3:20:33 > 3:20:37Hi, I'm Katy B and I love music. And I'm taking

3:20:37 > 3:20:40a group of Londonderry kids who all love music too and giving them

3:20:40 > 3:20:43an opportunity to perform on the biggest stages I can find.

3:20:50 > 3:20:53We take talented young musicians more used to performing

3:20:53 > 3:20:57in their bedrooms and put them in front of an audience of thousands.

3:20:59 > 3:21:01Big names.

3:21:01 > 3:21:04Big performances. And plenty of passion.

3:21:05 > 3:21:07This is Music City.

3:21:12 > 3:21:16I'm in Derry, which this year is UK City of Culture. This means

3:21:16 > 3:21:19its calendar is packed with world class events.

3:21:21 > 3:21:25The city is determined that Derry's young people get a chance to

3:21:25 > 3:21:27be involved, and have created an initiative called

3:21:27 > 3:21:29The Music Promise.

3:21:31 > 3:21:34As part of that we scoured Derry's schools

3:21:34 > 3:21:37to find 13 keen young musicians to give them the chance to

3:21:37 > 3:21:40up their game. Work with some of the artists visiting this year...

3:21:40 > 3:21:43I'm already...I'm already liking your hand position,

3:21:43 > 3:21:44that's very good!

3:21:44 > 3:21:45How are you? I'm Amelia.

3:21:45 > 3:21:47..and perform on the biggest stages.

3:21:49 > 3:21:52MUSIC: "Lights On" by Katy B

3:21:52 > 3:21:55I love music myself. And as a recording artist,

3:21:55 > 3:21:59I've been lucky enough to be able to make a life out of it.

3:21:59 > 3:22:02# I keep on moving with the lights on

3:22:02 > 3:22:06# So come on play me just one more song... #

3:22:06 > 3:22:07I can't wait to be involved.

3:22:13 > 3:22:15I'd love to be here all year but I've got gigs

3:22:15 > 3:22:18and commitments all over the world - so Derry musicians

3:22:18 > 3:22:21Glenn Rosborough and Jenny Grant are here to help me out.

3:22:22 > 3:22:25SHE SINGS

3:22:27 > 3:22:29Glenn plays in Wyldling,

3:22:29 > 3:22:31one of northern Irelands most promising bands.

3:22:31 > 3:22:34The spark of creativity that they have really reignites

3:22:34 > 3:22:36the spark that you have so I'm really forward to the eight months,

3:22:36 > 3:22:39and seeing where this is going to go.

3:22:39 > 3:22:43And Jenny is a leading Derry harpist and music teacher.

3:22:43 > 3:22:46It's really inspiring to think that these kids really have

3:22:46 > 3:22:48so much potential. So I'm really,

3:22:48 > 3:22:51really excited to see what they're going to come up with.

3:22:55 > 3:22:59Last time I met 15-year-old singer/songwriter Hannah,

3:22:59 > 3:23:02a big personality with a big talent to match.

3:23:03 > 3:23:05She loves performing - but up until now

3:23:05 > 3:23:09it's largely been cover versions of other people's songs.

3:23:09 > 3:23:10MUSIC: "California Gurls"

3:23:10 > 3:23:13# California girls, we're unforgettable... #

3:23:14 > 3:23:19When she played me the song she had written herself, I was blown away.

3:23:19 > 3:23:22# Oh I'm going to put on a show

3:23:24 > 3:23:27# To show you me

3:23:29 > 3:23:32# Let you hear my musical autobiography... #

3:23:33 > 3:23:37Hannah is reluctant to play her songs in public but I think it would

3:23:37 > 3:23:40be great for her if she could get them out there to a big audience.

3:23:43 > 3:23:46As a starting point, I've organized for her to be a support act

3:23:46 > 3:23:49for Derry music maestro Paul Casey.

3:23:49 > 3:23:52If this goes well, there's no telling where she could play next.

3:23:52 > 3:23:55The gig is just two weeks away.

3:23:55 > 3:23:56And I've sent Glenn to break the news.

3:23:56 > 3:23:58So, how do you feel about that?

3:23:59 > 3:24:04Really excited but, like, nervous. I kind of feel like I'm going to melt!

3:24:04 > 3:24:07So, roughly how many songs are we talking about here?

3:24:07 > 3:24:09Phew. I'd say about three.

3:24:09 > 3:24:12Three and they are all originals or...?

3:24:12 > 3:24:13- All original.- Oh!

3:24:13 > 3:24:17I don't know why you're so afraid of playing your songs in front of people.

3:24:17 > 3:24:20It's my own original stuff and if, you know, if somebody was to

3:24:20 > 3:24:23turn round and be all, "Oh, that's not good," I'd be really,

3:24:23 > 3:24:24I'd be really hurt.

3:24:24 > 3:24:26In terms of what you'll learn

3:24:26 > 3:24:29and in terms of the opportunity it's pretty good, up for it?

3:24:29 > 3:24:31- Definitely.- Good.

3:24:35 > 3:24:39Last time I also met 15-year-old Eibhin

3:24:39 > 3:24:42who's one of Derry's most promising singers.

3:24:42 > 3:24:44# He wanted sunshine in his name... #

3:24:45 > 3:24:49He has been given the opportunity to perform with music legend

3:24:49 > 3:24:52Phil Coulter at a City of Culture Concert -

3:24:52 > 3:24:56but only if he can prove to Phil he's good enough to make the grade.

3:24:58 > 3:25:02Did I hear that on a - on a previous airing that you forgot your words?

3:25:02 > 3:25:04I forgot, yeah.

3:25:04 > 3:25:08Yeah, you see, that at the level we're talking about, the level that

3:25:08 > 3:25:12you want to aspire to, that... is unforgivable.

3:25:12 > 3:25:13Yeah.

3:25:16 > 3:25:20In just three weeks, Phil will hear him sing again

3:25:20 > 3:25:23- before deciding whether to let him take the stage.

3:25:23 > 3:25:24# Tonight mmm...

3:25:26 > 3:25:30# Will history provide us...

3:25:31 > 3:25:32# That oh da da da... #

3:25:35 > 3:25:38But Eibhin is struggling to get to grips with the song that Phil

3:25:38 > 3:25:41has given him to learn - accompanied by his mum and Jenny -

3:25:41 > 3:25:44I've organised for him to see top theatre director -

3:25:44 > 3:25:48Caitriona McLaughlin - to see if she can help him with his performance.

3:25:48 > 3:25:50OK. Stop. Stop.

3:25:50 > 3:25:54I've worked with singers before and I've come up with this problem

3:25:54 > 3:25:57because what happens is you get so focused on trying to make a

3:25:57 > 3:26:01lovely sound, that you forget you're actually trying to tell a story.

3:26:01 > 3:26:05- Yeah.- And I don't think you, especially by the way you walk out

3:26:05 > 3:26:08and begin, I don't think you've really realised yet that

3:26:08 > 3:26:10you're actually telling us a story.

3:26:10 > 3:26:15You've come out there as if you were going to be shot, whereas

3:26:15 > 3:26:18you're coming out to tell us that there's a new future for all of us.

3:26:18 > 3:26:21Your voice is great, your voice will be brilliant,

3:26:21 > 3:26:23but you're...you're mixing up all the words as well.

3:26:23 > 3:26:26Like Phil Coulter will... not let you...

3:26:26 > 3:26:28- Rip me apart. - He won't let you on stage.

3:26:28 > 3:26:31- Do you want to do this?- Yeah.

3:26:31 > 3:26:32- Do you?- Yeah.

3:26:32 > 3:26:36I don't think you do. The way you're acting at the minute,

3:26:36 > 3:26:39I don't even know if you want to be a singer. No, seriously.

3:26:39 > 3:26:42I mean, it's like...it's like everything is so painful for you.

3:26:42 > 3:26:44- Everything is painful for me! - It shouldn't be.

3:26:44 > 3:26:46Do you think she's right or is she completely wrong?

3:26:46 > 3:26:48She is right, aye.

3:26:48 > 3:26:53Can you find a phrase, three words that you like the sound of?

3:26:53 > 3:26:55The chorus, the...

3:26:55 > 3:26:56Say the chorus to me.

3:26:58 > 3:27:00There's a bright, brand new day a-coming,

3:27:00 > 3:27:03step out of the darkness and into the light.

3:27:03 > 3:27:05Say that to me and mean it.

3:27:05 > 3:27:06Ahh la-la.

3:27:07 > 3:27:11If that's all we get out of today, you convince me

3:27:11 > 3:27:13that something is going to change.

3:27:13 > 3:27:15But I don't think anything's going to change.

3:27:15 > 3:27:18It's the same, it's not a new day, it's the same day!

3:27:18 > 3:27:21- Is tomorrow the same day?- Yes!

3:27:21 > 3:27:23- As today?- Basically.

3:27:23 > 3:27:25What makes it the same?

3:27:25 > 3:27:28Well, you wake up, go to school, go to bed that...

3:27:28 > 3:27:31- What have I got in my hands here? - Words to a song.

3:27:31 > 3:27:33A song that you're going to do what with...?

3:27:33 > 3:27:35- Perform.- Where?

3:27:35 > 3:27:38In...in venue.

3:27:38 > 3:27:41- With how many people watching you? - Quite a bit!

3:27:41 > 3:27:43- So is that the same as every day? - No.

3:27:43 > 3:27:46So, can you make that line about you singing this song?

3:27:46 > 3:27:50Right... now sing it.

3:27:50 > 3:27:56# There's a bright, brand new day that's coming #

3:27:56 > 3:28:01# May all of our dreams take flight #

3:28:01 > 3:28:03# Sing it out

3:28:03 > 3:28:09# Sing it clear sing it so the world can hear

3:28:09 > 3:28:16# It's a bright brand new day. #

3:28:17 > 3:28:19Beautiful.

3:28:21 > 3:28:25After two short weeks of practice, it's the day of Hannah's

3:28:25 > 3:28:30first ever gig, but even budding pop stars have to go to school.

3:28:30 > 3:28:33So, it's my first ever gig and I'm really nervous -

3:28:33 > 3:28:36haven't been able to concentrate at all today.

3:28:36 > 3:28:41I'm really scared in case I forget my words. Or I forget -

3:28:41 > 3:28:43if I like mess up the chords.

3:28:45 > 3:28:49When a girl is up against it, what she needs is her best friend.

3:28:49 > 3:28:51Catherine comes round to help with the preparations.

3:28:51 > 3:28:54- Are you excited?- A little bit.

3:28:54 > 3:28:57Top of the priority list is what to wear.

3:28:57 > 3:28:59- Hannah!- What?

3:28:59 > 3:29:02You have half an hour to get ready.

3:29:02 > 3:29:04If you want Catherine to do your make-up she has half

3:29:04 > 3:29:08an hour before she has to go - please just wash your face,

3:29:08 > 3:29:11put yourself into some pyjamas till you get your clothes on

3:29:11 > 3:29:12and do your make-up.

3:29:19 > 3:29:23Hannah is normally never, ever, ever, ever nervous,

3:29:23 > 3:29:25so it's kind of weird.

3:29:25 > 3:29:28I've looked in the spare room, I've looked in the drawers,

3:29:28 > 3:29:31I've looked in your wardrobe - now, have you any idea where it could be?

3:29:31 > 3:29:33Oh, look!

3:29:33 > 3:29:37You see, that skirt isn't suitable.

3:29:37 > 3:29:39- It is suitable.- No, it's too clingy.

3:29:39 > 3:29:41- It's not too clingy. - It is too clingy.

3:29:41 > 3:29:42- It's not too clingy. - It is too clingy.

3:29:42 > 3:29:45- Are you going to listen to her? - Listen to your mother.

3:29:45 > 3:29:47BOTH: Ooooooo.

3:29:47 > 3:29:49You are a pair of eejits. I'm going to kill the two of you.

3:29:49 > 3:29:51Go away!

3:29:51 > 3:29:53- Hannah!- What!

3:29:53 > 3:29:56Listen, it's time to go! Are you ready?

3:29:56 > 3:29:57No!

3:30:04 > 3:30:08Someone just about to start their Music City journey is Shay.

3:30:08 > 3:30:11When this 13-year-old kick boxing fanatic is not

3:30:11 > 3:30:14perfecting his round-house kick, he's busy becoming

3:30:14 > 3:30:17the City of Derry's next superstar DJ.

3:30:21 > 3:30:24When you're playing dance music to other people and they're dancing,

3:30:24 > 3:30:27it kind of makes you happy because you know you're providing the music.

3:30:27 > 3:30:30And you're making them dance, and making them be happy.

3:30:31 > 3:30:33Two years ago

3:30:33 > 3:30:36he persuaded his mum to buy him all the latest DJ equipment

3:30:36 > 3:30:39so he could start mixing tunes and playing gigs.

3:30:39 > 3:30:41DANCE MUSIC

3:30:41 > 3:30:46But mum Sinead didn't realise just how loud DJs like to play.

3:30:46 > 3:30:49Shay! Can you turn that music down!

3:30:49 > 3:30:52I'm trying to have a cup of tea in peace!

3:30:54 > 3:30:56He's just raring to get out of the bedroom

3:30:56 > 3:30:59and get an audience up on its feet dancing.

3:30:59 > 3:31:02So far, he's played birthday parties, family events

3:31:02 > 3:31:07and his local community centre but this DJ has big dreams.

3:31:07 > 3:31:10In the future I would like to do, um, something really big

3:31:10 > 3:31:14like a festival, or just play in a really big club.

3:31:14 > 3:31:17Today he's gearing up for his biggest gig to date -

3:31:17 > 3:31:21supporting local dance music legends Japanese Popstars

3:31:21 > 3:31:25at one of Derry's best music venues, The Nerve Centre.

3:31:26 > 3:31:29I'm impressed that Shay is already playing the best local venues

3:31:29 > 3:31:32but I'm even more impressed that he got this gig by just

3:31:32 > 3:31:34going to the venue and asking.

3:31:34 > 3:31:38It's true what they say, if you don't ask, you don't get.

3:31:38 > 3:31:41I was explaining to the man on the counter that I'm a DJ

3:31:41 > 3:31:43and he said, "Would you like a gig?"

3:31:43 > 3:31:46I said aye, and then the rest is history

3:31:46 > 3:31:50And now Shay has got his big gig, it needs big planning.

3:31:50 > 3:31:53There could be up to 500 people at the event.

3:31:53 > 3:31:55Lap top. That's where all my songs are.

3:31:55 > 3:31:57When you're DJing, you have to take a lot of things.

3:31:57 > 3:31:59The few things that I like to do is, um, make sure

3:31:59 > 3:32:03I have everything, you know, a list, check it - put it in me back pocket,

3:32:03 > 3:32:06and when I'm leaving, check it off again, make sure I have everything.

3:32:06 > 3:32:09With everything listed and checked, it's showtime.

3:32:11 > 3:32:14DANCE MUSIC

3:32:26 > 3:32:29Shay is playing a blinding set,

3:32:29 > 3:32:32the beats are right, the lights are perfect and the graphics

3:32:32 > 3:32:35are stunning but there's just one thing missing...

3:32:37 > 3:32:40..a crowd to enjoy it.

3:32:42 > 3:32:44An empty room, it's like...

3:32:44 > 3:32:47just like looking into darkness, it puts you down a bit, kind of.

3:32:47 > 3:32:50You do feel a bit less excited when there's not of lot of people there.

3:32:50 > 3:32:52I'm so disappointed for Shay,

3:32:52 > 3:32:56it's such a shame that no-one was there to see him perform.

3:32:56 > 3:32:59But he should know that dealing with knockbacks like this is all

3:32:59 > 3:33:02part of learning how to succeed in music.

3:33:02 > 3:33:04I remember gigs where I would play

3:33:04 > 3:33:07and the only other people watching were the other bands that

3:33:07 > 3:33:11were playing on the same night! So, you have to think of it

3:33:11 > 3:33:14sometimes as like good practice, because you can think,

3:33:14 > 3:33:17actually, there's no pressure. But you're still in that environment

3:33:17 > 3:33:19so by the time that the people do get there,

3:33:19 > 3:33:20you're just, like, killing it.

3:33:22 > 3:33:24I'm going to make sure that next time Shay performs

3:33:24 > 3:33:27he'll have an audience to play to.

3:33:36 > 3:33:39For Hannah, her first time in front of an audience has come,

3:33:39 > 3:33:41the venue has sold out.

3:33:49 > 3:33:51SHE PLAYS GUITAR

3:33:51 > 3:33:53I'm really nervous.

3:33:53 > 3:33:58I haven't gotten through the whole set list yet

3:33:58 > 3:34:01without like making at least one mistake.

3:34:01 > 3:34:03I don't know what she'll be like when there's a room full

3:34:03 > 3:34:05and everybody's listening. I don't know.

3:34:05 > 3:34:07I just...I'm worried about her, but, sure, I'm always

3:34:07 > 3:34:10worried about her, spend my life worrying about her.

3:34:10 > 3:34:12300 people are taking their seats.

3:34:12 > 3:34:15Backstage, Hannah is waiting for her moment.

3:34:15 > 3:34:19There's nothing I love more than just playing music

3:34:19 > 3:34:24and making music - so I need to not let the nerves get to me, just...

3:34:25 > 3:34:27CLATTER

3:34:27 > 3:34:34Just everything...bad that can happen I feel is going to happen...

3:34:34 > 3:34:36now.

3:34:37 > 3:34:39SHE SIGHS

3:34:39 > 3:34:41APPLAUSE

3:34:47 > 3:34:48Hello.

3:34:56 > 3:34:59# Hi, I'm Hannah

3:34:59 > 3:35:01# I can't sing that well

3:35:01 > 3:35:05# If you told me a secret I'd never tell

3:35:05 > 3:35:10# Unless it was to one of my best friends

3:35:10 > 3:35:12# Let's get off the subject

3:35:12 > 3:35:14# Hi, even I'm all grown-up

3:35:14 > 3:35:16# I want to rock the stage

3:35:16 > 3:35:20# I want to get older but never age

3:35:20 > 3:35:26# And I've slight obsession with a lazy eyed man named Russell Howard

3:35:26 > 3:35:31# Oh, I'm a put on a show

3:35:31 > 3:35:35# To show you me

3:35:35 > 3:35:42# Let you hear my musical autobiography

3:35:42 > 3:35:43# Oh... #

3:35:43 > 3:35:47I am so pleased. Hannah did so well. It was an amazing performance.

3:35:47 > 3:35:49The whole crowd just settled down straightaway

3:35:49 > 3:35:52when she sat down and there you could hear a pin drop,

3:35:52 > 3:35:58everyone was so intrigued with what she had to say through her songs.

3:35:58 > 3:36:02# Oh, whoa. #

3:36:02 > 3:36:04CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

3:36:26 > 3:36:28Class, wasn't it?

3:36:28 > 3:36:31I am on...what do you call it...cloud nine.

3:36:39 > 3:36:42I'm so happy that's over.

3:36:42 > 3:36:45Well, I'm not really. I want to do it all again. I want to do it again.

3:36:45 > 3:36:46I knew she'd say that,

3:36:46 > 3:36:50because performing on stage is such a great experience.

3:36:50 > 3:36:52# And I still suck my thumb

3:36:52 > 3:36:53# I'm going to finish up around here

3:36:53 > 3:36:55# Cos my fingers are getting numb. #

3:36:59 > 3:37:02Music City isn't just about individual performances.

3:37:02 > 3:37:05Everyone will have to work together as a group

3:37:05 > 3:37:08and I have a definite plan about what we can all do.

3:37:08 > 3:37:10I hope they like it.

3:37:10 > 3:37:11'Hey, guys, it's Katy.

3:37:11 > 3:37:14'Sorry I can't I be there with you right now, I'm in the studio.

3:37:14 > 3:37:17'Now, I've been thinking long and hard about what we can do

3:37:17 > 3:37:19'to include everyone's talents and I've decided

3:37:19 > 3:37:23'we can make our own unique version of an iconic song by a local band.

3:37:23 > 3:37:26'The song is Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol

3:37:26 > 3:37:29'and I really want you to put your own unique twist on it.

3:37:29 > 3:37:33'So I am super, super excited, and I hope you are too.

3:37:33 > 3:37:35'This is a big challenge,

3:37:35 > 3:37:38'so it's going to take such a lot of hard work, so get to it.

3:37:38 > 3:37:40'Good luck and I'll see you soon.'

3:37:40 > 3:37:42But I'm not sure my choice of song

3:37:42 > 3:37:44has gone down a storm with everyone.

3:37:44 > 3:37:46It's always playing when someone gets put out of X Factor.

3:37:46 > 3:37:49Everybody keeps saying that they hear it all the time,

3:37:49 > 3:37:50so it's played out.

3:37:50 > 3:37:53It's just a challenge like. Come on you, can yous not...?

3:37:53 > 3:37:55Do you not think you can do anything with it?

3:37:55 > 3:37:59Like, it has it has potential, like. Do you know what I mean?

3:37:59 > 3:38:00- Well, this is... - SHE LAUGHS

3:38:00 > 3:38:05Snow Patrol, has potential.

3:38:05 > 3:38:08The whole point of this is that we don't want it

3:38:08 > 3:38:11to sound like Snow Patrol, we want it to sound like you.

3:38:11 > 3:38:14# Would you lie with me and just forget the world? #

3:38:25 > 3:38:27Eibhin has just two weeks to go

3:38:27 > 3:38:30to make the song Phil Coulter gave him to learn his own,

3:38:30 > 3:38:32but he is still struggling with it...

3:38:33 > 3:38:37# Brand new day that's coming... #

3:38:37 > 3:38:39Blah! Nah-ha.

3:38:39 > 3:38:41..especially getting the words right.

3:38:48 > 3:38:51- Yeah, terrified completely, really. - Terrified?

3:38:51 > 3:38:54- It's going to be awful. - Oh, why are you saying that for?

3:38:54 > 3:38:57I'm going to mess up my lines or something and... Oh, God!

3:38:57 > 3:39:00No, you won't, you won't.

3:39:01 > 3:39:04- Oh, my gosh, this looks amazing! - There you are.

3:39:04 > 3:39:08- Ladies first. There you are, sir.- Cheers.- Enjoy.

3:39:08 > 3:39:11If I need to learn a song, I'll put the song on my phone

3:39:11 > 3:39:15or on my MP3, and I'll just keep playing it over and over again.

3:39:15 > 3:39:17Are you not sick of it by the end of it?

3:39:17 > 3:39:21The feeling of going on stage un-prepared is like torture.

3:39:21 > 3:39:25It's like the most horrible feeling, that you can give to yourself,

3:39:25 > 3:39:28so I just think, I don't want that feeling.

3:39:28 > 3:39:30I want to be able to go on stage, be confident,

3:39:30 > 3:39:34have fun, enjoy it, you know really think about like performing it,

3:39:34 > 3:39:36and think about the emotion rather

3:39:36 > 3:39:39- than thinking about the technical words and the notes, you know?- Yeah.

3:39:40 > 3:39:43'Eating ice cream with Eibhin is the cushy job.'

3:39:45 > 3:39:48I sent Glenn out on a wet and windy mission

3:39:48 > 3:39:50to reveal news of a big opportunity.

3:39:52 > 3:39:54I've been thinking about Shay's talents

3:39:54 > 3:39:56and I think the time has come for him to know

3:39:56 > 3:39:59what it feels like to play at a big event.

3:39:59 > 3:40:02- I told you you'd need wellies.- Yep.

3:40:02 > 3:40:04But if Shay wants to make the big time,

3:40:04 > 3:40:08he's going to have to climb a mountain...for real.

3:40:08 > 3:40:12Shay, we're up a mountain, it's freezing, it's windy

3:40:12 > 3:40:15and it's rainy and muddy. You're probably wondering why you're here.

3:40:15 > 3:40:18- I am.- Katy B's going to explain.

3:40:20 > 3:40:23'Hey, Shay, it's Katy. I'm stuck in the recording studio,

3:40:23 > 3:40:28'but I'm taking a little of the time out to tell you about your big gig.

3:40:28 > 3:40:30'It might not look like much now,

3:40:30 > 3:40:32'but in a few weeks, these muddy fields

3:40:32 > 3:40:36'will be transformed into Northern Ireland's biggest music festival.

3:40:36 > 3:40:39'All sorts of bands are going to be playing on massive stages

3:40:39 > 3:40:41'and you are going to be up there with them

3:40:41 > 3:40:43'playing some of the biggest tunes too.

3:40:43 > 3:40:45'I've managed to get you a slot

3:40:45 > 3:40:48'just before Radio 1 DJ Philly Taggart plays,

3:40:48 > 3:40:50'so there's going to be a really big crowd.

3:40:50 > 3:40:53'It's going to be absolutely amazing,

3:40:53 > 3:40:56'but you need to make sure you start practising right now.'

3:40:56 > 3:40:57So, what do you think?

3:40:57 > 3:41:01- Um...speechless.- Speechless?

3:41:01 > 3:41:02Looking out here,

3:41:02 > 3:41:05can you imagine that this is going to be a massive festival?

3:41:05 > 3:41:08No, I can just see a field.

3:41:08 > 3:41:11It means a lot that Katy B told me that I was going to be playing

3:41:11 > 3:41:14at a festival, because it's something I've always dreamed about

3:41:14 > 3:41:17and for the next four weeks, all I'll be doing is just making my set,

3:41:17 > 3:41:20getting ready, getting prepared for everything,

3:41:20 > 3:41:21and hopefully it goes well.

3:41:29 > 3:41:31For Eibhin, preparation time

3:41:31 > 3:41:33for working on Phil Coulter's song has run out.

3:41:35 > 3:41:38He's going to audition for Phil to see if he's done enough

3:41:38 > 3:41:41to earn his place in tonight's City of Culture concert.

3:41:42 > 3:41:44Ah! How you doing, Eibhin?

3:41:44 > 3:41:46Not so bad. How are you?

3:41:46 > 3:41:50Not so bad, kiddo. Have you been busy? You doing exams and stuff?

3:41:50 > 3:41:54No, I just finished. Yesterday, actually, I had my last one.

3:42:41 > 3:42:43that I should give you a shot.

3:42:43 > 3:42:46When you get that Ulster Orchestra and the Cordella Choir

3:42:46 > 3:42:50and everything else, it's going to be monstrous, all right?
