0:00:02 > 0:00:03Welcome to To Buy Or Not To Buy.

0:00:03 > 0:00:08And today, we're in Beaconsfield, celebrating someone's 60th birthday.

0:00:08 > 0:00:11Oh, Ed, I'm so sorry, I haven't even got you a card!

0:00:11 > 0:00:13Not my birthday! What do you think I'm wearing the hat for?

0:00:13 > 0:00:15Noddy, Noddy's birthday.

0:00:15 > 0:00:19Ah, love the hat. And those big ears, great touch.

0:00:19 > 0:00:23I haven't got big ears. They're not big, are they, viewers?

0:00:32 > 0:00:35Do not adjust your sets, viewers, we have not swollen to

0:00:35 > 0:00:39gargantuan proportions, nor has the world shrivelled around us.

0:00:39 > 0:00:43Quite simply, we are in Beaconsfield in the world's oldest model village.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45- Lovely, isn't it? - It really is lovely.

0:00:45 > 0:00:49But it's in the life size surrounding area that today's house hunt will take place.

0:00:49 > 0:00:54And it was here, 60 years ago, that Enid Blyton was inspired to create Noddy and Toytown.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57Do you know what, being here has got my creative juices flowing,

0:00:57 > 0:01:00- and I've come up with the idea of a house building hero.- OK, then.

0:01:00 > 0:01:03He goes by the name of Hoddy.

0:01:03 > 0:01:07Hoddy the Builder, having lots of fun with his hod, his bricks and his tiles.

0:01:07 > 0:01:09Ed, what about Bob the Builder?

0:01:09 > 0:01:11Never going to work, Rani, it's not got an 'E' sound.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14Learn from Blyton, OK? You've got Noddy, brilliant.

0:01:14 > 0:01:19Hoddy, will be brilliant. And what about that, see that river, that's inspired me again.

0:01:19 > 0:01:22Roddy. Now that is a very distinct possibility.

0:01:22 > 0:01:27- Roddy, Roddy the fishermen. - Great idea(!)

0:01:27 > 0:01:31Today's house hunters are Narinder Chopra and his wife, who's, uh...

0:01:31 > 0:01:37- also called Narinder.- Fortunately for us, they've adopted the nicknames Nin and Nuz to avoid confusion.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40Five months ago, they had baby Millan.

0:01:40 > 0:01:45And returned to the UK after two years in Singapore, moving into rented accommodation...

0:01:45 > 0:01:47- Hey, girlies.- Hey, there.

0:01:47 > 0:01:50..near Nuz's family in High Wycombe.

0:01:50 > 0:01:53In fact, family is something neither of them are short of.

0:01:53 > 0:01:57This is Marla, Reg, my brother-in-law...

0:01:57 > 0:01:58FILM SPEEDS UP

0:01:58 > 0:02:01And then this is Parveen, my sister-in-law.

0:02:01 > 0:02:05By day, Nuz works as a scientist in Maidenhead...

0:02:06 > 0:02:08What's the matter?

0:02:08 > 0:02:13..while Nin's taking a busman's holiday from her childcare career to stay at home and look after Millan.

0:02:13 > 0:02:20Right then, time to discover exactly what they want from their very first family home.

0:02:20 > 0:02:23Now, Nin and Nuz, have you seen the programme before?

0:02:23 > 0:02:29- I have, plenty of times.- OK, now are you aware that you are giving us quite an important job here?

0:02:29 > 0:02:31- We're finding your first house. - You are.

0:02:31 > 0:02:33This is quite something.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36There's a lot of house hunting programmes. We're the best one.

0:02:36 > 0:02:40- That was why you went for us? - Yes.- Yes. Good, good, good.

0:02:40 > 0:02:44- Are you twisting her arm? - And so, have you struggled?

0:02:44 > 0:02:47- How long have you been looking for? - How long, Nuz?

0:02:47 > 0:02:51It's been about three months and we've see about 15 to 20 properties.

0:02:51 > 0:02:56- OK. I've heard that you would like a proper house. Can you...? - What's a proper house?

0:02:56 > 0:02:58Exactly. Define a proper house for us.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01A proper house is an upstairs and downstairs.

0:03:01 > 0:03:05We lived in a flat in Singapore, we used to live in a flat in Ruislip before,

0:03:05 > 0:03:08I've always wanted to be in a house with an upstairs and downstairs.

0:03:08 > 0:03:11Do you have a need for a big lounge? You've got a little one.

0:03:11 > 0:03:17We've got a lot of family so we really would like a big lounge where everyone can sit and socialise.

0:03:17 > 0:03:19And probably a big kitchen as well?

0:03:19 > 0:03:22It would be very good if you could. He likes cooking.

0:03:22 > 0:03:27- Is there a speciality dish? - Mine's chicken vindaloo.- Oh, really?

0:03:27 > 0:03:29I wouldn't recommend it!

0:03:29 > 0:03:34- This is the first you've realised that your vindaloo isn't very good. - He thinks it's good.- OK.

0:03:34 > 0:03:35It is very good.

0:03:35 > 0:03:38It's a Chopra thing. The Chopras likes their vindaloos.

0:03:38 > 0:03:43- What else are we looking for? - Open-plan, lots of windows, loads of light.

0:03:43 > 0:03:48So, upstairs, how many bedrooms do we need, because you've got a little person.

0:03:48 > 0:03:52- Are we thinking maybe of having more children?- Yes.- Are we?

0:03:52 > 0:03:55This is a day of revelations.

0:03:55 > 0:03:58The vindaloo's no good and you're going to have another child.

0:03:58 > 0:04:02- How many bedrooms do we need? - We need three.

0:04:02 > 0:04:06Ideally, we've got one for the little one, one for us and we have a lot of guests.

0:04:06 > 0:04:09How long are you looking for this property to live in for?

0:04:09 > 0:04:15I guess we haven't really thought about it, but I'd say probably at least five years.

0:04:15 > 0:04:17- At least five to ten years. - What about DIY?

0:04:17 > 0:04:20Proper like knocking down walls, extending?

0:04:20 > 0:04:23I think there is a bit of potential for that but ideally,

0:04:23 > 0:04:27we'd want something currently just to live in so that we can settle.

0:04:27 > 0:04:29- You want a home.- Yeah.

0:04:29 > 0:04:34- Not a money-making project! - However...- If we could make money...

0:04:34 > 0:04:36..in the long term, that'd be great.

0:04:36 > 0:04:39So whereabouts do you want to be positioned in your new property?

0:04:39 > 0:04:43We've got family around this area, actually here in Woodburn Green,

0:04:43 > 0:04:45and also on the outskirts of Slough.

0:04:45 > 0:04:50My workplace is in Maidenhead, so ideally we'd want to be 30 minutes away from everything.

0:04:50 > 0:04:53You know, from work, from family, and very close to the motorway.

0:04:53 > 0:04:57Midway in between the two, so you want to look in those areas. Perfect.

0:04:57 > 0:05:02Right, it's a big question. It's a rude question to ask people when we've only just met, but here we go.

0:05:02 > 0:05:05How much money have you got to spend on this whole dream?

0:05:05 > 0:05:09It really depends. For about £300,000, we'd buy a property which

0:05:09 > 0:05:14- needs a bit of work, redecorating, refurbishment...- Right.

0:05:14 > 0:05:18But for something that's about 360 to 370,

0:05:18 > 0:05:22we'd probably expect a house that we could move into and kind of enjoy the space.

0:05:22 > 0:05:27- That seems fair.- All the things that we're looking for. - That's quite a good spread then.

0:05:27 > 0:05:31- Right, we're going to head off. - Good luck.- Thank you very much.

0:05:31 > 0:05:34- Ed, we've learned a lot from Nin and Nuz.- We certainly have.

0:05:34 > 0:05:36We know Nuz can't cook chicken vindaloo very well.

0:05:36 > 0:05:38But he can cook a decent prawn laksa.

0:05:38 > 0:05:42And Nuz has found out he's expecting another child sometime soon.

0:05:42 > 0:05:44And also he wants a proper house, one with steps and all.

0:05:44 > 0:05:46Exactly, that is what a proper house is.

0:05:46 > 0:05:48- How much money?- £370,000.

0:05:48 > 0:05:50- We better get to it. - I think we should.

0:05:50 > 0:05:54The epicentre of our search is the market town of Beaconsfield

0:05:54 > 0:05:58in Buckinghamshire, just 25 miles north-west of the capital.

0:05:58 > 0:06:02Nestled between the Chiltern hills like a fine piece of brie

0:06:02 > 0:06:06tucked into a rustic baguette, it's easy to see why this is a popular and bustling community.

0:06:06 > 0:06:09The town dates back to 1185 and its name comes from

0:06:09 > 0:06:13the beech trees that were used to supply the local furniture.

0:06:13 > 0:06:17But perhaps it's better known as the home of author Enid Blyton

0:06:17 > 0:06:22and for being the constituency of Prime Minister and all-round dandy Benjamin Disraeli.

0:06:22 > 0:06:26The picturesque environs that have enticed Nin and Nuz have also lured

0:06:26 > 0:06:32many a film-maker, providing backdrops for Brief Encounter and Thunderball amongst others.

0:06:32 > 0:06:39All this popularity comes at a price, though, and the combination of countryside and commutability

0:06:39 > 0:06:44to the city means house prices here are running almost 30% above the national average.

0:06:44 > 0:06:52Yes, but how far would Nin and Nuz's budget of £370,000 stretch in other creative corners of the country?

0:06:52 > 0:06:55This grade two listed thatched cottage in Hampshire is

0:06:55 > 0:06:58just a few miles from where romantic writer Jane Austen was born.

0:06:58 > 0:07:02And I'm sure it won't take much persuasion

0:07:02 > 0:07:05for this two-bed beauty to be snapped up at 325 grand.

0:07:05 > 0:07:10This rural retreat is far from the madding crowd in Hardy country,

0:07:10 > 0:07:11also known to you and me as Dorset.

0:07:11 > 0:07:15With four bedrooms and period features,

0:07:15 > 0:07:17it's on the market for 350 grand.

0:07:18 > 0:07:23And this Shakespearean epic of a semi near the Bard's home town of Stratford-upon-Avon

0:07:23 > 0:07:26is a hard act to follow, with three bedrooms,

0:07:26 > 0:07:31magnificent views and planning permission to extend, all for 350K.

0:07:31 > 0:07:35With Beaconsfield being a creative hotbed for aspiring authors

0:07:35 > 0:07:40and orators, I thought it was time to test the storytelling skills of the population at large.

0:07:40 > 0:07:42So I've come up with a plan.

0:07:42 > 0:07:45I've come up with my very own story and I would like people to add to it.

0:07:45 > 0:07:50Here it is, the first line. "Ed opened the door of property number one,

0:07:50 > 0:07:52"and there he saw..." Let's find out.

0:07:52 > 0:07:54There we go. An estate agents.

0:07:54 > 0:07:57This looks like it's got a couple of crackers in there.

0:07:57 > 0:07:59I'll see if I can just squeeze in through...

0:07:59 > 0:08:02This is going to be a bit... Get in through the door here.

0:08:02 > 0:08:04Right, give me five minutes.

0:08:08 > 0:08:10This is unbelievable.

0:08:10 > 0:08:14"Ed opened the door of property number one and there he saw..."

0:08:14 > 0:08:16- What did he see?- A huge mirror.

0:08:16 > 0:08:19A huge mirror? Oh, that would have given him a shock.

0:08:19 > 0:08:22I've got a lovely couple who are looking to buy their first property together.

0:08:22 > 0:08:26They've lived in Singapore. They used to have a swimming pool and marble floors there.

0:08:26 > 0:08:29I don't think they can really afford that here.

0:08:29 > 0:08:32Out of interest, how much, if they wanted a swimming pool

0:08:32 > 0:08:35and marble floors, would we be talking in the area we're in?

0:08:35 > 0:08:37We're probably looking at least £1,500,000.

0:08:37 > 0:08:40- Right. They've got £370,000.- Ah.

0:08:40 > 0:08:41What happened next?

0:08:41 > 0:08:44He saw a mirror. He's not very attractive, let me just tell you.

0:08:44 > 0:08:47- He's not?- No.- We can't have romance then?- Well, you know, Shrek.

0:08:47 > 0:08:50- What he saw was a handsome man.- Oh!

0:08:50 > 0:08:55We've got a lot of Victorian, Edwardian, of that era, but the villages outlying

0:08:55 > 0:08:59Beaconsfield, there is a lot more choice in the more modern property.

0:08:59 > 0:09:02That is probably where you may get better value in terms of space and garden.

0:09:02 > 0:09:05- And he didn't know who it was. - Hoo-oo!

0:09:05 > 0:09:07And he had to look again.

0:09:07 > 0:09:09In a parallel universe maybe?

0:09:09 > 0:09:11There you go, like that movie Sliders.

0:09:11 > 0:09:16The whole country has had a slight dip. How has it been round here?

0:09:16 > 0:09:20The last three to four months we've seen a good gradual process of improvement

0:09:20 > 0:09:24and the level of interest now in this area has risen substantially.

0:09:24 > 0:09:28Smashed the mirror and looked to see that he's not that good looking anymore.

0:09:28 > 0:09:32Oh, he smashes the mirror to find his true self!

0:09:32 > 0:09:35I have selected one which I think might be quite good for you,

0:09:35 > 0:09:39in a village just close to here in Flackwell Heath.

0:09:39 > 0:09:43- This pretty much ticks all their boxes then. - It's got a lot of what they want.

0:09:43 > 0:09:46- Ed, let me tell you a story.- OK.

0:09:46 > 0:09:49One where one female property hunter found the perfect home for a young

0:09:49 > 0:09:54couple, where they moved into and fell in love. And it looks like this.

0:09:54 > 0:09:58Property one, there you go, beauty on the inside, beauty on the outside.

0:09:58 > 0:10:00This is what romance is all about.

0:10:00 > 0:10:03- Have you been drinking? - I'm just very giddy.- Unbelievable.

0:10:03 > 0:10:06I've gone the scientific route, because Nuz is a scientist.

0:10:06 > 0:10:09So I've distilled everything they want in a glass jar.

0:10:09 > 0:10:13I have then taken that glass jar and formed the contents into bricks.

0:10:13 > 0:10:16I've placed those bricks in Flackwell Heath. Metaphorically, of course.

0:10:16 > 0:10:21The house is beautiful. It is everything they want and it's next to a brilliant primary school.

0:10:21 > 0:10:24- This is what they will buy. - That's what you think.

0:10:24 > 0:10:30Now this is the joint choice, the wild card. Now, Nuz said he wanted a house with stairs.

0:10:30 > 0:10:33Well, this one, Ed, has it got stairs?

0:10:33 > 0:10:37Well, if it boils down to stairs and the house with the most stairs winning, then that will win.

0:10:37 > 0:10:41But I'm convinced they'll buy this and you're convinced they'll buy your one.

0:10:41 > 0:10:46Well, Ed, I think we should start this story at the beginning and start with property number one, my choice.

0:10:49 > 0:10:54My choice, property number one, is just down the road in the charming hamlet of Stoke Poges,

0:10:54 > 0:10:56within walking distance of the Common.

0:10:56 > 0:11:02The literary theme continues as the area features in Aldous Huxley's Brave New World.

0:11:02 > 0:11:06But will this house be the start of a new chapter for Nin and Nuz?

0:11:06 > 0:11:08Right then, guys, step up.

0:11:08 > 0:11:09This is property number one.

0:11:09 > 0:11:12And I am very proud to say this one is actually my choice.

0:11:12 > 0:11:15Come a little bit closer, don't be scared of it.

0:11:15 > 0:11:19- And also, we're near Stoke Poges, do you know this area?- Very little.

0:11:19 > 0:11:22We don't know Stoke Poges itself very well.

0:11:22 > 0:11:26Well, we're only ten minutes from where you're renting at the moment.

0:11:26 > 0:11:31And it's ten miles from your work, Nuz, so that's not a bad distance, would you say?

0:11:31 > 0:11:34- Fantastic, yeah. - I know you've got a little one,

0:11:34 > 0:11:38so I've had a look round the area, and I've been told there's a little park nearby.

0:11:38 > 0:11:43There's also Stoke Woods as well, for some nice walks and stuff.

0:11:43 > 0:11:46Also, got a lot of baby groups.

0:11:46 > 0:11:49- OK, that's good.- So a nice way for you to meet other mums in the area.

0:11:49 > 0:11:51How about the house itself, what do you think?

0:11:51 > 0:11:53Great from the outside.

0:11:53 > 0:11:56- First impressions, it's very well looked after.- Beautiful.

0:11:56 > 0:11:59- Lots of parking space for the family members that visit.- Brilliant.

0:11:59 > 0:12:03The living room probably isn't as big as you'd like it,

0:12:03 > 0:12:08but I am giving you more space in the back garden and some nice eating areas.

0:12:08 > 0:12:13- OK.- There we go. Also, the gentlemen of the house is quite the interior designer.

0:12:13 > 0:12:15It's immaculate in there, lovely.

0:12:15 > 0:12:18If you don't like it, you'll have to deal with the gentlemen of the house.

0:12:18 > 0:12:22- OK.- Are you ready to experience this beauty in Stoke Poges?

0:12:22 > 0:12:26- We are.- Yeah, I think so. - I think you are. Ready? 3, 2, 1.

0:12:26 > 0:12:28- Erupt into Stoke Poges.- Let's go.

0:12:28 > 0:12:30Here we go.

0:12:30 > 0:12:33Oh, this is nice.

0:12:33 > 0:12:36A nice bit of space, here. A nice bit of reception area.

0:12:36 > 0:12:39- Shall we go in to the first room? - Into the lounge.

0:12:39 > 0:12:42OK.

0:12:42 > 0:12:44Not as big as I thought it would be.

0:12:44 > 0:12:48I was quite... Yeah, I thought they were going to come with a bit more wow.

0:12:48 > 0:12:51They went down. It was tangible, wasn't it? They went down a note.

0:12:51 > 0:12:54Room for our sofas, do you think?

0:12:54 > 0:12:57- Not the way... - We may have to split them again.

0:12:57 > 0:12:59Yeah, we'd have to split the sofas.

0:12:59 > 0:13:03This is a bugbear of mine, when people look at a new house and say,

0:13:03 > 0:13:05"We can't get our furniture in."

0:13:05 > 0:13:08Unless your furniture does cost £370,000, don't worry about it.

0:13:08 > 0:13:11- Seen the fireplace?- That's nice.

0:13:11 > 0:13:13- Good fireplace.- Yeah.

0:13:13 > 0:13:18High-spec. The whole thing, all the things look reasonably high-spec.

0:13:18 > 0:13:21Whoever's been living here has looked after it well.

0:13:21 > 0:13:23Let's check out in here. Wait for me.

0:13:25 > 0:13:28- Wow. Very nice kitchen.- Very nice.

0:13:28 > 0:13:30I think we'd like this very much.

0:13:32 > 0:13:35Great big fridge as well.

0:13:35 > 0:13:38Bit of storage, underneath the stairs.

0:13:38 > 0:13:40- Oh, look.- What is it?

0:13:40 > 0:13:42- Oh!- Washer dryer, yeah.

0:13:42 > 0:13:44That's a good use of space.

0:13:44 > 0:13:47You could potentially make it into a downstairs loo.

0:13:47 > 0:13:49You could, yes, with a macerator toilet.

0:13:49 > 0:13:51And I do love the macerator toilet tip.

0:13:51 > 0:13:56I think episode 79, series six, I did a great macerator toilet tip.

0:13:56 > 0:14:02We don't really need to replace the kitchen, everything seems brand new and perfect.

0:14:02 > 0:14:06Rani's thought about wanting to live straight into a place. Look at the size of that.

0:14:06 > 0:14:08You like to cook, so there you go.

0:14:08 > 0:14:13Maybe consider in the future, maybe you could probably change this orientation and take out that wall.

0:14:13 > 0:14:16Really open the whole thing all the way through.

0:14:16 > 0:14:19Wow, look at this space, Nuz.

0:14:19 > 0:14:21- Very nice.- Loads of light.

0:14:21 > 0:14:25The problem is that there's quite a lot of disconnect between these two rooms and that room over there.

0:14:25 > 0:14:27I think it'll still work.

0:14:27 > 0:14:29- Yeah?- Yeah. I'm not sure if our dining table

0:14:29 > 0:14:32will fit in here, though. It'd be quite cramped.

0:14:32 > 0:14:34- All our furniture is too large. - Too big, yes.

0:14:34 > 0:14:39What can you say to them? They want to bring their dining table and it doesn't fit.

0:14:39 > 0:14:42Well, half of me's angry. The other half of me understands.

0:14:42 > 0:14:45But they need to have a compromise, I think. Unless...

0:14:45 > 0:14:48- Which is chop the dining table... - Chop it in half or sell it.

0:14:48 > 0:14:51Quite easy to get furniture up here, as well.

0:14:51 > 0:14:53We have got all the big stuff.

0:14:53 > 0:14:56This is the bathroom, here.

0:14:56 > 0:14:57Is there a shower?

0:14:57 > 0:15:00A shower, yeah. Shower, mixer tap.

0:15:00 > 0:15:03- OK, let me have a quick peek. - Nice little bath.

0:15:03 > 0:15:07The viewers will be going, "See, they're listing now. Don't like it.

0:15:07 > 0:15:09"Thought they liked it, but they're listing now."

0:15:09 > 0:15:12Ed will point that out in a minute. Watch him, see if he does that.

0:15:12 > 0:15:16Maybe they're just very organised folk and they're not letting emotions

0:15:16 > 0:15:20- get in the way.- You can't fool the viewers.- This is a big buy.

0:15:21 > 0:15:23This is a nice sized room.

0:15:23 > 0:15:26This is where the man from Milk Tray lives, I guess.

0:15:26 > 0:15:28Is this the main bedroom?

0:15:28 > 0:15:30I don't know, actually.

0:15:30 > 0:15:33- I'm not sure if our bed will fit in here.- I think so.

0:15:33 > 0:15:35Do you think? I think it'll be quite cramped.

0:15:35 > 0:15:38The gloves are off, Rani. Cramped?

0:15:38 > 0:15:41Cramped! Did you hear that?

0:15:41 > 0:15:42And it sounded so lovely at the start.

0:15:42 > 0:15:46We'll have to check if it's the main. We'll have to look at the other one.

0:15:46 > 0:15:50But it's a nice room. Space-wise, it's nice. Colour, not my cup of tea.

0:15:50 > 0:15:55I've just noticed, these glass panels above all these doors.

0:15:55 > 0:15:57Loads of light coming into each of the rooms.

0:15:57 > 0:15:59Wow, they're loving the light.

0:15:59 > 0:16:02Maybe their home in Singapore was very light and spacious.

0:16:02 > 0:16:05It did sound it, it had a swimming pool.

0:16:05 > 0:16:08- Swimming pool and marble floors. - I haven't given them a swimming pool.

0:16:08 > 0:16:10Or marble floors. But you have given them a trampoline.

0:16:10 > 0:16:13Marble floors would be terrible with the little one.

0:16:13 > 0:16:15He'd be sliding everywhere!

0:16:15 > 0:16:19If you ever want to trap an alligator, place it on marble floors. It can't get any grip.

0:16:19 > 0:16:25- Very pretty room.- It's nice, actually.- Everything minimal.

0:16:25 > 0:16:27Do you think he'll be happy in here?

0:16:27 > 0:16:31I think so. You've got a single bed in here, storage cabinets here and over here.

0:16:31 > 0:16:38- We'll probably have to put one of those safety catches on the windows, here.- More child friendly.

0:16:38 > 0:16:45- Yeah.- I think this has got plenty of room for him for at least five, maybe eight years.

0:16:45 > 0:16:50Have you noticed the upstairs seems smaller than the downstairs? It is more bottom heavy.

0:16:50 > 0:16:52It's a Jennifer Lopez, this house.

0:16:52 > 0:16:57Big on the downstairs, smaller on the upstairs. If you're watching, Jennifer, sorry.

0:16:57 > 0:16:59This looks like the master bedroom.

0:16:59 > 0:17:02Loads of wardrobe space.

0:17:02 > 0:17:05- Actually, this is very nice. - Very bright.- Very big room.

0:17:05 > 0:17:08I like the light fixtures.

0:17:08 > 0:17:13I actually liked the wardrobes as well. Fixed, do you think?

0:17:13 > 0:17:15I can't tell. It's nice, actually.

0:17:15 > 0:17:20- I love the bay window.- It's off the main road, so it's quiet. You can't hear the cars.

0:17:20 > 0:17:23So you can sleep with the windows open in the summer.

0:17:23 > 0:17:27What a lovely way of describing the calm and tranquillity of Stoke Poges.

0:17:27 > 0:17:31I like this house.

0:17:31 > 0:17:34Probably one of the better houses that we've seen.

0:17:34 > 0:17:36- I'd agree with that. - Yeah, Rani's done a good job.

0:17:36 > 0:17:39Hang on, they're saying I've done a good job?

0:17:39 > 0:17:41I don't know what that's based upon!

0:17:41 > 0:17:43They didn't like the living room, the kitchen was too small.

0:17:43 > 0:17:46They needed to move everything around.

0:17:46 > 0:17:49But obviously I've done a good job. Hi-five, me!

0:17:52 > 0:17:53- We're back.- All right.

0:17:53 > 0:17:56Listen, guys, you were going round the house.

0:17:56 > 0:17:58It was quite confusing. Did you like it or not?

0:17:58 > 0:18:00I thought it was a great house.

0:18:00 > 0:18:02All right.

0:18:02 > 0:18:04I thought you wouldn't need to do any work in it.

0:18:04 > 0:18:09But you still managed to find some jobs. Have you come up with a plan for the downstairs toilet?

0:18:09 > 0:18:12Yeah, there's where the washer-dryer is.

0:18:12 > 0:18:15I think that could be a little wet room.

0:18:15 > 0:18:16That's a fixable solution.

0:18:16 > 0:18:20The other work is, every time I go and see a property we always

0:18:20 > 0:18:23think about other things we can do to make it absolutely perfect.

0:18:23 > 0:18:27I can see myself living in this bit of the house more than the front part of the house.

0:18:27 > 0:18:31That's what I was saying, the living room is very cosy.

0:18:31 > 0:18:36However, I know when my family comes to visit we spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

0:18:36 > 0:18:39I thought that would be a nice way to go for you and your family.

0:18:39 > 0:18:42Stoke Poges, the other thing I didn't mention is it's got

0:18:42 > 0:18:44a doctor's surgery down the road, which would be great.

0:18:44 > 0:18:48They are trying to build a post office and a supermarket.

0:18:48 > 0:18:52For you, Nuz, you said, potentially, make some money on the property.

0:18:52 > 0:18:55If these things all come off, and hopefully they will do,

0:18:55 > 0:19:00that would add value to your house in the next four or five years, if you did want to stay here and move on.

0:19:00 > 0:19:02I'm considering moving to Stoke Poges based on that.

0:19:02 > 0:19:05It's a great place. It's a really lovely, family area.

0:19:05 > 0:19:11Let's play guess the price, then. Who wants to go first? You've got a maximum budget of £370,000.

0:19:11 > 0:19:13- Do you want to go first? - I'd say about 360.

0:19:13 > 0:19:16OK, Nin. 360. Nuz?

0:19:16 > 0:19:18I'd probably go for 350, 355.

0:19:18 > 0:19:23- I'm going to pin you down to one. What do you want?- 350.- 350, right.

0:19:23 > 0:19:26350, 360. OK.

0:19:26 > 0:19:28Who do think is better at this game?

0:19:28 > 0:19:30- I am.- Hopefully, me.

0:19:30 > 0:19:33- That means we spend less. - I'm going to tell you.

0:19:33 > 0:19:36Nin, it's actually you. This property is slightly over your budget.

0:19:36 > 0:19:39It's £374,950.

0:19:39 > 0:19:43Once again, it is because of the area and the building itself.

0:19:43 > 0:19:48Ed mentioned earlier, the guy's an interior designer and it is done immaculately.

0:19:48 > 0:19:50So, you could just move right in here.

0:19:50 > 0:19:55Just get your couch, I know it was a bit big, you could chop it in half,

0:19:55 > 0:19:57bring half of it in there and it would be perfect.

0:19:57 > 0:20:01Also, in terms of haggling, you are ready to go and you want to move in quickly.

0:20:01 > 0:20:05So you are great. You could definitely get that under your budget.

0:20:05 > 0:20:08- But you don't need to buy this in Stoke Poges.- Why? Why? Why?

0:20:08 > 0:20:10Because there's two more houses and my one's next.

0:20:10 > 0:20:12Do you want to come? Yeah, this way.

0:20:15 > 0:20:18My choice, property number two, is in Flackwell Heath.

0:20:18 > 0:20:20Commutable for Nuz and, unlike Rani's property,

0:20:20 > 0:20:24it has shops that are already built just half a mile down the road.

0:20:24 > 0:20:29It may look plain from the outside, but it packs a punch that will knock their cotton socks off.

0:20:31 > 0:20:36Nin and Nuz, we are in Flackwell Heath, which I think is a lovely area. Beautiful area.

0:20:36 > 0:20:39From the outside it doesn't reveal what it's got within it.

0:20:39 > 0:20:41We're in a lovely cul-de-sac location.

0:20:41 > 0:20:45We are half a mile from the shops. So you're within a lovely community.

0:20:45 > 0:20:48You're very near to a very good primary school as well.

0:20:48 > 0:20:53All those things factored in, and knowing that this house is magical within...

0:20:53 > 0:20:58I am going to go to you first, Nin. What do you think about it?

0:20:58 > 0:21:01I'm guessing, um... it's nice.

0:21:01 > 0:21:05- It's very nice.- Not as nice as the one you've just seen, obviously.

0:21:05 > 0:21:07I couldn't think of any words!

0:21:07 > 0:21:09Let's go to the husband. What do we think?

0:21:09 > 0:21:15Yeah. In comparison to the other place, it's a little bit more dated, perhaps.

0:21:15 > 0:21:20- I don't know why I bother with you two, sometimes. - The garden could do with some work.

0:21:20 > 0:21:24- Right, listen.- It's a really well-kept garden, but you could add your own touches.

0:21:24 > 0:21:26But it's a nice quiet place.

0:21:26 > 0:21:31You've got parking space, which is what you want when all your relatives come to visit.

0:21:31 > 0:21:35I want you to remember this lack of enthusiasm from outside.

0:21:35 > 0:21:37When you get in there, you'll love it so much that

0:21:37 > 0:21:41you might try and invoke squatters rights and stay. It's that lovely.

0:21:41 > 0:21:44- Yeah?- Yeah.- I think you'll buy this.

0:21:44 > 0:21:48- He's pointing the finger, there.- He is, he's telling you what to think.

0:21:48 > 0:21:51It's turned from pointing to aggressive wagging.

0:21:51 > 0:21:54Ready, steady, go in that house you will eventually buy.

0:21:54 > 0:21:56You've scared them into the house.

0:21:56 > 0:22:00I scare myself with my passion for this property.

0:22:01 > 0:22:02This is very nice and modern.

0:22:02 > 0:22:04Right, Ed, your reputation lies on this.

0:22:04 > 0:22:07Yes, it does. And I'm a fool to have staked it on that.

0:22:07 > 0:22:10But here comes the oohs and ahhs. Ready?

0:22:10 > 0:22:14- I'm not too sure about the walls. - That's my reputation gone, if I ever had one.

0:22:15 > 0:22:19- Nice wallpapering. - No cornicing in this one.

0:22:19 > 0:22:24I don't know... It's got a lot of... It's quite bright, as well.

0:22:24 > 0:22:26Very long. I can see the kitchen from down here.

0:22:26 > 0:22:29It's got potential.

0:22:29 > 0:22:31How can it have potential?

0:22:31 > 0:22:37- It's...- This is exactly what you were thinking about the other place.

0:22:37 > 0:22:40A very long lounge. This is very nice, actually.

0:22:40 > 0:22:42Our furniture would fit in there perfectly.

0:22:42 > 0:22:44- Look at the fireplace. - That is really cool.

0:22:44 > 0:22:48- Lovely use of space here. - It's exactly like the open plan we were talking about.

0:22:48 > 0:22:52Did you hear that? "This is exactly what we are looking for.

0:22:52 > 0:22:55"Exactly everything we're looking for, this open-plan spacey feel."

0:22:55 > 0:22:59- No. What I heard is, "This is exactly what we talked about."- Yeah, wanting.

0:22:59 > 0:23:00And Ed's somehow given it us.

0:23:00 > 0:23:02- Dining area.- This is really nice.

0:23:02 > 0:23:07- Lots of space.- I like these double doors here.

0:23:10 > 0:23:12Great big window.

0:23:12 > 0:23:14See the worktop?

0:23:14 > 0:23:16See if you can find a dishwasher.

0:23:16 > 0:23:18Electric hob.

0:23:18 > 0:23:20I didn't even know they'd gone in the kitchen.

0:23:20 > 0:23:22The kitchen is phenomenal.

0:23:22 > 0:23:25Then I realised they'd gone in the kitchen when they were looking for a dishwasher.

0:23:25 > 0:23:29There was no point when they went, "Wow, this is the greatest kitchen ever!"

0:23:29 > 0:23:32None of that. "I wonder where the dishwasher is." How dare they?

0:23:32 > 0:23:34There's a dishwasher.

0:23:34 > 0:23:36That's definitely a plus point.

0:23:36 > 0:23:39- Definitely a dishwasher. - Dishwasher, definite.

0:23:39 > 0:23:43Actually, it all goes round. This is fantastic.

0:23:43 > 0:23:45Wow, this looks nice.

0:23:45 > 0:23:47Microwave.

0:23:47 > 0:23:50- More storage space.- Fridge.

0:23:50 > 0:23:55- That's the kind of fridge you want. - Huge fridge. A door out here.

0:23:55 > 0:23:58- This could be... - The downstairs toilet.

0:23:58 > 0:24:00No. Wow.

0:24:00 > 0:24:05- We could actually convert this into another playroom or lounge. - Absolutely.

0:24:05 > 0:24:10It hasn't got any windows, but you can probably make a window out of that door there. Or even here.

0:24:10 > 0:24:14- Use this space.- I think so.

0:24:14 > 0:24:17Because we're not going to use this as a garage, to be honest, are we?

0:24:17 > 0:24:21No. A lot of this is storage and there's walls.

0:24:21 > 0:24:25The ceiling is a lot more fixed compared to the other place.

0:24:25 > 0:24:28There's a lot that can be done in here, actually.

0:24:28 > 0:24:32There's your downstairs bathroom. Look at that tiny sink on the side.

0:24:32 > 0:24:34THEY LAUGH

0:24:34 > 0:24:37- A downstairs toilet, right? You didn't give them one.- I didn't.

0:24:37 > 0:24:41You gave them a cupboard with a washing machine and said you could use that as a toilet, right?

0:24:41 > 0:24:45- I've given them a toilet and they've laughed at it. - I didn't say... Hang on!

0:24:45 > 0:24:48I'm not sure about these banisters here, Nuz. Think they could do with...

0:24:48 > 0:24:50- Dated?- Yeah, Very dated. Very '70s.

0:24:50 > 0:24:53I like this more than the last place.

0:24:53 > 0:24:58It's smaller, but it's actually very modern and reasonably high-spec as well.

0:24:58 > 0:25:01But it's a nice little bathroom.

0:25:03 > 0:25:05OK. It's a nice double room.

0:25:05 > 0:25:07I like those wardrobes.

0:25:07 > 0:25:11- They're great, actually. Loads and loads of space.- This must be...

0:25:14 > 0:25:18- ..the third bedroom. - Again, about the same size as the last place, actually.

0:25:18 > 0:25:22Got a single bed. Again, all the double-glazing needs modernising.

0:25:22 > 0:25:24It looks a bit dated again.

0:25:24 > 0:25:26They probably do need updating. Some of them do.

0:25:26 > 0:25:30Some seals have gone, so there's condensation. Doesn't cost as much as you think.

0:25:30 > 0:25:35- This must be the master bedroom. - This is.

0:25:35 > 0:25:37Again, fitted wardrobes.

0:25:37 > 0:25:39- It's a bigger room.- Huge window.

0:25:39 > 0:25:41The views are lovely.

0:25:41 > 0:25:44Listen to the peace and quiet. There's nothing wrong with it.

0:25:44 > 0:25:48It's idyllic. Bill Oddie could sit and watch his favourite birds saunter by.

0:25:48 > 0:25:54Definitely good for storage and a lot more space here than the other place in the bedrooms as well.

0:25:54 > 0:25:56I think I'd like to look at downstairs again.

0:25:56 > 0:26:01Ed, I think it's going to take more than that wagging finger to convince them to buy this property.

0:26:01 > 0:26:04I actually give up. I've given up.

0:26:04 > 0:26:07- I've given up.- Get all your hands on them.- I'm quitting the show.

0:26:10 > 0:26:14Right, you two. Do not let Ed get his finger out again.

0:26:14 > 0:26:17- I don't want to see that finger again.- I'm going to put it away.

0:26:17 > 0:26:20What happened in there? Ed thought this was the perfect property.

0:26:20 > 0:26:24First thing you said, "The walls need doing.

0:26:24 > 0:26:25"It has potential."

0:26:25 > 0:26:27I thought you were going to love it.

0:26:27 > 0:26:29All open living space.

0:26:29 > 0:26:32Living space, definitely. Lots of open space.

0:26:32 > 0:26:38- So that was good.- Once you get round the corner, the initial walls are a little bit dated.

0:26:38 > 0:26:42- Whilst retro, currently, a little bit dated in my opinion. - Not our cup of tea.

0:26:42 > 0:26:47With this property, was it kind of a bit nerve-racking because you can't move into this straight away?

0:26:47 > 0:26:51- Is that what you were feeling? - I think we can live with it for a while.

0:26:51 > 0:26:53My finger's going to come out!

0:26:53 > 0:26:55Put that finger away!

0:26:55 > 0:27:00But I feel as though I need to pick this house and put it somewhere else. I'm not sure about the area.

0:27:00 > 0:27:03- It's not an area you've looked round much, is it?- Not really, no.

0:27:03 > 0:27:08- We've overlooked this area.- OK. Maybe that's why.- Put the finger away!- The finger's away.

0:27:08 > 0:27:10I'm not sure about the front of the house, either.

0:27:10 > 0:27:13- The finger's back out again. Listen. - A few hanging baskets.

0:27:13 > 0:27:16It's very showpiece.

0:27:16 > 0:27:18It doesn't feel very homely.

0:27:18 > 0:27:22You're getting two fingers now. I am prodding and pointing. This is lovely.

0:27:22 > 0:27:24You've really upset his fellow, now.

0:27:24 > 0:27:27Let's go for guess the price. Nin, you were closest last time.

0:27:27 > 0:27:30- It's 1-0. - Flackwell Heath, I would say...

0:27:30 > 0:27:34She's going first, you haven't even got a chance on this, Nuz.

0:27:34 > 0:27:36370 is your maximum budget.

0:27:36 > 0:27:40- I'd say about 355.- 355? Nuz?

0:27:40 > 0:27:43- I'm probably going to go for 360, I think.- 360?

0:27:43 > 0:27:48- The actual price, someone is out by £50. Who is it?- It's me.

0:27:48 > 0:27:50It isn't you.

0:27:50 > 0:27:51THEY LAUGH

0:27:51 > 0:27:54It's Nuz. The actual price is 359,950.

0:27:54 > 0:27:59Which is a great price. Again, as I say, you're in a brilliant position.

0:27:59 > 0:28:04You have nothing to sell, you're ready to go, ready to move in. You could get more money off this.

0:28:04 > 0:28:06I've got the finger back out again.

0:28:06 > 0:28:11Stop, stop, stop. It's 1-1 now. But you've still got the wild card to see.

0:28:11 > 0:28:13Would you like to see that?

0:28:13 > 0:28:17- I don't think they should be allowed to go.- That way, wild card, go!

0:28:17 > 0:28:19Be on your best behaviour.

0:28:21 > 0:28:23What can we say about today's wild card?

0:28:23 > 0:28:27It's a step up from the rest. Ten extra steps, in fact. I've counted them.

0:28:27 > 0:28:32Let's just hope they've got a head for heights, because they might need it with this three-floor monster.

0:28:32 > 0:28:36Well, Nuz did want stairs and this house has them in spades.

0:28:36 > 0:28:40We also think it has fantastic living space and with these views,

0:28:40 > 0:28:44it's a baaa-rgain they won't bleat at.

0:28:44 > 0:28:48Right, guys. This is the part of the show that everyone loves.

0:28:48 > 0:28:50Or hates.

0:28:50 > 0:28:53- Or hates?!- How dare you?

0:28:53 > 0:28:55This is the wild card.

0:28:55 > 0:28:57First impressions, do you hate it?

0:28:57 > 0:29:00- It's massive.- There you go. - But you wanted a lot of space.

0:29:00 > 0:29:04- It looks huge. - Think of the heating bills.

0:29:04 > 0:29:07When I first looked at it, I thought it was just this bit here.

0:29:07 > 0:29:12It's the whole thing. I'm thinking, wow, it is very big. Now that you mention the bills...

0:29:12 > 0:29:15It is the benefit of global warming. It's getting warmer these days.

0:29:15 > 0:29:17Really, I think we've got that covered.

0:29:17 > 0:29:22We're in Chesham. Very nice place. You are on the tube here, on the Metropolitan Line.

0:29:22 > 0:29:24You can get into London that way.

0:29:24 > 0:29:29I think we're just on the edge of the furthest point to Maidenhead, where you need to be.

0:29:29 > 0:29:31We're probably pushing the half-hour mark, I would say.

0:29:31 > 0:29:33About 16 miles to Maidenhead, to your work.

0:29:33 > 0:29:36Nine miles back to where your family live in High Wycombe.

0:29:36 > 0:29:40It's not too far away. You don't have to worry about that.

0:29:40 > 0:29:42Talking about keeping warm, something you mentioned,

0:29:42 > 0:29:46- you wanted a proper house with stairs.- We said an upstairs and a downstairs.

0:29:46 > 0:29:50- We've got an upstairs and an upstairs and a downstairs. - It's doubly proper.

0:29:50 > 0:29:53It's a proper house cubed, almost.

0:29:53 > 0:29:56- So, are you excited about your wild card?- I am.

0:29:56 > 0:30:01Now, I think for you, Nin, this is the nicest area of all of them for the cappuccino factor,

0:30:01 > 0:30:06the shops, the community, because you are maybe a ten-minute walk and you are in everything.

0:30:06 > 0:30:08- Tried and tested? - Yes, we've done it.

0:30:08 > 0:30:10With a pram to make it nice and brisk as well.

0:30:10 > 0:30:13I'm sure it looked a bit strange, because it wasn't a real baby.

0:30:13 > 0:30:15- Ready to go in? - I am.- I think so.

0:30:15 > 0:30:17Three, two, one. Enter your proper, proper house.

0:30:17 > 0:30:20It was a bit odd, wasn't it, when you pushed me in that pram?

0:30:20 > 0:30:23It was weird, but it was worth it for that moment there.

0:30:23 > 0:30:27That's probably good, we could keep the pushchair there.

0:30:27 > 0:30:30- Storage downstairs.- Yeah.

0:30:32 > 0:30:33Downstairs room.

0:30:33 > 0:30:38A small office or something, or even a store room or something like that.

0:30:38 > 0:30:39Or maybe a bedroom for someone.

0:30:41 > 0:30:45- OK.- OK, shall we go to the next...up these stairs?

0:30:45 > 0:30:47Who do you think lives in a house like this, Nuz?

0:30:47 > 0:30:49I just don't know.

0:30:49 > 0:30:52Small little bathroom. I thought it went round, but it doesn't.

0:30:52 > 0:30:56OK. Actually, I like this. The floor's excellent.

0:30:56 > 0:30:58Yeah, I do like the floor, yeah.

0:30:58 > 0:31:01It is original flooring, and, right, it's lovely.

0:31:01 > 0:31:04It's a house that was built in the '60s. They do have original features.

0:31:04 > 0:31:06This must be the kitchen.

0:31:06 > 0:31:09Kitchen on the first floor.

0:31:09 > 0:31:13- OK.- A great big window.

0:31:13 > 0:31:14It's a functional kitchen.

0:31:14 > 0:31:16It could do with a bit of modernising.

0:31:16 > 0:31:18They want to modernise this kitchen.

0:31:18 > 0:31:21Fair point, they have to modernise the house.

0:31:21 > 0:31:24Keep the flooring, but everything else does need an upgrade.

0:31:24 > 0:31:28It's a lot more narrower than I thought it was. It's not as...

0:31:28 > 0:31:30Actually, it comes round here as well.

0:31:30 > 0:31:35OK, bit of space round here. That's good. That's where the door.

0:31:35 > 0:31:37Ah, OK. That door connects into...

0:31:37 > 0:31:40Then the room comes round. An interesting shape.

0:31:40 > 0:31:42I quite like these open doors here.

0:31:42 > 0:31:46Nice way out down here. Now, in my property, the brilliant property that I believe was brilliant,

0:31:46 > 0:31:50that was a little bit lost on Nin, but anyway, they were talking

0:31:50 > 0:31:55about dividing the rooms up maybe somehow with screening or whatever, it's done here. It's perfect here.

0:31:55 > 0:31:57Great garden, Nuz. Look at this garden.

0:31:57 > 0:32:00That's very nice, actually. It's split on two levels.

0:32:00 > 0:32:05- Nice trees.- And they've even got a little outhouse there. For the summer.

0:32:05 > 0:32:06There's nice views out here.

0:32:06 > 0:32:12The view's excellent. It's also very light. Have you seen the amount of light that comes through both ways?

0:32:12 > 0:32:13She does like her light.

0:32:13 > 0:32:17There is lots of light that floods into this property, as an estate agent might say,

0:32:17 > 0:32:21from all angles, and then on the front of the house, lot of higgledy-piggledy windows there.

0:32:21 > 0:32:25If they put any more windows, the house would have fallen down.

0:32:25 > 0:32:27- Would it be a conservatory? - It'd be a conservatory.

0:32:27 > 0:32:30I don't think this is going to be practical for your mum.

0:32:30 > 0:32:33No, she's not particularly fond of stairs at the moment.

0:32:33 > 0:32:35Yeah.

0:32:35 > 0:32:38Especially if she wants to go upstairs and have a shower.

0:32:38 > 0:32:43They wanted stairs. They said, proper house, we want a house with stairs.

0:32:43 > 0:32:45- We have given them a lot of stairs. - A lot of stairs.

0:32:45 > 0:32:50And they wanted a lot of space, so we have given them a lotta, lotta space, as Cilla would say.

0:32:50 > 0:32:55- Like a lead balloon. Like a lead balloon.- This must be the first bedroom. Oooh.

0:32:55 > 0:32:57Bedroom number one.

0:32:57 > 0:33:01I'm not too sure about this. Yellow's not my colour.

0:33:01 > 0:33:07I don't think the decoration's what we would go for, but it's a lovely garden.

0:33:07 > 0:33:11- Yeah, well looked-after.- But also a lot of maintenance, I think.

0:33:11 > 0:33:16Lots of cutting back and pruning and all that kind of stuff. Hedging.

0:33:16 > 0:33:19Build your muscles up, Nin!

0:33:19 > 0:33:22Four or five bedrooms. A lot of space. OK, so this is...

0:33:22 > 0:33:25- Quite small rooms. - This is a box room.

0:33:25 > 0:33:30Most amount of bedrooms here in this property, and for some reason, they are saying they're all small.

0:33:30 > 0:33:32I went into the smallest room and I was with you.

0:33:32 > 0:33:35- You were with me.- And what did I do? - You did this.- I always do that.

0:33:35 > 0:33:37- But you have to do this. - No, I didn't!

0:33:37 > 0:33:40You did this, and there was still a bit of room.

0:33:40 > 0:33:42- They could have a double bed but not a side table.- No.

0:33:42 > 0:33:44It's good for a nursery size.

0:33:44 > 0:33:46Blue for boys, not bad.

0:33:46 > 0:33:50Wouldn't have to redecorate. Doesn't really do much for me, this room.

0:33:50 > 0:33:52No, it doesn't do much for me, either.

0:33:52 > 0:33:55This must be the master bedroom.

0:33:55 > 0:33:57Nice room. It's a nice room.

0:33:57 > 0:33:59It's actually quite big.

0:33:59 > 0:34:05- Nice window.- All the windows, there's no double-glazing here.

0:34:05 > 0:34:07You've got cupboards again.

0:34:07 > 0:34:11Built-in wardrobes, again quite dated.

0:34:11 > 0:34:14Quite a lot of modernisation required.

0:34:14 > 0:34:18The reason why they're disappointed is not because of the size, or views, because they are great.

0:34:18 > 0:34:21The reason is because of the decor, I would say,

0:34:21 > 0:34:25- and it really isn't as much as they think, to do it up.- This must be...

0:34:25 > 0:34:27The fourth bedroom.

0:34:27 > 0:34:30- So, lots of bedrooms. - Again, this is a box room.

0:34:30 > 0:34:32Could use this for your mother.

0:34:32 > 0:34:35You could get a double bed in here if you wanted to, I think.

0:34:35 > 0:34:38What are you laughing for?

0:34:38 > 0:34:39The box room for my mother!

0:34:39 > 0:34:44- Ed, they don't like it.- I know. - And you know what? Don't get your fingers out.- Why? Cos I want to.

0:34:44 > 0:34:46I am getting MY fingers out.

0:34:46 > 0:34:48I'm very angry as well.

0:34:51 > 0:34:54Right, you two, I have got a finger each for you.

0:34:54 > 0:34:58Nuz, you wanted a proper house with stairs, we've given you loads of stairs.

0:34:58 > 0:35:02- You wanted space, we've given you space.- But it's not practical.

0:35:02 > 0:35:07Practical! Two young people like yourselves and the growing family!

0:35:07 > 0:35:09What's not practical about it?

0:35:09 > 0:35:12We're thinking about the extended family, so elderly parents...

0:35:12 > 0:35:14Going up and down the stairs.

0:35:14 > 0:35:19- This is your problem for wanting a proper house with stairs. We thought...- That was him, not me.

0:35:19 > 0:35:22So you want a bungalow. You want a flat?

0:35:22 > 0:35:26- I want a normal house.- Right, OK, so this a little bit too wild.

0:35:26 > 0:35:30This is too wild, yes. Probably doesn't tick enough boxes for us.

0:35:30 > 0:35:34If it was the right price, you would have money left to do it up,

0:35:34 > 0:35:37maybe make some money on it, like you said you wanted.

0:35:37 > 0:35:40- Absolutely. - You'd take the stairs out.

0:35:40 > 0:35:45- We're neck and neck, guess the price. £370,000.- Maximum budget.

0:35:45 > 0:35:51Who would like to go first on this, the most important guess the price?

0:35:51 > 0:35:53- You go.- You go. No, you go! No, you go. No, you go!

0:35:53 > 0:35:59There's little bits of information you're giving us. Probably...333.

0:35:59 > 0:36:01Oh, I was going to go for that.

0:36:01 > 0:36:03All the threes. Were you?

0:36:03 > 0:36:06I'll say 340.

0:36:06 > 0:36:10- 340.- All right. We said 370 was your maximum project.

0:36:10 > 0:36:13Nin, congratulations, you are the closest.

0:36:13 > 0:36:15You have won guess the price.

0:36:15 > 0:36:20- This property is on the market at 359,950.- OK.

0:36:20 > 0:36:23- Same as your price.- Same as my one, and there's more house here.

0:36:23 > 0:36:27So, knowing the price and everything else, where does that...

0:36:27 > 0:36:28No, yes, no?

0:36:28 > 0:36:30Probably the least favourite, I'd say.

0:36:30 > 0:36:34I don't want you to spoil it for the viewers to see which one you are going to pick,

0:36:34 > 0:36:38because you can now go away and make the biggest decision of your adult lives...

0:36:38 > 0:36:42- I think I've made it.- Ooh! But what about Nuz? Give him a say.

0:36:42 > 0:36:44She makes my decisions for me!

0:36:44 > 0:36:50Wander off, confer about your decision and we will see you outside your chosen vehicle. Good luck.

0:36:50 > 0:36:52Off you guys go.

0:36:52 > 0:36:55Well, if Nin can convince Nuz, it may be your one.

0:36:55 > 0:36:58We don't know, but here's a quick recap for you at home.

0:36:58 > 0:37:01Will it be my choice of property number one?

0:37:01 > 0:37:05Close to Stoke Poges Common with three beds and a great

0:37:05 > 0:37:08kitchen/dining space that would be ideal for family get-togethers.

0:37:08 > 0:37:10This has to be top of the house heap,

0:37:10 > 0:37:15even though it's just over budget at 374,950.

0:37:15 > 0:37:17Not so fast, my dear Rani.

0:37:17 > 0:37:21Maybe you're forgetting the diamond on the coal face that is property number two.

0:37:21 > 0:37:25With the open living space Nin and Nuz wanted,

0:37:25 > 0:37:29a top-of-the-range kitchen, the all-important downstairs loo,

0:37:29 > 0:37:34and it's well within budget at 359,950, c'est bon.

0:37:34 > 0:37:38But let's not forget the wily wild card.

0:37:38 > 0:37:41Ah, yes. This dominating detached got a cool reception at first.

0:37:41 > 0:37:46On reflection, will its combination of space, light, views...

0:37:46 > 0:37:49And stairs, enough to satisfy Nuz's footfall fixation...

0:37:49 > 0:37:54Bring them around to its bargain price, also on the market at 359,950.

0:37:59 > 0:38:03Well, I have to say, it's lovely being back in Stoke Poges.

0:38:03 > 0:38:06Property number one. Whose choice was this?

0:38:06 > 0:38:08Oh, it was my choice, of course.

0:38:08 > 0:38:13It was just to over your budget, so how come you have chosen property one to test drive today?

0:38:13 > 0:38:18- I think it just felt right. This is a beautiful property, and it just felt right.- Real homely feel.

0:38:18 > 0:38:22Oh, homely feel. It's exactly what you want, so that's great news for me.

0:38:22 > 0:38:27Well, you know, yes, I am livid, but I am pleased you found something that gave you a homely feel.

0:38:27 > 0:38:31Now, we have had our mysterious surveyor come round and have a sniff at this property.

0:38:31 > 0:38:33Now, he spotted a few things.

0:38:33 > 0:38:38It's not legally binding, but it's a good heads up just to let you know what you're going into.

0:38:38 > 0:38:42If you take a look at the chimney stack there, he has pointed out the pointing.

0:38:42 > 0:38:44Can you see in between the bricks?

0:38:44 > 0:38:46- Yes.- Kind of where the plaster work is going.

0:38:46 > 0:38:48Well, that needs to be redone.

0:38:48 > 0:38:52What he said, this isn't an immediate problem, but in the next five years,

0:38:52 > 0:38:54it's something that needs to be looked at.

0:38:54 > 0:38:56Now, if you don't, water would seep in.

0:38:56 > 0:39:01- Eventually, there would be damp and you'd see that inside the house, down the chimney stack.- OK.

0:39:01 > 0:39:04You have got asbestos for the garage roof.

0:39:04 > 0:39:08- Now that sounds terrible. - Always sounds terrible, and people have a fear of asbestos.

0:39:08 > 0:39:11Now, it's not damaged, there's nothing wrong with it.

0:39:11 > 0:39:15If it was damaged and cracked and broken, you would need to get rid of it,

0:39:15 > 0:39:19and in getting rid of it, you need to get a professional person to do that.

0:39:19 > 0:39:21Asbestos needs to be handled correctly.

0:39:21 > 0:39:25Because there's nothing wrong with it, you don't need to worry.

0:39:25 > 0:39:29You don't need to replace it, so it is asbestos, but don't fear it.

0:39:29 > 0:39:32Other than that, our man said it was lovely, fine. Perfect.

0:39:32 > 0:39:35- He did that, literally.- He said two thumbs up. He really liked it.

0:39:35 > 0:39:39Are you ready to... Sure you don't want to go back to my one?

0:39:39 > 0:39:42- Stop. - No, no, we are sure about this one.

0:39:42 > 0:39:44- Really?- Yes.- All right, then.

0:39:44 > 0:39:45Go on. Go on, enjoy it!

0:39:49 > 0:39:52Hello, who's this? Are the owners back already?

0:39:52 > 0:39:54Hello.

0:39:54 > 0:39:58No, Ed, I think you'll find it's the descent of the Chopras.

0:39:59 > 0:40:03You're right. Blimey, there's one, two, three, four, five, si...

0:40:03 > 0:40:08- I give up! It's a veritable gaggle of Chopras, large and small. - Is that it?

0:40:08 > 0:40:10Wow!

0:40:10 > 0:40:13Looks like the place is getting the thumbs-up from the family.

0:40:13 > 0:40:20And fair play. That kitchen dining space is proving to be the perfect entertaining area.

0:40:20 > 0:40:21Nice and spacious!

0:40:21 > 0:40:26In fact, with the feast they have laid on, I am sorry we have left them to it!

0:40:26 > 0:40:30And after cramming in those carbs, there's nothing better than a quick

0:40:30 > 0:40:35run to take off the calories, and take in the local area.

0:40:35 > 0:40:37Wow!

0:40:37 > 0:40:42- I love this room.- Meanwhile, Nin's giving the living area the creche test with her nieces and nephews.

0:40:42 > 0:40:45And what's that song they are singing?

0:40:45 > 0:40:48# Buy the house! Buy the house! #

0:40:48 > 0:40:51Ah, yes, that old classic, Buy The House,

0:40:51 > 0:40:55or as I believe it's also called, Rani The Victorious.

0:40:55 > 0:40:57THEY CHEER

0:40:57 > 0:41:01You were loving that so much, we didn't think you were going to come out!

0:41:01 > 0:41:05Right, now, this is it. You have had, how many people have come round during this test drive?

0:41:05 > 0:41:09Four adults, four children, two babies.

0:41:09 > 0:41:14- More fingers.- But a lot of people, and a lot of opinions, I would say.

0:41:14 > 0:41:17What was the consensus? Do more people want you to buy the house?

0:41:17 > 0:41:20Do they like it? Do they think it's a good area?

0:41:20 > 0:41:22More people have said they like the place.

0:41:22 > 0:41:26They said it's really nice inside, very bright, lots of space.

0:41:26 > 0:41:30- They have been saying to buy. - Yes, there was a lot of bullying from the children.

0:41:30 > 0:41:35- Yes. Did you hear them chanting? - Yes.- Are they aware of how much money £370,000 is?

0:41:35 > 0:41:38They don't know how much £3.50 is!

0:41:38 > 0:41:41I think we are there. I think we're at that very nervous point.

0:41:41 > 0:41:45We've had nearly 45 minutes of television building to where we are now.

0:41:45 > 0:41:49You're looking for your first family home, and you have got £370,000 to spend.

0:41:49 > 0:41:52Are you going to be spending it on this property, to buy or not to buy?

0:41:54 > 0:41:56Maybe if the price is right.

0:42:00 > 0:42:04Can we have a hint at what the right price is, maybe?

0:42:04 > 0:42:08And then we may come in with an offer below 370, but we may come in with an offer.

0:42:08 > 0:42:12All right, well, I'm going to take that as positive, and as it is just starting to rain...

0:42:12 > 0:42:17Don't take this as a bleak end to the programme. It's a British summertime end.

0:42:17 > 0:42:21If you do buy a house, and if it's this one...

0:42:21 > 0:42:24- We'll invite you round for samosas.- We'd love it.

0:42:24 > 0:42:27- Sounds good to us.- See you soon. - Take care.- Thank you. Bye.
