0:00:02 > 0:00:04I am constantly taken aback by the huge variety of property

0:00:04 > 0:00:07styles in Britain, from character timber frame cottages,

0:00:07 > 0:00:10to grand townhouses.

0:00:10 > 0:00:12But sometimes the insides don't live up to the

0:00:12 > 0:00:14expectations on the outside.

0:00:14 > 0:00:17So, we've gathered together the most talented amateur

0:00:17 > 0:00:20interior designers who think they could be the next big thing,

0:00:20 > 0:00:24to show us how it's done. But it's not as easy as it looks.

0:00:24 > 0:00:26Ah!

0:00:26 > 0:00:27I feel really sick.

0:00:27 > 0:00:29Across three knockout episodes,

0:00:29 > 0:00:34a group of designers will compete for one place in finals week.

0:00:34 > 0:00:35Ta-da!

0:00:35 > 0:00:37It looks amazing. It looks exactly how I wanted it.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39Love it, love it, love it!

0:00:39 > 0:00:44Judging them, two industry experts. Daniel Hopwood...

0:00:44 > 0:00:45Having survived round one,

0:00:45 > 0:00:48I want to see that the designers have listened to our feedback.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50..and Sophie Robinson.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52They are going to have to take it up a notch

0:00:52 > 0:00:54if they're going to stay in this competition.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57They'll be scrutinising presentation skills...

0:00:57 > 0:00:59That's not the way to present to somebody.

0:00:59 > 0:01:01..artistic flair...

0:01:01 > 0:01:04- Have you ever seen that done before? - No, it's weird.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06..and how well they deliver their brief.

0:01:06 > 0:01:10- Pretty amazing transformation. - Absolutely beautiful.

0:01:10 > 0:01:14In the finals, the best will face giants of the design world.

0:01:14 > 0:01:16- Oliver Heath...- Oh, my word!

0:01:16 > 0:01:19- ..Orla Kiely... - It does look quite rough.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21- ..and Kelly Hoppen. - I want perfection.

0:01:22 > 0:01:25But only one can be crowned winner of the

0:01:25 > 0:01:27Great Interior Design Challenge.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34Last time, four designers battled to impress the judges.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37Wa-hey! Shall we just scrap the whole thing?

0:01:37 > 0:01:39I think that's really rather dreadful.

0:01:39 > 0:01:43One went home. Three of them made it through.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45I've achieved the look I wanted for the room.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48It couldn't have worked better, colour-wise.

0:01:48 > 0:01:51Now, it's absolutely beautiful.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53Now, things are getting even tougher.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56Our designers will be tackling a living room each, in three

0:01:56 > 0:01:59weatherboard properties in Kent.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01So, the look is very bright.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03The clients are more exacting...

0:02:03 > 0:02:05Alarm bells are going off in my head.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07..and the judges' expectations higher...

0:02:07 > 0:02:10I think this scheme is boring.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12If somebody did that in my office, they'd be sacked.

0:02:12 > 0:02:15..as the three designers fight for a place in the next round.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17- GLASS SHATTERS - Whoa!

0:02:17 > 0:02:19- It's game over.- Ah!

0:02:19 > 0:02:21One more must go.

0:02:21 > 0:02:24The designer not going through...

0:02:24 > 0:02:25..is...

0:02:31 > 0:02:35First things first. The backdrop for the design battle

0:02:35 > 0:02:37is one of the most sought-after areas in Kent.

0:02:38 > 0:02:40The picturesque village of Rolvenden.

0:02:42 > 0:02:45Kent may be renowned today as a Garden of England,

0:02:45 > 0:02:48but, originally, it was covered in a dense forest which may

0:02:48 > 0:02:52explain why wood is the number one building material round here.

0:02:54 > 0:02:58For 500 years, its homes have been covered in wooden planks

0:02:58 > 0:03:00painted a traditional and uniform white.

0:03:03 > 0:03:08Our designers will now be working in three Grade II-listed cottages,

0:03:08 > 0:03:11each with their own specific planning restrictions.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21Right, let's crack on.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23The designers have been working on a brief

0:03:23 > 0:03:25from their home owners for the past week.

0:03:25 > 0:03:29Quite exciting. I've got one more chance to show what I can do.

0:03:29 > 0:03:31Round two. Ding, ding.

0:03:32 > 0:03:36They've each got a small team, including a builder and a decorator.

0:03:36 > 0:03:38It's got some shelves, which I wanted.

0:03:38 > 0:03:40I seem to be in some sort of fantasy world,

0:03:40 > 0:03:43that everything is going to be really hunky-dory

0:03:43 > 0:03:45and it's bloody not. I just need to take a minute to just calm down.

0:03:45 > 0:03:48They also have a budget of £1,000

0:03:48 > 0:03:51and just three days to complete their transformations.

0:03:51 > 0:03:55What I would like to do, ideally, is not use all four roles.

0:03:55 > 0:03:59I'm confident about my design, but it is quite full-on.

0:03:59 > 0:04:02I have injected a little bit of my own style

0:04:02 > 0:04:04and personality into things this time round.

0:04:06 > 0:04:09The first designer is Londoner and doggy day-carer, Holly.

0:04:09 > 0:04:13I'm doing some very exact pattern cutting here.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16For her first project, Holly did a really fun, kid's room.

0:04:16 > 0:04:17There was loads going on in there.

0:04:17 > 0:04:21She's clearly very crafty, but this round,

0:04:21 > 0:04:24I want to know - can she be sophisticated?

0:04:24 > 0:04:27Holly's new room started off plainly decorated.

0:04:27 > 0:04:29Before she got to work, judges Sophie and Daniel

0:04:29 > 0:04:32sussed out its potential.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35Oh, this room is splendid, isn't it?

0:04:35 > 0:04:36It's amazing.

0:04:36 > 0:04:40It is a cacophony of architectural features, from everybody's dream -

0:04:40 > 0:04:44an inglenook fireplace - to these heavily carved beams.

0:04:44 > 0:04:48Holly's home owners want a grown-up and elegant scheme in classic

0:04:48 > 0:04:51heritage colours with a touch of daring.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54The thing with Holly, is, she's all singing and dancing

0:04:54 > 0:04:57and she'll bring lots of new elements into the room,

0:04:57 > 0:05:00but here, she's got to be more subtle in her approach.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03You're right. We want to see her bring a touch of sophistication,

0:05:03 > 0:05:05if she can manage that.

0:05:05 > 0:05:08Holly's take on the elegant brief includes a doggy-patterned

0:05:08 > 0:05:12wallpaper, industrial lighting and metallic leather

0:05:12 > 0:05:14and tweed materials.

0:05:14 > 0:05:17So, this is the ideas that I've come up for you.

0:05:17 > 0:05:20As well as approval from clients, Martha and Joff,

0:05:20 > 0:05:23Holly must impress the judges, too,

0:05:23 > 0:05:26since she and her rivals will be ranked on their presentation skills.

0:05:26 > 0:05:30I have kind of called it this grown-up sultry teddy bear's picnic.

0:05:30 > 0:05:34- OK.- That's the kind of thing we're going for.

0:05:34 > 0:05:36- So, this is the wallpaper.- OK.

0:05:36 > 0:05:38It is quite bold and it is quite dark.

0:05:38 > 0:05:42My first reaction is that's quite a playful thing for quite

0:05:42 > 0:05:43a sophisticated room.

0:05:43 > 0:05:46Yeah, I'm sort of struggling on that, I must admit,

0:05:46 > 0:05:48- a little bit at the moment.- OK.

0:05:48 > 0:05:50All you're sort of seeing is the dogs.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53Yeah, so the other thing that we've got going in is lighting,

0:05:53 > 0:05:55so sort of industrial.

0:05:55 > 0:05:58It'll make it that little bit more modern and I've also got some

0:05:58 > 0:06:02- wall lights, which I'm going to make out of copper.- Erm...

0:06:04 > 0:06:06- Not sure about that one. - OK, that's fine.

0:06:06 > 0:06:09I think we have to respect the historic nature of the building.

0:06:09 > 0:06:12- Yeah.- I'll tell you what, if you give me the wallpaper...

0:06:12 > 0:06:14- It all needs to work together. - ..I'll cut out some of the other

0:06:14 > 0:06:16- industrial elements. - OK, what do you think?

0:06:16 > 0:06:18Are we going for the wallpaper?

0:06:18 > 0:06:21I just don't want it to be too boring, in all honesty,

0:06:21 > 0:06:23because I would just ask you... I'm going to try

0:06:23 > 0:06:28and push you into your brave zone to go for it and to trust me.

0:06:28 > 0:06:32That was possibly one of the most uncomfortable briefings that

0:06:32 > 0:06:33I've had to sit through.

0:06:33 > 0:06:36She basically said to them, "What you've asked for is boring,

0:06:36 > 0:06:38"so I'm ignoring all of it and this is what you're going to get."

0:06:38 > 0:06:41And it's not fair. What's with the spaniels?

0:06:41 > 0:06:44If someone did that in my office, they'd be sacked.

0:06:44 > 0:06:46And with work underway on the room,

0:06:46 > 0:06:50Holly's homeowners are still having major doubts about the wallpaper.

0:06:50 > 0:06:53I'm liking the colour of it, it's just quite often I know that I'm

0:06:53 > 0:06:55not going to like the end result and

0:06:55 > 0:06:58alarm bells are going off in my head.

0:06:58 > 0:07:01- That's it, that's fine. - They want to take a closer look.

0:07:04 > 0:07:09For me, I think that's...

0:07:09 > 0:07:12It's just not right for this room, I don't think, at all.

0:07:12 > 0:07:15OK, let's roll this up, then. OK, cool, let's get rid of it.

0:07:15 > 0:07:18Definitely frustrating for us that we've had to do that,

0:07:18 > 0:07:23but I think it's important that we start off on the right foot.

0:07:23 > 0:07:26I think it's going to be really difficult now, to do something

0:07:26 > 0:07:31that's going to impress the judges in terms of its originality.

0:07:31 > 0:07:33If I'm honest, it makes me think, that's probably it, for me,

0:07:33 > 0:07:35in the competition.

0:07:38 > 0:07:42Hoping he'll have no such problems is second designer Frankie.

0:07:42 > 0:07:44Originally from Taiwan, he now lives in Surrey.

0:07:44 > 0:07:47Perfect, let's do that.

0:07:47 > 0:07:50Last time, Frankie was all about fabrics.

0:07:50 > 0:07:52Magic that they were, this time,

0:07:52 > 0:07:56I don't want him relying on the power of the textile.

0:07:56 > 0:07:58Frankie's new challenge is to update a living room,

0:07:58 > 0:08:02which, before work started, was rather old-fashioned.

0:08:02 > 0:08:03What do you think of this, Dan?

0:08:03 > 0:08:05Oh, it's the perfect front room, in fact,

0:08:05 > 0:08:07it's the perfect Georgian front room.

0:08:07 > 0:08:10The only one thing that is a bit weird for me, though,

0:08:10 > 0:08:12this inglenook fireplace, which would've been

0:08:12 > 0:08:16built 150 years earlier than this room, it is quite brutish

0:08:16 > 0:08:21and this is very refined and the two don't really go together very well.

0:08:21 > 0:08:25Frankie's clients want to keep the room classic and formal,

0:08:25 > 0:08:27with a sense of occasion for entertaining friends.

0:08:27 > 0:08:30This room, if I'm honest, I think, looks a little tired

0:08:30 > 0:08:32and dated, but there's some really nice fabrics in here.

0:08:32 > 0:08:36We know Frankie's a designer who's all about the fabrics.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38Let's see if he can recognise which pieces are good to keep

0:08:38 > 0:08:41and where he needs to be a bit more inventive.

0:08:41 > 0:08:45Fabric does loom large in Frankie's pistachio-green Renaissance garden

0:08:45 > 0:08:49scheme, with a terracotta tapestry on the furniture.

0:08:49 > 0:08:54So, come up with an idea which is inspired by this sofa

0:08:54 > 0:08:57and also your curtains.

0:08:57 > 0:09:01But, first, he needed the go-ahead from his clients, Anthony and Susie.

0:09:01 > 0:09:04- It looks really good. - Great, I'm glad you like it.

0:09:04 > 0:09:06I do, I like it, I like it a lot.

0:09:06 > 0:09:12And, for the coffee table, you mentioned you liked a drink area,

0:09:12 > 0:09:15so we're going to do an upcycle project.

0:09:17 > 0:09:19Cut it in half.

0:09:19 > 0:09:23We're going to remove the legs, replace it with some longer legs.

0:09:23 > 0:09:26- Oh, OK.- So, when you need to mix your drink...

0:09:26 > 0:09:27From the alcohol cupboard.

0:09:27 > 0:09:31- ..then you can serve to your guests straight away.- Pretty good, yeah.

0:09:31 > 0:09:32Lovely.

0:09:32 > 0:09:35He's pulling on a lot of the historical references,

0:09:35 > 0:09:38which is what the homeowners wanted. It doesn't look very exciting.

0:09:38 > 0:09:41I can't see he's actually doing a lot. Chopping up a coffee table.

0:09:41 > 0:09:45Yeah, that's it. I think he's not taking any risks.

0:09:45 > 0:09:48With work well underway,

0:09:48 > 0:09:52Frankie's certainly not taking any risks in doing what he does best.

0:09:52 > 0:09:54Fiddling with fabrics.

0:09:54 > 0:09:57I think, so far, so good.

0:09:58 > 0:10:03I'm making a skirt to cover the ottoman. That's just about right.

0:10:03 > 0:10:05I'm happy with that.

0:10:05 > 0:10:09I learned my upholstery skills from YouTube.

0:10:12 > 0:10:16Also self-taught is our final designer Sharon.

0:10:16 > 0:10:19- But it has got wobbly doors. - We need to sort the doors out.

0:10:19 > 0:10:20We need to sort the doors out.

0:10:20 > 0:10:23Last time, Sharon's colour choice was pretty bold

0:10:23 > 0:10:26and she just about got it right, but, this time,

0:10:26 > 0:10:30if she wants to be successful, it's going to have to be spot on.

0:10:30 > 0:10:34This round, Sharon is transforming what was a rather gloomy

0:10:34 > 0:10:37- living room.- Quite dark. - Very, very dark.

0:10:37 > 0:10:40So, getting light in this room is absolutely essential.

0:10:40 > 0:10:44Yeah, you've got posts in unusual places, so getting this furniture

0:10:44 > 0:10:47to work right and stop it feeling like a hallway

0:10:47 > 0:10:48is quite challenging.

0:10:48 > 0:10:51Sharon's homeowners want a modern room that makes an impact

0:10:51 > 0:10:53with a splash of colour and better lighting.

0:10:53 > 0:10:56But the Grade II listing forbids new drilling

0:10:56 > 0:10:57into the walls and beams.

0:10:57 > 0:10:59Oh, it could go so wrong.

0:10:59 > 0:11:02They're asking for bright and fresh, but rich and dark.

0:11:02 > 0:11:05So making sense of the brief and sense of the space

0:11:05 > 0:11:08- is perhaps one of the biggest challenges.- Exactly.

0:11:08 > 0:11:12Sharon has chosen a lime green and peacock blue scheme with

0:11:12 > 0:11:16monochrome touches, brand-new furniture and accessories.

0:11:16 > 0:11:23So, the look that I've gone for is a very bright colour impact room.

0:11:23 > 0:11:24But before she's started,

0:11:24 > 0:11:27clients Joe and Lisa had their say on her design.

0:11:27 > 0:11:31I've gone for a very, very strong colour on the walls.

0:11:31 > 0:11:36- Are you quite happy with the colour choice?- Yeah, absolutely.

0:11:36 > 0:11:37Oh, good, that's a relief.

0:11:39 > 0:11:43I'm going to use lamps and a standard lamp,

0:11:43 > 0:11:45but I'm going to add a lot of that.

0:11:45 > 0:11:49I would say, with the lighting, as well as putting additional

0:11:49 > 0:11:52lighting in, if you can do anything with the existing light fittings.

0:11:52 > 0:11:55The lighting, I must have admit, has been a nightmare.

0:11:56 > 0:12:00It is just whether we can come up with something,

0:12:00 > 0:12:06but I take on board what you've said and, if I can do something, I will.

0:12:06 > 0:12:09If I can't, I'm a failure.

0:12:09 > 0:12:11Big thinking cap.

0:12:11 > 0:12:14I think, colour scheme-wise, it's super.

0:12:14 > 0:12:17But there are issues in that room. Layout.

0:12:17 > 0:12:20We haven't seen the plan and the lighting.

0:12:20 > 0:12:23It's not great and she hasn't got a solution for it.

0:12:25 > 0:12:27Her builder is well underway.

0:12:27 > 0:12:31Now, Sharon must decide how bold to go with the wall colour.

0:12:31 > 0:12:35Wow! I've brought two different colours of paint,

0:12:35 > 0:12:37because until you get into the space,

0:12:37 > 0:12:41you really can't tell what they're going to look like on the walls.

0:12:41 > 0:12:42I don't like that.

0:12:45 > 0:12:50It's that one. Yeah. That was easy.

0:12:50 > 0:12:51I think.

0:12:59 > 0:13:01The three designers may be well into their workloads,

0:13:01 > 0:13:04but they know they're about to be judged on their mood boards

0:13:04 > 0:13:08and presentation skills, so tensions are high.

0:13:08 > 0:13:10I'm sure there'll be some massive thing that I said

0:13:10 > 0:13:13that I shouldn't have said. I think I was a bit too honest.

0:13:13 > 0:13:16I don't like to be judged, but it's a competition

0:13:16 > 0:13:18and I have to face them.

0:13:18 > 0:13:23They'll either commend me for my sticking to my guns

0:13:23 > 0:13:29or they'll assassinate me for not, erm, following the brief.

0:13:30 > 0:13:33With only two of the designers going through to the next round,

0:13:33 > 0:13:36how well they do here is crucial.

0:13:36 > 0:13:38OK, we've brought you out of your rooms,

0:13:38 > 0:13:42because we want to judge your presentations.

0:13:44 > 0:13:46Let's start with you, Sharon.

0:13:48 > 0:13:52I think you built up a really good rapport with your homeowner,

0:13:52 > 0:13:55but there was no layout plan and I didn't even hear you really

0:13:55 > 0:13:59discuss in any real detail how you're going to lay that room out.

0:13:59 > 0:14:03Holly. Oh, dear.

0:14:03 > 0:14:05They said they didn't like things and you just pressurised them.

0:14:05 > 0:14:07You didn't give them any alternatives,

0:14:07 > 0:14:11you didn't give them any outlook whatsoever and that, really,

0:14:11 > 0:14:14really, is not the way to present to somebody.

0:14:16 > 0:14:19Frankie, a very comprehensive board.

0:14:19 > 0:14:22You got everything on there, layout, sketches, plans,

0:14:22 > 0:14:25so you could really see what that room's going to look like.

0:14:28 > 0:14:31So, based on that...

0:14:32 > 0:14:34Frankie, you come first.

0:14:41 > 0:14:44Sharon, second.

0:14:44 > 0:14:46And, I'm sorry, third, for Holly.

0:14:47 > 0:14:50You've still got a lot of basics to cover, all right?

0:14:52 > 0:14:56If I'm honest, I'm not deflated, because I know what I'm going to do.

0:14:56 > 0:14:58It's going to look absolutely gorgeous.

0:14:58 > 0:15:01I can't believe that I came first.

0:15:03 > 0:15:05Yeah, I'm absolutely speechless.

0:15:05 > 0:15:09I'm being very competitive. That's a bit of a blow, really.

0:15:09 > 0:15:10I'm sticking to my guns.

0:15:10 > 0:15:15There is just absolutely no point decorating a room

0:15:15 > 0:15:18if it's going to be something everybody has seen before.

0:15:20 > 0:15:23With the competition at the front of their minds,

0:15:23 > 0:15:25they all get back to work.

0:15:25 > 0:15:28- There we go. - Oh, you're a genius. That's great.

0:15:28 > 0:15:32Creating three rooms as unique as the houses they're for.

0:15:36 > 0:15:40The white-painted wooden boards that clad these Kentish cottages

0:15:40 > 0:15:44give the village of Rolvenden a picture postcard appeal.

0:15:47 > 0:15:49But the uniformity is misleading.

0:15:49 > 0:15:52The cladding disguises a variety of building techniques

0:15:52 > 0:15:56and homes are anything between 5 and 500 years old.

0:15:58 > 0:16:00Like many buildings around here,

0:16:00 > 0:16:02this one had a face-lift in the 18th century.

0:16:02 > 0:16:04The upper storeys were clad in weather boarding,

0:16:04 > 0:16:08but down below, you can see the old beams peeping out from beneath.

0:16:12 > 0:16:15Time is slipping away from Holly.

0:16:15 > 0:16:18Work in her room has ground to a halt, as she's still trying to

0:16:18 > 0:16:21convince her clients to go with navy walls after

0:16:21 > 0:16:23they vetoed the doggy wallpaper.

0:16:23 > 0:16:25- We've got one with scripting in.- No.

0:16:25 > 0:16:28No, OK, good, because I don't like that one anyway.

0:16:28 > 0:16:30And the boats is a no.

0:16:30 > 0:16:33It's a nice idea, but I'm not sure about that.

0:16:33 > 0:16:35I think Martha and I both agree,

0:16:35 > 0:16:37that's more the direction that we want to go in.

0:16:37 > 0:16:40I'll just be completely honest, it's just so dated.

0:16:41 > 0:16:43Holly is not going down without a fight.

0:16:46 > 0:16:50She was equally determined to stamp her sense of fun in the first round.

0:16:50 > 0:16:52Is like a Swiss cheese.

0:16:52 > 0:16:55Even if it meant going against the brief.

0:16:55 > 0:16:58- The request was for something rather sophisticated.- Yes!

0:16:58 > 0:17:00All those things that Holly's making,

0:17:00 > 0:17:04they're probably just a little bit kiddie for her young client.

0:17:04 > 0:17:07But she proved she could strike a good balance.

0:17:07 > 0:17:10I think her colours are spot on and I think this mural on the wall

0:17:10 > 0:17:11is a total triumph.

0:17:12 > 0:17:16Today, Holly is once again trying to show she knows best.

0:17:16 > 0:17:19There's got to be that sense of where we are in the 21st-century,

0:17:19 > 0:17:21not in the 1800s.

0:17:21 > 0:17:23We've had enough conversations now, so I think you know where we're

0:17:23 > 0:17:26coming from, so if you know you're putting something in which you think

0:17:26 > 0:17:30they're not going to like it, we are the clients, so don't do it.

0:17:30 > 0:17:32- Yes.- OK.- OK.

0:17:32 > 0:17:36Holly needs to find a solution soon if she's to get started on the room.

0:17:40 > 0:17:42Oh, it's fun, isn't it, being a designer?

0:17:42 > 0:17:45She needs to mature up and start responding to a brief,

0:17:45 > 0:17:48giving them what they want and then taking them beyond.

0:17:48 > 0:17:50That's what a professional interior designer does.

0:17:50 > 0:17:53Part of me is tempted to put the dog wallpaper up overnight

0:17:53 > 0:17:54when they're not there.

0:17:57 > 0:18:02Holly's still stuck, but over at Sharon's, it's a hive of activity.

0:18:02 > 0:18:05She's re-upholstering an ottoman in yellow velvet.

0:18:05 > 0:18:08But she still needs to find new lights that will work in such

0:18:08 > 0:18:11a low ceilinged and restricted room.

0:18:11 > 0:18:14We've still got this issue that the homeowners

0:18:14 > 0:18:16want to change the spotlights.

0:18:16 > 0:18:18We can't move them very far, they can't drop,

0:18:18 > 0:18:21they've got to be flush to the ceiling.

0:18:21 > 0:18:25That limits us massively, so I'm on a mission.

0:18:25 > 0:18:28She may have been more prepared in the last round, but it was

0:18:28 > 0:18:31the bold colour scheme that caused concern for the homeowner...

0:18:31 > 0:18:34- A little unsure about the blue... - Right, OK.- ..with the green.

0:18:34 > 0:18:37It's what we discussed, that it needed to be bold.

0:18:37 > 0:18:39..although, she got it right in the end.

0:18:39 > 0:18:43I think, as a colour scheme, it really works.

0:18:43 > 0:18:44Oh!

0:18:47 > 0:18:48This is gorgeous.

0:18:48 > 0:18:52Even if there were some worries about spatial planning.

0:18:52 > 0:18:56You've got a whole square metre of space lost in that corner.

0:18:56 > 0:19:00I think I've found the solution, hopefully.

0:19:00 > 0:19:03This time, Sophie and Daniel expect her to master the basics.

0:19:03 > 0:19:07This is looking pretty strong on the walls, isn't it? What do you think?

0:19:07 > 0:19:12- I love it.- But this room is a dark room and this colour needs light.

0:19:12 > 0:19:14I've got some...

0:19:14 > 0:19:18They're shades, but they're going right up to the ceiling.

0:19:18 > 0:19:20- Just a drum lampshade, then.- Yeah.

0:19:21 > 0:19:23I feel there's a panic in the room.

0:19:24 > 0:19:28- Oh, yes, serious anxiety, isn't there?- Just hang on.

0:19:28 > 0:19:29The judges are right.

0:19:29 > 0:19:34With panic setting in, Sharon is having a crisis of confidence.

0:19:34 > 0:19:40I just feel a bit daunted by what I've set myself out to do.

0:19:41 > 0:19:49But I almost feel that, perhaps, I am blagging it.

0:19:49 > 0:19:51I'm not that capable, even though I think I am.

0:19:58 > 0:20:01Frankie is feeling far from daunted by his pared back design.

0:20:03 > 0:20:06His builder is turning the coffee table into two slide-out

0:20:06 > 0:20:08drinks tables for the alcoves.

0:20:08 > 0:20:12While he's creating elaborate runners for the seats

0:20:12 > 0:20:13from tapestry fabric.

0:20:13 > 0:20:16Fabric, you know, is my best friend now.

0:20:19 > 0:20:24This project, compared with my last project, is about 50% less,

0:20:24 > 0:20:29so that's why it allows me to do some of the small detail like this.

0:20:32 > 0:20:36In the first round, Frankie's fabric designs were highly detailed...

0:20:36 > 0:20:40So, you're tailoring a suit for the wardrobe? I buy into that.

0:20:40 > 0:20:43..which left him with too much work.

0:20:43 > 0:20:48I feel like I'm like a ship right in the middle of the stone.

0:20:48 > 0:20:52That's why I'm struggling with the whole thing.

0:20:54 > 0:20:58Something went dreadfully wrong with these doors.

0:20:58 > 0:21:00He's not been able to get the finish he wanted.

0:21:01 > 0:21:05I think it's fair to say, you've already reined in the ambition

0:21:05 > 0:21:07- of your project.- I have.

0:21:07 > 0:21:09But, stylistically, what is going to lift the mood?

0:21:09 > 0:21:12Is there going to be any Frankie in this room?

0:21:12 > 0:21:14Erm, it's going to be a little bit tricky.

0:21:14 > 0:21:19This is a Grade II-listed house and, my home owner, they asked

0:21:19 > 0:21:21to sympathise for the building.

0:21:21 > 0:21:25So, you are restraining your creativity, in order to

0:21:25 > 0:21:29- fulfil their brief?- I feel, yes, I have a little bit, yeah.

0:21:30 > 0:21:34I think this scheme is boring. I want to see some Frankie flare.

0:21:39 > 0:21:42The designers will all have to prove they have creative flair

0:21:42 > 0:21:45when it comes to thinking under pressure.

0:21:45 > 0:21:48They're in for a big surprise, as they are being given

0:21:48 > 0:21:52a raw material to test their ingenuity and use in their scheme.

0:21:52 > 0:21:54- Holly.- Hi.

0:21:54 > 0:21:56You'll never guess what I've got behind my back.

0:21:56 > 0:21:59- I'm hoping it's a light fitting. - No, it's not a light fitting.

0:21:59 > 0:22:01Logs.

0:22:01 > 0:22:02Be really creative with these.

0:22:02 > 0:22:05- You know, come up with some innovative product design.- OK.

0:22:05 > 0:22:08We've got fire burner.

0:22:08 > 0:22:12Not very creative, because I'm expecting

0:22:12 > 0:22:14- a high level of creativity.- OK.

0:22:14 > 0:22:15Right.

0:22:15 > 0:22:19They need to use the logs to design and create an inspired

0:22:19 > 0:22:21- new product in 24 hours.- Thank you.

0:22:21 > 0:22:24How well they do will feed into the judges' decision

0:22:24 > 0:22:26and could have a huge impact on the results.

0:22:28 > 0:22:31I was thinking, you know, slice them, lots of them

0:22:31 > 0:22:34and then turn them into dust and you just...

0:22:38 > 0:22:40Awesome. Deal with that later.

0:22:40 > 0:22:43The judges will see their designs later on.

0:22:45 > 0:22:47Holly has got a lot of catching up to do,

0:22:47 > 0:22:50but she can finally get cracking with her design...

0:22:50 > 0:22:52Are you sure about all this?

0:22:52 > 0:22:55..as she's persuaded her homeowners to go with a strong colour.

0:22:55 > 0:22:58So, the plan now is going to be to paint

0:22:58 > 0:23:02all of the walls in a nice dark navy, which is good.

0:23:02 > 0:23:06I've still got the navy colour. Now, what I would like to do

0:23:06 > 0:23:11is get this on the walls as quickly as humanly possible.

0:23:11 > 0:23:15Because, otherwise, they're going to change their mind, probably.

0:23:20 > 0:23:22I love it, I love it, I love it.

0:23:27 > 0:23:29It's been a tiring first day.

0:23:29 > 0:23:31I just lost my bottle a bit, which I shouldn't have done,

0:23:31 > 0:23:34so onwards and upwards for tomorrow.

0:23:34 > 0:23:36The designers are desperate to prove they've got

0:23:36 > 0:23:37the edge on their rivals.

0:23:37 > 0:23:41That is exactly how I pictured that in my mind.

0:23:41 > 0:23:44And they've already started to assess the competition.

0:23:44 > 0:23:48- Oh, I love that wall panelling. - Oh, no, isn't it to die for?

0:23:48 > 0:23:50- That is gorgeous. - What do you reckon?

0:23:52 > 0:23:55I want a fireplace. Not fair.

0:23:55 > 0:23:57I'm not prepared to do a room that's going to

0:23:57 > 0:24:00compromise my integrity as a designer.

0:24:00 > 0:24:05I kind of envy her. You know. She just goes ahead with her design.

0:24:05 > 0:24:08I like both of them, but I don't want them to do better than me.

0:24:10 > 0:24:12I had a bit of a sneak peek of Frankie's.

0:24:13 > 0:24:18He's incredibly talented, but it doesn't look daring, yet.

0:24:18 > 0:24:20So, that gives me a bit of hope.

0:24:33 > 0:24:36It's the second day of the competition here in Kent

0:24:36 > 0:24:40and, after a day of sewing and dogs and lime-green paint,

0:24:40 > 0:24:42our designers have an awful lot to achieve.

0:24:44 > 0:24:48By the end of tomorrow, one of them will be out of the competition.

0:24:48 > 0:24:50I had quite a sleepless night.

0:24:50 > 0:24:53I'm still worried about the light fittings, but I've ordered

0:24:53 > 0:24:57half of Hastings' light collection now, so, surely, amongst all that,

0:24:57 > 0:25:00there'll be something that will go in there and look all right.

0:25:00 > 0:25:03The competition seems pretty good on my side.

0:25:03 > 0:25:08- Last night, I prepare all the fabrics to be cut out.- Hiya.

0:25:08 > 0:25:12I'm anticipating the homeowners will probably have different things

0:25:12 > 0:25:15to say about some of the things I have planned today,

0:25:15 > 0:25:16but we'll see how it goes.

0:25:16 > 0:25:20They might end up chasing me out of this village with torches

0:25:20 > 0:25:23and pitchforks, but, if they do, I'm a fast runner.

0:25:26 > 0:25:29Ah, lovely job. Thanks.

0:25:29 > 0:25:32Frankie is playing it safe to please his clients,

0:25:32 > 0:25:36but he still hopes to make magic with his Renaissance garden scheme.

0:25:36 > 0:25:40This comes out of my quick idea, what I could achieve.

0:25:40 > 0:25:43With creations like this seat girdle.

0:25:43 > 0:25:46Hopefully, judge will say it's original.

0:25:46 > 0:25:49Frankie, you've got your scissors in your hands,

0:25:49 > 0:25:51your tape measure and I know you've got a very,

0:25:51 > 0:25:54kind of, ambitious design flair. I can see that,

0:25:54 > 0:25:58- but do you like having that reined in?- Erm...- Or is it a pain?

0:25:58 > 0:26:00THEY LAUGH

0:26:00 > 0:26:03- You want to be let loose?!- I'm not a person that has to play the

0:26:03 > 0:26:07razzle-dazzle, you know, but the frustration, yes, it is there.

0:26:07 > 0:26:13Hopefully, you know, if I go through this round, perhaps next one...

0:26:13 > 0:26:15- We'll see the real Frankie? - Hopefully.

0:26:18 > 0:26:21Holly is refusing to hold back her creative flair.

0:26:21 > 0:26:25I want to make a table, so, we'll probably do

0:26:25 > 0:26:29- something like that or whatever works best with the glass.- Yeah.

0:26:31 > 0:26:35With her builder working on the book table, Holly starts injecting

0:26:35 > 0:26:38sophistication to her scheme with her cushions.

0:26:38 > 0:26:40This is how you can tell this is beautifully quality tweed,

0:26:40 > 0:26:43because, as you rip it, it just tears.

0:26:43 > 0:26:46And she's mixing in a bit of copper bling.

0:26:47 > 0:26:50They're actually skirts that were in the sale and that was, like, £1.

0:26:53 > 0:26:56- Colour on the walls.- Colour on the walls.- Looking dramatic, isn't it?

0:26:56 > 0:26:57Yes, it is.

0:26:57 > 0:27:00How about your homeowner? Are you keeping them on board?

0:27:00 > 0:27:01I am keeping them on board, yeah.

0:27:01 > 0:27:04I think everybody seems to think that I'm going to transform this

0:27:04 > 0:27:07into some kind of tacky, sort of, medieval castle.

0:27:07 > 0:27:09No, we really stand by your conviction

0:27:09 > 0:27:12and it's very admirable that you are really confident in your ability,

0:27:12 > 0:27:15but when you're working for other people, it's not about

0:27:15 > 0:27:18- what you think and there is concern...- I appreciate that.

0:27:18 > 0:27:20..that what you presented to your homeowners

0:27:20 > 0:27:21wasn't what they were expecting.

0:27:21 > 0:27:25Yeah. But, sage green, duck egg blue in a country cottage, you know,

0:27:25 > 0:27:28we're here to push the boundaries a little bit more as designers.

0:27:28 > 0:27:30We're also here to keep your home owners on board

0:27:30 > 0:27:32and do a lovely job of their home.

0:27:32 > 0:27:34- Absolutely.- To remind you.- Yeah.

0:27:34 > 0:27:37Holly has taken a complete chance with that scheme and I don't think

0:27:37 > 0:27:42she's right to criticise their taste but, look, they like this dark blue,

0:27:42 > 0:27:45it's working, so she now needs to work hard to keep them on board.

0:27:48 > 0:27:50Being less decisive is Sharon,

0:27:50 > 0:27:53who is waiting for delivery on various lighting options.

0:27:53 > 0:27:55As her team finishes the ottoman,

0:27:55 > 0:27:58she's adding blue accents to her vibrant scheme.

0:27:58 > 0:28:01I'm just thinking about the blind, because, obviously,

0:28:01 > 0:28:03I'd like to do something with it.

0:28:03 > 0:28:07So, she tries a cheap, quick fix solution.

0:28:07 > 0:28:09That'll work. Oh!

0:28:09 > 0:28:12That's not right.

0:28:12 > 0:28:15That's coming out in little blobs.

0:28:15 > 0:28:17Erm...

0:28:18 > 0:28:21Plan B is to use some blue fabric instead.

0:28:21 > 0:28:27I'm just going to make a trim and attach it to the existing blind.

0:28:33 > 0:28:35The designers aren't just under pressure to

0:28:35 > 0:28:39transform their rooms, they've also got to something their design

0:28:39 > 0:28:43credentials, by integrating some logs creatively into their schemes.

0:28:43 > 0:28:47I hate the secret task. I hate it.

0:28:47 > 0:28:50How well they rise to this challenge will affect who stays

0:28:50 > 0:28:52and who leaves the competition.

0:28:52 > 0:28:55Well, the last upcycle was the judges ended up liking what

0:28:55 > 0:28:59I did with it, so, hopefully, I can do the same again here.

0:28:59 > 0:29:02I'm going to show 'em.

0:29:02 > 0:29:05- I'm thinking to make a tea light holder.- Yeah, gotcha.

0:29:05 > 0:29:07Frankie is using the bark

0:29:07 > 0:29:09as a decorative feature around a glass vase.

0:29:09 > 0:29:12And then, tie them and then you chop, chop, chop, chop.

0:29:13 > 0:29:15OK.

0:29:15 > 0:29:19Classic Frankie. We've got something beautifully executed.

0:29:22 > 0:29:25- Genius.- And he can't resist adding some fabric.

0:29:25 > 0:29:29But it's Frankie all over. It's a little bit fussy and twee.

0:29:29 > 0:29:31True to form, Sharon is hitting the shops

0:29:31 > 0:29:34to try and integrate the logs into her scheme.

0:29:34 > 0:29:36I've decided that the one thing that I'm missing out of the room

0:29:36 > 0:29:42was a table, so I might as well use the challenge to my advantage.

0:29:45 > 0:29:49- Yes, how much do you want for that? - I can do 15 on that.

0:29:49 > 0:29:50Yeah, go on, then.

0:29:50 > 0:29:52I'm actually going to cover it

0:29:52 > 0:29:56in discs of the logs that they've given me.

0:29:56 > 0:29:58It's shockingly bad, isn't it?

0:29:58 > 0:30:02She's taken a Victorian table and made it completely useless.

0:30:02 > 0:30:05There we are. What a triumph.

0:30:05 > 0:30:08Have you seen the quality? It's not great.

0:30:08 > 0:30:10I'd like to cut that into three.

0:30:10 > 0:30:12Holly is hedging her bets...

0:30:12 > 0:30:17And then drill a tealight-sized hole halfway down.

0:30:17 > 0:30:21- ..by doing a tealight holder and decorative mobile.- That's better.

0:30:21 > 0:30:24With the upcycle, I like to include it in a few different places,

0:30:24 > 0:30:26because, otherwise, I think it looks a bit plonked.

0:30:26 > 0:30:30I quite like the candle holders. Not the most original idea.

0:30:30 > 0:30:32But what was she thinking with that mobile?

0:30:32 > 0:30:34It's just dreadful.

0:30:35 > 0:30:37The designer's mixed bag of items

0:30:37 > 0:30:40has received an equally mixed reaction.

0:30:40 > 0:30:43The big question is, how they'll fit with the finished rooms.

0:30:43 > 0:30:46The judges will have to wait to see the end result.

0:30:52 > 0:30:54400 years ago, easy-to-source wood

0:30:54 > 0:30:57was a cheap way of protecting these houses.

0:30:57 > 0:30:59But later, it became a fashion statement,

0:30:59 > 0:31:02like this 19th-century villa.

0:31:02 > 0:31:04Whilst from the front, it blends in very easily

0:31:04 > 0:31:07with its weatherboarded neighbours.

0:31:07 > 0:31:08Go through the house...

0:31:10 > 0:31:12..and round the back, it's all bricks and tiles.

0:31:12 > 0:31:14Much more Victorian.

0:31:15 > 0:31:20It's not just local woodland that's provided timber for the houses.

0:31:20 > 0:31:22Centuries ago, the sea came much further inland.

0:31:22 > 0:31:25There was even a port and a shipyard close by,

0:31:25 > 0:31:29but when the estuary silted up, the locals dismantled the shipyard

0:31:29 > 0:31:32and used the timber to build their homes.

0:31:32 > 0:31:34The great girders of ship's hulls were terribly

0:31:34 > 0:31:37useful for ceiling beams like these.

0:31:43 > 0:31:47Frankie is hoping his builder is also a dab hand with wood.

0:31:47 > 0:31:51He's narrowed the coffee table to fit into the alcove.

0:31:51 > 0:31:53You should be a plastic surgeon.

0:31:56 > 0:32:00Frankie wants every element of his garden Renaissance scheme to

0:32:00 > 0:32:02meet his exacting standards.

0:32:02 > 0:32:05It's all coming together now.

0:32:05 > 0:32:07Pretty wallpapers, lovely pale greens,

0:32:07 > 0:32:12terracotta tapestry to match the inglenook. Lovely.

0:32:12 > 0:32:15All lovely, but it's so safe.

0:32:15 > 0:32:19Frankie's safe strategy is to stick closely to his brief,

0:32:19 > 0:32:22unlike his rival, Holly.

0:32:22 > 0:32:24- Perfect.- Hello, Holly.

0:32:24 > 0:32:27- How are you getting on, darling? - Looks pretty cool, hey.- Yeah?

0:32:27 > 0:32:30- It's very stylish.- Thank you.

0:32:30 > 0:32:32But her risk-taking isn't flustering Frankie.

0:32:32 > 0:32:37Well, let's put it this way, if you go to a restaurant, you ask for

0:32:37 > 0:32:42chicken and they bring you beef, as a customer, you'll be fuming.

0:32:42 > 0:32:45You're being too daring for Rolvenden?

0:32:45 > 0:32:48I think, obviously, my daring isn't everybody else's daring.

0:32:48 > 0:32:50How are you coping? Are you rolling with the punches?

0:32:50 > 0:32:53I am rolling with the punches. It's been challenging, I won't lie.

0:32:53 > 0:32:56Are you feeling like a professional interior designer, yet?

0:32:56 > 0:32:59Could you be let loose onto unsuspecting public?

0:32:59 > 0:33:01I don't think if the unsuspecting public will have me,

0:33:01 > 0:33:03to be entirely honest.

0:33:04 > 0:33:08There's a storm brewing for all three designers...

0:33:08 > 0:33:11Ironically, this was my mood yesterday.

0:33:11 > 0:33:13..because at this midway mark, they must all face

0:33:13 > 0:33:16a visit from their homeowner to check-up on progress.

0:33:16 > 0:33:19This is actually what I find the scariest bit, you know,

0:33:19 > 0:33:21they might say that they don't like any of it.

0:33:21 > 0:33:25It's an anxious moment as any unsuspected changes at this stage

0:33:25 > 0:33:27could seriously impact their designs.

0:33:27 > 0:33:29I hope they're going to appreciate this.

0:33:31 > 0:33:34- It looks lovely. - Do you like it?- Yeah.

0:33:34 > 0:33:36Oh, yes, very blue.

0:33:36 > 0:33:39After tense negotiations with her homeowners over

0:33:39 > 0:33:42- the colour on the walls... - These are the copper Edison bulbs.

0:33:42 > 0:33:46..Holly has now got to reveal her more industrial touches.

0:33:46 > 0:33:48Aha, yeah.

0:33:48 > 0:33:51Having seen it today, I feel a lot more confident with what

0:33:51 > 0:33:55Holly is doing and the colour is definitely growing on me,

0:33:55 > 0:33:59- and she seems like she's got some good ideas.- See you later.

0:33:59 > 0:34:02- Great, see you later. - She could be turning things around.

0:34:05 > 0:34:07Yay!

0:34:07 > 0:34:08Hi.

0:34:08 > 0:34:11Sharon's homeowners liked the bold colour, in theory,

0:34:11 > 0:34:14but will now see it on their walls for the first time.

0:34:14 > 0:34:16It is very green.

0:34:17 > 0:34:20Is that a good green or a bad green?

0:34:21 > 0:34:24At the moment, it's just a very green.

0:34:24 > 0:34:27Sharon is hoping her lighting idea will convince them

0:34:27 > 0:34:29she can make the scheme come alive.

0:34:30 > 0:34:32I like the shape of that lampshade,

0:34:32 > 0:34:35but I just don't think by the time you get that on the ceiling...

0:34:35 > 0:34:38- I think that will be too low. - I'm safe.

0:34:40 > 0:34:44Luckily, after her shopping spree, she's got backups.

0:34:44 > 0:34:48What you are saying is, instead of having them down, have it like that?

0:34:48 > 0:34:49Yes.

0:34:49 > 0:34:51But they don't quite hit the spot either.

0:34:51 > 0:34:55- It's the height that is...that I think you need to watch.- Yeah.

0:34:59 > 0:35:02If Sharon doesn't get the lighting right, it's going

0:35:02 > 0:35:05to look like algae in a pond. Dark and slimy.

0:35:05 > 0:35:08I just don't know what else I can possibly do.

0:35:08 > 0:35:12I just... I've tried absolutely everything now.

0:35:12 > 0:35:14I have had just about enough of lights.

0:35:16 > 0:35:21Spurred on by success with her homeowners, Holly is getting crafty.

0:35:21 > 0:35:23Oh, that looks lovely.

0:35:23 > 0:35:24The book side table is nearly done

0:35:24 > 0:35:27and she's trying her hand at some weaving.

0:35:27 > 0:35:32So, this is going to be my leather belt stool.

0:35:35 > 0:35:37Haven't done this before.

0:35:37 > 0:35:40The stool was 50p, so, see what happens.

0:35:48 > 0:35:51There we go. I'm going to sit on it now.

0:35:52 > 0:35:55Yay!

0:35:57 > 0:35:59Frankie is also getting inventive.

0:35:59 > 0:36:03- As well as the slide out drinks table...- There we go.

0:36:03 > 0:36:05..he's making home-made antique effect mirrors

0:36:05 > 0:36:07for the alcove cabinets.

0:36:07 > 0:36:11This is very risky. I haven't done this before.

0:36:11 > 0:36:15He covers plain glass with a water and vinegar solution,

0:36:15 > 0:36:19then sprays a silver effect paint on top and, once dry,

0:36:19 > 0:36:23finishes it with black spray paint, which should give a distressed look.

0:36:27 > 0:36:30Right, yeah, I'm very happy with the result.

0:36:32 > 0:36:36What I'm really hoping for is that you are a magician electrician.

0:36:36 > 0:36:39- I am very good. - Right, that's what I want to hear.

0:36:39 > 0:36:43Sharon is hoping she's onto a winner with her latest purchase of lights.

0:36:43 > 0:36:44I've got these.

0:36:46 > 0:36:47The new lights may be small,

0:36:47 > 0:36:51but they must have a big impact to keep the bold colour scheme vibrant.

0:36:53 > 0:36:56If this isn't right, then, it's all been for nothing.

0:36:58 > 0:37:00I won't be going through to the next round.

0:37:11 > 0:37:14Yes! Yes, they're really bright.

0:37:14 > 0:37:19The future is bright. The future is lime-green.

0:37:19 > 0:37:22Honestly, I can't tell you how relieved I am.

0:37:22 > 0:37:24It's like a whole weight has been lifted off me.

0:37:24 > 0:37:29- It's a really bold colour in there. Really bold.- Just take a risk.

0:37:29 > 0:37:32I always think, what's the worst that can happen?

0:37:32 > 0:37:38- Do you believe in yourself?- That's a good one. Erm, not all the time.

0:37:38 > 0:37:41I was poor, I have to say.

0:37:41 > 0:37:44I didn't think about the lighting as much as I should have done.

0:37:48 > 0:37:51There are challenges for all our designers to overcome

0:37:51 > 0:37:53in these ancient houses...

0:37:53 > 0:37:55What on earth is up with this?

0:37:55 > 0:37:59..with their lopsided charm and mix of architectural styles.

0:38:01 > 0:38:03This is the oldest house in the village,

0:38:03 > 0:38:06built in the 15th century for a local yeoman farmer.

0:38:06 > 0:38:09Inside, it's incredibly atmospheric,

0:38:09 > 0:38:13with its low ceilings and dark beams, but over the years,

0:38:13 > 0:38:16it's been altered as the fashions have changed.

0:38:16 > 0:38:19In the Georgian period, a slightly incongruous extension

0:38:19 > 0:38:23was added at one end, but at least it's got incredible space and light.

0:38:25 > 0:38:28As I climb up these rather steep and rickety wooden stairs,

0:38:28 > 0:38:32the original form of the house becomes much clearer.

0:38:32 > 0:38:36Up above me, smoke-stained rafters indicate the open fire,

0:38:36 > 0:38:40that, in medieval times, would have burnt in the central hall.

0:38:44 > 0:38:46It's near the end of day two

0:38:46 > 0:38:49and confidence levels are high for two of the designers.

0:38:49 > 0:38:52Very happy, because we've got lots of things done today.

0:38:53 > 0:38:59Right, that's me done for today. There's nothing more I can do.

0:38:59 > 0:39:01And I might get some sleep tonight now.

0:39:02 > 0:39:04But Holly is getting frustrated.

0:39:05 > 0:39:09She had planned to hang large light bulbs from the beams

0:39:09 > 0:39:10using adhesive hooks.

0:39:11 > 0:39:12Right.

0:39:14 > 0:39:17But her team don't think they're strong enough.

0:39:20 > 0:39:22We've got a bit of a situation at the moment.

0:39:22 > 0:39:27Holly walked off, because she can't fit the lights where she wants.

0:39:28 > 0:39:32There's been kind of quite a lot of different hold-ups on this brief

0:39:32 > 0:39:37that have been, erm, you know, challenging,

0:39:37 > 0:39:39but, hey, you know what?

0:39:39 > 0:39:41We're not done yet, so I'm going to cross that finish line.

0:39:49 > 0:39:52It's the last day of this round and, from antique mirrors to

0:39:52 > 0:39:55handcrafted leather, our three designers have really pushed

0:39:55 > 0:39:58themselves to the limit, but, for one of them, it won't be enough.

0:39:58 > 0:40:00They'll be going home.

0:40:00 > 0:40:01There's just a few hours left for them

0:40:01 > 0:40:05to convince the judges they deserve to stay in the competition.

0:40:05 > 0:40:09At this second round stage, they face even tougher scrutiny.

0:40:10 > 0:40:12I'm feeling a little bit nervous.

0:40:12 > 0:40:16Hopefully, no last-minute drama happen.

0:40:16 > 0:40:20The tension does start to get to you, but I have absolutely no doubts

0:40:20 > 0:40:21that it's going to look amazing.

0:40:21 > 0:40:24I fought for what I believe is a really excellent design and,

0:40:24 > 0:40:28hopefully, that will pay dividends and give me the edge...

0:40:29 > 0:40:30..or not.

0:40:34 > 0:40:38The last big jobs for Frankie are fitting the slide-out drinks tables

0:40:38 > 0:40:40and the fragile antique effect mirrors.

0:40:42 > 0:40:44I'm a bit nervous.

0:40:45 > 0:40:47But he's soon in trouble.

0:40:47 > 0:40:51Put the wrong one in. And now I can't take it out.

0:40:52 > 0:40:55- Are you all right? - I'm so, so scared to break it.

0:40:59 > 0:41:02That's what I meant, a last-minute drama.

0:41:02 > 0:41:05Now, last time, Frankie tried to achieve so much.

0:41:05 > 0:41:06How's he getting along this time?

0:41:06 > 0:41:09Well, he's been a lot more controlled this time.

0:41:09 > 0:41:10He's pared back the amount he's doing.

0:41:10 > 0:41:13My concern is he's in danger of being not ambitious enough.

0:41:13 > 0:41:15I was hoping Frankie would add a little bit more flair

0:41:15 > 0:41:19and imagination to that scheme. All in the reveal with that one.

0:41:19 > 0:41:22Sharon is having a more relaxed morning.

0:41:22 > 0:41:24- There you go.- That's fab.

0:41:24 > 0:41:26This is how the job should be, isn't it?

0:41:26 > 0:41:31I can just dolly around and it'll all look really lovely.

0:41:31 > 0:41:33She's spent two thirds of her budget

0:41:33 > 0:41:36on shop-bought accessories and furniture.

0:41:36 > 0:41:39So, today, her main task is to dress the room.

0:41:42 > 0:41:45My husband's nightmare, a selection of cushions.

0:41:45 > 0:41:48Sharon, she's really pumping up the colour, once again.

0:41:48 > 0:41:50- Doesn't she just. - And how is she getting along?

0:41:50 > 0:41:52She seems like she's got it under control now.

0:41:52 > 0:41:55She has been really stressed. We've had tears.

0:41:55 > 0:41:58I think the whole pressure of trying to inject some light

0:41:58 > 0:42:01into this really gloomy room has really floored her.

0:42:02 > 0:42:06Holly has a way to go before her playful sophisticated scheme

0:42:06 > 0:42:09- is complete.- I'm starting to be a little bit concerned about time.

0:42:09 > 0:42:12She's refusing to give up on her plan to hang

0:42:12 > 0:42:14bulbs from adhesive hooks.

0:42:14 > 0:42:16So, we're just going to weigh that.

0:42:16 > 0:42:18We're actually well within limits,

0:42:18 > 0:42:21so we can actually hang six of those from one hook.

0:42:23 > 0:42:25Eureka. There we go.

0:42:25 > 0:42:28- Is Holly's room looking good? - It's beginning to get there.

0:42:28 > 0:42:31But when it comes to certain elements of her design,

0:42:31 > 0:42:34like the lighting, she clearly hasn't thought it through, has she?

0:42:34 > 0:42:38Exactly, and at this late stage, you can't be experimenting.

0:42:38 > 0:42:41Holly is testing out the hooks to make sure they're safe.

0:42:41 > 0:42:44That looks literally incredible. I am so pleased.

0:42:44 > 0:42:47GLASS SMASHES

0:42:47 > 0:42:48Whoa!

0:42:52 > 0:42:55- What happened there? - The sticker came down.

0:42:55 > 0:42:58- That is definitely game over. That is game over.- Get them unhooked.

0:42:58 > 0:43:00- Get them down.- Yeah.

0:43:00 > 0:43:03Working within the constraints of a listed building has been

0:43:03 > 0:43:04a steep learning curve.

0:43:04 > 0:43:07There's always disasters at the end, isn't there?

0:43:07 > 0:43:12The designers have had three days and £1,000 each to transform a room.

0:43:12 > 0:43:16Stressed out, stressed out, stressed out! Ah!

0:43:16 > 0:43:19They'd been tested on their client briefing skills

0:43:19 > 0:43:22and had to rely on their wit to create a new unique product,

0:43:22 > 0:43:25which will be judged in their finished room.

0:43:25 > 0:43:28Gosh, that makes it look completely different.

0:43:28 > 0:43:30Now, the deadline is fast approaching.

0:43:30 > 0:43:32OK, all of that can now go.

0:43:34 > 0:43:36- There?- Yeah. - But Sharon is keeping her cool.

0:43:36 > 0:43:40Despite her homeowner's earlier concerns over colour and lighting...

0:43:40 > 0:43:41That's a bit of a triumph.

0:43:41 > 0:43:44..she hopes her finished room will quash all doubts.

0:43:44 > 0:43:46- That's us done.- Perfect.

0:43:46 > 0:43:51I couldn't be happier with what I've achieved. I love it.

0:43:51 > 0:43:52I could live here.

0:43:58 > 0:44:03As far as being worried about anything, I'm not.

0:44:03 > 0:44:05It's like I've got this hit of adrenaline

0:44:05 > 0:44:08and I could walk on blooming water now.

0:44:08 > 0:44:09Sharon's brief was to create

0:44:09 > 0:44:12a bright modern room that made an impact.

0:44:13 > 0:44:16Three days ago, it was dark and plainly decorated.

0:44:20 > 0:44:23Now, Sharon has transformed it with a lime green

0:44:23 > 0:44:26and peacock blue scheme, with monochrome soft furnishings.

0:44:28 > 0:44:30She's brought in new accessories

0:44:30 > 0:44:34and added light with glass pendants, lampshades and mirrors.

0:44:36 > 0:44:40She's tweaked the layout and added a new ottoman and velvet chair.

0:44:41 > 0:44:44I think I've fulfilled the brief down to the letter.

0:44:44 > 0:44:47If they say they don't like it, I'll eat this paintbrush.

0:44:52 > 0:44:54It feels so much happier, doesn't it?

0:44:54 > 0:44:57I particularly love Sharon's choice of colour in this room.

0:44:57 > 0:45:01We were very much going to judge the success of this bright,

0:45:01 > 0:45:04bold colour scheme on the basis that she'd managed to inject

0:45:04 > 0:45:05enough lighting in here.

0:45:05 > 0:45:08And I think she's done that by having lots of different

0:45:08 > 0:45:11sources of light. The only problem, for me,

0:45:11 > 0:45:13is I'm actually not very keen on the fittings.

0:45:13 > 0:45:15They are a bit plasticky, those flex's, aren't they?

0:45:15 > 0:45:17Yeah, they look a bit cheap.

0:45:17 > 0:45:20However, you know what she has done which is rather clever?

0:45:20 > 0:45:23- The layout is working really well. - Yeah.

0:45:23 > 0:45:26I love the clashing fabrics that she's got going together.

0:45:26 > 0:45:29They're really bright and jolly and give this room some vibrancy,

0:45:29 > 0:45:31all the chevrons and geometrics.

0:45:31 > 0:45:34She's found the perfect chair for this colour scheme as well.

0:45:34 > 0:45:36It's that perfect peacock blue.

0:45:36 > 0:45:38But I'm not feeling that she's done much with it.

0:45:38 > 0:45:40These buttons could've been changed in colour

0:45:40 > 0:45:43and it would've made it look a little bit more fun

0:45:43 > 0:45:44and a bit more thoughtful.

0:45:44 > 0:45:47As well as judging their overall designs, a key factor for Sophie

0:45:47 > 0:45:51and Daniel is how well the upcycled logs fit into the scheme.

0:45:51 > 0:45:55- It looks like little hams on the table, doesn't it?- No!- Why?

0:45:55 > 0:45:57Why on earth...? Look at this. This is where you're going to sit

0:45:57 > 0:45:59and have your glass of wine in the evening.

0:45:59 > 0:46:03Not only does the table wobble, but the surface is uneven.

0:46:05 > 0:46:07The male homeowner, there's been elements that he's been very

0:46:07 > 0:46:11worried about, but I think, when he walks in there, I...

0:46:11 > 0:46:15I think he's going to be very pleasantly surprised.

0:46:15 > 0:46:18The client's reactions to the completed rooms will inform

0:46:18 > 0:46:21the judges' final decision. Here we are.

0:46:23 > 0:46:25It'd definitely got an impact.

0:46:25 > 0:46:28There's a lot of colour going on here.

0:46:28 > 0:46:32The greenness on the walls will take some getting used to.

0:46:32 > 0:46:34I do like the lights.

0:46:34 > 0:46:38Yeah, the lights are not a really bold statement in the room,

0:46:38 > 0:46:43so, yeah, overall, it works. I think.

0:46:44 > 0:46:47- Frankie's time is almost up. - We can do it, we can do it!

0:46:48 > 0:46:50He defied the judges earlier,

0:46:50 > 0:46:53delivering a simple scheme not stretching his homeowners,

0:46:53 > 0:46:58but with a pared back design, every detail has to be perfect.

0:46:58 > 0:47:00Come on, birdie, love me. Love me, please.

0:47:04 > 0:47:06Done.

0:47:08 > 0:47:12Yay! Finished! I'm feeling fantastic.

0:47:12 > 0:47:14Get out the spirit of ecstasy.

0:47:14 > 0:47:18Frankie's brief was to create an elegant formal reception room

0:47:18 > 0:47:21using classic Georgian colours.

0:47:22 > 0:47:26Three days ago, it was simple, if a little underwhelming.

0:47:29 > 0:47:31Now, it's a smarter, richer room.

0:47:33 > 0:47:36His green colour scheme and trellis wallpaper create

0:47:36 > 0:47:39the garden Renaissance feel he envisaged.

0:47:39 > 0:47:42He's created slide-out tables in the alcove cabinets

0:47:42 > 0:47:44with an antique mirror backdrop.

0:47:45 > 0:47:48And tapestry fabric covers the revamped ottoman,

0:47:48 > 0:47:51armchairs and sofa, all with an intricate finish.

0:47:52 > 0:47:55I put a little bit of myself in that room, which is

0:47:55 > 0:47:59the attention to detail and that is very me,

0:47:59 > 0:48:03so, let's see if judge will actually pick that up, or not.

0:48:07 > 0:48:11- Oh!- How fancy.- Yeah, it's really come together, hasn't it?

0:48:11 > 0:48:13I was really concerned about all these fabrics working

0:48:13 > 0:48:18- together OK, because there's one too many patterns.- Concerned?

0:48:18 > 0:48:21- You hated this fabric.- Yeah, I really didn't like this fabric.

0:48:21 > 0:48:25This is the 21st-century and that's just old-fashioned and frumpy.

0:48:25 > 0:48:28It is nice to see how he's brought all the homeowner's bits and bobs

0:48:28 > 0:48:30together and I particularly love this display.

0:48:30 > 0:48:34That is really coherent, nicely grouped, pair of lamps.

0:48:34 > 0:48:36I think that's always a clever idea

0:48:36 > 0:48:39and creates a strong feature opposite the fireplace.

0:48:39 > 0:48:43I have to say, also, I love the three pictures over the fireplace.

0:48:43 > 0:48:44Yeah, I know, it looks good.

0:48:44 > 0:48:47The mirrored frames also links in with the mirrored panelling.

0:48:47 > 0:48:50And he's done this himself, he's aged it down, which is,

0:48:50 > 0:48:52- actually, really impressive. - Now, that is a good update.

0:48:52 > 0:48:55I don't think Frankie, though, has quite grasped the idea

0:48:55 > 0:48:56about furniture design.

0:48:56 > 0:49:00He's used bits of balustrade as the legs, but they look so spindly.

0:49:00 > 0:49:03It reminds you of a rugby player trying to do ballet.

0:49:03 > 0:49:05That isn't great design.

0:49:05 > 0:49:07Does Frankie's upcycled candleholder

0:49:07 > 0:49:11tie in with his understated scheme? It's the moment of truth.

0:49:12 > 0:49:13I think that's got to go.

0:49:13 > 0:49:16There's no surprise, it would be absolutely fine

0:49:16 > 0:49:19if it didn't have that awful fabric wrapped round it.

0:49:19 > 0:49:22I would like to have seen a bit more Frankie flare in here.

0:49:22 > 0:49:25I think, by choosing one fabric and matching it everywhere,

0:49:25 > 0:49:27shows a real lack of creativity.

0:49:27 > 0:49:31But I think these clients are going to absolutely love this.

0:49:31 > 0:49:33It really matches what they wanted.

0:49:35 > 0:49:40I have delivered what my homeowners asked for and, if they love it,

0:49:40 > 0:49:43then I will feel like, great, I've done it.

0:49:49 > 0:49:52- It's very, very nice. - It's beautiful.

0:49:52 > 0:49:53There is a lot of, with the pictures,

0:49:53 > 0:49:55a lot of pattern going on here now.

0:49:55 > 0:49:57I think what he's done is brilliant.

0:49:57 > 0:49:59It's all colour matched, which I think is beautiful.

0:49:59 > 0:50:03- He's done a lovely job.- Do you feel like Frankie has understood?- Yeah.

0:50:03 > 0:50:07He's done a... He's spot on.

0:50:07 > 0:50:09With Holly's lighting plan in pieces,

0:50:09 > 0:50:13she can now only use the Edison bulbs in the existing fittings.

0:50:13 > 0:50:17At this stage of this game, you know, I'll take what I can get.

0:50:17 > 0:50:21After a bumpy ride with her clients earlier on, Holly must

0:50:21 > 0:50:25turn things around to prove she can deliver a room they'll love.

0:50:25 > 0:50:26- OK, right.- Just get on with it.

0:50:26 > 0:50:29I've just got to do this and that's that. I'm done.

0:50:29 > 0:50:31Little reminder of all we've been through.

0:50:33 > 0:50:35Happy. Done.

0:50:37 > 0:50:42Hooray! Sorry for being such an unbearable...

0:50:42 > 0:50:46I did manage to get a little bit of wallpaper in,

0:50:46 > 0:50:51just as a little bit of a memento of the journey that we've been on.

0:50:51 > 0:50:55Holly's brief was for sophistication with a touch of daring.

0:50:56 > 0:50:59Three days ago, the room was plain and old-fashioned.

0:51:04 > 0:51:06Now, it's been brought more up-to-date.

0:51:09 > 0:51:12The navy walls give a modern feel against the mix of tweed

0:51:12 > 0:51:15and copper tone soft furnishings.

0:51:15 > 0:51:19Holly's used industrial style Edison bulbs and created original

0:51:19 > 0:51:23designs with her leather belt stool and book side table.

0:51:23 > 0:51:27I am absolutely thrilled with how it looks.

0:51:27 > 0:51:31I would defy anybody to say that that room is not sophisticated.

0:51:36 > 0:51:40- This has come together. - Classic, sophisticated.

0:51:40 > 0:51:44This really deep blue, with these really old beams looks great.

0:51:44 > 0:51:47I would have actually liked to have seen a bit more of that

0:51:47 > 0:51:50orangey copper. You've got a little bit on the cushions.

0:51:50 > 0:51:52A couple of lights, but that's it.

0:51:52 > 0:51:56I rather like the idea of taking the lampshade off this base

0:51:56 > 0:51:59- and just having the big bulb. - Cos that looks modern, doesn't it?

0:51:59 > 0:52:02It's modern and it's fun, but then, she's almost bought too many,

0:52:02 > 0:52:05- because they're everywhere else. - Too many bare bulbs.

0:52:05 > 0:52:07But nice to have a little bit of humour in a room

0:52:07 > 0:52:09and they did ask for a touch of daring

0:52:09 > 0:52:11and I think some of her product design definitely ticks that box.

0:52:11 > 0:52:13I love the belt-style stool.

0:52:13 > 0:52:17We've got a cheeky little bookcase side table here.

0:52:17 > 0:52:21They're also really good quality and I think she's quite exacting.

0:52:21 > 0:52:24They can finally judge Holly's upcycled logs in situ.

0:52:24 > 0:52:26Will they be a hit or miss?

0:52:27 > 0:52:29Just looks really quite stylish.

0:52:29 > 0:52:33She can definitely invent. And then she should've stopped there,

0:52:33 > 0:52:34because I think that's a bit naff.

0:52:34 > 0:52:36I think we need to ignore that one, don't you?

0:52:36 > 0:52:39But what's surprising is we've ended up with rather

0:52:39 > 0:52:42a sophisticated interior, which is what the homeowners wanted.

0:52:42 > 0:52:44What do you think of classic and sophisticated?

0:52:44 > 0:52:46Spaniels are not the first thing that popped to mind,

0:52:46 > 0:52:50but she was determined to get them in this room.

0:52:50 > 0:52:52She's framed them.

0:52:52 > 0:52:56- I think it's just showing them that she is rather stubborn.- Yeah.

0:52:57 > 0:53:01I love that room. I think it's stunning and I think Martha

0:53:01 > 0:53:03and Joff, genuinely, will love it.

0:53:03 > 0:53:06Oh, wow! Look at that.

0:53:06 > 0:53:09- It's a transformation, isn't it? - It is indeed, it is indeed.

0:53:09 > 0:53:12I must admit, in the beginning, in a million years, I would

0:53:12 > 0:53:15never have chosen this colour, but, actually, I think it works.

0:53:15 > 0:53:17Do you think she's got the brief right?

0:53:17 > 0:53:19Because I know you had some difference of opinion.

0:53:19 > 0:53:21Yeah, we had strong opinions. She certainly did too

0:53:21 > 0:53:24and I think, you know, she's really done a great job to give us

0:53:24 > 0:53:26- a really great outcome. - Done really well.

0:53:26 > 0:53:28We'll always be able to remember the wallpaper,

0:53:28 > 0:53:32- because she's obviously left us a small momentum.- Oh, how funny.

0:53:32 > 0:53:35Oh, that's hilarious. Look at that!

0:53:38 > 0:53:41With all three rooms scrutinised, the designers can only wait

0:53:41 > 0:53:44to hear which one of them will be leaving the competition.

0:53:44 > 0:53:47If I go through, you know, that would make my dream come true

0:53:47 > 0:53:50and I would say I'd die with no regret.

0:53:50 > 0:53:54I am not naturally the world's most competitive person, but it would

0:53:54 > 0:53:58mean a huge load, because I kind of feel like I have a lot to prove.

0:53:59 > 0:54:03I'm really nervous. Yeah, I don't feel good.

0:54:09 > 0:54:14So, judges, these are incredibly old buildings, listed.

0:54:14 > 0:54:16Has that really constrained our designers this time?

0:54:16 > 0:54:19I think it's particularly been challenging for both

0:54:19 > 0:54:22Sharon and Holly. Frankie has really embraced it.

0:54:22 > 0:54:25He's clearly very sensitive to the period of the home,

0:54:25 > 0:54:29but I would say, to a fault, I found it disappointing and frumpy.

0:54:29 > 0:54:32Actually, I thought it was refreshingly old-fashioned

0:54:32 > 0:54:35- and I liked that.- Do you think he didn't push the homeowners enough?

0:54:35 > 0:54:37- He just responded to what they wanted?- Yeah, totally.

0:54:37 > 0:54:39I did like his ideas, though.

0:54:39 > 0:54:43I loved the way he put this mirror in the alcoves.

0:54:43 > 0:54:45The homeowners adored it.

0:54:45 > 0:54:48I underestimated the power of a tapestry cushion, clearly.

0:54:48 > 0:54:51Sharon was asked for something really fresh, with impact.

0:54:51 > 0:54:54- Has she delivered it? - Oh, absolutely.

0:54:54 > 0:54:57And she pulled it off, because she got the lighting right,

0:54:57 > 0:55:00but what lets it down is her choice of fittings.

0:55:00 > 0:55:02Do you think she was thrown into a panic?

0:55:02 > 0:55:05Yeah, I think she possibly did, Tom, actually.

0:55:05 > 0:55:07In fact, her whole scheme was a little shop-bought.

0:55:07 > 0:55:10Her cushions, the light fittings, the accessories, the mirrors.

0:55:10 > 0:55:15And, as a result, it looked a little naff in such an old property.

0:55:15 > 0:55:18Well, the home owner, he wasn't convinced with the colour.

0:55:18 > 0:55:20He said he could, potentially, be convinced.

0:55:20 > 0:55:23- He liked the lighting, though. - Well, there we go.

0:55:23 > 0:55:26Holly was asked for something sophisticated and original.

0:55:26 > 0:55:29But, actually, what Holly offered was a teddy bears picnic.

0:55:29 > 0:55:31I mean, it was so random.

0:55:31 > 0:55:33I think she was wholly thinking of herself

0:55:33 > 0:55:35and her own personal tastes, which is a major fail.

0:55:35 > 0:55:39But, luckily, what we've ended up with is a rather good interior.

0:55:39 > 0:55:42- And the homeowners love the blue. - Well, we didn't think

0:55:42 > 0:55:46- we were going to get that result three days ago, did we?- Oh, no.

0:55:46 > 0:55:49So, these rooms have tested our three designers to the limits.

0:55:49 > 0:55:51I think we've got a really tough choice,

0:55:51 > 0:55:53because I'd say all three of them

0:55:53 > 0:55:55are fairly, on balance, neck and neck.

0:56:04 > 0:56:08Working in such incredible protected historic properties would test

0:56:08 > 0:56:10the most professional designers,

0:56:10 > 0:56:13so you three, this time, have been pushed to the limit.

0:56:13 > 0:56:16I particularly loved the fact that we started off

0:56:16 > 0:56:20with three beige rooms and now we've got a riot of colour.

0:56:20 > 0:56:23Clearly didn't intimidate you three.

0:56:25 > 0:56:28These two have found it very difficult, I think,

0:56:28 > 0:56:30to make a decision. You're all very evenly matched.

0:56:30 > 0:56:34But they've decided the designer not going through is...

0:56:42 > 0:56:44..Sharon.

0:56:44 > 0:56:46Yeah.

0:56:48 > 0:56:49I knew.

0:56:50 > 0:56:53I didn't really want to go out this early.

0:56:53 > 0:56:54It's just very hard.

0:57:00 > 0:57:03It was an extremely close call today.

0:57:03 > 0:57:05But the reason why Sharon is the one who's going home

0:57:05 > 0:57:08is she relied too much on shop-bought items.

0:57:08 > 0:57:11Dare I ask?

0:57:11 > 0:57:14- I like it.- That's a relief.

0:57:14 > 0:57:17- I'm all right.- Well done.

0:57:17 > 0:57:21- You've done brilliantly. - Thank you. I don't believe it.

0:57:21 > 0:57:25I literally don't believe it. What a comeback. What a comeback!

0:57:25 > 0:57:28- Do one favour for me. - Is it take that picture home?

0:57:28 > 0:57:32- Can you sign it for me? - Yeah, definitely!

0:57:32 > 0:57:34Holly went through, despite her original presentation,

0:57:34 > 0:57:39because, in the end, she created a scheme with a lot of creativity

0:57:39 > 0:57:44in it, but moving on, she's got to follow the brief and keep it classy.

0:57:44 > 0:57:48- Hello.- Hello. You did a fantastic job, Frankie.- Thank you.

0:57:49 > 0:57:52Yes, I'm through. I was so shaky, then.

0:57:54 > 0:57:58Frankie went through, because it's clear that he can follow

0:57:58 > 0:58:01a brief and answer it, but, moving on, it's time for him

0:58:01 > 0:58:05to stop relying on those fabrics and show us his true creativity.

0:58:05 > 0:58:08The next round, I go wild, if possible.

0:58:13 > 0:58:16Next time, in a Scottish castle, Frankie...

0:58:16 > 0:58:18- Come on!- ..and Holly...

0:58:18 > 0:58:21This will actually look quite sophisticated when it's done.

0:58:21 > 0:58:24..transform a room each to prove they deserve

0:58:24 > 0:58:25to be a quarterfinalist.

0:58:25 > 0:58:27The designer going through is...
