:00:07. > :00:11.Home for the day to over 8,000 pipers and drummers,
:00:12. > :00:14.as they battle it out in one of the biggest musical
:00:15. > :00:19.events of the year - the World Pipe Band Championships.
:00:20. > :01:03.PLAY This seems to Burns and supporters who have made a
:01:04. > :01:07.pilgrimage here to Glasgow green. And over the next hour we'll have
:01:08. > :01:10.fantastic performances from some of the finest pipe bands,
:01:11. > :01:13.as they go head to head to get It's the one they all want,
:01:14. > :01:17.the coveted title - Coming up - music from the all
:01:18. > :01:24.the qualifying bands We'll be taking a look
:01:25. > :01:27.at one of the Scottish bands who have a real chance
:01:28. > :01:30.in the competition this year. We'll find out how piping
:01:31. > :01:32.communities are inspiring the next generation,
:01:33. > :01:37.with the Govan Schools Pipes We will bring you some action from
:01:38. > :01:46.the juvenile final. And finally, we'll be
:01:47. > :01:49.revealing this year's winner. and competitiveness in the air,
:01:50. > :01:55.which I'm sure will guarantee some brilliant performances
:01:56. > :01:57.across the board, but before we get into the music, a quick
:01:58. > :01:59.breakdown of the competition. There are hundreds of bands
:02:00. > :02:01.here today all competing The top class contenders compete
:02:02. > :02:05.in the Grade One Arena, where 12 bands made it
:02:06. > :02:07.through qualifying To help guide us through
:02:08. > :02:14.the competition, I'm delighted to welcome back our old friend
:02:15. > :02:17.and legendary expert, Bob Worrall. Bob, can you give us a quick
:02:18. > :02:26.reminder of the rules? What happens is the 12 bands that
:02:27. > :02:33.qualify from yesterday will play twice today. They will play a march
:02:34. > :02:44.Strathspey and real and that will be followed by a medley event this
:02:45. > :02:48.afternoon. --Reel. They are judged by four adjudicators and the results
:02:49. > :02:54.from all of those adjudicators in those two events will be entered and
:02:55. > :02:58.won overall result. To the untrained ear that is not much dividing the
:02:59. > :03:04.top bands so what the judges look for? They are listing for basic
:03:05. > :03:09.tonal issues and tiny tunnel discrepancies in balance enchanters
:03:10. > :03:22.and Sean 's. Dash-mac tiny tonal discrepancies. They will be
:03:23. > :03:26.listening to overall musical impact involving dynamics and things that
:03:27. > :03:29.contribute to a great musical performance. The pipe band world is
:03:30. > :03:51.waiting for infinitely and district. --Inverary And District. They have
:03:52. > :03:55.won two championships and they have been doing very well. Then Field
:03:56. > :04:11.Marshal Montgomery have won the World Championship ten times. St
:04:12. > :04:20.Laurence O'Toole Are playing very well. Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia
:04:21. > :04:30.What third and the prize list and have been rising steadily and could
:04:31. > :04:32.claim the title. It would be a very close context.
:04:33. > :04:36.Inveraray and District have won two of the championships in the lead up
:04:37. > :04:38.to this Worlds, making them strong contenders to place
:04:39. > :04:41.St Laurence O'Toole are already in winning form for 2016,
:04:42. > :04:43.taking first place at the European Championship in June.
:04:44. > :04:46.Field Marshall Montgomery took home the top prize at the UK
:04:47. > :04:48.Defending champions Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia
:04:49. > :04:51.are in a strong position to hold on to their title.
:04:52. > :04:53.It's definitely going to be a close contest.
:04:54. > :04:55.Now without further ado, here's the first instalment
:04:56. > :05:03.First into the arena are Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia.
:05:04. > :05:20.A pretty solid overall introduction. PIPES PLAY. One thing that is
:05:21. > :05:39.impressing me at this point is the quality of the drone sound.
:05:40. > :05:44.We have worked very hard. We are but a few changes at the back end of the
:05:45. > :05:54.band but think we play much atrazine are together. We are all working
:05:55. > :05:56.very hard and enjoying it. Dash-mac I think we play much better
:05:57. > :06:08.together. There are some lovely tenor work in
:06:09. > :06:36.that part. Sustaining the temporal nicely and
:06:37. > :06:50.also defining the ends of the phrase extremely well. Dash-mac the temple.
:06:51. > :07:11.--Tempo. We managed to qualify so it has been good.
:07:12. > :07:52.The piping live festival has been running a full swing and a lot of
:07:53. > :07:55.the guys been involved lots of things to do with the festival so we
:07:56. > :08:01.have been squeezing in practices whenever we can at odd times of the
:08:02. > :08:03.day and we're just trying to make the best use of the time. It has
:08:04. > :08:59.been a busy week. We have not had a particularly good
:09:00. > :09:01.season so it was trying to qualify and put in a couple of creditable
:09:02. > :09:03.performances today. Great start to the competition
:09:04. > :09:06.and we'll have more from the main Remember you can also
:09:07. > :09:10.see all the Grade One performances in full
:09:11. > :09:12.on our website - bbc.co.uk/worlds. Here's more of the March,
:09:13. > :09:20.Strathspey and Reel. Next up is Alan Bevan
:09:21. > :09:55.with Simon Fraser University. That was one of the most precise
:09:56. > :10:14.introductions we have heard so far today.
:10:15. > :10:25.Just the touch after that first pipe. It was a good solid run. Two
:10:26. > :10:31.good runs yesterday and is keeping the ball rolling today. The band has
:10:32. > :10:35.been on an upward trajectory all season. It looks like we're peaking
:10:36. > :11:08.at the right time. PIPES PLAY. An excellent temporal in
:11:09. > :11:14.the Strathspey. -- tempo. Very enjoyable and that is the first
:11:15. > :11:18.grade one final for me as a pipe Major. We have worked really hard
:11:19. > :11:33.for this and we have a very strong team of people. I think it was solid
:11:34. > :11:38.enough. Lovely harmonics between the chanter and that drones. It was
:11:39. > :12:02.lovely. We have had two great weeks in
:12:03. > :12:05.Scotland. We have not seen a lot of sun but we had a good week in
:12:06. > :12:08.Edinburgh and a good week here and we have enjoyed it and the bands
:12:09. > :12:11.growing hugely and we have new young members of the band who have
:12:12. > :12:40.developed hugely as the trip has gone on. Very very musical playing.
:12:41. > :12:50.I am loving the energy coming from the sneers to support this June.
:12:51. > :13:06.Dash-mac from the snare drums. To support this June. --Tune. That was
:13:07. > :13:09.our relatively steady performance and the temperature could offer
:13:10. > :13:12.little but as he went on with a little bit of pushing here and there
:13:13. > :13:15.are but overall pretty happy with it.
:13:16. > :13:20.Four bands left to play the MSR, but first a look back at a band
:13:21. > :13:22.which have the Worlds in their sights.
:13:23. > :13:25.Let's take a closer look at Inveraray and District.
:13:26. > :13:31.Like many bands, Inveraray and District have come down
:13:32. > :13:34.to Glasgow a few days early to prepare for this year's Worlds.
:13:35. > :13:36.Formed in 2004, the band caught the public's imagination
:13:37. > :13:41.We caught up with them as Pipe Major Stuart Liddell puts
:13:42. > :13:53.It is a great venue to play and and that is an aura about the place
:13:54. > :13:57.which is almost like Christmas. That exciting feeling, you still have
:13:58. > :14:01.butterflies in the tummy right now because we are looking forward to
:14:02. > :14:05.going on the Green. The band has been doing well this year and won
:14:06. > :14:09.the first championship and second in the next and third in the next one
:14:10. > :14:12.and we won the Scottish and Dumbarton so we're doing is
:14:13. > :14:15.generally well this year, probably the best season we have ever had.
:14:16. > :14:20.We're looking at areas that they developed and that changes every
:14:21. > :14:23.year so one shoe master one thing you're onto the next so we're that
:14:24. > :14:45.attitude since the beginning of the band. PIPES PLAY. Watch these grace
:14:46. > :14:48.notes. One, two, three. We have been working was unsound because the
:14:49. > :14:51.bagpipe itself is a very temperamental instrument that all
:14:52. > :14:58.requires attention so sound is a big thing. Our strength would be playing
:14:59. > :15:01.together well as a unit. We have 25 pipers who do well at listing
:15:02. > :15:06.together locking and as a single unit.
:15:07. > :15:09.The band came third at last year's World Championships and this
:15:10. > :15:13.year they are among the favourites to take first place.
:15:14. > :15:18.We're drawn quite early on so early morning might be cooler than the
:15:19. > :15:22.afternoon so you really have to gauge the best it can and get the
:15:23. > :15:24.best out of the instruments so you have to gauge how long you have to
:15:25. > :15:26.play without going over the top. Some members come
:15:27. > :15:38.from as far afield as I was on the banned from the
:15:39. > :15:45.juvenile days up to grade one and I moved away from Inveraray and Levin
:15:46. > :15:52.is tell you now. Dash-mac I live in Australia now. They are the most
:15:53. > :15:57.outstanding band in the world and it has been a big goal for a couple of
:15:58. > :16:01.years and I was finally able to make it work logistically and financially
:16:02. > :16:07.this year to be a fly in a player from home. I keep in touch with them
:16:08. > :16:12.with the Internet and watch videos online. Every year I come back they
:16:13. > :16:18.are a new level and keep going up and up so it is very exciting. Look
:16:19. > :16:25.out for a wee smile at the end of the performance. If it is going well
:16:26. > :16:34.I will be smiling. With all the practising done here are
:16:35. > :17:08.with March, Strathspey and Reel there. It's a lovely sound.
:17:09. > :17:17.They are sustaining the energy in this march really very well. Very
:17:18. > :17:31.subtle question and answer phrasing adding to the overall ensemble
:17:32. > :17:32.effect. In my opinion one of the most talented bass drummers out
:17:33. > :18:15.there in the field. It felt as if we play from here
:18:16. > :18:21.which is good, that is what we wanted. Nothing that stood out
:18:22. > :18:25.majorly so there would always be tiny things in every band hazard. It
:18:26. > :18:29.is just what they can minimise the damage in Hawaii can do that. I
:18:30. > :18:32.think we did a pretty good job today. Dash-mac and how you can do
:18:33. > :19:18.that. The pipe is just a little behind the
:19:19. > :19:26.snare a line in the Strathspey and is losing a little bit of energy.
:19:27. > :19:37.And very demanding Strathspey to play as a band. We have had a really
:19:38. > :19:38.good season so we very confident in today and we're pleased to get that
:19:39. > :20:33.out of the way. And very strong bottom hand
:20:34. > :20:46.articulation and the Strathspey. That is one of the demands.
:20:47. > :21:17.Certainly we have made the prize list at all the majors this year so
:21:18. > :21:21.far so I just want to play well. If we can put into really good solid
:21:22. > :21:31.performances today I will be happy and whatever happens with that after
:21:32. > :21:49.that is beyond our control. PIPES PLAY.
:21:50. > :22:15.The band is playing as a total unified whole throughout this reel.
:22:16. > :22:33.Amazing stability to the sound throughout this performance.
:22:34. > :22:41.First-rate, absolutely first-rate. The competition at the top end of
:22:42. > :22:44.great one is really tight and the margins are so fine that we've been
:22:45. > :22:47.doing well but the other bands are doing well as well so it is a very
:22:48. > :22:53.high standard competition. Up next, the all-important
:22:54. > :22:55.Medley round. But first a look at some
:22:56. > :22:58.of the youngest and newest We caught up with the Govan Schools
:22:59. > :23:02.Pipes Drums Association to find out what it takes to prepare
:23:03. > :23:19.for the World Pipe Band They bring champion players shoulder
:23:20. > :23:22.to shoulder with novices ensuring that the bat and is passed on from
:23:23. > :23:32.one generation to the next. One example of this
:23:33. > :23:35.is the Govan Schools Pipes and Drums Association's
:23:36. > :23:45.Junior Novice pipe band. It was a project to try to bring
:23:46. > :23:51.kids together from different schools. All the kids live in Govan.
:23:52. > :23:55.I love music. It is a great instrument and many people who
:23:56. > :24:01.player. I'm looking forward to playing the drums for the first time
:24:02. > :24:13.in front of lots of people. Quick, March. PIPES PLAY.
:24:14. > :24:15.With their first Worlds only a few days away,
:24:16. > :24:28.is putting the budding pipers and drummers through their paces.
:24:29. > :24:38.That was brilliant. Do that on Saturday and I will be more than
:24:39. > :24:43.happy. To take up and it's not like the pipes, which is a very difficult
:24:44. > :24:48.and there to play properly, takes a lot of time and effort. It's
:24:49. > :24:55.sometimes hard work. I am never given it up. I have only just
:24:56. > :24:58.started and am practising every day. It is much better today so from
:24:59. > :25:04.nothing to the World Championships in three years. Power to their
:25:05. > :25:19.elbow, absolutely fantastic. The band is completely funded
:25:20. > :25:30.through donations including children and need -- children in need and the
:25:31. > :25:32.big lottery fund. It is camaraderie and learning an instrument and
:25:33. > :25:37.discipline which is very important the pipe bands and the enjoyment of
:25:38. > :25:41.travelling. Ever since I was a weak header I always used to watch the
:25:42. > :25:46.Govan fair and I always liked the bagpipes and the drums and when the
:25:47. > :26:01.advertised a skill I thought I would like to play the pipes. I would like
:26:02. > :26:03.to do well? Yes. ALL: Yes! Have a good nights sleep and I will see you
:26:04. > :26:06.in the morning. It's the day of the Worlds
:26:07. > :26:09.and the band are getting in a last-minute practice before
:26:10. > :26:13.their big performance. I am really excited and I hope we
:26:14. > :26:29.went. -- When. --Win. With all the hard work done,
:26:30. > :26:32.it's time to take to the arena. Sadly no silverware this
:26:33. > :26:34.year but it's looking how
:26:35. > :26:50.pipe music can have such a positive effect on communities,
:26:51. > :26:51.and they certainly looked Now it's time to take a look
:26:52. > :26:56.at the how the juveniles got from the juvenile grade,
:26:57. > :30:12.and let's take a look at who picked up the winner's trophy
:30:13. > :30:20.at the end of the day. it is close at the top. Going
:30:21. > :32:03.straight into the medley. It's an excellent introduction by
:32:04. > :33:07.the band. How does feel in your bones? Can do
:33:08. > :33:11.it again? I think so. It is down to what the other bands play and what
:33:12. > :33:17.the judges think but I think it is going well. There is a chance. Maybe
:33:18. > :33:20.an outside chance, we are definitely not the favourites but we weren't
:33:21. > :34:59.favourites last year either so who knows?
:35:00. > :35:31.You just heard something very, very special.
:35:32. > :35:39.You are the fairy tale, the young band moving up the rankings. Is this
:35:40. > :35:43.the year of the happy ending? We are in the best position this year than
:35:44. > :35:48.we have ever been, no doubt. It is out of our control so we do not
:35:49. > :35:52.know. We would love it to be but it is out of our control, can't do
:35:53. > :36:01.anything except play our very best and see what happens. The worlds is
:36:02. > :36:05.the pinnacle of competition and you want to be at your best at the best
:36:06. > :36:08.time and I think we've achieved that and I think that is why we are so
:36:09. > :37:12.excited and maybe a little emotional.
:37:13. > :37:20.You know, there is a stage when I step out and I could really hear how
:37:21. > :37:27.the band is sounding and it was sounding good. What happens now? Do
:37:28. > :37:31.you go back and talk over every bar? You go back and analyse things a
:37:32. > :37:36.little bit but the thing is it has been a long, hard week and weekend
:37:37. > :37:40.and the guys are pretty exhausted so they will have two relax and reflect
:37:41. > :37:45.on everything we have done. This is such a prestigious
:37:46. > :37:48.competition and there are plenty of spectators travelling
:37:49. > :37:50.near and far to get a taste of the wonderful atmosphere
:37:51. > :38:05.here on Glasgow Green. What is it about pipe bands that
:38:06. > :38:10.draws you hear? It is just great. It is for all ages, further children as
:38:11. > :38:15.well, it is fantastic to be involved and part of something as big as
:38:16. > :38:23.this, it is fantastic, really. Who are you and where are you from? We
:38:24. > :38:30.are a pipe band from Zimbabwe. What brings you here? It is an amazing
:38:31. > :38:38.combination of all the work that brings people here. What about the
:38:39. > :38:45.march past? It gets us pumped up to play with all those bands, 248
:38:46. > :38:51.think. We are from Canada so our favourite band is Simon Fraser
:38:52. > :39:01.University. Our local favourite is Inveraray. Inveraray! The
:39:02. > :39:10.atmosphere, we love coming here. I am going to go for a New Zealand
:39:11. > :39:20.band, Manawatu or New Zealand Police. I will go for Inveraray. Who
:39:21. > :39:28.are you going for? Field Marshal Montgomery. They're just so good.
:39:29. > :39:47.Who is going to win? Field Marshal Montgomery. Spirit Of Scotland. This
:39:48. > :39:55.is the winner of Pipe Idol. They pick one person from everyday and
:39:56. > :40:02.their is a final. And you won. Yes. Are you enjoying yourself? It is
:40:03. > :40:07.great. We are going for Field Marshal Montgomery. Them or
:40:08. > :40:09.Inveraray. A lot of people think it could be Inveraray. They have been
:40:10. > :40:15.doing well. Enjoy your day. Lovely to see everyone
:40:16. > :40:16.enjoying the spectacle. Now let's get back to
:40:17. > :40:24.what we all here for. Here is St Laurence O'Toole with
:40:25. > :40:45.their medley. From my angle it was tough but it
:40:46. > :41:22.seemed there was a double drone. Just listen to this superb
:41:23. > :41:59.percussion accompaniment. To be honest, when I took over the
:42:00. > :42:04.band, we had a three-year plan, an ambitious plan, and after the first
:42:05. > :42:07.year, we knew we were on track and the second year we were closer to
:42:08. > :42:16.being on track. But pipe bands can change like the weather. Was year
:42:17. > :42:17.three to win? Yes, but it was an ambitious plan so let's see how it
:42:18. > :42:43.goes today. Another superbly orchestrated
:42:44. > :43:16.movement. Its a really musical play,
:43:17. > :43:21.everything was well integrated and the sound was really good in the
:43:22. > :44:19.circle, hopefully as good outside. It felt like a really special round.
:44:20. > :44:28.I don't think I've ever seen a band finish a performance with so much
:44:29. > :44:37.emotion. Well, it is a special day with Jim retiring. So many tears. I
:44:38. > :44:44.don't think people would think of piping having that much emotion. To
:44:45. > :44:53.try and get to the level we got to in such a short space of time has
:44:54. > :44:56.demanded a lot of effort and work, so it is the culmination of that,
:44:57. > :45:05.and also sadness to see Jim retiring. And your post performance
:45:06. > :45:08.analysis? I am delighted with it, I think it was our best performance of
:45:09. > :45:12.the entire year and it was great just to put that out for that last
:45:13. > :45:22.occasion. You will have us all bubbling. You are all supposed to be
:45:23. > :45:29.big, brave men! You know what they say about big, brave men! And
:45:30. > :45:34.emotional time for you. Yes but we were doing it for each other so we
:45:35. > :45:39.did hold on and once we stopped it started to hit everybody. We have
:45:40. > :45:43.been friends for years and they came back to playing with me for my last
:45:44. > :45:48.year. And some of these guys are retiring as well so it is their
:45:49. > :45:55.swansong as well. It has been a great time. Over 400 competitions in
:45:56. > :46:03.my career, 50 years. I've met some fantastic able. This is a great
:46:04. > :46:06.game. It is a mix of young and old and the old get the experience and
:46:07. > :46:08.their energy from the young and the Young also get the experience from
:46:09. > :46:12.the old. It is a perfect mix. We're well into the final stages
:46:13. > :46:14.of the competition now, which means in a short while we'll
:46:15. > :46:17.find out who is going to claim the title World Pipe
:46:18. > :46:21.Band Champions 2016. But before that, I'm joined
:46:22. > :46:24.by former Pipe Major Ian MacLellan, who helped
:46:25. > :46:33.Strathclyde Police Pipe Band set a record 12 Grade One World
:46:34. > :46:47.Championship wins over an 11-year You actually first won in 1976. How
:46:48. > :46:54.has this changed over 40 years? Immensely. One of the biggest things
:46:55. > :46:58.is the size of the bands. In my day, there were probably only about 12
:46:59. > :47:03.pipers and now there are double that amount, and the same with the drums.
:47:04. > :47:12.It is a far bigger sound. What about the music itself? The march,
:47:13. > :47:17.Strathspey and Reel has not really changed. They are traditional tunes
:47:18. > :47:21.which have been played for years and years but the medleys have changed a
:47:22. > :47:26.great deal over the years. They are a far more adventurous with the
:47:27. > :47:33.songs and the harmonies and the ensemble with the drum corps has
:47:34. > :47:41.moved on. Who do you have your expert eye on this year? That would
:47:42. > :47:47.be committing myself! Four in mind. St Laurence O'Toole, fuelled much
:47:48. > :47:49.Montgomerie, Inveraray, and Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia.
:47:50. > :48:12.Here is Greater Glasgow police. Callum Campbell of Benbecula.
:48:13. > :49:40.This is real playing that will put a smile on your face. Lovely.
:49:41. > :49:47.I don't think people at home realise just how much even nuanced changes
:49:48. > :49:53.to the weather affects their instruments. A couple of degrees,
:49:54. > :49:59.the sun comes out, the cloud cover, it gets flatter, you have to go with
:50:00. > :50:03.it. What do you say to the rest of the band just before you hit the
:50:04. > :50:10.arena for the medley? Relax, enjoy it. And can you achieve that?
:50:11. > :50:14.Sometimes, because of icy anything else it might just disturb them. --
:50:15. > :51:51.if I say anything else. Strathspey, that makes our music so
:51:52. > :52:00.unique, listen to this. Beautifully presented. My desire is to play as
:52:01. > :52:05.well as we can. That is the goal when I take the band to the line.
:52:06. > :52:09.Anything after that is out with our control. If we can put in the
:52:10. > :52:14.performance I know we are capable of, I will be happy, and I'm pretty
:52:15. > :52:19.happy. The feeling of release must be spectacular. There was a lot of
:52:20. > :52:25.preparation and planning and thought, practice and rehearsal,
:52:26. > :52:29.goes into something like that. For every band. To get to this point in
:52:30. > :52:44.this season is a pretty big release, as you say.
:52:45. > :53:46.Lovely lift in these Strathspeys. Subtle contrast.
:53:47. > :54:15.The snares totally on the same page as the pipe core. Here it comes.
:54:16. > :55:10.Frances Morton's. Listen to the crowd.
:55:11. > :55:17.CHEERING It says it all. Is it's difficult,
:55:18. > :55:23.when you are going out, especially for the medley, the last chance, to
:55:24. > :55:29.rein in the enthusiasm so you don't end up overdoing it? You have to be
:55:30. > :55:34.controlled in there. Control with a bit of passion so you can feel the
:55:35. > :55:40.passion coming out in the music, and that's what we tried to do. It is a
:55:41. > :55:42.fine line. Yes, but they're all great musicians as well and all
:55:43. > :55:43.great musicians can do that. That's all the music
:55:44. > :55:48.from the competition complete. The long hours of rehearsing have
:55:49. > :55:51.led the bands to this moment. of these lot will be crowned
:55:52. > :56:03.this year's champion. Great won first place, winning the
:56:04. > :56:09.RSPB Jubilee Trophy and world champions for 2016... Field Marshal
:56:10. > :56:22.Montgomery. CHEERING
:56:23. > :56:39.In second place, Inveraray And District. In third place, St
:56:40. > :56:42.Laurence O'Toole. Richard Parkes, many congratulations. When you left
:56:43. > :56:47.the arena, did it feel like a world leading performance? Yes, both times
:56:48. > :56:51.we played we felt we played as good as we could so that is all we can do
:56:52. > :56:57.and it was up to the judges after that. It was a close fought
:56:58. > :57:01.competition at the top. Margins are so small at the minute. The top
:57:02. > :57:06.bands are all very good and there are very slight things that make a
:57:07. > :57:10.lot of difference. We did all we could today and we are absolutely
:57:11. > :57:20.over the moon with the result. This is Field Marshal Montgomery's 11th
:57:21. > :57:24.title. It doesn't get any easier? Harder every year, especially the
:57:25. > :57:30.older you get! I'm sure you will have a night to remember. Let's hear
:57:31. > :57:31.it for the world pipe band champions 2016, Field Marshal Montgomery!
:57:32. > :57:33.CHEERING A return to winning ways
:57:34. > :57:36.for Field Marshall Montgomery. And the final positions
:57:37. > :57:38.of the top six. In third place are
:57:39. > :57:42.St Laurence O'Toole. Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia
:57:43. > :57:46.finishing this year in fourth. And completing the final six
:57:47. > :57:54.is Police Scotland Fife. So an emotional end
:57:55. > :58:06.to a fantastic day. Eight or effect result. They played
:58:07. > :58:08.as well as any band could play in the medley today. 11 championship
:58:09. > :58:10.wins for them. Don't forget to go to our website
:58:11. > :58:13.for lots more coverage of But for now, from Bob
:58:14. > :58:16.and I and an ecstatic Field Marshal Montgomery
:58:17. > :59:27.pipe band, goodbye. You're coming across as, frankly,
:59:28. > :59:32.ridiculous. I'm flabbergasted by that.
:59:33. > :59:36.Will they get burnt...
