0:00:02 > 0:00:05It's hard to believe that only ten years ago these gardens were derelict,

0:00:05 > 0:00:07but thanks to one man's determination,

0:00:07 > 0:00:09they've been restored to their former glory.

0:00:09 > 0:00:12And which county inspired such horticultural devotion?

0:00:12 > 0:00:16Stay with us as we escape to the country.

0:00:28 > 0:00:33In today's show, I'll be helping a couple who want to sell up and find the perfect country retreat.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36This is lovely. I would be more than happy with this.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39I'll be showing them some of the best homes the area has to offer.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41It's fantastic.

0:00:41 > 0:00:43Just what we're looking for.

0:00:43 > 0:00:46And as ever, our surprise offering.

0:00:46 > 0:00:50Mystery house time, and you can already see something pretty impressive.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52I'd say so, yes.

0:00:55 > 0:01:01I'm in Somerset, and these are the Georgian landscape gardens at Hestercombe Gardens near Taunton.

0:01:01 > 0:01:05Designed in the 18th century, they were hidden for many years

0:01:05 > 0:01:09by hundreds of trees and thousands of tonnes of undergrowth

0:01:09 > 0:01:13until they were rescued by a mixture of dogged determination

0:01:13 > 0:01:16and just the slightest hint of British eccentricity.

0:01:16 > 0:01:20I will be discovering more about these gardens later, but for now,

0:01:20 > 0:01:25join me as we unearth some property gems in this bewitching county.

0:01:27 > 0:01:33Somerset is situated in the south west of the country, bordered by Devon, Dorset and Wiltshire.

0:01:33 > 0:01:37Our house hunt takes us to the region dominated by the Quantock Hills,

0:01:37 > 0:01:41the first place to be designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

0:01:41 > 0:01:45Just to the south of the hill range is Taunton, the county capital,

0:01:45 > 0:01:49a busy market town with Saxon roots, which boasts a 12th century castle.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52But Somerset's jewel in the crown is the royal city of Bath,

0:01:52 > 0:01:59celebrated for its Roman baths and Georgian architecture, made from distinctive Bath stone.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02From grand limestone houses to pretty cottages thatched

0:02:02 > 0:02:08in locally-sourced reed, this county offers classic country properties for all budgets.

0:02:08 > 0:02:12This county is about more than just poetry and grandeur.

0:02:12 > 0:02:15If you're thinking of moving here, you should know

0:02:15 > 0:02:18that there are big plans ahead for this part of Somerset.

0:02:18 > 0:02:22Taunton is undergoing a £1 billion regeneration project.

0:02:22 > 0:02:28It's aimed at creating 18,000 new homes and at least 7,000 new jobs.

0:02:28 > 0:02:33If you bear that in mind, an influx of money into the region does mean that property prices

0:02:33 > 0:02:38are likely to inflate, making now the perfect time to get a slice of the West Country.

0:02:38 > 0:02:40So what DO you get for your money?

0:02:40 > 0:02:45Well, £1.3 million would buy this fabulous five-bedroom family home

0:02:45 > 0:02:48just outside South Petherton.

0:02:48 > 0:02:52All the rooms are of generous proportions, not least the master en suite.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55And who could resist an indoor pool like this?

0:02:55 > 0:03:02Or a more reasonable £550,000 would buy this six-bedroom former manor house in Woolavington.

0:03:02 > 0:03:05It's believed to have belonged to the Abbey of Glastonbury

0:03:05 > 0:03:07and its core is said to date back to the 1400s.

0:03:07 > 0:03:11It's been lovingly restored and has a large, mature garden.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14Or if you're looking to unearth a property for less cash,

0:03:14 > 0:03:18try this house built into the face of a disused quarry.

0:03:18 > 0:03:21Arranged over four floors, it has three bedrooms,

0:03:21 > 0:03:25two sitting rooms and far-reaching rural views.

0:03:25 > 0:03:28You'll dig the price, too - £350,000.

0:03:28 > 0:03:33With such pretty houses just waiting to be snapped up, today's buyers

0:03:33 > 0:03:36might just be in for a treat, and it's time to meet them.

0:03:36 > 0:03:41Fitness fanatic and business manager Eugene, and medical secretary Jane

0:03:41 > 0:03:47live in a modern, five-bed house in Swanwick, Hampshire, but not for much longer.

0:03:47 > 0:03:53I feel sad about leaving this house, because it's my home and I've lived here longer than anywhere else.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55And I love it.

0:03:55 > 0:03:57But after 11 years together in the suburbs,

0:03:57 > 0:04:00they've re-evaluated what's important to them.

0:04:00 > 0:04:02They've decided a move to Somerset, where Eugene grew up,

0:04:02 > 0:04:06will offer them the lifestyle change they're looking for.

0:04:06 > 0:04:12It was always the intention at some point in my life to go back to what was home, which is in Somerset.

0:04:12 > 0:04:15I'm tired of the hustle and bustle here.

0:04:15 > 0:04:21I'm tired of spending an hour driving 14 miles down the road on the motorway to get to work.

0:04:21 > 0:04:25So it's a move home for Eugene, but a big step for Jane.

0:04:25 > 0:04:30I'm very nervous because I grew up here, so it's going to be major change for me.

0:04:30 > 0:04:33But I'm very positive. Really looking forward to it.

0:04:33 > 0:04:36As Jane and Eugene hot-foot it to the West Country,

0:04:36 > 0:04:39there are considerations that need to be taken on board.

0:04:39 > 0:04:42You can see I'm a bit of a hoarder.

0:04:42 > 0:04:46This is just a fraction of the number of pairs of shoes I've got

0:04:46 > 0:04:48and they're spread everywhere in this house.

0:04:48 > 0:04:52I'm really looking for some more storage space in the next place.

0:04:52 > 0:04:55It's important for me, working from home,

0:04:55 > 0:04:58to have an office in my next property. Something this size will do fine.

0:04:58 > 0:05:04Jane also has aspirations of owning a horse, so she's looking for at least one acre of land.

0:05:04 > 0:05:06So what does all this boil down to?

0:05:06 > 0:05:11In our next house, we'd like four bedrooms, two en suite.

0:05:11 > 0:05:14The kitchen's very important to me,

0:05:14 > 0:05:15that's my workshop.

0:05:15 > 0:05:20Ideally, it'll have a kitchen that will be quite spectacular.

0:05:20 > 0:05:23- A utility room. - A downstairs cloakroom.

0:05:23 > 0:05:25Study.

0:05:25 > 0:05:28It would be nice, a bonus, if it had a garage.

0:05:28 > 0:05:34It's got to have some character inside it as well. If it's got the wow factor, even better.

0:05:34 > 0:05:37My dream house in the country would be a converted barn

0:05:37 > 0:05:44that had a very high specification, with a fantastic kitchen and a paddock.

0:05:44 > 0:05:51Jane and Eugene's wish-list is pretty extensive, but where ideally will this dream home be situated?

0:05:51 > 0:05:57The sort of location we're looking for would be not directly in a village, but on the outskirts.

0:05:57 > 0:06:03I don't want to be totally remote. We'd like to be a couple of miles from a shop -

0:06:03 > 0:06:04not too far out...

0:06:05 > 0:06:09Before we can start the search, we've invited round an estate agent

0:06:09 > 0:06:13to give a valuation for the house they bought 12 years ago.

0:06:13 > 0:06:16This is a spacious and well presented five-bedroom detached house

0:06:16 > 0:06:20with a much larger than average plot and I'd value this at £470,000.

0:06:23 > 0:06:26I wasn't disappointed.

0:06:26 > 0:06:28I thought it was a fair price.

0:06:28 > 0:06:31So what's in the pot for this move?

0:06:31 > 0:06:34The budget for this move would be £650,000.

0:06:37 > 0:06:41Eugene and Jane are looking for a four-bedroom, detached house.

0:06:41 > 0:06:46Jane, in her own words, is looking for a spectacular kitchen and Eugene wants the wow factor.

0:06:46 > 0:06:51They also want a manageable garden and Jane wants at least an acre

0:06:51 > 0:06:54of paddock so she can get reacquainted with her love of horses.

0:06:54 > 0:06:56So let's get going.

0:06:58 > 0:07:01Eugene and Jane are keen to be within easy reach

0:07:01 > 0:07:07of Eugene's family in Bridgwater, so we'll be hand-picking properties within a 25-mile radius of the town.

0:07:07 > 0:07:11Over two days, I'll be guiding them round some delightful properties

0:07:11 > 0:07:14and, as ever, letting my buyers guess the price.

0:07:14 > 0:07:16And last, of course, is the mystery house,

0:07:16 > 0:07:19a property chosen to challenge their idea of the country dream.

0:07:21 > 0:07:24Jane and Eugene, welcome to lovely Somerset.

0:07:24 > 0:07:26Fantastic county, great choice.

0:07:26 > 0:07:28It's the place of your birth, isn't it?

0:07:28 > 0:07:34That's right. I left in 1976 but we come back periodically to see relatives.

0:07:34 > 0:07:38But a big change for you, it'll be the first time you've lived here.

0:07:38 > 0:07:40It's going to be a dramatic change for me.

0:07:40 > 0:07:42- Excited?- Very much so, yes.

0:07:42 > 0:07:46Have you got a clear picture of what it is you're looking for?

0:07:46 > 0:07:50There's this mix between the traditional and modern you're looking for.

0:07:50 > 0:07:53My area is kitchens. I do most of the cooking.

0:07:53 > 0:07:55I want a modern kitchen and I like nice bathrooms.

0:07:55 > 0:07:58That's where the modern bit comes in.

0:07:58 > 0:08:00As well as the property, you want a fair amount of land

0:08:00 > 0:08:03because you want to get back into horse-riding.

0:08:03 > 0:08:07That's right. I want a paddock for my horse. Which I haven't bought yet!

0:08:07 > 0:08:10After the perfect house...comes the horse to live the country dream.

0:08:10 > 0:08:13We've got lots of lovely properties to show you,

0:08:13 > 0:08:15all for a wonderful budget of...

0:08:15 > 0:08:17£650,000.

0:08:17 > 0:08:20£650,000, that's pretty good around here.

0:08:20 > 0:08:23I'm looking forward to showing you the properties.

0:08:23 > 0:08:25- Thank you.- Thank you.

0:08:25 > 0:08:29For that budget of £650,000, Eugene and Jane are looking for...

0:08:29 > 0:08:33a four-bedroom house with a kitchen to impress.

0:08:33 > 0:08:35Eugene needs a study as he works from home,

0:08:35 > 0:08:40and outside, Jane is looking for an acre of land to accommodate a horse.

0:08:40 > 0:08:44That all seems to be pretty reasonable, so it's time to get going.

0:08:44 > 0:08:48The first house on our shortlist is in the parish of Churchstanton,

0:08:48 > 0:08:50seven miles from Taunton

0:08:50 > 0:08:53and enviably sitting among the Blackdown Hills.

0:08:53 > 0:08:57Although the house sits in a beautiful rural position with just one neighbour,

0:08:57 > 0:09:00Jane and Eugene needn't worry about being isolated,

0:09:00 > 0:09:03as the small village of Churchinford is only a couple of miles away.

0:09:03 > 0:09:06There's the convenience of a shop and a village hall,

0:09:06 > 0:09:10and Jane will be delighted to know there's a local riding school.

0:09:10 > 0:09:12I can't wait to show them this first house,

0:09:12 > 0:09:14as it could be a dream come true for Jane.

0:09:14 > 0:09:18Beautiful entrance to this property. I love the explosion of colour here,

0:09:18 > 0:09:21but...we're here to look at the house itself.

0:09:21 > 0:09:23We have a barn conversion for you.

0:09:23 > 0:09:26I know barn conversions are something you particularly like...

0:09:26 > 0:09:29- Yes, definitely.- What are your first thoughts on this one?

0:09:29 > 0:09:31It's a very attractive house. Yeah.

0:09:31 > 0:09:33It's attractive, isolated...

0:09:33 > 0:09:38It is isolated - but with the isolation comes the peace and quiet

0:09:38 > 0:09:41and the tremendous views all the way around.

0:09:41 > 0:09:43I do like the er...front door.

0:09:43 > 0:09:47- Yeah, it's a lovely oak door, isn't it?- Super, yes.- Very welcoming.

0:09:47 > 0:09:49- Let's take a walk inside.- OK.

0:09:54 > 0:09:56Come on in...

0:09:56 > 0:09:58Step through here.

0:09:58 > 0:10:01A nice big hallway - and the back of that door is just gorgeous.

0:10:01 > 0:10:05- It's lovely.- Come straight through to the first reception room...

0:10:05 > 0:10:08- Oh, this is nice. - Yeah, it's really cosy.

0:10:08 > 0:10:12It's a cosy room, isn't it? And it's quite interesting, quirky -

0:10:12 > 0:10:14there's a lot of wood features in this property.

0:10:14 > 0:10:18- What do you think of it as a room for the two of you?- I like it.

0:10:18 > 0:10:19- It's very nice.- It's spacious...

0:10:19 > 0:10:24- It's a very welcoming room, isn't it?- Yes, it is.- Little touches.

0:10:24 > 0:10:27- There's another one right through here...- OK.- OK.

0:10:28 > 0:10:30Now, we step up into the second reception room,

0:10:30 > 0:10:33which is currently being used as a dining room.

0:10:33 > 0:10:36- What do you think of it? - Yeah, it's nice.

0:10:36 > 0:10:39- It's very spacious. - It's a good size, isn't it?

0:10:39 > 0:10:41You could fit a good-sized dining table in here.

0:10:41 > 0:10:45Again we've got a decorative fireplace, no wood burner...

0:10:45 > 0:10:47but lots of light coming in.

0:10:47 > 0:10:50Now, you've probably spotted the door there -

0:10:50 > 0:10:52it doesn't lead anywhere at the moment.

0:10:52 > 0:10:56On the other side there's space for you to build a garage, which we'll see outside.

0:10:56 > 0:10:58So you could turn it into something, but at the moment

0:10:58 > 0:11:01it's a bit more like a work of art! The door to nowhere(!)

0:11:01 > 0:11:06- What you need to see though, is the kitchen.- Definitely!- Back this way.

0:11:06 > 0:11:09'Jane is looking for a kitchen to wow her -

0:11:09 > 0:11:11'so how will this one fare?'

0:11:11 > 0:11:15Now, this kitchen fits the rest of the property -

0:11:15 > 0:11:17it is a very sort of countryfied kitchen...

0:11:17 > 0:11:19Well, it's very traditional,

0:11:19 > 0:11:25but one thing I am impressed with is the amount of work space that's uncluttered.

0:11:25 > 0:11:26And it's all in one place

0:11:26 > 0:11:29rather than a bit here and a bit on the other side of the room.

0:11:29 > 0:11:30What do YOU think?

0:11:30 > 0:11:32It's a kitchen(!)

0:11:32 > 0:11:35- DENISE LAUGHS - Oh, Eugene!

0:11:35 > 0:11:38"It's a kitchen"? Could be the heart of the home.

0:11:38 > 0:11:40A room you don't spend too much time in, then.

0:11:40 > 0:11:42- No.- No!

0:11:42 > 0:11:44- So this one's for you. - Yes, definitely.

0:11:44 > 0:11:45Could you work with this,

0:11:45 > 0:11:48or do you think if you moved into this property

0:11:48 > 0:11:51you'd want to rip it all out and put something ultra-modern in?

0:11:51 > 0:11:54I could work with it - there would be some changes, though.

0:11:54 > 0:11:56- But you've got the space to do it. - Yes.- The room is big enough.

0:11:56 > 0:12:00- Mm-hm.- And there's a bit more to it - come this way.

0:12:02 > 0:12:04- A breakfast room!- Oh, wow.

0:12:04 > 0:12:08- Wasn't expecting this.- No. - Yeah, a little bit more.

0:12:08 > 0:12:09Very nice room, this.

0:12:09 > 0:12:11It feels very comfortable.

0:12:11 > 0:12:15The proximity to the kitchen means you could be cooking and socialising at the same time...

0:12:15 > 0:12:17And nice views across the valley there.

0:12:17 > 0:12:20'The rural views are lovely from this house -

0:12:20 > 0:12:24'let's hope there as fond of what they're about to see upstairs.'

0:12:25 > 0:12:30Now, up here there's a surprisingly large hallway I think, for this property.

0:12:30 > 0:12:32There's four bedrooms -

0:12:32 > 0:12:35- three that way, and the master's this way.- OK.

0:12:36 > 0:12:38Now, this is currently the master bedroom...

0:12:39 > 0:12:42Good-sized room. What do you think for the two of you?

0:12:42 > 0:12:44I don't know where I'd fit my clothes.

0:12:44 > 0:12:46- DENISE LAUGHS - Right...

0:12:46 > 0:12:48No. It just doesn't do it for me.

0:12:48 > 0:12:51I just don't get the right feelings for it.

0:12:51 > 0:12:53- Not that good for you. - Honest opinion.

0:12:53 > 0:12:55I think I'd need a bigger room.

0:12:55 > 0:12:58- A bigger... It's the size!- Yeah.

0:12:59 > 0:13:03The bathroom is just next door - so let's have a look at that.

0:13:07 > 0:13:10- Very big bathroom...- Mm-hm. - ..for this property.

0:13:10 > 0:13:13Erm, my big issue is there's no shower.

0:13:13 > 0:13:17True... I will tell you that there is another shower in this property.

0:13:17 > 0:13:23- What would you do with this? - Well, I'd have to put a shower in here for a start. Erm...

0:13:23 > 0:13:25Change the bathroom suite.

0:13:25 > 0:13:28Change the bathroom suite, change the tiling...

0:13:28 > 0:13:31I'd want to make it part of the main bedroom.

0:13:31 > 0:13:34Good idea, actually. And then you'd get that en suite feeling.

0:13:34 > 0:13:37It would widen that space that you thought was too small,

0:13:37 > 0:13:39and it'd be better for the two of you.

0:13:39 > 0:13:43Let's see what else this property has to offer. Out there...

0:13:43 > 0:13:48'It sounds like Eugene and Jane definitely want to put their stamp on this place -

0:13:48 > 0:13:50'which is completely understandable.

0:13:50 > 0:13:52'Down the landing, one of the other bedrooms is a single -

0:13:52 > 0:13:57'but next door is a much larger room which the owners use as a study,

0:13:57 > 0:13:58'which might suit Eugene.

0:13:58 > 0:14:00'And that leaves just one more room.'

0:14:00 > 0:14:03Now, we do have an en suite room here...

0:14:03 > 0:14:04There's the shower you're looking for.

0:14:04 > 0:14:07- Toilet behind there...- Right. - ..and a double bedroom.

0:14:08 > 0:14:09- OK.- So a sort of guest room,

0:14:09 > 0:14:12- with a quirky little window out into the landing.- Yes.

0:14:12 > 0:14:15- Kind of quirky space, isn't it?- Yes.

0:14:15 > 0:14:18- As a guest room I think it's fine. - No, it is fine.

0:14:18 > 0:14:23- You've seen what the inside of the property has to offer - time to go outside.- OK.

0:14:23 > 0:14:27'I think Eugene and Jane have mixed feelings about this house,

0:14:27 > 0:14:31'but the setting is superb, and what comes with this property might sway them.'

0:14:34 > 0:14:37Now, this property does come with a fair amount of land.

0:14:37 > 0:14:41At the front when we came in there was about an acre's worth of paddock...

0:14:41 > 0:14:43and at the back here, you've got three acres.

0:14:43 > 0:14:46- Plenty of room for a horse to run around in.- More than one horse!

0:14:46 > 0:14:49Exactly. As you can see, the current owners have got one.

0:14:49 > 0:14:52You also get these two barns.

0:14:52 > 0:14:56Now, that far one is being used as a sort of stable at the moment -

0:14:56 > 0:14:59you've got a tack room in there so it's all kitted out -

0:14:59 > 0:15:01- Is it enough?- It's perfect. It's more than enough.

0:15:01 > 0:15:03- Couldn't ask for any more?- No!

0:15:03 > 0:15:05What about you, Eugene?

0:15:06 > 0:15:08It's...

0:15:08 > 0:15:11It's cosy - but I do see a lot of work to be done.

0:15:11 > 0:15:14The question is, how much do you think it's on the market for?

0:15:14 > 0:15:18Erm...I would say £575,000.

0:15:18 > 0:15:22- Mm-hm.- And I would say...595.

0:15:22 > 0:15:23Eugene, you are spot on!

0:15:23 > 0:15:26That's exactly what it's on the market for at the moment.

0:15:26 > 0:15:30- Go back in, have a look around... and I will see you later on. - OK. Thank you.

0:15:30 > 0:15:33So, at £595,000,

0:15:33 > 0:15:36this barn conversion is well within their budget.

0:15:36 > 0:15:40It sits in an idyllic rural setting in the Blackdown Hills,

0:15:40 > 0:15:42has three reception rooms,

0:15:42 > 0:15:45four bedrooms - one of which Eugene could use as a study -

0:15:45 > 0:15:48and comes with just under five acres of land,

0:15:48 > 0:15:50including some outbuildings

0:15:50 > 0:15:52which could be ideal for Jane's horsey dreams.

0:15:52 > 0:15:55I like this room. It's got a nice feeling about it.

0:15:55 > 0:15:59- It's got a lovely scenery out there, hasn't it?- Yeah, it has.

0:16:00 > 0:16:04- I'd want it as a TV room, I think. - Yeah, me too.- Just to relax in, in the evening.

0:16:04 > 0:16:07My overall impression is the house is a bit too small for us.

0:16:07 > 0:16:11Although having said that, it would be fantastic for the horse.

0:16:11 > 0:16:15There's so much land, and stables, and that's a real positive.

0:16:15 > 0:16:18I quite like this room... What do you think?

0:16:18 > 0:16:21Yeah, it's a lovely room. It's very cosy.

0:16:21 > 0:16:23- Mmm.- I like the log-burning stove,

0:16:23 > 0:16:26- it'd be lovely here in the wintertime.- Yeah, it would.

0:16:26 > 0:16:29I think this house has a lot of positive things about it,

0:16:29 > 0:16:31it's got a lot of character -

0:16:31 > 0:16:34but on the negative side, I see a lot of investment needed.

0:16:35 > 0:16:38- Hello!- Hello.- Have you seen enough? - Yes, I think so.

0:16:38 > 0:16:42Good. Because there's a lot more to do - so let's get moving.

0:16:48 > 0:16:50Eugene may be back on his old stomping ground,

0:16:50 > 0:16:54but for Jane there's plenty of new sights to explore.

0:16:54 > 0:16:57So they're taking the opportunity to visit Taunton,

0:16:57 > 0:16:59Somerset's county town.

0:16:59 > 0:17:03And Jill Cooper, a local guide, is showing them around.

0:17:03 > 0:17:07This is Bath Place. This used to be the main packhorse route to the West.

0:17:07 > 0:17:09They used to come through from the market up there,

0:17:09 > 0:17:13and you can imagine the old packhorses going down through there and coming out the other end.

0:17:13 > 0:17:17The trouble is at the other end was the river, so it was a little bit boggy.

0:17:17 > 0:17:20So eventually they built the main road over that side.

0:17:20 > 0:17:22But that's made this rather nice,

0:17:22 > 0:17:25because it's now sort of crafty shops, and interesting little shops,

0:17:25 > 0:17:26and a rather nice place to come.

0:17:27 > 0:17:30The town is packed with historic buildings -

0:17:30 > 0:17:32including a 12th-century Norman fortress,

0:17:32 > 0:17:34now a hotel which in recent years

0:17:34 > 0:17:36has nurtured celebrity chefs in the making

0:17:36 > 0:17:39such as Gary Rhodes and Phil Vickery.

0:17:39 > 0:17:42But one of the most important historic buildings is Taunton Castle,

0:17:42 > 0:17:46which has been keeping watch over the town for 900 years.

0:17:46 > 0:17:49Today, it's a Grade I-listed ancient monument.

0:17:49 > 0:17:52There's plenty of history to soak up here -

0:17:52 > 0:17:54a trip to this county however wouldn't be complete

0:17:54 > 0:17:59without learning a little about one of Somerset's most famous exports -

0:17:59 > 0:18:00cider.

0:18:00 > 0:18:02Production of the drink dates back centuries,

0:18:02 > 0:18:05and today Somerset's 100-plus cider producers

0:18:05 > 0:18:09bring in nearly half a billion pounds to the local economy.

0:18:09 > 0:18:14Eugene and Jane are visiting the orchard of one of the largest producers in Somerset.

0:18:14 > 0:18:18These are standard apple trees - these are the big, traditional type of tree.

0:18:18 > 0:18:22A lot of the ciders now, they make them from one apple so

0:18:22 > 0:18:24a bit like you had a single malt whisky,

0:18:24 > 0:18:26you could have a single apple cider.

0:18:26 > 0:18:29Either sweet, or dry, or medium, to your taste...

0:18:30 > 0:18:33Beneath the apple trees Kunekune pigs graze the orchard,

0:18:33 > 0:18:37keeping down the grass and weeds and feeding on the windfalls.

0:18:37 > 0:18:42And above, amongst the branches, a well-known Christmas plant thrives.

0:18:42 > 0:18:44Some of them have got mistletoe in them,

0:18:44 > 0:18:47and of course that's one of the traditions of the cider orchard,

0:18:47 > 0:18:51the mistletoe, the wassailing in January...

0:18:51 > 0:18:53It's a great time of drinking and making merry.

0:18:53 > 0:18:56- But that is all part of the Somerset scene.- Mm-hm.

0:18:57 > 0:19:00And it's a scene Eugene and Jane can't wait to join in

0:19:00 > 0:19:02when they find their perfect home here.

0:19:04 > 0:19:08I'm really excited to show Jane and Eugene our next house.

0:19:08 > 0:19:13It's in Sandford Hill, just two miles from Eugene's relatives in Bridgwater.

0:19:13 > 0:19:18Jane will be pleased to know that there's an equestrian centre close by, in the village of Cannington.

0:19:18 > 0:19:24Here, the Church of St Mary dominates the skyline with its tower that dates back to the 14th century.

0:19:24 > 0:19:29Back at ground level, the River Parrett runs through the heart of Cannington

0:19:29 > 0:19:33under a charming stone bridge, providing an air of tranquillity.

0:19:33 > 0:19:38We've brought you closer to your old stomping ground for this property. We're near to Bridgwater,

0:19:38 > 0:19:42but I know how much you love barn conversions, and I thought

0:19:42 > 0:19:46it would be worth bringing you close to the A39 to show you this property.

0:19:46 > 0:19:49- Yes. That looks fantastic. - It looks lovely.

0:19:49 > 0:19:51Just what we're looking for.

0:19:51 > 0:19:52Good, smiles from both of you.

0:19:52 > 0:19:55This is one of three barns in this complex,

0:19:55 > 0:20:00all attached to this manor house originally, and this house dates back to the Domesday Book.

0:20:00 > 0:20:05So there is a lot of history here, although the conversion was done very recently -

0:20:05 > 0:20:10so recently, that it's unlived-in and unfurnished. We'll be looking at an empty property.

0:20:10 > 0:20:14- How do you feel about that? - Certainly floats MY boat.

0:20:14 > 0:20:17That's what I want to hear you say, Eugene! You're happy...?

0:20:17 > 0:20:19Yeah. Fantastic.

0:20:19 > 0:20:22- Looks good from the outside. Let's have a look in.- OK.

0:20:26 > 0:20:29Come on in!

0:20:29 > 0:20:31You're quite excited about this one.

0:20:31 > 0:20:35- Definitely.- A nice entrance hallway here, a downstairs cloakroom...

0:20:35 > 0:20:40But, come into this living room and tell me what you think.

0:20:40 > 0:20:44- Wow... Oh, my goodness. - That's fantastic.

0:20:44 > 0:20:46Is it big enough for you, Eugene(?)

0:20:46 > 0:20:48Yeah, this is great.

0:20:49 > 0:20:54This is one big space that you can use as a living room and dining room.

0:20:54 > 0:20:57You can see from here that it leads on to the kitchen.

0:20:57 > 0:21:00It's very open-plan, as you'd expect with a barn conversion.

0:21:00 > 0:21:02Underfloor heating.

0:21:02 > 0:21:04- Brilliant. - Right throughout the ground floor.

0:21:04 > 0:21:07It's a blank canvas. So what are your thoughts?

0:21:07 > 0:21:11I love it. I love it, very much so.

0:21:11 > 0:21:13Yeah, I like this. It's got a nice feeling.

0:21:13 > 0:21:17It's very echoey, but that's because there's no furniture.

0:21:17 > 0:21:18You can do what you like.

0:21:18 > 0:21:22'I think we can safely say this room has scored top marks.

0:21:22 > 0:21:25'I hope the kitchen proves to be another winner.'

0:21:25 > 0:21:27- Gosh.- Oh, this is nice.

0:21:27 > 0:21:30- This is lovely. - Thought you might like this.

0:21:30 > 0:21:32And...

0:21:32 > 0:21:34- Look at the view. - That's gorgeous, isn't it?

0:21:34 > 0:21:38- Might even entice YOU to step into the kitchen.- It might.

0:21:38 > 0:21:40I like the flooring, too. That's nice.

0:21:40 > 0:21:42I'd be more than happy with this.

0:21:42 > 0:21:45- Big enough for you?- Yeah, loads of counter space. Perfect.

0:21:45 > 0:21:49'I knew this wonderful kitchen would be a hit - and next door

0:21:49 > 0:21:54'there's the bonus of a utility room for hiding the white goods. But there's lots more to see.'

0:21:55 > 0:21:58So, over the other side of the barn,

0:21:58 > 0:22:04you get what could be a completely separate annexe, because you have your own entrance here...

0:22:04 > 0:22:05and all of this space.

0:22:05 > 0:22:08Wow...

0:22:08 > 0:22:11I was expecting a tiny little room.

0:22:11 > 0:22:13But what do YOU think you'd do with it?

0:22:13 > 0:22:15I think it would be my office.

0:22:15 > 0:22:17I had a feeling you were going to say that.

0:22:17 > 0:22:21I see it as a bedroom, actually, but...a guest bedroom.

0:22:21 > 0:22:23- Guest, rather than the master?- Yeah.

0:22:23 > 0:22:26Wouldn't be tempted to have the master on the ground floor?

0:22:26 > 0:22:28Well, it could be, yeah...

0:22:28 > 0:22:31'This new barn conversion is an ideal shell

0:22:31 > 0:22:36'that would offer Eugene and Jane the perfect opportunity to create their dream home.'

0:22:36 > 0:22:41Now, up here...you have four bedrooms and a family bathroom.

0:22:41 > 0:22:43So let's have a look at the bathroom first of all.

0:22:44 > 0:22:46Oh, that's nice. A nice big bath.

0:22:46 > 0:22:51- Nicely finished, nice tiles. - Mm-hm. Yep. Nice floor...

0:22:51 > 0:22:55- You wouldn't be ripping this out and starting again? - No. Absolutely not, no.- Good.

0:22:55 > 0:22:59'Down the corridor is the master, finished to a high standard

0:22:59 > 0:23:03'with beautiful vaulted ceilings and original timber beams.'

0:23:03 > 0:23:05Wow, this is lovely, isn't it?

0:23:05 > 0:23:08- Amazing.- I love it.- Love it?!

0:23:08 > 0:23:11- Yes. Absolutely. - That's a strong emotion!

0:23:11 > 0:23:15- No, it's amazing.- I thought you might say it's a little too small.

0:23:15 > 0:23:20It is significantly smaller than our current bedroom - but how much time do we spend in the bedroom?

0:23:20 > 0:23:23Not enough.

0:23:25 > 0:23:27Too much information, Eugene!

0:23:27 > 0:23:30Maybe you'll spend more now, cos lying in your bed

0:23:30 > 0:23:34you can look out of those strategically placed windows.

0:23:34 > 0:23:37It's got a nice feeling about it and it's still a decent-sized bedroom.

0:23:37 > 0:23:40OK, we're spoilt where we are now, but...

0:23:40 > 0:23:43No, this is more than adequate.

0:23:43 > 0:23:49It may be smaller than your current bedroom, but you do get an en suite shower room -

0:23:49 > 0:23:52and this room could either be the fifth bedroom,

0:23:52 > 0:23:56or I see it as a dressing room. Lots of wardrobe space for you!

0:23:56 > 0:23:58Fantastic.

0:23:58 > 0:24:04'There are two other bedrooms upstairs - but will they be able to visualise their furniture in here?

0:24:04 > 0:24:08'All that's left is to have a look around outside and talk money.

0:24:08 > 0:24:11'Eugene and Jane clearly love this place.

0:24:11 > 0:24:15'If Jane likes the outside space, we might have a sale on our hands.'

0:24:19 > 0:24:22So you have a lovely patio area here.

0:24:22 > 0:24:25Barbecues, outside dining, whatever you like.

0:24:25 > 0:24:30And this is the land that comes with the property, this fenced area.

0:24:30 > 0:24:33- So all in all, it's around about an acre.- OK.- Right.

0:24:33 > 0:24:36- What are your thoughts? - Erm... Not enough land.

0:24:36 > 0:24:40I thought you might say that. Not enough for the horse to run around.

0:24:40 > 0:24:46OK. I should let you know that you could purchase a little bit extra, up to the trees there.

0:24:46 > 0:24:48- Right...- It's negotiable,

0:24:48 > 0:24:51but they're saying maybe £10,000 to £20,000.

0:24:51 > 0:24:53- OK.- Would that be enough space for a horse?

0:24:53 > 0:24:55That would be, yes, definitely.

0:24:55 > 0:24:58OK, that changes that. Any other downsides?

0:24:58 > 0:25:01The only other thing I'd say is the noise of the traffic.

0:25:01 > 0:25:03I had a feeling you might say that as well.

0:25:03 > 0:25:07You can really appreciate from here that you are by the A39.

0:25:07 > 0:25:10- Yes.- Amazing views.- Yes. - Is it something you could live with?

0:25:10 > 0:25:13- Yes.- Yes.- Definitely, yes.

0:25:13 > 0:25:15No hesitation there!

0:25:15 > 0:25:19That all leads us to the big question, how much would you have to pay to own this property?

0:25:19 > 0:25:21Let's turn around, have another look.

0:25:23 > 0:25:25- That could be your kitchen, there. - Yes.

0:25:25 > 0:25:27Give me a figure.

0:25:27 > 0:25:30I would have to say at least £650,000.

0:25:30 > 0:25:32Right up there on the budget.

0:25:32 > 0:25:35I would say 625.

0:25:35 > 0:25:37- You being optimistic there?- I am.

0:25:37 > 0:25:39You are spot on.

0:25:39 > 0:25:41- Right.- You win this round.

0:25:41 > 0:25:44It is on the market for £650,000.

0:25:44 > 0:25:49- You would have no money left over, but you can afford it.- That's right.

0:25:49 > 0:25:51Thoughts?

0:25:51 > 0:25:54Very happy.

0:25:54 > 0:25:56Yes, I like it. What do you think, Eugene?

0:25:56 > 0:25:58I do like it. I do like it.

0:25:58 > 0:26:00- Like it a lot? - No, I do like it a lot.

0:26:00 > 0:26:03I think you both need to start planning what you'll do

0:26:03 > 0:26:07with all of those rooms and I'll catch up with you later.

0:26:07 > 0:26:09OK. Thank you.

0:26:09 > 0:26:14What a hit! They are even willing to compromise on that road being so close by.

0:26:14 > 0:26:17Can we top this property? You'll have to wait and see.

0:26:17 > 0:26:23Jane was on the money at £650,000 for this high-spec barn conversion.

0:26:23 > 0:26:25It has a huge, impressive reception room,

0:26:25 > 0:26:29the spectacular kitchen Jane was looking for,

0:26:29 > 0:26:32four to five bedrooms, one of which could be used as a study

0:26:32 > 0:26:36and one acre of land with the option to buy more for when Jane buys her horse.

0:26:36 > 0:26:38It's a shame about that road, though, isn't it?

0:26:38 > 0:26:41It is something we could live with, I'm sure.

0:26:41 > 0:26:42Look at the view, though.

0:26:42 > 0:26:45I know, it's beautiful, it's lovely.

0:26:47 > 0:26:50- What do you think about this kitchen?- It's gorgeous.

0:26:50 > 0:26:54- It's fantastic, isn't it?- It is. - Look at all this worktop space.

0:26:54 > 0:26:57You can just imagine all the dinner parties, can you?

0:26:57 > 0:27:00- I can.- It's lovely. - I might even take up cooking!

0:27:00 > 0:27:03That will be novel!

0:27:03 > 0:27:08- I like this.- I do, too. I get a really nice feeling off of it.

0:27:08 > 0:27:10I absolutely love this house.

0:27:10 > 0:27:13I could see myself living in it, it's just perfect.

0:27:13 > 0:27:16I can't find any faults with it whatsoever.

0:27:16 > 0:27:17It's all positive.

0:27:17 > 0:27:21We'll definitely think about putting in an offer for it.

0:27:21 > 0:27:23I think it's an amazing house.

0:27:23 > 0:27:30The only criticism would be the A39, the noise. Not a lot we can do about that.

0:27:30 > 0:27:35The land, well, there's the opportunity of increasing the size of it.

0:27:35 > 0:27:37So it's a definite contender.

0:27:38 > 0:27:41- Come on, you two.- OK.

0:27:41 > 0:27:44I had to drag you out of this place!

0:27:44 > 0:27:47We haven't finished yet. The journey is not over.

0:27:49 > 0:27:53With Eugene growing up in Somerset, he's reasonably well acquainted

0:27:53 > 0:27:59with the county and familiar with one of its attractions, Hestercombe Gardens.

0:27:59 > 0:28:04But not coming from the area myself, I'm lucky to have the opportunity to explore.

0:28:04 > 0:28:07Today the site is celebrated for the unique trio of gardens

0:28:07 > 0:28:11that span three centuries of garden history and design.

0:28:11 > 0:28:16Little more than 13 years ago, however, a huge part of the estate was massively overgrown.

0:28:16 > 0:28:21The transformation is thanks to the dogged determination of one man, Philip White,

0:28:21 > 0:28:26who at time was working for Somerset Wildlife Trust from an office at Hestercombe House

0:28:26 > 0:28:30and stumbled on the hidden treasure whilst on a lunchtime walk.

0:28:30 > 0:28:35I just had this very strong feeling I wanted to restore this wonderful site.

0:28:35 > 0:28:39I can't really understand why I reacted as strongly

0:28:39 > 0:28:43as I did and it became an obsession in the end that I had to restore it.

0:28:43 > 0:28:45- A real labour of love?- Absolutely.

0:28:45 > 0:28:51My great-uncle was one of the gardeners here in 1900 and his father was a shepherd on the estate.

0:28:51 > 0:28:54- So it was in the blood? - It must be.- You were born to do it.

0:28:54 > 0:29:00Today it's a showcase he can be proud of but it involved an incredible amount of work.

0:29:00 > 0:29:04Philip had the help of just one other man and between them,

0:29:04 > 0:29:07they restored 20 acres of gardens in just two years,

0:29:07 > 0:29:12including removing 17,000 tonnes of silt out of the lake.

0:29:12 > 0:29:14How did you get the funds? It's a lot of money.

0:29:14 > 0:29:18With the lake, particularly, we were very fortunate because

0:29:18 > 0:29:22we had a very generous grant from the John Paul Getty Foundation.

0:29:22 > 0:29:28I discovered afterwards, when I thanked them for having given us this grant, they said,

0:29:28 > 0:29:32"Mr Getty was well-known for supporting lost causes."

0:29:32 > 0:29:34The lost cause turned out to be a winner.

0:29:34 > 0:29:38This Georgian landscape garden was designed in 1750

0:29:38 > 0:29:41by the then owner of the house, Coplestone Warre Bampfylde.

0:29:41 > 0:29:43To view his masterpiece, he created a series

0:29:43 > 0:29:49of decorative buildings known as seats, which also fell into disrepair.

0:29:49 > 0:29:52This is one of the buildings that we have recreated. This is the octagon summerhouse.

0:29:52 > 0:29:56You'll see that it frames the most wonderful view of Taunton.

0:29:56 > 0:29:58- It really does, this is spectacular. - I know.

0:29:58 > 0:30:05This was put here by Bampfylde in the 1750s as part of his design for the garden.

0:30:05 > 0:30:11What he was doing was creating a series of views into the garden and then out into the Vale of Taunton.

0:30:11 > 0:30:14They're all framed by these little buildings.

0:30:14 > 0:30:1917th century Italian paintings had a big influence on the way they designed the landscape.

0:30:19 > 0:30:23In a way, they were wanting to recreate the landscape around Rome

0:30:23 > 0:30:27and actually have their little bit of Italy in England.

0:30:27 > 0:30:31The garden is mesmerising, but for Philip, the most exciting moment

0:30:31 > 0:30:33was when the waterfall came back to life.

0:30:33 > 0:30:38When we signalled that we wanted the water to be released to come over the waterfall,

0:30:38 > 0:30:39there was a four-minute wait

0:30:39 > 0:30:45because the water has to come 300 yards to get to the top of the waterfall.

0:30:45 > 0:30:47You thought it was never going to come and then all of a sudden,

0:30:47 > 0:30:52it poured over, this brown water came over the cascade. It was very exciting.

0:30:52 > 0:30:56I have to say, just spending a little bit of time in this garden, I can completely see

0:30:56 > 0:31:00how you fell in love with the place and decided to set forth

0:31:00 > 0:31:03on this labour of love and I'm very pleased that you're keeping it up.

0:31:03 > 0:31:06- Thank you very much for coming. - It's been a real pleasure.

0:31:06 > 0:31:08Thank you.

0:31:14 > 0:31:18As the evening creeps up on our house-hunters,

0:31:18 > 0:31:21it's time to head back to the hotel and reflect on the search so far.

0:31:23 > 0:31:26So what did you think about the house on Blackdown Hills?

0:31:26 > 0:31:28- I loved the entrance.- Yes.

0:31:28 > 0:31:32- I liked the breakfast/TV room.- Yes.

0:31:32 > 0:31:35I have some concerns about the kitchen though,

0:31:35 > 0:31:38because it's smaller than our house at the moment, isn't it?

0:31:38 > 0:31:42- And it was really isolated there as well.- I agree.

0:31:42 > 0:31:45What did you think of the newly renovated barn conversion we saw?

0:31:45 > 0:31:48That, I really, really liked.

0:31:48 > 0:31:50It had that huge living room.

0:31:50 > 0:31:55The kitchen was spectacular with a spectacular view.

0:31:55 > 0:31:57It's got everything we want

0:31:57 > 0:31:59and I can see our furniture in there already.

0:31:59 > 0:32:03I'm really glad you agree with me cos I absolutely loved that house!

0:32:03 > 0:32:08- Be interesting to see what tomorrow brings.- Yeah, looking forward to it.

0:32:11 > 0:32:15Eugene and Jane from Swanwick are looking to move to Somerset,

0:32:15 > 0:32:20the county of Eugene's childhood and have £650,000 to make the move.

0:32:20 > 0:32:25So far they've taken a look at two houses and coming up, there are more monster properties in store.

0:32:25 > 0:32:28- Oh, wow!- Gosh!- It's big.

0:32:28 > 0:32:31And a mystery house that's fit for a queen.

0:32:31 > 0:32:34Is it too stately, too grand for you, or just fitting?

0:32:34 > 0:32:36No, it's great.

0:32:40 > 0:32:45Well, after yesterday, it's very clear that Jane and Eugene have grand aspirations.

0:32:45 > 0:32:48There may be only two of them but it certainly seems

0:32:48 > 0:32:52a case of the bigger the better and who are we to disappoint?

0:32:52 > 0:32:57We're heading further north this morning to Badgworth, close to the southern edge of the Mendip Hills.

0:32:57 > 0:33:02For a larger selection of amenities, Jane and Eugene may like to visit Axbridge, three miles away.

0:33:02 > 0:33:05The town prospered in the Middle Ages due to its wool industry.

0:33:05 > 0:33:11Later came Georgian architecture, which were often facades on earlier buildings.

0:33:11 > 0:33:15Today, however, it's a neat town, popular with people from nearby villages.

0:33:15 > 0:33:18Our next house has a nice surprise in store for Jane.

0:33:18 > 0:33:20This morning we've brought you to Badgworth.

0:33:20 > 0:33:26I thought I'd start by showing you the land that comes with this property. Because it's all of this.

0:33:26 > 0:33:28- Wow!- Seven acres.

0:33:28 > 0:33:30It's quite a lot.

0:33:30 > 0:33:33I know you've got a big property at the moment.

0:33:33 > 0:33:35You do want space for the horses.

0:33:35 > 0:33:37I think you could have as many as you like,

0:33:37 > 0:33:41cantering across those fields. What do you think so far?

0:33:41 > 0:33:42It's beautiful here. It's really scenic.

0:33:42 > 0:33:45It is scenic, isn't it?

0:33:45 > 0:33:48You wanted space, you've got a lot of house at the moment.

0:33:48 > 0:33:51We've decided to go one bigger than that.

0:33:51 > 0:33:54Come and have a look.

0:33:56 > 0:33:58This is the house.

0:33:58 > 0:34:01- Wow!- Gosh!- It's big.

0:34:01 > 0:34:03It's a big Somerset long house.

0:34:03 > 0:34:08- Oh, I see.- It dates back to the 16th century, parts of it and it's been added to over the centuries.

0:34:08 > 0:34:11There's a lot of it. What you think you think?

0:34:11 > 0:34:13It's beautiful. Very beautiful.

0:34:13 > 0:34:16- What you think, Eugene? - Charming place.

0:34:16 > 0:34:21Charming, beautiful - does it fit your dream of a country home?

0:34:21 > 0:34:24- It's looking good. - Good, let's have a look inside.

0:34:24 > 0:34:25OK.

0:34:30 > 0:34:32In here, what do you think?

0:34:32 > 0:34:34Look behind you. You can see the stonework.

0:34:34 > 0:34:36- Oh, yes. That's nice.- It's beautiful.

0:34:36 > 0:34:39The first room I want to show you is through here.

0:34:40 > 0:34:44- One reception room for you. - That's nice.- It's very nice.

0:34:44 > 0:34:46- It's really cosy.- Yes.

0:34:46 > 0:34:48Big enough space?

0:34:48 > 0:34:50- I would think so, yes. - It's nice, isn't it?

0:34:50 > 0:34:54- You got a working fireplace here, these lovely beams.- It's nice.

0:34:54 > 0:34:56Could you picture your furniture in here?

0:34:56 > 0:35:00Or you are using this room as a TV room or a reading room?

0:35:00 > 0:35:03A good room to relax in, definitely.

0:35:03 > 0:35:05It's just one of the many in this property.

0:35:05 > 0:35:08- We will have to keep moving.- OK. - Back over that way.

0:35:10 > 0:35:12Through here.

0:35:12 > 0:35:16- Wow, what a lovely fireplace. - It's impressive, isn't it?

0:35:16 > 0:35:20This is even more cosy than the last one, isn't it? This is nice.

0:35:20 > 0:35:21I love that window seat.

0:35:21 > 0:35:24- Yes.- There's a lot of features in this room.

0:35:24 > 0:35:28Yes, my cat would love that window seat in the sun.

0:35:28 > 0:35:32A place for the cat, that huge inglenook, although there's not a working fire in there.

0:35:32 > 0:35:36I think they've made good use of it with the TV space.

0:35:36 > 0:35:37What do you think, Eugene?

0:35:37 > 0:35:40- I like it.- Like it, that's good.

0:35:40 > 0:35:43- Let's keep moving, because there's more.- OK.

0:35:43 > 0:35:48This house are just keeps tumbling on and here we fall

0:35:48 > 0:35:51- into a very huge kitchen. - That is big, isn't it?

0:35:51 > 0:35:54- It's massive.- Yes.

0:35:54 > 0:35:57It's got a regular cooker as well as the range. That's nice.

0:35:57 > 0:35:59It's got room for everything.

0:35:59 > 0:36:03This big island in the middle so you've got extra preparation area.

0:36:03 > 0:36:05Yes, I think you could work well in this kitchen.

0:36:05 > 0:36:09Then, at the back there, space for a huge dining table.

0:36:09 > 0:36:12It's open-plan, yet it's got a lot of character features.

0:36:12 > 0:36:14Yes. It's nice.

0:36:14 > 0:36:16It's got a peaceful feeling about it.

0:36:16 > 0:36:19I'm delighted they're getting a good vibe from this house.

0:36:19 > 0:36:24Off the kitchen is a large utility room with plenty of storage and a cloakroom, too.

0:36:24 > 0:36:29They won't be short of bedrooms here as there are seven arranged over two floors.

0:36:29 > 0:36:32Just at the top of the stairs on the first floor is one of my favourites.

0:36:36 > 0:36:38This is nice.

0:36:38 > 0:36:39This is lovely.

0:36:39 > 0:36:42- Beautiful.- Yeah.

0:36:42 > 0:36:44A nice window seat again.

0:36:44 > 0:36:46You've got the Victorian fireplace there.

0:36:46 > 0:36:50- That's nice.- It's a good-sized double, as are all of the bedrooms.

0:36:50 > 0:36:55- And the original floor. - It's a good guest bedroom for you.

0:36:55 > 0:36:57This is the guest bedroom?

0:36:57 > 0:36:59- It's not the master!- Wow!

0:36:59 > 0:37:02- Does that make it even better? - Yes.- Yes, it does.

0:37:02 > 0:37:05The remaining three bedrooms on this floor are all spacious,

0:37:05 > 0:37:09light and airy doubles and are all nicely decorated.

0:37:09 > 0:37:15To ease congestion with all these rooms, there are two family bathrooms.

0:37:15 > 0:37:18But I know Eugene is waiting to see what could be their room.

0:37:20 > 0:37:24- I think this is much more what you'd call a master bedroom. - This is lovely.

0:37:24 > 0:37:26- It's gorgeous.- It's really pretty.

0:37:26 > 0:37:30- It's a big room, isn't it? - Yes, it is.- Big furniture here.

0:37:30 > 0:37:32You've got the wonderful views.

0:37:32 > 0:37:35- And the nice flooring.- The great flooring.- A nice fireplace.

0:37:35 > 0:37:38Like every other room in this house, there's more to it.

0:37:38 > 0:37:43- The en-suite's just over there, go and have a look.- OK.

0:37:43 > 0:37:45- It's lovely, isn't it? - It is very nice.

0:37:47 > 0:37:49This is a nice room, isn't it?

0:37:49 > 0:37:51- It is.- I like the shower.

0:37:51 > 0:37:53It's very spacious.

0:37:53 > 0:37:55This one's fine. It's beautiful.

0:37:55 > 0:37:57- No changes necessary.- No.

0:37:57 > 0:37:59- No.- Good!

0:37:59 > 0:38:00Fantastic.

0:38:03 > 0:38:07I very much doubt they'd want to change anything on the top floor up in the eaves,

0:38:07 > 0:38:10where there are two more beautiful bedrooms

0:38:10 > 0:38:15with superb exposed beams and one of the rooms has its own cosy bathroom.

0:38:15 > 0:38:20This rounds off our tour of the inside of the house but there's plenty more on offer outside.

0:38:20 > 0:38:22Right!

0:38:22 > 0:38:26At the back is an office complex that belongs to the current owners

0:38:26 > 0:38:29but they're keeping this and it's not being sold with the property.

0:38:29 > 0:38:33There is a double garage and as if there weren't enough rooms in the house,

0:38:33 > 0:38:36there's also a self-contained, two-bedroom annexe.

0:38:36 > 0:38:38- A lot to take in. - Yes.- There is.- Definitely.

0:38:38 > 0:38:40Offices, garage, annexe...

0:38:40 > 0:38:42- What do you think of that? - It's lovely.

0:38:42 > 0:38:45- It's really nice.- Massive, though.

0:38:45 > 0:38:47- Yes.- Massive. Lovely?

0:38:47 > 0:38:49More than you were expecting?

0:38:49 > 0:38:52- Yes.- Absolutely.- It's a beautiful house, really beautiful.

0:38:52 > 0:38:56And we're not finished yet. There's another surprise. This way.

0:38:56 > 0:38:58OK.

0:39:01 > 0:39:04This is the house that just keeps on giving.

0:39:04 > 0:39:06- Because back here...- Gosh!

0:39:06 > 0:39:07- Wow!- A swimming pool.

0:39:07 > 0:39:10- That's nice, isn't it?- It's deep.

0:39:10 > 0:39:13- It's not a small one, is it? - No. It's lovely.

0:39:13 > 0:39:16Heated, too, by the solar panels over there.

0:39:16 > 0:39:19- That's even better.- Yes.- Let's have a look at the garden.- OK.

0:39:23 > 0:39:27So finishing the grand tour, at the front of the house,

0:39:27 > 0:39:30this is where you have a very neat, manageable garden.

0:39:30 > 0:39:33Probably just about right, I think.

0:39:33 > 0:39:35I think so, yes, after the rest of it.

0:39:35 > 0:39:40It's south-facing, so a lovely suntrap here for you to relax in.

0:39:40 > 0:39:45The question is how much do think this sprawling property is on the market for?

0:39:45 > 0:39:49I think it would have to be at least £700,000.

0:39:49 > 0:39:52I would say 685.

0:39:52 > 0:39:54- Over your budget?- Yes.

0:39:54 > 0:39:56And I can see why you would say that.

0:39:56 > 0:39:59Do you know what? You can afford this.

0:39:59 > 0:40:03- It's on the market at £650,000.- Wow!

0:40:03 > 0:40:07I can't believe that. All that house?

0:40:07 > 0:40:09- Taking it all in? - Yes, there's a lot to think about.

0:40:09 > 0:40:11There is a lot to think about.

0:40:11 > 0:40:15- Just because there is so much. - It looks excellent value for money.

0:40:15 > 0:40:17A home you could live in for a very long time.

0:40:17 > 0:40:19And a home you've got to explore.

0:40:19 > 0:40:21So off you go. I will see you later on.

0:40:21 > 0:40:27- OK, brilliant.- I love it when my house hunters get a great surprise when I reveal the price.

0:40:27 > 0:40:31And you do get a lot of square footage for £650,000.

0:40:31 > 0:40:37There are three reception rooms, seven bedrooms with two en-suites, a two-bedroom annexe

0:40:37 > 0:40:42and just under seven acres of land providing more than enough room for a horse.

0:40:42 > 0:40:45- It's lovely. - It's absolutely massive.

0:40:45 > 0:40:49It is, isn't it? What a lovely room. I really like this house.

0:40:49 > 0:40:54There wasn't a single room I didn't like in it. It was massive.

0:40:54 > 0:40:55It's like a maze.

0:40:55 > 0:40:58We will have to buy an awful lot more furniture to fill it.

0:40:58 > 0:41:01The thoughts are all very positive about it.

0:41:01 > 0:41:04We are going to have to do some thinking, though.

0:41:04 > 0:41:06Beautiful room, though. Very spacious, isn't it?

0:41:06 > 0:41:09Yes. Nice size. I like this.

0:41:09 > 0:41:14It got character, it's got a really warm feeling about it.

0:41:14 > 0:41:17Every room has got its own individuality about it.

0:41:17 > 0:41:19The outside's beautiful.

0:41:19 > 0:41:25It's in great surroundings. The only downside is it is absolutely huge

0:41:25 > 0:41:28and I really don't know how much time I would have available

0:41:28 > 0:41:30to maintain a house of this size.

0:41:30 > 0:41:34Do you think they're lost? They've been a while. Here they are!

0:41:34 > 0:41:39I was starting to wonder if we were ever going to find you again.

0:41:39 > 0:41:41You've made your way out and we haven't finished yet.

0:41:41 > 0:41:44- OK.- Right.

0:41:49 > 0:41:54A large part of Eugene and Jane's move to Somerset is fuelled by their desire to spend more time together.

0:41:54 > 0:41:57Sports enthusiast Eugene already enjoys kayaking.

0:41:57 > 0:42:01He can't wait to spend more time on the water and want to encourage Jane.

0:42:01 > 0:42:07With this in mind, we've arranged a kayaking session at Wimbleball Lake in the Exmoor National Park

0:42:07 > 0:42:10with instructor Dan French.

0:42:10 > 0:42:11That's it - these knuckles lined up.

0:42:11 > 0:42:17Cool. As you're paddling along, the whites of the blade will be buried in the water, OK?

0:42:17 > 0:42:19We want to make it as easy as possible.

0:42:19 > 0:42:22Brilliant, that looks good. Let's get on the water.

0:42:22 > 0:42:25With good instruction, a beginner's course

0:42:25 > 0:42:27can be completed in just six hours.

0:42:27 > 0:42:29The kayaks are relatively easy to paddle

0:42:29 > 0:42:33once you get used to the feel and they're pretty stable too.

0:42:33 > 0:42:35Learning how to turn is one of the basics.

0:42:35 > 0:42:38You can turn on one side to turn your boat

0:42:38 > 0:42:42or you can even...reverse stroke on the other side.

0:42:42 > 0:42:45So forwards on one side, reverse stroke on the other side.

0:42:45 > 0:42:47You can see how much that turns the boat.

0:42:48 > 0:42:52A basic kayak will set you back around £300,

0:42:52 > 0:42:56but a good second-hand one can be picked up for considerably less.

0:42:56 > 0:42:58The only extra is a life jacket.

0:42:58 > 0:43:02Time for Jane and Eugene to practise an essential drill that prepares any kayaker

0:43:02 > 0:43:04for a potential capsize.

0:43:04 > 0:43:06We're going to do a deep-water rescue

0:43:06 > 0:43:09when you exit your boat into the water

0:43:09 > 0:43:11and I'll get you back in your boat as quickly as possible.

0:43:11 > 0:43:16But when the going gets tough, one of our house-hunters is keeping her distance!

0:43:16 > 0:43:19At least Eugene's willing to give it a go.

0:43:22 > 0:43:26Nice on. Right, come and grab on to the front of my boat.

0:43:31 > 0:43:33Ooh, he's a natural!

0:43:33 > 0:43:36- Excellent, I'm back in. - Good one. Brilliant.

0:43:36 > 0:43:37Good on you.

0:43:37 > 0:43:39Jane, your go!

0:43:39 > 0:43:41No! JANE LAUGHS

0:43:41 > 0:43:45There's absolutely no doubt Jane wants to keep her hair nice and dry,

0:43:45 > 0:43:48and heads back to shore to concentrate on the house search.

0:43:53 > 0:43:58There have been plenty of surprises for Eugene and Jane so far,

0:43:58 > 0:44:03and now for the mystery house we have something very special.

0:44:03 > 0:44:07I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll react to this final offering.

0:44:07 > 0:44:10Our mystery house brings us to the quiet village of Chedzoy,

0:44:10 > 0:44:13four miles from Eugene's hometown of Bridgwater.

0:44:13 > 0:44:17For local amenities, they can head to Westonzoyland, three miles away.

0:44:17 > 0:44:22This was the location of the Battle of Sedgemoor in 1685 between the royal army

0:44:22 > 0:44:25of James II and the rebel army of James Scott, Duke of Monmouth.

0:44:25 > 0:44:29The Royalists won and the village church of St Mary's

0:44:29 > 0:44:31became a prison for 500 troops after the battle.

0:44:31 > 0:44:35Our mystery house in Chedzoy is Grade II listed and is semi-detached,

0:44:35 > 0:44:38which they may not have considered.

0:44:38 > 0:44:41I think we'd be crazy to overlook this one.

0:44:42 > 0:44:44Big smiles.

0:44:44 > 0:44:48Mystery house time and you can already see something pretty impressive.

0:44:48 > 0:44:50I would say so, yes.

0:44:50 > 0:44:53We've brought you to the heart of the village

0:44:53 > 0:44:56- to see the Old Rectory.- Right.

0:44:56 > 0:44:59- What do you think?- It's amazing.

0:44:59 > 0:45:02- A lovely old place.- It's large, too.

0:45:02 > 0:45:05- It's very large, isn't it? - It's impressive.

0:45:05 > 0:45:08- It's a really impressive building, Victorian Gothic.- Yes.

0:45:08 > 0:45:12I've got to say, it's a mystery house for a couple of reasons.

0:45:12 > 0:45:16First of all, it's impressive to look at and will be once you get inside.

0:45:16 > 0:45:20We are in the heart of the village and that means you compromise on...

0:45:20 > 0:45:25- Land. OK.- You've got this patch here and the garden over there that'll we'll come back to.

0:45:25 > 0:45:30It would mean for the horses you'd have to buy some land a little bit away.

0:45:30 > 0:45:33You've got farms close by or perhaps rent some land.

0:45:33 > 0:45:36- Let's have a look inside.- OK.

0:45:36 > 0:45:41This house might not come with much land but just wait until they see inside.

0:45:43 > 0:45:45It certainly has got the wow factor.

0:45:45 > 0:45:48Yes, it does. Very much so.

0:45:48 > 0:45:50That's what you call a ceiling.

0:45:51 > 0:45:54- Very stately.- Grand. Impressed?

0:45:54 > 0:45:56- I like it.- You like it?- I do.

0:45:56 > 0:45:59Me, too. I like it, too.

0:45:59 > 0:46:02Too stately, too grand for you or just fitting?

0:46:02 > 0:46:04No, it's great.

0:46:04 > 0:46:08"Oh, no, I can see myself here!" Let's have a look in the kitchen.

0:46:08 > 0:46:11OK.

0:46:11 > 0:46:15Just through here, we've got the kitchen.

0:46:15 > 0:46:21- Yes. OK.- Compact. - The kitchen area is a little small but this area here is lovely.- Yes.

0:46:21 > 0:46:25It is quite compact over here and I guess if this was your kitchen,

0:46:25 > 0:46:28you might want to perhaps move the kitchen over to this side

0:46:28 > 0:46:31and extend it out a bit more. What do you think, Eugene?

0:46:31 > 0:46:36Yes, I'm not too bothered about the kitchen.

0:46:36 > 0:46:38It's nice, it's compact.

0:46:38 > 0:46:42- He's more bothered with what comes out of the kitchen.- Yes.

0:46:42 > 0:46:44As long as the cook is OK, that's fine by me.

0:46:44 > 0:46:47Then you're OK.

0:46:47 > 0:46:48Making sure you're happy.

0:46:48 > 0:46:50All right, let's keep exploring.

0:46:50 > 0:46:52This way.

0:46:55 > 0:46:57And the grand tour continues.

0:46:57 > 0:46:59- Gosh.- I like this.- I like this, too.

0:46:59 > 0:47:03- Yes.- Beautiful. - I'm impressed with what I see.

0:47:03 > 0:47:06It is very stately, isn't it? I love the ceiling rose.

0:47:06 > 0:47:11You've got these shuttered doors here, which lead you out to another area.

0:47:11 > 0:47:12OK.

0:47:15 > 0:47:18- A summer room. - This is nice. This is lovely.

0:47:18 > 0:47:20It's very cosy, isn't it?

0:47:20 > 0:47:25Isn't it? I like this. This is where I would be sitting reading my books.

0:47:25 > 0:47:27- You've claimed this area?- Yes.

0:47:27 > 0:47:30I like it. I do.

0:47:30 > 0:47:32I like that, he likes it!

0:47:32 > 0:47:34- Come on, there's more to see.- OK.

0:47:39 > 0:47:42- The same thing in here. - Wow, look at this.

0:47:42 > 0:47:44I don't think I've ever seen a room like it.

0:47:44 > 0:47:47No, I wasn't expecting this.

0:47:47 > 0:47:49- It's more than a bonus.- Yes, it is.

0:47:49 > 0:47:52- A working fireplace.- Yes. It's fantastic.

0:47:52 > 0:47:55It's a big room, but very cosy.

0:47:55 > 0:48:01As I say, you could just imagine being here at Christmas, the long table there, having dinner.

0:48:01 > 0:48:04You'd never get rid of your family and friends.

0:48:04 > 0:48:07They'd be here every Christmas, keeping you busy.

0:48:07 > 0:48:12This house is undoubtedly grand in style and it continues with the elegant staircase.

0:48:12 > 0:48:17Halfway up is the beautiful family bathroom with a huge double-ended bath.

0:48:17 > 0:48:21At the top of the stairs are five generously sized bedrooms.

0:48:21 > 0:48:25They all have large windows, allowing bags of natural light to flood in.

0:48:25 > 0:48:29All five rooms can accommodate double beds, although one of the rooms

0:48:29 > 0:48:33is currently laid out as a single and another as a study.

0:48:35 > 0:48:38My guess is Eugene might like to keep it that way.

0:48:38 > 0:48:41Let's look at the master.

0:48:41 > 0:48:43It's lovely. It's large, isn't it?

0:48:43 > 0:48:44Look at the size of this.

0:48:44 > 0:48:48- It's humungous!- You could divide this into four rooms.

0:48:48 > 0:48:50You are right.

0:48:50 > 0:48:54Most people have bedside tables, they have bedside chest of drawers.

0:48:54 > 0:48:57That shows how big it is. And these lovely windows.

0:48:57 > 0:48:59Some beautiful views, yes.

0:48:59 > 0:49:03- I like it.- You can even hear the birds tweeting.- Yes.

0:49:03 > 0:49:05I can picture you here already.

0:49:05 > 0:49:07We heard the birds tweeting.

0:49:07 > 0:49:12I think they're calling us to head out to the garden and talk about the money.

0:49:12 > 0:49:15- OK.- Come on.

0:49:15 > 0:49:18You could be forgiven for thinking that you're in a rather grand hotel,

0:49:18 > 0:49:21but this could be Jane and Eugene's home

0:49:21 > 0:49:25if only Jane is prepared to compromise on the amount of land that comes with this house.

0:49:29 > 0:49:31Out into a fairly formal garden,

0:49:31 > 0:49:33but, I think, easy to maintain.

0:49:33 > 0:49:35Yes, I agree.

0:49:35 > 0:49:38Not too much hassle. You've got this pond here.

0:49:38 > 0:49:42They do have children here, which is why it's covered over.

0:49:42 > 0:49:44Another water feature at the back.

0:49:44 > 0:49:47Tucked behind there, they keep some chickens.

0:49:47 > 0:49:51- Of course, another feature, the hot tub.- Yes.

0:49:51 > 0:49:54You've got a greenhouse and a vegetable patch there.

0:49:54 > 0:49:57Very attractive, isn't it? It's lovely.

0:49:57 > 0:50:00Everything you need in this garden. Easy to look after.

0:50:00 > 0:50:04- So you're happy.- I am. - Tough question, but I have to ask.

0:50:04 > 0:50:06How much do you think it's worth?

0:50:06 > 0:50:13- It is a very tough question, but I would say 625,000.- OK.

0:50:13 > 0:50:21Well, it is a magnificent house and inside it's faultless,

0:50:21 > 0:50:27but because it's attached, I'm going to go for 595,000.

0:50:27 > 0:50:29- 595?- Mmm.

0:50:29 > 0:50:32- You both think you can afford it? - Mm-hm.- Oh, yes.

0:50:32 > 0:50:36- We do need some money left over so you can find some land for the horses.- Yes.

0:50:36 > 0:50:38How about this figure?

0:50:38 > 0:50:41£550,000.

0:50:41 > 0:50:44- Wow!- Wow!- I wasn't expecting that.

0:50:44 > 0:50:48- No, I wasn't.- I shocked you, Eugene, I've shocked you!

0:50:49 > 0:50:51- What do you think of that?- Yes.

0:50:51 > 0:50:54- Well, amazed.- Staggered.

0:50:54 > 0:50:57- Yes.- Now you've made our life extremely difficult.- Yes, you have.

0:50:57 > 0:50:59- Given you choices?- Yes.

0:50:59 > 0:51:03With that you've got a lot left over in the budget and it's just fabulous.

0:51:03 > 0:51:05It is.

0:51:05 > 0:51:08I can see you starting to think there.

0:51:08 > 0:51:13- Go on, why don't you go in and have another look around and have a think on that?- OK.

0:51:13 > 0:51:16I will see you a bit later on for decision time.

0:51:16 > 0:51:18All right, thank you.

0:51:18 > 0:51:22That's got them, hasn't it? I don't think they ever expected

0:51:22 > 0:51:25to see a mystery property that they liked, they could afford

0:51:25 > 0:51:27and that would completely blow their mind.

0:51:27 > 0:51:34I think this splendid house at £550,000 has taken them by surprise.

0:51:34 > 0:51:36It has an impressive hall and staircase,

0:51:36 > 0:51:43rooms of grand proportions, five bedrooms, and a conservatory Jane is longing to make her own.

0:51:43 > 0:51:47This is lovely, I really like this room. Don't you?

0:51:47 > 0:51:50It's got a lovely, warm feeling about it.

0:51:50 > 0:51:54I think this is a really lovely house.

0:51:54 > 0:51:56It's almost perfect.

0:51:56 > 0:52:00I think the only thing it's lacking is an en-suite.

0:52:00 > 0:52:02The land isn't a factor for me.

0:52:02 > 0:52:06I mean, we can rent some land for Jane to get a pony, or buy some.

0:52:06 > 0:52:09I know you like this room, don't you?

0:52:09 > 0:52:11- I do.- I do, too.

0:52:11 > 0:52:13I like the colours and the fireplace.

0:52:13 > 0:52:18- The fireplace is gorgeous.- I love that stone, I love the colour of it.

0:52:18 > 0:52:23This house has given me a lot to think about because I really love this house.

0:52:23 > 0:52:27It's got everything except the paddock.

0:52:27 > 0:52:29It's very beautiful inside.

0:52:29 > 0:52:32It's wonderful. I really like it.

0:52:36 > 0:52:41Well, final house, and what a great house it is, but lots for you to think about.

0:52:41 > 0:52:43Let's find somewhere for you to sit down.

0:52:47 > 0:52:50Jane and Eugene have viewed all our properties,

0:52:50 > 0:52:53but have any of them inspired them enough to make the move?

0:52:59 > 0:53:04Well, they wanted the wow factor and I think we've surpassed Eugene and Jane's expectations,

0:53:04 > 0:53:08so much so that I really don't know which property they're going to go for.

0:53:08 > 0:53:10So let's find out.

0:53:15 > 0:53:20What a journey we've had, escaping back to the countryside for you and inducting you into Somerset life.

0:53:20 > 0:53:23We've seen a lot of properties, haven't we?

0:53:23 > 0:53:27- And had fun. Let's go through them, one at a time.- OK.

0:53:27 > 0:53:29We saw that house by the Blackdown Hills.

0:53:29 > 0:53:33Great romping land for the horses, but what did you think of the property?

0:53:33 > 0:53:35We both liked the reception room.

0:53:35 > 0:53:41- It was very nice.- Beautiful. - And also the room... - The TV/breakfast room.- Yes.

0:53:41 > 0:53:42That was nice.

0:53:42 > 0:53:46JANE LAUGHS When we moved from there,

0:53:46 > 0:53:48- things weren't... what we were expecting.- No.

0:53:48 > 0:53:51And you weren't particularly happy with the kitchen, were you?

0:53:51 > 0:53:53That's right, yeah.

0:53:53 > 0:53:56- It was a bit small compared to what we've got now.- On the plus side,

0:53:56 > 0:53:58I mean, it did have the land, as well,

0:53:58 > 0:54:03- that you were looking for.- The horse would be in heaven - horse heaven -

0:54:03 > 0:54:05but we wouldn't have been, so...

0:54:05 > 0:54:08- The other thing was it was very isolated.- Yeah, it was.

0:54:08 > 0:54:09I don't think it's for us really.

0:54:09 > 0:54:13Then we saw something brand-spanking-new, the new barn conversion.

0:54:13 > 0:54:15Tell me your thoughts on that.

0:54:15 > 0:54:17- It was fabulous.- Yes, it was.

0:54:17 > 0:54:19It was absolutely what we were looking for.

0:54:19 > 0:54:23Very spacious. The bathrooms were beautiful.

0:54:23 > 0:54:25The kitchen was beautiful.

0:54:25 > 0:54:30Everything about that place, except there was a shortage of land with it.

0:54:30 > 0:54:34But, obviously, there was the option to purchase more.

0:54:34 > 0:54:38So we were really pleased with that one. Really liked it.

0:54:38 > 0:54:44I know that your current property is very big and you didn't want to downsize at all.

0:54:44 > 0:54:48so we took you to probably one of the biggest properties we've had on the show for a while.

0:54:48 > 0:54:52Seven bedrooms, almost seven acres, what did you think?

0:54:52 > 0:54:55It was massive! Loads of land.

0:54:55 > 0:54:57The rooms were just so beautiful.

0:54:57 > 0:55:00The bedrooms were nice.

0:55:00 > 0:55:05It was very homely, very lived in. I think the downside was the size.

0:55:05 > 0:55:10- You know, having to look after a place, we would rattle around in it, wouldn't we?- Mmm.

0:55:10 > 0:55:13And finally, the mystery house.

0:55:13 > 0:55:18I think it's safe to say that if we hadn't shown you that property you would never have gone there.

0:55:18 > 0:55:19That's right, yes.

0:55:19 > 0:55:21It just had that wow factor.

0:55:21 > 0:55:24It didn't let you down when you went in. It just got better.

0:55:24 > 0:55:29There weren't any rooms that would let you down in that house. It was spot on.

0:55:29 > 0:55:32I appreciate it hadn't the land for a horse,

0:55:32 > 0:55:36but then it's in an area where there's lots of land for horses.

0:55:36 > 0:55:38After the barn conversion, I was pretty convinced

0:55:38 > 0:55:42that's what you would have gone for, until we got to the mystery house.

0:55:42 > 0:55:46Then it all changed. Now I'm not sure, so put me out of my misery!

0:55:46 > 0:55:49- Are you going to go for any of our properties?- Definitely.

0:55:49 > 0:55:53Definitely the barn conversion.

0:55:53 > 0:55:56- The mystery house is a strong contender, too.- Yes, it is.

0:55:56 > 0:55:59Both of them certainly did it for us, I think. Is that right?

0:55:59 > 0:56:02Which isn't bad - 50% hit rate!

0:56:02 > 0:56:04It's a very good hit rate!

0:56:04 > 0:56:07What will be the deciding factor that helps you choose?

0:56:07 > 0:56:10It's going to be down to the price.

0:56:10 > 0:56:13- So negotiate a good price.- Yes.

0:56:13 > 0:56:15- We could have found you a home! - Yes.

0:56:15 > 0:56:17I'm sure you will.

0:56:17 > 0:56:19- Let us know how you get on. - We will.

0:56:19 > 0:56:22It's been a real pleasure showing you round.

0:56:22 > 0:56:24- We've enjoyed it immensely.- We have.

0:56:24 > 0:56:26- It's been fun.- It's been fantastic.

0:56:31 > 0:56:34I love it when a plan comes together.

0:56:34 > 0:56:40Not one, but two properties that Eugene and Jane liked and they both had the wow factor.

0:56:40 > 0:56:43I'll see you next time on Escape To The Country.

0:56:43 > 0:56:47If you would like to escape to the country and would like our help,

0:56:47 > 0:56:49please contact us through our website.
