0:00:02 > 0:00:06Malice, jealousy, intrigue and rivalry helped build this house.
0:00:06 > 0:00:09Back in the 18th century, two cousins competed against one another
0:00:09 > 0:00:12in order to gain the upper hand in the property stakes.
0:00:12 > 0:00:17Lucky for us, that legacy created one of the most important gardens in the North of England.
0:00:17 > 0:00:20So which county was the scene of all that drama?
0:00:20 > 0:00:22You will find out in a moment.
0:00:35 > 0:00:41In today's show I'll be exploring equestrian pads with a couple eager to escape urban living.
0:00:41 > 0:00:43You want a room for a party?
0:00:43 > 0:00:45Oh, fantastic.
0:00:45 > 0:00:49Yes, well, that is a kitchen, isn't it? Fantastic.
0:00:49 > 0:00:54I will be showing them some superb properties, but at times the ride does get a little bumpy.
0:00:54 > 0:00:57You're being swayed by things you've seen before.
0:00:57 > 0:01:00- Yes.- So I think you're not giving it a fair chance.
0:01:00 > 0:01:03But who will get their way? And will any of the properties,
0:01:03 > 0:01:05including our mystery house,
0:01:05 > 0:01:08get them excited enough to hand over the readies?
0:01:09 > 0:01:13Today I am in Yorkshire. In South West Yorkshire, to be precise.
0:01:13 > 0:01:19It was here, 300 years ago, that the two cousins battled it out to build the most magnificent house.
0:01:19 > 0:01:22This is one of the results, Wentworth Castle.
0:01:22 > 0:01:25If that is not keeping up with the Joneses, I don't know what is.
0:01:25 > 0:01:27But it is magnificent and grand.
0:01:27 > 0:01:31Two words you use quite a lot to describe properties in this county.
0:01:32 > 0:01:35In 1974, what was commonly known as Yorkshire
0:01:35 > 0:01:37became four separate counties.
0:01:37 > 0:01:40Today we are focusing on West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.
0:01:40 > 0:01:43This area is steeped in industrial history
0:01:43 > 0:01:47and became Britain's powerhouse during the 18th and 19th centuries.
0:01:47 > 0:01:52Coal and minerals made good steel, and the textile industry clothed the nation and the world,
0:01:52 > 0:01:55leaving behind some impressive Victorian architecture.
0:01:55 > 0:01:59Both the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales are on the doorstep,
0:01:59 > 0:02:04providing nature lovers with the perfect opportunity to enjoy the wide open spaces.
0:02:04 > 0:02:10The famous York stone is widely used throughout the area, on the land and in the local architecture.
0:02:10 > 0:02:14Due to its industrial heritage, this area is more densely populated
0:02:14 > 0:02:18than North Yorkshire, which is reflected in the house prices.
0:02:18 > 0:02:22So the average detached property will set you back
0:02:22 > 0:02:24in the region of £205,000 here.
0:02:24 > 0:02:27But don't be fooled by that low-ish price.
0:02:27 > 0:02:29This is the mother of all commuter belts.
0:02:29 > 0:02:33With thriving cities like Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield all close by,
0:02:33 > 0:02:35rural property is in high demand.
0:02:35 > 0:02:42But with over 1300 square miles to explore, you're bound to find something to spend your money on.
0:02:42 > 0:02:46If you can dig deep to the tune of £1.5 million,
0:02:46 > 0:02:50then take a look at this fabulous equestrian property in Whiston.
0:02:50 > 0:02:55The five-bedroom house was built to a high standard, just 14 years ago,
0:02:55 > 0:02:56yet appears much older.
0:02:56 > 0:03:02It comes complete with a billiard room, swimming pool, and sits in four-and-a-half acres of land.
0:03:02 > 0:03:07Staying with a modern house which has all the charm of a period property is this four-bedroom home
0:03:07 > 0:03:12in Womersley, on the market for £50 short of £600,000.
0:03:12 > 0:03:14Reclaimed materials have been skilfully used to inject
0:03:14 > 0:03:21character into this superb home which has fantastic proportioned rooms and elegant decoration.
0:03:21 > 0:03:26Finally, this three-bedroom home in Hoylandswaine is waiting for a buyer with £380,000.
0:03:26 > 0:03:30The cottage-style kitchen will satisfy those who hanker for the
0:03:30 > 0:03:36country must-have, a four-oven range, and the large mature garden is ideal for family living.
0:03:38 > 0:03:40Some fantastic properties there.
0:03:40 > 0:03:44Let's meet today's buyers, who are chomping at the bit to get to the country.
0:03:44 > 0:03:47Adrian and Pam share their four-bedroom house in Sheffield
0:03:47 > 0:03:52with their two children Nick and Alex, and their two dogs, Totty and Minnie.
0:03:52 > 0:03:56There are, however, two more family members who are not living at home.
0:03:56 > 0:03:59Now they want a house where they can all be together.
0:03:59 > 0:04:00Kiss.
0:04:02 > 0:04:06We want to move because our daughter has got horses.
0:04:06 > 0:04:11And we've had them in livery for the last 15 years, really.
0:04:11 > 0:04:17And I'm just sick of going to and fro and taking her up, and of course it is very expensive.
0:04:17 > 0:04:22I have been nagging Adrian for at least seven years, when we bought this place, haven't I?
0:04:22 > 0:04:24I think we are ready for a change of lifestyle,
0:04:24 > 0:04:27so seven years of nagging has worn me down,
0:04:27 > 0:04:29so we are ready to go for it now.
0:04:29 > 0:04:33It maybe horses for the girls, but the boys want their toys too.
0:04:33 > 0:04:38Adrian is hoping that the promise of plenty of land and a motorbike will keep Nick interested.
0:04:38 > 0:04:44We want them to want to be there, so I think if you've got the added bonus of a bike being there,
0:04:44 > 0:04:46they will still want to come.
0:04:46 > 0:04:50They are getting to the age where they'll want to fly the nest and we don't want them to.
0:04:50 > 0:04:52Not for a few years yet.
0:04:52 > 0:04:57Adrian owns a car business just north of Sheffield, and Pam owns a coffee shop in the city centre.
0:04:57 > 0:05:01So they need to be within reasonable commuting distance.
0:05:01 > 0:05:07Well, I'd like somewhere rural but close to a village that has a nice village pub which would be good.
0:05:07 > 0:05:12As long as it's got land, a few acres, a nice house, that's the priority.
0:05:12 > 0:05:17So the area is not desperately important, it is the property and the land which is the priority.
0:05:17 > 0:05:20So what sort of property will meet their needs?
0:05:20 > 0:05:23Preferably five acres plus, and you want a games room, don't you?
0:05:23 > 0:05:26A big kitchen, four bedrooms.
0:05:26 > 0:05:28Four bedrooms, yes.
0:05:28 > 0:05:33And the possibility of outbuildings that we could convert into stables
0:05:33 > 0:05:36or somewhere where you can have your cars and your bikes.
0:05:36 > 0:05:44My ideal home would have a big range cooker in the kitchen,
0:05:44 > 0:05:49open log fires, really quirky rooms.
0:05:49 > 0:05:51But that's not what you'd want, is it?
0:05:51 > 0:05:54No, I quite like a character building outside.
0:05:54 > 0:05:56I'm not very keen on new builds.
0:05:56 > 0:06:02But inside, I think older houses done in a contemporary feel, really nice minimalist.
0:06:02 > 0:06:08No clutter, nice clean, big spaces and a contemporary finish.
0:06:08 > 0:06:10So that's the conundrum we have.
0:06:10 > 0:06:13Pam wants that, and I want probably the opposite.
0:06:13 > 0:06:14We will have to see who wins.
0:06:14 > 0:06:16I can feel a storm brewing already.
0:06:16 > 0:06:20But in the meantime we have invited round a local estate agent to put a
0:06:20 > 0:06:24value on the house that they bought seven years ago for £300,000.
0:06:24 > 0:06:28It's a charming, detached house, four good bedrooms,
0:06:28 > 0:06:31nice reception rooms and kitchen, standing in pleasant gardens.
0:06:31 > 0:06:33A really excellent family house.
0:06:33 > 0:06:37Therefore I would expect the house to make in the region of £600,000.
0:06:39 > 0:06:43The estate agent's valuation I think, was really almost exactly what we thought.
0:06:43 > 0:06:45So, go on then. What's the budget?
0:06:45 > 0:06:49Our budget for this move is up to £1 million.
0:06:50 > 0:06:54Well, it really is a fantastic budget to be playing around with, isn't it?
0:06:54 > 0:06:57And in this part of the world I'm sure we'll find some gems.
0:06:57 > 0:07:02But I get the impression that this is a property search with horses at the forefront.
0:07:02 > 0:07:05Well, it is for Pam, anyway. And what about the house?
0:07:05 > 0:07:10She wants character in and out, and Adrian wants character on the outside but a modern interior.
0:07:10 > 0:07:13Someone's going to have to compromise.
0:07:13 > 0:07:16With Adrian and Pam both working in Sheffield, they're keen to
0:07:16 > 0:07:20keep their commute to a minimum, preferably no more than 25 miles.
0:07:20 > 0:07:23In today's show I will be guiding them around some desirable houses,
0:07:23 > 0:07:27but, as ever, I won't be revealing the price straight away.
0:07:27 > 0:07:32The last stop will be the mystery house, which could well create a stir.
0:07:32 > 0:07:33Hello, Adrian. Nice to see you.
0:07:33 > 0:07:37Welcome to Yorkshire. I know you've wanted to move to the country for ages
0:07:37 > 0:07:41and you've been nagging this poor gentleman for seven years.
0:07:41 > 0:07:44- What changed in you? - We needed a change of lifestyle.
0:07:44 > 0:07:47Yes, and you're fed up of me nagging you.
0:07:47 > 0:07:50Yes, fed up with her nagging me about horses and land and stuff like that.
0:07:50 > 0:07:53- I don't blame you. Are you going to be trouble?- No!- No, she says.
0:07:53 > 0:07:55Very easily pleased.
0:07:55 > 0:07:59You have a fantastic budget, but you also have different tastes.
0:07:59 > 0:08:02I like really, really traditional.
0:08:02 > 0:08:08I want open fires, beams, cottage, big kitchen.
0:08:08 > 0:08:11I prefer more space, and a more contemporary style as well.
0:08:11 > 0:08:14So, you've got your work cut out.
0:08:14 > 0:08:18Hopefully I've got some properties you'll both enjoy and the mystery property as well.
0:08:18 > 0:08:21- Shall we get on with it? - Yeah, great.- Come on then.
0:08:21 > 0:08:25So, with a fantastic budget of up to a maximum of £1 million,
0:08:25 > 0:08:28Adrian and Pam are looking for a character house with:
0:08:37 > 0:08:40But with Adrian wanting contemporary and Pam chasing character
0:08:40 > 0:08:42it'll be an interesting ride.
0:08:43 > 0:08:46So, you guys are quite familiar with this area, then?
0:08:46 > 0:08:50Yes. It's an area that we would certainly be happy to live in.
0:08:50 > 0:08:55It's near enough to Sheffield, but nicely in the countryside.
0:08:55 > 0:08:58And it is proper countryside, not just on the suburbs.
0:08:58 > 0:09:02- You're really in it, aren't you? - Aren't you going to sort of miss having everything on your doorstep?
0:09:02 > 0:09:05You've just got to be a bit more organised, haven't you?
0:09:05 > 0:09:08You can't just nip to a shop. You've to be organised.
0:09:11 > 0:09:13We kick off our search in High Bradfield,
0:09:13 > 0:09:16only seven miles from Sheffield. It enjoys the beauty of lying
0:09:16 > 0:09:18just inside the Peak District National Park.
0:09:18 > 0:09:20As the name suggests,
0:09:20 > 0:09:24it's high position provides lovely views over the countryside.
0:09:24 > 0:09:26It's not isolated though as the sister village of
0:09:26 > 0:09:29Low Bradfield is little more than a mile away.
0:09:29 > 0:09:32Separated only by fabulous woodland.
0:09:32 > 0:09:35Low Bradfield has all the usual amenities you might expect.
0:09:35 > 0:09:37There's a long history of farming in this community,
0:09:37 > 0:09:41and the house we arranged to view is an 18th-century former farmhouse.
0:09:43 > 0:09:47Well, this is it, it's four bedrooms, detached property.
0:09:47 > 0:09:5018th-century farmhouse.
0:09:50 > 0:09:55It's been redecorated in the '70s, maybe not to your taste, we'll find out.
0:09:55 > 0:09:58Yes, well it's certainly a period property, isn't it?
0:09:58 > 0:10:00- Yes, it's got character.- Definitely. Good start.
0:10:00 > 0:10:02- Excellent, shall we get in?- Yes.
0:10:05 > 0:10:10Come on in. Let me bring you into the country kitchen, first of all.
0:10:10 > 0:10:15- OK. Very country. - Yes, excellent, yes.
0:10:15 > 0:10:19And it's not massive, but it's nicely done,
0:10:19 > 0:10:22and I think it's in keeping with the character of the property.
0:10:22 > 0:10:26- It's a cottage style property.- Lots of original features, you've got the beans,
0:10:26 > 0:10:32- and you've also got this wonderful floor, and granite work surfaces, and the LPG there.- Yes.
0:10:32 > 0:10:38- No, the fittings are nice, it does look nice, I like the exposed walls. - Yes, yes, Adrian loves those.
0:10:38 > 0:10:42It's quite characterful, so, yes, it's a nice kitchen,
0:10:42 > 0:10:45it's not massive, but it's nice, so it's a good start.
0:10:45 > 0:10:48I thought you'd be the one that says, this is lovely, and you'd be like, oh, no,
0:10:48 > 0:10:50I'm not liking it, but it's the other way around.
0:10:50 > 0:10:54Yeah, well, Adrian won't spend much time in the kitchen, so...
0:10:54 > 0:10:58THEY LAUGH Just come and get the odd meal, and leave you in the kitchen.
0:10:58 > 0:11:01Let's move on. Well, there's nothing like honesty.
0:11:01 > 0:11:03Next to the kitchen is the utility room,
0:11:03 > 0:11:08this leads to the rear hall which takes us to the lounge.
0:11:08 > 0:11:11Staircase up to the bedrooms, I'll show you that later.
0:11:11 > 0:11:13- The sitting room.- OK.
0:11:15 > 0:11:20- Very nice.- What does that mean? - Bijou.- Bijou!- Good word!
0:11:20 > 0:11:25Yeah, it's not our taste in decoration,
0:11:25 > 0:11:28but it's a reasonable size room.
0:11:28 > 0:11:30- I'm thinking you love the beams. - Yes, like the beams.
0:11:30 > 0:11:33I'm a bit, you know, fire, would be...
0:11:33 > 0:11:35- Yeah, but you could put a fire in.- Yes!
0:11:35 > 0:11:39- You can't have everything, you know! - OK.- She's going to be trouble!
0:11:39 > 0:11:42- Yeah, but we've only got small budget!- Come on, let's go.
0:11:42 > 0:11:45Well, I can't magic up a fireplace, I'm afraid, nevertheless,
0:11:45 > 0:11:50it's a lovely lounge and it does lead through to a reasonable sized
0:11:50 > 0:11:53dining room, which does have a feature fireplace.
0:11:53 > 0:11:57From here, there is access to two further rooms in the lower part of the house.
0:11:57 > 0:12:03- So this is your kind of separate living space.- Nice and light, actually.
0:12:03 > 0:12:05To say the windows are not particularly big,
0:12:05 > 0:12:08there's plenty of light coming in, which I'm surprised about.
0:12:08 > 0:12:11- It would be really handy having space.- It is, yes.- Because actually, you can close that door,
0:12:11 > 0:12:14- it's totally separate from the house.- Absolutely.
0:12:14 > 0:12:18So we have teenage children, so they would probably, you know,
0:12:18 > 0:12:20commandeer this space, I think, for themselves.
0:12:20 > 0:12:24- Yeah, especially...- You seem quite happy about that.- Yeah, that's great!
0:12:24 > 0:12:27That will certainly keep the noise at this end of the house.
0:12:27 > 0:12:29And there's an extra room next door too.
0:12:29 > 0:12:32Upstairs, Nick and Alex might fight over the one-bedroom in this
0:12:32 > 0:12:34self-contained end of the house.
0:12:34 > 0:12:35Yeah!
0:12:35 > 0:12:39You say that every time you walk into a room. Yeah!
0:12:39 > 0:12:44- Well, it's not got that, YEAH!- It's more of a yep than YEAH!
0:12:44 > 0:12:48OK, I get her drift. It'll do, but it's not blowing her away.
0:12:48 > 0:12:50There is, however, the bonus of an ensuite.
0:12:50 > 0:12:53But for us, it's time to head back downstairs to find the other
0:12:53 > 0:12:56staircase that takes us to the main part of the house.
0:12:56 > 0:13:00Up here is the large family bathroom and then two double bedrooms
0:13:00 > 0:13:03with generous sized windows, letting the light flood in.
0:13:03 > 0:13:07But there's just one more room left.
0:13:07 > 0:13:10- So this in effect would be your master bedroom.- OK.
0:13:10 > 0:13:14- A little bit on the small side. - What do you want all this space for?!- Yeah, erm...
0:13:14 > 0:13:19- THEY ALL TALK AT ONCE - I wasn't asking you a...- There's no chandelier to swing from.
0:13:19 > 0:13:23- He gets quite claustrophobic!- No, I think the overall with the house is,
0:13:23 > 0:13:28it's the rooms are small, because it is a cottagey style. You've got the exposed brick as well,
0:13:28 > 0:13:32which I think looks unusual in a bedroom, but I like that.
0:13:32 > 0:13:36You do like that. It's got character, it's not a square, bog standard.
0:13:36 > 0:13:41- I hate square, bog standard rooms. - Well this house definitely isn't that.
0:13:41 > 0:13:46No. And it probably would look a lot better decorated to our taste, wouldn't it?
0:13:46 > 0:13:49OK, well, maybe the outside space might sway it for you.
0:13:49 > 0:13:51Yeah, we've not seen the outside space, and that's really important.
0:13:51 > 0:13:56You say that the rooms are small, the outside space is massive!
0:13:56 > 0:14:01- That's my domain!- Oh, look at that smile! Forget about the house!
0:14:01 > 0:14:04Let's get outside! Let me show you. How exciting!
0:14:07 > 0:14:08Time now to take a peek outside.
0:14:08 > 0:14:12Attached to the house is a workshop and garage and then in addition,
0:14:12 > 0:14:16there's a modern garage building that also houses a sunroom which
0:14:16 > 0:14:20is a real bonus, but I think they're going to love the amount of land.
0:14:20 > 0:14:23This house comes with six acres, more than they asked for.
0:14:23 > 0:14:26But they'd need to build their own stables and manege.
0:14:27 > 0:14:29The outside space is fantastic.
0:14:29 > 0:14:33- This is the formal garden bit, if you like.- That's manageable.- Yeah.
0:14:33 > 0:14:37- Get a sit on mower.- It's just the right size.- A sit on mower?!
0:14:37 > 0:14:40- You lazy thing! For this?! - That's big!
0:14:40 > 0:14:44You'd have fun mowing the lawn, I think! Definitely a sit on mower.
0:14:44 > 0:14:46Huge traffic noise, of course, to contend with.
0:14:46 > 0:14:49- I've not heard a car yet. - One car an hour something.
0:14:49 > 0:14:53It's great if our daughter can hack out safely on these roads.
0:14:53 > 0:14:56- Let's get down to the nitty-gritty. - OK.
0:14:56 > 0:14:59What do you think it's on the market for?
0:14:59 > 0:15:04I think the location is great, the house does need some work,
0:15:04 > 0:15:06I think it's on...
0:15:06 > 0:15:09- Come on, I'm dying to know!- 750.
0:15:09 > 0:15:14- Right, OK. - I would say possibly a bit more.
0:15:14 > 0:15:20- I'd say it's on for sale at 795. - 795. Your not clairvoyant, are you?
0:15:20 > 0:15:25- No, go on. It's not 750?- It is 750. - Is it?!- £750,000.- Oh, wow!
0:15:25 > 0:15:27Well done!
0:15:27 > 0:15:31Well, that then changes the fact that you've got stables to do, manege to do,
0:15:31 > 0:15:37the only thing is, you could alter the house to suit us.
0:15:37 > 0:15:39I'm loving your ideas. So go and have a look around.
0:15:39 > 0:15:40You now know it is £750,000,
0:15:40 > 0:15:43so you have got that money to play around with.
0:15:43 > 0:15:45- You go off and I'll find you later on.- OK.- Thank you.
0:15:45 > 0:15:47See you in a bit.
0:15:47 > 0:15:49What a great surprise.
0:15:49 > 0:15:52£750,000 price tag would give Adrian
0:15:52 > 0:15:55and Pam the flexibility to carry out alterations.
0:15:55 > 0:15:59There's a farmhouse kitchen with characterful exposed brick.
0:15:59 > 0:16:02Four reception rooms that will give the family plenty of space to spread out.
0:16:02 > 0:16:06Four bedrooms and six acres of land which is more than enough
0:16:06 > 0:16:09room for building stables and that manege.
0:16:09 > 0:16:11What do you think of this as a master bedroom?
0:16:11 > 0:16:16- There's no ensuite, is there?- No, that's a point.
0:16:16 > 0:16:19There's not a lot of room to put wardrobes in.
0:16:19 > 0:16:23The rooms are not really big enough, the layout, I'm not sure about.
0:16:23 > 0:16:26I don't know if it would work really with our family.
0:16:26 > 0:16:29The overall impression of the property is, not great,
0:16:29 > 0:16:32but if it was a different house in this location with these grounds,
0:16:32 > 0:16:34it would be perfect.
0:16:35 > 0:16:38- Have you seen enough?- Yeah!- Great.
0:16:38 > 0:16:40Come on, the weather is closing in like mad, let's go.
0:16:44 > 0:16:47Adrian and Pam's hectic lifestyle means
0:16:47 > 0:16:50they don't get much time to explore some of the sites close to them.
0:16:50 > 0:16:54So earlier this week they seized the opportunity.
0:16:54 > 0:16:56Sitting in the Pennine hills, Holmfirth is best known today as
0:16:56 > 0:17:00the setting for the popular comedy programme, Last Of The Summer Wine.
0:17:00 > 0:17:04But it's role in film history started in Victorian times.
0:17:04 > 0:17:07Born in Yorkshire in 1842 was James Bamforth, who created
0:17:07 > 0:17:11a company that was one of the leading pioneers of silent movies.
0:17:11 > 0:17:15It was only the onset of the First World War that saw the end to this.
0:17:15 > 0:17:18Local expert Colin Frost is the man with the knowledge.
0:17:18 > 0:17:26In fact, it was Bamforth who produced the world's very first edited film in 1899.
0:17:26 > 0:17:32But after the war, it continued with the saucy seaside postcards that we're all familiar with,
0:17:32 > 0:17:36and they continued into the 1990s when sadly, the factory closed down.
0:17:36 > 0:17:39So all in all, it's quite a bit of history to Holmfirth.
0:17:41 > 0:17:44And that history continues just six miles away. In Slaithwaite,
0:17:44 > 0:17:48the textile industry took full advantage of the Huddersfield
0:17:48 > 0:17:50narrow canal built in 1797.
0:17:50 > 0:17:54It was used until the advent of the railway to transport the goods
0:17:54 > 0:17:57produced in the town's mills to Manchester and Huddersfield.
0:17:57 > 0:18:00But in later years, the canal in Slaithwaite was filled in
0:18:00 > 0:18:04and only reopened in 2001 as part of the millennium project.
0:18:06 > 0:18:08The area's heritage is fascinating,
0:18:08 > 0:18:12but our task is to find Adrian and Pam their dream home.
0:18:15 > 0:18:19Our next house sits just outside Shepley, 19 miles from Sheffield,
0:18:19 > 0:18:22still making it a reasonable commute to the city.
0:18:22 > 0:18:27Holmfirth is just five miles away with its plentiful selection of shops, eateries and pubs
0:18:27 > 0:18:29found in charming lanes.
0:18:29 > 0:18:31It has most things that Adrian and Pam would need.
0:18:31 > 0:18:36The property I'll be showing them is a barn conversion that was renovated five years ago.
0:18:36 > 0:18:40There's no getting around the fact it sits in a rural and exposed position.
0:18:40 > 0:18:44- What's that, Pam? You don't like wind?- What?
0:18:44 > 0:18:47This is the highest point in Yorkshire we are on at the moment.
0:18:47 > 0:18:49Quite exposed.
0:18:49 > 0:18:53This property dates back to about 1750/1800s.
0:18:53 > 0:18:56- It's a fantastic looking property. - It is, isn't it?- From the outside.
0:18:56 > 0:19:00- Shall we go in?- Yeah, I think we will.- I am freezing cold. I'm glad you said that.
0:19:06 > 0:19:08Come on in, guys. Ruining my hair out there.
0:19:08 > 0:19:10- Let me take that for you. - Bit of a gust.
0:19:13 > 0:19:16- Thanking you. - Thank you.- Thank you.
0:19:16 > 0:19:17- This is nice.- You're very quiet.
0:19:17 > 0:19:22- No. Exposed brickwork, Adrian's favourite.- Oh, yeah, yeah.
0:19:22 > 0:19:24It's contemporary.
0:19:24 > 0:19:27Yes, it is.
0:19:27 > 0:19:34This is exactly contemporary but with that sort of old-fashioned style which has been kept in it.
0:19:34 > 0:19:38A mixture of the old-style and the contemporary.
0:19:38 > 0:19:42- Do you like the fireplace? - Yeah.- You wanted a fireplace. - Open fireplace, a wood burner.
0:19:42 > 0:19:47So you've got a beautiful mixture of old and new in this property. But there is more to see. Follow me.
0:19:49 > 0:19:51You want a room for a party?
0:19:51 > 0:19:53Oh, fantastic.
0:19:53 > 0:19:57Wow, yeah. Wow, that is a kitchen, isn't it? Fantastic.
0:19:57 > 0:19:59And I can feel heat.
0:19:59 > 0:20:01Yes, it is a double range.
0:20:01 > 0:20:03Oil fired.
0:20:03 > 0:20:07- It's great, isn't it?- Yeah. Small smile. Are you a happy bunny? Yeah!
0:20:07 > 0:20:11- Definitely. I think that is a "wow" kitchen.- It is, isn't it?
0:20:11 > 0:20:13That window feature is amazing.
0:20:13 > 0:20:17This is what you call a proper family kitchen, a dining kitchen.
0:20:17 > 0:20:20That is really just what we envisaged, wasn't it?
0:20:20 > 0:20:23That's probably how we would have it if we modelled it ourselves.
0:20:23 > 0:20:27- We'd live in here.- Yeah. - Who wouldn't have their kitchen like this?- Fabulous.
0:20:27 > 0:20:30We've got dogs as well, so this floor is fantastic for dogs.
0:20:30 > 0:20:36Well, I am really glad you like it so far but there is so much to see here, inside and out.
0:20:36 > 0:20:40You have seen that little seating area, let's get up close to it.
0:20:42 > 0:20:49So behind there's a downstairs toilet and utility room, and then you've just got this...
0:20:49 > 0:20:51wonderfully warm room.
0:20:51 > 0:20:53- It's really warm, isn't it? - It is fantastic, isn't it?
0:20:53 > 0:20:56Have a look round the house, I'm going to have a little lie-down.
0:20:56 > 0:20:59I wouldn't do that to you.
0:20:59 > 0:21:01Let's have a look at the sitting room. Come on.
0:21:05 > 0:21:09That's really letting some serious light in, isn't it?
0:21:09 > 0:21:15- That is a feature, but I also want to drag you round here because... - Oh, yeah. Fantastic.
0:21:15 > 0:21:18- A couple of wood burners. - Excellent.- Where do we sign?
0:21:18 > 0:21:19Oh, really? Excellent.
0:21:19 > 0:21:22Well, it's just here, actually.
0:21:22 > 0:21:25That's the downstairs space. Marks out of 10, what would you give it?
0:21:25 > 0:21:27Ooh!
0:21:28 > 0:21:32Definitely nine and seven-eighths.
0:21:32 > 0:21:35- Wow!- Yeah, I can't really think of a negative.
0:21:35 > 0:21:37I'm struggling, but there must be something.
0:21:37 > 0:21:40And nine out of 10, definitely. Definitely.
0:21:40 > 0:21:42Well, I'm thrilled.
0:21:42 > 0:21:43That's good news.
0:21:43 > 0:21:47- Let's hope upstairs isn't a let-down. Shall we have a look? - Yeah, great.
0:21:47 > 0:21:50'Excellent. We are cooking on gas here.
0:21:50 > 0:21:55'And I have high hopes for upstairs. The bathroom is the first stop off.'
0:21:56 > 0:22:00- Family bathroom. - Yeah, it is not huge, is it?
0:22:00 > 0:22:04- That's the first negative thing you've said.- I know. Sorry.
0:22:04 > 0:22:05- No, feel free.- But it is very nice.
0:22:05 > 0:22:08It's done nicely, isn't it?
0:22:08 > 0:22:12- It's not massive, is it?- You wouldn't do anything with it, would you?
0:22:12 > 0:22:16- If there's an en-suite, that would probably be big enough, eh? - Shall we go and have a look?- Yes.
0:22:16 > 0:22:18Happy!
0:22:18 > 0:22:23'There are four double bedrooms in total and the first is looking very girly, and it has an en-suite.
0:22:23 > 0:22:27'Bad luck, Nick. The other two bedrooms are roughly the same size
0:22:27 > 0:22:31'and they are a mix of contemporary style and character features.
0:22:31 > 0:22:35'Finally, at the end of a long landing, the showcase room.'
0:22:36 > 0:22:38- The master bedroom.- Great.
0:22:38 > 0:22:40Yeah, it is nice and bright.
0:22:40 > 0:22:43- Big enough?- Yeah. - Yeah, I think so.- It depends.
0:22:43 > 0:22:45What's behind these doors?
0:22:45 > 0:22:50- You're going to like what's behind this door.- OK. - I can guarantee you.
0:22:50 > 0:22:52- Oh, wow. Yeah.- Walk-in wardrobe.
0:22:52 > 0:22:54A his-and-hers dressing room.
0:22:54 > 0:22:56- I think hers.- Yes.
0:22:56 > 0:22:58It might fit your stuff in.
0:22:58 > 0:23:02- Brilliantly done. You'd never think that was behind there.- No. - Are you liking this room so far?
0:23:02 > 0:23:04Yeah. That's great.
0:23:04 > 0:23:08So, you don't have to have any wardrobes cluttering up the place.
0:23:08 > 0:23:11- You are probably thinking it could do with an en-suite.- Yeah.
0:23:11 > 0:23:15- There is a modest en-suite.- OK.
0:23:18 > 0:23:20- Oh, a wet room. - Fantastic.- A wet room.
0:23:20 > 0:23:23- Oh, that is lovely, isn't it?- Yeah.
0:23:23 > 0:23:26Yeah, that is really good.
0:23:26 > 0:23:30- I love it. It's fantastic. - It's almost like a hotel, isn't it? A hotel bathroom.
0:23:30 > 0:23:33- Fabulous.- That's brilliant. - That is good, isn't it?
0:23:33 > 0:23:34No shower screen to wash.
0:23:34 > 0:23:40- No, very easy to clean. - You really wouldn't expect this behind that door, would you?
0:23:40 > 0:23:45No, not at all. No. That's a five-star hotel standard bathroom.
0:23:45 > 0:23:48I tell you what, good for singing as well. # Aaah! #
0:23:49 > 0:23:52This is clearly an en suite on a grand scale.
0:23:52 > 0:23:57And if this has got them excited, just wait until they see what we've got in store for them outside.
0:23:58 > 0:23:59It's not too bad now.
0:23:59 > 0:24:03- No, it's definitely a bit more shaded here.- It was warmer in there!
0:24:03 > 0:24:05It was, definitely!
0:24:05 > 0:24:10- So, you've got a barn, and you've got these garages - one, two, three, four.- Yeah.
0:24:10 > 0:24:13- You're probably thinking, "Where's the stable?"- Yeah.
0:24:18 > 0:24:20There you go. Two stables.
0:24:20 > 0:24:22- Oh, excellent.- Quick look?
0:24:22 > 0:24:24Yeah, great.
0:24:26 > 0:24:29- You're loving this, aren't you? - I am.
0:24:29 > 0:24:34- Wow!- It's great.- What a great space, yeah.- You'd never have guessed.
0:24:34 > 0:24:38No, I was trying to work out where the stables were.
0:24:38 > 0:24:43- It's the cleanest stables in the world!- Yeah.- There's more grounds to see, so let's get on with it.- Yeah.
0:24:43 > 0:24:46'This house comes with a superb eight acres of land.
0:24:46 > 0:24:51'But as it's such a windy day, we're heading straight back inside, to talk money.'
0:24:51 > 0:24:54- That's better.- It is, definitely.
0:24:59 > 0:25:03- Still a lovely kitchen. - It is a great kitchen. - Isn't it just?- Fantastic space.
0:25:03 > 0:25:08Well, you've seen inside and out. I sense that you like it.
0:25:08 > 0:25:12- Shall we talk about the money? - Can do.- If you insist.- You're worried about this, aren't you?
0:25:12 > 0:25:15I am, because I don't want to be let down too much.
0:25:15 > 0:25:17OK. Was that let down?
0:25:17 > 0:25:22- Tommy Cooper! Go on, you go first. - Right, I think...
0:25:22 > 0:25:25795 is what I think it would be about.
0:25:25 > 0:25:29- 795?- £795,000, yeah.- OK.
0:25:29 > 0:25:31Well, I think it's more than that.
0:25:31 > 0:25:37I would go for 890, £890,000.
0:25:37 > 0:25:41OK, so that's 795, 890,000.
0:25:41 > 0:25:45I can tell you, the property is on the market for £925,000.
0:25:45 > 0:25:47- OK.- So, is that a let-down?
0:25:47 > 0:25:49Erm, I knew it would be around...
0:25:49 > 0:25:51I knew it was gonna be more than you said.
0:25:51 > 0:25:53Because it's a fantastic property.
0:25:53 > 0:25:55Erm, yeah...
0:25:55 > 0:25:57It's still well within the budget.
0:25:57 > 0:26:00- It is.- And the house and the grounds are great.
0:26:00 > 0:26:03- So that's the plus point. - Have another look around.- OK.
0:26:03 > 0:26:07- There's loads to see, outside and in.- Absolutely, yeah.
0:26:07 > 0:26:12- It needs another look.- I'll either be warming myself by the range, or I'll be braving it by the front door, OK?
0:26:12 > 0:26:15- OK.- We'll see you then. - OK, thank you.
0:26:15 > 0:26:17So, there we have it.
0:26:17 > 0:26:23At £925,000, this stunning house is well within Adrian and Pam's budget.
0:26:23 > 0:26:25There is a superb, high-spec kitchen.
0:26:33 > 0:26:36I think the property's brilliant. I love the house.
0:26:36 > 0:26:41You could move in here, you wouldn't have to do anything at all.
0:26:41 > 0:26:44I love the grounds, the grounds are great.
0:26:44 > 0:26:46I think eight acres is brilliant.
0:26:46 > 0:26:49And the stables work. Yeah, it's fantastic.
0:26:49 > 0:26:52It's just a bit exposed.
0:26:52 > 0:26:54Just a little bit!
0:26:54 > 0:26:57You can see for probably two or three miles, can't you?
0:26:57 > 0:27:00- Yeah.- And every room seems to have a good view.
0:27:00 > 0:27:03The interiors are really nice.
0:27:03 > 0:27:08Exactly the mixture of old and new, contemporary, that we were looking for.
0:27:08 > 0:27:12So it's a difficult blend to get, but this just hits it right on the spot.
0:27:13 > 0:27:17- Come on out. Look, I've arranged the sun for you.- Wow!
0:27:17 > 0:27:20- Fantastic.- Sorry I can't get rid of the wind though! Onwards?
0:27:20 > 0:27:21- Yes, brilliant.- Definitely.
0:27:30 > 0:27:33As Adrian and Pam are keen to explore their home county,
0:27:33 > 0:27:36I thought I'd take a leaf out of their book and do the same.
0:27:36 > 0:27:39So I've come to Wentworth Castle on the edge of the Peak District
0:27:39 > 0:27:43to find out a bit more about this imposing house and gardens.
0:27:44 > 0:27:48I'm meeting up with tour guide and former gardener of 20 years Fred Prigmore.
0:27:48 > 0:27:53The house was once home to Thomas Wentworth, the first Earl of Stafford.
0:27:53 > 0:27:57Having missed out on inheriting nearby Wentworth Woodhouse,
0:27:57 > 0:28:01which was handed to his cousin, he set about creating his very own rival estate.
0:28:03 > 0:28:07In 1708, Wentworth bought the house, formerly known as Stainborough Hall,
0:28:07 > 0:28:13for £14,500, and immediately started to turn it into something far grander.
0:28:13 > 0:28:17Now, this is called Wentworth Castle, but it's not really a castle, is it?
0:28:17 > 0:28:22No, he called it Wentworth Castle to just cock a snook at them over the hill.
0:28:22 > 0:28:26- Just to spite him over there? - Just to spite him over there.
0:28:26 > 0:28:30- That's outrageous!- Well, that's how it used to work, isn't it?
0:28:30 > 0:28:35They used to all be at it, building monuments to show their wealth off.
0:28:35 > 0:28:38- Extreme one-upmanship.- Yes.
0:28:38 > 0:28:41- That's amazing.- And then he built a folly at the top of the hill,
0:28:41 > 0:28:44which is one of the oldest in the country.
0:28:44 > 0:28:49But he built it as a castle on top of the hill. Like a big Wendy house for his kids to play in.
0:28:49 > 0:28:50And that's just to show off?
0:28:50 > 0:28:56That's just to show off, because from the top of the hill, they could see the other estate.
0:28:56 > 0:29:00Funny that something so beautiful actually came about through a bitter rivalry.
0:29:00 > 0:29:03The 60-acre garden is one of the most important in the country,
0:29:03 > 0:29:08due to its national collections of rhododendrons, camellias and magnolias,
0:29:08 > 0:29:10which thrive in the acidic soil.
0:29:10 > 0:29:12The gardens are open throughout the year.
0:29:12 > 0:29:16And Fred assures me that the best view is from the top of the folly.
0:29:17 > 0:29:22I tell you what, Fred, you're a fitter man than me. What a view!
0:29:22 > 0:29:24Yes, it keeps you fit, coming up here.
0:29:24 > 0:29:27- So, this is the Wendy house.- Yeah. - There were four originally.
0:29:27 > 0:29:31They had four children, three girls and a boy. And there were four towers.
0:29:31 > 0:29:33They had fireplaces.
0:29:33 > 0:29:38They were all decorated up and plastered and painted different colours.
0:29:38 > 0:29:42What's the best thing about working with nature here in Yorkshire?
0:29:42 > 0:29:45It's the peace and the quiet, as much as anything, up here.
0:29:45 > 0:29:48- It must be lovely when the tourists go.- It is, yes.
0:29:48 > 0:29:50They spoil it a bit sometimes, I think.
0:29:50 > 0:29:54Listen, I can't stand underneath an England flag for too long, being a Welshman.
0:29:54 > 0:29:57I'm jealous of you. You work in a lovely place.
0:29:57 > 0:29:59Thanks so much for showing me around.
0:30:06 > 0:30:11As the sun starts to set, it's a chance to retreat to the hotel and mull over the property search.
0:30:11 > 0:30:15- So how do you think it's gone today? - Yeah, it's been good.
0:30:15 > 0:30:21It's been good. We've seen two houses. It's been a long day, but the house in Bradfield we saw,
0:30:21 > 0:30:27was a great location, I wasn't overly impressed with the house.
0:30:27 > 0:30:31- Were you?- No, I think the land was fantastic,
0:30:31 > 0:30:34- and the price was good, really. - Well within the budget.
0:30:34 > 0:30:38It would have given us the funds to build the stables,
0:30:38 > 0:30:43which it didn't have, build a manege and do any work to the house.
0:30:43 > 0:30:47OK, so what do you think about the house in Shepley?
0:30:47 > 0:30:50I really liked the house, I thought the grounds were fantastic.
0:30:50 > 0:30:52It didn't have a manege,
0:30:52 > 0:30:56but there was certainly room to put the manege there.
0:30:56 > 0:30:59The kitchen was just exactly what I wanted.
0:30:59 > 0:31:04And that great blend of the contemporary interior mixed
0:31:04 > 0:31:06with the old features was superb.
0:31:06 > 0:31:09The house and Shepley, situated on the grounds of the one
0:31:09 > 0:31:12in Bradfield would be perfect, wouldn't it?
0:31:12 > 0:31:15- Absolutely.- We've got to compromise on something.
0:31:15 > 0:31:20- So, you know, we're looking forward to tomorrow, see what Aled has in store for us.- Yeah, that'll be great.
0:31:28 > 0:31:32Adrian and Pam are from Sheffield, and they're looking to break free from city living,
0:31:32 > 0:31:36and buy an equestrian property within commuting distance of the city.
0:31:36 > 0:31:39They have a huge budget of up to £1 million.
0:31:39 > 0:31:40So far they have viewed one property.
0:31:40 > 0:31:44Coming up, the house that gets Adrian chomping at the bit.
0:31:44 > 0:31:48I think this is really the best one we've seen, definitely the best house.
0:31:48 > 0:31:52I'm surprised you can't see that. I'm surprised that you think differently.
0:31:52 > 0:31:55- But we'll discuss it later!- Yeah!
0:31:56 > 0:32:01Our search continues to find Adrian and Pamela their dream property here in Yorkshire.
0:32:01 > 0:32:04Yesterday we found out that Pamela's horses are vitally important
0:32:04 > 0:32:07in this move. They're seen as members of the family.
0:32:07 > 0:32:11So in that respect, I'd say that land is as important as the house.
0:32:11 > 0:32:16But we've also seen that it is possible up here to tick both those boxes quite spectacularly.
0:32:16 > 0:32:21And with their optimism and positivity, I'm sure today's hunt will go at a canter.
0:32:21 > 0:32:23We're ready and raring to go this morning,
0:32:23 > 0:32:27and heading to Langsett for our first house of the day.
0:32:27 > 0:32:31It's on the edge of the Peak District National Park, just 15 miles from Sheffield.
0:32:31 > 0:32:36Nearby Stocksbridge has grown over the years, but it's still a small town.
0:32:36 > 0:32:42Just a stone's throw away, the urban environment gives way to woodland, and the Underbank Reservoir,
0:32:42 > 0:32:44which offers a range of outdoor activities.
0:32:44 > 0:32:49So, welcome to proper country living, this.
0:32:49 > 0:32:53- It is, yes. - So here, you've got four bedrooms.
0:32:53 > 0:32:58You've also got a little cottage here - handy for the children, maybe, I don't know.
0:32:58 > 0:33:02- There's loads of possibility with it.- Yeah. That would be useful. - Shall we get in?
0:33:02 > 0:33:04Yeah, definitely.
0:33:10 > 0:33:13Do come in. Don't look so worried.
0:33:13 > 0:33:15This isn't the kitchen, OK?
0:33:15 > 0:33:19This is a very handy utility room. You've also got a study which used to be a pigsty.
0:33:19 > 0:33:21But come on through to the kitchen.
0:33:23 > 0:33:26- That's lovely. That's really nice. - Solid oak units as well.
0:33:26 > 0:33:30And also, you can see the modern range.
0:33:30 > 0:33:35- Yeah.- It's got a nice butler sink. - Oh, fantastic, yeah.- It's a farmhouse kitchen, isn't it?- It is.
0:33:35 > 0:33:39- Yes. It's not a huge, but it's nice. - Too small?- No, I don't think it is.
0:33:39 > 0:33:43I think it's got so much character, I think you can get away with it.
0:33:43 > 0:33:46OK, great. Onward. Follow me.
0:33:50 > 0:33:55Yeah, fantastic. Cottage-style oak beams.
0:33:55 > 0:33:58Yeah. It's really unusual, isn't it?
0:33:58 > 0:34:03Cos you've got a hallway and dining room and a sitting room sort of all in one space.
0:34:03 > 0:34:07- You've got a galleried landing up here.- Oh, right.
0:34:07 > 0:34:08Which leads up to the bedrooms.
0:34:08 > 0:34:11An impressive room to walk into.
0:34:11 > 0:34:16- So, yeah, it's really interesting. - Stop looking for a fireplace! There is one in here, OK?!
0:34:16 > 0:34:18Come on, I'll show you where it is.
0:34:20 > 0:34:21- There it is.- That's nice, isn't it?
0:34:21 > 0:34:23Yeah, it is. You wanted an open fire.
0:34:23 > 0:34:28- Definitely.- I think it's a lot of work, but that's something that you want, isn't it?
0:34:28 > 0:34:30How often we'll use it, I don't know, but...
0:34:30 > 0:34:35Can you imagine yourself being here? Would your furniture fit here, or not, really?
0:34:35 > 0:34:37I think, again, they've got older furniture.
0:34:37 > 0:34:41You could actually put modern furniture in here. And it would be...
0:34:41 > 0:34:45That mixture of the new and old would work really well here.
0:34:45 > 0:34:49- You're being very positive, both of you. - I'm surprised you're that positive.
0:34:49 > 0:34:52I'm glad you said that, cos, yeah, he's very positive.
0:34:52 > 0:34:57It's bigger than I thought it would be. The main living areas and so on are bigger and more spacious.
0:34:57 > 0:35:04- So, yeah, that's good.- It seems to flow nice, doesn't it?- Yeah. - Shall we go upstairs?- Oh, yeah.
0:35:04 > 0:35:06Mind your head.
0:35:06 > 0:35:11'So far, so good. This barn conversion has a completely different feel to the last.'
0:35:11 > 0:35:14Off to the left are three out of the four bedrooms.
0:35:14 > 0:35:18The first two are doubles, which Nick and Alex would probably put their names to.
0:35:18 > 0:35:20And then there's the single guest room.
0:35:20 > 0:35:22Sandwiched in the middle is the family bathroom,
0:35:22 > 0:35:26which is contemporary, in contrast to the rest of the house.
0:35:26 > 0:35:30Heading down the galleried landing to the other end of the house is the master.
0:35:32 > 0:35:35- This is where you'd sleep. - Yeah, this is nice.
0:35:35 > 0:35:38- Fireplace. - Yeah, it is, it's lovely. And...
0:35:38 > 0:35:40I think it's really pretty.
0:35:40 > 0:35:42Yeah, it is. It's a pretty room.
0:35:42 > 0:35:46It's not massive, but it's big enough, isn't it?
0:35:46 > 0:35:50- It's certainly not short on character in anyway, is it?- No. - I like it. And I can...
0:35:50 > 0:35:52You're not quite there, are you?
0:35:52 > 0:35:58- I think since downstairs, his enthusiasm has waned a little. - Well, no, I think it's...
0:35:58 > 0:36:00You know, it's not going to be massive upstairs.
0:36:00 > 0:36:04Most cottages aren't, are they? You know, even if they're big downstairs.
0:36:04 > 0:36:08- So I think you've got to compromise with the bedrooms. - This is your own private wing.
0:36:08 > 0:36:10- Cos you've also got a bathroom here.- Ah, right.
0:36:10 > 0:36:15- And your own staircase, taking you back down into the kitchen. - Oh, wow! Yeah.- That's good.
0:36:15 > 0:36:20- I don't know why I'm telling you about it. I'll show you. - Yes. Let's have a look.
0:36:22 > 0:36:26- Your own bathroom.- That's bigger than the family bathroom, isn't it?
0:36:26 > 0:36:29It is. And you can still keep an eye on your horses
0:36:29 > 0:36:35- out in the field there, through that window. Lovely. - Shall we go outside?- Yeah.
0:36:35 > 0:36:40'They're both being really positive about this house, but I admit it caters more for Pam's needs.
0:36:40 > 0:36:45'Heading outside, we pass the cottage annex, which has everything you'd want.'
0:36:45 > 0:36:48And the teenagers might like to make use of it as they get older.
0:36:48 > 0:36:52Just round the corner, there's plenty of room for the horses, as there are nine stables,
0:36:52 > 0:36:57which sit on this five-acre plot. More than enough space for extending the equestrian family.
0:36:57 > 0:37:00And I still have my trump card to play.
0:37:01 > 0:37:03So, you wanted a manege.
0:37:03 > 0:37:05- I give you a manege.- Right, wow!
0:37:05 > 0:37:07- Great.- Fantastic. It's lit as well.
0:37:07 > 0:37:12- It's floodlit, yes.- That's a real bonus, isn't it?- It is. - You can see the land as well.
0:37:12 > 0:37:14Where the horse is there, that's part of your land.
0:37:14 > 0:37:18That field, that paddock. And the one in the front as well.
0:37:18 > 0:37:22Your lifestyle, it fits in completely. Look around you, there are horses everywhere!
0:37:22 > 0:37:27I think from a facilities point of view, you couldn't really ask for much more, could you, for the horses?
0:37:27 > 0:37:32- No. - So it definitely is a good contender on the lifestyle front, isn't it?
0:37:32 > 0:37:37This house has obviously impressed. But as ever, it gets to crunch time.
0:37:39 > 0:37:45- So, we've come to the moment that you dread.- Yes.- I sense. You like the house?- I do, I love it.
0:37:45 > 0:37:47I think this is my dream house.
0:37:47 > 0:37:50OK. We'll get to you later.
0:37:50 > 0:37:53How much d'you think it's on the market for?
0:37:53 > 0:37:59I think it must be near 930, £930,000.
0:37:59 > 0:38:00OK.
0:38:00 > 0:38:04- How about you? - I think it's a little bit cheaper.
0:38:04 > 0:38:08I would have said 920.
0:38:08 > 0:38:10Same ballpark, but maybe 920.
0:38:10 > 0:38:15920. It's not 900,000.
0:38:15 > 0:38:18- Is it over-budget? - It's less than 900,000.- Ah!
0:38:18 > 0:38:20- Really?- Yep.
0:38:20 > 0:38:23It's actually on the market for £865,000.
0:38:23 > 0:38:26- Gosh.- What's wrong with it?
0:38:26 > 0:38:30- I can't find a lot wrong with it. - No.- Go and have a look round. There's loads to see.
0:38:30 > 0:38:33Explore the annex again as well.
0:38:33 > 0:38:35And I'll come and find you.
0:38:35 > 0:38:37- You're relieved, aren't you?- I am.
0:38:37 > 0:38:43At £865,000, surely this house has to take the winning rosette.
0:38:43 > 0:38:46It has everything they want, and it's well within their budget.
0:38:57 > 0:39:03- Can you see yourself here, then? - I can.- Can you?- Yeah.- Are you feeling at home already?- I can, yeah.
0:39:03 > 0:39:10It would do. But I'm after really in a building, a bit more space and a bit more of a feeling of space.
0:39:10 > 0:39:12That's the thing that's missing for me.
0:39:12 > 0:39:15- It's a pretty-looking property, isn't it?- It is.
0:39:15 > 0:39:17And the stables are hidden.
0:39:17 > 0:39:20- They are.- So you can't see that from the front of the house.
0:39:20 > 0:39:25- On a nice summer's day, not a windy summer's day, it would be good, eh? - It would.- It would be lovely.
0:39:25 > 0:39:27I can see us fitting in here.
0:39:27 > 0:39:29I can see everything.
0:39:29 > 0:39:31Erm, yeah,
0:39:31 > 0:39:33it's made for me!
0:39:33 > 0:39:37How did I know that you would be here, you two?
0:39:37 > 0:39:39I can't possibly think why.
0:39:39 > 0:39:43I feel really bad about this, but I'm gonna have to drag you away. More to see, I'm afraid.
0:39:43 > 0:39:45Come on, let's go.
0:39:50 > 0:39:53Clay pigeon shooting has been a popular English country sport
0:39:53 > 0:39:55for the last century.
0:39:55 > 0:39:58Adrian was once a keen shot and when he and Pam make the move to
0:39:58 > 0:40:01the country, he would love to pick it up again, so they're meeting up
0:40:01 > 0:40:06with Brian Dickenson, a local clay pigeon shooting instructor.
0:40:06 > 0:40:11- Now, that is basic safety protection for your body. Yes?- Excellent.
0:40:11 > 0:40:14To ensure maximum safety, it's important there
0:40:14 > 0:40:18is 275 metres of an exclusion zone in front of the gun.
0:40:18 > 0:40:22So, this is the safe way to take the gun out of the slip. Unzip it.
0:40:24 > 0:40:29Break it. Now, we can both see it's empty. Take it out of the slip.
0:40:29 > 0:40:31We know that that gun is empty.
0:40:31 > 0:40:35This is a 12 bore shotgun, designed to bust clays,
0:40:35 > 0:40:37but also designed to kill.
0:40:37 > 0:40:40So, we are always ultra, ultra safe.
0:40:40 > 0:40:44With the briefing over, it's time to get cracking.
0:40:44 > 0:40:47The clays are discs made of pitch and chalk
0:40:47 > 0:40:50and fired remotely from a machine known as a trap.
0:40:50 > 0:40:53And to insure you don't fire outside the designated area,
0:40:53 > 0:40:56posing a danger to others, the shooter stands within a cage.
0:40:56 > 0:40:59As Pam is a novice, she gets a lesson from Brian.
0:41:00 > 0:41:05The gun is live. Mount your gun. Target is coming now.
0:41:07 > 0:41:10- OK. Do not worry about that. - Missed it.- Of course you missed it.
0:41:10 > 0:41:13- But that is the first time you have ever shot.- Yeah.- OK.
0:41:13 > 0:41:15Take your gun down. Relax.
0:41:15 > 0:41:17This is the clay target you are shooting, yes?
0:41:17 > 0:41:20If you shoot straight at it, the target would have gone,
0:41:20 > 0:41:25you'll be shooting there. So you shoot here, just in front of it.
0:41:25 > 0:41:29- So that when the shot goes to it, it all goes together.- OK.- OK.- Right.
0:41:29 > 0:41:31Let's try again.
0:41:32 > 0:41:36- There it is, there. - With Brian's encouragement,
0:41:36 > 0:41:39it only takes a few goes for Pam to get the hang of it.
0:41:39 > 0:41:43- There. There, there. Good shot. Good shot!- Did I hit that?!- Marvellous!
0:41:43 > 0:41:45- Right! Let's keep doing the same. - Right, come on then!
0:41:45 > 0:41:47Keep the same. Exactly.
0:41:47 > 0:41:51- Whatever you did then, do exactly the same.- I don't know what I did!
0:41:51 > 0:41:53You hit it perfect.
0:41:55 > 0:41:59Perfect! Absolutely! Perfect!
0:41:59 > 0:42:02For a complete beginner, this is fantastic.
0:42:02 > 0:42:07Pam is obviously a natural. Will Adrian be able to follow her high standard?
0:42:07 > 0:42:09Under pressure now.
0:42:11 > 0:42:13Target's going now!
0:42:17 > 0:42:21- Follow it. It's coming now. - Oops! It's not looking so good.
0:42:21 > 0:42:27That's one. Oh! The wife is the winner! The wife is the winner!
0:42:27 > 0:42:29No points for Adrian! Unfortunately.
0:42:29 > 0:42:33Let's hope we hit the target with the house hunt instead.
0:42:36 > 0:42:38Well, it's time for the mystery property,
0:42:38 > 0:42:41and I'm quietly confident that they're gonna love this house.
0:42:41 > 0:42:44It's got everything that they've asked for.
0:42:44 > 0:42:47It's got five bedrooms, an annex, potential games room.
0:42:47 > 0:42:51And outside, well, six acres, three paddocks, and three stables.
0:42:51 > 0:42:56Just perfect! So why is it the mystery property, I hear you ask?
0:42:56 > 0:42:59Well, I've brought them to north Lincolnshire.
0:42:59 > 0:43:02Flat north Lincolnshire.
0:43:05 > 0:43:07You look very nervous, Pam.
0:43:07 > 0:43:11- Do I?- Yeah, a little bit as if, "Oh, my God, where's he taking me?"
0:43:11 > 0:43:13- Yeah!- What would you hate?
0:43:13 > 0:43:17Modern, square rooms.
0:43:17 > 0:43:21I don't think it would matter as long as it had got good land outside for the horses.
0:43:21 > 0:43:23You wouldn't care, would you?
0:43:23 > 0:43:24No, not really.
0:43:25 > 0:43:28So, we've come off brief for the mystery house.
0:43:28 > 0:43:31It's just one mile outside Epworth in north Lincolnshire,
0:43:31 > 0:43:33where the average detached property
0:43:33 > 0:43:35is 16% cheaper than in South Yorkshire.
0:43:35 > 0:43:38Sheffield is still commutable, at 39 miles.
0:43:38 > 0:43:42We're going to show them how much more they can get for their money here.
0:43:42 > 0:43:45But will they be able to accept the longer commute?
0:43:45 > 0:43:50Epworth itself is known for being the birthplace in the 18th century, of John Wesley,
0:43:50 > 0:43:51the founder of Methodism.
0:43:51 > 0:43:56Today, Epworth is a fashionable market town, popular with commuters to the region's larger towns
0:43:56 > 0:43:59due to its proximity to the motorway network.
0:43:59 > 0:44:02This convenience might just swing it for Adrian and Pam.
0:44:04 > 0:44:05So...
0:44:05 > 0:44:07This has got the wow, hasn't it?
0:44:07 > 0:44:10Yes, the wow factor with the grounds, I think, definitely.
0:44:10 > 0:44:15- Nice drive, isn't it?- It is. - No, it's fantastic. Is it Georgian?
0:44:15 > 0:44:18- It's 18th century. - I can see stables.
0:44:18 > 0:44:22- We shouldn't have looked at those yet!- Yes, three stables, I'll show you them later.
0:44:22 > 0:44:24There's loads of storage space as well.
0:44:24 > 0:44:26- Shall we go inside?- Yeah. - Definitely.
0:44:26 > 0:44:28'I reckon we're off to a pretty good start.
0:44:28 > 0:44:34'We're taking the side entrance into the utility room, which takes us to the hall.'
0:44:34 > 0:44:37You've got a boot room here. Downstairs loo.
0:44:37 > 0:44:38Lovely.
0:44:38 > 0:44:42- And the kitchen.- Oh, wow!
0:44:42 > 0:44:45- Good size, isn't it?- It is, yeah.
0:44:45 > 0:44:51- An impressive, massive beam here. You've got the range, which you were after.- Yes.- Oil-fired, that is.
0:44:51 > 0:44:53- Yep.- You seem very quiet.
0:44:53 > 0:44:56No, I love the range, I think that's great.
0:44:56 > 0:45:01- It's different.- Yeah. It's not...singing to me.- OK.
0:45:01 > 0:45:04- But...- I can do that if you want.
0:45:04 > 0:45:06You wouldn't want that, honestly.
0:45:06 > 0:45:08Why is it not singing to you?
0:45:08 > 0:45:11Erm, I don't know, really. I don't know.
0:45:11 > 0:45:13Tell you what, let's move on.
0:45:21 > 0:45:24That's a nice little snug, isn't it? Next door to the kitchen.
0:45:24 > 0:45:26And, erm, wood-burning fire.
0:45:26 > 0:45:29- Which is good.- Open fire, yeah.
0:45:29 > 0:45:32I love it when you give it this sort of look, you say, "It's nice."
0:45:32 > 0:45:34THEY LAUGH
0:45:34 > 0:45:37- Which, you know, means...- Yeah.
0:45:37 > 0:45:41- Not very, very nice.- No, it is, it's nice. It's a different...
0:45:41 > 0:45:45Pam I think has seen something before, and gone, that's great.
0:45:45 > 0:45:47And then perhaps not come with an open mind.
0:45:47 > 0:45:52- You need to come with an open mind. - I know.- You need to forget that, and see what this has got.
0:45:52 > 0:45:57To be fair, I've only just shown you the kitchen, utility room and this little snug.
0:45:57 > 0:46:02- So shall we show you the rest of the house?- Yeah, definitely.- My ambition is to change your opinion of it.- OK.
0:46:02 > 0:46:04Let's go.
0:46:07 > 0:46:10Come on through to the court of King Henry VIII.
0:46:11 > 0:46:15- Oh, right!- Wow! Yeah, that is very impressive, isn't it?
0:46:15 > 0:46:18- That's stunning. - You've got this amazing fireplace.
0:46:18 > 0:46:22- It's a real working fire. An informal sitting room through there. Good size.- OK.
0:46:22 > 0:46:26So, already, you've seen two places where you can put a TV room or whatever.
0:46:26 > 0:46:29But the formal sitting room is just up here.
0:46:29 > 0:46:31- Come and have a look.- OK, lovely.
0:46:31 > 0:46:35Yeah. Oh, yes, that's nice.
0:46:35 > 0:46:37- A nice open fire again. - Lovely fireplace.- Yeah.
0:46:37 > 0:46:41I could see you lying down there. I don't think I'd ever go to bed.
0:46:41 > 0:46:43I'd go to sleep on that.
0:46:43 > 0:46:46For this room, I think there's lovely potential
0:46:46 > 0:46:49for it to remain a kind of a formal sitting room, don't you?
0:46:49 > 0:46:51- Yeah, it is, it's...- Beautiful.
0:46:51 > 0:46:55You could just imagine having drinks in here, having dinner in there.
0:46:55 > 0:46:58- It's like a nice country house hotel. - Yeah.
0:46:58 > 0:47:01Well, there's a second business for you, Adrian.
0:47:01 > 0:47:05Time to take a peek upstairs. The huge landing is rather impressive in itself.
0:47:05 > 0:47:07And this leads to five bedrooms.
0:47:07 > 0:47:10And for a change, we're starting in the master.
0:47:13 > 0:47:16- Really nice, bright room, isn't it? - It is, isn't it?
0:47:16 > 0:47:20- Nice panelling. - More of a French feel in this room. - Yeah, classically decorated.
0:47:20 > 0:47:24- It's lovely.- Again, very bright. What do you make of the flooring?
0:47:24 > 0:47:28- Yeah. That's different, isn't it? - Yeah. It gives it a really nice light.
0:47:28 > 0:47:32- I love the idea that you walk down into the en suite.- Oh, right, yeah.
0:47:32 > 0:47:36I hope quirky features like this will help win Pam round.
0:47:36 > 0:47:41The next two bedrooms are doubles, and then there's a single room with built-in wardrobes.
0:47:41 > 0:47:44Towards the other end of the house are two bathrooms.
0:47:44 > 0:47:46So it looks like the kids get one each.
0:47:46 > 0:47:49And maybe Nick might be taken with the final room.
0:47:50 > 0:47:53Another great-sized bedroom.
0:47:53 > 0:47:57- Yeah.- Lovely. - With the funkiest ceiling lights.
0:47:57 > 0:48:02Yes, they are different. This would be good for one of the kids, wouldn't it, this bedroom?
0:48:02 > 0:48:06- Mmm.- I'm sensing that you like it.
0:48:06 > 0:48:11I do. Yes, I think it's a superb house, yeah. And you're not so sure.
0:48:11 > 0:48:16No, I'm not. It's, erm, you're gonna have to persuade me on this one, I think.
0:48:16 > 0:48:20- Oh, right.- So it's roles reversed in a way, isn't it?
0:48:20 > 0:48:26- Yes.- Yes, I think, erm, I mean, we haven't seen the outside facilities, have we, really?- Yeah. Yeah.
0:48:26 > 0:48:28For the equestrian facilities.
0:48:28 > 0:48:31- So you need to reserve judgment until you've seen that.- Yeah.
0:48:31 > 0:48:35- Cos you're being swayed by other things you've seen before.- Yes.
0:48:35 > 0:48:37- So I think you're not giving it a fair chance.- No.
0:48:37 > 0:48:42- You've got to look at it as a whole.- Yes.- I think this is really the best one we've seen.
0:48:42 > 0:48:45- Definitely the best house.- Yeah. - By far.
0:48:45 > 0:48:48- Yeah.- OK. There you go. He's said it.- Yeah.
0:48:48 > 0:48:52I'm surprised you can't see that. I'm surprised that you think differently.
0:48:52 > 0:48:55But we'll discuss it at length later.
0:48:55 > 0:48:59I'm surprised that I'm here having to listen to this with you!
0:48:59 > 0:49:03I feel like a bit of a gooseberry. I'll leave you to it. Follow me outside if you want.
0:49:03 > 0:49:05But feel free to continue this.
0:49:05 > 0:49:08No, we'll come before we start fighting!
0:49:08 > 0:49:11The house, by and large, is meeting the brief.
0:49:11 > 0:49:13But I just know Pam can't wait to get outside and
0:49:13 > 0:49:17check out the equestrian facilities, which sit in a five-acre plot.
0:49:17 > 0:49:19Loads of parking space.
0:49:19 > 0:49:21- Loads of parking space. - You wanted stables?
0:49:22 > 0:49:25Three stables. You've always gone on about these
0:49:25 > 0:49:28horses as if they're your, you know, an add-on to your family.
0:49:28 > 0:49:32- They are a part of the family. - They would be. They're more or less sleeping in the same house.
0:49:32 > 0:49:34Exactly.
0:49:34 > 0:49:38In addition to the stables, there's also a range of outbuildings
0:49:38 > 0:49:41which I'm sure the family will soon find useful.
0:49:41 > 0:49:43There's even a dedicated gym and games room.
0:49:43 > 0:49:45And just behind is a tennis court.
0:49:45 > 0:49:49But as they're not big fans, I was thinking they could take it up and replace it
0:49:49 > 0:49:52with a, you've guessed it, manege.
0:49:54 > 0:49:57- Pam, yet more grounds.- Yeah.
0:49:57 > 0:50:00- It's another field, isn't it? - Yeah, small paddock.
0:50:00 > 0:50:02- I've got to ask the question, haven't I?- Yeah.
0:50:02 > 0:50:05What d'you think it is on the market for? You go first this time.
0:50:05 > 0:50:10Erm, I know it's a beautiful house, but I think it needs a fair bit spending on it.
0:50:10 > 0:50:12But I think it's near the top end of our budget.
0:50:12 > 0:50:19- Right.- So I would say it's about nine-and-a-half hundred thousand pounds.
0:50:19 > 0:50:21£950,000. OK.
0:50:21 > 0:50:25I would agree. I think it's an absolutely stunning house.
0:50:25 > 0:50:28I think it's fantastic. I think it ticks all the boxes for me.
0:50:28 > 0:50:33Location - a bit further obviously than we wanted to be away, but perhaps doable.
0:50:33 > 0:50:38So I would say, perhaps a bit cheaper than Pam.
0:50:38 > 0:50:42I would say perhaps 900,000, something like that.
0:50:44 > 0:50:46Hopefully it's within our budget.
0:50:46 > 0:50:48It is within your budget.
0:50:48 > 0:50:50It's very close to what you said.
0:50:50 > 0:50:55- It's actually on the market for £895,000.- Really?- Yes, really.
0:50:55 > 0:50:58She's got a smile on her face then! That is good value for money, I think.
0:50:58 > 0:51:03I think compared to what we've seen, that is the best value for money house we've seen.
0:51:03 > 0:51:06- It gives you over 100 grand to play around with.- Yeah.
0:51:06 > 0:51:08Well, I think you should go and have another look around.
0:51:08 > 0:51:12And you should carry on trying to persuade her. Good luck.
0:51:12 > 0:51:18- OK, yes, I'll need it, thank you. - I'll come and find you.- OK, great. Thank you.- See you later.
0:51:18 > 0:51:22This mystery house has created quite a stir.
0:51:22 > 0:51:27Whilst Adrian loves it, Pam remains to be convinced. It has...
0:51:34 > 0:51:40I don't think Pam feels quite the same way as I do with this house.
0:51:40 > 0:51:45And I'm not really sure why, because I think logically speaking, it's got everything we want.
0:51:45 > 0:51:48And as much as the other houses.
0:51:48 > 0:51:54So it perhaps needs a bit of gentle persuasion on my part, or hard persuasion, probably!
0:51:54 > 0:51:58And so that's what we're gonna have a discussion about, I think.
0:51:58 > 0:52:01So you don't think there's enough land, then?
0:52:01 > 0:52:05I don't think there's enough. And I think it needs quite a bit of work doing on the fencing.
0:52:05 > 0:52:08You couldn't shove a horse in here straightaway.
0:52:08 > 0:52:12- You'd have to do quite a bit of work.- Yeah. But we could fix that with money.
0:52:12 > 0:52:15You could. And there's money in the pot, isn't there?
0:52:15 > 0:52:18- Yeah. So I wouldn't dismiss it because of that.- No, it's not a deal breaker, is it?
0:52:18 > 0:52:22No, it's a concern that you've got, OK.
0:52:22 > 0:52:26I think it's very difficult to put my finger on what the problem is.
0:52:26 > 0:52:29And I don't know. I really don't know.
0:52:29 > 0:52:34For once in my life, I'm actually quite stuck for words, cos it is a fantastic house.
0:52:34 > 0:52:36- It's amazing. - So, what d'you think of the stables?
0:52:36 > 0:52:40- Yeah, the stables are a good size, aren't they?- Yeah. - Standard size, really.
0:52:40 > 0:52:45- Quite modern. They're reasonably new.- Hi.- Hi. - Just checking you're still talking.
0:52:45 > 0:52:49- Yes. Just.- That's a good thing. We've seen all the properties.
0:52:49 > 0:52:52We've had different reactions - some positive, some negative.
0:52:52 > 0:52:55So the only way we can decide is by having an arm wrestle.
0:52:55 > 0:52:57Not you and me, but you and him.
0:52:57 > 0:53:01- Go away and have a really good think, and meet up later.- Yeah. - Yeah.- Come on, let's go.
0:53:04 > 0:53:07Adrian and Pam's property hunt has thrown up some
0:53:07 > 0:53:12interesting propositions, but what will be the final outcome?
0:53:16 > 0:53:17So, is it safe for me to sit down?
0:53:17 > 0:53:22- It is. Yeah, we're all right, aren't we?- The mystery property caused a little bit of a rift?
0:53:22 > 0:53:24- It did put the cat amongst the pigeons, didn't it?- Yes.
0:53:24 > 0:53:29- The mystery property was controversial. - Yeah, the horse came between you.
0:53:29 > 0:53:32Let's talk about all the houses that we've seen.
0:53:32 > 0:53:35- The first one...- I loved the land. I thought the land was fantastic.
0:53:35 > 0:53:38It was just really, the fields just surrounded the property
0:53:38 > 0:53:40and hugged it, and it was brilliant,
0:53:40 > 0:53:42I mean there was no facilities there, particularly,
0:53:42 > 0:53:46for what we would want, but easily, we would have sorted that out.
0:53:46 > 0:53:49It was just the house, it had no wow factor, did it?
0:53:49 > 0:53:52And I just don't see how we could have possibly altered it
0:53:52 > 0:53:55in any shape to get it to how we wanted it.
0:53:55 > 0:54:00- And funnily enough, I totally agree. - And what about the house on the hill, the windy hill.
0:54:00 > 0:54:03- I loved the kitchen there. That kitchen...- That had the wow factor.
0:54:03 > 0:54:07- That, definitely, the kitchen was... - That's the best room we've seen.
0:54:07 > 0:54:10It is, by far, that one.
0:54:10 > 0:54:14That had the land as well. And it had stables.
0:54:14 > 0:54:16I think the price was a little bit high.
0:54:16 > 0:54:19What about the house with the manege?
0:54:19 > 0:54:21Oooh, that was fantastic.
0:54:21 > 0:54:26It was set up perfect, for me. And I loved the fact that from every room, you could see the horses.
0:54:26 > 0:54:31The views were amazing. You could just see for ever. And I love being outside.
0:54:31 > 0:54:36- So... I hate being tied to the kitchen.- This is a bone of contention, I think,
0:54:36 > 0:54:40the priorities - Pam's are horses, kids, me!
0:54:40 > 0:54:42- No, dogs, me.- Dogs, me! Yeah!
0:54:42 > 0:54:46So that's reflected in her choice of house. No, seriously, I think...
0:54:46 > 0:54:50It's not really. The house was beautiful, though.
0:54:50 > 0:54:53She's I'm sure prepared to compromise a lot on the house.
0:54:53 > 0:54:57Whereas I would put the house by far at the top of my priorities.
0:54:57 > 0:54:59So that's where we have the disagreement.
0:54:59 > 0:55:03Maybe you're not gonna get a really lovely house and fantastic equestrian facilities.
0:55:03 > 0:55:08Maybe that might not be possible. So there's got to be a compromise somewhere.
0:55:08 > 0:55:11Unclench your fists, put them up here.
0:55:11 > 0:55:17I'll just move these as well, cos we're gonna talk about the mystery property, and anything could happen!
0:55:17 > 0:55:21That house had the wow factor, didn't it?
0:55:21 > 0:55:22Especially when you walked up to it.
0:55:22 > 0:55:28- Mmm. It was, it was what I was looking for, I think, in my mind's eye, as a dream house.- I agree.
0:55:28 > 0:55:30Yeah, whatever!
0:55:30 > 0:55:35No, I do. I do agree. I think it needed a bit of work, really.
0:55:35 > 0:55:40- And the rooms were not as big as I thought they'd be. - You love it, though.
0:55:40 > 0:55:42I thought it was great, yeah.
0:55:42 > 0:55:45I thought they'd got plenty of interior space.
0:55:45 > 0:55:47The rooms were not massive, I would agree.
0:55:47 > 0:55:51But I think it was a house that you could remodel inside, how you wanted.
0:55:51 > 0:55:54And the exterior space I think was fantastic.
0:55:54 > 0:55:58- It's gonna be tough, isn't it? - It is. Cos you really liked that, didn't you?
0:55:58 > 0:56:00I thought it was, it was fantastic.
0:56:00 > 0:56:04- And...- We'd like to take the children. We've told them about those two properties.
0:56:04 > 0:56:07And I think we're going to take them and let them decide.
0:56:07 > 0:56:11Probably one of them will think, one will agree with me...
0:56:11 > 0:56:14This has got disaster written all over it. It really has.
0:56:14 > 0:56:18- They're going to have to have another programme.- I think I'm busy!
0:56:18 > 0:56:22Then I suggest you take the two horses as well, see what they think.
0:56:22 > 0:56:26Oh, my God! Well, I'm delighted that you're gonna go and see two again.
0:56:26 > 0:56:29And I've really loved meeting you. You were great fun.
0:56:29 > 0:56:34- Thank you.- And good luck with it. - Thank you very much.- Fantastic, thank you. It's lovely to meet you.
0:56:36 > 0:56:40Will Pamela and Adrian ever agree on a property?
0:56:40 > 0:56:46Well, I hope so, because it's obvious that they're both really spiritually attached to Yorkshire?
0:56:46 > 0:56:51But having a few disagreements when you're property hunting, it's horses for courses, isn't it?
0:56:51 > 0:56:53I'd say our work here is done. Till next time, goodbye.
0:56:55 > 0:56:58If you'd like to escape to the country, and would like our help,
