0:00:44 > 0:00:45It's over.

0:00:47 > 0:00:48Come on!

0:00:48 > 0:00:51CHEERING AND APPLAUSE FADES

0:00:53 > 0:00:55Today's auditions are all about the voice,

0:00:55 > 0:00:59but style and beauty are still important to our first artist.

0:00:59 > 0:01:02My name is Alice Fredenham, I'm 28 and I'm a beauty therapist.

0:01:05 > 0:01:07We are loving the wardrobe today.

0:01:07 > 0:01:10Are you a big fan of '50s style, by any chance?

0:01:10 > 0:01:14Yes. I just love vintage fashion, and also antiques,

0:01:14 > 0:01:17- anything from the 1940s, '50s era. - OK.

0:01:17 > 0:01:20- Well...- It especially helps the woman's figure, I think!

0:01:22 > 0:01:25I love, you know, Rita Hayworth and...

0:01:25 > 0:01:29those old kind of Hollywood glamour-style people.

0:01:29 > 0:01:32You know, get to dig into a past time,

0:01:32 > 0:01:35and just dream for a little bit!

0:01:38 > 0:01:41This will be the first time my family have come to see me sing live

0:01:41 > 0:01:45- ever in my life.- When was the last time you remember hearing her sing?

0:01:45 > 0:01:46She sang in a school production of

0:01:46 > 0:01:49Joseph And His Technicolor Dreamcoat.

0:01:49 > 0:01:53She sort of didn't sing a great deal in her early teens,

0:01:53 > 0:01:56but then as she's got older, she has been singing.

0:01:56 > 0:01:58And we say, "We should come and see you, Alice."

0:01:58 > 0:02:00She said, "No, no - I'm not ready yet.

0:02:00 > 0:02:02"I'll let you know when I'm ready."

0:02:02 > 0:02:05My confidence has grown loads in the last few years -

0:02:05 > 0:02:07I think that just comes with age as well.

0:02:07 > 0:02:11I've done a few gigs in pubs around London,

0:02:11 > 0:02:14and I've sung at a few weddings in my time, but

0:02:14 > 0:02:17singing to the audience today will be

0:02:17 > 0:02:19the biggest audience I've ever sung to.

0:02:19 > 0:02:24I've not really had a lot of experience in show business before!

0:02:24 > 0:02:26So, erm,

0:02:26 > 0:02:29it's just a great opportunity, and it's so much fun

0:02:29 > 0:02:31to take part in something like this.

0:02:31 > 0:02:33It's a win-win situation for me, really.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38Whilst Alice waits, next up is part-time model Sarah Cassidy.

0:02:38 > 0:02:42She's used to turning heads, but can she do the same to those chairs?

0:02:42 > 0:02:46I'm a part-time model, and I think I do it because

0:02:46 > 0:02:50I just like getting glammed up and I'm a bit of a poser, to be honest!

0:02:52 > 0:02:55When I was 24, I came third in Miss Scotland.

0:02:55 > 0:02:58I wasn't going in to even get in the top three,

0:02:58 > 0:03:01I was just wanting to wear the big dress, to be honest!

0:03:02 > 0:03:05I love modelling, but I just want to be like the whole package,

0:03:05 > 0:03:10and do the singing and be glamorous and dance and do the whole thing!

0:03:12 > 0:03:15While Sarah has time for some finishes touches,

0:03:15 > 0:03:18Alice's moment of truth has arrived.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21I'm hoping that they'll turn around today

0:03:21 > 0:03:24so that they can see, erm, me perform.

0:03:26 > 0:03:30I've got a lot to offer on that side of things, as well as just my voice.

0:03:57 > 0:04:01# I get too hungry for dinner at eight

0:04:01 > 0:04:05# I love the theatre but never come late

0:04:33 > 0:04:34# I love the free

0:04:34 > 0:04:38# Fresh wind in my hair

0:05:11 > 0:05:14CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:05:17 > 0:05:19- Aw!- Aw!

0:05:22 > 0:05:24Hi! What's your name?

0:05:24 > 0:05:27Hi. My name's Alice, I'm 28, from Hertfordshire.

0:05:27 > 0:05:29- Hello, Alice. - Hi.

0:05:29 > 0:05:33Erm, I didn't turn around...

0:05:33 > 0:05:36because there's a huge difference between singing

0:05:36 > 0:05:38for singing, and singing to make people listen.

0:05:38 > 0:05:40- And I think...- Yeah.- ..there's that

0:05:40 > 0:05:43difference of going, "Hi, I'm over here, come and listen,"

0:05:43 > 0:05:47and just kind of singing. And I felt that you were just kind of singing.

0:05:47 > 0:05:50It kind of just felt like I was in a jazz bar

0:05:50 > 0:05:53or in a restaurant and someone was playing and you were singing.

0:05:53 > 0:05:55- You know what I mean? - OK, thank you.

0:05:55 > 0:05:58APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:05:58 > 0:06:01Stylistically, for me, I just felt it was a little bit safe.

0:06:01 > 0:06:03- Yeah. - That was the only reason

0:06:03 > 0:06:07why I turned around. By the way, you're a gorgeous-looking girl.

0:06:07 > 0:06:09Thank you very much, Danny.

0:06:10 > 0:06:14Erm, the reason I didn't turn around is because,

0:06:14 > 0:06:16while you're doing jazz,

0:06:16 > 0:06:20I didn't... It didn't feel like you understood your instrument.

0:06:20 > 0:06:22Like, are you, erm...?

0:06:22 > 0:06:26Are you a trumpet? Are you flute?

0:06:26 > 0:06:30Like, what instrument are you amongst the band?

0:06:30 > 0:06:34"Look - I am the star amongst this jazz ensemble,

0:06:34 > 0:06:36"and this number that I'm doing."

0:06:36 > 0:06:40But I applaud you for bringing jazz and picking that song.

0:06:40 > 0:06:43- Thank you very much. - Thank you. Come down.

0:06:43 > 0:06:46APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:07:12 > 0:07:14Now, Sarah heads to the stage,

0:07:14 > 0:07:17hoping to impress with just her voice.

0:07:17 > 0:07:21This is the first time in my life I won't be judged

0:07:21 > 0:07:22on my looks.

0:07:23 > 0:07:26It's just the voice this time, and that's it.

0:07:27 > 0:07:31As long as I sing my best, that's all I can do.

0:07:56 > 0:08:01# Let me say that since, baby

0:08:01 > 0:08:08# Since we've been together, ooh

0:08:08 > 0:08:12# Loving you forever

0:08:30 > 0:08:37# I'll never be untrue...

0:08:37 > 0:08:42# Hey, baby, yeah!

0:08:42 > 0:08:45# Let's stay together...

0:08:47 > 0:08:52# Loving you whether, whether

0:08:52 > 0:08:57# Times are good or bad, happy or

0:08:57 > 0:09:02# Sad

0:09:02 > 0:09:07Oooh, oooh

0:09:07 > 0:09:11# Oooh

0:09:11 > 0:09:16# Hey, ahhh

0:09:16 > 0:09:18# Good or bad

0:09:18 > 0:09:24# Happy or, happy or sad. #

0:09:24 > 0:09:28CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:09:38 > 0:09:41Thank you.

0:09:43 > 0:09:45What's your name, love?

0:09:45 > 0:09:46My name is Sarah.

0:09:46 > 0:09:50- Where do you come from? - I come from Glasgow in Scotland.

0:09:50 > 0:09:53- Oh, you sound very professional. - Thank you.

0:09:53 > 0:09:56- You did some wonderful, wonderful things...- Whistle singing.

0:09:56 > 0:09:59..with your voice and I don't think I've heard anybody do it

0:09:59 > 0:10:03quite like that before and it's very original. And I loved it.

0:10:03 > 0:10:05I would love to have you on my team

0:10:05 > 0:10:09- and that's all I can really say. - Thank you.

0:10:12 > 0:10:15- I feel like a dumbass right now, cos...- Cos your chair's red.

0:10:15 > 0:10:17The reason I didn't turn around at first

0:10:17 > 0:10:20was because your voice was really small at one point in the song

0:10:20 > 0:10:23and then when you hit that last note at the end,

0:10:23 > 0:10:26that's when you made me feel like a dumbass, so...oops.

0:10:26 > 0:10:29CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:10:29 > 0:10:31You've got absolutely gorgeous, gorgeous talent.

0:10:31 > 0:10:33I think you're a very special singer.

0:10:33 > 0:10:35I need you on my team to go up against these

0:10:35 > 0:10:37because they have people who are similar.

0:10:37 > 0:10:39I don't have anyone like you.

0:10:39 > 0:10:41Stop saying that, it wasn't that hard.

0:10:42 > 0:10:45JESSIE: Vocally, there are two things.

0:10:45 > 0:10:48I can coach you technically.

0:10:48 > 0:10:51I can teach you breathing exercises that are going to help your range.

0:10:51 > 0:10:53DANNY: We all can do the same thing.

0:10:53 > 0:10:56I know, but I didn't sit here and go, "I've done this, and I produced this,

0:10:56 > 0:10:59"and I've been on tour with U2," like this.

0:10:59 > 0:11:01Well...

0:11:01 > 0:11:04I feel like, as a female, it's so important...

0:11:04 > 0:11:07And I've said this a few shows ago,

0:11:07 > 0:11:11they will never understand how nerve-racking it is

0:11:11 > 0:11:13to be a female stepping on stage.

0:11:13 > 0:11:17What's the difference? It's not like you're a subspecies. You're the same!

0:11:17 > 0:11:21No, it's a whole different game for a girl. I, personally, think that.

0:11:21 > 0:11:23The emotional side of it. I'm going to throw something out.

0:11:23 > 0:11:27I think you're going to go quite far in this competition.

0:11:27 > 0:11:30And I think it's really important to you to understand

0:11:30 > 0:11:33that this isn't just a TV show, this isn't just going to be fun,

0:11:33 > 0:11:35this is really serious and it's...

0:11:35 > 0:11:37SILENCE, SINGLE LAUGH FROM AUDIENCE

0:11:37 > 0:11:40It is! What did I say?

0:11:40 > 0:11:42I'm just laughing.

0:11:42 > 0:11:46Jessie will genuinely... You always give that air,

0:11:46 > 0:11:49you're trying to give that air of confidence.

0:11:49 > 0:11:52Just go back to last time, it's such a scary thing coming out here

0:11:52 > 0:11:54to try and sing in front of people.

0:11:54 > 0:11:58Last year, what I was doing was even in rehearsals... What is he doing?

0:11:58 > 0:12:01He's trying to spell "Tom" with his body.

0:12:01 > 0:12:03JESSIE: That's so stupid.

0:12:03 > 0:12:06LAUGHTER AND APPLAUSE

0:12:06 > 0:12:07Hey, Will!

0:12:08 > 0:12:11I want YOU on my team, how's that?

0:12:11 > 0:12:13LAUGHTER

0:12:13 > 0:12:18- Did you come here with a coach in mind?- You, of course!- Really?

0:12:18 > 0:12:21- That's even worse. - Why was it Will?

0:12:21 > 0:12:23Now I really feel like a dumbass.

0:12:23 > 0:12:26I don't know, I just feel like I can relate to Will

0:12:26 > 0:12:29because I've been in a hip-hop group

0:12:29 > 0:12:32and I just thought we would work well together.

0:12:32 > 0:12:36If you were going to pick Will, we produce all the time together,

0:12:36 > 0:12:38we do stuff together all the time. I'm most like him on this panel.

0:12:38 > 0:12:43We can all offer you the best of our ability,

0:12:43 > 0:12:49but that's up you to decide who you think could help you the most

0:12:49 > 0:12:55and who you'd have more fun with during that time.

0:12:55 > 0:12:58I've made my decision.

0:13:08 > 0:13:10I think I'm going to go with Jessie.

0:13:10 > 0:13:14CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:13:44 > 0:13:47So, Sarah has just joined Team Jessie.

0:13:47 > 0:13:50What does the future hold for 18-year-old Emily Worton?

0:13:51 > 0:13:55I'm a bit concerned about the coaches not being able to see me.

0:13:55 > 0:13:59I'm worried they're going to think I'm a middle-aged librarian,

0:13:59 > 0:14:01cos that's a bit what I sound like.

0:16:52 > 0:16:57- But then, that's up to Will to straighten that out.- Danny?

0:16:57 > 0:17:00The only reason why I didn't turn around is because I'm an idiot.

0:17:10 > 0:17:12and play guitar at the same time.

0:17:12 > 0:17:14I know how hard that is, I commend you on it.

0:17:14 > 0:17:16I'm so glad he turned around.

0:17:16 > 0:17:19He was playing tactics, he was going, "I'm not going to go!"

0:17:19 > 0:17:21Three, two, one! He went around.

0:17:21 > 0:17:26So I'm glad, because sometimes Will hears things that we don't.

0:17:26 > 0:17:29In fact, a lot of times he hears things we don't.

0:17:29 > 0:17:31What?

0:17:31 > 0:17:34What? There's a fax coming through. What? What?

0:17:34 > 0:17:39So, the first part was magical. And it was flawlessly executed.

0:17:39 > 0:17:42Then I can see why you wanted to bring it up a notch,

0:17:42 > 0:17:47to show that my voice should not just be heard over merely guitar,

0:17:47 > 0:17:50but I can also hang with the band.

0:17:50 > 0:17:54I could see the dynamics on how you wanted to counter-play it.

0:17:54 > 0:17:58You were powerful in the beginning and you are powerful at the end.

0:17:58 > 0:18:00And you on my team, it's going to be fresh

0:18:00 > 0:18:03because I think you're super-dope.

0:18:03 > 0:18:05Oh, my God!

0:18:05 > 0:18:10CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:18:11 > 0:18:15- Congratulations. - Thank you so much.

0:18:23 > 0:18:26To Will, to Will.

0:18:26 > 0:18:29SCREAMING AND APPLAUSE

0:18:31 > 0:18:35I was a bit sneaky because I told everybody "no"

0:18:35 > 0:18:36just to see if they were going to go.

0:18:36 > 0:18:39I looked over and he was like, "No, I'm not going." Bam, straight down.

0:18:39 > 0:18:41So, yeah, it's on. It's absolutely on now.

0:18:41 > 0:18:44# Secret agent, man! # That was me right there.

0:18:44 > 0:18:48Of all the coaches, will.i.am has come with the biggest bag of tricks

0:18:48 > 0:18:51and tactics and the others know it.

0:18:51 > 0:18:53- You were playing a little game.- What?

0:18:53 > 0:18:56- You were playing a little game. - No, I'm not.

0:18:56 > 0:18:59Will's new card is, "I'm going to tell you who to pick".

0:18:59 > 0:19:01If I were you, I would pick Tom.

0:19:01 > 0:19:03Hey, Will, I want you on my team.

0:19:03 > 0:19:05He loves to go, "Go on, Danny, it's yours."

0:19:05 > 0:19:07So he'll push his button,

0:19:07 > 0:19:10and then he'll go, "I think you should go with Danny."

0:19:10 > 0:19:12The obvious coach for you is Danny.

0:19:12 > 0:19:15He's trying to get rid of people that he doesn't think is going to win.

0:19:15 > 0:19:18- And Danny and Tom have both fallen for it.- I'm not playing games.

0:19:18 > 0:19:21- You are playing a game!- I'm trying to help you make a decision

0:19:21 > 0:19:23and coach you towards a better coach.

0:19:23 > 0:19:28I picked up some tactics along the way, but I'm still tic-tac fresh.

0:19:30 > 0:19:33- REGGIE:- Nick Tatham needs music more than most.

0:19:33 > 0:19:35For him, it's not just a career choice.

0:19:35 > 0:19:38Music is definitely in my medication.

0:19:38 > 0:19:41When I'm playing, I don't really think about it.

0:19:41 > 0:19:43I get so involved into the song,

0:19:43 > 0:19:47and I think that's when the Tourette's disappears.

0:19:47 > 0:19:49So, yeah, yeah.

0:19:52 > 0:19:56Tourette's Syndrome is a chemical imbalance of the brain

0:19:56 > 0:19:59which just makes you twitch mainly,

0:19:59 > 0:20:02or physical tics,

0:20:02 > 0:20:04like I'm doing now actually!

0:20:04 > 0:20:08That's basically as much as I know!

0:20:10 > 0:20:13School, growing up, was quite a bad time for me.

0:20:13 > 0:20:15I just got bullied and stuff.

0:20:15 > 0:20:19I think people in those days didn't understand.

0:20:19 > 0:20:23I found that the main thing that really got me through

0:20:23 > 0:20:27my Tourette's and my bad time having it as a child, was my music.

0:20:29 > 0:20:34Tourette's makes me who I am. Nothing's going to change that.

0:20:38 > 0:20:41Come on, Nick.

0:20:44 > 0:20:47It's always going to be there, and I want it to be there,

0:20:47 > 0:20:49because it's part of me now.

0:20:49 > 0:20:52If people can't except that, well, tough.

0:21:01 > 0:21:06HE BEATBOXES

0:21:13 > 0:21:15# Been working so hard

0:21:15 > 0:21:18# I'm punching my card

0:21:18 > 0:21:20# Eight hours for what

0:21:20 > 0:21:23# Don't tell me what I got

0:21:23 > 0:21:25# I'll hit the ceiling

0:21:25 > 0:21:30# Or else I'll tear up this town

0:21:32 > 0:21:35# Tonight I'm gotta cut loose, footloose

0:21:35 > 0:21:38# Kick off the Sunday shoes

0:21:38 > 0:21:43# Please, Louise, pull me off of my knees

0:21:43 > 0:21:48# Jack, get back Come on before we crack

0:21:48 > 0:21:50# Everybody, come on

0:21:50 > 0:21:53# You've got to turn me around

0:21:53 > 0:21:55# And put your feet on the ground

0:21:55 > 0:21:57# Now take a take the hold of my soul

0:21:57 > 0:22:04# Ohhhhh

0:22:04 > 0:22:06# Woah!

0:22:06 > 0:22:08# Everybody cut footloose! #

0:22:08 > 0:22:11CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:22:23 > 0:22:26- Hi!- Hello. I- was dancing.

0:22:26 > 0:22:30- I enjoyed it, it just wasn't my cup of tea.- That's all right, cool.

0:22:30 > 0:22:34As a coach, I don't feel I would be right for you.

0:22:34 > 0:22:36I was looking over to Danny and William.

0:22:36 > 0:22:41I was going, "go on". You have a good voice, it's just not for me.

0:22:41 > 0:22:43CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:22:43 > 0:22:46To take on a song like that is hard.

0:22:46 > 0:22:48I wanted to give it more of a country feel at the beginning,

0:22:48 > 0:22:51instead of making it exactly the same as the Kenny Loggins version,

0:22:51 > 0:22:54then rock it up in the chorus bit.

0:22:54 > 0:22:55- TOM:- You did a good job with it,

0:22:55 > 0:22:59but Kenny Loggins' thing was like in there.

0:22:59 > 0:23:03For me, I was close, Jessie was looking over, going,

0:23:03 > 0:23:07"He should be on your team." But just not today, it wasn't the day, mate.

0:23:07 > 0:23:08Thank you though.

0:23:08 > 0:23:11Can you just play, like a verse, just your guitar.

0:23:11 > 0:23:14I just want to hear your voice cos there was so much going on.

0:23:14 > 0:23:18- Just a verse of something. - Something more country?- Anything.

0:23:25 > 0:23:29# She walks out to the man on the street

0:23:30 > 0:23:32# "Sir, can you help me?

0:23:33 > 0:23:37# "It's cold and I've nowhere to sleep

0:23:37 > 0:23:40# "Is there somewhere you can tell me?"

0:23:41 > 0:23:45# Oh, think twice

0:23:45 > 0:23:50# It's another day for you and me in paradise

0:23:50 > 0:23:52# Oh, think twice

0:23:52 > 0:23:55# It's just another day for you

0:23:55 > 0:24:05# For you and me in paradise, oh

0:24:05 > 0:24:11# Ah, oh! #

0:24:11 > 0:24:15CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:24:16 > 0:24:21CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:24:26 > 0:24:30I'm happy you just did that, because it's a lesson learned.

0:24:30 > 0:24:34Song choice is so important. Because we all just went...

0:24:35 > 0:24:39The lesson of today is, come with the 1,000 per cent you.

0:24:39 > 0:24:41Singing the song that you sang I forgot,

0:24:41 > 0:24:44because that was 1,000 per cent you.

0:24:45 > 0:24:47It's just that one-and-a-half minute.

0:24:47 > 0:24:51It's what you feel at that time, but that was amazing.

0:24:51 > 0:24:54- Thank you, though.- Thank you very much.- I'm happy you got to sing.

0:24:54 > 0:24:57CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:25:20 > 0:25:23See what I mean? Song choice, man.

0:25:23 > 0:25:25That was amazing when he just sang by himself.

0:25:25 > 0:25:26It's a shame.

0:25:26 > 0:25:30Some acts choose a song they know will get the coaches' attention.

0:25:30 > 0:25:32But it's a risky tactic.

0:25:32 > 0:25:35I'm singing a Script song. I think it adds a little more pressure.

0:25:35 > 0:25:38I want to do it justice and impress Danny.

0:25:39 > 0:25:43# She's all laid up in bed with a broken heart

0:25:45 > 0:25:49# While I'm drinking Jack all alone in my local bar

0:25:49 > 0:25:54# And we don't know how, how we got into this mad situation

0:25:54 > 0:25:57# Only doing things out of frustration

0:25:57 > 0:25:59# Trying to make it work But, man, these times are hard

0:26:03 > 0:26:07# Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh... #

0:26:07 > 0:26:09Press the button!

0:26:09 > 0:26:13# Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

0:26:13 > 0:26:15# Drinking old cheap bottles of wine

0:26:15 > 0:26:18# Sit talking up all night... #

0:26:18 > 0:26:19- TOM JONES:- It's a brave choice,

0:26:19 > 0:26:22for somebody to do one of the coaches' songs.

0:26:22 > 0:26:24Because they're going to be compared.

0:26:24 > 0:26:27Thank you very much for coming on and singing my song,

0:26:27 > 0:26:30that means a lot. I really appreciate that.

0:26:30 > 0:26:33Can I say something? Song choice is really, really important.

0:26:33 > 0:26:38For me, I had the original in my mind, as I think everyone else did.

0:26:38 > 0:26:40You always have to do a version

0:26:40 > 0:26:42that's going to stand out from the original

0:26:42 > 0:26:45or do something that is going to be as good if not better.

0:26:45 > 0:26:47Yeah.

0:26:47 > 0:26:51Sometimes we hear something that a lot of us would have never done.

0:26:51 > 0:26:56# I stare at my reflection in the mirror

0:26:58 > 0:27:01# Why am I doing this to myself? #

0:27:09 > 0:27:12# No, no, no, no, no!

0:27:12 > 0:27:16# Don't lose who you are

0:27:16 > 0:27:19# In the blur of the stars, no!

0:27:19 > 0:27:23# Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing

0:27:23 > 0:27:27# Just be true to who you are! #

0:27:27 > 0:27:31CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:27:31 > 0:27:33I'm sorry.

0:27:35 > 0:27:37I'm going to forget that that was my song

0:28:02 > 0:28:04HE CHUCKLES

0:28:04 > 0:28:07I think singing a coach's song can go either way.

0:28:07 > 0:28:10You are on a tightrope. You really are.

0:28:10 > 0:28:13LB Robinson has a song and a plan.

0:28:13 > 0:28:16The question is, will it come together?

0:28:32 > 0:28:34# Well, she's all you'd ever want

0:28:34 > 0:28:39# She's the kind I like to flaunt, take to dinner.

0:30:52 > 0:30:54- It went like me?- Huh?

0:30:57 > 0:30:59- LB:- Oh, just say it. Come on. - I got a bit bored.

0:30:59 > 0:31:02That's all right. That's fair enough.

0:31:02 > 0:31:05- I feel like your voice is better than how you sang at the end.- Yeah.

0:31:05 > 0:31:08Obviously, when you're singing someone else's song,

0:31:08 > 0:31:11I wanted to make it my own. I hate saying that phrase.

0:31:11 > 0:31:12- But then I wanted to do it justice. - Yeah.

0:31:12 > 0:31:15Obviously I knew I was going to sing it FOR HIM,

0:31:15 > 0:31:17so I wanted to show him, Tom, that I can do it.

0:31:17 > 0:31:20- No, I 100% understand that. - But if I bored you, what can I say?

0:31:30 > 0:31:33- GROWLS INTO MIC:- This is a first that we've seen on The Voice,

0:31:33 > 0:31:35when a singer challenges the pitcher!

0:31:35 > 0:31:36Oh, no!

0:31:36 > 0:31:40DANNY: Yeah, you know, don't take any disrespect by us

0:31:40 > 0:31:42all not turning around.

0:31:42 > 0:31:45At this stage in the show, you know, we all have our own game plans,

0:31:45 > 0:31:48but there's nobody better, genuinely.

0:31:48 > 0:31:50APPLAUSE

0:31:50 > 0:31:54The only reason why I didn't turn around is because, one,

0:31:54 > 0:31:58you sounded fantastic in the beginning and the end.

0:31:58 > 0:32:03But it's like, "What?! He's singing the boss' joint?"

0:32:03 > 0:32:06I'm going to hit the button? Nah, I ain't going to put myself like that.

0:32:06 > 0:32:09Just go with the dude, you know what I'm saying?

0:32:09 > 0:32:12CHEERING DANNY: Would you humour me?

0:32:12 > 0:32:14- If I'd have turned around, would you have gone with me?- No.

0:32:14 > 0:32:16Exactly, so I'm glad I didn't!

0:32:18 > 0:32:20No, that's absolutely against me! DANNY LAUGHS

0:32:20 > 0:32:22I think, with Mr Jones over there,

0:32:22 > 0:32:25I mean, I feel like we've got a lot in common.

0:32:25 > 0:32:26Thank you.

0:32:26 > 0:32:29And I feel that he can teach me a lot and help me a lot.

0:32:29 > 0:32:32- CHEERING - Where I want to go, where I want to be.

0:32:32 > 0:32:36- And the man's a legend! Look at him! - LOUD CHEERING

0:32:43 > 0:32:45I agree with Jessie on the one thing,

0:32:45 > 0:32:48that I loved the way you started that song.

0:32:48 > 0:32:51I'm really glad that you started that off as a ballad,

0:32:51 > 0:32:55because you really shone there, and now I know what you can really do.

0:32:55 > 0:32:58CHEERING

0:32:59 > 0:33:02- JESSIE: Lovely to meet you. WILL:- All right, LB!

0:51:22 > 0:51:25Thank you so much! Thank you very much!

0:51:26 > 0:51:29Well done! All that stuff we can work on.

0:51:34 > 0:51:37So Laura takes her place on Team Danny.

0:51:37 > 0:51:40But everything is still in the balance for Jessica.

0:51:40 > 0:51:44I feel like this is the biggest performance that I'll ever do.

0:51:48 > 0:51:50Everything else I've done, because I was young,

0:51:50 > 0:51:52I didn't really care what came from it.

0:51:52 > 0:51:54But now, I feel like this is it

0:51:54 > 0:51:57and I just really, really want it to work out for me.

0:52:26 > 0:52:33# I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar

0:52:35 > 0:52:37# When I met you

0:52:39 > 0:52:42# You picked me out, you shook me up

0:52:42 > 0:52:46# And turned me around

0:52:46 > 0:52:50# Turned me into someone new

0:52:51 > 0:52:58# Now five years later on you've got the world at your feet

0:52:58 > 0:53:04# Success has been so easy for you

0:53:04 > 0:53:11# But don't forget it's me who put you where you are now

0:53:11 > 0:53:15# And I can put you back down too

0:53:17 > 0:53:23# Don't, don't you want me..? #

0:53:23 > 0:53:26- Oh!- Come on, press that button!

0:53:26 > 0:53:30# ..when I hear that you won't see me

0:53:30 > 0:53:36# Don't, don't you want me?

0:53:36 > 0:53:42# I wish you'd change it back or we will both be sorry... #

0:53:42 > 0:53:45Come on! Come on!

0:53:45 > 0:53:48# Yeah, yeah

0:53:48 > 0:53:52# Don't, don't you want me?

0:53:52 > 0:53:54# Oh, oh, oh

0:53:55 > 0:54:01# Don't you want me, baby?

0:54:01 > 0:54:04# Don't you want me?

0:54:04 > 0:54:10# Oh, oh, oh, ooh-ooh. #

0:54:12 > 0:54:14CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:54:19 > 0:54:21God!

0:54:35 > 0:54:37- Hi.- What's your name?

0:54:37 > 0:54:39Erm, I'm Jess, and I'm from Sheffield.

0:54:39 > 0:54:43JESSIE: Good name! CHEERING

0:54:43 > 0:54:48There's a specific reason why I didn't turn around.

0:54:48 > 0:54:51You have a very, very unique,

0:54:51 > 0:54:54star quality voice, you know?

0:54:54 > 0:54:57APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:54:57 > 0:55:01But it wouldn't be fair to a singer that I have on my team

0:55:01 > 0:55:03that is similar to you.

0:55:03 > 0:55:05And I told her I'm going to fight.

0:55:05 > 0:55:09Now, I would be lying if I said I was going to fight,

0:55:09 > 0:55:11and then picked somebody similar to her.

0:55:11 > 0:55:14So that's the only reason why I didn't turn around.

0:55:14 > 0:55:16But I don't know why anybody else didn't.

0:55:16 > 0:55:20CHEERING AND APPLAUSE JESSIE: How old are you?

0:55:20 > 0:55:21I'm 21.

0:55:21 > 0:55:2321. And what do you do every day?

0:55:23 > 0:55:25What do you do for a living?

0:55:34 > 0:55:36It's all right. Don't cry.

0:55:39 > 0:55:41Right, can we just sit on the step?

0:55:43 > 0:55:49Ooh, OK, so, I didn't turn around because I don't think you're ready.

0:55:49 > 0:55:53There was a lady that came here last series and none of us turned around.

0:55:53 > 0:55:56Then she took our advice, went away, and came back a year later,

0:55:56 > 0:55:57and we all turned around.

0:55:57 > 0:56:01And I feel like that's exactly where you're at.

0:56:01 > 0:56:02DANNY: Yeah.

0:56:02 > 0:56:04And I feel like if you worked on your breathing,

0:56:04 > 0:56:07if you worked on your diction...and I don't want you to be sad.

0:56:07 > 0:56:09I really don't, cos you need to be so proud of yourself

0:56:09 > 0:56:13that all those little kids that you teach, honestly, are watching you.

0:56:13 > 0:56:15CHEERING ..and going, "Wow!

0:56:15 > 0:56:18"We can do that too!"

0:56:18 > 0:56:20I feel the same thing that she's feeling.

0:56:20 > 0:56:23I think that you need a little time.

0:56:23 > 0:56:28I like what you did with the song, though. I liked the idea of it.

0:56:28 > 0:56:30CHEERING

0:56:30 > 0:56:31Come on, let's go.

0:56:33 > 0:56:36DANNY: Genuinely. Come here. You're fantastic, you know.

0:56:38 > 0:56:40CHEERING

0:56:46 > 0:56:49People forget, half is talent, half is thick skin.

0:56:52 > 0:56:54THEY CHEER

0:56:54 > 0:56:56'I think nerves got to me a little bit.

0:56:56 > 0:57:01'I'm going to try and take the positive things that they've said

0:57:01 > 0:57:06'and come back next year with, obviously, something better,'

0:57:06 > 0:57:08cos that just weren't good enough.

0:57:11 > 0:57:15For some artists, The Voice is their first shot at the big time.

0:57:15 > 0:57:18For others, it could be their last chance.

0:57:18 > 0:57:21Karl Michael is pinning everything on this moment.

0:57:21 > 0:57:25People think having a record deal means you've made it.

0:57:26 > 0:57:28It doesn't.

0:57:29 > 0:57:33About six months ago, I was in the studio making an album,

0:57:33 > 0:57:36and then literally three days after,

0:57:36 > 0:57:39the record company decided to pull out.

0:57:39 > 0:57:42I went from recording in studios in New York

0:57:42 > 0:57:44to cleaning windows in Earls Court.

0:57:49 > 0:57:52In a matter of six months, I lost everything.

0:57:52 > 0:57:55- Thank you very much.- Cheers.

0:57:55 > 0:57:57I spend the day cleaning windows, and at night,

0:57:57 > 0:58:02I'm working in a bar just to have enough money to pay for my rent.

0:58:02 > 0:58:04It's a horrible feeling.

0:58:04 > 0:58:07It's like climbing a mountain, and as you're about to reach the top...

0:58:09 > 0:58:11..you fall.

0:58:11 > 0:58:15I feel like I've taken about five steps back in my life, yeah.

0:58:15 > 0:58:1826, I should have a girlfriend and living in a house,

0:58:18 > 0:58:20not living in a bedsit on my own.

0:58:20 > 0:58:23It's not where I want to be. Yeah.

0:58:26 > 0:58:29Everything's at stake for me. I've got nothing.

0:58:29 > 0:58:31All I've got is my voice.

0:58:33 > 0:58:41I need to prove to myself and to my family that I can do this.

0:58:41 > 0:58:45It's my last shot. I don't want to fail. I'm here to win.

0:58:59 > 0:59:01# Mmm

0:59:01 > 0:59:02# Mmm

0:59:07 > 0:59:15# I used to be a lunatic from the gracious days

0:59:17 > 0:59:23# Ooh-ooh, and I used to be woebegone

0:59:23 > 0:59:29# And so restless nights

0:59:29 > 0:59:30# Mmm-mmm

0:59:30 > 0:59:37# My aching heart would bleed

0:59:37 > 0:59:41# For you to see
