0:13:49 > 0:13:52- an amazing tour in the Scottish Highlands and Islands.- Yeah.
0:13:52 > 0:13:55Is this your first proper Highlands and Islands tour?
0:13:55 > 0:13:57I did do one about four or five years ago,
0:13:57 > 0:14:01but it was just as a much more stripped down set-up.
0:14:01 > 0:14:05But this was kind of an experiment where we're taking a show
0:14:05 > 0:14:07that we're about to go and play in really big venues
0:14:07 > 0:14:10and we decided to try and put that same show
0:14:10 > 0:14:13in the leisure centre on Shetland.
0:14:13 > 0:14:15Which is a magnificent venue.
0:14:15 > 0:14:17It was mad. I mean, that was the biggest on the tour.
0:14:17 > 0:14:18It's 1,200 people.
0:14:18 > 0:14:21I mean, the percentage of the Shetlands who came to that gig
0:14:21 > 0:14:22was incredible.
0:14:22 > 0:14:25More importantly, did you fly or did you ferry to Shetland?
0:14:25 > 0:14:26We actually did fly.
0:14:26 > 0:14:28Did you all survive the flight OK?
0:14:28 > 0:14:30Because it is basically a Transit with wings, isn't it?
0:14:30 > 0:14:32It's kind of a can.
0:14:32 > 0:14:35Halfway through the flight, the pilot obviously, like,
0:14:35 > 0:14:39put it on autopilot and just turned round and got a Tesco bag.
0:14:39 > 0:14:41He went, "There's a can of juice and some crisps, just help yourselves."

0:14:43 > 0:14:45It was the best trolley service.
0:14:45 > 0:14:47Never a worrying sign when the pilot is also the air steward(!)

0:14:50 > 0:14:53There seems to be such a tremendous sense of freedom with this record.
0:14:53 > 0:14:55- Is that how it feels?- Definitely.
0:14:55 > 0:14:56And it's a mirror for what's happened in life
0:14:56 > 0:15:00and I think that the whole theme of the record and why it's called Kin
0:15:00 > 0:15:05is that I went through a couple of really, really huge tectonic shifts
0:15:05 > 0:15:06in life that were really difficult
0:15:06 > 0:15:10and it led to a lot of self-reflection and exactly that,
0:15:10 > 0:15:11just ripping everything up,
0:15:11 > 0:15:15starting again, working out why it hadn't worked the first time round.
0:15:15 > 0:15:18There'd been lots of success, but at the end of the day,
0:15:18 > 0:15:20you've got to be happy to enjoy all of that.
0:15:20 > 0:15:24I've come back just feeling much more grateful about
0:15:24 > 0:15:27having the opportunity to be the boss of something
0:15:27 > 0:15:29that brings people a lot of joy.
