0:00:02 > 0:00:05I'm constantly taken aback by the huge variety of property styles in Britain -
0:00:05 > 0:00:09from characterful timber-framed cottages to grand townhouses.
0:00:09 > 0:00:12But sometimes, the insides don't live up to
0:00:12 > 0:00:15the expectations on the outside.
0:00:15 > 0:00:18So we've gathered together the most talented interior designers
0:00:18 > 0:00:22who think they could be the next big thing to show us how it's done.
0:00:22 > 0:00:23But it's not as easy as it looks.
0:00:23 > 0:00:25Ah!
0:00:25 > 0:00:27I feel really sick.
0:00:27 > 0:00:30Across three knockout episodes, a group of designers
0:00:30 > 0:00:33will compete for one place in the finals week.
0:00:33 > 0:00:35Ta-da!
0:00:35 > 0:00:37It looks amazing, it looks exactly how I wanted it.
0:00:37 > 0:00:39Love it, love it, love it.
0:00:39 > 0:00:43Judging them, two industry experts - Daniel Hopwood...
0:00:43 > 0:00:46What I'm looking for is talent that can be nurtured.
0:00:46 > 0:00:48..and Sophie Robinson.
0:00:48 > 0:00:51I want the designers to impress me with their creativity.
0:00:51 > 0:00:54They'll be scrutinising presentation skills...
0:00:54 > 0:00:57That's not the way to present to somebody.
0:00:57 > 0:00:59..artistic flair...
0:00:59 > 0:01:01- Have you ever seen that done before? - No, it's weird.
0:01:01 > 0:01:04..and how well they deliver their brief.
0:01:04 > 0:01:07- A pretty amazing transformation. - Absolutely beautiful.
0:01:07 > 0:01:11In the finals, the best will face giants of the design world -
0:01:11 > 0:01:12Oliver Heath...
0:01:12 > 0:01:13Oh, my word!
0:01:13 > 0:01:15..Orla Kiely...
0:01:15 > 0:01:16It does look quite rough.
0:01:16 > 0:01:18..and Kelly Hoppen.
0:01:18 > 0:01:19I want perfection.
0:01:19 > 0:01:22But only one can be crowned winner
0:01:22 > 0:01:25of The Great Interior Design Challenge.
0:01:34 > 0:01:35In this first round heat,
0:01:35 > 0:01:38four rooms seriously in need of some creativity.
0:01:39 > 0:01:43This time, our amateur designers will work in one bedroom each
0:01:43 > 0:01:46in these modernist apartments in south London.
0:01:46 > 0:01:49Each designer has their own distinctive style.
0:01:49 > 0:01:51- Colours.- Theatrical.
0:01:51 > 0:01:52Scandinavian.
0:01:52 > 0:01:53Oriental sensation.
0:01:53 > 0:01:57But working to a client's brief won't be straightforward.
0:01:57 > 0:01:59Oh, no, I'm panicking!
0:01:59 > 0:02:01Shall we just scrap the whole thing?
0:02:01 > 0:02:03- I'm a bit stressed.- Crikey!
0:02:03 > 0:02:06They'll need to impress to keep their place in the competition.
0:02:06 > 0:02:07Ahh!
0:02:07 > 0:02:09I'm not very happy with it.
0:02:09 > 0:02:11I think that's really rather dreadful.
0:02:11 > 0:02:14- Because, of the four amateur designers...- Weey!
0:02:14 > 0:02:17..only three will make it through to the next round.
0:02:17 > 0:02:20The designer that we are saying goodbye to is...
0:02:25 > 0:02:26The setting for this design battle
0:02:26 > 0:02:29is one of my favourite buildings in London.
0:02:29 > 0:02:32Because there's far more to it than meets the eye.
0:02:33 > 0:02:36The 1930s were a decade of innovation and optimism in Britain,
0:02:36 > 0:02:39with cultural influences, including architecture,
0:02:39 > 0:02:42coming in from continental Europe and America.
0:02:42 > 0:02:44But, in Peckham, South London,
0:02:44 > 0:02:46a very British experiment was taking place.
0:02:48 > 0:02:51Two pioneering doctors established a health centre
0:02:51 > 0:02:52in this modernist building,
0:02:52 > 0:02:55promoting wellbeing and leisure like never before.
0:02:55 > 0:02:58It's now been converted into apartments,
0:02:58 > 0:03:01and our designers must transform a bedroom each.
0:03:08 > 0:03:12OK, so, everything is going to be white.
0:03:12 > 0:03:15The designers have been working on a brief from their homeowner
0:03:15 > 0:03:17for the past week.
0:03:17 > 0:03:21The brief is quite different to my normal style.
0:03:21 > 0:03:24I've really got to go out of my comfort zone.
0:03:24 > 0:03:28- Basically, all the layout is going to stay the same.- OK.
0:03:28 > 0:03:31Obviously, I need to fit into the client's criteria,
0:03:31 > 0:03:35but hopefully I can get away with some twists.
0:03:35 > 0:03:37They've each got a small team to help them,
0:03:37 > 0:03:40including a builder and a decorator.
0:03:40 > 0:03:42So, the mirror sits on the ply...
0:03:42 > 0:03:44- Yeah. - ..with the concrete surround...
0:03:44 > 0:03:46You make it, I'll fix it.
0:03:46 > 0:03:51Quietly confident, but who knows, they might hate it!
0:03:52 > 0:03:55And they also have a budget of £1,000 and three days.
0:03:57 > 0:03:58And for my next trick...
0:03:58 > 0:04:01I'm feeling a little bit apprehensive and nervous,
0:04:01 > 0:04:04but I just hope the homeowner likes what I have planned.
0:04:06 > 0:04:10First up is a 62-year-old theatre director and actress Sharon
0:04:10 > 0:04:14whose home in Sheffield reflects her taste for the dramatic.
0:04:14 > 0:04:19When I go round other people's houses, they are usually quite safe.
0:04:19 > 0:04:22And I just think you've just got to go for it, really.
0:04:22 > 0:04:26The room Sharon is working in started off as a plain white box,
0:04:26 > 0:04:29which judges Sophie and Daniel checked out before work began.
0:04:31 > 0:04:34Oh, what a wonderful light-filled room!
0:04:34 > 0:04:37At the moment, bright white walls, very masculine,
0:04:37 > 0:04:40hard edged furniture. This couldn't be further
0:04:40 > 0:04:43from what the homeowners asked for in the brief.
0:04:43 > 0:04:45Sharon has been asked to give the room
0:04:45 > 0:04:48a colourful 1920s Bloomsbury-inspired scheme.
0:04:48 > 0:04:51The thing with this Bloomsbury look is it's quite soft.
0:04:51 > 0:04:55I imagine lots of fabrics, patterned wallpapers.
0:04:55 > 0:04:58The thing is, in a concrete building,
0:04:58 > 0:05:00is the designer going to make that look really work?
0:05:00 > 0:05:05Sharon's hoping the building can take vibrant floral wallpaper
0:05:05 > 0:05:07and a bright colour scheme,
0:05:07 > 0:05:11which she pitched to her client Kate before work began.
0:05:11 > 0:05:14The scheme is based on Bloomsbury.
0:05:14 > 0:05:18The modern furniture, I'm going to paint in a particular style,
0:05:18 > 0:05:19but I'll show you.
0:05:19 > 0:05:23The judges are scrutinising every part of the pitch
0:05:23 > 0:05:26and will be ranking all the designers on how well they do.
0:05:26 > 0:05:30And after 10 minutes, Sharon hasn't even got out her mood boards.
0:05:30 > 0:05:33What sort of colours have you got in mind?
0:05:33 > 0:05:35Now I can reveal my mood board.
0:05:36 > 0:05:39Oh, look, that's a beautiful blue.
0:05:39 > 0:05:42- The main colour for the walls is the green.- Yeah.
0:05:42 > 0:05:46- And the chest of drawers? - Probably more of the dusky coral.
0:05:46 > 0:05:48I love it, Sharon, I really do.
0:05:48 > 0:05:52- I wasn't expecting to be so taken with it straight away.- Really?
0:05:52 > 0:05:54- But I really am. - Oh, good.- I really am.
0:05:54 > 0:05:57- That's really exciting. - What I was envisaging...
0:05:57 > 0:06:00I think a Bloomsbury-inspired theme is a lovely brief,
0:06:00 > 0:06:03but that colour scheme, I don't know,
0:06:03 > 0:06:04it seems a bit of an odd choice.
0:06:04 > 0:06:07Yeah, and I'm not sure it's going to work.
0:06:07 > 0:06:11The judges may not be sold on the colour scheme,
0:06:11 > 0:06:15but Sharon's got other worries - moving the wardrobe.
0:06:15 > 0:06:18- The back's hanging off.- Yeah, the back is coming off, isn't it?- Yeah.
0:06:18 > 0:06:21Yeah, that's going to be quite tricky to move.
0:06:21 > 0:06:24At the moment, if we move it, it will be in bits.
0:06:24 > 0:06:27If I can't move the wardrobe, I'm going home.
0:06:32 > 0:06:34I definitely like making a list.
0:06:34 > 0:06:37Our second designer is 28-year-old Holly,
0:06:37 > 0:06:41who runs a doggie day-care centre from her colourful London home.
0:06:41 > 0:06:44A lot of my inspiration comes from films that I love.
0:06:44 > 0:06:47Particularly Jurassic Park, I love the tropical theme,
0:06:47 > 0:06:50it's nice and bright and colourful.
0:06:50 > 0:06:54Holly's updating a once-cluttered 11-year-old's bedroom.
0:06:54 > 0:06:58- It's quite a tight space.- Yes, you could say it's cosy, couldn't you?
0:06:58 > 0:07:00There's a lot of demand on kids' bedrooms,
0:07:00 > 0:07:04not just for sleeping, but for all their bits and pieces.
0:07:04 > 0:07:08Holly's young client wants a more grown-up room with a retro theme.
0:07:09 > 0:07:13We've got sorbet pastel shades, mid-century modern,
0:07:13 > 0:07:15- modern geometrics. - So everything, really.
0:07:15 > 0:07:18Yes, she's hitting all the major trends, I love it.
0:07:18 > 0:07:23Holly's using a multicoloured circle motif throughout the room
0:07:23 > 0:07:25with handcrafted accessories...
0:07:25 > 0:07:26See what you think.
0:07:26 > 0:07:29..which she needed client Bea and mum Emma
0:07:29 > 0:07:32to sign off before work started.
0:07:32 > 0:07:34The main backdrop of the room is going to be white
0:07:34 > 0:07:36and then I'm going to paint
0:07:36 > 0:07:39this kind of circular mural on that wall there.
0:07:39 > 0:07:42- Does that sound good, Bea?- Yeah.- OK.
0:07:42 > 0:07:44We've got a couple of accessories I'm going to make for you.
0:07:44 > 0:07:48I'm going to do a marquee light with your name and I'm going to use
0:07:48 > 0:07:52five of these lampshades, all in different colours.
0:07:52 > 0:07:54I've got you a new bed.
0:07:54 > 0:07:58- The bed is a single bed, is it? - It is a single bed, yeah.- OK.
0:07:58 > 0:08:00- Happy, Bea?- Definitely.
0:08:00 > 0:08:02- That's great, Holly.- Brill. - Yeah, brilliant.
0:08:02 > 0:08:05What's very clever, by painting the walls with those round circles,
0:08:05 > 0:08:08she can introduce all those different colours.
0:08:08 > 0:08:10You don't think lots of bubbles on the wall looks silly?
0:08:10 > 0:08:14No, they look fun, I like that, it won't look silly.
0:08:15 > 0:08:19Holly's first major job is to remove the built-in bed,
0:08:19 > 0:08:21revealing a problem underneath.
0:08:21 > 0:08:23I pulled the bed up.
0:08:23 > 0:08:24This is what we've got.
0:08:24 > 0:08:28Yeah, we thought there was going to be two types of carpet going on.
0:08:28 > 0:08:32I think what I'm going to do is have a very light laminate on it.
0:08:32 > 0:08:34So it will change flooring,
0:08:34 > 0:08:39but because it's part of the dressing area, it should look OK.
0:08:39 > 0:08:43This has kind of thrown the budget into turmoil.
0:08:45 > 0:08:47I'm not sure I should touch this.
0:08:47 > 0:08:52Our third designer is 38-year-old former textile sales assistant
0:08:52 > 0:08:55Frankie, who's got somewhat conflicting tastes.
0:08:55 > 0:09:00My style is crossing between minimal and very ornate.
0:09:00 > 0:09:04You don't just clash them, you have to find the harmony.
0:09:04 > 0:09:06It's like a rhythm.
0:09:06 > 0:09:09Frankie is working in a room that was tatty,
0:09:09 > 0:09:12doubling up as a guest bedroom-cum-study.
0:09:12 > 0:09:15Oh, you can tell this is a spare bedroom.
0:09:15 > 0:09:18Oh, yes, it's got the second bedroom syndrome, hasn't it?
0:09:18 > 0:09:19It's doing everything.
0:09:19 > 0:09:22And what Frankie's clients want it to do
0:09:22 > 0:09:24is be practical with a minimal Japanese feel.
0:09:24 > 0:09:28It's going to be interesting to see how the designer can pull this
0:09:28 > 0:09:31together as a scheme and make it look cohesive and interesting.
0:09:33 > 0:09:35Frankie has embraced the Japanese brief,
0:09:35 > 0:09:38with muted colours and decorative fabrics,
0:09:38 > 0:09:42which he had to get the OK for from his client Andy.
0:09:42 > 0:09:45Here's something I'd like to show you.
0:09:45 > 0:09:50- OK.- This is vintage Japanese fabric.
0:09:50 > 0:09:52All the way from Kyoto.
0:09:52 > 0:09:54You know, it takes you back to when you see
0:09:54 > 0:09:57all those magnificent geisha walking on the street.
0:09:57 > 0:09:59It looks really interesting.
0:09:59 > 0:10:03We're going to cover all your furniture
0:10:03 > 0:10:05- in this natural Irish linen.- OK.
0:10:05 > 0:10:09If you can cover a chair, so you can cover furniture as well.
0:10:09 > 0:10:13And then right inside, a panel, we're going to do some padding
0:10:13 > 0:10:17and then you can put your personal note with a pin.
0:10:17 > 0:10:21- OK.- So, it's kind of multifunctional as well.- Yeah.
0:10:21 > 0:10:23I think that was such a lovely presentation,
0:10:23 > 0:10:26- all those beautiful fabrics. - Oh, hang on a minute.
0:10:26 > 0:10:28You're being seduced by the kimonos.
0:10:28 > 0:10:31Remember, those homeowners were after, I think,
0:10:31 > 0:10:32the Japanese version of Bauhaus.
0:10:32 > 0:10:36Yes, they did ask for something very minimal and utilitarian,
0:10:36 > 0:10:38and they got something highly decorative.
0:10:41 > 0:10:45Part of Frankie's decorative design involves breaking up
0:10:45 > 0:10:49the existing chest of drawers to create a new storage feature.
0:10:49 > 0:10:54- These cabinets, I'd like that to be chopped.- OK.
0:10:54 > 0:10:59- So the top section is going to be here.- Right.
0:10:59 > 0:11:04That would be covered in the kimono fabric and the Irish linen.
0:11:04 > 0:11:07This is probably more work for you and the decorator than it is for me.
0:11:11 > 0:11:14The final designer is 42-year-old Jane,
0:11:14 > 0:11:18who, at home in Yorkshire, likes a modern aesthetic.
0:11:18 > 0:11:21My ideal house would be in LA, with huge windows,
0:11:21 > 0:11:23but that's not going to happen.
0:11:23 > 0:11:26The room Jane is working in was an understated
0:11:26 > 0:11:29and rather plain master bedroom.
0:11:29 > 0:11:31Oh, what a lovely airy room.
0:11:31 > 0:11:33You've got this enormous wardrobe,
0:11:33 > 0:11:35which I have to say is rather ghastly.
0:11:35 > 0:11:38But they clearly need the storage.
0:11:38 > 0:11:41Jane's homeowner wants to keep the room simple,
0:11:41 > 0:11:44but inject some Scandinavian style.
0:11:45 > 0:11:48Looking in this room, they've got a lovely bed.
0:11:48 > 0:11:49There are a few eclectic pieces
0:11:49 > 0:11:51and you don't want to lose that personality.
0:11:51 > 0:11:54There's your personality. That's a brilliant gallery wall.
0:11:54 > 0:11:57But that gives me an indication that this homeowner does have
0:11:57 > 0:11:59quite a strong sense of style.
0:12:01 > 0:12:05Jane's come up with a pared-down Scandi look in greys and whites,
0:12:05 > 0:12:09broken up with natural and industrial accessories...
0:12:09 > 0:12:12This...is my thoughts.
0:12:12 > 0:12:16..which she ran past her homeowner Kate earlier.
0:12:16 > 0:12:19That is the wardrobe that I've got for you.
0:12:19 > 0:12:22- So hopefully you're happy with that. - OK.
0:12:22 > 0:12:25I'm just thinking, because obviously it looks smaller than
0:12:25 > 0:12:29- the wardrobe we've got now, which is full of clothes.- OK.
0:12:29 > 0:12:31Food for thought.
0:12:31 > 0:12:34Now, the bedside table.
0:12:34 > 0:12:37- I've sourced a tree trunk. - Oh, great.
0:12:37 > 0:12:39And I'm going to put casters on that.
0:12:39 > 0:12:40I really like that.
0:12:40 > 0:12:44This is the exact flooring, which took a lot of the budget.
0:12:44 > 0:12:47Is there any way of painting these white,
0:12:47 > 0:12:49or do they have to stay this colour?
0:12:49 > 0:12:52- The trouble with that is we haven't got any white paint.- OK.
0:12:52 > 0:12:54That's not in budget.
0:12:55 > 0:12:58- Not really, I'm afraid. - That's fine, I just thought I'd ask.
0:12:59 > 0:13:02I felt, with Jane, that she's not been very amenable.
0:13:02 > 0:13:06That design isn't working hard to answer the homeowner's problems.
0:13:06 > 0:13:10She is offering us rubber-stamped Scandinavian design,
0:13:10 > 0:13:12rather than using that type of design
0:13:12 > 0:13:15to solve the problems of the room.
0:13:18 > 0:13:23And there's one problem that Jane's homeowner definitely wants sorted.
0:13:23 > 0:13:26Jane seems to think that the wardrobe being smaller will be OK
0:13:26 > 0:13:28cos there's shelves next to it.
0:13:28 > 0:13:31But I'm not sure that piles of jumpers and T-shirts
0:13:31 > 0:13:32is going to look that good there.
0:13:32 > 0:13:36If the wardrobe we've got now had new doors, I'd feel a lot better
0:13:36 > 0:13:39about things cos then I know we've got that storage there.
0:13:39 > 0:13:42So, the wardrobe will stay. But there's more to negotiate.
0:13:42 > 0:13:45Can I talk to you about the floor?
0:13:45 > 0:13:47I'm worried that it will look like it is in here
0:13:47 > 0:13:50- and I hate the floor in here.- It won't look like this, I promise you.
0:13:50 > 0:13:54It's a lot nicer. If you go with the white floor - and it's your call...
0:13:54 > 0:13:56- It'll be too white.- ..it's going to look like a white box.
0:13:56 > 0:13:58Yeah, that's a good point.
0:14:03 > 0:14:06- We're OK to do two coats in one day? - Yeah.
0:14:06 > 0:14:08Work is well under way.
0:14:08 > 0:14:11But the judges are now calling all the designers
0:14:11 > 0:14:13for some early surprise feedback.
0:14:13 > 0:14:16- Jane, the judges want to see you. - Do they?
0:14:16 > 0:14:18For what?
0:14:18 > 0:14:21Maybe kind of like a criminal check?
0:14:23 > 0:14:27Sophie and Daniel watched how they presented their schemes to their clients,
0:14:27 > 0:14:30and now they're going to judge them on how well they did.
0:14:32 > 0:14:35At this stage, it's not their design being scrutinised,
0:14:35 > 0:14:37but their ability to articulate ideas,
0:14:37 > 0:14:40their mood boards and their drawings.
0:14:40 > 0:14:43I feel like I'm walking to an execution.
0:14:43 > 0:14:45With just three places in the next round,
0:14:45 > 0:14:48where they're ranked now really matters.
0:14:48 > 0:14:52Designers, we've asked you out here because we are here to judge you
0:14:52 > 0:14:56on your presentation and grade you from first to fourth.
0:14:59 > 0:15:01I'm going to start with you, Holly.
0:15:01 > 0:15:03Your presentation was very comprehensive -
0:15:03 > 0:15:07sketches, plans, products, samples.
0:15:07 > 0:15:09However, there was a lot of emphasis on the products
0:15:09 > 0:15:14rather than helping your client visualise the room in the 360.
0:15:14 > 0:15:15OK.
0:15:15 > 0:15:18Sharon, what rapport you have with your homeowner.
0:15:18 > 0:15:20And you really led on the charm.
0:15:20 > 0:15:23But when you started to describe your project, you should have
0:15:23 > 0:15:27picked up your presentation board and used it as your tool.
0:15:27 > 0:15:30- Yes.- Jane, I thought your board was really strong visually,
0:15:30 > 0:15:33you got loads of images on there that clearly portrayed
0:15:33 > 0:15:37the look you are going for. However, you were quite negative.
0:15:37 > 0:15:39There were lots of excuses made.
0:15:39 > 0:15:43And that wasn't really upping the feeling with your client.
0:15:44 > 0:15:48Oh, Frankie, what a lovely storyteller you are!
0:15:49 > 0:15:51It was a great introduction.
0:15:51 > 0:15:54But we were worried about the big issues that you have
0:15:54 > 0:15:56when dealing with a second bedroom
0:15:56 > 0:15:59that has lots of different jobs to do, and you didn't cover that.
0:16:01 > 0:16:06So, I bet you'd like to know how you've done against one another.
0:16:08 > 0:16:12- In first place, well done, Frankie.- Thank you.
0:16:13 > 0:16:15In second place...
0:16:15 > 0:16:16is Holly.
0:16:18 > 0:16:19In third place...
0:16:19 > 0:16:21is Sharon.
0:16:22 > 0:16:26Which means that in fourth place is Jane.
0:16:28 > 0:16:30A bit miffed, really.
0:16:31 > 0:16:34I'm a bit of a worrier, that's my nature,
0:16:34 > 0:16:37and I just need to try and not to be too negative.
0:16:37 > 0:16:42Well, I came first, which has come as a complete surprise.
0:16:42 > 0:16:43So far, so good.
0:16:46 > 0:16:48A boost for Frankie, then.
0:16:48 > 0:16:50But all our designers would do well
0:16:50 > 0:16:53to draw inspiration from the building around them,
0:16:53 > 0:16:56constructed in a spirit of confidence and optimism.
0:16:57 > 0:17:00It might not look like it, but this building was designed 80 years ago,
0:17:00 > 0:17:03when the Modernist movement was just taking off in Britain.
0:17:03 > 0:17:08This ideology rejoiced in overturning tradition for a brighter future.
0:17:08 > 0:17:12Architects built this fascination with the new into their designs,
0:17:12 > 0:17:16such as here - the sharp horizontal and vertical lines of the concrete structure.
0:17:18 > 0:17:21Dr Scott Williamson and his wife Innes Pearse commissioned
0:17:21 > 0:17:24the construction of the Pioneer Health Centre.
0:17:24 > 0:17:27Local families paid a shilling a week to use facilities
0:17:27 > 0:17:30such as a gym, a swimming pool, even a cafe.
0:17:30 > 0:17:32And while they enjoyed their leisure time,
0:17:32 > 0:17:35they were observed by a team of doctors who passionately believed
0:17:35 > 0:17:39in promoting a healthy lifestyle, not just in curing disease.
0:17:40 > 0:17:44Sharon's feeling fighting fit now she's got the wardrobe out
0:17:44 > 0:17:46and her bold, Bloomsbury colour scheme going up.
0:17:46 > 0:17:50It won't look as green as it's cabbage looking at the moment.
0:17:50 > 0:17:54The undeniably green walls will be contrasted with coral pink
0:17:54 > 0:17:57and electric blue on the furniture.
0:17:57 > 0:17:59I think I'll mix some white in.
0:18:02 > 0:18:05Sharon's not used to toning down her style.
0:18:05 > 0:18:08At home, she makes all the design decisions.
0:18:08 > 0:18:11I decided to go for something very bold on the walls.
0:18:11 > 0:18:14I don't get much of an opinion.
0:18:14 > 0:18:17I'd certainly have it a bit quieter, a bit more reserved.
0:18:17 > 0:18:21I have to introduce you to Scarlet here. She's a lamp.
0:18:21 > 0:18:25I'm a risk taker. I don't do normal things.
0:18:25 > 0:18:27I think we hold ourselves back far too often.
0:18:29 > 0:18:32That is a challenging space. It's long and thin.
0:18:32 > 0:18:35And she's giving it more challenges
0:18:35 > 0:18:38by painting it really strong colours.
0:18:38 > 0:18:40In that room, it's just a bit too much.
0:18:44 > 0:18:46Frankie's walls are far more subtle,
0:18:46 > 0:18:50with an £18 a roll basketweave wallpaper.
0:18:52 > 0:18:55He's also busy making a blind, edged in kimono silk.
0:18:56 > 0:18:58I love those fabrics.
0:18:58 > 0:19:02Do you think they suit the homeowner's taste
0:19:02 > 0:19:04in minimal Japanese design?
0:19:04 > 0:19:08If you only use minimal, you'd get really bored of it one day.
0:19:08 > 0:19:10That's why I came up with the idea
0:19:10 > 0:19:14of a splashing of that magnificent geisha outfit.
0:19:15 > 0:19:18You've set quite high expectations.
0:19:21 > 0:19:25Frankie has high expectations at home in Epsom too.
0:19:25 > 0:19:30When you do things right, when you do it beautifully,
0:19:30 > 0:19:32it makes you so happy.
0:19:32 > 0:19:35Creating things is a passion.
0:19:35 > 0:19:39If I won this competition, we're going to buy loads and loads
0:19:39 > 0:19:42and loads of champagne. Back to the reality!
0:19:44 > 0:19:47Frankie's reality right now isn't a happy place.
0:19:47 > 0:19:49Still hasn't arrived?
0:19:49 > 0:19:51Oh, crikey!
0:19:53 > 0:19:55The Irish linen which he plans to cover
0:19:55 > 0:19:57most of his furniture in hasn't turned up.
0:19:57 > 0:20:00What? It went back to the depot?
0:20:00 > 0:20:03I don't know what to do really, at the moment.
0:20:04 > 0:20:08I'll have to think about an alternative.
0:20:12 > 0:20:13It's like a Swiss cheese.
0:20:13 > 0:20:16Things are going better in Holly's room.
0:20:16 > 0:20:19The walls are half pink and half white.
0:20:19 > 0:20:22And circles are cropping up everywhere.
0:20:23 > 0:20:27I've literally spray mounted a little bit of bubble wrap
0:20:27 > 0:20:29and then I press it here.
0:20:29 > 0:20:33It just goes to prove there's other things you can do with bubble wrap
0:20:33 > 0:20:35other than just popping.
0:20:36 > 0:20:38You're a good boy, aren't you?
0:20:38 > 0:20:42A confident designer, Holly is keen to shine in the competition.
0:20:42 > 0:20:45Before working with dogs, she was a PA.
0:20:45 > 0:20:48I'm quite proficient with time management.
0:20:48 > 0:20:51But I'm also really good at handling last-minute changes.
0:20:51 > 0:20:54I don't have any formal interior design training,
0:20:54 > 0:20:57but I really like making stuff.
0:20:57 > 0:21:01I like to draw and sew, and I really enjoy actually doing it as well.
0:21:02 > 0:21:05I mean, seriously, it's like an episode of Blue Peter in there.
0:21:05 > 0:21:09There's pots of glitter, there's bags of plaster.
0:21:09 > 0:21:12Well, you know, her client is a young girl.
0:21:12 > 0:21:14But I also know she's quite sophisticated,
0:21:14 > 0:21:16so that may not quite work for her.
0:21:20 > 0:21:23There's more heavy-duty work going on in Jane's Scandinavian room,
0:21:23 > 0:21:25with the wardrobe dismantled
0:21:25 > 0:21:27and the controversial floor being laid.
0:21:27 > 0:21:30It looks classy. I like it.
0:21:30 > 0:21:33- Thank God! - SHE LAUGHS
0:21:34 > 0:21:37To give her design an industrial edge,
0:21:37 > 0:21:41Jane's making a concrete mirror frame in a home-made mould.
0:21:41 > 0:21:42Oh, fabadoosh!
0:21:42 > 0:21:45I like getting messy and making things.
0:21:46 > 0:21:49Jane's used to getting hands-on at home too,
0:21:49 > 0:21:53as she's spent the last 13 years doing up her house.
0:21:53 > 0:21:56I'm forever learning new skills.
0:21:56 > 0:21:58You know, you get a week's holiday
0:21:58 > 0:22:02and you end up doing DIY instead of going somewhere.
0:22:02 > 0:22:05I think it's an ongoing project for life.
0:22:07 > 0:22:12The drying time will probably be a minimum of 48 hours.
0:22:12 > 0:22:16Hopefully it will have time to set.
0:22:16 > 0:22:18Fingers crossed.
0:22:18 > 0:22:20No pressure.
0:22:21 > 0:22:24They've come to the right place for pressure.
0:22:24 > 0:22:27As well as their schemes, Sophie and Daniel want to test
0:22:27 > 0:22:30all the designers on how well they think on their feet.
0:22:31 > 0:22:33- A surprise challenge.- Right...
0:22:33 > 0:22:36They want to compare their creativity
0:22:36 > 0:22:39by getting them to upcycle the same item.
0:22:40 > 0:22:42It's a vintage tennis racket.
0:22:43 > 0:22:46Which you've got to do something with that is part of the room
0:22:46 > 0:22:49or is a nice stand-alone piece.
0:22:49 > 0:22:50Be innovative, be creative.
0:22:50 > 0:22:54- Right.- Make it into something new and a new interior design product.
0:22:54 > 0:22:55- I'll leave that with you.- Ughhh!
0:22:55 > 0:22:59Um, I'm going to put my head in the vice.
0:22:59 > 0:23:02Our amateurs believe they have what it takes
0:23:02 > 0:23:04to be professional designers.
0:23:04 > 0:23:06So this will test them to the max.
0:23:06 > 0:23:08It is very Bloomsbury.
0:23:08 > 0:23:11So I should be able to do something creative with it.
0:23:11 > 0:23:14I'll have to do, otherwise I shouldn't be here, should I?
0:23:14 > 0:23:16I've literally no idea.
0:23:16 > 0:23:19The judges will see the items they produce later on.
0:23:19 > 0:23:22And what they think of them will help them decide
0:23:22 > 0:23:24which designer will leave the competition.
0:23:28 > 0:23:30It's the end of day one
0:23:30 > 0:23:33and a chance for the designers to size up their rivals.
0:23:33 > 0:23:36I'm thinking about curtains, I am the mad curtain woman.
0:23:36 > 0:23:37It's a bit scary.
0:23:37 > 0:23:39It's like, oh, no, they're really good,
0:23:39 > 0:23:41I wanted them to be really rubbish.
0:23:41 > 0:23:42I'm taking them back to the hotel.
0:23:42 > 0:23:46- Are you going to sew them back at the hotel?- Yeah.- Oh, bless you.
0:23:46 > 0:23:48- THEY LAUGH - How about you?
0:23:48 > 0:23:52I'm confident. On the end of day one, everything is on schedule.
0:23:52 > 0:23:54I think I've actually got a little bit more done.
0:23:54 > 0:23:56It's been a ridiculous day.
0:23:56 > 0:23:58It's totally ridiculous.
0:23:58 > 0:24:02I've spent the whole day chasing after these fabrics.
0:24:02 > 0:24:04Not making much of a progress.
0:24:04 > 0:24:07- Thank you, thank you. - Tomorrow will be a good day.
0:24:07 > 0:24:10As Frankie's team are clocking off, he's heading back to the hotel
0:24:10 > 0:24:14for more work, putting together a twig lampshade he's designed.
0:24:14 > 0:24:17Tonight, I won't be able to sleep.
0:24:17 > 0:24:18If I'm going to spend all that time
0:24:18 > 0:24:21worrying about it, I might just, you know, do something.
0:24:29 > 0:24:32It's the start of the second day.
0:24:32 > 0:24:35We've seen concrete moulded, painted furniture
0:24:35 > 0:24:36and an abundance of craft.
0:24:36 > 0:24:39Our designers still have a lot more work to do.
0:24:39 > 0:24:42Tomorrow, one designer will leave the competition.
0:24:42 > 0:24:46I've been worrying a lot, but once I start making things
0:24:46 > 0:24:50and ticking them off my list, then I'll feel more positive.
0:24:50 > 0:24:53I've not slept one single wink.
0:24:53 > 0:24:56I'm just hoping the adrenaline that kept me awake last night
0:24:56 > 0:24:58keeps me going today.
0:24:58 > 0:25:01I think I'll be able to get everything done, fingers crossed.
0:25:01 > 0:25:03Ask me again a bit later on.
0:25:03 > 0:25:07I went to bed about four o'clock.
0:25:07 > 0:25:09Absolutely exhausted.
0:25:09 > 0:25:11The only way is going forward.
0:25:15 > 0:25:16Thank you.
0:25:16 > 0:25:19Forward for Frankie includes a very welcome delivery.
0:25:19 > 0:25:22All the time waiting for this and finally it's here.
0:25:26 > 0:25:29Now he can begin covering all that furniture.
0:25:29 > 0:25:31Starting with the wardrobe doors.
0:25:32 > 0:25:35The solution is spray glue.
0:25:35 > 0:25:39Hopefully, when the glue dries, the fabric will just stick on it.
0:25:39 > 0:25:41It's a big job.
0:25:41 > 0:25:46I have to act as fast as I can because I'm running out of my time.
0:25:46 > 0:25:49I'm concerned Frankie won't get it all done.
0:25:49 > 0:25:51That's a really big project he's set himself
0:25:51 > 0:25:53and I don't think he'll have time to do it well.
0:25:55 > 0:25:59Holly is not worried about time, she's crafting up a storm.
0:26:00 > 0:26:02This is so much fun.
0:26:02 > 0:26:06Turning a piece of MDF into a speech bubble chalkboard.
0:26:06 > 0:26:10Chalk paste is quite expensive, so you can make it by mixing
0:26:10 > 0:26:14plaster of Paris with paint and a little bit of water.
0:26:14 > 0:26:16So I'm just going to put this on.
0:26:17 > 0:26:20I'm going to have this picture frame hanging down from the ceiling
0:26:20 > 0:26:23and it's going to be kind of like a selfie booth.
0:26:23 > 0:26:26And then that's where the chalkboard speech bubble is going,
0:26:26 > 0:26:29on the wall behind, so that she can change the captions.
0:26:29 > 0:26:31All those things that Holly's making,
0:26:31 > 0:26:35they're probably just a little bit kiddie for her young client
0:26:35 > 0:26:38because the request was for something rather sophisticated.
0:26:38 > 0:26:42I agree with you, I think maybe she's just throwing too much at it
0:26:42 > 0:26:44and it's all getting a bit too gimmicky.
0:26:46 > 0:26:48Gimmicks won't wash now,
0:26:48 > 0:26:51as the designers all face a visit from their homeowners
0:26:51 > 0:26:54to check up on progress around this midway stage.
0:26:54 > 0:26:58It's an anxious moment, as any unexpected changes at this point
0:26:58 > 0:27:00could seriously impact the designs.
0:27:01 > 0:27:06As far as any changes is concerned, it's just not an option now.
0:27:06 > 0:27:09To make changes now would be really, really silly.
0:27:11 > 0:27:13For Sharon, it's the first time
0:27:13 > 0:27:15her client has seen her bold colour scheme.
0:27:18 > 0:27:21- A little unsure about the blue.- OK. - With the green.
0:27:21 > 0:27:26But when the wallpaper's on, it's got both the colours in.
0:27:26 > 0:27:28It'll make so much difference.
0:27:28 > 0:27:31I am a little bit worried about those colours.
0:27:31 > 0:27:34And a little alarmed by the blue.
0:27:34 > 0:27:38It's what we discussed, that it needed to be bold.
0:27:38 > 0:27:40I'm really hoping that the overall effect
0:27:40 > 0:27:43is all going to pull together and gel.
0:27:43 > 0:27:45The curtains are blue, the headboard is blue,
0:27:45 > 0:27:49but I think, when they're dressed, she's going to really like it.
0:27:50 > 0:27:52No such colour worries for Holly,
0:27:52 > 0:27:55who is taking her visit in her stride.
0:27:55 > 0:27:58You're going to have mirrors, you're going to have a big lamp,
0:27:58 > 0:28:02so that's literally going to be like a walk-in sort of closet area.
0:28:02 > 0:28:04No, no worries or concerns at this point,
0:28:04 > 0:28:07so that's really, really good.
0:28:07 > 0:28:10Slightly less relaxed is Jane.
0:28:11 > 0:28:13- Wow!- Hello.- Hello, Jane.
0:28:13 > 0:28:16After fraught negotiations with her client,
0:28:16 > 0:28:19she needs approval on the new floor and wardrobe.
0:28:19 > 0:28:23- The floor looks good, actually. - I like it, I think it works.
0:28:23 > 0:28:26- And the wardrobe looks great.- Good.
0:28:26 > 0:28:29You've done such a great job.
0:28:29 > 0:28:32- See you later.- Thank you, bye!
0:28:32 > 0:28:34Hopefully I'll sleep tonight now, then.
0:28:34 > 0:28:39My only concern is that the room is very white.
0:28:39 > 0:28:42All-white walls, white wardrobe, it's white.
0:28:43 > 0:28:47Pleasing their homeowners is not the only challenge our designers face.
0:28:47 > 0:28:51They've also got just 24 hours to prove their creativity
0:28:51 > 0:28:54and originality by upcycling a vintage tennis racket.
0:28:55 > 0:28:57How inventive they are with it
0:28:57 > 0:29:00could affect who goes through to the next round.
0:29:00 > 0:29:03Frankie knows he must do something radical
0:29:03 > 0:29:04if he is to impress the judges.
0:29:04 > 0:29:09I am thinking...for that, you sort of turn...
0:29:09 > 0:29:13so they can put their cup of tea or whatever they want.
0:29:13 > 0:29:14Yeah.
0:29:14 > 0:29:16What an ingenious idea!
0:29:16 > 0:29:20And being able to tuck it away means the joke isn't always on display.
0:29:20 > 0:29:22Oh, I think it's a bit of a waste of time.
0:29:22 > 0:29:24There's already a side table there for your cup of tea.
0:29:24 > 0:29:26I don't really see the point.
0:29:26 > 0:29:28I like it, like it.
0:29:28 > 0:29:30Right, I'm starting getting excited now.
0:29:33 > 0:29:36The clock is ticking and we've got the clock.
0:29:36 > 0:29:38Jane is risking money from her budget
0:29:38 > 0:29:42and has bought a clock mechanism from a local shop for £12.
0:29:42 > 0:29:47I'm going to feed this through there and turn it into a clock
0:29:47 > 0:29:49and hang it on the wall.
0:29:51 > 0:29:54This is like...shaky-shaky.
0:29:54 > 0:29:56Turning it into a clock is a smart idea
0:29:56 > 0:29:58and shows a good level of reinvention.
0:29:58 > 0:30:01Yeah, she's changed the use of the tennis racket,
0:30:01 > 0:30:02it could look quite quirky.
0:30:02 > 0:30:05Ahh! Fantastic. Oh-ooh!
0:30:05 > 0:30:06Right, super-duper.
0:30:06 > 0:30:11Sharon seems to have failed to grasp the importance of the challenge.
0:30:11 > 0:30:13She's turning it into a simple photo frame.
0:30:13 > 0:30:18I'm actually looking for a photo of vintage tennis players
0:30:18 > 0:30:23that's appropriate to the era of the building, around the 1930s.
0:30:23 > 0:30:25Her homeowner has come up trumps
0:30:25 > 0:30:28with a black-and-white photo of a gym class on the roof.
0:30:28 > 0:30:31Right, that's that done.
0:30:31 > 0:30:34It's a beautiful object as it is, and Sharon can clearly see that.
0:30:34 > 0:30:37But it's an upcycle challenge and she's done nothing with it.
0:30:41 > 0:30:43Holly has also come up with a plan for a frame,
0:30:43 > 0:30:46though her idea is much more ambitious.
0:30:46 > 0:30:50I have made the racket into sort of an oval-shaped photo frame,
0:30:50 > 0:30:54but then what I decided to do is to get mum and daughter
0:30:54 > 0:30:58to do a paint handprint, like one on top of the other.
0:30:59 > 0:31:00Amazing, love it.
0:31:00 > 0:31:04I've also used bits of the racket and made those into drawer knobs
0:31:04 > 0:31:08for my little vanity table, which I think will look really cool.
0:31:08 > 0:31:10What Holly has done with that tennis racket handle,
0:31:10 > 0:31:13chopping it up and turning it into a little drawer knob,
0:31:13 > 0:31:14I think is genius.
0:31:14 > 0:31:18But what she's done with that racket head, don't get me started.
0:31:18 > 0:31:21It's dreadful, I wish she hadn't bothered.
0:31:22 > 0:31:25That's what the judges think of the individual items.
0:31:25 > 0:31:27But what really matters is how they look
0:31:27 > 0:31:30when integrated into the finished room schemes.
0:31:33 > 0:31:38A spirit of invention was also integral to the Pioneer Health Centre when it was built.
0:31:38 > 0:31:41But in post-war Britain, it didn't last long.
0:31:41 > 0:31:44The experiment came to an end in the 1950s
0:31:44 > 0:31:46and the building was converted first into a leisure centre
0:31:46 > 0:31:49and then into smart new apartments in the 1990s.
0:31:51 > 0:31:55The upper apartments even came complete with a step ladder
0:31:55 > 0:31:56up to a private roof terrace.
0:31:58 > 0:32:00But back in the building's heyday,
0:32:00 > 0:32:03this space up at the top was a key part of the health centre.
0:32:03 > 0:32:07Aerobics and dance, even rollerblading took place
0:32:07 > 0:32:10out here in the fresh air and wide-open space.
0:32:12 > 0:32:15Today, residents are encouraged to use the original swimming pool
0:32:15 > 0:32:17and this newly built tennis court,
0:32:17 > 0:32:21preserving just a little bit of the building's pioneering spirit.
0:32:25 > 0:32:26Instead of sporting endeavours,
0:32:26 > 0:32:30our designers are fighting to win a place in the next round.
0:32:31 > 0:32:33For Jane, her chances depend on
0:32:33 > 0:32:36her being able to bring enough interest to her pared-back scheme.
0:32:36 > 0:32:38Weey!
0:32:38 > 0:32:42So she's braving the wind to make candlesticks out of copper pipe.
0:32:42 > 0:32:46While inside, her room still looks pretty white.
0:32:46 > 0:32:48I know you've got these wardrobes in,
0:32:48 > 0:32:50they look a bit bland to me at the moment.
0:32:50 > 0:32:52What are you going to do to jazz these up?
0:32:52 > 0:32:56I'm going to make some bespoke candles out of the salvaged wood,
0:32:56 > 0:32:59which is beautiful, it's got the bark on the outside of it.
0:33:03 > 0:33:05Wow. Right, brill.
0:33:05 > 0:33:07So...
0:33:07 > 0:33:08Oh!
0:33:10 > 0:33:12Here we go.
0:33:12 > 0:33:16Meanwhile, Sharon is relying on busy floral wallpaper
0:33:16 > 0:33:17to unify her bold colours.
0:33:17 > 0:33:21- I love it, it just makes it look really special.- Yeah.
0:33:21 > 0:33:25And it now ties everything in, so we don't look like I've lost the plot.
0:33:25 > 0:33:28There's been concerns all along about Sharon's colour scheme,
0:33:28 > 0:33:31but I like a designer who's bold with colour,
0:33:31 > 0:33:33and it might just be coming together.
0:33:34 > 0:33:36Happy with her own progress,
0:33:36 > 0:33:39Sharon takes a moment to have a nosy at one of her rivals.
0:33:40 > 0:33:44I see you're finishing your mural. It's very space age.
0:33:44 > 0:33:47Well, it's meant to be kind of like '60s mod.
0:33:47 > 0:33:50She's still got to put paint on the wardrobes,
0:33:50 > 0:33:54so I now feel a little bit better about my time management.
0:33:54 > 0:33:58'I feel really calm, which I didn't expect to do'
0:33:58 > 0:33:59at seven o'clock this morning.
0:34:01 > 0:34:05Things definitely aren't calm back in Holly's room.
0:34:05 > 0:34:11It turns out that the bed I've ordered doesn't come with a mattress.
0:34:11 > 0:34:15I just think, in these situations, there's no point in panicking
0:34:15 > 0:34:17cos I'm here to win, not to panic.
0:34:17 > 0:34:21The mattress may end up being the least of her worries,
0:34:21 > 0:34:24as her builder thinks constructing the bed itself
0:34:24 > 0:34:25is a bigger job than she thinks.
0:34:25 > 0:34:28I am concerned I'm not going to get the bed up tonight.
0:34:28 > 0:34:31- I'm just going to do as much of it as I can.- You're going to do it?
0:34:31 > 0:34:32Don't you worry about it.
0:34:38 > 0:34:40Frankie is also under time pressure.
0:34:40 > 0:34:43He's only upholstered part of the wardrobe and a shelf.
0:34:43 > 0:34:46And as Andy's partner Hannah comes to check on progress,
0:34:46 > 0:34:48there's still a lot to do.
0:34:48 > 0:34:50Oh, wow.
0:34:51 > 0:34:56- I've got faith in you.- Thank you. I really much appreciate your trust.
0:34:56 > 0:34:57I won't let you down.
0:34:57 > 0:35:00I hope he's going to manage to finish it all
0:35:00 > 0:35:02without killing himself.
0:35:03 > 0:35:07The visit has made Frankie realise how ambitious he's been.
0:35:08 > 0:35:11I've got that panel and then the divider,
0:35:11 > 0:35:16plus the valance still to match, really.
0:35:17 > 0:35:20I'll be all right, I'm just like a ship
0:35:20 > 0:35:23right in the middle of the storm.
0:35:23 > 0:35:28That's why, you know, I'm struggling with the whole thing.
0:35:31 > 0:35:35Frankie's left himself with lots of decorative fabric work still to do.
0:35:35 > 0:35:39But soft silks and linens are a far cry from the building's
0:35:39 > 0:35:41original construction materials.
0:35:41 > 0:35:43The man who designed the building, Owen Williams,
0:35:43 > 0:35:45was an engineer, not an architect.
0:35:45 > 0:35:48So he came to the project with very different sensibilities.
0:35:48 > 0:35:51He specialised in industrial structures and he was an expert in
0:35:51 > 0:35:56reinforced concrete, a material used rarely as boldly as this in Britain.
0:35:58 > 0:36:02The building is symmetrical, made up of four rectangular blocks
0:36:02 > 0:36:04grouped around this central swimming pool.
0:36:04 > 0:36:07Originally, the whole inside would have been open-plan,
0:36:07 > 0:36:09the only walls made out of glass.
0:36:09 > 0:36:12This was absolutely crucial to Dr Williamson,
0:36:12 > 0:36:15he compared the whole building to a biologist's telescope.
0:36:17 > 0:36:21Tomorrow, the designers will be under the microscope,
0:36:21 > 0:36:23and as day two draws to a close,
0:36:23 > 0:36:26they are all concerned about the competition.
0:36:26 > 0:36:31My biggest worry tomorrow is the concrete mirror.
0:36:31 > 0:36:34It could crack, so that's going to be very nerve-racking.
0:36:36 > 0:36:40It's getting a bit late, the sun has gone down. I'm pretty tired.
0:36:40 > 0:36:43But I'm still 100 percent confident that everything will get finished.
0:36:43 > 0:36:48I don't want it to end tomorrow. I deserve to be still here.
0:36:49 > 0:36:53I said I wouldn't cry, it sounds really pathetic,
0:36:53 > 0:36:56but it's a lot of hard work to get to this point.
0:36:57 > 0:37:02For the second time running, Frankie plans to take work into the night.
0:37:02 > 0:37:07Unfortunately, it's still going to be a very late night for me.
0:37:07 > 0:37:10I just have to keep going.
0:37:15 > 0:37:18It's the start of day three, and our designers have just got
0:37:18 > 0:37:21a few hours left to finish off their schemes,
0:37:21 > 0:37:24and nobody wants to be the one that's going home.
0:37:24 > 0:37:27The curtain rail, still lots to do, lists and lists.
0:37:27 > 0:37:29But I'm secretly confident.
0:37:29 > 0:37:33I'm so tired because another late night.
0:37:33 > 0:37:37It's becoming more of a physical challenge.
0:37:37 > 0:37:40Pretty tired, but I can't wait to see it all come together.
0:37:41 > 0:37:44I feel incredibly relaxed today.
0:37:44 > 0:37:47I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing.
0:37:50 > 0:37:52She may be feeling relaxed,
0:37:52 > 0:37:54but there's nothing calm about her colours.
0:37:54 > 0:37:58The dressing table and drawers are coral pink.
0:37:58 > 0:38:01And she's finishing off her bright blue curtains.
0:38:01 > 0:38:02Well, trying to.
0:38:04 > 0:38:06Unfortunately, I've not got my glasses.
0:38:06 > 0:38:09Being old, I can't see to thread my needle.
0:38:12 > 0:38:13No, I can't see it.
0:38:21 > 0:38:23They're for driving.
0:38:24 > 0:38:25Oh!
0:38:28 > 0:38:31- How is Sharon's colourful scheme looking?- It's coming together.
0:38:31 > 0:38:34She's definitely been bold and confident with her colour choices.
0:38:34 > 0:38:37But there are some spatial planning issues.
0:38:37 > 0:38:40She's put a book case against a wardrobe and has lost,
0:38:40 > 0:38:43oh, I'd say about half a square metre of space.
0:38:43 > 0:38:47And when you think that these flats are probably £5,000 a metre,
0:38:47 > 0:38:49I'm not so happy about that.
0:38:51 > 0:38:52With just a few hours to go,
0:38:52 > 0:38:56Frankie is adding padded panels to his wardrobe doors.
0:38:59 > 0:39:02But his fastidiousness is threatening to hold him back.
0:39:04 > 0:39:07They're slightly off the line.
0:39:07 > 0:39:10Which I won't allow that.
0:39:10 > 0:39:13So I'd rather unpick them and do it again.
0:39:13 > 0:39:16Frankie is doing an awful lot, isn't he?
0:39:16 > 0:39:20Well...it is a concern, because he's got an ambitious project,
0:39:20 > 0:39:23but what's more he is such a perfectionist.
0:39:23 > 0:39:27And I hope he fully realises the constraints of time.
0:39:29 > 0:39:31And it's time that Jane needs
0:39:31 > 0:39:34to add texture to her pared-back Scandi scheme,
0:39:34 > 0:39:36with a £90 copper light.
0:39:36 > 0:39:38Oh, it's amazing!
0:39:38 > 0:39:41I love it, I love it, I love it.
0:39:41 > 0:39:43I've obviously got good taste.
0:39:45 > 0:39:47Oh, wowsers. Awesome.
0:39:47 > 0:39:52She's made concrete tea-light holders to match the mirror.
0:39:52 > 0:39:55Hopefully it's completely set
0:39:55 > 0:39:58and has had time over the last couple of days to dry out.
0:39:58 > 0:40:03Well, fingers crossed, that's worked well. I'm happy with that.
0:40:03 > 0:40:05That's a good omen that we're going to be all right
0:40:05 > 0:40:08with the concrete mirror frame.
0:40:09 > 0:40:12Jane had to revise her scheme, so how is her second scheme shaping up?
0:40:12 > 0:40:16It's looking very bright and white in there.
0:40:16 > 0:40:19But she's got the wood-effect floor down, which I have to say
0:40:19 > 0:40:23was a good choice, it does add a bit of warmth to that room.
0:40:23 > 0:40:26Holly is adding warmth with hands-on craft projects.
0:40:26 > 0:40:28But she seems to have forgotten about
0:40:28 > 0:40:30the elephant, or bed, in the room.
0:40:30 > 0:40:34So, while she busies herself with the fluffier stuff...
0:40:34 > 0:40:35Yes!
0:40:35 > 0:40:37..she's handed the bed back to her builder.
0:40:37 > 0:40:42This bed has been somewhat sprung on me, last minute.
0:40:43 > 0:40:46Has Holly proved as crafty as she looked?
0:40:46 > 0:40:50Our concern all along has been, is she doing a bit too much,
0:40:50 > 0:40:53and is that little bedroom going to look rather cluttered?
0:40:53 > 0:40:57Our designers have had three days and £1,000 to transform their rooms.
0:40:57 > 0:41:00They've been tested on their client presentation skills
0:41:00 > 0:41:03and had to show that they can think fast
0:41:03 > 0:41:07to create an original piece which will be judged in the final room.
0:41:08 > 0:41:10Now, their time is nearly up.
0:41:12 > 0:41:15The obsession with straight lines has gone right out of the window.
0:41:15 > 0:41:18With concerns all round about Sharon's colour choices,
0:41:18 > 0:41:21she's now got minutes left to tie it all together
0:41:21 > 0:41:24and prove she can pull off the bold scheme.
0:41:24 > 0:41:26I'm panicking, I can't move this though.
0:41:26 > 0:41:31The relaxation she felt at the start of the day has evaporated.
0:41:31 > 0:41:33Give me the box with the rings. Ah!
0:41:35 > 0:41:39I know this sounds really stupid, but if you come across a panda...
0:41:48 > 0:41:50Your goal is to give it your best.
0:41:50 > 0:41:54And I'm really proud of what I've achieved over the last 48 hours.
0:41:54 > 0:41:59Sharon's brief was to create an artistic, Bloomsbury-inspired look
0:41:59 > 0:42:00for a master bedroom.
0:42:02 > 0:42:04Three days ago, this room was a white box.
0:42:11 > 0:42:14Now, it's awash with colour and pattern.
0:42:14 > 0:42:17Sharon has painted the furniture in striking shades,
0:42:17 > 0:42:20changed the layout to create a library area,
0:42:20 > 0:42:23added handmade soft furnishings
0:42:23 > 0:42:25and dark-blue curtains.
0:42:26 > 0:42:28I feel it couldn't have worked better, colour-wise.
0:42:28 > 0:42:30If I'd pulled that back,
0:42:30 > 0:42:33it wouldn't have had the dramatic effect it's got now.
0:42:38 > 0:42:40I think, as a colour scheme, it really works.
0:42:40 > 0:42:43This green punching it up with that electric blue.
0:42:43 > 0:42:46It is a lot darker in here, but you know what, this is a bedroom,
0:42:46 > 0:42:49and I find this really relaxing,
0:42:49 > 0:42:52it's like the room's giving you a lovely hug at night.
0:42:52 > 0:42:57She's put the shelving here and the wardrobe finishes here.
0:42:57 > 0:43:02So we've got a whole square metre of space lost in that corner.
0:43:02 > 0:43:05Now, if she'd stuck this on wheels,
0:43:05 > 0:43:09so you could push this back when you're not using it,
0:43:09 > 0:43:11then I would have been really impressed.
0:43:11 > 0:43:14As well as judging the overall designs,
0:43:14 > 0:43:16Sophie and Daniel are looking out for
0:43:16 > 0:43:20how well the upcycled tennis rackets fit into the finished schemes.
0:43:20 > 0:43:22It's a picture frame.
0:43:22 > 0:43:25I mean, the homeowner did want to have photographs through the room
0:43:25 > 0:43:28and I was loving and admiring these and thinking,
0:43:28 > 0:43:31maybe there could be a few more. Well, they've got it.
0:43:31 > 0:43:34How happy each homeowner is with the finished room
0:43:34 > 0:43:36will also inform the judges' decision.
0:43:37 > 0:43:38She'll like it.
0:43:40 > 0:43:42Here we are, your new boudoir.
0:43:43 > 0:43:44Ohh!
0:43:46 > 0:43:49Utter transformation.
0:43:49 > 0:43:51I was concerned about this blue yesterday.
0:43:51 > 0:43:52But it's pulled together.
0:43:53 > 0:43:59I think the pink drawers, that's kind of a pastel-y pink,
0:43:59 > 0:44:02and that was something I didn't want.
0:44:02 > 0:44:04But, you know, this is gorgeous.
0:44:06 > 0:44:07As his deadline approaches,
0:44:07 > 0:44:11Frankie has finally finished his wardrobe doors.
0:44:11 > 0:44:14I'm not very happy with it, to be honest with you.
0:44:14 > 0:44:18I hate to do it to you - you mustn't forget the blind.
0:44:18 > 0:44:20After huge delays getting his fabric,
0:44:20 > 0:44:22it's now a race to the finish.
0:44:28 > 0:44:29That to the top.
0:44:29 > 0:44:32Absolutely crazy.
0:44:35 > 0:44:36Oh, my God.
0:44:36 > 0:44:40I just need to straighten that lantern.
0:44:42 > 0:44:46It was a tiny bit of regret I hadn't done it quite neatly
0:44:46 > 0:44:49as my standard.
0:44:49 > 0:44:52But the whole look is there.
0:44:52 > 0:44:55The room now is absolutely beautiful.
0:44:57 > 0:45:00Frankie's task was to create a minimal look
0:45:00 > 0:45:02for a multipurpose spare room.
0:45:03 > 0:45:07Three days ago, it was somewhere you'd rather just shut the door on.
0:45:14 > 0:45:17Now, it's a streamlined and tranquil bedroom.
0:45:17 > 0:45:21Frankie has divided the room into sleeping and working areas.
0:45:23 > 0:45:25He's upholstered the wardrobes and shelves.
0:45:26 > 0:45:29He's used kimono silk on the blind
0:45:29 > 0:45:32and the back panel of his unique drawer design.
0:45:34 > 0:45:38I hope the judges now are not going to look at small details.
0:45:38 > 0:45:41I just hope they can look at all the positive things I've done.
0:45:45 > 0:45:49I just think, you know, my first impressions are lovely, clean lines,
0:45:49 > 0:45:53this very pared-back and very minimally styled,
0:45:53 > 0:45:55and the fabrics are just little hints of them,
0:45:55 > 0:45:57they're not too much of them.
0:45:57 > 0:46:01But I have to say, Sophie, something went dreadfully wrong
0:46:01 > 0:46:05with these doors and he's not been able to get the finish he wanted.
0:46:05 > 0:46:07Let's just check that drawer.
0:46:08 > 0:46:09That's not going to work, is it?
0:46:09 > 0:46:13If you want to get a certain coloured pair of socks out,
0:46:13 > 0:46:15you're not going to find them, are you?
0:46:15 > 0:46:19Time to see what the judges make of the tennis racket cup-holder,
0:46:19 > 0:46:21now it's in the finished room.
0:46:21 > 0:46:24I do like the idea that he's built this piece here.
0:46:24 > 0:46:27Just like in Japan, you know how rooms have sliding doors
0:46:27 > 0:46:30and they turn into something else and bedrooms become living rooms.
0:46:30 > 0:46:33And that he's done that here as well.
0:46:36 > 0:46:40My clients were really looking forward to my design.
0:46:40 > 0:46:42I hope I haven't messed it up.
0:46:42 > 0:46:44Right, your new guest bedroom.
0:46:47 > 0:46:50- It's lovely. - It's got a calm feeling, hasn't it?
0:46:50 > 0:46:52- It's really calm. - What do you make of his linen?
0:46:52 > 0:46:55- There's a lot of linen going on. - There is a lot of linen.
0:46:55 > 0:46:59A few glitches, maybe. There's just things not quite finished.
0:46:59 > 0:47:01But I think the style is really lovely.
0:47:04 > 0:47:06It's the moment of truth for Jane.
0:47:06 > 0:47:10Time to remove her concrete mirror frame from its mould.
0:47:10 > 0:47:11This bit is moving.
0:47:11 > 0:47:13But this bit is not.
0:47:25 > 0:47:29It's cracked there and there. That's what it was supposed to look like.
0:47:29 > 0:47:32Shall we just scrap the whole thing?
0:47:32 > 0:47:34The frameless mirror is a big blow to Jane,
0:47:34 > 0:47:37as having battled so hard with her homeowner,
0:47:37 > 0:47:40she's now almost out of time to get her Scandi look right.
0:47:40 > 0:47:43Unbelievable. Everything's gone wrong.
0:47:55 > 0:47:57Oh, deary me!
0:47:57 > 0:47:59Well done, it looks great.
0:48:01 > 0:48:02I feel shellshocked.
0:48:02 > 0:48:06The concrete mirror maybe was a bit overambitious.
0:48:06 > 0:48:08Fair play, it hasn't worked.
0:48:08 > 0:48:11Life's too short to worry about it.
0:48:11 > 0:48:16Jane was asked to create a simple Scandinavian-style bedroom.
0:48:16 > 0:48:19Three days ago, this room was unremarkable.
0:48:26 > 0:48:29Now, it feels fresh and bright.
0:48:29 > 0:48:32There are elements of nature in the bark candles,
0:48:32 > 0:48:34bedside table and shelving.
0:48:34 > 0:48:38While Jane has added an industrial edge with concrete tea-light holders
0:48:38 > 0:48:40and copper accessories.
0:48:40 > 0:48:42And there's ample storage.
0:48:42 > 0:48:45I think the judges will think, overall,
0:48:45 > 0:48:47I've got the look that I was after.
0:48:47 > 0:48:52I've tried to be creative and put my character in there.
0:48:55 > 0:48:57It's light and bright, isn't it?
0:48:57 > 0:49:00She's picked up on this theme of nature
0:49:00 > 0:49:03and bark going through the room, from the shelf here,
0:49:03 > 0:49:07bedside tables, which is an old tree trunk on rollers,
0:49:07 > 0:49:09- to the handles.- I love these. - Quite cool, aren't they?
0:49:09 > 0:49:11These are really cool.
0:49:11 > 0:49:14I know the homeowner asked for something quite pared back
0:49:14 > 0:49:18and well organised, but I am left feeling like it's a bit empty.
0:49:18 > 0:49:21One thing that I really loved about this room before it got redesigned
0:49:21 > 0:49:24was the adorable collection of pictures and prints
0:49:24 > 0:49:26which she'd arranged on this big wall here,
0:49:26 > 0:49:30which I must admit I'm a bit disappointed to see that dismantled.
0:49:30 > 0:49:32I know, they've put the pictures over the bed head,
0:49:32 > 0:49:35so you're never going to see them cos when you sit in bed
0:49:35 > 0:49:36you're looking at a blank white wall.
0:49:36 > 0:49:41One thing you can see from the bed is Jane's upcycled tennis racket.
0:49:41 > 0:49:44I quite like that. She's painted the strings in black with the handle,
0:49:44 > 0:49:47so it fits in with her scheme, so she's thought about
0:49:47 > 0:49:50integrating it and turned it into something useful.
0:49:52 > 0:49:55I think the homeowner will be happy.
0:49:55 > 0:49:58I'm so glad it's not a white floor,
0:49:58 > 0:50:00and I think she'll agree when she sees it.
0:50:02 > 0:50:04- Come in.- Ohh!
0:50:07 > 0:50:09Wow, it looks totally different.
0:50:10 > 0:50:14It's very white. That's going to take a lot of getting used to.
0:50:15 > 0:50:17Yeah, it's definitely a big wall.
0:50:17 > 0:50:21I think it's probably 90 percent there.
0:50:25 > 0:50:27Finally, Holly must finish her room.
0:50:27 > 0:50:29It's literally going to come together
0:50:29 > 0:50:32within the last few minutes. I'm a bit stressed.
0:50:32 > 0:50:36She must bring all the different arts and crafts elements together.
0:50:36 > 0:50:39Lean them on the corner of the bed for now.
0:50:39 > 0:50:42I'm going to get these curtains on here in 60 seconds.
0:50:42 > 0:50:45- Where are the screws that go in this...?- They are...
0:50:45 > 0:50:47They were on the side. Somebody's moved them.
0:50:47 > 0:50:49Got them, got them.
0:50:51 > 0:50:54Lights on, please.
0:50:54 > 0:50:55Done.
0:51:00 > 0:51:02All of the kind of craft projects
0:51:02 > 0:51:06and all of the sort of personal touches and everything,
0:51:06 > 0:51:08I've prioritised that and I stand by that.
0:51:08 > 0:51:13Holly's brief was to create a retro but fresh teenage bedroom.
0:51:14 > 0:51:18Three days ago, the room was cluttered, with no distinct style.
0:51:23 > 0:51:27Now, Holly has made the most of the space by creating zones.
0:51:27 > 0:51:30She's tied the room together with pastel shades
0:51:30 > 0:51:32and a recurring circle motif.
0:51:32 > 0:51:35She's filled the room with crafty touches,
0:51:35 > 0:51:39like bespoke lighting, the selfie booth and hand-printed cushions.
0:51:41 > 0:51:43I think I've achieved the look I wanted for the room.
0:51:43 > 0:51:45Overall, I'm fairly confident.
0:51:49 > 0:51:52My first impression is this looks quite well organised.
0:51:52 > 0:51:55This is sort of the dressing area here.
0:51:55 > 0:51:57- That's part of the selfie area too. - Yeah.
0:51:57 > 0:52:00Oh, you look so gorgeous.
0:52:00 > 0:52:02It certainly feels light and uplifting
0:52:02 > 0:52:04and it's not that sunny out there right now,
0:52:04 > 0:52:06but this room feels very bright and light.
0:52:06 > 0:52:08I think her colours are spot-on
0:52:08 > 0:52:11and this mural on the wall is a total triumph. I love it.
0:52:11 > 0:52:14I wouldn't say it's a total triumph, I wouldn't get that excited.
0:52:14 > 0:52:16She's also said she wanted it to feel very '60s,
0:52:16 > 0:52:20and actually it doesn't feel '60s enough.
0:52:20 > 0:52:24I was a bit worried that this room was going to look overly handmade.
0:52:24 > 0:52:27On balance, I think she's got it right.
0:52:27 > 0:52:29One of Holly's many handmade projects
0:52:29 > 0:52:32was the all-important tennis racket upcycle.
0:52:32 > 0:52:35- Having seen what she's done with the handles...- They're genius.
0:52:35 > 0:52:37They're brilliant, really neat.
0:52:37 > 0:52:39Not so happy with what happened to the head of the racket.
0:52:39 > 0:52:43- I think that's really rather dreadful.- It is a bit, isn't it?
0:52:44 > 0:52:48I think the homeowner will really like all the colour schemes
0:52:48 > 0:52:50and all the little personal, quirky touches.
0:52:50 > 0:52:52Come in, Bea. Come in, Emma.
0:52:53 > 0:52:55Oh, wow!
0:52:55 > 0:52:57- Are you speechless?- Yeah.
0:52:57 > 0:53:01- It's just so much bigger.- Yeah. - It's really odd.
0:53:01 > 0:53:04And what do you think about the bed, cos you've moved from a double bed
0:53:04 > 0:53:07into a single, is that all right when you have your friends over?
0:53:07 > 0:53:09I think it's going to be a change,
0:53:09 > 0:53:11but I think it will be a nice change.
0:53:13 > 0:53:17Rooms viewed, there's no more they can do but wait to see
0:53:17 > 0:53:19which one of them will leave the competition.
0:53:19 > 0:53:22I want to stay and go through to the next round
0:53:22 > 0:53:24cos I want to do it all again.
0:53:24 > 0:53:27It means a lot because it's who I am.
0:53:27 > 0:53:32And for the judges to appreciate it would be unbelievable.
0:53:32 > 0:53:35If I do go through, it will be wonderful
0:53:35 > 0:53:38because I've been waiting for that door to open
0:53:38 > 0:53:42for a very, very, very long time.
0:53:42 > 0:53:45I'd absolutely love to get through to the last round.
0:53:45 > 0:53:47It's been absolutely fantastic, so much fun.
0:53:49 > 0:53:53So, judges, have our designers been as pioneering as this building?
0:53:53 > 0:53:57I think what's really impressed me, from quite simple, generic spaces,
0:53:57 > 0:53:59we've got four very individual room schemes.
0:53:59 > 0:54:03Holly really put a lot of crafty, original ideas into that scheme.
0:54:03 > 0:54:06My concern, really, in terms of answering the brief,
0:54:06 > 0:54:08I felt that perhaps it was a little childish,
0:54:08 > 0:54:12and this is a sophisticated 11-year-old, soon to be a teenager,
0:54:12 > 0:54:14and there are elements that are a bit too kiddie.
0:54:14 > 0:54:17Both homeowners loved it.
0:54:17 > 0:54:21- Oh!- Oh!- That's a great reward for someone who worked jolly hard.
0:54:21 > 0:54:23Sharon was asked for a modern take on the Bloomsbury set.
0:54:23 > 0:54:25Were you impressed with her scheme?
0:54:25 > 0:54:28I was really impressed by her colours,
0:54:28 > 0:54:30a really nice, unusual combination.
0:54:30 > 0:54:34But she also placed a bookcase beside a wardrobe
0:54:34 > 0:54:37and lost quite a lot of space between the two.
0:54:37 > 0:54:41And in flats this small, that's a major faux pas.
0:54:41 > 0:54:45Her homeowner wasn't entirely convinced about the dusky pink.
0:54:45 > 0:54:47I was quite suspicious that might happen.
0:54:47 > 0:54:51Jane's homeowner wanted a natural room with Scandi simplicity,
0:54:51 > 0:54:54but she was not really impressed by that entire wall
0:54:54 > 0:54:55and corner that had nothing in it.
0:54:55 > 0:54:58Absolutely, it a was very clean and simple space,
0:54:58 > 0:55:01but at moments it was just a little bit too sparse.
0:55:01 > 0:55:04The whole idea with the Scandi theme is lack of colour.
0:55:04 > 0:55:05But where there's a lack of colour,
0:55:05 > 0:55:08you've got to really ramp up the texture.
0:55:08 > 0:55:10She had elements there - concrete, copper, linen -
0:55:10 > 0:55:13but none of them were really working next to one another,
0:55:13 > 0:55:14they were just dotted around the room.
0:55:14 > 0:55:19Frankie's client asked for a minimalist guest bedroom-cum-office.
0:55:19 > 0:55:20Well, it wasn't quite minimalist,
0:55:20 > 0:55:23but they certainly got a Japanese aesthetic.
0:55:23 > 0:55:26And what he was really good at doing was unifying that space.
0:55:26 > 0:55:29So it had a sense of calmness.
0:55:29 > 0:55:31And yet at the same time entertained.
0:55:31 > 0:55:34The homeowner quite liked the decorative elements.
0:55:34 > 0:55:36She wasn't quite convinced by the finish.
0:55:36 > 0:55:38There were lots of bits that weren't finished.
0:55:38 > 0:55:41Maybe he was overambitious in what he could achieve in the time.
0:55:41 > 0:55:44I think, for a designer who's all about fabric,
0:55:44 > 0:55:46it was a very disappointing finish.
0:55:52 > 0:55:54When the Pioneer Health Centre was built,
0:55:54 > 0:55:57it was the most radical building in the country, bar none.
0:55:57 > 0:56:00So I hope some of its spirit rubbed off on you.
0:56:00 > 0:56:03It did produce rather generic box rooms.
0:56:03 > 0:56:07But you guys have completely transformed them, well done.
0:56:07 > 0:56:10And with all of you, I've seen a huge amount of making,
0:56:10 > 0:56:13creativity and original design.
0:56:13 > 0:56:17One of you though has to go home this time.
0:56:17 > 0:56:19The judges have made their decision
0:56:19 > 0:56:21and the designer we're saying goodbye to is...
0:56:25 > 0:56:26..Jane.
0:56:30 > 0:56:33- It's all right.- Sorry, love. It's very tough.- It's fine.
0:56:33 > 0:56:36Obviously it's a bit sad, but I'm quite relieved
0:56:36 > 0:56:38because I can get my life back.
0:56:38 > 0:56:41It's not the end, I've got some brilliant advice off the judges
0:56:41 > 0:56:44and it's a start, I think.
0:56:44 > 0:56:46An amazing start.
0:56:46 > 0:56:48You've done such a brilliant job.
0:56:48 > 0:56:51Sadly, we've had to let go of Jane
0:56:51 > 0:56:54because she didn't master the Scandinavian style.
0:56:54 > 0:56:57She should have taken it by the scruff of its neck,
0:56:57 > 0:57:00wrestled it down and showed who's in charge.
0:57:00 > 0:57:03Oh, Sharon, it's brilliant.
0:57:03 > 0:57:05Getting through is such a relief.
0:57:05 > 0:57:09That's definitely inspired me to really up my game now next time.
0:57:09 > 0:57:11Sharon produced a bold colour scheme
0:57:11 > 0:57:15which tells me that she has got confidence.
0:57:15 > 0:57:17- It's a proper lady's room now. - It is, isn't it?
0:57:17 > 0:57:19However, she needs to work on the layout
0:57:19 > 0:57:22to really maximise the impact of her scheme.
0:57:22 > 0:57:23What do you think?
0:57:23 > 0:57:27Yeah, I think it's a massive change from the room before.
0:57:27 > 0:57:30Like you just moved the room out and put a new one in.
0:57:30 > 0:57:32I'm a bit speechless, really excited,
0:57:32 > 0:57:36can't wait to do it all again. Can't wait to come up with some new ideas.
0:57:36 > 0:57:38Holly was in her element.
0:57:38 > 0:57:40But what's going to happen
0:57:40 > 0:57:43when she gets a much more sophisticated brief?
0:57:43 > 0:57:45Can she deliver that?
0:57:46 > 0:57:47Well done.
0:57:47 > 0:57:50'The timing is my biggest concern.'
0:57:50 > 0:57:53I feel I let myself down a little bit.
0:57:53 > 0:57:57What really excites me about Frankie is he took a rather ordinary brief
0:57:57 > 0:58:00and seriously exceeded all our expectations.
0:58:00 > 0:58:02But the finish wasn't up to scratch.
0:58:02 > 0:58:05So he really needs to work on his stress levels
0:58:05 > 0:58:06and manage his time better.
0:58:09 > 0:58:12Next time, in Kentish weather-boarded houses,
0:58:12 > 0:58:14Frankie...
0:58:14 > 0:58:15Waaagh!
0:58:15 > 0:58:16..Sharon...
0:58:16 > 0:58:17I'm on a mission.
0:58:17 > 0:58:19- ..and Holly...- Ohh!
0:58:19 > 0:58:21..compete for just two places in the next round.
0:58:21 > 0:58:24The designer not going through is...
