0:00:02 > 0:00:06Welcome to DIY SOS. This week, in Chippenham, me and this lot...

0:00:08 > 0:00:10Well, me, this lot,

0:00:10 > 0:00:15and this lot of big-hearted volunteers have just

0:00:15 > 0:00:19nine days to take a house apart and put it back together again.

0:00:19 > 0:00:22In order to bring a family back together again.

0:00:22 > 0:00:25LAUGHTER

0:00:25 > 0:00:29Yes, this is DIY SOS, The Big Build.

0:00:29 > 0:00:33- Oh...and me. - There's a shock!

0:00:40 > 0:00:45We're here to reunite the Jenkins family - Sue, Lois and Harry.

0:00:45 > 0:00:48Sue's eldest son, Jay, has been in hospital for the last year.

0:00:48 > 0:00:51He collapsed after suffering a traumatic brain injury

0:00:51 > 0:00:55whilst playing rugby for his school team in the spring of 2009.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57They came out to my car and said,

0:00:57 > 0:01:03"Oh, Sue, Jay's had a funny turn," so I drove my car across

0:01:03 > 0:01:07the front of the clubhouse and went into the changing room

0:01:07 > 0:01:10and he was on the floor, foam coming out of his mouth.

0:01:10 > 0:01:13I knew it was more than a funny turn.

0:01:13 > 0:01:18Jay was flown to hospital to have a blood clot removed from his brain.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21He survived the operation, but his condition was critical.

0:01:22 > 0:01:27They said he had a 1% chance of living for the first four weeks.

0:01:27 > 0:01:31He was totally life supported for the first week

0:01:31 > 0:01:35and, on the seventh day, they said I either turn off the life-support machine

0:01:35 > 0:01:40or give aggressive treatment and I went out to his bedside after that meeting.

0:01:41 > 0:01:45And I just put my hand on his right shoulder and said,

0:01:45 > 0:01:51"Jay, come on, you've got to get up and breathe, you've got to go out!" and he took his first breath.

0:01:51 > 0:01:55It was just like a bad dream and like, none of it was really real,

0:01:55 > 0:01:57and it was just so upsetting knowing

0:01:57 > 0:02:01that our brother could've died, but I'm so glad he didn't.

0:02:01 > 0:02:07The first couple of days, I just really wanted to wake up,

0:02:07 > 0:02:10because I thought I was asleep, but obviously not.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13We've always been a very close family.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16We always say we're the four Musketeers.

0:02:16 > 0:02:20I've been a single mum for 11 years now

0:02:20 > 0:02:23and we've always been very close. I mean, Jay, being the eldest,

0:02:23 > 0:02:28he was more like a father figure for Lois and Harry as well.

0:02:28 > 0:02:32So, for them, it's been quite a shock for them not having him around

0:02:32 > 0:02:34in that respect and for me, obviously,

0:02:34 > 0:02:39he was just so grown up and just a friend as well as a son,

0:02:39 > 0:02:40you know, which...

0:02:40 > 0:02:43(Don't cry.)

0:02:43 > 0:02:47Mum and Jay were just so close. He used to just come home from school

0:02:47 > 0:02:52and just crash on my mum's bed and just fall asleep talking to my mum.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55They were just really close together.

0:02:55 > 0:03:00Just I really miss... I really miss him.

0:03:00 > 0:03:02Anyway...

0:03:03 > 0:03:10'Jay's condition is now stable, but to get him home, Sue's had to move her family and buy a new house

0:03:10 > 0:03:13'that can be specifically adapted for Jay's needs.'

0:03:13 > 0:03:16Long-term, is he going to be all right?

0:03:16 > 0:03:20- I think so.- You think he can fight back against all of this?

0:03:20 > 0:03:25I've got a lot of belief in God. I know that God heard me when I cried out, when the helicopter took off.

0:03:25 > 0:03:30I know for a fact. And I've got massive belief and faith

0:03:30 > 0:03:34that God's in control and got him in his hand and he's going to be OK.

0:03:34 > 0:03:37But you've also got to have a life for your...

0:03:37 > 0:03:41- for the two others, Harry and Lois.- Mm-hm.

0:03:41 > 0:03:44It's only in the past couple of months, actually,

0:03:44 > 0:03:50I've realised I shouldn't feel guilty about taking them places and having fun, because...

0:03:50 > 0:03:53because Jay's missing out, you know?

0:03:53 > 0:03:55Because we haven't really done anything for...

0:03:55 > 0:03:59until about the past month, since we moved here.

0:03:59 > 0:04:01But it's quite a hard one to...

0:04:01 > 0:04:06to realise that I shouldn't feel guilty about doing things.

0:04:06 > 0:04:08HER VOICE BREAKS

0:04:09 > 0:04:12And that life's got to go on, really.

0:04:12 > 0:04:18Jay wouldn't want us to have no life just because he's in the predicament he's in at the moment.

0:04:18 > 0:04:23- Still going to be a long road, isn't it?- Mm, yeah.

0:04:23 > 0:04:26It'll take as long as it takes and I say to him all the time,

0:04:26 > 0:04:31I'll be with him every step of the way until he's back on his feet.

0:04:31 > 0:04:35What is it that you need doing to this house? It's not bad, in terms of open plan.

0:04:35 > 0:04:39We've got a living room, dining room area, a decent size.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43What is it that you need doing to this house and why?

0:04:43 > 0:04:49He needs a bedroom, he needs a wet room, big enough because he's 6 ft 4.

0:04:49 > 0:04:53And we need a porch to put his wheelchair in,

0:04:53 > 0:04:56and some lockable cupboards for his medical supplies and everything.

0:04:56 > 0:04:59'Sue and the kids are moving out, so we can move in.

0:04:59 > 0:05:04'We've got a massive challenge to get this house fit for purpose in just nine days.'

0:05:04 > 0:05:08All right, so how much can we do to this?

0:05:08 > 0:05:11I don't know how... What are we going to do?

0:05:11 > 0:05:16- Shall I tell you? - I'm looking and thinking there's not much that we can do to it.

0:05:16 > 0:05:19There's huge amounts! It's important, when Jay comes out of hospital,

0:05:19 > 0:05:24he has full accessibility on the ground floor to be very much part of the family again.

0:05:24 > 0:05:28'Our first task is to make some big structural changes downstairs.

0:05:28 > 0:05:32'We're taking out a wall to create a new, open-plan family room.

0:05:32 > 0:05:36'We're building an extension on the back of the house for Jay's bedroom,

0:05:36 > 0:05:39'wet room and to provide separate wheelchair access.

0:05:39 > 0:05:44'Julia's design needs to be functional and practical as well as easy on the eye.

0:05:44 > 0:05:48'We also want to do something special with the garden, as this will be Jay's window on the world.

0:05:50 > 0:05:55'But this story isn't just about Jay. We want to do something for the rest of the family as well.

0:05:55 > 0:05:59'So, as a one-off booking, we're bringing in an extra designer with bells and whistles.

0:06:00 > 0:06:04'We've pushed the boat out and booked a national treasure,

0:06:04 > 0:06:08'a star interior designer with unrivalled experience and hair.

0:06:08 > 0:06:10'Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen is a household name,

0:06:10 > 0:06:15'best known for restyling the nation's homes with a garish, trademark flair.

0:06:15 > 0:06:18'He dresses like a modern-day Beau Brummell.

0:06:18 > 0:06:22'He's been commissioned by moguls and millionaires but not for a while by the BBC.

0:06:22 > 0:06:27'But today, we're letting him loose on an ex-council house in Chippenham.

0:06:27 > 0:06:29'He's got his own unique style, but remember,

0:06:29 > 0:06:33'the Jenkins family can paint over it if they don't like it.'

0:06:33 > 0:06:38- Come inside, come forward, say hello.- It's like the seven dwarfs.

0:06:38 > 0:06:43- You can approach! Come in. - Meet our designer Julia. - Very, very nice to meet you.

0:06:43 > 0:06:47- Do you want to meet Billy, or would you rather not?- Right...

0:06:47 > 0:06:49- Let's go! - LAUGHTER

0:06:50 > 0:06:54- This is mum's room. - Obviously, very, very plain,

0:06:54 > 0:06:58and you get a real sense from this that,

0:06:58 > 0:07:01with all that's been going on over the last year, the last thing

0:07:01 > 0:07:06that she's going to think about is making a space for herself, time for herself, a treat for herself.

0:07:06 > 0:07:10'Whilst Julia's doing downstairs, Laurence has to transform

0:07:10 > 0:07:15'three bedrooms from blank canvas to bespoke boudoirs in a few days.

0:07:15 > 0:07:18'He must complement the practical and pragmatic design downstairs

0:07:18 > 0:07:21'with something indulgent and impressive upstairs.'

0:07:21 > 0:07:27I know a lot of people that would be extremely happy to help with something like this.

0:07:27 > 0:07:30So there's a particular... Mum wants...

0:07:30 > 0:07:34she's definitely going to get some kind of five-star,

0:07:34 > 0:07:38very, very elegant, very indulgent, very grown-up, feminine space,

0:07:38 > 0:07:40then we'll have a bit of fun for Lois and Harry.

0:07:41 > 0:07:47'This is a build of two halves, combining functionality and beauty.

0:07:48 > 0:07:53'Downstairs we've got to create a space that caters for Jay's special needs

0:07:53 > 0:07:58'but also retains the feel of a home for the rest of the family.

0:07:58 > 0:08:01'Upstairs, Laurence's here to give Sue, Harry and Lois

0:08:01 > 0:08:04'tailor-made treats in their bedrooms.

0:08:06 > 0:08:09'We've only got nine days for a job that should take six weeks,

0:08:09 > 0:08:13'so we need to clear the decks and get a move on.'

0:08:14 > 0:08:17- My fan's turned up! - HE LAUGHS

0:08:19 > 0:08:24'Jules, Matt, Mark, Chris and Billy are here to do the business.

0:08:24 > 0:08:28'They're good, but not that good, and so to stand a chance

0:08:28 > 0:08:32'of getting the job done on time, they'll need a lot of help.

0:08:32 > 0:08:36'Not only are the Jenkins' family and friends lending a hand,

0:08:36 > 0:08:40'but a bunch of local trades have given their time for a good cause.'

0:08:40 > 0:08:42My wife's a teacher in the local school

0:08:42 > 0:08:46and she saw your advert that had gone up

0:08:46 > 0:08:49and said I should go and get involved with that.

0:08:49 > 0:08:52- You're local trade? - Yes, just in Chippenham.

0:08:52 > 0:08:55- All right. And you've come along to help out?- Yeah, yeah.

0:08:55 > 0:08:59- I saw the advert and just phoned up and came along. - Lovely, thank you very much.

0:08:59 > 0:09:04'First up, Laurence needs to consult with his new clients about their design tastes.

0:09:04 > 0:09:09'We're keeping Sue in the dark about her room, so Laurence will have a free rein in there.

0:09:09 > 0:09:12'But the children have clear views on colour schemes.'

0:09:12 > 0:09:18What things would you like to see? What colours would you like? What sort of things do you dig?

0:09:18 > 0:09:21- Well, my favourite colour's blue. - Right.

0:09:21 > 0:09:25- What kind of blue? Sky blue? - Yes, sky blue.- Very good.

0:09:25 > 0:09:28Right, now, Lady Lois.

0:09:28 > 0:09:32What about your passion palace, your boudoir?

0:09:32 > 0:09:37- She wants a night disco in her room. - Really? We'll see what we can do.

0:09:37 > 0:09:40Well, I don't know.

0:09:40 > 0:09:45- Colours.- Black and white.- Right. OK. Any accent on that at all?

0:09:45 > 0:09:48- Flowery...- Flowery? - Kind of black-and-white.

0:09:48 > 0:09:52- I don't know.- Yeah? If you had to put a colour with black and white,

0:09:52 > 0:09:54what would you put in?

0:09:55 > 0:09:58- Um... I don't know. - The nation is on tenterhooks!

0:09:58 > 0:10:01What is she going to say?

0:10:01 > 0:10:05- SHE LAUGHS - Um... I don't know.- Pink?!

0:10:05 > 0:10:09- No. Purple? - I like purple, but I'm not sure.

0:10:09 > 0:10:13- Blue?- Nah. - Green?- I like green.

0:10:13 > 0:10:15Good. Jade would be very good with black-and-white.

0:10:15 > 0:10:19'Really?! I think I'll reserve judgement on that one.

0:10:19 > 0:10:22'Back at the house, the extension is starting to take shape.

0:10:22 > 0:10:27'It's like a massive flat-pack and three guys have to construct it in just two days.

0:10:27 > 0:10:30'Pretty impressive by anyone's standards.

0:10:30 > 0:10:36'At the front of the house, the well-dressed - well, the over-dressed one - is back.'

0:10:36 > 0:10:40What are you doing? I can't stand by and have you carrying things like that.

0:10:40 > 0:10:43- Don't you mind your nails. - Yeah, well...

0:10:43 > 0:10:48What surprises me is that such a relatively small house can yield such a lot of rubbish.

0:10:48 > 0:10:53- Why are you making her carry things? - Julia, excuse me.- Excuse me. - Just give us a lift up here.

0:10:53 > 0:10:56Do you want to do this one?

0:10:56 > 0:11:00- That's it. Come on, you boy, you! - That's it. Look at that.

0:11:00 > 0:11:03Just don't tell anyone, OK? Just don't tell anyone.

0:11:03 > 0:11:05LAUGHTER

0:11:05 > 0:11:07Do you not have to do this when on site?

0:11:07 > 0:11:11Obviously, I'm always happy to help and that's why I'm wearing tweed(!)

0:11:11 > 0:11:15- LAUGHTER My work-wear.- Yeah, I can see that.

0:11:15 > 0:11:18But you... I mean, um... I do feel...

0:11:18 > 0:11:22I know it's very old-fashioned, but it is odd to see a wonderful,

0:11:22 > 0:11:26- gorgeous, glamorous lady like yourself carting bits. - Glamorous? Hmm...

0:11:26 > 0:11:29- I remember glamorous. - Big bits of masonry. Look at you.

0:11:29 > 0:11:35- Not really glamorous any more. - The more you stand next to him, the more glamorous you become.

0:11:35 > 0:11:40'What Laurence has failed to grasp is the bag of spanners look is de rigeur on site this season.

0:11:40 > 0:11:44'Just look at father-and-son kitchen fitters, Steve and Kyle.

0:11:44 > 0:11:49Not only have they given up their time to help with the build, but have dressed appropriately.'

0:11:49 > 0:11:53- I understand you know the family. - Yeah. My, um...

0:11:53 > 0:11:56one of my son's knows the lad who's got injured.

0:11:56 > 0:11:59- Jay?- Yeah. That's why we got involved with it.

0:11:59 > 0:12:01Make a big difference, if we can get this sorted.

0:12:01 > 0:12:06If he gets to come home, and they hope that'll improve his chances of recovery.

0:12:06 > 0:12:08Sue's in a crazy situation at the moment.

0:12:08 > 0:12:11She can't get him home until this is done.

0:12:11 > 0:12:14But she's got to get him home, so it's got to be done.

0:12:14 > 0:12:16'I couldn't have put it better myself.

0:12:16 > 0:12:19'We've made a great start to the build thanks to the local trades.

0:12:19 > 0:12:24'We've managed to wreck the house. Tomorrow, we can start putting everything back together.'

0:12:28 > 0:12:31'Day two, and the team are moving from destruction to construction.

0:12:31 > 0:12:36'The steel beams to support upstairs are going in like a treat, and outside, one of our many supporters

0:12:36 > 0:12:41'is delivering something else that will go down a treat.'

0:12:42 > 0:12:46- Cakes.- Cakes?

0:12:46 > 0:12:50- Just baked this morning! Just baked now.- Look at that!

0:12:50 > 0:12:54Would you like one with your tea? Go on, you haven't...

0:12:54 > 0:12:57- You haven't had anything sweet all week.- I'm trying not to...

0:12:57 > 0:13:00- Shall I peel it for you? - I just think I'm going to have to.

0:13:00 > 0:13:03- They're still hot in the middle. - Oh, man!- Oh, look!

0:13:03 > 0:13:07You know you're not allowed cakes, don't you(?)

0:13:07 > 0:13:09- Laurence, do you want a cake? - Do I want what?

0:13:09 > 0:13:14- Would you like a cake?- A what? - A cake?- Cake!- A kick?- Yeah, a cake.

0:13:14 > 0:13:18- I assume this is a joke, isn't it? - No, this lady's just made us cake.

0:13:18 > 0:13:22Oh, cake! Oh, thank you, that's very sweet.

0:13:22 > 0:13:25That's lovely. Thank you. That's very kind.

0:13:25 > 0:13:27As you can see, they do need fattening up.

0:13:32 > 0:13:35'The roof's the most complicated part of the extension

0:13:35 > 0:13:38'as every piece of wood has to be cut and shaped individually.

0:13:38 > 0:13:41'The brickwork's going up at a rate of knots.

0:13:41 > 0:13:45'These guys don't know Jane, but have taken time off to help out.'

0:13:45 > 0:13:49Maz, Andy and Colin have been doing the brickwork for us.

0:13:49 > 0:13:53When they came in yesterday, we said, "How fast can you go?" And they said 1,000 a day.

0:13:53 > 0:13:56Didn't get started until 4 o'clock yesterday,

0:13:56 > 0:14:01and they reckon they'll do 1,600 today, because they're trying to pick up speed.

0:14:01 > 0:14:04And this wall's coming up really nicely.

0:14:04 > 0:14:07- How's it going, boys, all right? - Not too bad at all.

0:14:07 > 0:14:11'If only it were going so well indoors.'

0:14:11 > 0:14:15- What's that, then?- Lovely windows. - Who put that structural beam in there, when I wasn't looking?

0:14:15 > 0:14:19- Well...- The roof people? - It's on the roof.

0:14:19 > 0:14:22- Did you not think that through? - That's news to me.

0:14:22 > 0:14:27- Well, hold on a minute. Um... - No.- Clearly not.

0:14:27 > 0:14:31- I didn't know that was going there. - Ah! Is that a problem?

0:14:31 > 0:14:36- Well, it is a little bit, because our windows won't fit now. - Hang on a second! Where's...?

0:14:36 > 0:14:38- Where's Miller?- Here we go. I didn't measure them.

0:14:38 > 0:14:44It is my fault. Pencil in the air, it is my fault. I didn't know that that beam was going up there.

0:14:44 > 0:14:48- Unless you leave it as part of what you look out at.- No, that's silly.

0:14:48 > 0:14:52Put some lights up there. It would look lovely, that, into the room.

0:14:52 > 0:14:58Or put a couple of nails in and hang your dishcloths. That's where the sink's going.

0:14:58 > 0:15:01- Take those blocks out and lower it. - Right, so that's done.

0:15:01 > 0:15:04'You'd think we were making it up as we went along.'

0:15:04 > 0:15:09I mean, it's quite a tricky, small space, but it's the biggest room.

0:15:09 > 0:15:12'Upstairs are people with notepads and measuring tapes.

0:15:12 > 0:15:15'Laurence is the perfect booking for this job.'

0:15:15 > 0:15:19Talking about black-and-white, which is extraordinarily stylish.

0:15:19 > 0:15:23A green accent, weirdly. You know, like a jade or a chartreuse.

0:15:23 > 0:15:28'This family need to be wrapped up in luxury and, with the help of his studio director, Julie,

0:15:28 > 0:15:31'Laurence will bring glitz and glamour to this box-shaped house.'

0:15:31 > 0:15:35We're going to use curtains going right the way across.

0:15:35 > 0:15:39It's so weird the way that architects build these houses

0:15:39 > 0:15:43with the window completely to one side like that.

0:15:43 > 0:15:46Actually, it feels really incongruous,

0:15:46 > 0:15:49so if we have floor-to-ceiling curtains,

0:15:49 > 0:15:54I think that's going to improve the sense of space here and make the room feel a lot bigger.

0:15:54 > 0:15:57In here, come.

0:15:57 > 0:16:01The whole idea is to create something that feels very

0:16:01 > 0:16:05like a sanctuary. Very serene, very elegant.

0:16:05 > 0:16:09Make a really very grand statement with the bed.

0:16:09 > 0:16:13Either a big floor-to-ceiling headboard,

0:16:13 > 0:16:17upholstered headboard, or some kind of drapery around it.

0:16:17 > 0:16:19'He's quite bossy with her, isn't he?

0:16:19 > 0:16:23'With everything we're doing, we hope to change this family's lives.

0:16:23 > 0:16:26'After a traumatic year, they deserve a break.

0:16:26 > 0:16:33'Harry and Lois have spent a lot of time apart from their mum while Sue has visited Jay in hospital.

0:16:33 > 0:16:37'They need some fun together and remind themselves they're still a family.'

0:16:41 > 0:16:45They're quick, aren't they? They're hopping up like monkeys.

0:16:45 > 0:16:49They are. They've always been like monkeys since they were young.

0:16:49 > 0:16:52- Have you been to this park before? - Yes, but didn't come here.

0:16:52 > 0:16:55We were over by the beach about three years ago.

0:16:55 > 0:16:59- So, Jay would have been with you? - Yes.- Is it strange to come back?

0:16:59 > 0:17:03It is, actually. When we first drove in, I was like...

0:17:03 > 0:17:08- Last time we were here, Jay was here. But we'll come back again when he's ready.- Yes.- Definitely.

0:17:08 > 0:17:12Oh, look, she's shaking, bless her!

0:17:16 > 0:17:20OK, try and kick your legs over. That's it. One leg.

0:17:20 > 0:17:23Good boy. Two legs. Now wave to Mum.

0:17:23 > 0:17:28Have you told Jay we're here and what's going on at the house and that DIY SOS is around?

0:17:28 > 0:17:32Yeah. Every day I say about it and tell him what's happening.

0:17:32 > 0:17:36I've taken videos on my phone. Obviously, I can't now, cos it's all a big secret.

0:17:36 > 0:17:41- Yeah.- But yeah, when I show him, he opens his eyes and he watches.

0:17:41 > 0:17:46He even tracks my phone when I move it around. He's watching it.

0:17:46 > 0:17:49- You're fairly sure he knows what's going on and what we're doing?- Hmm.

0:17:49 > 0:17:52- Well done! - APPLAUSE

0:17:52 > 0:17:57How is it seeing them hopping about and jumping about and having a chance to do something physical?

0:17:57 > 0:18:02It's lovely to see them enjoying themselves actually. Really lovely.

0:18:02 > 0:18:05It just makes me realise I need to do it more often with them.

0:18:05 > 0:18:07Come on, you can do it.

0:18:12 > 0:18:18'A new day, a new roof. Every single bit of wood has been made to measure

0:18:18 > 0:18:23'and there's the added complexity of supporting the special equipment Jay will need.'

0:18:23 > 0:18:29How's it going? I've been watching and it's probably the most complex roof I've seen in a long time.

0:18:29 > 0:18:31It is pretty complex, but we've got there in the end.

0:18:31 > 0:18:35The three different pitches are different. The angles are different?

0:18:35 > 0:18:39Everything is different, yes. You've got one pitch on this end,

0:18:39 > 0:18:43a small elevation with another pitch and you've got the side there,

0:18:43 > 0:18:47- That's a different pitch again. - What's the hammering for up here?

0:18:47 > 0:18:51They're being beefed up, because there is a special hoist going in.

0:18:51 > 0:18:54Yeah, this is the hoist, so they can put him into bed.

0:18:54 > 0:18:59- Exactly.- When he comes home, you can move him around, cos he's a fair old size. He's 6 ft 4.

0:18:59 > 0:19:05- So that's the purpose of these extra heavy beams. Lovely, thank you very much.- Cheers.

0:19:05 > 0:19:11'Upstairs, Billy's trying to throw light on Laurence's flamboyant designs.

0:19:11 > 0:19:16'They may look like works of art, but the lack of technical detail is confusing our electrical friend.'

0:19:16 > 0:19:19- He's got two hanging lights here. - Yeah.

0:19:19 > 0:19:22We don't know the size of the bed, not sure where the bed's going.

0:19:22 > 0:19:26- We believe the middle of the room. - There is a picture there.

0:19:26 > 0:19:31Yeah, a lovely picture, but we're used to a picture with dimensions.

0:19:31 > 0:19:37'Laurence is taken a huge risk leaving his design plans open to interpretation by Billy.

0:19:37 > 0:19:43'Julia's taking no chances in the garden. She has drafted in a husband and wife garden design team

0:19:43 > 0:19:48'to help create a vivid and stimulating space for Jay and the family.'

0:19:48 > 0:19:51We've got plans for a lovely deck area outside the house.

0:19:51 > 0:19:56A low sloping ramp going through to a lower deck area with a lovely L-shaped sitting area and a pergola.

0:19:56 > 0:20:00Lots of nice plants, things that smell nice and sound nice.

0:20:00 > 0:20:04It's really important for me that we create as much of a sensory garden as we possibly can,

0:20:04 > 0:20:07because that's really going to help Jay with his rehabilitation.

0:20:07 > 0:20:09That all sounds really exciting.

0:20:09 > 0:20:12You've got your work cut out for you, haven't you?

0:20:12 > 0:20:14You say "we". It's that one over there, really.

0:20:14 > 0:20:17Poor hubby. Do you not get your hands dirty as well, then?

0:20:17 > 0:20:19I don't get my hands dirty!

0:20:19 > 0:20:23- There's something very wrong, clearly.- I do the airy-fairy planting bits.

0:20:23 > 0:20:25Well, it's just as important.

0:20:29 > 0:20:33'Indoors, Julie and Chris and their mates are like pigs in plaster.'

0:20:37 > 0:20:38Happy!

0:20:38 > 0:20:41- How old are you?- I'm 63 in November.

0:20:41 > 0:20:43- Are you really 63?- Yes.

0:20:43 > 0:20:45You thinking of retiring at any stage?

0:20:45 > 0:20:49Not really, no. I enjoy working and having a good craic with the lads.

0:20:49 > 0:20:54- Are your arms extra-long? - Do you want me to show you?

0:20:54 > 0:20:57Come here. Put your trowel down. They all take the mickey out of me, right.

0:20:57 > 0:21:02- I haven't been plastering as long as you. I've only been plastering 23 years.- Yeah, OK.

0:21:02 > 0:21:05- But doing ceilings and that, you adapt. Your shoulder. - Probably, yeah.

0:21:05 > 0:21:07Right, so I got extremely long arms.

0:21:07 > 0:21:10- So the way we measure it, you see... - Not face to face, is it?

0:21:10 > 0:21:12Come here.

0:21:12 > 0:21:15- The way we measure your wingspan... - Are you winding me up?

0:21:15 > 0:21:18No, no, no. I'm going to do it for you.

0:21:18 > 0:21:20Look, that's my wingspan.

0:21:20 > 0:21:25And that's my height. Yeah? Now, your arms should be the same length as your height.

0:21:25 > 0:21:27If I do mine, for example.

0:21:30 > 0:21:33They call me gibbon baboon man.

0:21:33 > 0:21:35Look at that, see, it's the same.

0:21:35 > 0:21:39My wingspan is the same as my height.

0:21:39 > 0:21:42Go on, have a go. Do the best possible you can reach.

0:21:42 > 0:21:44Got it? There you go.

0:21:44 > 0:21:46Have we got it? Now, go on, tell the truth.

0:21:46 > 0:21:49Yes, boom! My hero!

0:21:49 > 0:21:52See, it's years of plastering.

0:21:52 > 0:21:56- I still think there's some orang-utan in the family somewhere. - It's a pleasure to meet you.

0:21:58 > 0:22:00'Up on the roof, the felting is going on,

0:22:00 > 0:22:04'which means the tiling can start tomorrow, and it's only day three.'

0:22:04 > 0:22:06All done? All finished?

0:22:06 > 0:22:08- Finished.- Thank you very much.

0:22:08 > 0:22:10And, Margaret, group hug? Group hug!

0:22:12 > 0:22:16Not me, you fool, him.

0:22:16 > 0:22:18Isn't that a beautiful thing?

0:22:22 > 0:22:25'If it weren't for all the help we're getting,

0:22:25 > 0:22:28'we wouldn't stand a chance of turning this job around in just nine days,

0:22:28 > 0:22:31'and we wouldn't be here if it weren't for Jay's friends.'

0:22:31 > 0:22:35- Danielle, right?- Yeah.- Who wrote in? Yeah. Why did you write in?

0:22:35 > 0:22:39Um, cos one of my friends mentioned they wanted to do it, and they just didn't get round to it.

0:22:39 > 0:22:42I thought it would be the right thing to do at the time.

0:22:42 > 0:22:46And I'm friends with Lois, and my brother's best friends with Jay's little brother.

0:22:46 > 0:22:50- So Harry's always at our house now. - Is he?- Yeah.

0:22:50 > 0:22:52Have you seen what's going on in there?

0:22:52 > 0:22:56- Inside?- Yeah. What do you think? - Amazing.- It's good.

0:22:56 > 0:22:57They're going to be so shocked.

0:22:57 > 0:23:00- You think it will make a big difference?- Yeah.- They deserve this.

0:23:00 > 0:23:05That's what we're here for, 'to make a difference. Whether it be digging a hole,

0:23:05 > 0:23:06'wielding a hammer,

0:23:06 > 0:23:10'or installing a kitchen unit, every little helps.'

0:23:10 > 0:23:14I'm now about to join the merry crew of workers. I'm here in my work wear.

0:23:14 > 0:23:15I'm wearing my work tweeds.

0:23:15 > 0:23:18I've even got my work cufflinks on.

0:23:18 > 0:23:21These have the added advantage of being silver bullets,

0:23:21 > 0:23:25and it's coming up to full moon, and we know what happens to Nick at a full moon.

0:23:25 > 0:23:28Just in case, I'm prepared.

0:23:28 > 0:23:30Oh, now, look, this is looking really crisp...

0:23:30 > 0:23:33'Laurence and Julie have a problem on their hands.

0:23:33 > 0:23:35'They've got to get a large wardrobe into a very small hole.'

0:23:35 > 0:23:40- So the wardrobe matches the bed... - Yes.- ..and was...

0:23:40 > 0:23:43- It was apparently bought by Jay... - Right. OK.

0:23:43 > 0:23:46..before his accident, so I know Sue would really like to keep it.

0:23:46 > 0:23:50- You've thought of a cunning plan. - I've thought of a cunning plan.

0:23:50 > 0:23:52- Is it going to work? - Well, it should work.

0:23:52 > 0:23:53What's going on in here?

0:23:53 > 0:24:00- The big wardrobe that needs to be incorporated into the scheme because of its emotional importance...- Yes.

0:24:00 > 0:24:02..which doesn't actually work...

0:24:02 > 0:24:03If we put it there it's a bit of a shame,

0:24:03 > 0:24:07because it ruins the possibility of having a nice console table and a mirror.

0:24:07 > 0:24:10- But you want to put it...- In here.

0:24:10 > 0:24:14- Which I think is quite neat. - Depth and height is fine.

0:24:14 > 0:24:16Right.

0:24:16 > 0:24:18- What width is it?- 118.

0:24:18 > 0:24:21- The wardrobe is 118?- Yeah.- Yeah.

0:24:21 > 0:24:26- Basically, it would mean taking the architraves off and bringing the studwork back.- Slightly.

0:24:26 > 0:24:31Is it studwork or brickwork? It's brickwork, isn't it? You've got to take the door frame out.

0:24:31 > 0:24:33- You might have to... - Chip back a little bit.

0:24:33 > 0:24:35..cut a little bit of brickwork back.

0:24:35 > 0:24:38I'm sure we can find somebody for you later on.

0:24:38 > 0:24:41'How come he's being so helpful? Laurence may be wearing work tweeds,

0:24:41 > 0:24:45'but his definition of work seems to be a bit different to ours.'

0:24:45 > 0:24:46Are you opening a tin of paint?

0:24:46 > 0:24:48- I am.- Are you painting? - I'm doing stuff.

0:24:48 > 0:24:52- Are you actually painting? In a tweed jacket?- Yes!

0:24:52 > 0:24:54- Who paints in a tweed jacket?- I do!

0:24:54 > 0:24:57- Aren't you going to splash it?- No.

0:24:57 > 0:24:58It goes everywhere when I paint.

0:24:58 > 0:25:00You're doing the wrong thing.

0:25:00 > 0:25:07No, but seriously, when I started off with really swanky places, in sort of palaces and mansions,

0:25:07 > 0:25:11you're actually encouraged never to use anything more than a small dust sheet.

0:25:11 > 0:25:16If you kind of cover everything and you wear overalls, the temptation is then to be a bit messy.

0:25:16 > 0:25:20If you're turning up to work like this, little bit of a dust sheet,

0:25:20 > 0:25:22- the idea is that you keep it controlled.- Very nice.

0:25:22 > 0:25:24- Yeah, so there we are.- OK, all right.

0:25:24 > 0:25:29- Do you do the same sort of technique when you're rolling a ceiling? - No, I don't do rolling.

0:25:29 > 0:25:33That's the only disadvantage. If I'm doing ceiling, it does take a long time.

0:25:33 > 0:25:35A little tiny bit at a time.

0:25:35 > 0:25:37And our designers over the years,

0:25:37 > 0:25:43- because they tend to go at walls with two-inch brushes, and we get very annoyed with them.- Hmm. Why?

0:25:43 > 0:25:47It takes forever! We haven't got forever! We've got a limited amount of time to get it done.

0:25:47 > 0:25:50How are you going to feel about this brush, then?

0:25:50 > 0:25:54- You're not seriously going to... - I am seriously going to do that.

0:25:54 > 0:25:57It's these freehand scrolls,

0:25:57 > 0:25:59which are going to be in white on black.

0:25:59 > 0:26:05Lois was very keen on the idea of black and white. She says sort of girlie, florally wallpaper,

0:26:05 > 0:26:09but I really like the idea, rather than doing something that's all over,

0:26:09 > 0:26:12of actually just picking areas to bring the pattern in.

0:26:12 > 0:26:15So a little bit of curl is fine. Too much, it could go horribly wrong.

0:26:15 > 0:26:17Have you mentioned that to your hairdresser?

0:26:17 > 0:26:19THEY LAUGH

0:26:19 > 0:26:23I have, but the thing is, I'm never there.

0:26:23 > 0:26:27I have to leave a little Post-it note, "Don't go too far with this one."

0:26:27 > 0:26:30I'll leave you to it, I'll come and see what it's going like later.

0:26:30 > 0:26:36'Well, obviously, with Laurence on the tools, we're going to tear through the upstairs(!)

0:26:36 > 0:26:39'We've got more than 70 volunteers on this job,

0:26:39 > 0:26:44'and it's not just the local trades who've given up their time to make the house ready for Jay.

0:26:46 > 0:26:51'His schoolmates have been fund-raising for the last year to help the family.'

0:26:51 > 0:26:56# I got a feeling, whoo-hoo

0:26:56 > 0:26:59# That tonight's gonna be a good night... #

0:26:59 > 0:27:03We're at a school who are organising a fund-raising event for Jay this evening,

0:27:03 > 0:27:05and Sue and the family are here, aren't they?

0:27:05 > 0:27:10And lots of Jay's friends, and we've had a chance to get all poshed up this evening, it's lovely!

0:27:10 > 0:27:12Smart, isn't it? Very smart, eh?

0:27:12 > 0:27:16What's great about this, Sue can come out and have a really good time, let her hair down.

0:27:16 > 0:27:20She's put so much energy in, travelling back and forwards to see Jay all the time.

0:27:20 > 0:27:23It's a great opportunity for her to come and let her hair down a bit.

0:27:23 > 0:27:27I'm glad you haven't put really high heels on, cos I didn't want you to be towering over me.

0:27:27 > 0:27:30- No, I was very careful about that tonight.- Shall we go?

0:27:36 > 0:27:41'There's a huge turnout, and loads of different ways of raising money.'

0:27:42 > 0:27:43Oh, this is amazing!

0:27:43 > 0:27:46It is absolutely fantastic, yeah.

0:27:46 > 0:27:49We thought we were going to get 240 tickets, we got 400.

0:27:49 > 0:27:54It's absolutely fantastic, the support's been amazing. We're so lucky.

0:27:54 > 0:27:57It just goes to show, the support from Chippenham is just incredible.

0:27:57 > 0:28:01- Come on, Chippenham!- It really is. - Come on, Chippenham!- Amazing!

0:28:01 > 0:28:05Katie? You set up a fund for Jay, is that right?

0:28:05 > 0:28:09After the accident, we decided that we'd set up a fund to raise money

0:28:09 > 0:28:13so that when he came home, we had enough money for equipment and things like that.

0:28:13 > 0:28:20It's within school, and the first thing we did was a massive rugby match, which raised over £3,000.

0:28:20 > 0:28:23- How much?- 3,000.- Wow, well done.

0:28:23 > 0:28:28So that was like the beginning, and since then any money that we get just goes straight to the fund.

0:28:28 > 0:28:30- Can we have a toast?- Yeah?

0:28:30 > 0:28:33- You want a toast?- Yeah!

0:28:33 > 0:28:34ALL: To Jay!

0:28:34 > 0:28:37'Jay's friends from the sixth form have pulled out all the stops.

0:28:37 > 0:28:45'This fund-raising ball raised £8,000, all of which is going towards getting Jay back home.

0:28:45 > 0:28:48'It's over a year since his accident.

0:28:48 > 0:28:52'He's defied the odds, and is now in a stable condition.

0:28:52 > 0:28:56'We're all desperate to reunite the family and get them back under one roof.'

0:28:58 > 0:29:03You know, it's the sheer scale of the job that we've taken on here that's so impressive.

0:29:03 > 0:29:04Go and have a look.

0:29:04 > 0:29:08'Guest designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen still has a lot to do in Sue's room,

0:29:08 > 0:29:12'but that sparkly wallpaper gives you an idea of what he has in mind.

0:29:12 > 0:29:17'Harry's room now has a view and a cleverly designed bed.

0:29:17 > 0:29:21'We're totally restructuring the downstairs.

0:29:21 > 0:29:24'With this wall out, the kitchen's taking shape.

0:29:24 > 0:29:28'Down into Jay's room, with the new entrance.

0:29:28 > 0:29:30'And the wet room's coming together.

0:29:30 > 0:29:32'Finally, it's out into the new garden.'

0:29:32 > 0:29:34Pretty impressive, isn't it?

0:29:38 > 0:29:42Look at this, almost all boarded out in here. What's that going on there?

0:29:42 > 0:29:44Pocket door, they're finishing off.

0:29:44 > 0:29:50Oh. The pocket door is when it slides in and out to make maximum use of the space.

0:29:50 > 0:29:52Is that the bloke with the name?

0:29:52 > 0:29:56- That is the bloke with the name. - Oi, Hareward!

0:29:56 > 0:29:59You can't call someone Hareward, what are you called for short?

0:29:59 > 0:30:02- Hareward.- OK!

0:30:02 > 0:30:06How easy are these to sort out, these sliding doors, then?

0:30:06 > 0:30:10If we had the instructions at the beginning, they would have been quite easy.

0:30:10 > 0:30:14- Ah.- We've now got the instructions, and it's going along swimmingly.

0:30:14 > 0:30:19I see! So first off, you were just trying to throw it all together without knowing how it fitted, yeah?

0:30:19 > 0:30:24- Yes.- It's always nice when you get something new like that, isn't it? Is it going to be all right, though?

0:30:24 > 0:30:26It will be wonderful... I hope.

0:30:26 > 0:30:29Really? So if I pulled it now, it would work, would it?

0:30:29 > 0:30:31- Yeah, it'll work, Nick, yeah. - Oh, look!

0:30:31 > 0:30:33- That's all right, isn't it? - Yeah.- Thanks for that.

0:30:33 > 0:30:36Had fun with it, though, have you?

0:30:36 > 0:30:38Er... I think, how many hours?

0:30:38 > 0:30:40Ten?

0:30:40 > 0:30:41- Yeah.- Ten hours to fit a door!

0:30:43 > 0:30:46Well worth it in the long run, though, innit, yeah?

0:30:46 > 0:30:48'We may not have thought of instructions for the door,

0:30:48 > 0:30:52'but we have given a lot of thought to our beams.'

0:30:52 > 0:30:56Interestingly, the beam that goes through here is a wooden beam, and it's a laminate beam,

0:30:56 > 0:31:00and it would actually last longer in a fire than a steel beam would.

0:31:00 > 0:31:01Isn't that incredible?

0:31:01 > 0:31:03It doesn't twist, that's why,

0:31:03 > 0:31:07whereas a steel beam, once it gets hot, will twist and buckle

0:31:07 > 0:31:12and then will collapse, whereas the wood beam won't twist, simple.

0:31:12 > 0:31:13'He's my mentor.

0:31:17 > 0:31:22'A brief but informative distraction from the ongoing drama of the pocket door.

0:31:22 > 0:31:25'There's only so much door drama any of us can take in one day.'

0:31:25 > 0:31:26Well, hello!

0:31:28 > 0:31:29Howdy-doody!

0:31:29 > 0:31:32Erm... We have a problem, Houston.

0:31:34 > 0:31:37If anybody's vaguely interested,

0:31:37 > 0:31:40this pocket door has got increasingly narrower and narrower,

0:31:40 > 0:31:43and it's not going to be wide enough for the shower trolley.

0:31:45 > 0:31:47It's all gone very quiet.

0:31:47 > 0:31:52Mark and I rather foolishly took a view...

0:31:54 > 0:31:58..that the door that we've got would be wide enough. And it's not.

0:31:58 > 0:32:04Well, I don't see how you can change it now, the walls are in and the walls are plastered and the...

0:32:04 > 0:32:07How did we get to that position?

0:32:07 > 0:32:11We actually had a standard-sized door on it, and then Julia said it would be too small.

0:32:11 > 0:32:16- It's got to be wide enough.- So I went and got a bigger door to go into it, and it's still too small.

0:32:16 > 0:32:20Didn't we know the size of the trolley before we started? No?

0:32:20 > 0:32:25- Have you just got the size now? Have they just rang through? - They've just rang through.

0:32:25 > 0:32:28It's been a bit of a moveable feast, these sizes.

0:32:30 > 0:32:35But it is absolutely something I should have...treble-checked on.

0:32:35 > 0:32:40You haven't got 168 from the electrics.

0:32:40 > 0:32:44So even if you had a door wide enough, and an opening wide enough,

0:32:44 > 0:32:48you wouldn't have another recess for the door to disappear, anyway.

0:32:49 > 0:32:53- Because you've got electrics down there.- Oh, gosh.

0:32:53 > 0:32:55- Oh, my God.- Man!

0:32:55 > 0:33:00Well, I think all you can do is take the door back

0:33:00 > 0:33:03and put a frame in so that it takes a 900 door, and have a swinging door,

0:33:03 > 0:33:06but it means we're going to have to cut all this out.

0:33:06 > 0:33:11All that pocket door stuff that was really complicated to make will have to go.

0:33:13 > 0:33:15We can't make this any bigger,

0:33:15 > 0:33:19because all the frame's cut, so it wouldn't fit any more.

0:33:19 > 0:33:22So we'll have to bin the frame.

0:33:22 > 0:33:24Hang on, look, the boy's thinking.

0:33:24 > 0:33:30Maybe we could gain more that... Take this out, back to the wall.

0:33:30 > 0:33:33Well, from that cheek to the wall is 900.

0:33:33 > 0:33:35Oh, actually, do you know?

0:33:35 > 0:33:38That's a really, really good suggestion. Isn't it?

0:33:38 > 0:33:43You see, people overlook what's actually going on inside that melon.

0:33:43 > 0:33:45And actually there's a lot, isn't there?

0:33:45 > 0:33:50Sorry, I'm standing on your side on this, because we...well, I have to take the responsibility.

0:33:50 > 0:33:53You should both take responsibility for letting the team down on this one.

0:33:53 > 0:33:56Do you mind?!

0:33:56 > 0:33:59Mind the plasterwork!

0:33:59 > 0:34:00If she wasn't in the way...

0:34:00 > 0:34:03Yeah, I know, I know!

0:34:03 > 0:34:04Stay there for a minute.

0:34:04 > 0:34:07Anyway, there's another problem solved!

0:34:08 > 0:34:12'Upstairs, no violence at all, it's all gentle and freehand and froufrou.'

0:34:12 > 0:34:15Oh, look, it's all gone swirly in here.

0:34:15 > 0:34:17It's a bit swirly.

0:34:17 > 0:34:20This is my early swirly phase.

0:34:20 > 0:34:23Welcome. Welcome to it. This is Tim, by the way.

0:34:23 > 0:34:28Are you doing your own swirls, or are you filling in swirls that have already been created?

0:34:28 > 0:34:31I do basic swirls, and Laurence does the fancy bits round the edge.

0:34:31 > 0:34:36- Actually, to be honest, I think Tim does swirls, I do furbelows, but we won't...- Furbelows?!

0:34:36 > 0:34:40Yeah, let's not even go there, it's all going to get very complicated.

0:34:40 > 0:34:45Is a furbelow to a swirl what voiles are to nets?

0:34:45 > 0:34:48- Blimey, hark at you!- Ah, see!

0:34:48 > 0:34:50You've had some kind of designer book.

0:34:50 > 0:34:54No, it's just the designers always call things different names ten years on,

0:34:54 > 0:34:57so my mum used to have nets, they're out of fashion, now people put voiles in.

0:34:57 > 0:35:02- Are they in or out at the moment? - Well, it depends how nosy your neighbours are, really, doesn't it?

0:35:08 > 0:35:12'Downstairs, Julia's facing a much more fundamental design challenge.'

0:35:12 > 0:35:17Just trying to come up with a design for the storage solution for the hallway.

0:35:17 > 0:35:22It's really important for Sue that she has storage for all of Jay's medical equipment.

0:35:22 > 0:35:25Although we've got a nice wide hallway, we need a big turning circle

0:35:25 > 0:35:28for the wheelchair as it comes round a tight corner.

0:35:28 > 0:35:32So I'm trying to come up with something that still allows for that, that maximises all the space.

0:35:34 > 0:35:36'Sue has no idea we're doing up her room.

0:35:36 > 0:35:39'At this rate, she won't notice the difference.'

0:35:39 > 0:35:42I was going to say, not a great deal of change.

0:35:42 > 0:35:44Ta-da! I beg to disagree.

0:35:44 > 0:35:49This is really the only element of richness in the room, but I think it's absolutely wonderful.

0:35:49 > 0:35:54It looks quite organic, so I don't think she's going to be too frightened by that.

0:35:54 > 0:35:57A little bird tells me £250...

0:35:57 > 0:35:59It is quite expensive.

0:35:59 > 0:36:03- Ah!- I wanted to spoil her.

0:36:03 > 0:36:07We never spend more than 40 quid a roll.

0:36:07 > 0:36:11This is what was so lovely. The minute I rang some of these people up

0:36:11 > 0:36:15- and told them what we were doing, it's like the suede that's going... - Suede?!

0:36:15 > 0:36:17- And the silk that's going on the bed. - What?!

0:36:17 > 0:36:22And the shag-pile carpet, all of these things, people have been so desperate

0:36:22 > 0:36:27to give Sue a real sexy, slinky, quality environment.

0:36:28 > 0:36:33'We're not sexy or slinky downstairs yet, but we're working on quality.'

0:36:33 > 0:36:36The toilet originally we were going to put here.

0:36:36 > 0:36:41- Yes.- But the way the toilet, again, is moulded, the back of it is very tight,

0:36:41 > 0:36:43so I think we would have to look at putting it diagonal.

0:36:43 > 0:36:46We can't do that, because at some point in the future

0:36:46 > 0:36:50there will need to be wheelchair access to it.

0:36:50 > 0:36:55In order to shift from a wheelchair to a loo you need to be able to get either side,

0:36:55 > 0:36:57and you need to be able to get a wheelchair up too,

0:36:57 > 0:37:01so it's got to go on that wall, so we'll need to get a new loo.

0:37:01 > 0:37:03- We'll have to get a new toilet as well.- Excellent(!)

0:37:03 > 0:37:07And there was me thinking I could go out and buy nice, pretty, shiny things.

0:37:07 > 0:37:09Instead I shall be buying basins and loos.

0:37:09 > 0:37:14And then Harry's room is now blue. These are actually self-adhesive.

0:37:14 > 0:37:20This is actually just a shot from a local wood that we did on the way home the other day.

0:37:20 > 0:37:25And the idea is to bring a sense of perspective into the room, because it's a very, very small room.

0:37:25 > 0:37:31Explain to me something, because I've often wondered, what's the big deal with the three?

0:37:31 > 0:37:34If there's a single theme in art over the last 20 years, it's been,

0:37:34 > 0:37:37"take a picture and split it into three chunks." What's the deal?

0:37:37 > 0:37:39You see, that's very interesting.

0:37:39 > 0:37:45It's... You do tend to instinctively go for odd numbers in modern decorating.

0:37:45 > 0:37:48Traditional decorating, you always go for even numbers,

0:37:48 > 0:37:53so you think, a Georgian fireplace will have two candlesticks, two vases on the mantelpiece, or whatever.

0:37:53 > 0:37:57Modern decorating, you tend to do it so it's asymmetric.

0:37:57 > 0:38:03What this has done, by splitting the image into three, it's made it much more abstracted, which I wanted,

0:38:03 > 0:38:08I didn't want it to be too intimidatingly a view of something, like Hilda Ogden's Muriel.

0:38:08 > 0:38:13- I'm going to get back to the furbelows.- Your furbelows and your flounces, lovely.

0:38:13 > 0:38:18'There's no such fun downstairs. Julia can only dream of furbelows and wall art.

0:38:18 > 0:38:22'She's got bridges to build with the sliding door work detail.'

0:38:22 > 0:38:24How's it going, then?

0:38:24 > 0:38:27- It's going OK. - Yeah? Thank you very much, boys.

0:38:27 > 0:38:30Got me out of a real hole here.

0:38:30 > 0:38:33Not a wide enough hole, but there we go. That's great.

0:38:33 > 0:38:35It'll be fine. We'll get it done.

0:38:35 > 0:38:37- Yeah, it'll all work out.- You see?

0:38:37 > 0:38:40It's all about solving problems, isn't it?

0:38:40 > 0:38:44Solving problems that designers cause in the first place!

0:38:44 > 0:38:46We didn't say that.

0:38:46 > 0:38:49'You didn't have to, mate, it was written all over your faces.'

0:38:53 > 0:38:57Hello. You know what day it is today?

0:38:57 > 0:38:59- Thursday.- It's not Thursday.

0:38:59 > 0:39:01- It is.- Why?- It says so on my socks.

0:39:01 > 0:39:04- You've got the wrong socks on. - No, it's Thursday.

0:39:04 > 0:39:09- It's not Thursday. I knew you were the wrong person to ask.- It's Thursday...

0:39:09 > 0:39:12Steve? What day is it?

0:39:12 > 0:39:14Er, Monday, isn't it?

0:39:14 > 0:39:15Any sort of special Monday?

0:39:15 > 0:39:18- Bank Holiday. - It's a Bank Holiday Monday.

0:39:18 > 0:39:20Exactly, there, thank you very much.

0:39:20 > 0:39:22Mario, pull your trousers up.

0:39:22 > 0:39:24- Andy, what day is it?- Monday.

0:39:24 > 0:39:27- What sort of Monday?- Bank Holiday. - Bank Holiday Monday, thank you.

0:39:27 > 0:39:32All these people have given their time up on a Bank Holiday Monday to help us out. Thank you very much.

0:39:32 > 0:39:37'Yes, thank you, thank you. The wardrobe Jay bought for his sister has arrived from storage.

0:39:37 > 0:39:40'Julie's job is to see whether it fits into the widened opening.'

0:39:40 > 0:39:41I'm sure it'll be fine.

0:39:41 > 0:39:45'If she can't pull it off, he'll beat her. Not really, he doesn't do that.'

0:39:45 > 0:39:49- Julie, who measured the hole? Did you measure the hole?- I rang up and someone gave me the measurements.

0:39:49 > 0:39:52Do you not think if you'd measured it yourself, you'd know?

0:39:52 > 0:39:57- Yeah, but I couldn't measure it because it was in storage, so you have to rely on other people.- Ah!

0:39:57 > 0:39:59It'll be fine. It's always fine.

0:39:59 > 0:40:00- Is it?- Yeah.

0:40:14 > 0:40:15That's not good.

0:40:18 > 0:40:22Straight backwards until we've got it in line with the edge. Then start going in.

0:40:22 > 0:40:24I feel sick.

0:40:24 > 0:40:27Pass this end, yeah?

0:40:27 > 0:40:28I feel really sick.

0:40:29 > 0:40:32- It's going, yeah.- Is it in? - Yeah, it's going.

0:40:32 > 0:40:33Thank God for that.

0:40:33 > 0:40:35LAUGHTER

0:40:35 > 0:40:38I don't know what everyone was so worried about.

0:40:42 > 0:40:47'We've been flat-out in Chippenham for a week, working on home AND garden.'

0:40:47 > 0:40:52- It's come along beautifully, hasn't it?- It's looking lovely, isn't it? - Lots to look at and think about.

0:40:52 > 0:40:57- You pleased with it?- Yeah, we are really pleased, just shows what you can do in seven days, really.

0:40:57 > 0:41:01We are very pleased. I can't believe you came in and did all this. It will make a big difference to her.

0:41:01 > 0:41:04Yeah, we can say there's going to be a few tears tomorrow.

0:41:04 > 0:41:07And it's going to be very nice to see her reaction and be able to meet Sue,

0:41:07 > 0:41:11and, you know, for her, for the pressure to be gone, it's going to be great.

0:41:13 > 0:41:17'The special equipment Jay needs to move back home is being tested.

0:41:21 > 0:41:24'And two of his heroes from Bath Rugby Club, David Barnes and Joe Maddock,

0:41:24 > 0:41:27'have come to help with the finishing touches.'

0:41:27 > 0:41:30Don't slow them up. There's more to do here, guys. Thanks very much.

0:41:30 > 0:41:33- That's a nice colour, where did you get that?- Lovely colour.

0:41:33 > 0:41:38I don't want to interrupt your ironing too much, but you've been to see Jay, haven't you?

0:41:38 > 0:41:41Yeah, we went to see Jay not long after his accident, actually.

0:41:41 > 0:41:45It's obviously very sad what's happened to Jay but his family have rallied round

0:41:45 > 0:41:49and, obviously, what you see today, a lot of people have rallied round him and it's great to see

0:41:49 > 0:41:55something like this happening, get him home, and have him get better as quickly, as soon as possible.

0:41:57 > 0:42:01'Sue's faith has got her through the last year, so we're painting a psalm on the wall.

0:42:01 > 0:42:04'Upstairs, Laurence is admiring his handiwork.'

0:42:06 > 0:42:10- Oh, Laurence.- Hello.- Ah... - I'm waiting for an ironing board.

0:42:10 > 0:42:12- Ah.- Made the bed. It looks sort of...

0:42:13 > 0:42:15It's getting there, isn't it?

0:42:15 > 0:42:20The heirloom cupboard that it has to work around now fits almost perfectly

0:42:20 > 0:42:24- in there. The carpet tiles look absolutely brilliant. - These are tiles?- They are.

0:42:24 > 0:42:28And she was very keen on this idea of bringing a bit of green in there. Ah, more green.

0:42:28 > 0:42:33Which is an unusual thing to do with black and white, but I think it works really well. It freshens it up.

0:42:33 > 0:42:35I'm very happy with that.

0:42:35 > 0:42:38At the moment, we're a bit congested in here.

0:42:38 > 0:42:41Andrew's desperately finishing off the headboard and the bed.

0:42:41 > 0:42:45Doesn't look desperate. He looks very much in control, in command.

0:42:45 > 0:42:48- The most tranquil room in the house. - Look, he's just made of suede.

0:42:48 > 0:42:53- He's so unfazed, unhassled. - Isn't he? He has great hair.

0:42:53 > 0:42:56Shall we go and have a look at the other room? Yeah?

0:42:56 > 0:43:00And then, to Harry's room, which is taking shape. You know Jamie.

0:43:00 > 0:43:04- Jamie.- Marvellous.- Nick Knowles. - Hello.- Hi, Nick.- Nice to meet you. How are you?

0:43:04 > 0:43:07Very good, thank you very much. Look, sharp-dressed man.

0:43:07 > 0:43:11How come everyone in your team looks like they are going somewhere interesting?

0:43:11 > 0:43:16Do you notice how sweet that was? Because he's, very tactfully, he's taken himself off,

0:43:16 > 0:43:19because he knows that that very smart shirt clashes with the walls.

0:43:19 > 0:43:22- So you've got to be careful.- This looks good.- He's done brilliantly.

0:43:22 > 0:43:26This is a workstation. Very simple, very modernistically done.

0:43:26 > 0:43:31- Storage under the bed.- Could you have put a bigger pelmet on, do you think?!- It is, but I like that.

0:43:31 > 0:43:36- I thought I would make a statement with my big pelmet.- Are you pleased? - Yes.

0:43:36 > 0:43:40(HIGH-PITCHED) Yes, I'm delighted, thank you very much, Nick Knowles.

0:43:40 > 0:43:43It's been a wonderful experience(!) Not life shortening at all(!)

0:43:43 > 0:43:48- No, it's been a worry, hasn't it? - You know, my parting's a lot wider.

0:43:48 > 0:43:51- Is this the other one? - It's got a lot wider.

0:43:51 > 0:43:56- It is.- You put the other one on this morning.- This is the one that I washed at too high a temperature.

0:43:56 > 0:44:01'The team are working into the night to get the job finished.

0:44:01 > 0:44:04'The garden looks amazing in all its night-time glory.

0:44:07 > 0:44:11'With specially fitted lights and a fantastic water sculpture.

0:44:11 > 0:44:13'Look at that!'

0:44:20 > 0:44:24'Nine days ago, Sue, Harry and Lois moved out so we could move in

0:44:24 > 0:44:28'and get their home ready for Jay's return from hospital.

0:44:28 > 0:44:31'They haven't seen the house since and, in that time, we've managed

0:44:31 > 0:44:35'to completely transform the entire house and garden. On the ground floor,

0:44:35 > 0:44:42'Julie's overseen a monumental amount of structural work to transform this drab interior

0:44:42 > 0:44:43'into this!

0:44:43 > 0:44:45'Hoo-hoo!

0:44:47 > 0:44:51'We've taken down the kitchen wall and tarted up the units so they look brand-new.

0:44:53 > 0:45:00'As well as a new hob and extractor there are new composite stone worktops.

0:45:00 > 0:45:04'Julie's also designed windows looking straight into Jay's new room.

0:45:04 > 0:45:08'Successfully marrying design and practicality.

0:45:08 > 0:45:11'Jay's room was the one we simply had to get right.

0:45:11 > 0:45:14'We built an extension with its own entrance and its own wet room.

0:45:14 > 0:45:21'This work alone should have taken weeks but we've managed it in just a few days.

0:45:21 > 0:45:28'Julie's big challenge was to come up with a design that provided everything Jay needs to come home.

0:45:28 > 0:45:31'Impressively, she's also managed to add light, space and colour

0:45:31 > 0:45:35'while filling the extension with stimulating images and familiar objects.

0:45:35 > 0:45:40'At the back of the house, we've turned the disused garden into a sensory haven

0:45:40 > 0:45:42'for Jay and the rest of the family.

0:45:42 > 0:45:48'The gardeners have worked tirelessly to create a stimulating and interesting landscape,

0:45:48 > 0:45:53'as this garden will be Jay's window on the world.

0:45:53 > 0:45:58'He'll be able to see and hear the water sculpture, day or night.

0:46:00 > 0:46:03'To bring a touch of glamour to this ex-council house,

0:46:03 > 0:46:06'we made a one-off booking and invited a guest designer

0:46:06 > 0:46:11'with an unrivalled reputation for opulence, luxury and big hair. Upstairs, Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen

0:46:11 > 0:46:15'had a very different design challenge. We asked him to create

0:46:15 > 0:46:19'three bespoke bedrooms for the rest of the family.

0:46:20 > 0:46:27'Lois's drab room has been transformed into a teenager's dream den, with its black-and-white theme,

0:46:27 > 0:46:34'its hand-painted furbelows and green accent. It's a room most girls Lois's age can only dream of.

0:46:38 > 0:46:45'The pretty, sparkly consoles and cushions add essential glitz and glamour.

0:46:45 > 0:46:48'Harry's tiny boxroom was a real challenge.

0:46:48 > 0:46:52'The trio of tree panels gives the room depth and space,

0:46:52 > 0:46:58'and a clever, extended built-in bed, gives the room character with plenty of storage underneath.

0:47:01 > 0:47:04Next door, Sue has got a big surprise waiting for her.

0:47:04 > 0:47:07'She knows nothing of the changes Laurence has made to her bedroom.

0:47:07 > 0:47:11'He's gone for a luxury, upmarket feel with sequinned wallpaper,

0:47:11 > 0:47:15'high-quality upholstery and suede coverings.

0:47:15 > 0:47:19'Sue's room is classy and relaxing, a room fit for a glamorous mum

0:47:19 > 0:47:23'who needs somewhere to recharge her batteries.'

0:47:23 > 0:47:28We need...a bedroom and a wet room for Jay.

0:47:28 > 0:47:33- And a home, where you can be all together.- Yes.- You don't care what it looks like, do you?

0:47:33 > 0:47:39- Not really. Well, yeah, but not really. It's not as important as having rooms for Jay.- OK.

0:47:39 > 0:47:40Open your eyes.

0:47:43 > 0:47:45Ha-ha! Wow!

0:47:45 > 0:47:48Oh, it's awesome.

0:47:48 > 0:47:50Thank you!

0:47:52 > 0:47:54- Thanks.- I'm glad you like it. - It's awesome.

0:47:54 > 0:47:57- Let's step up this way a little bit. - I can see through the window.

0:47:57 > 0:48:01- THEY CHUCKLE - That's what you're excited about. The table, by the way, extends out

0:48:01 > 0:48:03so you can get loads of people in there.

0:48:07 > 0:48:09Look at that!

0:48:09 > 0:48:11It's lovely.

0:48:12 > 0:48:14"The Lord looks over all who love him".

0:48:14 > 0:48:19- And you really believe that, don't you?- Mm, I know that he's going to give Jay a full recovery.

0:48:19 > 0:48:24Definitely. And he who believes receives, and I do really believe that.

0:48:24 > 0:48:27You weren't sure whether you'd want something like that

0:48:27 > 0:48:30in the dining room, but it means a lot to you, so...

0:48:30 > 0:48:31It's lovely.

0:48:33 > 0:48:37We've taken a wall out. Do you want to wander in and take a look?

0:48:37 > 0:48:42Wow. Oh, wow, I love the worktops.

0:48:42 > 0:48:46- Oh, look.- Composite stone worktops, yeah.- Wow.

0:48:46 > 0:48:50The paint that we've used throughout the place is anti-bacterial - the kind of stuff

0:48:50 > 0:48:54they use in hospitals - so that you don't get bugs or germs. That's important to you.

0:48:54 > 0:48:57- Yes, definitely. Definitely.- This used to be the back of your house.

0:48:57 > 0:48:59It did. I can see through the window.

0:49:00 > 0:49:05- You're excited about that room more than anything else, aren't you? - Mm-hm.

0:49:08 > 0:49:11Oh, wow!

0:49:13 > 0:49:15Oh, wow!

0:49:16 > 0:49:18It's lovely.

0:49:21 > 0:49:23It's really lovely. And it's...

0:49:23 > 0:49:28It's just lovely. Amazing.

0:49:28 > 0:49:30Come this way. That's the doorway that goes out to back

0:49:30 > 0:49:33out the front and has wheelchair access and a ramp on that side

0:49:33 > 0:49:39so you can get him in. There's room to get round the corner. That's why we left the cut-out -

0:49:39 > 0:49:43- to move around.- That's really good, yes.- Storage, lockable cabinet

0:49:43 > 0:49:45- for all the medical stuff. - Yeah, medical.

0:49:45 > 0:49:49There's a few other things I want to talk to you about in here.

0:49:49 > 0:49:51We were talking about sensory things, sensory lighting.

0:49:51 > 0:49:57The light over his bed has a splay of light as it gets darker at night, and the little one up there,

0:49:57 > 0:50:01it throws shaped lights out. And all of the lighting

0:50:01 > 0:50:03- is sensory lighting. - Oh, that's a coloured one.

0:50:03 > 0:50:08That coloured one changes. It throws on to this piece on the wall. It creates shadows and colours

0:50:08 > 0:50:13- on the wall, so there something in his eyeline all the time. - To stimulate him. Brilliant.

0:50:13 > 0:50:17- The bathroom's really important to you.- Definitely. Jay's just going to love this

0:50:17 > 0:50:19as well. Absolutely love it.

0:50:19 > 0:50:24Temperature is really important. I know how careful you are with him, so showering is really important.

0:50:24 > 0:50:27We have an automatic mixer in the roof that has a maximum set temperature

0:50:27 > 0:50:32so it can never, under any circumstances, get too hot. No-one can make that mistake.

0:50:32 > 0:50:34The other thing is when you start to hoist him,

0:50:34 > 0:50:37there's a little silver button among the plugs on the wall.

0:50:37 > 0:50:41Press that when you start to hoist him. The thing starts off and starts in there,

0:50:41 > 0:50:45so that by the time you're in here it's actually up to temperature.

0:50:45 > 0:50:47Wow.

0:50:47 > 0:50:50Gadgets. Jay loves gadgets, too.

0:50:52 > 0:50:54Is it what you wanted?

0:50:54 > 0:50:57It's more than I could have ever imagined.

0:50:57 > 0:50:59Thank God.

0:50:59 > 0:51:06- What do you think Lois and Harry will make of it?- They'll love it, absolutely love it. Absolutely.

0:51:09 > 0:51:12- Woah.- Woah.

0:51:13 > 0:51:16Oh... I'm goi... Oh!

0:51:16 > 0:51:18- Just look in here.- What do you think?

0:51:18 > 0:51:23- Well cool.- Amazing.- Yeah?- Yeah.

0:51:23 > 0:51:25Oh, the kitchen.

0:51:25 > 0:51:28- I love the colour of the walls as well.- Ohhh!

0:51:28 > 0:51:31Oh...

0:51:32 > 0:51:33Cool.

0:51:33 > 0:51:37- Oh, woah, this is amazing. - Oh, that's cool.

0:51:37 > 0:51:40Oh, woah, look at Jay's room.

0:51:40 > 0:51:42- Look at his TV.- That's well cool.

0:51:42 > 0:51:45- Can I go to Jay's room? - Look at this hob thing.

0:51:45 > 0:51:48- Woah.- Is that a hood? - Is that the hoover thing?

0:51:48 > 0:51:53Yeah, a hoover thing. Hoovers all the cooking smells out.

0:51:53 > 0:51:57- Take a look at...- Look at how... - Woah. The car, flying things and...

0:51:57 > 0:52:01- This is jaw-dropping. - It's like a lad's pad, isn't it?

0:52:01 > 0:52:06- And the thing.- So what do you think? - Amazing.

0:52:06 > 0:52:07I'm speechless.

0:52:07 > 0:52:11- As Lois said, it's jaw-droppingly amazing.- Can we go outside?

0:52:11 > 0:52:17We have got one more thing to show you, actually. Well, let's just show you. Come this way.

0:52:22 > 0:52:23Woah.

0:52:23 > 0:52:27- Oh!- Check out the water thing.

0:52:27 > 0:52:29Oh, my days.

0:52:29 > 0:52:31- Well cool.- Wow.

0:52:32 > 0:52:38So we had some local garden designers turned up and said, "Do you mind if we help out?"

0:52:38 > 0:52:42- Amazing.- They did everything they could. There's a slight slope.

0:52:42 > 0:52:45All of it has been designed so you can get the wheelchair out here easily.

0:52:45 > 0:52:49In this area, you've got the wind chimes, you've got flowering trees

0:52:49 > 0:52:55and the bamboo which will rustle in the wind and make noises, too. So, how have we done overall?

0:52:55 > 0:52:57I am just...

0:52:57 > 0:53:00It's beautiful, absolutely beautiful.

0:53:02 > 0:53:06- I could never have afforded to do this myself.- This is one of the nicest houses I've seen.

0:53:06 > 0:53:09Or had the imagination to do anything like this myself.

0:53:09 > 0:53:12It's just incredible. I'm just overwhelmed, really.

0:53:12 > 0:53:15It doesn't look like our house.

0:53:15 > 0:53:21It feels like I'm visiting one of my friends with a posh house.

0:53:21 > 0:53:23'If Harry thinks this is posh,

0:53:23 > 0:53:25'I can't wait to see what he thinks of his bedroom.'

0:53:25 > 0:53:27In you go.

0:53:27 > 0:53:29- Oh!- Woah!

0:53:31 > 0:53:32Loving the carpet.

0:53:32 > 0:53:35This is awesome.

0:53:35 > 0:53:38This might sound weird but purple is my second favourite colour.

0:53:38 > 0:53:41- Well done, Nick.- Hop up and give it a try.

0:53:44 > 0:53:48- Bouncy! Soft. - Do you like your bedroom?

0:53:48 > 0:53:50- Yes, it's well cool.- It's awesome.

0:53:50 > 0:53:51In you go.

0:53:51 > 0:53:52Oh...

0:53:52 > 0:53:55Oh, my days.

0:53:55 > 0:53:58Oh, my...

0:53:59 > 0:54:02No...!

0:54:03 > 0:54:07- It smells lovely in here as well. - The candles.- Oh, wow.

0:54:07 > 0:54:14- I can't believe this.- This is awesome. Look, it's the cupboard.

0:54:14 > 0:54:17It's the wardrobe in the wall.

0:54:17 > 0:54:20We had to make a few adjustments to the wall to get that in.

0:54:23 > 0:54:26So what do you think? Has Laurence got this wrong and you hate it?

0:54:26 > 0:54:29- Look at the black curtain.- Yeah. No! - THEY LAUGH

0:54:29 > 0:54:31Talk us through it. What do you like?

0:54:31 > 0:54:34- I love everything about it. This isn't my room.- But it is.

0:54:34 > 0:54:37- SHE SQUEALS - Oh!

0:54:37 > 0:54:40- It's like a boudoir. - What was that in English?

0:54:40 > 0:54:43What was "ee"? Oh, the dressing table.

0:54:43 > 0:54:47It's like a dream bedroom.

0:54:47 > 0:54:52Sue has no idea that Laurence has done her bedroom, too.

0:54:52 > 0:54:55I can only hope she's as delighted as the children.

0:55:03 > 0:55:04Beautiful.

0:55:05 > 0:55:07Well...?

0:55:10 > 0:55:11It's beautiful.

0:55:11 > 0:55:18Laurence thought you might like a little place to just come and chill out at the end of a long day.

0:55:18 > 0:55:21- Woah-ho!- I love this wall.

0:55:21 > 0:55:23- Wow!- It's a feature wall.

0:55:23 > 0:55:26Very good. It is. He's a young Laurence, isn't he?

0:55:28 > 0:55:30I love it.

0:55:33 > 0:55:37Is this...? Not that you ever told us that you wanted a bedroom, but will this do?

0:55:37 > 0:55:39It's absolutely incredible.

0:55:39 > 0:55:46Just lovely. It's really calming and peaceful, which is just incredible.

0:55:46 > 0:55:47You've done the whole house.

0:55:47 > 0:55:49And the garden.

0:55:49 > 0:55:51You look a bit gobsmacked.

0:55:51 > 0:55:53- I think Mum's pretty...- Happy?

0:55:53 > 0:55:59I think Mum's lucky because she didn't exactly...her old furniture was, like, falling apart.

0:55:59 > 0:56:01So...it's good.

0:56:02 > 0:56:06Mum's never treated herself and now someone's treated her.

0:56:08 > 0:56:14We wouldn't have been able to do any of this if it hadn't been for the extraordinary people around here -

0:56:14 > 0:56:19the tradesmen, the brickies, garden designers, plasterers,

0:56:19 > 0:56:23construction workers, all of whom came along and gave their time.

0:56:24 > 0:56:29Here's just a few of the people that have been helping out.

0:56:29 > 0:56:31Step forward. Go and meet them.

0:56:36 > 0:56:40- Wow.- What an amazing community you have, don't you think?

0:56:40 > 0:56:42Thank you, everyone.

0:56:42 > 0:56:46Obviously, those of you that have worked and been involved this week, thank you very much.

0:56:46 > 0:56:49Not all of you have heard why it's such a big deal.

0:56:49 > 0:56:53- The change is not just about giving you a pretty home, is it? - No.- Why is it important?

0:56:53 > 0:56:56Because it's perfect now for Jay to be able to come home.

0:56:56 > 0:56:59You can all come and party with us and Jay.

0:56:59 > 0:57:04CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:57:08 > 0:57:14- I'm Laurence and I've spent the last eight days in your knicker drawer. - I love my bedroom.

0:57:14 > 0:57:20- Oh, and I did your bedroom as well, but anyway...- It's awesome.- Well, I really am very pleased you like it.

0:57:20 > 0:57:24There were moments when I was worried about the sequinned wallpaper.

0:57:24 > 0:57:25I knew you had it in you.

0:57:25 > 0:57:31- So good.- Oh, it's amazing.- I love it, I love it. Really love it.

0:57:31 > 0:57:33It's brilliant. Jay's going to love it.

0:57:33 > 0:57:35That's the important thing.

0:57:35 > 0:57:39This is the one who's responsible for it all. Yeah.

0:57:39 > 0:57:43CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:57:43 > 0:57:44Come on, then.

0:57:46 > 0:57:49Oh, OK. And the other side.

0:57:49 > 0:57:56I've got to go to Jay's review this afternoon. I'll be able to say, "His home's ready. He can come home now."

0:57:57 > 0:58:02It was a strangely different job this week because functionality was the key.

0:58:02 > 0:58:06It had to be functional so Jay could come home and join his family.

0:58:06 > 0:58:10A year this family has been apart since that accident.

0:58:10 > 0:58:14People always tell you that the community doesn't exist any more but look behind you.

0:58:14 > 0:58:19All the trades have turned out. We asked people to come for two days. They turned up and stayed for six.

0:58:19 > 0:58:21I love doing this because -

0:58:21 > 0:58:24look at it - you've got a community together and a family back together

0:58:24 > 0:58:28at the end of an extraordinary week. We'll do another one soon.

0:58:30 > 0:58:32Hello.

0:58:33 > 0:58:34Do you like it?

0:58:38 > 0:58:40- Say hello.- Hello.

0:58:40 > 0:58:43Hello.

0:58:43 > 0:58:45Are you all right? Nice to meet you.

0:58:51 > 0:58:56Come here, my darling. Thank you.
