25:07 > 0:25:09It's a big jump
0:25:09 > 0:25:11from what I'm on at the minute.
0:25:11 > 0:25:13- Mm.- In fact, it's about double my wage.
0:25:13 > 0:25:16- Wow!- Yeah, that's just about double my wage.
0:25:17 > 0:25:20Wow! I'm absolutely gobsmacked.
0:25:20 > 0:25:23That's a brilliant result for Andrea.
0:25:23 > 0:25:26But are Stan's qualifications transferable?
0:25:26 > 0:25:29To start, you're at least going to need your certificate
0:25:29 > 0:25:30in training and investment.
0:25:30 > 0:25:32That would be a minimum requirement to start.
0:25:32 > 0:25:34Then you can work on your diploma.
0:25:34 > 0:25:38Cos at the moment, I'm, you know, classed as disabled.
0:25:38 > 0:25:42- Mm-hm.- Would that affect me being able to work?
0:25:42 > 0:25:43Definitely not.
0:25:43 > 0:25:46There's teachers here already with disabilities, that are teaching.
0:25:46 > 0:25:49Much like yourself, they've had an incident
0:25:49 > 0:25:52and they've ended up with a disability
0:25:52 > 0:25:54and now they're teaching and loving it. It's great.
0:25:54 > 0:25:58How much would you think I will be able to earn as a teacher?
0:25:58 > 0:26:00As a fully qualified teacher,
0:26:00 > 0:26:03you should be looking at around 85,000 a year.
0:26:03 > 0:26:05- Yeah, that is really good. - Excellent.
0:26:05 > 0:26:07Sounds like something up your alley, then?
0:26:07 > 0:26:09- Definitely.- Yeah.
0:26:09 > 0:26:12That's a real incentive for Stan to get back to employment.
0:26:12 > 0:26:14So based on today's experience,
0:26:14 > 0:26:18will the couple choose work in Australia or the UK?
0:26:23 > 0:26:25Australia!
0:26:25 > 0:26:26Australia!
0:26:28 > 0:26:30- You want Australia?- Yeah, I do.
0:26:30 > 0:26:32It's exciting. Nerve-racking!
0:26:32 > 0:26:35I didn't think I would like it as much as I did.
0:26:35 > 0:26:39The facilities for training was beyond what I expected,
0:26:39 > 0:26:41beyond what I had when I was at school.
0:26:41 > 0:26:44And the wages, as well -
0:26:44 > 0:26:45amazing.
0:26:45 > 0:26:48And it would make a big difference to us -
0:26:48 > 0:26:49me working, as well.
0:26:58 > 0:27:01With the potential to earn enough for that dream house,
0:27:01 > 0:27:04Andrea and Stan's hopes for a new beginning in Australia
0:27:04 > 0:27:06are looking more and more likely.
0:27:06 > 0:27:10But with Stan's rehabilitation central to everything they do,
0:27:10 > 0:27:13will the Aussie lifestyle meet their needs?
0:27:15 > 0:27:17The couple head out to explore the city
0:27:17 > 0:27:20on a day which will also give them time
0:27:20 > 0:27:22to reflect on their experiences so far.
0:27:22 > 0:27:24It's absolutely fab.
0:27:24 > 0:27:27In the UK, Stan relies on support from several organisations
0:27:27 > 0:27:31and it's important they can replicate that in Australia.
0:27:32 > 0:27:35The couple meet Jo, a local physiotherapist,
0:27:35 > 0:27:38to see if Brisbane can offer the same facilities.
0:27:38 > 0:27:42Our life is wrapped pretty much around Stan and his physio,
0:27:42 > 0:27:44- and getting him back...- Yeah.
0:27:44 > 0:27:46- ..to as good as he is ever going to get.- Yeah.
0:27:46 > 0:27:48So we have our private physio at home
0:27:48 > 0:27:51- and then he goes to the gym with a support worker as well...- Yeah.
0:27:51 > 0:27:53..from the charity called Headway.
0:27:53 > 0:27:55- Headway, we have the same in Australia, as well.- Oh, do you?
0:27:55 > 0:27:58- Yeah.- Oh, that's useful to know. - They're based at the Gold Coast
0:27:58 > 0:28:03and there are certainly other similar organisations.
0:28:03 > 0:28:06Do you think that the service will be able to help him
0:28:06 > 0:28:08- and to help him to progress and continue?- For sure, yeah.
0:28:08 > 0:28:10Yeah, for sure.
0:28:10 > 0:28:13We've got excellent, excellent neurorehab service in Australia.
0:28:15 > 0:28:17It's been an enlightening day.
0:28:17 > 0:28:20But do the couple believe Australia could offer Stan
0:28:20 > 0:28:21the lifestyle he needs?
0:28:21 > 0:28:23It's time to vote.
0:28:26 > 0:28:28- Australia!- Australia.
0:28:29 > 0:28:33The whole point about us moving this far away from friends and family
0:28:33 > 0:28:38is for Stan and what rehabilitation we've got on offer.
0:28:38 > 0:28:42And just the general lifestyle that Australia could offer both of us.
0:28:42 > 0:28:46I just want to keep trying and keep trying to get fit again.
0:28:46 > 0:28:48You know, and I want that for, you know,
0:28:48 > 0:28:51for Andrea, you know, for our family.
0:28:51 > 0:28:53You know, I just want that in general.
0:28:53 > 0:28:57This is an opportunity for us to get back into what we want.
0:29:12 > 0:29:14Before Stan's accident,
0:29:14 > 0:29:16biking was a real passion for the couple.
0:29:16 > 0:29:19And it's a hobby they're both keen to get back to.
0:29:19 > 0:29:22- Hey, Stan. I'm Jason, how are you? - Hi, Jason.- Hi.
0:29:22 > 0:29:26The couple are meeting up with a group that rides spider bikes.
0:29:26 > 0:29:29They're a three-wheeled bike built for speed and stability
0:29:29 > 0:29:32that are popular with disabled users.
0:29:32 > 0:29:34- How are you doing?- Good. Yourself? - Not bad.
0:29:34 > 0:29:37- Daniel rides the black one over there.- Oh, yeah?
0:29:37 > 0:29:41With, obviously, the wheelchair on the back. So...
0:29:41 > 0:29:43- Looking at getting back on a bike? - Definitely.
0:29:43 > 0:29:46- Good to hear.- Yeah.
0:29:46 > 0:29:49I was saying, like, I'm kind of gutted about what's happened
0:29:49 > 0:29:52- but I'm determined to get better from it.- Yeah. Yeah.
0:29:52 > 0:29:54No, with these things,
0:29:54 > 0:29:56there's always a way to get back on a motorbike!
0:29:56 > 0:29:58My accident was from scuba-diving
0:29:58 > 0:30:01but I had doctors saying that I wouldn't be, excuse me,
0:30:01 > 0:30:04driving a car or riding a motorbike or... And I do...
0:30:04 > 0:30:08Everything they've told me I couldn't do, I'm doing.
0:30:08 > 0:30:09And at the end of the day,
0:30:09 > 0:30:11it's pretty much just to prove someone wrong.
0:30:11 > 0:30:12Oh, yeah.
0:30:12 > 0:30:15But if you've got something you want to do, then you've got to do it.
0:30:15 > 0:30:19This is a really big day for Andrea and Stan.
0:30:19 > 0:30:20Seeing Stan on the bike is fantastic.
0:30:20 > 0:30:23You know, first time since the accident, you know, it's just...
0:30:23 > 0:30:26It's amazing. It really is amazing. I'm so happy for him.
0:30:26 > 0:30:29It's unbelievable, the fact that, you know,
0:30:29 > 0:30:32it's been over two years since I've, you know, been on a bike.
0:30:32 > 0:30:35So I'm so excited for that.
0:30:35 > 0:30:37It's a dream come true.
0:30:59 > 0:31:02Amazing experience to be on a bike again.
0:31:02 > 0:31:03Yeah, definitely.
0:31:03 > 0:31:05For them, it's been yet another glimpse
0:31:05 > 0:31:08of the life they could be leading down under.
0:31:08 > 0:31:11If we get over here, I'm definitely going to join the club.
0:31:11 > 0:31:14I love going for rides, going for drives.
0:31:14 > 0:31:18You know, I love being part of the team, like.
0:31:18 > 0:31:21Fantastic. Really friendly. Thank you guys for all coming out.
0:31:21 > 0:31:24- We really do appreciate it. - Definitely.- Yeah, no. Made our day.
0:31:24 > 0:31:26- Definitely made our day. - We put a smile on both your faces.
0:31:26 > 0:31:29- What more could we want?! - That's what it's about.- Yeah!
0:31:40 > 0:31:43So far, Stan and Andrea have discovered
0:31:43 > 0:31:46Australia could offer them everything they've ever wanted
0:31:46 > 0:31:47and more.
0:31:47 > 0:31:50But affording their dream life could be a different matter.
0:31:50 > 0:31:53And getting the right price for their home in the UK
0:31:53 > 0:31:54will be crucial.
0:31:54 > 0:31:57I think, in the current climate, I think maybe about 160.
0:31:57 > 0:31:58That would be nice.
0:31:58 > 0:32:00So we've sent round two estate agents
0:32:00 > 0:32:02to find out its value.
0:32:03 > 0:32:05Oh, so... Lounge.
0:32:06 > 0:32:08Nice bay window to the side.
0:32:08 > 0:32:09And light, good light either end.
0:32:11 > 0:32:13Oh, that wasn't dusted!
0:32:14 > 0:32:16'OK, so the kitchen.'
0:32:16 > 0:32:18A nice family space.
0:32:18 > 0:32:21Room for dining, as well as the preparation.
0:32:24 > 0:32:27Oh, you can see there's no handle on that door.
0:32:29 > 0:32:31Again, big picture window onto the garden.
0:32:31 > 0:32:34And then the bathroom is a little bit dated.
0:32:34 > 0:32:37- 'The floor brings it to life a little bit.'- Very dated!
0:32:37 > 0:32:39But you can probably get away with it
0:32:39 > 0:32:42cos it's all white and contemporary. It's clean and it's fine.
0:32:42 > 0:32:45I would suggest it should be put on the open market to test
0:32:45 > 0:32:50at £165,000, with a effective "for sale" figure
0:32:50 > 0:32:52of 155.
0:32:52 > 0:32:53Really?
0:32:53 > 0:32:56I'd value it at around 175,000.
0:32:56 > 0:32:58For a quicker sale,
0:32:58 > 0:33:01I'd suggest an asking price in the region of 169,950 be quoted.
0:33:03 > 0:33:05I preferred the second guy!
0:33:05 > 0:33:08- Oh, definitely.- But yeah, I thought that, cos of...
0:33:08 > 0:33:09the bathroom.
0:33:09 > 0:33:13If the bathroom was done, the garden was finished...
0:33:15 > 0:33:18..I think it might get a little bit more. But not that much.
0:33:18 > 0:33:21The valuation is roughly what they expected.
0:33:21 > 0:33:23But Stan and Andrea both need to know
0:33:23 > 0:33:25if they can afford to live in Australia.
0:33:25 > 0:33:28We've prepared a cost-of-living comparison,
0:33:28 > 0:33:30starting with their weekly food shop.
0:33:30 > 0:33:34Breakfast cereals. Oh, £1.52 worse off.
0:33:34 > 0:33:36Same with tea bags?
0:33:36 > 0:33:38Oh, my word! £2.54?!
0:33:38 > 0:33:40Oh, dear, you're going to have to cut that out.
0:33:40 > 0:33:42- No, you've got no chance.- No?
0:33:42 > 0:33:44Not unless you want to live with a grouch!
0:33:44 > 0:33:46When Andrea's at work in the UK,
0:33:46 > 0:33:48Stan relies on ready meals.
0:33:48 > 0:33:50But they don't come cheap in Brisbane.
0:33:50 > 0:33:52There's £7 difference!
0:33:52 > 0:33:54- You'll have to start cooking. - I'll have to learn to cook.
0:33:54 > 0:33:56Yeah, you're going to have to.
0:33:56 > 0:34:02- So food, we're £27...- Different. - ..worse off.
0:34:02 > 0:34:03Yeah.
0:34:03 > 0:34:05Per week.
0:34:05 > 0:34:07Looking at the bigger living costs,
0:34:07 > 0:34:09with Andrea being the sole earner,
0:34:09 > 0:34:12any increase in bills could make things too tight,
0:34:12 > 0:34:16especially as they're basing their calculations on the dream house.
0:34:16 > 0:34:18This is when it comes down to it.
0:34:18 > 0:34:19Because...
0:34:21 > 0:34:25On our mortgage per month, we'll be £520 worse.
0:34:25 > 0:34:26Cos it's...
0:34:26 > 0:34:29The Australian property is more expensive than ours.
0:34:29 > 0:34:32The electricity here is a lot higher.
0:34:32 > 0:34:35It's £133 extra per month.
0:34:35 > 0:34:37Our total monthly outgoings...
0:34:37 > 0:34:39We're £1,000...
0:34:39 > 0:34:41worse off.
0:34:41 > 0:34:44But if Andrea finds the job she wants,
0:34:44 > 0:34:47she would potentially be earning almost £30,000 more
0:34:47 > 0:34:49than she does in UK.
0:34:49 > 0:34:50When she factors that in,
0:34:50 > 0:34:52will it be enough to deflect the hit?
0:34:56 > 0:34:57At the end of the month,
0:34:57 > 0:34:58we are £496...
0:34:58 > 0:35:00better off.
0:35:02 > 0:35:06- This is just on your wage? - That's just on my wage.
0:35:06 > 0:35:08- That is unbelievable.- Yeah.
0:35:08 > 0:35:10I'm quite shocked by that, actually.
0:35:10 > 0:35:13Happily shocked! Yeah, really shocked by that.
0:35:13 > 0:35:15So, based on today's figures,
0:35:15 > 0:35:19will the couple opt for finances in the UK or Australia?
0:35:19 > 0:35:22- I think it's time for a vote. You ready?- I reckon so.
0:35:22 > 0:35:23- Yeah.- OK, go.
0:35:32 > 0:35:34- England.- Aus...
0:35:34 > 0:35:36I'm only joking. Australia!
0:35:38 > 0:35:40You caught me by surprise there!
0:35:40 > 0:35:42I didn't want to be too predictable.
0:35:42 > 0:35:45You know, we want to start a family together.
0:35:45 > 0:35:48You know, I want to progress.
0:35:48 > 0:35:50You know, I want to get back to work.
0:35:50 > 0:35:54And it makes it all so very possible.
0:35:59 > 0:36:01The week just keeps getting better
0:36:01 > 0:36:02for Andrea and Stan.
0:36:02 > 0:36:05But there's one major obstacle still to overcome,
0:36:05 > 0:36:08as they contemplate leaving the loved ones
0:36:08 > 0:36:11who have supported them through the accident and trauma
0:36:11 > 0:36:12of the past two years.
0:36:12 > 0:36:15- Are you ready for this? - No, but let's do it.
0:36:17 > 0:36:20- Hi, guys! How you doing?- Hi, there.
0:36:20 > 0:36:23Hello! Hope you're having a good time down there and,
0:36:23 > 0:36:25you know, having fun.
0:36:25 > 0:36:28Hello, Stan, Andrea, I'm missing you both
0:36:28 > 0:36:31and I'm wondering how you're both getting on.
0:36:31 > 0:36:35Hello, Auntie Andrea! Hope you're all right, hope the weather's nice.
0:36:35 > 0:36:40When you go up, to Andrea and Stan, what they say in Welsh,
0:36:40 > 0:36:43a big cwtch, it's like a big hug.
0:36:43 > 0:36:47You walk in the house and you feel really welcome.
0:36:47 > 0:36:53Andrea, I'd say she's a very hard-working career girl.
0:36:53 > 0:36:54Heart of gold.
0:36:56 > 0:36:59You want to see Andrea now? You'd like to play with Auntie Andrea?
0:37:01 > 0:37:02I absolutely adore Stan.
0:37:02 > 0:37:06When he first told me he was going to marry Andrea,
0:37:06 > 0:37:09couldn't have been any prouder than I am.
0:37:09 > 0:37:12And everything that he's gone through, well,
0:37:12 > 0:37:14I just love him to bits.
0:37:14 > 0:37:19The accident was horrendous and I know, you know,
0:37:19 > 0:37:22we didn't think Stan was going to pull through.
0:37:22 > 0:37:25One day when they were moving him to the brain injury unit,
0:37:25 > 0:37:27and I was holding his hand,
0:37:27 > 0:37:30he had his eyes open, because his eyes kept opening
0:37:30 > 0:37:34and his eyes opened, and he looked straight at me
0:37:34 > 0:37:37and I said to him, I just went "Don't be scared."
0:37:37 > 0:37:40I said, "I know where you are is dark, and you're scared,
0:37:40 > 0:37:44"but don't be scared, just come back to us."
0:37:44 > 0:37:49"They're giving up on you. I won't give up on you as long as you come back."
0:37:49 > 0:37:51Andrea, she just found the inner strength
0:37:51 > 0:37:54and carried on and carried on.
0:37:54 > 0:37:56She was determined she wasn't going to lose Stan.
0:37:56 > 0:37:59To see him progress from not being able to move them arms,
0:37:59 > 0:38:02told him he'd never use that arm again, and to be able to
0:38:02 > 0:38:04use that arm again, moved the arm,
0:38:04 > 0:38:06now he's walking again,
0:38:06 > 0:38:09he's talking good - it's just amazing, if I'm honest with you.
0:38:09 > 0:38:12It's just touched me, touched my heart. He's a legend.
0:38:12 > 0:38:16- I always say he's a legend, but he is a legend. - He always calls you a legend!
0:38:16 > 0:38:18If they go, I think it will have
0:38:18 > 0:38:21an impact on quite a lot of their family and friends,
0:38:21 > 0:38:23because I think they, they're loved by everybody,
0:38:23 > 0:38:25to be honest.
0:38:25 > 0:38:29I am sure you'll make the right decision, no matter what that is.
0:38:29 > 0:38:32You know you're loved unconditionally.
0:38:32 > 0:38:34We will miss you both.
0:38:34 > 0:38:36Love you.
0:38:36 > 0:38:38I want you to do the best for you.
0:38:38 > 0:38:41If this is what you want to do and this is what you want to be,
0:38:41 > 0:38:43then go for it.
0:38:44 > 0:38:46It's just very difficult.
0:38:47 > 0:38:50You know, she's not going to be just up the road,
0:38:50 > 0:38:51she's going to be miles away.
0:38:57 > 0:39:01I just want her to be happy, and Stan to be happy.
0:39:01 > 0:39:02But...
0:39:04 > 0:39:06I don't want them to go that far away.
0:39:22 > 0:39:24That was worse than I thought.
0:39:24 > 0:39:28Just seeing how much they're hurting.
0:39:28 > 0:39:32All because I want to move to the other side of the world,
0:39:32 > 0:39:34and I feel quite selfish for that.
0:39:34 > 0:39:38- The most difficult part was actually seeing my sister.- Mm.
0:39:40 > 0:39:43She's so strong, isn't she?
0:39:43 > 0:39:47It's just really bad for her, the accident, I reckon,
0:39:47 > 0:39:52how all the family and my friends all pulled together, regardless
0:39:52 > 0:39:57and, you know, it's hard to see that they're upset.
0:39:58 > 0:40:02I don't think you fully comprehend the impact that you have.
0:40:02 > 0:40:07I don't think you can, because if you did, nobody would ever move.
0:40:07 > 0:40:09Nobody would ever move.
0:40:09 > 0:40:12Watching messages from loved ones
0:40:12 > 0:40:15was a heartbreaking experience for Andrea and Stan.
0:40:15 > 0:40:20So as the potentially life-changing final decision draws closer,
0:40:20 > 0:40:22will the reality of having to say goodbye
0:40:22 > 0:40:25derail their plans for a new beginning?
0:40:30 > 0:40:32You know, we've been humbled, well,
0:40:32 > 0:40:36I've been humbled by the whole experience and the fact that
0:40:36 > 0:40:39I can say, in fact, this is actually what I can offer you.
0:40:39 > 0:40:42And that will help you progress and get his dreams as well,
0:40:42 > 0:40:45because his dreams are just as important as mine.
0:40:45 > 0:40:48I love Andrea so much that, you know, that
0:40:48 > 0:40:51if she's happy, I'm happy.
0:40:51 > 0:40:54The week has offered the couple a glimpse of what they could gain -
0:40:54 > 0:40:55and lose.
0:40:55 > 0:40:59I particularly enjoyed the going on the motorbikes.
0:41:00 > 0:41:03Because obviously, it's the motorbike
0:41:03 > 0:41:05that put me in this place
0:41:05 > 0:41:09and I've always been taught, you know,
0:41:09 > 0:41:11if you're scared of anything,
0:41:11 > 0:41:14it's always boss of you.
0:41:14 > 0:41:16To be on a motorbike,
0:41:16 > 0:41:22it's closer to that dream, you know, of beating that boss, really.
0:41:22 > 0:41:29My heart and head are arguing about where to go, if I'm honest. Erm...
0:41:31 > 0:41:35And it's really hard, because I'm really conflicted.
0:41:35 > 0:41:39I was like, yes, I know this, yes, I know this, yes, I know this,
0:41:39 > 0:41:41about where my vote's going to go,
0:41:41 > 0:41:45but it is actually really conflicted, it's kind of torn.
0:41:50 > 0:41:53So, will the final turn of the cards
0:41:53 > 0:41:57see Andrea and Stan choose life in the UK or Australia?
0:41:57 > 0:42:01OK, so we've had a really fantastic time this week in Brisbane.
0:42:01 > 0:42:03We've experienced some amazing things,
0:42:03 > 0:42:06we've seen some amazing sights,
0:42:06 > 0:42:09but now it's time for our final vote.
0:42:09 > 0:42:12- You ready?- Oh, yes, I'm ready.
0:42:23 > 0:42:25- BOTH:- Australia!
0:42:25 > 0:42:30This week, oh! Wow, It's just blown my mind, actually.
0:42:30 > 0:42:33It's opened my eyes to some new ideas,
0:42:33 > 0:42:35new things that we could do together.
0:42:35 > 0:42:38Yes, it's definitely surpassed my expectations.
0:42:38 > 0:42:40The future's bright and sunny.
0:42:40 > 0:42:42Future's looking good. Yeah.
0:42:42 > 0:42:45You know, have a healthier lifestyle.
0:42:45 > 0:42:48Hopefully, you know, we'd do well, moneywise
0:42:48 > 0:42:53and, you know, we'd have a better life financially as well.
0:42:53 > 0:42:55You never know, I might actually get a tan!
0:43:02 > 0:43:06It looks like Andrea and Stan's dream could really come true.
0:43:06 > 0:43:09It's been a tough journey for the couple
0:43:09 > 0:43:11and we wish them all the very best
0:43:11 > 0:43:14as they set off on the road to their new future.
