0:00:26 > 0:00:30Hello there and welcome to the final show from a fantastic weekend

0:00:30 > 0:00:36of live music at Reading 2011 and the last thing we are going to

0:00:36 > 0:00:40share with you is our incredible headlines. The headliners all

0:00:40 > 0:00:45weekend have been fantastic. My Chemical Romance were joined by

0:00:45 > 0:00:52Brian May on stage on Friday, it was a brilliant set. We can't

0:00:52 > 0:00:56forget about the Strokes who were fantastic, Jarvis Koblger got his

0:00:56 > 0:01:01bump and grind on. The old snake hips. You are going to see the

0:01:01 > 0:01:11mighty Muse. But before that, let's have a look back at Muse over the

0:01:11 > 0:01:26

0:01:26 > 0:01:32years, this is their story. -- It all started in south Devon in

0:01:32 > 0:01:37the early 90s where the future members of Muse met at college. Not

0:01:37 > 0:01:41put off by Matt Bellamy's dress sense, he was spotted playing

0:01:41 > 0:01:45guitar. About here where that brown patch is, is where me and Matt met

0:01:45 > 0:01:50and I asked him to join my band. Persuading their mate Chris to join

0:01:50 > 0:01:53them on the bass they formed a trio. Winning a local Battle of The bands

0:01:53 > 0:01:59competition in 1994 convinced the lads they were on to something good.

0:01:59 > 0:02:02Now they just needed a decent name. So gothic Plague and Fixed Penalty

0:02:02 > 0:02:08gave way to Muse. Their early EPs were creating a

0:02:08 > 0:02:14buzz here and across the pond, even the Queen of pop herself was a fan.

0:02:14 > 0:02:19Madonna offered us a million quid then we gave up our day job! Debut

0:02:19 > 0:02:23album show bisz arrived in 99, the same year they played Reading for

0:02:23 > 0:02:28the first time -- showbiz. The following summer, the lads

0:02:28 > 0:02:36headlined Reading's second stage and got a slot on Glastonbury's

0:02:36 > 0:02:43other stage. Their second album, Origin of Symmetry stormed to the

0:02:43 > 0:02:48charts in 200 1 and included Plug in Baby, their massive hit. The

0:02:48 > 0:02:52album saw a change in direction for the band. We found our identity on

0:02:52 > 0:02:56the last tour. Some of it is more uplifting I think, not so sort of I

0:02:56 > 0:03:02hate the world type, a little bit more thought out than that I think.

0:03:02 > 0:03:10As they moved up the chart, they moved up the bill at 2002's Reading

0:03:10 > 0:03:15Festival. The next two albums Absolution and

0:03:15 > 0:03:19Revelations saw the band graduate to global heavyweights. And in the

0:03:19 > 0:03:28summer of 2006, the band fulfilled the dream when they headlined

0:03:28 > 0:03:31Reading Festival for the first time. The gigs just came together,

0:03:31 > 0:03:35everything was just bang on and you've got to bear in mind I used

0:03:35 > 0:03:38to come here when I was a kid. I was looking at the crowd and

0:03:38 > 0:03:41getting such a vibe, there are bands out there from the future you

0:03:41 > 0:03:50know. Having realised their dream, the lads returned to where it began

0:03:50 > 0:03:53for a special home-coming gig in 2009. More than 2,000 rock fans

0:03:53 > 0:04:01queued to get tickets to see local group Muse.

0:04:01 > 0:04:06Hot on the heels of their area, the band released their album which

0:04:06 > 0:04:16went to number one in several countries. They returned and were

0:04:16 > 0:04:17

0:04:17 > 0:04:21joined by a special guest. They are without doubt the power trio of

0:04:21 > 0:04:24their generation. Fine praise indeed.

0:04:24 > 0:04:29Not content with conquering this planet, this year, the band

0:04:29 > 0:04:38announced plans to play a gig in space. But before that, Reading

0:04:38 > 0:04:41Festival. Welcome back the simply out of this world Muse! This is the

0:04:41 > 0:04:45moment that we've all been waiting for. We spoke to Matt and Dom

0:04:45 > 0:04:52earlier on and they seemed really excited off the back of playing a

0:04:52 > 0:04:56great set at Leeds, it all ends here, Reading sorry. This is the

0:04:56 > 0:05:00moment we've all been waiting for. There's going to be flame throwers

0:05:00 > 0:05:06and a lot of lasers and a lot of songs that you are going to

0:05:06 > 0:05:11absolutely love. This is all summer celebration of their album Origin
