0:44:22 > 0:44:27- Joseph of Arimathea - was a good and righteous person.

0:44:27 > 0:44:33- He didn't agree with the council's - decision to crucify Jesus Christ.

0:44:49 > 0:44:54- ..Joseph and Nicodemus approached - Pilate and asked for his body...

0:44:57 > 0:45:00- Joseph relinquished - his burial tomb to Jesus...

0:45:07 > 0:45:12- It's hard to imagine a more accurate - description of the Easter events...

0:45:14 > 0:45:18- We naturally associate burials - with death.

0:45:18 > 0:45:22- When we peer at the garden - during spring or summer...

0:45:22 > 0:45:24- ..we see clear signs of life.

0:45:24 > 0:45:29- Is it easier to place Jesus - in a burial tomb than in life?

0:45:29 > 0:45:33- Death isn't the climax of Easter, - it is life.

0:45:34 > 0:45:36- The one who died was resurrected.

0:45:36 > 0:45:39- We associate the garden with life.

0:45:39 > 0:45:42- New life and vigour.

0:45:43 > 0:45:46- We also associate captivity - with burial.

0:45:46 > 0:45:48- As we look across the garden...

0:45:48 > 0:45:51- ..we sense the freedom - that is present.

0:45:51 > 0:45:55- Freedom for every flower and plant - to flourish and grow.

0:45:55 > 0:45:59- We imagine a burial as something - that imprisons us...

0:45:59 > 0:46:03- ..but no burial was enough - to imprison Jesus.

0:46:03 > 0:46:05- Jesus is free.

0:46:05 > 0:46:07- He is not buried.

0:46:07 > 0:46:12- He is not imprisoned - by people's impudence and cruelty.

0:46:12 > 0:46:14- He is free.

0:46:16 > 0:46:19- We associate the garden - with freedom.

0:46:19 > 0:46:22- A burial - is associated with darkness...

0:46:22 > 0:46:25- ..but a garden - is associated with dawn.

0:46:25 > 0:46:29- According to tradition, - we associate death with darkness...

0:46:29 > 0:46:34- ..but the tomb where Jesus was - buried is not linked to darkness.

0:46:34 > 0:46:38- That tomb was in a garden - and the garden signifies hope...

0:46:39 > 0:46:42- ..resurrection and a new dawn.

0:46:43 > 0:46:46- Jesus struck a mortal blow - to the horrors of burial...

0:46:47 > 0:46:49- ..and to its imprisonment - and darkness.

0:46:49 > 0:46:54- He opened the door of his life - to freedom and the dawn.

0:46:54 > 0:46:58- This Easter, - we will walk to meet the dawn.
