0:04:45 > 0:04:47Nick, how we doing, pal?
0:04:47 > 0:04:51- All right. Nothing I can do, really.- Not to worry, pal.
0:04:51 > 0:04:53I just wish I had feeling in my body and I could move.
0:04:53 > 0:04:56No, don't be daft, mate, we'll get you all squared away, mate.
0:04:56 > 0:04:59- Nick, what I'm going to do is pop a bit of oxygen on, pal.- Right.
0:04:59 > 0:05:02It's just until we get you to hospital, OK?
0:05:02 > 0:05:06Just a wee bit of fresh air, mate, just smells a bit funny.
0:05:06 > 0:05:09James knows his dad is also worried.

0:05:18 > 0:05:22I won't be that far behind you, you'll get there quicker than me.

0:05:25 > 0:05:28- Thanks.- All right. We'll see you soon.
0:05:28 > 0:05:31- Clear right, clear of the trees. - Cheers.
0:05:31 > 0:05:33Clear left.
0:05:33 > 0:05:37It's a short flight to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.
0:05:37 > 0:05:40What started out as a family ride out on his bike
0:05:40 > 0:05:45has ended in potentially life-changing injuries.
0:05:52 > 0:05:55The people who are most likely to become patients
0:05:55 > 0:05:59of the air ambulance are always among its biggest fundraisers.
0:05:59 > 0:06:02None more so than those who love to ride horses.
0:06:05 > 0:06:08It's payback time for Yorkshire's amateur jockeys.
0:06:08 > 0:06:11Today they're taking part in a point-to-point race
0:06:11 > 0:06:13to raise money for the Helimed team.
0:06:13 > 0:06:16Please, if you've got a very tired horse out in the country,
0:06:16 > 0:06:18we don't want to see the head pushed off 'em.
0:06:18 > 0:06:21For organisers like Bob Woodhouse,
0:06:21 > 0:06:24it's a cause close to his heart, for good reason.
0:06:26 > 0:06:29We are travelling just east of Malton,
0:06:29 > 0:06:32which is North Yorkshire, where somebody has fallen off a horse
0:06:32 > 0:06:36and we believe they've been crushed by the horse, from the fall.
0:06:36 > 0:06:40- Good morning, you all right? - A 64-year-old gentleman...
0:06:40 > 0:06:43Bob is badly hurt. He was riding one of his horses
0:06:43 > 0:06:45on the family farm when it shied,
0:06:45 > 0:06:48- fell and crushed him.- Hiya, Bob.
0:06:48 > 0:06:51- The horse has reared up, he's come off the back of it.- All right.
0:06:51 > 0:06:54It landed almost here, but the horse landed on top of him.
0:06:54 > 0:06:56Landed mainly across here
0:06:56 > 0:06:59and in the saddle's dug right into his groin here.
0:06:59 > 0:07:01- That's where I hurt.- Right, OK.
0:07:01 > 0:07:03We were phoning the bank, because we've just moved in,
0:07:03 > 0:07:06emptying boxes and things and we heard these screams and shouts
0:07:06 > 0:07:08and my daughter and I ran over here,
0:07:08 > 0:07:12to see if we could help. At first we thought we could pull the horse off
0:07:12 > 0:07:14because the horse was still on top of him,
0:07:14 > 0:07:18but then, we just got the phone and rang the ambulance.
0:07:18 > 0:07:22When he landed... Like, normally,
0:07:22 > 0:07:25you think they're going to get up off you, but he was laid on me.
0:07:25 > 0:07:29You know when you're winded, how all the wind is out of you...
0:07:29 > 0:07:32He's got on the horse and he's just gone to walk away
0:07:32 > 0:07:36from the stables and he's gone to tighten it's girth up
0:07:36 > 0:07:40and it just reared up, run backwards and flipped itself over
0:07:40 > 0:07:42and just laid on him.
0:07:42 > 0:07:44Bob has no visible signs of injury,
0:07:44 > 0:07:47but crash victims can suffer multiple fractures
0:07:47 > 0:07:50and internal bleeding.
0:07:50 > 0:07:54Keep going with that gas, Bob, because once it wears off, you'll be back to square one again.
0:07:54 > 0:07:58You're better to keep taking it, because it does wear off quick.
0:07:58 > 0:08:01- I've got pins and needles down my leg.- OK.
0:08:01 > 0:08:05It could be the way you're laid and also because you've hurt your groin,
0:08:05 > 0:08:09you're probably holding yourself stiff to protect what's hurting.
0:08:09 > 0:08:11We'll get you some pain relief in
0:08:11 > 0:08:14and we're going to pop a little brace around your hips, OK?
0:08:14 > 0:08:16No, no, you're all right.
0:08:16 > 0:08:19Bob has a suspected fractured pelvis,
0:08:19 > 0:08:21but he is refusing more pain relief.
0:08:21 > 0:08:23You don't want some pain relief, why what's wrong?
0:08:23 > 0:08:25No, I'm all right, don't give me pain relief.
0:08:25 > 0:08:28- For what reason? - I want to feel what's wrong with me.
0:08:28 > 0:08:31You don't have to, that's what I'm trying to say.
0:08:31 > 0:08:37He's a tough guy, like, he won't take painkillers. He can deal with pain.
0:08:37 > 0:08:40The only reason I'm thinking, because when we start moving you
0:08:40 > 0:08:43and putting you on this board, we can make you sort of pain-free,
0:08:43 > 0:08:46comfortable, but you need to let us give it to you.
0:08:46 > 0:08:49- Obviously I can't, if you tell me you don't.- All right.
0:08:49 > 0:08:53It works quick...
0:08:53 > 0:08:57Bob finally decides to have morphine, to relieve the pain.
0:08:57 > 0:09:01Once it takes effect, the team can conduct a full assessment
0:09:01 > 0:09:05of his injuries and prepare him for flight.
0:09:05 > 0:09:08Right, while we've got that exposed, take a big deep breath in for me.
0:09:08 > 0:09:11BOB INHALES AND EXHALES
0:09:11 > 0:09:14Bob could well have a back injury,
0:09:14 > 0:09:17so they need to fit a brace to his neck.
0:09:17 > 0:09:19So, we'll treat everything for the worst
0:09:19 > 0:09:21and hopefully it'll not be required.
0:09:21 > 0:09:25My dad's chairman of the Yorkshire Point-to-Point Association,
0:09:25 > 0:09:29and every year, they raise money for the air ambulance
0:09:29 > 0:09:33as one of their main charity beneficiaries,
0:09:33 > 0:09:35now he's getting a bit of benefit from it!
0:09:35 > 0:09:39Bob's years of fundraising for the air ambulance is paying off,
0:09:39 > 0:09:42because without this chopper, it would be a very long
0:09:42 > 0:09:44and uncomfortable ride by road to hospital.
0:09:44 > 0:09:46It's really the time factor.
0:09:46 > 0:09:49We've got a lot of bumpy roads round the countryside as well,
0:09:49 > 0:09:52so it'd be more comfortable for Bob, rather than going over the bumps.
0:09:52 > 0:09:55We've got about 40 minutes or so, driving to hospital from here,
0:09:55 > 0:10:00the helicopter can do it in probably ten minutes or so, I'm guessing.
0:10:00 > 0:10:03It's going to be better for Bob. The quicker he gets there, the quicker he gets X-rays,
0:10:03 > 0:10:05the quicker he gets definitive treatment.
0:10:07 > 0:10:10It'll be some time before Bob's back on the saddle.
0:10:10 > 0:10:13His injuries are serious. They include multiple fractures
0:10:13 > 0:10:16to his pelvis. He's laid up for months.
0:10:24 > 0:10:27But by the time this year's fundraising race comes round,
0:10:27 > 0:10:30Bob's back in form and he's determined to play his part
0:10:30 > 0:10:33in making sure today's point-to-point pays out
0:10:33 > 0:10:37for the air ambulance that raced to his aid that day.
0:10:37 > 0:10:41I was sat on him, waiting for my son to come out of the stable
0:10:41 > 0:10:45with the other horse and all of a sudden, he put his head down,
0:10:45 > 0:10:50shook his head and then he ran backwards for about 20 yards,
0:10:50 > 0:10:53as fast as he could and just flipped straight over on top of me.
0:10:53 > 0:10:55He didn't give me a chance.
0:10:55 > 0:10:57Never worked out the reason why he did it.
0:10:57 > 0:11:01He had a bit of a temperament problem, probably that was it,
0:11:01 > 0:11:04but it wasn't very nice on the day.
0:11:06 > 0:11:11He actually laid on me for ages, 30 seconds something like that,
0:11:11 > 0:11:14and I knew then, when I was laid there,
0:11:14 > 0:11:19that I couldn't feel my legs and I thought something was serious here.
0:11:22 > 0:11:26Bob's injuries were far worse than first thought.
0:11:26 > 0:11:29Well, my pelvis was basically smashed.
0:11:29 > 0:11:32It was broke in three places
0:11:32 > 0:11:37and a part of my pelvis bone had dropped because of the way it broke.
0:11:37 > 0:11:41I wasn't very good for about three weeks!
0:11:46 > 0:11:48I would say that I'm 100% fit now,
0:11:48 > 0:11:52I'm actually back riding horse, which is a thing,
0:11:52 > 0:11:55when I was laid in hospital, I didn't think I would be able to do.
0:11:55 > 0:11:59I don't think I'll be breaking any more young horses in.
0:11:59 > 0:12:01These point-to-point races raise thousands
0:12:01 > 0:12:03for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance each year
0:12:03 > 0:12:07and it's a cause now even closer to Bob's heart.
0:12:17 > 0:12:20From car crashes, to hikers with broken ankles
0:12:20 > 0:12:23or fallen horse riders, many of the Helimed team's cases
0:12:23 > 0:12:25are almost routine.
0:12:25 > 0:12:31But sometimes, a bizarre accident comes the paramedics' way.
0:12:31 > 0:12:33With years of medical service under their belts,
0:12:33 > 0:12:36paramedics Dave Appleby and Pete Vallance
0:12:36 > 0:12:40are not easily surprised, but today's mission sounds unusual.
0:12:40 > 0:12:43We've had reports of a male and a female
0:12:43 > 0:12:45who've fallen from a 12-foot wall.
0:12:45 > 0:12:47We're not sure of any other details at the moment,
0:12:47 > 0:12:51but we're told that we're going for the male person
0:12:51 > 0:12:56who appears to have spinal injuries and damage to his pelvis.
0:12:56 > 0:12:59The two casualties are in Hawes,
0:12:59 > 0:13:02a popular location for hikers and climbers.
0:13:02 > 0:13:06Helimed 98 has been here many times before.
0:13:06 > 0:13:08Not a huge number of choices around here, is there?
0:13:08 > 0:13:10They normally come through that gate,
0:13:10 > 0:13:14- so that's access for ambulances. - Okily-dokily.
0:13:14 > 0:13:17The couple are Graham Scott and Claire Alderson.
0:13:17 > 0:13:20These lovebirds were fooling around near a wall
0:13:20 > 0:13:22at the top of the bank when they fell.
0:13:22 > 0:13:26Luckily, paramedics have been joined by Swaledale Mountain Rescue.
0:13:26 > 0:13:28- Two people sat on the wall...- Right.
0:13:28 > 0:13:30And they've literally knocked each other off.
0:13:30 > 0:13:34One's fallen onto the other and one has got a lower leg injury,
0:13:34 > 0:13:37the other is more serious. They're looking at that at the moment.
0:13:37 > 0:13:40We've got an extra patient route out and back round...
0:13:40 > 0:13:43Do you know if they've used a board on them yet?
0:13:43 > 0:13:48Getting Graham and Claire to safety is going to be a challenge.
0:13:48 > 0:13:52So, the route you've planned, you'll be to get them out on a board, yeah?
0:13:52 > 0:13:57- Hello.- Hi, guys.
0:13:57 > 0:14:01Land ambulance crews, as well as the fire brigade are also on scene.
0:14:01 > 0:14:03Getting the couple back up this slope
0:14:03 > 0:14:06will require every pair of available hands.
0:14:06 > 0:14:08Is that the best way to come down?
0:14:08 > 0:14:12He's got himself in a right position there, hasn't he?
0:14:12 > 0:14:15He was dangling his girlfriend over and they both come over.
0:14:15 > 0:14:17He came bouncing down here and smashed his spine.
0:14:17 > 0:14:20He's got no pins and needles or neurological difficulties,
0:14:20 > 0:14:23but he's got quite a lot of tenderness around the spine itself.
0:14:23 > 0:14:26Right. The lumbar area.
0:14:26 > 0:14:30Graham is not only red-faced, but he's also got a few more injuries
0:14:30 > 0:14:32after he tumbled down the hill and hit a tree.
0:14:32 > 0:14:34We've got potential there for causing
0:14:34 > 0:14:37significant injury falling down.
0:14:37 > 0:14:39It's quite a rocky bank, as well.
0:14:39 > 0:14:41It's not something you come across every day,
0:14:41 > 0:14:45particularly for the fact there's two casualties down there as well,
0:14:45 > 0:14:47rather than one.
0:14:47 > 0:14:52So, yeah, I suppose they're lucky that the bank wasn't any longer
0:14:52 > 0:14:55and that they were in a position where people actually seen them,
0:14:55 > 0:14:58witnessed the fall, otherwise it could have been a lot worse
0:14:58 > 0:15:01than it looks to have turned out.
0:15:01 > 0:15:05My partner picked me up and jokingly hung me over the wall
0:15:05 > 0:15:09and then we both went over somehow.
0:15:09 > 0:15:12When we get him down to the bottom, we'll put him on the ground again,
0:15:12 > 0:15:14just till we get ourselves organised.
0:15:14 > 0:15:16You go back to the wall and we'll put him straight down.
0:15:16 > 0:15:20The Swaledale Mountain Rescue team is made up of volunteers
0:15:20 > 0:15:24and working in this type of terrain, they never know what's coming next.
0:15:24 > 0:15:27The stretcher's out at the end there.
0:15:27 > 0:15:30Slow as you want, lads.
0:15:30 > 0:15:33You come across all sorts, you'd be surprised how unusual they get.
0:15:33 > 0:15:37Falling off a wall, that's one of the worst ones.
0:15:37 > 0:15:39Lower leg injuries.
0:15:39 > 0:15:44We've got a possible spinal injury as well.
0:15:44 > 0:15:47- Everybody all right?- Yeah.- Yeah.
0:15:47 > 0:15:49While Graham is transported to the helicopter,
0:15:49 > 0:15:53the mountain rescue team will now get Claire to the ambulance.
0:15:53 > 0:15:55- Hiya. You all right? - Hello there.
0:15:55 > 0:15:59It's Dave, I'm one of the paramedics with the air ambulance.
0:15:59 > 0:16:00Hiya.
0:16:00 > 0:16:05Just to let you know that we're bringing a 35-year-old gentleman in,
0:16:05 > 0:16:08who's fallen off a wall down a steep embankment.
0:16:08 > 0:16:10We heard very little about the story,
0:16:10 > 0:16:14but it does seem quite an unusual job.
0:16:14 > 0:16:16From our point of view, the end task is exactly the same,
0:16:16 > 0:16:20it's somebody in a difficult location that needs treatment and extraction.
0:16:20 > 0:16:21Clear left down there.
0:16:21 > 0:16:25The roads around the town of Hawes are winding and sometimes uneven.
0:16:25 > 0:16:28Graham's injuries are potentially serious,
0:16:28 > 0:16:31so he's been flown for treatment.
0:16:31 > 0:16:33The couple is taken to hospital in Harrogate.
0:16:33 > 0:16:36Claire is allowed home at the end of the day,
0:16:36 > 0:16:39but Graham is kept in for observation.
0:16:39 > 0:16:41For the next week, the couple find
0:16:41 > 0:16:44they're the talk of the Dales after their accident
0:16:44 > 0:16:48is featured in the local paper, it's picked up by the tabloids
0:16:48 > 0:16:51and it's a while before they're happy to relive the day
0:16:51 > 0:16:55they fell for each other in entirely the wrong way.
0:16:55 > 0:16:57We're on the way home from shopping,
0:16:57 > 0:16:59we got up here and she decided to call us 'Fatty'.
0:16:59 > 0:17:02I said, "Right, I'm going to chuck you over that wall,"
0:17:02 > 0:17:04just as a joke, like a joke.
0:17:04 > 0:17:06I picked her up and as I got near the wall, I slipped
0:17:06 > 0:17:09and she tumbled down over the wall, had hold of my neck still,
0:17:09 > 0:17:12pulled me over at the same time and then rolled
0:17:12 > 0:17:15the rest of the way down into the tree, hit my spine off the tree.
0:17:15 > 0:17:19They both came over, he came bouncing down and he smashed his spine here.
0:17:19 > 0:17:22Graham suffered a long list of cuts and bruises to his back,
0:17:22 > 0:17:25legs, ribs and arms, but no broken bones.
0:17:25 > 0:17:29Claire chipped a bone in her ankle. Instead of receiving sympathy,
0:17:29 > 0:17:31the couple have become the subject of local gossip.
0:17:31 > 0:17:34Everyone's been calling us Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill...
0:17:34 > 0:17:37Jack and Jill, fell down the hill...
0:17:37 > 0:17:42It's a lesson in love the couple will never forget.
0:17:42 > 0:17:45I cried my eyes out, worried about Claire at the same time.
0:17:45 > 0:17:49In case anything had happened, because I didn't know what was going on with Claire.
0:17:49 > 0:17:52I just knew she'd hurt her foot and that was it, that's all I got told.
0:17:52 > 0:17:57- A thing never to do again.- Never. - Never pick her up near a wall.- No.
0:17:59 > 0:18:02Yorkshire's open countryside is the perfect training ground
0:18:02 > 0:18:04to the British Army.
0:18:04 > 0:18:06You will often see tanks and hear the crack of gunfire
0:18:06 > 0:18:10as soldiers prepare to be sent to war zones.
0:18:10 > 0:18:13But you don't have to be under fire to get hurt.
0:18:14 > 0:18:19There's snow on them there hills. Cold in them there hills.
0:18:19 > 0:18:23Helimed 98 is on its way to Queen Elizabeth Barracks in Strensall,
0:18:23 > 0:18:26near York. It's an Army training base.
0:18:26 > 0:18:30We've been tasked to a detail to the north of York.
0:18:30 > 0:18:34It's one of the Army bases in the area.
0:18:34 > 0:18:38There've been reports that a male has fallen
0:18:38 > 0:18:42approximately 20 foot through a roof. He's complaining of pain in his back.
0:18:42 > 0:18:44This is familiar terrain for paramedic Sam,
0:18:44 > 0:18:47who has toured Afghanistan with the TA.
0:18:47 > 0:18:51I know Strensall barracks, it's one of the main barracks
0:18:51 > 0:18:53for the Army medical services.
0:18:53 > 0:18:56So, I've done quite a lot of training there with the TA,
0:18:56 > 0:19:00and we did that on pre-deployment before Afghanistan last year,
0:19:00 > 0:19:02at the hospital trainer there,
0:19:02 > 0:19:07so I've spent many a happy weekend loitering in Strensall.
0:19:07 > 0:19:11Ah! I've got the ambulance, on the nose, see the woods? Tucked in.
0:19:11 > 0:19:16- Yeah.- On the nose. Right-hand side.
0:19:16 > 0:19:20Pilot Andy Lister, a Navy veteran, knows the sound of gunfire, too.
0:19:20 > 0:19:23You don't want to trust a medic with a pistol, mate.
0:19:23 > 0:19:26If you hear things cracking off the aeroplane, pull up.
0:19:26 > 0:19:29On the ground, they find a squaddie has fallen victim
0:19:29 > 0:19:33to the icy conditions and slipped from the top of a bunker
0:19:33 > 0:19:36- during a training exercise.- Hello.
0:19:36 > 0:19:38All right, mate.
0:19:38 > 0:19:45This is Carl. He's slipped off here, the top of here.
0:19:45 > 0:19:47Landed straight on his back.
0:19:47 > 0:19:52Instant pain, almost, just below his shoulder blades, centrally, all the way down
0:19:52 > 0:19:55to just above his coccyx. Eight out of ten, he scored it.
0:19:55 > 0:19:58All the obs we've done are fine.
0:19:58 > 0:20:02This soldier may be used to using guns, but his big fear is needles.
0:20:02 > 0:20:05A problem, as paramedics need to give him pain relief.
0:20:05 > 0:20:07If you're really, really afraid of needles.
0:20:07 > 0:20:10we can give you something called Oramorph.
0:20:10 > 0:20:12Basically, it's morphine, but you drink it.
0:20:12 > 0:20:14It's not quite as strong as the IV stuff.
0:20:14 > 0:20:15I'd rather drink it.
0:20:15 > 0:20:18You'd rather drink it? No worries.
0:20:18 > 0:20:20He's not got any neurological deficits,
0:20:20 > 0:20:24which basically means he's got no strange feelings or sensations
0:20:24 > 0:20:26in any of the extremities after the fall.
0:20:26 > 0:20:28But he is complaining of quite severe central back pain,
0:20:28 > 0:20:31so it could indicate he's got a fracture there somewhere.
0:20:31 > 0:20:35But we're not going to know until we've had him X-rayed at hospital.
0:20:35 > 0:20:36It's well below freezing,
0:20:36 > 0:20:39and the patient needs to be carried to the chopper quickly.
0:20:39 > 0:20:41There's no shortage of manpower.
0:20:41 > 0:20:43Right. On you, then, Mark.
0:20:45 > 0:20:47Lifting on three then. One, two, three.
0:20:50 > 0:20:53All right? Everybody at a comfortable height?
0:20:55 > 0:20:57His back pain could be something serious,
0:20:57 > 0:20:59but until it is properly X-rayed,
0:20:59 > 0:21:03it's vital to keep the patient as still as possible.
0:21:03 > 0:21:06Right guys, head towards the other lunatic in an orange suit,
0:21:06 > 0:21:09and then he'll tell you how to load on.
0:21:09 > 0:21:11We've been very fortunate.
0:21:11 > 0:21:14We've flown into the middle of a Royal Signals unit
0:21:14 > 0:21:16that are doing some range practice.
0:21:16 > 0:21:20So we've had plenty of lads to help us with the lifting and carrying.
0:21:20 > 0:21:22Just feed him in, guys.
0:21:22 > 0:21:23Nicely done.
0:21:23 > 0:21:25He's not in camouflage today,
0:21:25 > 0:21:29but paramedic Sam is only too pleased to help a fellow soldier.
0:21:29 > 0:21:32From the not so hostile terrain of North Yorkshire,
0:21:32 > 0:21:36to hospital in York will be a quick, five-minute flight,
0:21:36 > 0:21:38and after a thorough medical,
0:21:38 > 0:21:41this injured soldier will soon be back on duty.
0:21:45 > 0:21:48Teenagers are renowned for their willingness to take risks,
0:21:48 > 0:21:50not all of them sensible.
0:21:50 > 0:21:53And a dare can often lead to an accident.
0:21:55 > 0:21:58Helimed 99 is circling woods in South Yorkshire,
0:21:58 > 0:22:01where a schoolgirl has been injured in a serious fall.
0:22:03 > 0:22:06The RRV is query fractured pelvis and a fractured wrist.
0:22:08 > 0:22:11But finding their patient is proving difficult.
0:22:11 > 0:22:14I can't see any response cars out.
0:22:14 > 0:22:18Roger. Apparently, they've sent someone up in a blue T-shirt.
0:22:18 > 0:22:20I know it's going to be hard for you to spot the blue T-shirt,
0:22:20 > 0:22:24but that is someone that's been sent up to a field nearby. Over.
0:22:26 > 0:22:28Are you the chap we are looking for?
0:22:29 > 0:22:33The girl fell from this water pipe, into a stream.
0:22:33 > 0:22:35She has a suspected broken arm,
0:22:35 > 0:22:38but local paramedics fear she could have other, more serious injuries.
0:22:38 > 0:22:42So, the reason I asked for you guys, obviously, was the situation.
0:22:42 > 0:22:44We don't have any crews available at all.
0:22:44 > 0:22:46Initially with the pelvic, I was concerned about that.
0:22:46 > 0:22:49Teenager Misha Robinson is in a lot of pain.
0:22:49 > 0:22:53There is no movement in the pelvis or anything like that.
0:22:53 > 0:22:56She was playing dare with her mates when she lost her balance.
0:22:56 > 0:23:00- So how have you landed on the floor? - I think I landed on my bum.
0:23:00 > 0:23:03You think you landed on your bum. OK.
0:23:03 > 0:23:05Misha landed in the river,
0:23:05 > 0:23:08but people living nearby soon heard her cries for help.
0:23:08 > 0:23:10Could hear her screaming.
0:23:10 > 0:23:13Luckily we were both in, we were both on the back garden,
0:23:13 > 0:23:17and as I say, I brought the paramedic round the woods,
0:23:17 > 0:23:18and as I say, we found her here.
0:23:21 > 0:23:22If you had to score it out of ten,
0:23:22 > 0:23:25ten being the worst pain you could imagine...
0:23:25 > 0:23:27Ten on my arm and seven on my back.
0:23:27 > 0:23:31- We'll give you a bit of oxygen, see if we can get another needle in.- No!
0:23:31 > 0:23:34Before paramedics can move Misha, she needs pain relief,
0:23:34 > 0:23:36but she is frightened of needles.
0:23:36 > 0:23:40- If you say you really don't want it. - I don't want it.- That's fine.
0:23:40 > 0:23:42Got some help, Tony.
0:23:42 > 0:23:46The team is concerned Misha may have injured her back in the fall.
0:23:46 > 0:23:49She'll be strapped to a spinal stretcher, as a precaution.
0:23:49 > 0:23:52Right, so just going to give you a couple of mls, which is not a lot.
0:23:52 > 0:23:53So you just pop that in your mouth.
0:23:53 > 0:23:55And there's needle-free pain relief.
0:23:55 > 0:23:59It's going to have to take effect, before they can move Misha.
0:23:59 > 0:24:02- So which wrist is hurting, sweetheart?- This one.
0:24:02 > 0:24:05Let's have a quick look at it.
0:24:05 > 0:24:08- Oh, it hurts.- It's hurting a lot, is it?- Yes.
0:24:08 > 0:24:11Trouble is, as soon as you touch it, she's in agony.
0:24:11 > 0:24:13So, shall we give you a few breaths of this, gas and air,
0:24:13 > 0:24:15while I put this splint on?
0:24:15 > 0:24:19Misha's being given Entonox, pain-killing gas.
0:24:19 > 0:24:22You keep doing that. You can't take too much of it.
0:24:22 > 0:24:24It's a modern version of laughing gas.
0:24:24 > 0:24:27I'm just going to lift your hand up slightly.
0:24:27 > 0:24:30And Misha shows why.
0:24:30 > 0:24:31I was looking for some leaves.
0:24:31 > 0:24:33That's it, leaves and frogs and stuff.
0:24:33 > 0:24:36She's soon giggling through the pain of her broken wrist.
0:24:36 > 0:24:39Now, it's important that you try and help us, right.
0:24:39 > 0:24:42Us lot are going to move you, OK, so you just sit here.
0:24:42 > 0:24:45Shortly, you're going to feel a board coming behind your back,
0:24:45 > 0:24:47- and we're just going to lay you down on this board.- OK.
0:24:47 > 0:24:49What we're going to do, Misha, is lay you back
0:24:49 > 0:24:51- gently on to this board behind you, all right?- OK.
0:24:51 > 0:24:53OK. Just try and relax as best you can.
0:24:53 > 0:24:56- You'll feel a bump under your back, but don't worry.- OK.
0:24:56 > 0:24:59Just relax. There we go.
0:24:59 > 0:25:02Ready, steady, slide.
0:25:02 > 0:25:06Extra safety equipment is needed to get her out of the woodland safely.
0:25:06 > 0:25:09All I'm doing at the moment is putting a safely line on,
0:25:09 > 0:25:11that we've put on to the stretcher,
0:25:11 > 0:25:14so as they are carrying the patient up the bankment,
0:25:14 > 0:25:20if they slip or fall, then the patient's not going to go back down.
0:25:20 > 0:25:23Members of the Ambulance Services HART team,
0:25:23 > 0:25:25experts in technical rescue,
0:25:25 > 0:25:28have been called in to haul Misha to safety.
0:25:28 > 0:25:31No life-threatening injuries from what we can see.
0:25:31 > 0:25:33Obviously, it's been a bad location,
0:25:33 > 0:25:36to extricate her back up to the aircraft.
0:25:36 > 0:25:39We're only four miles away from Sheffield Children's Hospital,
0:25:39 > 0:25:43by air, which is obviously quite quick by road as well.
0:25:43 > 0:25:46So what we've decided is to let Misha go by land ambulance,
0:25:46 > 0:25:49and then that frees us up for any other jobs.
0:25:49 > 0:25:52Misha is finally out of the woods.
0:25:52 > 0:25:55Thankfully, hospital doctors find no other injuries,
0:25:55 > 0:25:59but her accident leads to a summer in plaster, as her wrist heals.
0:26:08 > 0:26:11Seeing first hand what can happen at a serious accident
0:26:11 > 0:26:15gives the Helimed team a unique insight into the risks
0:26:15 > 0:26:18many of us take every day to get from A to B.
0:26:18 > 0:26:23So it is perhaps surprising that some of the paramedics are keen motorcyclists.
0:26:26 > 0:26:28It's a Sunday afternoon,
0:26:28 > 0:26:33and a motorcyclist has come off her bike on the A64 York bypass.
0:26:33 > 0:26:36We're just wondering if it would be possible, could you get in touch
0:26:36 > 0:26:39with the police and get them to shut the carriageway?
0:26:39 > 0:26:41Roger, will do.
0:26:41 > 0:26:44Pilot Mark Griffith needs to put Helimed 99 down
0:26:44 > 0:26:48on the dual carriageway, but traffic is still flowing on one side.
0:26:48 > 0:26:52Both carriageways are running at a stop there, the traffic.
0:26:52 > 0:26:54Ah, yes. I see it there. Spotted, yes.
0:26:55 > 0:26:58Paramedic Sam Burgess is a keen biker himself,
0:26:58 > 0:27:01and dreads this sort of emergency call.
0:27:01 > 0:27:04I try not to think about it too much at the time,
0:27:04 > 0:27:07but when you think about it later on, in the cold light of day,
0:27:07 > 0:27:10then, yeah, it does make you worry a little bit.
0:27:10 > 0:27:11It's never going to end well,
0:27:11 > 0:27:14when you're hitting concrete at whatever speed you're going,
0:27:14 > 0:27:17and unfortunately, the stretch of road that this has happened on,
0:27:17 > 0:27:20it's part of the A64, so it's quite a high speed limit.
0:27:20 > 0:27:23If it's all right with you Mark, I'm not going to wait until we shut down.
0:27:23 > 0:27:26- I'm just going to leg it across. - Yeah, no problem at all.
0:27:28 > 0:27:32The female motorcyclist is in a very serious condition.
0:27:34 > 0:27:37Mark can't wait for the carriageway to be closed.
0:27:38 > 0:27:42So he drops Sam and second paramedic Lee Davison nearby.
0:27:42 > 0:27:44You all right, mate? Hello, love.
0:27:45 > 0:27:46This is Mandy.
0:27:46 > 0:27:48Hello, Mandy.
0:27:48 > 0:27:49Believed to be a solo rider.
0:27:49 > 0:27:52Right, Mandy, just relax this arm for me, sweetheart.
0:27:54 > 0:27:56Mandy Plum was riding in the middle lane,
0:27:56 > 0:27:59when she hit the central reservation.
0:28:00 > 0:28:03She is unaware she has lost her foot.
0:28:03 > 0:28:05If we can find it, then we'll take it with us.
0:28:05 > 0:28:08One passer-by happens to work at the local hospital,
0:28:08 > 0:28:09so she's helping out.
0:28:09 > 0:28:12Her mother saw what happened.
0:28:12 > 0:28:15My daughter works at Scarborough Hospital, so she knows what to do,
0:28:15 > 0:28:18so just tried to assist and cover her leg up.
0:28:20 > 0:28:22Her foot was completely off.
0:28:22 > 0:28:24She was complaining her leg was really sore, really sore,
0:28:24 > 0:28:28so what I have done, I've wrapped it up in my coat to keep it clean,
0:28:28 > 0:28:31until the first-aiders came, the ambulance and everything.
0:28:31 > 0:28:33My right leg's dead.
0:28:33 > 0:28:36It's all right sweetheart, don't worry, they've popped a tourniquet on it
0:28:36 > 0:28:39because there was a bit of bleeding down there,
0:28:39 > 0:28:43so we just want to get that under control, all right?
0:28:43 > 0:28:46- RADIO:- Can you see there should be a rolling road block put into place,
0:28:46 > 0:28:49coming down from the Scarborough side? Can you see that?
0:28:51 > 0:28:53Not just yet, but I'll let you know when I do.
0:28:55 > 0:28:57The air ambulance needs to touch down,
0:28:57 > 0:29:00but there's too much traffic around.
0:29:00 > 0:29:03I just need them to shut this carriageway, just on that car there,
0:29:03 > 0:29:06that's all, just till we get aircraft on.
0:29:06 > 0:29:08Even if you go to the end and stop it.
0:29:09 > 0:29:11We've just had a problem getting a road block in,
0:29:11 > 0:29:13to be able to get the aircraft to land.
0:29:13 > 0:29:16It's just a priority we try to get the aircraft near to where we are.
0:29:16 > 0:29:21We don't want another accident happening if we're landing, and there's still traffic going.
0:29:21 > 0:29:24So we're going to wait for the police to put this road block in,
0:29:24 > 0:29:26land on, put the patient on and fly them to Leeds.
0:29:26 > 0:29:29Mandy, how bad's that pain, sweetheart?
0:29:29 > 0:29:32Just my leg, from my knee downwards.
0:29:32 > 0:29:34- Is it just that right leg?- Yeah.
0:29:34 > 0:29:38OK. How bad is it on scale of 0 to 10? How bad is it?
0:29:38 > 0:29:41- It's 10 or 11. - About a 10 or 11.
0:29:41 > 0:29:43OK, let's us get you something for the pain.
0:29:43 > 0:29:47Mandy hit the central barrier 70 metres from where she was found,
0:29:47 > 0:29:52and her bike stopped 300 metres further down the road.
0:29:52 > 0:29:56Officers find Mandy's biker boots, but cannot find her missing foot.
0:29:59 > 0:30:02Mandy's husband is not injured, but is in shock.
0:30:02 > 0:30:05We're you going somewhere nice on your bike?
0:30:07 > 0:30:12Is this LGI A&E? We've got a 52-year-old female motorcyclist.
0:30:12 > 0:30:18Injuries, she has got an amputated right foot,
0:30:18 > 0:30:21and some lacerations to her right arm,
0:30:21 > 0:30:23nothing else-based obvious detected.
0:30:23 > 0:30:26We will be with you about ten to.
0:30:26 > 0:30:29Where limbs have been amputated in an accident, there is
0:30:29 > 0:30:31a real risk of excessive blood loss.
0:30:31 > 0:30:35Everything is done to stem the bleeding and numb the pain.
0:30:35 > 0:30:37How's that pain in your leg now?
0:30:37 > 0:30:40- MANDY:- Still painful.- Still painful, is it?
0:30:40 > 0:30:43- It's dead and...- Just feels a bit numb, does it? OK.
0:30:50 > 0:30:52I guess it's just a vertical left straight out.
0:30:52 > 0:30:55OK, you are clear left, the traffic is stopped.
0:30:56 > 0:31:00Police officers have been unable to find the missing foot,
0:31:00 > 0:31:02but they will keep on searching.
0:31:02 > 0:31:05When people lose body parts you can reattach them
0:31:05 > 0:31:08within a certain amount of time of the injury, so that's why
0:31:08 > 0:31:11the police have shut the scene now and they're going to keep an eye
0:31:11 > 0:31:15out for it, so, keep fingers crossed that they find something.
0:31:15 > 0:31:19Helimed 99 bypasses the local hospital in York,
0:31:19 > 0:31:22and heads straight for Leeds General Infirmary.
0:31:22 > 0:31:24Surgeons are waiting for Mandy.
0:31:26 > 0:31:30But, her injuries are too serious for her foot to be reconstructed.
0:31:32 > 0:31:36Instead, her right leg is amputated below the knee.
0:31:36 > 0:31:41I were in the right-hand lane, and then suddenly a gust of wind
0:31:41 > 0:31:48just came across and, you know, drove me into the central barrier.
0:31:48 > 0:31:52In a few months, Mandy will be able to walk again.
0:31:52 > 0:31:54She will be fitted with a prosthetic leg.
0:31:54 > 0:31:57I haven't got to feel negative about anything.
0:31:57 > 0:32:00I've got to feel completely positive
0:32:00 > 0:32:03and I'm looking forward to practising with these prosthetic
0:32:03 > 0:32:08limbs and eventually getting one of my own, so I can walk again.
0:32:13 > 0:32:16Mandy, determined to make the most of life there.
0:32:16 > 0:32:19But what about motorcyclist, Nick Kane, who suffered
0:32:19 > 0:32:23suspected spinal injuries after a similar bike accident.
0:32:24 > 0:32:30Nick, you're normally fit and well, no asthma, no diabetes, no epilepsy?
0:32:30 > 0:32:33No problems with your heart in the past?
0:32:33 > 0:32:36In the next hour, Nick will find out the extent of his injuries.
0:32:36 > 0:32:39He can't feel anything from the chest down.
0:32:39 > 0:32:41Scans carried out by consultants
0:32:41 > 0:32:45here at the James Cook Hospital reveal his spinal cord is severed.
0:32:45 > 0:32:49This is how Nick will spend the rest of his life.
0:32:50 > 0:32:52It was just a typical Sunday afternoon ride,
0:32:52 > 0:32:57we were only planning to be out for a couple of hours, we'd been out,
0:32:57 > 0:33:01we'd filled up with fuel, we were on our way back, and this vehicle
0:33:01 > 0:33:06decided to overtake some stationary cars and head-on crash with Nicholas.
0:33:07 > 0:33:10Not a day goes by that I don't see it.
0:33:13 > 0:33:16I remember being laid on the floor, being told not to move,
0:33:16 > 0:33:19which, my reply was, "Well, I can't, I'm paralysed"
0:33:19 > 0:33:22I knew pretty much instantly I couldn't move,
0:33:22 > 0:33:24there was nothing there.
0:33:24 > 0:33:25I can't feel my legs.
0:33:25 > 0:33:29I then felt like about five seconds and there was an ambulance there,
0:33:29 > 0:33:32and the next thing I knew, I opened my eyes again
0:33:32 > 0:33:37and I was looking at the roof inside the air ambulance.
0:33:37 > 0:33:40I just kept coming in and out of consciousness.
0:33:40 > 0:33:45Then I woke up again in A&E with, I don't know,
0:33:45 > 0:33:48it felt like there were hundreds of people around me.
0:33:48 > 0:33:51He's fought hard to live and he's done it.
0:33:51 > 0:33:56We are on the up now, we are on the up and there is a life out there
0:33:56 > 0:33:59for Nick.
0:33:59 > 0:34:02You've got to keep a positive attitude, it's a day at a time.
0:34:02 > 0:34:06Every day is different. You find something new you can do every day.
0:34:07 > 0:34:12I'm sure his life will move on and he'll live a fulfilling life,
0:34:12 > 0:34:14albeit sat down.
0:34:14 > 0:34:16Yeah, I think that's the way we look at it,
0:34:16 > 0:34:19it's still Nick, he's just sat down.
0:34:19 > 0:34:23Nick and his family have not let this life-changing injury hold
0:34:23 > 0:34:26him back and he is now training for the region's wheelchair rugby team.
0:34:26 > 0:34:30We've had him home for nearly a month now, which is
0:34:30 > 0:34:34absolutely wonderful - it was a long, long time, that six months.
0:34:36 > 0:34:39Tonight, Nick has joined the Bulls, at Sedgefield, which is
0:34:39 > 0:34:44the North-East wheelchair rugby group and he comes up twice a week
0:34:44 > 0:34:48and practises with all the lads, which is excellent, socially
0:34:48 > 0:34:52and for his fitness, as well, because it will build his upper strength up.
0:34:55 > 0:34:58You get in here and it's the social side of it,
0:34:58 > 0:35:00all of the lads are in chairs, as well,
0:35:00 > 0:35:03so when you talk about stuff to them about what you're going through
0:35:03 > 0:35:06everyone's been through it once or twice already,
0:35:06 > 0:35:09so, it's brilliant being here.
0:35:11 > 0:35:14Life's very different now, very, very different,
0:35:14 > 0:35:19this has been a devastating situation for Nick and all of us in his family.
0:35:20 > 0:35:23The positive attitude is what has got us through,
0:35:23 > 0:35:25we have never once thought Nick cannot do.
0:35:26 > 0:35:28That's what gets you through it.
0:35:44 > 0:35:48Starting young hasn't done Bradley Wiggins or Andy Murray any harm,
0:35:48 > 0:35:52but there are some sports where 11 may be a little early.
0:35:55 > 0:35:59The Helimed team always has to be ready for a change of plan.
0:35:59 > 0:36:02Paramedics Tony Wilkes and Paul Kilner have just been
0:36:02 > 0:36:07stood down from one emergency call, now they're being sent on another.
0:36:07 > 0:36:10'I have got a different job for you, at Grange Moor,
0:36:10 > 0:36:16'which is out south of Mirfield,
0:36:16 > 0:36:18'an 11-year-old
0:36:18 > 0:36:22'off a quad bike into a tree and gone over a wall. Over.'
0:36:24 > 0:36:26- Did you get that, Tim?- No.
0:36:26 > 0:36:31We've been retasked to Mirfield, which is not far from here, I think.
0:36:31 > 0:36:33I'm just sticking it in now for you.
0:36:37 > 0:36:41In a remote field, a young girl has crashed her quad bike at high
0:36:41 > 0:36:46speed, throwing her over a wall and through a barbed wire fence.
0:36:46 > 0:36:50We were going too fast and then she flew round bend, hit the wall,
0:36:50 > 0:36:54over the barbed wire, and landed out on the lane, screaming.
0:36:55 > 0:36:58She stood up, with blood everywhere.
0:36:58 > 0:37:02Courtney's mum is on the phone to ambulance control and they can
0:37:02 > 0:37:06tell the helicopter crew exactly where they will find her.
0:37:06 > 0:37:10'The patient is near the red Mercedes van in the field, over.'
0:37:10 > 0:37:13From the air, this field isn't hard to find.
0:37:13 > 0:37:16It's right next to Yorkshire's tallest landmark.
0:37:16 > 0:37:21OK, so you've got every moor here, so, village, road...
0:37:21 > 0:37:23- So it's where them cornfields are.- Yes.
0:37:24 > 0:37:27Yeah, just take a right turn.
0:37:27 > 0:37:29A red van, is that what they said the patient was in?
0:37:29 > 0:37:31Yes, that will be the one.
0:37:35 > 0:37:39Courtney has managed to stagger back to her dad's van, but she is
0:37:39 > 0:37:40in a lot of pain.
0:37:40 > 0:37:44I couldn't turn, properly, like, it got jammed, and then I just
0:37:44 > 0:37:49crashed into the wall and I fell over the wall and I've cut myself.
0:37:49 > 0:37:52- Oh, dear, right...- She didn't put her helmet on just for that lap...
0:37:52 > 0:37:55- Did you have a helmet on?- No. - No, right.
0:37:55 > 0:37:57Try and keep your hand nice and still for us.
0:37:57 > 0:38:00I was going over the wall and then it crashed, and then
0:38:00 > 0:38:02I seen nettles,
0:38:02 > 0:38:04and then I seen my dad, and then he climbed over the wall.
0:38:04 > 0:38:07And did you get up straightaway, then?
0:38:07 > 0:38:11I tried to, but I couldn't get up.
0:38:11 > 0:38:13Were you trapped at all?
0:38:13 > 0:38:18No, I wasn't, but I couldn't get up because of the pain in my leg.
0:38:18 > 0:38:20She has been going round nearly all day
0:38:20 > 0:38:23and then we were just stood here,
0:38:23 > 0:38:26the next minute I heard a big bang, and the quad's on its side,
0:38:26 > 0:38:31and I ran over there as fast as I could, looked, "Where is she?"
0:38:31 > 0:38:34looked over the wall, she were over the wall, just getting up.
0:38:34 > 0:38:39I saw the blood here, and her hands were cleaner, so I told her to put
0:38:39 > 0:38:44her hand over the cut and hold it, and then we've walked back down here,
0:38:44 > 0:38:47and as she's walking, she said, "My leg's hurting, as well."
0:38:47 > 0:38:50You've closed your eyes, one moment, then. Let's have a little look.
0:38:50 > 0:38:53Keep your arm nice and still for us, darling.
0:38:53 > 0:38:55You're doing really, really well.
0:38:55 > 0:38:58Oh, yeah, that's it, I'll cover that back up again.
0:38:58 > 0:39:01But the force needed to throw Courtney over a five-foot wall,
0:39:01 > 0:39:05means Paul and Tony suspect she may have other, less obvious but,
0:39:05 > 0:39:08but potentially more serious injuries.
0:39:08 > 0:39:12She's got some lacerations from the barbed wire, no head injury,
0:39:12 > 0:39:15thankfully, but, our concern is as we have been treating her
0:39:15 > 0:39:19is her thigh, it looks like it may be swelling slightly.
0:39:19 > 0:39:23- Whereabouts is that pain, Courtney, just in here?- Yes.
0:39:23 > 0:39:26She has got lacerations there, but our main concern is that she
0:39:26 > 0:39:30may have fractured her femur, so the long bone in her leg, potentially.
0:39:30 > 0:39:33Right, darling, I'm just going to put that on here, right?
0:39:33 > 0:39:36We have just popped a little neck collar on basically, just because
0:39:36 > 0:39:39of what has occurred, she has been thrown over the top of that wall.
0:39:39 > 0:39:42She isn't complaining of any pain, she wasn't knocked out at all,
0:39:42 > 0:39:44but it's because of the mechanism of what's occurred,
0:39:44 > 0:39:47and it's a precautionary measure more than anything.
0:39:47 > 0:39:51Have you had a good day, then, apart from this? Yes?
0:39:51 > 0:39:53You haven't damaged the wall, have you?!
0:39:53 > 0:39:55SHE ATTEMPTS A LAUGH
0:39:55 > 0:39:58With so many cuts, there's a lot of bandaging to do.
0:39:58 > 0:40:01You will look like a mummy by the time we have dressed you up,
0:40:01 > 0:40:03with all this bandage.
0:40:03 > 0:40:07Courtney is clearly upset, but not just about her injuries.
0:40:07 > 0:40:10She's sorry for damaging the quad,
0:40:10 > 0:40:13but I'm not bothered about the quad to tell you the truth,
0:40:13 > 0:40:18that's all she kept saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," but hopefully she'll be all right.
0:40:20 > 0:40:22An ambulance has now arrived -
0:40:22 > 0:40:25extra help to get Courtney securely fastened to a spinal board.
0:40:25 > 0:40:30It will help to keep her perfectly still before she gets to hospital.
0:40:30 > 0:40:33For us to fly her, it would actually be quicker by land ambulance.
0:40:33 > 0:40:37She's just a couple of miles down the road, so hopefully she'll be all
0:40:37 > 0:40:39right, but there is potential that she has broken her femur,
0:40:39 > 0:40:41the long bone in her legs.
0:40:41 > 0:40:44And dad has promised a gift to cheer her up.
0:40:44 > 0:40:47He's promised you a ferret, hasn't it?
0:40:47 > 0:40:49Typical Yorkshire lass!
0:40:49 > 0:40:53Compared with a quad bike, ferret-keeping is a little safer.
0:40:53 > 0:40:57She has got a series of cuts, one of them quite deep,
0:40:57 > 0:41:00really, to the right side of her upper thigh.
0:41:00 > 0:41:03So, basically, what we have done is just dressed those up -
0:41:03 > 0:41:06she isn't complaining of any neck pain,
0:41:06 > 0:41:08but just for precaution, because of what's occurred,
0:41:08 > 0:41:12we've put a neck collar on her and put her on a spinal board.
0:41:12 > 0:41:15She wasn't knocked out, at all, so these are all good signs.
0:41:16 > 0:41:21Courtney spends nearly two weeks in hospital, having surgery on the
0:41:21 > 0:41:23open cuts to her legs, arms and stomach,
0:41:23 > 0:41:26but all the time she's dreaming about this.
0:41:30 > 0:41:34Her first chance to put the accident properly behind her.
0:41:34 > 0:41:37Today, I have been on my quad, I was going round,
0:41:37 > 0:41:41and it was the first time I had been on it since I fell off of it.
0:41:44 > 0:41:45Allowing her back on the
0:41:45 > 0:41:48quad has been a difficult decision for Courtney's mum,
0:41:48 > 0:41:53but it seems you just can't stop an adventurous youngster like her.
0:41:53 > 0:41:57We were quite nervous for her, but it's just one of them things -
0:41:57 > 0:42:00if she wants to get back on it, then fair be it, she can go back on it,
0:42:00 > 0:42:03but we'll not push her into anything that she doesn't
0:42:03 > 0:42:06want to do, we'll support her if she does want to do it.
0:42:06 > 0:42:10Because I haven't been on it for a while, it was really scary.
0:42:10 > 0:42:15I think with the what ifs and the what buts, it's just not worth
0:42:15 > 0:42:19thinking about, she took her helmet off just for the five minutes
0:42:19 > 0:42:23and accidents do happen from time to time, and I hope it's the last.
0:42:25 > 0:42:27And as you can see, Courtney
0:42:27 > 0:42:30and now has all the right gear for her high-speed hobby.
0:42:30 > 0:42:34Something the Helimed team wishes all quad bikers were equipped with.
