1:13:22 > 1:13:25one of the most exciting in the classical music arena.

1:13:25 > 1:13:28He's an award-winning clarinettist from Sweden,

1:13:28 > 1:13:30but he's won an international reputation for dynamic

1:13:30 > 1:13:33collaborations with orchestras right around the world,

1:13:33 > 1:13:35from Stockholm to Sydney.

1:13:35 > 1:13:38This year, he released his latest album, called Roots,

1:13:38 > 1:13:40in which he explores the origins of classical

1:13:40 > 1:13:42in religious and folk music.

1:13:42 > 1:13:44We are delighted he is here to perform some of it

1:13:44 > 1:13:45for us this evening.

1:18:31 > 1:18:33Originally from Wales, he's a true veteran

1:18:33 > 1:18:37of the musical theatre in the UK and, of course, on Broadway.

1:18:37 > 1:18:40He has just completed a lengthy run on Broadway

1:18:40 > 1:18:43as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables.

1:18:43 > 1:18:44This is a role he really has made his own.

1:18:44 > 1:18:47He played it for the first time when he was just 26 -

1:18:47 > 1:18:50he was the youngest ever to take the role in the West End.

1:23:29 > 1:23:32She's had a long and hugely successful career in opera

1:23:32 > 1:23:35and musical theatre, a career which brought her,

1:23:35 > 1:23:39probably not before time, the CBE for services to music.

1:23:39 > 1:23:43She's released 14 albums, she's hosted her own TV series,

1:23:43 > 1:23:46she's appeared on everything from Loose Women

1:23:46 > 1:23:48to Strictly Come Dancing.

1:23:48 > 1:23:51And we are thrilled she is with us tonight on the Titanic slipways.

1:27:16 > 1:27:21and by the age of 16 was a winner of the BBC's Young Musician Of The Year award.

1:27:21 > 1:27:24But after that whirlwind start to her career she ended up

1:27:24 > 1:27:26taking quite a long break from public performance.

1:27:26 > 1:27:29But we are delighted that 2016 sees the return to the

1:27:29 > 1:27:31stage for our next performer.

1:27:31 > 1:27:34She is absolutely fabulous, Derry's finest.

1:33:40 > 1:33:43Yes, they gave us some real classical fireworks earlier on

1:33:43 > 1:33:46and they're about to do the very same again.

1:36:18 > 1:36:21This has been a year of significant commemorations,

1:36:21 > 1:36:25not least the anniversary of the Great War Battle of the Somme.

1:36:25 > 1:36:31Yes, on 1 July 1916, almost 20,000 men died in possibly

1:36:31 > 1:36:34the worst day in British military history.

1:36:34 > 1:36:38The battle would eventually go on to claim 1.5 million lives.

1:36:38 > 1:36:41The 36th Ulster Division was one of the first over the top on that

1:36:41 > 1:36:44July day and at the end of that first day,

1:36:44 > 1:36:48more than 5,000 men were dead, missing or wounded.

1:36:48 > 1:36:51Communities right across the island were plunged into mourning.

1:36:51 > 1:36:55Tonight, we pay tribute to the fallen, some just mere boys,

1:36:55 > 1:36:58who still lie in those fields in northern France.
