:00:09. > :00:15.Our golfing giants have been the main attraction of on the

:00:15. > :00:21.spectacular north coast this week. A stunning backdrop for the long

:00:21. > :00:25.awaited return of the Irish open to Port Rush. Padraig Harrington leads

:00:25. > :00:31.the Irish challenge, as he's back in form and back in contention to

:00:31. > :00:36.win in the first time in four years. His victory at Celtic Manor was

:00:36. > :00:45.very special, and he's in contention again. It's my favourite

:00:45. > :00:52.golf course on the planet. It's as close to feeling like a major as

:00:52. > :00:56.you can get. Nothing can compare with the first time that I won the

:00:56. > :01:02.Irish Open, but coming down the last with a chance of winning, it

:01:02. > :01:07.will feel like the first time I won the Irish open. Two men start the

:01:07. > :01:17.last day ahead of him. Anthony Wall, who's trying to continue a good run

:01:17. > :01:25.

:01:25. > :01:34.of form for the English at the Irish Open. He has a connection to

:01:34. > :01:43.Ireland with a ground father. Jamie Donaldson scored 70 in all three

:01:43. > :01:49.rounds. Welcome to Royal Portrush for the

:01:49. > :01:53.final day's play at the Irish Open. This is what it's all about. Who

:01:53. > :01:57.will follow Simon Dyson as the winner of this magnificent trophy?

:01:57. > :02:05.Who were very tears, they will have to battle some pretty windy

:02:06. > :02:10.conditions. -- who whether it is. So far they have stood up to

:02:10. > :02:16.everything the weather has thrown at them. Ireland's for us a call

:02:16. > :02:20.golf fans are having nothing a bit, it is the first time in the history

:02:20. > :02:24.of the European Tour that they tournament has been a sell-out.

:02:24. > :02:34.Over 100,000 people have flocked to the north coast. Summer has felt a

:02:34. > :02:52.

:02:52. > :03:02.It is special, it really is. I was getting great support, that is

:03:02. > :03:07.really appreciated. Everyone's been a brilliant hair, the course is

:03:07. > :03:10.unbelievable, and the crowd has been absolutely fantastic. You are

:03:10. > :03:20.getting welcomed tee the tee and the green, it is a pleasure to play

:03:20. > :03:24.for these people. It has been amazing. When the rain stopped, and

:03:24. > :03:31.they are able to get their umbrellas out of that hands, they

:03:31. > :03:34.were fantastic. A huge thanks to them for all the support. It has

:03:34. > :03:44.made a big difference to all the Irish players, we can't find them

:03:44. > :03:48.

:03:48. > :03:53.enough. -- thank them enough. crowd had come back to support us a

:03:53. > :04:03.through wind and rain. It is amazing to see the fairway lined

:04:03. > :04:05.

:04:05. > :04:10.with people. It is fantastic. a wonderful atmosphere. It is

:04:10. > :04:16.testament to the fact that we have the Irish Open, one of the biggest

:04:16. > :04:26.tournament of beer. It is wonderful to see the Irish Open at Royal

:04:26. > :04:28.

:04:28. > :04:33.Portrush. It is brilliant. -- tournament of the year.

:04:33. > :04:41.It was a wet and windy start to the day. The forecast is for the

:04:41. > :04:44.weather to improve as the day progresses. Joining me is the

:04:44. > :04:53.professional of Royal Portrush. What kind of test all these guys

:04:53. > :05:00.have today? Is was a tough start. This is the prevailing wind for the

:05:00. > :05:04.course. There will be a lot of crosswinds. Experience will play a

:05:04. > :05:13.big part this afternoon. What odds of an Irishman getting their hands

:05:13. > :05:18.on this road the? Rory will be trying his heart out today. He

:05:18. > :05:25.knows he will have to shoot low. I think Harrington has said he will

:05:25. > :05:29.be the man to beat this week, he's in great form. We are standing at

:05:29. > :05:35.18th green. It has been a fabulous and Peter, no doubt this afternoon

:05:35. > :05:40.will be no different. There will be loads of people here today. They

:05:40. > :05:45.have been queuing from six o'clock this morning. They don't want to

:05:45. > :05:55.miss everything later run. It is absolutely wonderful. It is going

:05:55. > :06:13.

:06:13. > :06:17.to be a wonderful afternoon. Let's Padraig Harrington carries at the

:06:17. > :06:25.Irish hopes going into today. What a reception he got out the first

:06:25. > :06:30.a reception he got out the first tee. He got off to a jittery start,

:06:30. > :06:40.dropping a shot at the first. He bounced back straight away, this

:06:40. > :06:42.

:06:42. > :06:48.shot setting up a birdie at the par five second. Graeme McDowell

:06:48. > :06:54.started the day eight shots back, that he got off to way flyer. This

:06:54. > :07:02.fantastic iron shot at the difficult fourth set up his second

:07:02. > :07:10.birdie of the day. The local manor using all his local knowledge. This

:07:10. > :07:18.was for a birdie four Rory McIlroy at the par five third. He moved up

:07:18. > :07:28.to one under par for the day. Best shots so far, probably this one

:07:28. > :07:35.from David Drysdale. His approach to the first. That took him to

:07:35. > :07:45.eight under. Paul Waring was moving up the leader board, he picked up

:07:45. > :07:48.

:07:48. > :07:53.an early shot to move to 10 under. Anthony Wall buried the first, but

:07:54. > :08:03.it all went wrong at the second. He hit two tee shots out of bounds,

:08:03. > :08:07.and finished up with a triple bogey. What a round Mikael Lundberg put

:08:07. > :08:17.together, he birdied the first, eagle this second, and this was for

:08:17. > :08:22.

:08:22. > :08:32.birdie at the third. He birdied the 5th, the 7th, and the 8th. Out in

:08:32. > :08:33.

:08:33. > :08:43.29 strokes, and into the lead. Donald CERN was looking pretty

:08:43. > :08:43.

:08:43. > :08:50.comfortable. -- Donaldson. He produced a birdie at the second.

:08:50. > :08:57.That earned him a share of the lead. Ross Fisher was piecing together a

:08:57. > :09:07.fabulous round. seven under for the day. The leader board was bunching

:09:07. > :09:07.

:09:07. > :09:17.up below them. Time to join our commentary team.

:09:17. > :09:31.

:09:32. > :09:40.walk down and put that in a better place, apart from a little closer

:09:40. > :09:50.to the green. Here's Darren Clarke, earlier this morning. Big support

:09:50. > :09:53.

:09:53. > :10:03.with him. He finishes with a par. There is a lot of sand behind the

:10:03. > :10:04.

:10:04. > :10:14.ball, but it is firm. He can't afford to be remotely flat on this.

:10:14. > :10:44.

:10:44. > :10:54.If he catches a grade or two of on the 5th. Wonderful. He's hitting

:10:54. > :10:57.

:10:57. > :11:07.those irons beautifully. His Rafa Cabrera-Bello. The man from

:11:07. > :11:10.

:11:10. > :11:20.Tenerife. Looked good for a while. Very nice roll. Three birdies, no

:11:20. > :11:23.

:11:23. > :11:29.bogeys for the Spaniard. Now, Mark Foster is playing alongside Padraig

:11:29. > :11:39.Harrington today. Very nice approach here on the fair. Can he

:11:39. > :11:49.record himself with a good putt? He can, you know. It just hung on.

:11:49. > :11:57.

:11:57. > :12:02.Stayed out. Donaldson at the 4th. That's a very in a row for the

:12:02. > :12:09.Welshman, down to 15 under. This is his 254th tournament on the

:12:09. > :12:17.European Tour, he hasn't won yet, could this be the day? Can Padraig

:12:17. > :12:24.Harrington get off 10 under? Birdie opportunities everywhere. He's

:12:24. > :12:34.missed a fair few. This could be a real boost. He's looking for a

:12:34. > :12:44.

:12:44. > :12:53.little left to right on this. This time he get said. -- this time he

:12:53. > :13:03.gets it. A wonderful shot, a well deserved a birdie. This is a Graeme

:13:03. > :13:05.

:13:05. > :13:15.McDowell, towards the end of his round. Made a double bogey seven on

:13:15. > :13:15.

:13:15. > :13:59.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds

:13:59. > :14:09.Lundberg, to match Jamie Donaldson on 15 under. Not as good as he's

:14:09. > :14:11.

:14:11. > :14:16.been so far. Never really hit this one. That was to get to 10 under.

:14:16. > :14:22.He's outside the top 10 at the moment. He's made solid progress

:14:22. > :14:26.today, Graeme McDowell. A couple more feet and Harrington would have

:14:26. > :14:36.been faced with an easy birdie putt. Unfortunately, more they challenge

:14:36. > :14:53.

:14:53. > :15:00.now. And he loves a challenge. is three under for his first four

:15:00. > :15:07.holes. Playing beautiful golf. He says go. And it is gone. Look at

:15:07. > :15:17.that. Perfection. A lot of spin. Another birdie opportunity for the

:15:17. > :15:34.

:15:34. > :15:44.man from Macclesfield. This is for week. Every time we see him he is

:15:44. > :15:56.

:15:56. > :16:01.slightly more conventional, this one. Nice book ends. And as they to

:16:01. > :16:08.top and tail the opening nine of your final round. -- a nice way to

:16:08. > :16:18.top and tail. This man has runs of birdies. By has surprised he has

:16:18. > :16:34.

:16:34. > :16:44.the true way that it plays. Graham Nadal, coming down 18. -- Graeme

:16:44. > :16:44.

:16:44. > :17:37.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds

:17:37. > :17:47.McDowell. The breezes helping him Birdie number for today for him. He

:17:47. > :18:01.

:18:01. > :18:09.is within a couple of Jamie called in beating drama over here,

:18:09. > :18:19.because he likes to tinker with his swing a lot. -- they call him the

:18:19. > :18:57.

:18:57. > :19:07.practice putt any more. Just goes Excellent stuff. He has enjoyed his

:19:07. > :19:28.

:19:28. > :19:34.hill. You can see all of the where that stopped! That would have

:19:34. > :19:44.been sensational! What is going on here?! Mikael Lundberg stuck at him

:19:44. > :19:58.

:19:58. > :20:06.for birdie and joined Jamie him to knock that in, but he did

:20:07. > :20:13.not. He had another chance at number nine. It also lipped out.

:20:13. > :20:19.Things not going well at that stage for Padraig Harrington. Mark Foster

:20:19. > :20:29.had been treading water for the first eight holes. He had this for

:20:29. > :20:29.

:20:29. > :20:39.eagle on the ninth. Would you believe it. Excellent stuff from

:20:39. > :20:43.

:20:43. > :20:50.the Englishman. Ross Fisher, he had 13 under, but a bogey at 17 meant

:20:50. > :20:54.he slipped back. And now to another Englishman, Paul Waring. Seconded

:20:54. > :20:58.to the par-five ninth. He was wayward, and got in a nasty spot

:20:58. > :21:06.and would make double-bogey from there. He did birdie the 10th to

:21:06. > :21:16.get a shot back. Meanwhile, Michael Lundberg on 16. One or two nerves

:21:16. > :21:16.

:21:16. > :22:01.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds

:22:01. > :22:11.be a double. I think that is a 6, 6 sand. Different bunkers on the par

:22:11. > :22:37.

:22:37. > :22:47.under he whiles. Best was. Letter To pretty good life. -- left with a

:22:47. > :22:47.

:22:47. > :23:52.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds

:23:52. > :24:02.then, snuggling into his birdie putt macro. By little to the left.

:24:02. > :24:31.

:24:31. > :24:41.putt bogey on the 16th. -- it is a pity. A good putt really from

:24:41. > :24:44.

:24:44. > :24:54.Lundberg. A bogey, par, bogey finish. A round of 65. A great

:24:54. > :25:07.

:25:07. > :25:11.effort. He sets the clubhouse But if you make a mistake. A lot of

:25:11. > :25:21.it has been averted because the course has been soft and the ball

:25:21. > :25:54.

:25:54. > :26:04.His second drop shot. Dropping back. Losing a bit of touch. Entering the

:26:04. > :26:15.

:26:16. > :26:25.final seven holes. It has been very two shots. -- Jamie Donaldson is

:26:26. > :26:57.

:26:57. > :27:03.right place to be. Padraig Harrington found the fairway at the

:27:03. > :27:13.left-hand side of this. He is now back to 10 under, where you started

:27:13. > :27:46.

:27:46. > :27:56.harder. It is just in front of them. Mark Foster heads the downhill line

:27:56. > :28:26.

:28:26. > :28:32.they're just not going in at the moment. Up ahead, Padraig

:28:32. > :28:42.Harrington for a birdie three. Very good. A good bounce back from him.

:28:42. > :28:42.

:28:42. > :29:26.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds

:29:26. > :29:36.Harrington on 13, the dog leg, right to left. That's your

:29:36. > :29:47.

:29:47. > :29:52.favourite hole. What a good shot. What a pity about that triple at 11.

:29:52. > :30:02.This is Cabrera-Bello. Putting together a pretty nice round, no

:30:02. > :30:08.

:30:08. > :30:17.drop shots. I think we are in foreign exciting finish. Oh, yes.

:30:17. > :30:27.He needs to hit it hard enough, try not to help its, just make the move.

:30:27. > :30:28.

:30:28. > :30:36.Like that. Such a controlled hole, he played it beautifully. Set up

:30:36. > :30:43.the tee shot, beautiful pitch, then that part. I think these are the

:30:43. > :30:51.easiest the conditions have been all week. Foster, trying for his

:30:51. > :31:01.birdie. Getting there, you beauty. What a great comeback. He had that

:31:01. > :31:13.

:31:13. > :31:23.horrible six at the par three 11th. This is McIlroy. Such a beautifully

:31:23. > :31:27.

:31:27. > :31:37.controlled pitch. Cabrera-Bello, at the 16th. This to close within one.

:31:37. > :31:53.

:31:53. > :32:01.Go rough. This to close within two. He hasn't won yet on the European

:32:01. > :32:11.Tour, has come close. He is all the way to 13 under, alongside Lundberg,

:32:11. > :32:11.

:32:11. > :33:13.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds

:33:13. > :33:22.who is in the clubhouse. Ross down, like Foster. Well played.

:33:22. > :33:32.much doubt today would like to see win this. This one forehead birdie.

:33:32. > :34:00.

:34:00. > :34:10.Donald CERN to 16 under. Two clear a five, to stay at 14 under. Left

:34:10. > :34:13.

:34:13. > :34:21.to right for Wall. That's for birdie. To 13 under, three behind

:34:21. > :34:28.his playing partner. What a terrific recovery. Let's see if

:34:28. > :34:38.Mark Foster can make this for the three in a row. Yes, he can.

:34:38. > :34:38.

:34:38. > :34:45.Suddenly they are all going in. That horrible triple at 11, the

:34:46. > :34:55.rest of the card is beautiful. This is at 17. He has not made a bogey

:34:56. > :35:11.

:35:11. > :35:21.David Drysdale. They have all looked for it to come in there,

:35:21. > :35:27.

:35:27. > :35:37.that is a shame. Although sudden, Donaldson is the three shots ahead.

:35:37. > :36:12.

:36:12. > :36:22.Come on Padraig Harrington, follow caddie is happy, and so will he be.

:36:22. > :36:22.

:36:22. > :37:02.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds

:37:02. > :37:11.Let's go to David Drysdale. This slightly better. Back left to the

:37:11. > :37:21.flag. You have got to remember this is a par four, he is here in one.

:37:21. > :37:29.

:37:29. > :37:39.He wants a birdie. What a shot! well played. Donald CERN in command

:37:39. > :37:55.

:37:55. > :38:05.at Royal Portrush. -- Donaldson. has got a chance. Well holed.

:38:05. > :38:07.

:38:07. > :38:17.Zanotti Tour 14 under. -- to 14 under. A very tidy card. Cabrera-

:38:17. > :38:19.

:38:19. > :38:29.Bello with a birdie chance. Great putt. A what a finish from the

:38:29. > :38:39.Spaniard. A 66. A new clubhouse target, 14 under par. Well played,

:38:39. > :38:52.

:38:52. > :39:02.that man. This would be a very good time for Donaldson to make a birdie.

:39:02. > :39:03.

:39:03. > :39:13.Yes! A big cheer for Jamie Donaldson, his third birdie of on

:39:13. > :39:19.

:39:19. > :39:29.the last four holes, he moves to 17 under, he is three macro ahead. --

:39:29. > :39:39.he's a very ahead. This is Scotland's Craig Lee lead

:39:39. > :39:40.

:39:40. > :39:49.coming down the last. My word, what a shot! A birdie finish for his

:39:49. > :39:56.round. An important week for the Scot. Trouble for Donaldson. Forced

:39:56. > :40:04.to pitch out of there, that would cost him a shot. Anthony Wall, for

:40:04. > :40:10.16. That took him to 14 under par. A very good recovery after that

:40:10. > :40:20.triple bogey. It all meant that Donaldson had a two-shot lead with

:40:20. > :40:25.

:40:25. > :40:30.two holes to go. This is for a birdie four Fabrizio Zanotti. What

:40:30. > :40:40.a round of golf he has played today. If he can knock that one in it will

:40:40. > :40:59.

:40:59. > :41:09.not to go with a driver. I don't think he will like it that much, he

:41:09. > :41:15.

:41:15. > :41:22.has bounced off that bank, a scruffy little live. -- lie. If you

:41:22. > :41:32.can't get up in two, a three-wood, and keep it on the fairway, that

:41:32. > :41:34.

:41:34. > :41:44.would not be a bad play. He has got the driver. Two 60 -- to 60 to

:41:44. > :41:58.

:41:58. > :42:08.reach Big Nellie. What a terrific shot. Well done Jamie. Harrington.

:42:08. > :42:08.

:42:08. > :43:07.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds

:43:07. > :43:17.is an imperious shot from Donaldson. That is worthy of a champion.

:43:17. > :43:19.

:43:19. > :43:23.really was imperious. Well done, Jamie. These crowds are amazing.

:43:24. > :43:31.Padraig Harrington getting a wonderful reception at the 18th. He

:43:31. > :43:41.has been a factor in this tournament since day one. He kicked

:43:41. > :43:45.

:43:45. > :43:49.it off with a round of 67. Followed up with a 67, a battling 72

:43:49. > :43:59.tomorrow. He has had so many chances today, it has just not been

:43:59. > :44:06.

:44:06. > :44:16.working for him on the greens. yards left for Wall. The bunker is

:44:16. > :44:20.

:44:20. > :44:28.off to the right, he only has sides of the flag. Well done and he knows

:44:28. > :44:38.it. They have managed to keep the scores reasonable, even when not

:44:38. > :45:05.

:45:05. > :45:14.where he wanted it. A wonderful birdie. A great effort. Was not

:45:14. > :45:20.fazed. Two glorious shots. A curious putt that did not going.

:45:20. > :45:30.Three ahead at the moment. Anthony Wall has a chance to make birdie as

:45:30. > :45:31.

:45:31. > :45:41.well and get to 15 under. It's good to Mark Foster quickly on 18. --

:45:41. > :46:08.

:46:08. > :46:13.let's go to. Get in there. A good quite all over. A great birdie.

:46:13. > :46:23.is within two of Jamie Donaldson as they head down the last. It is

:46:42. > :46:48.Anthony Waller second spot on his Harrington. It will not be as

:46:58. > :47:08.

:47:08. > :47:12.irony here. He has to make birdie. The way he has driven the ball, he

:47:12. > :47:22.has had a bounce. He is so strong that he Hirons, he can get it quite

:48:06. > :48:07.

:48:07. > :48:16.that. A master class. A little hiccup at 16 just showed him what

:48:16. > :48:26.he can do. With any luck at all he will make an eagle at 16. He can be

:48:54. > :49:04.almost bare. He has come close a few times, and now he is going to

:49:04. > :49:06.

:49:06. > :49:16.get across the finishing line. Many Tour events. These could be number

:50:29. > :50:41.

:50:41. > :50:45.That is how to win a golf tournament. Yes, I did not know

:50:45. > :50:50.much to what was going on out there, I was trying to stay in the present

:50:50. > :50:54.and give myself chances. I did not look at the leaderboard all day, I

:50:54. > :50:59.did not want my score to be affected by results on the board,

:50:59. > :51:04.so I kept my head down and kept plodding along. 250 starts and the

:51:04. > :51:08.European Tour, has it been worth the wait for that first victory?

:51:08. > :51:13.has been incredible. It has not sunk in yet. I am still in a cold

:51:13. > :51:18.frame of mind. Incredible to win on such an amazing golf course in

:51:18. > :51:23.front of such an incredible crowd. Such a great country. Really,

:51:23. > :51:27.really happy. How were impressed at the been with Royal Portrush this

:51:27. > :51:32.week and the tournament over all? Are it is as good a course as we

:51:32. > :51:36.ever played. It is as good as any cause in the world. I do not think

:51:36. > :51:39.I have played and enjoyed such a golf course as much as this. It has

:51:39. > :51:43.been a pleasure to play golf here. We were lucky with the weather

:51:43. > :51:51.during the week. It has been nicer in the afternoons when we were

:51:51. > :51:56.playing. I am thrilled. Time to receive the trophy. He is in the

:51:56. > :52:00.company of George O'Grady from the European Tour and Arlene Foster

:52:00. > :52:07.from the Northern Ireland executive. We are all delighted that this is

:52:07. > :52:10.your first victory at Royal Portrush, and a great place for

:52:10. > :52:20.your first victory, and may at present you with this trophy.

:52:20. > :52:20.

:52:20. > :52:26.you. Jamie Donaldson, the 2012 champion,

:52:26. > :52:32.and I have to say, a very, very worthy winner. Yes, he's certainly

:52:32. > :52:37.went out and won the event. He has waited a long time for it to come,

:52:37. > :52:42.and it was fantastic today and he finished in great style on the 18th

:52:42. > :52:47.with a superb birdie. At quite fitting, years from Macclesfield, a

:52:47. > :52:52.big connection with Y Portrush. Fred Daly that won the Open

:52:52. > :52:57.Championship here, he was born in Macclesfield, 20 used to play at

:52:57. > :53:01.the golf Tour, he used to base himself at Macclesfield and

:53:01. > :53:05.practise their and he was a great friend of Macclesfield golf club

:53:05. > :53:09.over the years. And for the Irish golfer has year, it was a case of

:53:09. > :53:14.what might have been? Yes, they will all draw from it going forward

:53:14. > :53:20.to the Open Championship in a few weeks' time. Rory, in particular,

:53:20. > :53:26.getting some confidence back. Graham and Clare Spottiswoode and

:53:26. > :53:30.Darren, they will all make a big charged for live and St Ann's. --

:53:30. > :53:37.and Padraig Harrington. Let's hear what the golfers have made of this

:53:37. > :53:41.weekend. It has been fantastic. The crowds have welcomed us all onto

:53:41. > :53:46.every green and it has been a huge amount of pride. I have talked

:53:46. > :53:50.about how proud I am of this place all week end of the tournament. It

:53:50. > :53:53.has been a massive success, talking about the logistics, the

:53:53. > :53:57.transportation, the way the Transport and the tournament has

:53:57. > :54:04.been run. Every have any chance of getting the Open championship at

:54:04. > :54:08.Royal Portrush, we had a successful week, we have proven that it can

:54:08. > :54:14.handle the size of a crowd, and we have stated our case. We have one

:54:14. > :54:18.of the best golf courses and the world and we can get the job done.

:54:18. > :54:23.It is a tough decision, the Open Championships, it is such a huge

:54:23. > :54:31.commercial animal. Whether Portrush fits the Bill and he more or not,

:54:31. > :54:35.who knows? But we know we can do it. It has been incredible. It has been

:54:35. > :54:40.way beyond my expectations and a lot of people's expectations. A lot

:54:40. > :54:44.of the book came out to support the event and the players. It is

:54:44. > :54:49.incredible to be part of and to be able to have an event like this

:54:49. > :54:54.come to Northern Ireland, it has been special this week. Definitely

:54:54. > :54:58.a Sterne test for an Open Championship and you can see that

:54:58. > :55:03.it can hold a lot of people as well. The organisation, the

:55:03. > :55:07.infrastructure, getting in and out, the police have done an incredible

:55:07. > :55:14.job. Every one that has volunteered, everyone that has helped in the

:55:14. > :55:18.event, it has been round fantastically. I would have no

:55:18. > :55:25.complaints if it was to come here in the future. To have so many

:55:25. > :55:29.spectators, long in the inclement weather, it is sensational. We have

:55:29. > :55:34.a wonderful golf course, to have as many people turning up to wish us

:55:34. > :55:38.all well and watch us all makes it even more special and we have had

:55:38. > :55:42.it at Royal Portrush this week. seems like a no-brainer to bring

:55:42. > :55:47.the tournament back, what you think? I hope that they do, because

:55:47. > :55:51.obviously, we need to know with the sponsors will be, if somebody wants

:55:51. > :55:55.to sponsor it and do not want to go to Royal Portrush, then it is a

:55:55. > :56:03.tough call, but the Northern Ireland Assembly have given money

:56:03. > :56:08.this year to do it and given us the opportunity to do it and they have

:56:08. > :56:17.agreed to switch. Sponsors are hard to come by, so we shall see. But

:56:17. > :56:23.the opportunity arises, it would lovely be lovely to see it back

:56:23. > :56:28.here soon. Is this suitable for a championship? The golf courses

:56:28. > :56:32.fantastic. It is certainly a great test. The area is great, lots of

:56:32. > :56:39.accommodation here. It has the same feel of it as a lot of the Open

:56:39. > :56:42.venues. Logistics, that is not my area of expertise, the little white

:56:43. > :56:49.of warlike and manage, but logistics around the event, there

:56:49. > :56:52.are bigger and better things going on, and that is for others to

:56:52. > :56:56.understand. To have an Open champion juvenile lead, what would

:56:56. > :57:06.that mean to the players and two for the God for the country? It has

:57:06. > :57:11.been here before, it would be unbelievable. Wine that? Choi

:57:11. > :57:16.Deeney, the chief executive of the European Tour and the chair of the

:57:16. > :57:22.championship committee, George, how successful has this been in view of

:57:22. > :57:25.the European Tour? It has been the most exceptional week. It has

:57:25. > :57:32.exceeded all expectations and everyone connected with the

:57:32. > :57:37.European Tour. Everyone made us feel enormously proud. It has been

:57:37. > :57:40.great. Did you expect so many people to come and watch this golf

:57:40. > :57:45.tournament and it has created an unbelievable feel-good factor

:57:45. > :57:49.across the country. The feel-good factor is the one, be good will to

:57:49. > :57:53.come out of this, we did not think we would get crowds like this. We

:57:53. > :57:57.have not had a sell-out crowd before. The great thing about Royal

:57:57. > :58:04.Portrush is we could have taken more. The traffic and worked almost

:58:04. > :58:07.like a dream. We could have handled more successful crowds, more buses

:58:07. > :58:11.and cars, and tumble of course, even with all the umbrellas

:58:12. > :58:18.yesterday, 30,000 people, not one complained that she couldn't see.

:58:18. > :58:24.The treatment of the Spectator was setting new standards. In terms of

:58:24. > :58:28.all the spectators, be respected that. The feeling of coming home

:58:28. > :58:30.and excellence is great. I cannot praise the northern and

:58:31. > :58:35.professionals enough that contributed to making this happened

:58:35. > :58:40.and especially Darren Clarke it tenting all of the planning

:58:40. > :58:42.meetings, cajoling everybody, helping everybody, it has been a

:58:42. > :58:52.gigantic team effort and I feel very humble and certainly

:58:52. > :58:55.exceptionally proud. We have heard people say they would love the Open

:58:55. > :59:00.championship to be staged at Royal Portrush, what will you be able to

:59:00. > :59:06.do to try and make that happen in the future? I have always said to

:59:06. > :59:10.be Team here, nobody should get too far ahead of themselves in terms of

:59:10. > :59:16.wanting to host the European Tour event. With the professionalism of

:59:16. > :59:19.the European Tour, they made that happen here. The or na well look at

:59:19. > :59:23.all of the venues to read the British Isles. They will look at

:59:23. > :59:28.the venues and there is nobody there needs to tell them anything

:59:28. > :59:32.other than they have the expertise. And I am sure they will be

:59:32. > :59:37.impressed with what we have done here, but we will be delighted to

:59:37. > :59:44.look at that with them in the future, if they choose to come here.

:59:44. > :59:47.Well, that would be a tremendous day., George, a winnow the Irish

:59:47. > :59:53.Open his climb back to Dublin next year, possibilities of it coming

:59:53. > :59:57.back to Northern Ireland in 2014, is that true? That is not true, it

:59:57. > :00:02.would be discussed by both governments. Would you like it here

:00:02. > :00:06.again? Nobody could fail to notice the enthusiasm here at Royal

:00:06. > :00:08.Portrush. We want to capture that spirit and playground come back

:00:08. > :00:13.here and I choose my words carefully, as soon as we possibly
