:19:02. > :19:12.# Ouch! APPLAUSE

:19:13. > :19:15.A sensation, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, strange tore my

:19:16. > :19:20.happiness. Give the people what they want with her LP. Now, look at all

:19:21. > :19:24.this goes on, there's cameras, people, a lot going on, everything

:19:25. > :19:28.about this show is tension and then release. A bit like a beautiful

:19:29. > :19:38.piece of music, a beautiful ballet all here and I'm now with the Black

:19:39. > :19:43.Keys. Great to have you here. You were last on the show in 2010 and

:19:44. > :19:48.now you have really been conquering the world, you haven't stopped,

:19:49. > :19:51.going from success to success, lots of awards, playing the arenas and

:19:52. > :19:55.the records selling better than ever. Is it more difficult with

:19:56. > :19:59.success to come up with new material to get you and the people going?

:20:00. > :20:03.It's harder to find time to get into the studio, I guess. We had to force

:20:04. > :20:08.ourselves off the road basically. It's still fun for us. Running

:20:09. > :20:12.around the studio is easy. Would you say you prefer that? Are you studio

:20:13. > :20:16.animals? That's why we started because we had a cassette

:20:17. > :20:19.four-tracker and we didn't even think about playing on the stage

:20:20. > :20:24.until we got a record deal. That was a new idea to us. It's worked very

:20:25. > :20:33.well because you have got between you various things. Six Grammies, I

:20:34. > :20:40.believe, is that right? Anyway, a load. Where do you keep yours? On a

:20:41. > :20:47.book shelf. The biggest award we ever won, in my mind is still, we

:20:48. > :20:52.won an MTV Video Music award. When they sent it to us, it was made out

:20:53. > :20:57.to the Black Eyed Peas, to me that is... That is good. That is the

:20:58. > :21:01.highlight of awardism! This record you have got is really

:21:02. > :21:06.great. It's basically this sleeve and it's fantastic. Is the idea that

:21:07. > :21:14.you place this on your deck and cut it out? It's based on this thing

:21:15. > :21:22.that was written, which is a hypno disc that you put on a gram that

:21:23. > :21:26.phone and it will -- gramaphone and it will spin.

:21:27. > :21:31.It's supposed to hypnotize you, the pattern. If anybody's particularly

:21:32. > :21:37.sensitive to hypnotizing at home, look closely at this and just

:21:38. > :21:40.completely relax. If you want to give up smoking, everybody will love

:21:41. > :21:45.you, have lots of sex, whatever the thing is, whatever you want, lovely.

:21:46. > :21:55.I think that's worked. Yes. It's beautifully done. It's a bit like

:21:56. > :21:59.the Time Tunnel. Right. So you are playing Glastonbury this year and

:22:00. > :22:03.lots of other festivals and other huge places. Are you keen tourists?

:22:04. > :22:11.Do you visit the ancient sites of Europe? No, just the muddy fields

:22:12. > :22:16.and all the Little Chefs. That really is very sad, soy sorry. We

:22:17. > :22:22.have toured England maybe 25 times and we went to Hadrian's Wall

:22:23. > :22:29.because it was close to a Little Chef. Are you big fans? Our tour

:22:30. > :22:34.manager is vegan. All he could ever eat was Linda McCartney sausages so

:22:35. > :22:40.he made us go constantly. Very nice. There are the Little Chefs really

:22:41. > :22:47.there, you Dow know that don't you? Where? At the Little Chefs. You

:22:48. > :22:50.don't expect to see them. There is a little village near Newcastle and

:22:51. > :22:54.they are all little. Thank you for joining me very much indeed. We

:22:55. > :23:02.shall look forward to hearing more from the Black Keys later. Thank

:23:03. > :23:02.you, Dan and Patrick! APPLAUSE

:23:03. > :23:12.Thank you. Over here, a really splendid new

:23:13. > :23:23.artist from London. Please welcome, Tom Hickox.

:23:24. > :23:30.# Barman, I know you well # You are a kind of crew

:23:31. > :23:33.# You've hauled in halves of ordinary

:23:50. > :23:56.# A seaman on a warship # And I know you don't believe me

:23:57. > :24:05.# Because you never saw it # But I'm fifty years your senior

:24:06. > :24:11.# I've fought waist deep in mud # And I've swum with severed heads

:24:12. > :24:23.in a crimson tide of blood # I told you it was true

:24:24. > :24:28.# The Lisbon Maru # I was a prisoner of war

:24:29. > :24:32.# Caught on the China sea # But never marked as such

:24:33. > :24:38.# Bombed my own country # I was left to swim

:24:39. > :24:43.# Amongst the corpses and the sharks # But somehow I am here with your

:24:44. > :25:01.beer and cheap remarks # I told you it was true

:25:02. > :25:10.# The Lisbon Maru # I told you it was true

:25:11. > :25:16.# The Lisbon Maru It's in the news today

:25:17. > :25:18.# So I would like to hear your views today

:25:19. > :25:24.# Barman, I know you well # You are a kind of crew

:25:25. > :25:25.# You've hauled in halves of ordinary

:25:26. > :25:49.# And legion chasers too # Listen to me barman

:25:50. > :25:56.# Listen to this drunk # I was on that ship and it really

:25:57. > :25:58.did get sunk # I dwroiled it was true

:25:59. > :26:09.# I told # I dwroiled it was true

:26:10. > :26:18.# The Lisbon Maru # I told you it was true

:26:19. > :26:51.# The Lisbon Ma dumb Maru... # Thank you, Tom Hickox.

:26:52. > :26:58.From his new album. That was the Lisbon Maru. We are really thrilled

:26:59. > :27:05.to have these on the show. It was almost to the day that they are back

:27:06. > :27:08.here all that time later. We are going to hear again from Coldplay, a

:27:09. > :27:48.song from their album Ghost Stories. # The call never came

:27:49. > :28:01.# Ready to fall up # Ready to claim

:28:02. > :28:13.# And I'm ready for it all love # Ready for the pain

:28:14. > :28:16.# Meet under sun and # Meet me again

:28:17. > :29:00.# In the rain # In the

:29:31. > :29:52.# Meet me in blue sky. # Meet me again.

:29:53. > :30:08.# In the rain. # In the rain. # In the rain.

:30:09. > :30:14.# The rain. # You've got to find yourself alone

:30:15. > :30:46.in this world. # You've got to find yourself alone.

:30:47. > :31:22.# Injilli Injilli can I sing with you?

:31:23. > :31:27.# About Mr Tembo. # And what he's got to do.

:31:28. > :31:32.# But first I'm going back to the Colworth Road.

:31:33. > :31:39.# To find the mission and help him with his load.

:31:40. > :31:45.# Mr Tembo's on his way up the hill. # With only this song to tell you

:31:46. > :31:49.how he feels. # But to get there he will need a

:31:50. > :31:55.helping hand. # It's where he is now but it wasn't

:31:56. > :32:00.what he planned. # Injilli Injilli we will sing with

:32:01. > :32:04.you. # Just like the TV.

:40:24. > :40:27.riding a stacks and Motown. -- Stax. Gabriele, you have written many of

:40:28. > :40:32.the songs and do the arrangements. How do you approach writing for

:40:33. > :40:36.Sharon? The thing with Sharon, she will not sing a song that does not

:40:37. > :40:41.make sense to her. She will say right away, that don't make sense!

:40:42. > :40:45.So we try to writes songs that might not be something that happened to

:40:46. > :40:49.her or me but it might be. The experiences are real. The

:40:50. > :40:56.experiences of life. How did you hook up? It was about 16, 17 years

:40:57. > :41:01.ago. I was doing a record with Lee Fields and they needed some

:41:02. > :41:04.background vocals. They tried to call three women to come down and

:41:05. > :41:09.sing and Sharon came down by herself. I said, where are the other

:41:10. > :41:14.two? She said, you don't need three girls, you can pay me three times.

:41:15. > :41:20.She came to sing backing and ended up singing lead on that record. And

:41:21. > :41:23.we have worked together ever since. And you have almost stepped in to

:41:29. > :41:33.to the world of music? More glamorous and easy? Don't believe

:41:34. > :41:41.the hype. It is a lot of sitting and waiting. We did all the songs,

:41:42. > :41:46.watching the movie. And zip. But it is a good experience. I've got to

:41:47. > :41:52.meet Leonardo. He did not talk to us but we met him. Leonardo DiCaprio?

:41:53. > :42:00.He was in character. When using character, you don't talk. You don't

:42:01. > :42:04.want to confuse them, but if you are a character as well, you can pretend

:42:05. > :42:07.to be Napoleon or something and have a chat with him. You are about to go

:42:08. > :42:16.on tour with lots of great artists. What can people expect? Of the

:42:17. > :42:20.shows? Dynamite. Total excitement. Sharon always brings fire to the

:42:21. > :42:27.stage. It is hard to describe. It is not to be missed. Not to be missed.

:42:28. > :42:30.I'd agree it is not to be missed. And the record is great and we look
