0:00:02 > 0:00:04Good morning. Welcome to To Buy Or Not To Buy.

0:00:04 > 0:00:08Today we're in the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

0:00:08 > 0:00:11That, my bricks-and-mortar fans, is a fact.

0:00:11 > 0:00:16What better place to start the show than in one of the Cotswolds' most beautiful villages?

0:00:25 > 0:00:32The Cotswolds has many model villages, but I can guarantee that not many as are unique as this one.

0:00:32 > 0:00:34Why is it that we met here?

0:00:34 > 0:00:37It's due to BBC budgetary restrictions.

0:00:37 > 0:00:40I thought if we met here,

0:00:40 > 0:00:41we'd get an overview of the village.

0:00:41 > 0:00:43Also, we can pretend we've got helicopter shots

0:00:43 > 0:00:46to make the whole show zingy and new.

0:00:46 > 0:00:53I like it! You do really get a sense of the lay of the village. Even the stone is accurate.

0:00:53 > 0:00:56It's gorgeous, isn't it? You do get a sense of community, I feel.

0:00:56 > 0:01:00I think, actually, we could show them this one.

0:01:00 > 0:01:03It's a toy house. It's a toy house!

0:01:03 > 0:01:05He's 6'3"!

0:01:05 > 0:01:09I see your point. Well, this one only has two bedrooms.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12Again, that's a toy house.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14What about this one over here?

0:01:14 > 0:01:18Coming up, we boldly go where no property show has gone before.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21- Do you want to ask the rude question, Nikki?- Yes.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23We're not answering!

0:01:23 > 0:01:27There's a whole new world of house design.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30This is another one of the Jack and Jill... Jill and Jack...

0:01:30 > 0:01:34Actually, in honour of Barry and Bart, it's a Jack and Jack bathroom.

0:01:34 > 0:01:38- It is indeed.- Have our buyers found their dream home?

0:01:38 > 0:01:41Wow, what a bathroom!

0:01:41 > 0:01:43Seriously!

0:01:43 > 0:01:45I can't believe it!

0:01:45 > 0:01:49Bart and Barry, To Buy Or Not To Buy?

0:01:49 > 0:01:52Today's buyers are Barry Lewis and Bart Lelivelt.

0:01:52 > 0:01:54Barry is a retired solicitor from London.

0:01:54 > 0:01:58Bart is Dutch by birth and, after training as a teacher,

0:01:58 > 0:02:01changed careers to travel the world with various airlines.

0:02:01 > 0:02:04They've been a couple for 30 years and entered into

0:02:04 > 0:02:11a civil partnership ten years ago, sharing their anniversary with none other than Sir Elton John.

0:02:11 > 0:02:17With both of them now retired, they've travelled to the Cotswolds to hunt for their dream second home.

0:02:17 > 0:02:18Somewhere they can retreat to

0:02:18 > 0:02:23from the hustle and bustle of their current home in Richmond, Southwest London.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26Somewhere to relax and unwind from the stresses of everyday life.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28To be honest, they don't look that stressed to me, Nikki.

0:02:28 > 0:02:33No, I think they may be onto something with this whole retirement thing.

0:02:33 > 0:02:34Good morning!

0:02:34 > 0:02:36- How are we?- We're fine, thank you.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39Now, we're all sat here in decadent glamour, because we're

0:02:39 > 0:02:43- about to embark on something rather exciting today.- Super.

0:02:43 > 0:02:45It's quite an elaborate thing here.

0:02:45 > 0:02:49- We are selling a property in... Majorca?- That's right.

0:02:49 > 0:02:53And swapping Majorca for the Cotswolds.

0:02:53 > 0:02:55Yes.

0:02:55 > 0:02:59Which is quite dramatic. What has made this all happen?

0:02:59 > 0:03:01We want to have a dog again.

0:03:01 > 0:03:05We've been abroad for so long, and to-ed and fro-ed so much over the years.

0:03:05 > 0:03:09We just want to be able to get in the car and get out to the second property that way.

0:03:09 > 0:03:13- Do we have to find you a dog as well?- Would you? - I'd like that, yeah.

0:03:13 > 0:03:15Have we got a name for the dog yet?

0:03:15 > 0:03:18- Fido?- Fido!

0:03:18 > 0:03:21We can work from that.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24Why the Cotswolds? What is it about the Cotswolds that you like?

0:03:24 > 0:03:26It's a very beautiful area.

0:03:26 > 0:03:31- Has everything. It is very lovely and it's also very convenient.- Yeah.

0:03:31 > 0:03:34- Very accessible.- Two hours.

0:03:34 > 0:03:38- This is from your other place, in London?- Richmond.

0:03:38 > 0:03:40What are you really looking for?

0:03:40 > 0:03:42What would be your ideal home?

0:03:42 > 0:03:47The ideal home? Something that is quite stylish.

0:03:47 > 0:03:53Ample accommodation without it being too much. A nice garden.

0:03:53 > 0:03:56- If possible, nice views. Not absolutely essential.- No.

0:03:56 > 0:03:59And somewhere fairly pristine.

0:03:59 > 0:04:02It could have a bit of a wow factor.

0:04:02 > 0:04:05There's a lot to pick out from that. So ample, but not too much.

0:04:05 > 0:04:10Let's define that in amount of bedrooms and living space.

0:04:10 > 0:04:12- Three bedrooms.- Three to four.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14Three is ample.

0:04:14 > 0:04:16OK. So you're kind of up for everything, really?

0:04:16 > 0:04:19- Yes, we're very, very open-minded.- Modern?

0:04:19 > 0:04:22Could be very modern.

0:04:22 > 0:04:27But something well done, cleverly designed with some sort of character and style, really.

0:04:27 > 0:04:31But in particular something that doesn't need a lot doing to it.

0:04:31 > 0:04:34Preferably something that we could walk into.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36I have you down as entertainers.

0:04:36 > 0:04:40- I reckon you would host quite good dinner parties...- Yes.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43Don't eat the food, but yes!

0:04:43 > 0:04:46Is that an important aspect of your life?

0:04:46 > 0:04:49Do you need entertaining space downstairs?

0:04:49 > 0:04:51Some.

0:04:51 > 0:04:53Less than we used to, but we still entertain.

0:04:53 > 0:04:55It still happens, doesn't it?

0:04:55 > 0:04:59We wouldn't have anybody to entertain here at the moment!

0:04:59 > 0:05:01I think you'll make friends very quickly here.

0:05:01 > 0:05:04- It's very friendly.- Yes.

0:05:04 > 0:05:05Do you want to ask the rude question?

0:05:05 > 0:05:08- Yes.- We're not answering! - You answer that one!

0:05:08 > 0:05:10What is your budget?

0:05:12 > 0:05:15Budget - in the region of 700.

0:05:15 > 0:05:18Possibly we would go over, but we'd rather not.

0:05:18 > 0:05:22OK, so we're looking at...? Give us a hard, definite sum.

0:05:22 > 0:05:27What's the amount we could go over the 700, that we could look up to and haggle back from?

0:05:27 > 0:05:32- What's our haggle zone? - 750.- 750. OK.

0:05:32 > 0:05:35- All right.- Well, wish us luck.

0:05:35 > 0:05:36- Good luck.- You wish US luck! - Yes!

0:05:36 > 0:05:40And we'll have you a house and a name for the dog by the end of the programme.

0:05:40 > 0:05:42- Good idea.- See you in a bit.

0:05:42 > 0:05:45- See you later.- OK, bye.

0:05:47 > 0:05:50Aren't they just fabulous and funny and charming and...?

0:05:50 > 0:05:53I'm going to looking forward to finding them a property.

0:05:53 > 0:05:57Same here. The houses I'm not concerned about - never have been, never will be.

0:05:57 > 0:06:01Cut me in half and it reads "I am not concerned about houses," rather like a stick of rock.

0:06:01 > 0:06:04My problem today is the dog, the naming of the dog.

0:06:04 > 0:06:08We could go down the Hollywood route. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and you get...?

0:06:08 > 0:06:11- Brangelina.- Right, but if you do that with Barry and Bart.

0:06:11 > 0:06:15You get Barry or you get Bart, which doesn't get us anywhere.

0:06:15 > 0:06:18If we did it with my name and yours, we get Ned the dog.

0:06:18 > 0:06:22Or we get Ekki, like Ecky Thump.

0:06:22 > 0:06:25- Which is a ridiculous name for a dog.- Come here, Ekki!

0:06:25 > 0:06:28No, it doesn't work. You need to do something sensible now. What?

0:06:28 > 0:06:31- See the estate agents. - OK. I'm going to do something silly.

0:06:31 > 0:06:33- What a surprise.- See you later.

0:06:33 > 0:06:37The Cotswolds covers a huge 2,038 square kilometres, making it the largest

0:06:37 > 0:06:42of the 40 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England and Wales.

0:06:42 > 0:06:46Inhabited for over 6,000 years, it was once famous for its wool trade,

0:06:46 > 0:06:51at the peak of which the native Cotswold sheep provided wool for over half of England's cloth.

0:06:51 > 0:06:54But it's not just the wool that the area is renowned for.

0:06:54 > 0:07:00Cotswold stone is recognised worldwide, giving many of the houses here that distinctive yellow hue.

0:07:00 > 0:07:04The agriculture heritage, combined with the historic villages

0:07:04 > 0:07:09dotted amongst this rich, verdant landscape, gives the Cotswolds a real feel of Ye Olde England.

0:07:09 > 0:07:13And Barry and Bart will be happy to know that this is one of the best areas for walking

0:07:13 > 0:07:18and, with 3,000 miles of footpaths, there will be an abundance of beautiful vistas for them to enjoy.

0:07:18 > 0:07:21But how much will amazing views cost you in other parts of the country?

0:07:21 > 0:07:25This superb five-bedroomed detached house sits in one-and-a-half acres

0:07:25 > 0:07:28of gardens on the fringe of the Lake District National Park.

0:07:28 > 0:07:32With a first-floor lounge offering spectacular views, the price is...

0:07:34 > 0:07:37How about this stylish five-bedroomed house near Newcastle?

0:07:37 > 0:07:43The slightly elevated house has panoramic views of County Durham countryside. The price?

0:07:46 > 0:07:48And now to the southwest.

0:07:48 > 0:07:50This delightful five-bedroomed traditional farmhouse

0:07:50 > 0:07:55has many original features as well as three-and-a-quarter acres of grounds.

0:07:58 > 0:08:03Heading into the estate agents, I'm sure I saw Ed disappear with a map and a bag of shopping.

0:08:03 > 0:08:06Don't concern yourself - this is not the part of the show where I eat

0:08:06 > 0:08:09a poorly formed picnic, or indeed an audition for a cookery show.

0:08:09 > 0:08:14This is actually a culinary map of the Cotswolds.

0:08:14 > 0:08:17What is it about the Cotswolds that make it is so very desirable?

0:08:17 > 0:08:19It's just a beautiful part of the world.

0:08:19 > 0:08:25You can see, just driving around the undulating countryside, the beautiful villages.

0:08:25 > 0:08:29It's also got fantastic access back to the places that a lot of people want to be.

0:08:29 > 0:08:31Now, we are going to start in the south

0:08:31 > 0:08:35of my culinary map of the Cotswolds, down here - Somerset.

0:08:35 > 0:08:38You would expect Somerset to be represented by cider, wouldn't you?

0:08:38 > 0:08:41They don't allow me to have cider, because I can't be trusted.

0:08:41 > 0:08:46Anyway, we've gone for the other option, which is Somerset brie, which is a fantastic cheese.

0:08:46 > 0:08:48I would say it rivals the French version.

0:08:48 > 0:08:51Now we get to Wiltshire.

0:08:51 > 0:08:54Wiltshire, famed for its gorgeous ham. There is Wiltshire ham.

0:08:54 > 0:08:59Here, with the cheeses, South Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire.

0:08:59 > 0:09:02What do we get? Double Gloucestershire.

0:09:02 > 0:09:06- Are there a lot of people who want second homes here?- It's interesting.

0:09:06 > 0:09:09If you wind the clock back 10, 15 years ago, there were

0:09:09 > 0:09:14a lot of people buying second homes in the Cotswolds, because it's a beautiful place for that.

0:09:14 > 0:09:16But I must admit, over the last five or so years,

0:09:16 > 0:09:21we've seen a migration of people buying their main homes in the Cotswolds.

0:09:21 > 0:09:24Heading into the north of the Cotswolds, we of course

0:09:24 > 0:09:28have Worcestershire, represented by Worcestershire sauce.

0:09:28 > 0:09:31We've got Oxfordshire, represented by this...

0:09:31 > 0:09:33rather bulbous-looking sausage,

0:09:33 > 0:09:36which is an Oxfordshire sausage, which is very, very nice.

0:09:36 > 0:09:38Here, though, we have Warwickshire.

0:09:38 > 0:09:39Now, Warwickshire is represented by a plum.

0:09:39 > 0:09:43It foxed us. We couldn't really find a famed Warwickshire thing.

0:09:43 > 0:09:46If you can think of one, send it in. We've gone for this - plum jerkum.

0:09:46 > 0:09:51It's a kind of cider made from plums. I've never tried it.

0:09:51 > 0:09:54I don't think I want to, but if you do go on holiday in Warwickshire,

0:09:54 > 0:09:56have a sip of it for me and let me know. So there we have it.

0:09:56 > 0:10:00Ladies and gents, the culinary map of the Cotswolds!

0:10:00 > 0:10:02- Hello.- Hello, how are you? - I'm really well.

0:10:02 > 0:10:04I've just met the estate agent.

0:10:04 > 0:10:07I've been telling the nation how they can eat their way round the Cotswolds.

0:10:07 > 0:10:09- Oh, can I do that? - Well, you could do.

0:10:09 > 0:10:12What a yummy tour it would be - a lot of pork-based products.

0:10:12 > 0:10:16Now, property-wise, have you found it easy or not?

0:10:16 > 0:10:17Exceedingly easy.

0:10:17 > 0:10:19Really? There's confidence for you.

0:10:19 > 0:10:23I'm going to start with my one, because I'm excited about it.

0:10:23 > 0:10:26What do you think that used to be?

0:10:26 > 0:10:28It's all I'm going to say. Not going to say what it is.

0:10:28 > 0:10:31Just have a think - a little game to play between now and property one.

0:10:31 > 0:10:37It's quirky, it never really used to be a house and it's very modern inside.

0:10:37 > 0:10:40It's deceptive in all ways.

0:10:40 > 0:10:42- What have you got?- Looks beautiful.

0:10:42 > 0:10:44I've got something that's kind of a bit of both,

0:10:44 > 0:10:49because it's a conversion from a barn - in fact, stables.

0:10:49 > 0:10:55Once again it's really quite modern inside with the most stunning views and it is near Moreton-in-Marsh.

0:10:55 > 0:10:59There we go. Now, the wildcard - everyone loves the wildcard.

0:10:59 > 0:11:05They are selling their holiday property in Majorca in order to move to the Cotswolds.

0:11:05 > 0:11:11They are going to be living in another beautiful property that feels like it's in...

0:11:11 > 0:11:12Well, it could be anywhere.

0:11:12 > 0:11:16Look at that! I'm not going to show it. No. But...

0:11:16 > 0:11:18It's near water!

0:11:18 > 0:11:20Don't spoil it! This is amazing.

0:11:20 > 0:11:23It is amazing. I think they're going to buy all three of them.

0:11:23 > 0:11:24Where shall we start the today?

0:11:24 > 0:11:26- Yours.- The mysterious one.

0:11:26 > 0:11:30You've got between now and then. Here it is again. What was that?

0:11:30 > 0:11:32What was that once? Go!

0:11:34 > 0:11:37Property one is my choice.

0:11:37 > 0:11:41Take old traditional Cotswold stone, plus stylish contemporary interior.

0:11:41 > 0:11:43- But it's empty, Ed. - I haven't finished yet.

0:11:43 > 0:11:49Multiplied by a little imagination, equals this beautiful, converted, old schoolhouse.

0:11:51 > 0:11:56Barry and Bart, walk towards what will become, possibly, your new future home.

0:11:56 > 0:12:02We are in Mickleton. Any guesses for what this used to be?

0:12:02 > 0:12:04A school? A small school?

0:12:04 > 0:12:06You are bang on there.

0:12:06 > 0:12:11So what are your thoughts about living in an old primary school in Mickleton?

0:12:11 > 0:12:14I used to be a teacher, so I'd feel at home.

0:12:14 > 0:12:16It looks warm.

0:12:16 > 0:12:19Is it a nightmare that you could end up living in a school?

0:12:19 > 0:12:21No, not really.

0:12:21 > 0:12:24Do you like the idea of living in a building that has changed use?

0:12:24 > 0:12:27Yes, I do. That's interesting.

0:12:27 > 0:12:29It has a history. Yes.

0:12:29 > 0:12:33Now, the dog question.

0:12:33 > 0:12:38If you had a dog here, I've come up with a name for the dog, cos we've been struggling. I think Seymour.

0:12:38 > 0:12:41Because of your name, Bart, I've gone down the route of The Simpsons.

0:12:41 > 0:12:45The teacher in the Simpsons is Principal Skinner, Seymour Skinner.

0:12:45 > 0:12:48- So I thought Seymour would be nice. - I quite like Seymour.

0:12:48 > 0:12:50- I have a...- We'll bear that in mind.- No, no, no.

0:12:50 > 0:12:56I have a much better name. I'll tell you when you've done your tour.

0:12:56 > 0:12:58- OK.- So enjoy the house and think of a name for the dog.

0:12:58 > 0:13:02- We'll try and think of one, yeah. - Three, two, one, enter that school!

0:13:02 > 0:13:04OK, thank you.

0:13:04 > 0:13:06Are you going to give us any clues?

0:13:06 > 0:13:10No. Well, I'm obviously staying, very cleverly - like you - with the school theme.

0:13:10 > 0:13:14I think mine is even higher-clever, if there is such a thing, actually.

0:13:14 > 0:13:17That's a very clever way of saying it, higher-clever, isn't it?

0:13:22 > 0:13:25My head clears this.

0:13:25 > 0:13:26Very interesting.

0:13:28 > 0:13:30- High ceiling.- Very nice.

0:13:30 > 0:13:32- This is very nice. - Very spacious, isn't it?

0:13:32 > 0:13:34Beautifully done.

0:13:34 > 0:13:36A nice bathroom en suite.

0:13:36 > 0:13:39A nice bathroom, Barry.

0:13:39 > 0:13:40- Shower?- Yes, a very good shower.

0:13:40 > 0:13:44Beautiful. Lovely tiling as well.

0:13:44 > 0:13:47- It's good.- I wonder what's in here.

0:13:47 > 0:13:50- Oh, stairs!- Wow!

0:13:51 > 0:13:53Secret stairway.

0:13:53 > 0:13:55Wow!

0:13:55 > 0:13:57Now, that's lovely. Very, very interesting.

0:13:57 > 0:14:00What would you use that for?

0:14:00 > 0:14:01I guess you could use it as a study.

0:14:01 > 0:14:03A gym for you.

0:14:03 > 0:14:05I would be falling off it!

0:14:05 > 0:14:10- You would anyway!- Amateur dramatics on that stage there!

0:14:10 > 0:14:12That's quite good.

0:14:12 > 0:14:16I wonder what kind of am-dram performances Barry and Bart would put on.

0:14:16 > 0:14:19- Oh, Gilbert and Sullivan. - They could do that.- Yeah.

0:14:21 > 0:14:23Wow! Very nice.

0:14:23 > 0:14:25It's massive!

0:14:25 > 0:14:28Super shower. Look at that.

0:14:28 > 0:14:30God, you'd get five in there!

0:14:30 > 0:14:34I don't think we're going to do that somehow.

0:14:34 > 0:14:38A small window into Bart's world, there. Five people in the shower?

0:14:38 > 0:14:42Well, you suggested two. I thought THAT was...mischievous!

0:14:42 > 0:14:45Five is an outright... I don't know what's going on there.

0:14:45 > 0:14:47- Party!- Party.

0:14:47 > 0:14:48That doesn't make it any better!

0:14:48 > 0:14:52Rugby team. Maybe he's in a rugby team.

0:14:53 > 0:14:59- Oh, wow, Barry, look at that. Now, this could be used as a big dining hall.- Beautiful room!

0:14:59 > 0:15:02Sitting room, maybe dining room.

0:15:02 > 0:15:04It could be either, really.

0:15:04 > 0:15:06- It's super.- Very nice. - I love the windows.

0:15:06 > 0:15:08They've kept the features. Look at that.

0:15:08 > 0:15:12The beams.

0:15:12 > 0:15:13I love the height! It's so great.

0:15:13 > 0:15:16When you're 6'3", it's great.

0:15:16 > 0:15:20- Quite overlooked, though, Baz, isn't it?- Overlooked? Yeah.

0:15:20 > 0:15:22You'd have to put some blinds up.

0:15:22 > 0:15:27- It's super.- Yes, you feel like you're in a village.

0:15:27 > 0:15:31- Mm-mm!- Oh, my God!

0:15:31 > 0:15:34- More space. - This is very nice.

0:15:34 > 0:15:37Now, that is a super kitchen. I do like that.

0:15:37 > 0:15:40Look at the window. That window's fantastic.

0:15:40 > 0:15:45The only thing I would say, I don't like the proximity to the other buildings as much.

0:15:45 > 0:15:46I noticed that.

0:15:46 > 0:15:48But you could get over that.

0:15:48 > 0:15:54- But this is super.- You can grow lots of things in the garden there to start covering it up.

0:15:54 > 0:15:58Look at the whole big dining area. It's like it's half divided up.

0:15:58 > 0:16:00- Very nicely done. - They've done it very well.

0:16:00 > 0:16:04They've really thought it through really well.

0:16:04 > 0:16:07Lovely spaces. Lots of room for our artwork.

0:16:07 > 0:16:10It is good that they have got a good art collection,

0:16:10 > 0:16:14- because there is so much wall space. - It's a blank canvas

0:16:14 > 0:16:19And odd little things - you can plop things here, there and everywhere and it really will make the room.

0:16:19 > 0:16:20Plop.

0:16:21 > 0:16:24Oh, more windows, Barry, look.

0:16:24 > 0:16:25Beautiful windows.

0:16:25 > 0:16:28- Beautiful.- Amazing.

0:16:28 > 0:16:30Very, very, very impressive.

0:16:30 > 0:16:32Shame there's a wall so near.

0:16:32 > 0:16:37- Another bathroom. A beautiful bathroom. - That's number three, isn't it?

0:16:37 > 0:16:39- No shower.- No, bath.- Lovely. Lovely.

0:16:39 > 0:16:41- That's all right. It's a Jacuzzi, Barry.- It's a super bath.

0:16:41 > 0:16:44- You like Jacuzzi baths.- Yes, I do.

0:16:44 > 0:16:46The floors are lovely.

0:16:46 > 0:16:51Fans of Barry and Bart, we have learned an intriguing fact about Barry there.

0:16:51 > 0:16:55- What is that?- He loves a Jacuzzi bath. Who doesn't?

0:16:55 > 0:16:56There's a joke about that.

0:16:56 > 0:17:02If you haven't got a bath with a Jacuzzi function, eat a plate of beans and...

0:17:02 > 0:17:03You know what I'm saying.

0:17:04 > 0:17:07God, these windows. I can't get over these windows.

0:17:07 > 0:17:11It's really the windows - the windows are incredible.

0:17:11 > 0:17:13The windows are lovely, I have to say.

0:17:13 > 0:17:18They're just school windows in that churchy way. What do you call those windows?

0:17:18 > 0:17:20Churchy school windows.

0:17:20 > 0:17:22- Churchy school windows! - Or schooly church windows.

0:17:22 > 0:17:24One of those is the technical term.

0:17:24 > 0:17:26They've spent a lot of money on this, beautifully done.

0:17:26 > 0:17:30It is very well done. The floors are lovely, walls are lovely.

0:17:30 > 0:17:34- I'm very impressed. - But, how much is it?!

0:17:34 > 0:17:37- I think we'd better go and ask. - I haven't the vaguest idea.

0:17:37 > 0:17:39I think we're going to be miles out.

0:17:39 > 0:17:41Let's go and find out.

0:17:44 > 0:17:46Well, gentlemen.

0:17:46 > 0:17:48Super. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

0:17:48 > 0:17:52- Beautiful!- Amazing. It certainly has the wow factor.

0:17:52 > 0:17:54That is good news, because you wanted the wow factor.

0:17:54 > 0:17:56And we got it.

0:17:56 > 0:18:00In spades. Now, this property, it is a school, it was a school.

0:18:00 > 0:18:05What do you think of living in something that wasn't designed for habitation?

0:18:05 > 0:18:09- Great character. It has the quirky factor.- The Q factor!

0:18:09 > 0:18:11Some of the rooms are super.

0:18:11 > 0:18:13That main room was wonderful.

0:18:13 > 0:18:15I'll never bump my head again - great!

0:18:15 > 0:18:19- There was a sense of joy when you realised that. - There was joy, great joy.

0:18:19 > 0:18:24In terms of the layout, I love the way that you're surprised when you come around the corner.

0:18:24 > 0:18:26It was pretty surprising, which is nice. I like that.

0:18:26 > 0:18:29- We're stumbling toward a tricky part of the programme.- I know.

0:18:29 > 0:18:33In your price bracket it's impossible in the guess-the-price world.

0:18:33 > 0:18:36It is, totally. I have no idea.

0:18:36 > 0:18:38Nikki, it's up to you to choose who goes first.

0:18:38 > 0:18:40Barry, would you like to go first?

0:18:40 > 0:18:42I'd say about 575.

0:18:42 > 0:18:44OK.

0:18:44 > 0:18:48I think, because of the quality and the uniqueness, it's a bit more.

0:18:48 > 0:18:51I'd go for 635.

0:18:51 > 0:18:53It's happened again.

0:18:53 > 0:18:57It's very hard to do it, but, Barry, you are miles out.

0:18:57 > 0:19:01- Am I really? - You're miles out as well, Bart.

0:19:01 > 0:19:03But, Bart, you are the closest.

0:19:03 > 0:19:05- 750?- That's a better guess!

0:19:05 > 0:19:07It's 725.

0:19:07 > 0:19:10725.

0:19:10 > 0:19:14I'm going to try to defend your answers, because you don't know the area. How do you value a school?

0:19:14 > 0:19:17I think it's impossible.

0:19:17 > 0:19:21Let's talk now about the dog, because, of course,

0:19:21 > 0:19:24Ed's named your dog for the school property, should you buy it...

0:19:24 > 0:19:26Seymour. Strong name for a dog.

0:19:26 > 0:19:30- I like Seymour.- That's because of Bart Simpson, the school connection, whatever. It's OK.

0:19:30 > 0:19:33I have a higher-learning name for your dog.

0:19:33 > 0:19:35You do?

0:19:35 > 0:19:38- Discipulus.- Pupil! Student.

0:19:38 > 0:19:41- In Latin!- I'd forgotten that.

0:19:41 > 0:19:44- See?- I'd like to pretend I'd forgotten that!- Isn't that clever?

0:19:44 > 0:19:48- What do you think of Discipulus? - Lovely name, unusual lovely name.

0:19:48 > 0:19:50- Congratulations.- Thank you very much.

0:19:50 > 0:19:53Teach me how to spell it.

0:19:53 > 0:19:56- D-I-S-C-I-P...- Let's do that en route to the next property.

0:19:56 > 0:19:58OK, my property - property two.

0:20:02 > 0:20:07My choice is a bit more open, with sweeping views over the beautiful Cotswold countryside.

0:20:07 > 0:20:10Yes, beautiful views, I'll give you that.

0:20:10 > 0:20:12But it's attached to another house!

0:20:12 > 0:20:15A little bit, yes. But look at those views!

0:20:15 > 0:20:22So, gentlemen, this is property number two - my property, if we are to act like that.

0:20:22 > 0:20:26- Well, for a start, look at that view.- Lovely. Very, very nice.

0:20:26 > 0:20:33You can probably figure out that this is converted - converted barns and stables.

0:20:33 > 0:20:36There's a lot of space in there.

0:20:36 > 0:20:38It looks big.

0:20:38 > 0:20:41Yes, it is a very interesting layout.

0:20:41 > 0:20:43What do you both think?

0:20:43 > 0:20:48I think it looks very interesting. Like the other place, I need to have a look.

0:20:48 > 0:20:50I think it's essential to see inside.

0:20:50 > 0:20:53- I like the location. - It's very unusual.

0:20:53 > 0:20:55It's kind of semi-detached.

0:20:55 > 0:20:58- Yes, I noticed that. - Does it bother you?

0:20:58 > 0:21:00The semi? No, that's not a problem.

0:21:00 > 0:21:02No.

0:21:02 > 0:21:07- I was concerned about that. - No, because of security, if you leave it for a while.

0:21:07 > 0:21:11- You see? There are advantages to that.- Good, aren't we positive?!

0:21:11 > 0:21:13- Absolutely!- Absolutely.

0:21:13 > 0:21:16Bart and Barry, are you ready to enter into the house?

0:21:16 > 0:21:19- Have you got a name for a dog here yet?- I do, actually.

0:21:19 > 0:21:23You give yours now. Well, because of the sheep over there, I was thinking Shep. In honour of Blue Peter.

0:21:23 > 0:21:26- That's a good one.- Or Schlepp.

0:21:26 > 0:21:28Yeah!

0:21:28 > 0:21:33Well, why not schlepp into the house and we'll see you later.

0:21:33 > 0:21:35Enjoy.

0:21:35 > 0:21:38Have you got the name for the dog yet?

0:21:38 > 0:21:45Yes, and I will stay in that higher-learning vein and I will be using a Latin term.

0:21:45 > 0:21:48Brilliant, fantastic - can't wait.

0:21:52 > 0:21:55Nice entrance, Bart.

0:21:55 > 0:21:59Very pleasant. Wow! That's nice.

0:21:59 > 0:22:03Wow, now there's a kitchen-dining-living-snug area. More than snug.

0:22:03 > 0:22:05And a lovely cat.

0:22:05 > 0:22:07And a lovely cat. Where's the cat?

0:22:07 > 0:22:09Oh, wow!

0:22:09 > 0:22:11That's nice, very nice.

0:22:11 > 0:22:13Now, that is just lovely.

0:22:13 > 0:22:16- Yes.- That's the sort of thing we imagined.- Yep, that's great.

0:22:16 > 0:22:19- Right off the kitchen. That's good. - That's lovely.

0:22:19 > 0:22:24Cocktails there, cooking here, food here, coffee there.

0:22:24 > 0:22:27That's quite nice. Mine had no furniture.

0:22:27 > 0:22:32Here, they are imagining using the furniture for a dinner party.

0:22:32 > 0:22:34Nice garden, by the looks of it.

0:22:34 > 0:22:38Not too big, and nice sheep as well.

0:22:38 > 0:22:40Super.

0:22:40 > 0:22:43It's a lovely living room. Look at that fireplace.

0:22:43 > 0:22:46Yes, that's gorgeous.

0:22:46 > 0:22:52They've really kept the old features. It is wonderful. A bit like property one in that sense.

0:22:52 > 0:22:53It is very, very nicely done.

0:22:55 > 0:23:00Barry, a study-sitting area, TV area.

0:23:00 > 0:23:02When you first see the stairs, you think it will lead you

0:23:02 > 0:23:05- to the whole of the upper floor, but it doesn't, does it?- No. No.

0:23:05 > 0:23:08There is so much living space here.

0:23:08 > 0:23:11Super. Very private up here, too.

0:23:11 > 0:23:15The study area is nice, lovely desk.

0:23:15 > 0:23:16I think there's stairs there.

0:23:18 > 0:23:20Oh, look! A fire escape!

0:23:20 > 0:23:22Fire escape!

0:23:25 > 0:23:28- I love that Aga, Barry. - I love the pussycat.

0:23:28 > 0:23:29You're a sweetie, aren't you?

0:23:29 > 0:23:32Hello, girl!

0:23:32 > 0:23:33Does the cat come with it, Ed?

0:23:33 > 0:23:36Negotiable, I believe.

0:23:36 > 0:23:39There are other stairs there. I didn't realise that before.

0:23:39 > 0:23:43I'd forgotten anyway. Now, what's this here?

0:23:43 > 0:23:46- A huge room.- It's a lovely room.

0:23:47 > 0:23:50That's not exactly a small bedroom, is it, Baz?

0:23:50 > 0:23:53That's amazing. Beautiful room. Huge!

0:23:55 > 0:23:56It's like a hangar!

0:23:58 > 0:24:00And the en suite there - perfect.

0:24:00 > 0:24:03It just shows it still has lots of space.

0:24:03 > 0:24:05A good shower, that's important.

0:24:05 > 0:24:07No bath, but that doesn't matter.

0:24:07 > 0:24:10- A lovely big shower.- Super shower.

0:24:10 > 0:24:14So they are slightly concerned they haven't seen a bath yet.

0:24:14 > 0:24:15- Should they be concerned?- No.

0:24:15 > 0:24:18There's lots of natural light here, isn't there?

0:24:22 > 0:24:25- There's your bath.- Great, isn't it?

0:24:25 > 0:24:27A lovely bath, Barry.

0:24:27 > 0:24:29- Great.- Beautiful, free standing.

0:24:29 > 0:24:32Yes, it's super, a super bathroom.

0:24:32 > 0:24:34It goes on and on, doesn't it?

0:24:34 > 0:24:37- Very, very nice. - Look at this - wall cupboards.

0:24:37 > 0:24:39Cupboard space - that's important.

0:24:39 > 0:24:45- Beautifully done, very nice.- Look at the view, there - it's stunning. Just like a painting, really.- It is.

0:24:45 > 0:24:47- Look at that.- Yes, it is.

0:24:47 > 0:24:51Beautiful, lovely.

0:24:51 > 0:24:55- Good God.- Well, I don't believe it.

0:24:55 > 0:24:57- Bathroom number three. - That's amazing.

0:24:57 > 0:25:00A huge amount of room here.

0:25:00 > 0:25:02This is fantastic.

0:25:02 > 0:25:06Yeah, lots of space. Lots of space, you can sit down and read a book here.

0:25:06 > 0:25:09- Amazing place. - Beautifully done again.

0:25:09 > 0:25:12Yes, it is nicely done.

0:25:12 > 0:25:15It's understated which I like.

0:25:15 > 0:25:17- I think that's very interesting, actually, Barry.- Here we go.

0:25:17 > 0:25:20This is another one of the Jack and Jill, Jill and Jack...

0:25:20 > 0:25:24Actually, in honour of Barry and Bart, it's a Jack and Jack bathroom.

0:25:24 > 0:25:28- It is indeed. - Lots of cupboard space again.

0:25:28 > 0:25:29Ample.

0:25:32 > 0:25:35Terrific space, absolutely a terrific space.

0:25:35 > 0:25:38You need a cupboard probably to hang things stuff up in.

0:25:38 > 0:25:43There are so many cupboards here it doesn't matter. It's lovely the way it flows around.

0:25:43 > 0:25:45I have a feeling it's more than we need, though.

0:25:45 > 0:25:50- Do you think so?- I think it's very much a large family area.

0:25:53 > 0:25:54Right.

0:25:54 > 0:25:57- Well.- Well, well.- Well, well.

0:25:57 > 0:26:00- What did we think?- Lovely.

0:26:00 > 0:26:05- Very wow-y again, wasn't it? - Super. Very nice. The layout of the place is stunning. Lots of space.

0:26:05 > 0:26:08Big.

0:26:08 > 0:26:12Those are the likes. The dislikes - very close to a busy road.

0:26:12 > 0:26:15Could you hear the road inside?

0:26:15 > 0:26:18Not inside, but if you were outside you certainly would

0:26:18 > 0:26:24- and in the summer a lot. - Something you may consider to live with, because of the inside,

0:26:24 > 0:26:27or still to think about?

0:26:27 > 0:26:28To think about.

0:26:28 > 0:26:31Because we like being outside.

0:26:31 > 0:26:35Before we play the price game, I wanted to point out two other things you may not know.

0:26:35 > 0:26:40This field that we are backing onto, going all the way down to

0:26:40 > 0:26:44the fencing at the bottom, belongs to this house.

0:26:44 > 0:26:47- Oh, wow!- So it is just there is a bit of land that comes with it.

0:26:47 > 0:26:51Guessing the price. Now, last time it was not brilliant.

0:26:51 > 0:26:56- No, not very well.- You won, Bart, and you were out by £100,000.

0:26:56 > 0:26:58I'm not going to talk about how badly you did, Barry.

0:26:58 > 0:27:03So, we've seen this one, now, what do we think?

0:27:03 > 0:27:07I'm going a bit higher this time,

0:27:07 > 0:27:10but because of the road, not as high as I would have done.

0:27:10 > 0:27:13So, I'm saying 720.

0:27:13 > 0:27:17720? OK. Radically higher than the last guess.

0:27:17 > 0:27:20- Yes.- I'm sticking at 675.

0:27:20 > 0:27:26Actually it is 695,000, which makes you, Barry, the winner of this round

0:27:26 > 0:27:28of Guess the Price. You are the closest.

0:27:28 > 0:27:33You were only out by tens of thousands, rather than hundreds of thousands this time.

0:27:33 > 0:27:36- You're getting good at this! - We are warming up now for the final one you see.

0:27:36 > 0:27:39- Yes, there is a career in valuing for both of you.- I think so.

0:27:39 > 0:27:45So, before we even talk about going to the third property, the wildcard,

0:27:45 > 0:27:49it is my turn to suggest the dog name for this property.

0:27:49 > 0:27:51You suggested Shep.

0:27:51 > 0:27:53Which I think works nicely with this theme.

0:27:53 > 0:27:57Because these are stables, I am sticking with my Latin theme,

0:27:57 > 0:28:00I'm suggesting that your dog be called Equus.

0:28:00 > 0:28:02- Equus.- Do you like that?

0:28:02 > 0:28:05- A good name...for a horse. - Luvvie, theatre.

0:28:05 > 0:28:07It's a terrible name for a dog!

0:28:07 > 0:28:11- You call your dog Horse - that's brilliant!- If we get a huge dog.

0:28:11 > 0:28:14Right. Either way, just get a horse and call it Horse!

0:28:14 > 0:28:19- Shall we go to the wildcard? You're not going to call a dog Horse!- I could!

0:28:22 > 0:28:24And so to the wildcard.

0:28:24 > 0:28:27Now, I'm sure we both agree on this one, don't we, Nicky?

0:28:27 > 0:28:29Definitely, Ed.

0:28:29 > 0:28:33Barry and Bart are buying more than just a holiday home, they're buying a lifestyle.

0:28:33 > 0:28:37We think that this property could be right up their strata.

0:28:37 > 0:28:41Now, then, Barry and Bart, we are at everyone's

0:28:41 > 0:28:45- favourite part of the programme. Everyone loves the wildcard. - I love it.

0:28:45 > 0:28:50Well, listen, right, you have taken the jeopardy out of this, because we were quite nervous about this.

0:28:50 > 0:28:55I think that you either love it and you love it, or you hate it.

0:28:55 > 0:28:56Yes. So far I think we love it.

0:28:56 > 0:29:01- What do you love? Obviously we are on a lake. Yes, the lake.- We like lakes.

0:29:16 > 0:29:18Absolutely right, yes, it is.

0:29:18 > 0:29:21They don't add the -y on the end, I've done that.

0:29:21 > 0:29:25A lot of lakes around here. There are 140 lakes, just over 140 lakes

0:29:25 > 0:29:28some that have developments on them similar to this.

0:29:28 > 0:29:32Some of them have a pastely... It is a lovely area. There is lots of everything.

0:29:32 > 0:29:35- Do either of you fly fish or coarse fish?- Could learn.

0:29:35 > 0:29:39- No, could learn.- In your dodderage, you could become a fly fisherman.

0:29:39 > 0:29:41- How dare you! - It's a long way off, Barry.

0:29:41 > 0:29:45- Oh, I don't think so. - Prepare for dodderage.

0:29:45 > 0:29:49So, we're out, here, we're preparing for dodderage, are we excited?

0:29:49 > 0:29:50Yes, I'm very excited.

0:30:10 > 0:30:12Enjoy!

0:30:12 > 0:30:14- That was very brave of you.- What?

0:30:14 > 0:30:18- Calling them doddery?- No, in your dodderage, it's in the future.

0:30:18 > 0:30:20It's what you look forward to.

0:30:44 > 0:30:47- Lovely dining area.- Very liveable.

0:30:47 > 0:30:48Very, very liveable.

0:30:48 > 0:30:51Look at that view. It is, isn't it?

0:30:51 > 0:30:53Not too big.

0:30:53 > 0:30:59You could sit outside have lunch, dinner, drinks, in the summer.

0:30:59 > 0:31:03If they were to eat food out here on the terrace on a windy day like this

0:31:03 > 0:31:07they should eat heavy food, lumps of meat, sausages, but they might roll in the wind.

0:31:07 > 0:31:11- It is quite windy here.- It is today. - Maybe form a wind break there.

0:31:11 > 0:31:14But, what a place to eat a sausage.

0:31:14 > 0:31:15Wonderful.

0:31:15 > 0:31:18Yes, I like that very much.

0:31:46 > 0:31:48It's very spacious.

0:31:48 > 0:31:51- It's very...- It has a sort of slight Spanish feel to it.

0:31:51 > 0:31:53It does, because of the light.

0:31:53 > 0:31:54Hang about.

0:31:54 > 0:31:59- So we have gone from it's Holland, it's America, it's different parts of America, now it's Spain.- Yes!

0:31:59 > 0:32:04They would know, they are selling their holiday home in Majorca to live here and you know what?

0:32:04 > 0:32:07- This is a holiday home, isn't it? - It is indeed.

0:32:09 > 0:32:10Wow.

0:32:11 > 0:32:15A lovely room, Barry. Look at the view on this.

0:32:28 > 0:32:31- Two basins.- Lovely. Very nice.

0:32:31 > 0:32:36What they're going to discover is that there is not one, but two bathrooms with two sinks in.

0:32:36 > 0:32:41They've got a his and his and a his and his style bathroom twice.

0:32:41 > 0:32:44A his-his, his and his twice.

0:32:44 > 0:32:46A his cubed, bathroom.

0:32:48 > 0:32:52Look another bathroom. A bath, Barry. A bathroom.

0:32:52 > 0:32:54Great.

0:32:54 > 0:32:59- Beautiful.- It's a smaller room. - It is a smaller room, but you could have it

0:32:59 > 0:33:02as a guest room, or a study come guest room.

0:33:02 > 0:33:06- I imagine that is a sofa bed. - In Majorca we have got that sort of thing.

0:33:06 > 0:33:10And again, lovely views. You just look right over the water.

0:33:10 > 0:33:12- Brilliant.- Lovely views. Beautiful. - When can we move in?

0:33:12 > 0:33:15Yeah.

0:33:15 > 0:33:17- End of tour.- That's it, game over.

0:33:17 > 0:33:20- Come on, then.- To be honest, really there's no point... Come on!

0:33:24 > 0:33:27We're going to come back, just in case they change their minds.

0:33:27 > 0:33:29They won't, but we'll come back for the rest.

0:33:31 > 0:33:33Oh, better and better.

0:33:33 > 0:33:36- A lovely bedroom. - Very nice, very pleasant.

0:33:36 > 0:33:39Yes, good cupboard space.

0:33:39 > 0:33:42I just like the simplicity of it.

0:33:42 > 0:33:46It's got a very good feel, a nice karma, hasn't it, Barry?

0:33:46 > 0:33:48It's very stylish.

0:33:48 > 0:33:54- Yes, it's beautiful. I wouldn't want to do anything to it. No. No. - It is nicely done.- Very warm.

0:33:54 > 0:33:57Look, Barry, I see a view coming on here again.

0:33:59 > 0:34:01Good God!

0:34:01 > 0:34:05- Look at... I thought we had seen the master!- Oh, it is just stunning!

0:34:05 > 0:34:07This is the master bedroom!

0:34:07 > 0:34:10Yeah, I can't believe it, it's just...

0:34:10 > 0:34:13Wow, what a bathroom!

0:34:13 > 0:34:16No, seriously!

0:34:16 > 0:34:18I can't believe it!

0:34:18 > 0:34:22He can't believe it! He should believe it! He's in it.

0:34:22 > 0:34:25Touch it, prod it, feel it - it's real.

0:34:25 > 0:34:27So how much, Bart? Eh?

0:34:27 > 0:34:32On the nose, you said beyond budget, it may well, it's really up there.

0:34:32 > 0:34:36- It's a very difficult one. - I think we'd better go and find out.

0:34:36 > 0:34:41- It's a wonderful place. - I think we better find out. Put us out of our misery.

0:34:41 > 0:34:42Yes.

0:34:46 > 0:34:48- Well?- Well, well, well.

0:34:48 > 0:34:51- It was like mind blowing to listen to you.- Mind blowing.

0:34:51 > 0:34:55- Did we sound a little hysterical up there?- Just a little bit, and emotional.

0:34:55 > 0:34:58Very emotional. Emotional people.

0:34:58 > 0:35:00Explain the emotional bit for a minute.

0:35:00 > 0:35:04It reminded me a lot of the Netherlands, the Friesland, the north of the Netherlands.

0:35:04 > 0:35:09Similar to this, with lots of lakes and trees skyscapes and the flat countryside.

0:35:09 > 0:35:12- You seemed to be really surprised. - Not expecting.

0:35:12 > 0:35:15You'd figured the master bedroom was on the first floor? And then...

0:35:15 > 0:35:19And the better one even at the top. It was super.

0:35:19 > 0:35:23With a balcony. A studio with a balcony and a bathroom.

0:35:23 > 0:35:28I felt you would have bought it after you'd seen the kitchen, you were that taken with it.

0:35:28 > 0:35:33- And they you went up and you were almost...- It got better, it definitely got better, yes.

0:35:33 > 0:35:39Do we want the good or the bad news? We've got to do it in a game show format, haven't we?

0:35:39 > 0:35:42- Definitely.- We're neck and neck at the moment, which is exciting.

0:35:42 > 0:35:48Top of the range, I would say about 750.

0:35:48 > 0:35:51That's your maximum budget, isn't it?

0:35:51 > 0:35:55I think it could be a little bit above 760.

0:35:55 > 0:35:58Barry, you are closest.

0:35:58 > 0:36:02And in a strange way, you have done terribly again,

0:36:02 > 0:36:06but, in a great way. So, you have won,

0:36:06 > 0:36:10whatever that means, but the actual price of this property is...

0:36:10 > 0:36:15£670,000.

0:36:15 > 0:36:19So, quite considerably lower than you had guessed at.

0:36:19 > 0:36:21That is unfurnished, but presumably you have got furniture.

0:36:21 > 0:36:28If you wanted to get the furnished version, which is this, £690,000.

0:36:28 > 0:36:31Interesting. Saves bringing stuff over from Majorca.

0:36:31 > 0:36:33Extremely interesting, thank you very much.

0:36:33 > 0:36:35It could be very interesting.

0:36:35 > 0:36:37- There you go. - It makes it more interesting.

0:36:37 > 0:36:39Barry and Bart, the moment is upon us.

0:36:39 > 0:36:43You have to go away and make the biggest decision of your adult lives

0:36:43 > 0:36:48about which one you wish to test drive. I have no idea what it's going to be.

0:36:48 > 0:36:54- I'm very puzzled too. You could be wrong.- Well thank you for the....

0:36:54 > 0:36:56- Head off and we'll see you later on. - Enjoy.

0:36:56 > 0:36:59Wow, who knows what they'll pick, eh?

0:36:59 > 0:37:00Hmm, I wonder.

0:37:00 > 0:37:01HE MOUTHS

0:37:02 > 0:37:07Whilst they decide and do their trial, here is a recap of all of the properties

0:37:07 > 0:37:09we have seen already today.

0:37:09 > 0:37:13In the future will Seymour the dog be taking obedience lessons in the

0:37:13 > 0:37:14back garden of my

0:37:14 > 0:37:18£725,000 village school conversion?

0:37:18 > 0:37:21Neigh, neigh, Ed, surely Equus the dog

0:37:21 > 0:37:24will be horsing around in the countryside,

0:37:24 > 0:37:26surrounding my £695,000 barn conversion.

0:37:26 > 0:37:32Or will Barry and Bart surprise us all and bring Doddy the dog for a dip in the lake,

0:37:32 > 0:37:35overlooked by the £670,000 wildcard?

0:37:40 > 0:37:43- So, you chose the wildcard!- We did.

0:37:43 > 0:37:46What a surprise!

0:37:46 > 0:37:48We did, you're not surprised.

0:37:48 > 0:37:54No way, whatsoever. There is no jeopardy today, you ruined that by falling in love with this clearly.

0:37:54 > 0:38:01- Do we even need to know why, do you think? I think that we all know why? - I think we know why chose it.

0:38:01 > 0:38:03- It has everything.- There we go.

0:38:03 > 0:38:06- It's peaceful, it's lovely, isn't it? - Stunning.

0:38:06 > 0:38:09Before you go in, there are a couple of things that...

0:38:09 > 0:38:13We have had our surveyor come round and have a look at the house.

0:38:13 > 0:38:20It is not legally binding, but it is a good heads up should you wish to pursue the purchase of this beauty.

0:38:20 > 0:38:24The first thing he pointed out is - with this development,

0:38:24 > 0:38:27to get planning permission, it is actually quite intriguing,

0:38:27 > 0:38:32you can only live here for 11 months of the year.

0:38:32 > 0:38:35You are spending a lot of money. Does that bother you?

0:38:35 > 0:38:37Not at all.

0:38:37 > 0:38:40- Wow, OK, I thought that may concern you.- No!

0:38:40 > 0:38:45The only other thing is, so, timber cladding, wooden cladding.

0:38:45 > 0:38:49He was concerned about what type of wood this may be.

0:38:49 > 0:38:52He suspects it may be cedar.

0:38:52 > 0:38:56If it is cedar, you are laughing for the rest of the house's life,

0:38:56 > 0:38:59as it has an ability with its own oils to protect itself.

0:38:59 > 0:39:02If it is not cedar. which you can find out,

0:39:02 > 0:39:08then it may be that you at some point will have to re-do all of the woodwork.

0:39:08 > 0:39:11It looks very well finished to me.

0:39:11 > 0:39:14Well, we have to ask this before the test-drive commences.

0:39:14 > 0:39:18Would you still like to test-drive this particular vehicle? Because you could say no.

0:39:18 > 0:39:21We'd panic. We would have to call the next programme and start early.

0:39:21 > 0:39:28- You don't think we are going to say no.- I don't believe you are.- We'd love to.- Alright.- Enjoy!- Go! Enjoy!

0:39:32 > 0:39:36Well, I must say, these guys know how to do things with style.

0:39:36 > 0:39:39Hang on a minute, is that bubbly? Where's ours?

0:39:43 > 0:39:46Cheers. Great. Here's to it.

0:39:46 > 0:39:51No, no, Nicky. If we were there we'd ruin this idyllic lifestyle that Barry and Bart are test-driving.

0:39:53 > 0:39:56They would be amazing, the sunsets here, I think.

0:39:56 > 0:40:00With this beautiful setting, I imagine it won't be such a wrench for them to leave Majorca.

0:40:00 > 0:40:02- Watch a bit of telly?- Why not?

0:40:07 > 0:40:09Who is that handsome devil on the telly?

0:40:09 > 0:40:13Ed, is that the only coat you own?

0:40:13 > 0:40:15- Well cheers then.- Cheers.

0:40:15 > 0:40:17Here's hoping.

0:40:21 > 0:40:27Barry and Bart! You have test-drunk your way around the test-drive!

0:40:27 > 0:40:29- We have.- It would seem.

0:40:29 > 0:40:33- But that is part of the lifestyle here, isn't it?- It is...

0:40:33 > 0:40:38You are imagining yourself in this, I mean look, the sun is coming through the window.

0:40:38 > 0:40:40It is lovely. How has it felt?

0:40:40 > 0:40:43- Wonderful.- And it's still wonderful? - Very comfortable, very lovely.

0:40:43 > 0:40:46Very homely. Very nice indeed.

0:40:46 > 0:40:48Lovely and spacious without being too big.

0:40:50 > 0:40:53The outside decking and the terrace really is fantastic.

0:40:53 > 0:40:57Can you see yourself here on a summer's evening with the sun going down?

0:40:57 > 0:41:00- I think...- Have you flash forwarded seasonal as well?

0:41:00 > 0:41:04- I have.- Absolutely.- I have. - Beautiful, it is spot on.

0:41:04 > 0:41:08Part of the deal when we were playing guess the price way back when,

0:41:08 > 0:41:12there were two prices for this, one with it fully furnished, one without it being furnished.

0:41:12 > 0:41:17So you have had go and you have experienced the furniture, so we are test-driving your sofa.

0:41:17 > 0:41:20- You are.- What did you think about that concept?

0:41:20 > 0:41:23Do you like the way it's furnished? Is it worth it to you?

0:41:23 > 0:41:28- I think so. What do you think, Bart? - Yeah.- The furnishings are very nice.

0:41:28 > 0:41:32- We probably would have done it the same way.- Almost certainly. So it really is....

0:41:32 > 0:41:35- A bit scary, really.- It is scary.

0:41:35 > 0:41:39- Well this is scary.- This is right. I feel this is right. Yes.

0:41:39 > 0:41:44- You know what? We could talk for a while, but really we need the answer, I think.- Yes.

0:41:44 > 0:41:47- I have to ask.- Let's do it, come on.

0:41:47 > 0:41:51Bart and Barry, To Buy Or Not To Buy?

0:41:51 > 0:41:54- To buy!- Wow!

0:41:54 > 0:41:57That is not, "I want to think about it" it's a to buy!

0:41:57 > 0:42:00It is to buy. All things being equal, to buy.

0:42:00 > 0:42:06We are buying the place. And one of the things that was going to happen was an animal was

0:42:06 > 0:42:12going to be brought into the world and would live here with you, so can we have a definitive name now?

0:42:12 > 0:42:16I think Bernard. I like the name Bernard.

0:42:16 > 0:42:19- After all that! After all that. - We were so clever.

0:42:19 > 0:42:22I did Discipulus for the school, I did Equus for the stable.

0:42:22 > 0:42:26I will let Bart have the last word, what do you think, Bart?

0:42:26 > 0:42:29Bernard it is, otherwise my life would be hell.

0:42:29 > 0:42:32- Well, it is very helpful to some people.- So it's Bernard!

0:42:32 > 0:42:38- Well, we are off. You go buy Bernard and we'll see you later. - We will indeed. Well done.

0:42:38 > 0:42:40- Thank you very much.- Thanks, bye.
