:23:57. > :24:23.So here we are, joining the man who has just been playing the lead and
:24:24. > :24:29.slot at Glastonbury Festival, minutes fresh off the stage, Mr Jeff
:24:30. > :24:32.Lynne, how are you? Not too bad. I was a bit scared before we went on
:24:33. > :24:37.because we had never done a festival before, in the thousand years we
:24:38. > :24:45.have been going. Except smaller ones. But this one was amazing to
:24:46. > :24:50.look and see that many people. Everybody tells me it went down
:24:51. > :24:57.well. So this was your festival debut? Of this size, yeah. I did
:24:58. > :25:04.Hyde Park. That was the other one. But this one is so big. Why did you
:25:05. > :25:10.do it? He made me do it. Your manager? My manager, yeah. He was
:25:11. > :25:14.going to beat me up if I didn't do it. He must have persuaded you asked
:25:15. > :25:19.why Glastonbury was important. Yes, he said it was in a really good time
:25:20. > :25:24.slot. So we might as well do it, because we had all rehearsed and
:25:25. > :25:29.been doing the tour. This is the 19th show on this tour. So it was a
:25:30. > :25:32.good reason to do it, otherwise it would have meant us practising for a
:25:33. > :25:40.month just to get it up to this level. So did you research it, have
:25:41. > :25:44.you watched Glastonbury in the past? I have seen bits of it on the telly,
:25:45. > :25:53.of course. I saw some of it last night. It makes me kind oh, shoot!
:25:54. > :25:59.That is big, isn't it? At it came out fine in the end. It was fine
:26:00. > :26:03.once I got up there. Quite incredible that someone like you,
:26:04. > :26:08.who have had a long career, would still get nervous. I always get
:26:09. > :26:13.nervous at that sort of thing. Like I say, I haven't had enough
:26:14. > :26:18.experience at those. Most people just treat it like a regular gig,
:26:19. > :26:22.but it's difficult to do that when you have only done one before. So
:26:23. > :26:25.the likes of Dolly Parton and Lionel Richie have played this slot in the
:26:26. > :26:31.past. Their reaction afterwards has been, wow, they have been blown
:26:32. > :26:36.away. Do you share that feeling? Yeah, I was knocked out with the
:26:37. > :26:42.crowd. There were so many waving and clapping and singing along. I love
:26:43. > :26:45.that. As a songwriter, that's what you love, when everybody is singing
:26:46. > :26:52.your song louder than you are singing it. And when you looked out,
:26:53. > :26:56.was there anything that stands out? At one point, I saw a dingy floating
:26:57. > :27:04.by. I saw lots of peculiar things, but I can't play them on the TV or
:27:05. > :27:06.the radio. There were certainly some characters in the front few rows,
:27:07. > :27:12.wearing this amazing stuff and nodding at me and doing little
:27:13. > :27:18.puppets at me. Pretty much only at Glastonbury. Yes! And how would you
:27:19. > :27:21.sum up your Glastonbury experience, being here with ELO? It was
:27:22. > :27:28.fantastic. I had never set foot in the place before, so it was all a
:27:29. > :27:34.shock to me. But I really enjoyed it, and the crowd were fabulous.
:27:35. > :27:39.Thank you for a much. Wellies on an sticking around for the rest of the
:27:40. > :27:45.festival? We are, unfortunately. I was going to take you to the circus
:27:46. > :27:51.field. They will not let me stay. Jeff, thank you very much.
:27:52. > :27:55.What a nice guy, and what an unarguable song catalogue, but what
:27:56. > :28:00.is it about the Midlands rockers that they are so down-to-earth? All
:28:01. > :28:03.the sabbath guys and noddy and Robert Plant, and of course, the
:28:04. > :28:09.great Roy would. Can we have Roy would next year in the legend slots?
:28:10. > :28:17.With all those great tunes? Let's have Roy. We will start making the
:28:18. > :28:22.list. This is your last show. My last link. Thank you for having me.
:28:23. > :28:27.I am still very excited to see what happens tonight on The Other Stage.
:28:28. > :28:33.Excellent line-up. I know Coldplay are the pyramid headliners, but we
:28:34. > :28:38.have LCD Sound system and back on The Other Stage. Looking forward to
:28:39. > :28:43.deck. Also on BBC Four after this, you can see Gregory Porter and Ellie
:28:44. > :28:48.Goulding, and then we are back at nine tonight here. Not you, but us.
:28:49. > :28:53.Thanks very much for having me, and don't forget, you can have a look at
:28:54. > :28:58.the live streaming on our website. We are back here later with
:28:59. > :29:00.Coldplay, on the Pyramid stage. Hopefully, the rain will keep off
:29:01. > :29:01.and
