:00:00. > :00:00.a damaged limitation exercise. Mike Embley is here in 20 minutes time.

:00:00. > :00:00.Time now for a look at the news as seen across the United States a

:00:00. > :00:12.couple of hours ago, in ABC World News with Dianne Sawyer.

:00:13. > :00:19.Welcome. The search for the girls is on. Kidnapped schoolgirls and the UN

:00:20. > :00:22.says a new group was taken today. Taken by terrorists threatening to

:00:23. > :00:29.sell them. President Obama sends a team to Africa to help ring them

:00:30. > :00:34.home. Going to extremes, big news about severe weather hitting every

:00:35. > :00:38.corner of America `` help bring them home. Real money, cuts to the family

:00:39. > :00:45.credit card ill with just one phone call? We will tell you what to say

:00:46. > :01:00.and do as we save family $1000 and you can also do it. Good evening. We

:01:01. > :01:03.begin at the White House. The president and 300 experts give their

:01:04. > :01:09.answer to a question we have been asking, is this extreme weather

:01:10. > :01:14.around us global warming or not? The President's answer is yes, and it is

:01:15. > :01:23.under way right now. Our correspondent at the White House

:01:24. > :01:27.spoke with the President today. The message in this report, it is

:01:28. > :01:32.already happening. Extremes of today will become even more extreme. In

:01:33. > :01:38.the north`east, torrential rain and flooding like those from hurricane

:01:39. > :01:44.in Sandy. Did you see that one? In the south`east, coastal flooding.

:01:45. > :01:50.The storm surge has been flooding this highway. In the farm belt,

:01:51. > :01:54.longer growing seasons. And, in the south`west, it means more heatwaves

:01:55. > :02:01.and exceptional drought. That brings wildfires. All of those, according

:02:02. > :02:07.to the report is from the impact of a warming planet. The new report,

:02:08. > :02:12.this situation, seems dire. What do you think we can do in two years?

:02:13. > :02:17.The good news is we have taken big actions, whether it is increasing

:02:18. > :02:21.fuel efficiency standards on cars, increasing efficiency on appliances.

:02:22. > :02:26.We will have to do more. We also have a chance to turn back these

:02:27. > :02:29.rising temperatures if we take some bold action is now. It is all part

:02:30. > :02:35.of the aggressive plan laid out by the White House, reducing emissions

:02:36. > :02:40.from coal plants, helping community race for extreme weather that will

:02:41. > :02:44.worsen and, lead other nations like China, which has surpassed America

:02:45. > :02:50.in damaging emissions. While the US makes up just 5% of the world 's

:02:51. > :02:53.population, we still consume 24% of the world 's energy. While they were

:02:54. > :03:00.more than 300 scientists behind this report, and to oil companies, there

:03:01. > :03:05.are definitely those who don't agree `` there. Mother earth won't stop

:03:06. > :03:08.throwing punches and I think the changes that are attempting to

:03:09. > :03:13.lessen those punches will have much less of an impact than teaching us

:03:14. > :03:17.how to avoid getting hit square by those punches in the first place. I

:03:18. > :03:20.spent the day here at the White House and the president and staff

:03:21. > :03:27.tell me they are excited about this because it will help people that ``

:03:28. > :03:31.then something interesting happened. The President wanted to

:03:32. > :03:39.know which storm was the worst I have ever covered. My answer,

:03:40. > :03:44.hurricane in Sandy and Katrina. We head overseas for a note. Fear

:03:45. > :03:53.increasing that Ukraine might be headed towards a civil war. There is

:03:54. > :03:58.concern that even more of Ukraine will vote to try and secede in a

:03:59. > :04:03.proposed referendum. The US State Department gave a strong warning

:04:04. > :04:09.against any such vote, calling it an illegal effort to further divide

:04:10. > :04:13.Ukraine. Back home, a California highway caught fire and is close to

:04:14. > :04:18.night as workers repair the bridge. The main connector between LA and

:04:19. > :04:21.lost Vegas. The fire started with a blow torch and a stiff breeze. The

:04:22. > :04:26.wooden supports around the construction area blazed and traffic

:04:27. > :04:32.act up 20 miles. The highway will be closed for two days. `` backed up.

:04:33. > :04:37.We turn back to the story of the search for girls kidnapped in

:04:38. > :04:42.Africa. UNICEF says another group has been taken and President Obama

:04:43. > :04:48.told ABC News that the US is sending help. This, as around the world, the

:04:49. > :04:53.outrage is building. People from around the world holding up signs

:04:54. > :05:03.saying, bring back our girls. Our correspondent is tracking the search

:05:04. > :05:06.at this hour. What it calls the worsening nightmare in Nigeria,

:05:07. > :05:11.eight more Nigerian schoolgirls have been abducted. A second brazen

:05:12. > :05:18.kidnapping by the terror group already holding hundreds more taken

:05:19. > :05:22.last month. They have been brought here to take their final exams in

:05:23. > :05:30.safety. Young women, aged 15`18, who then came face`to`face with the very

:05:31. > :05:37.terror group they had tried to flee. Three weeks later, the government of

:05:38. > :05:40.Nigeria says it still has no idea where the missing girls or the

:05:41. > :05:46.kidnappers are. Today at the White House, President Obama told us that

:05:47. > :05:51.the US is now taking action. We have already sent in 18, two Nigeria,

:05:52. > :05:56.they have accepted our help. A combination of military, law

:05:57. > :06:01.enforcement, and other agencies. Who are going in, to try and identify

:06:02. > :06:10.where the girls might be and provide them with ``to Nigeria. Help ``

:06:11. > :06:14.provide them with help. This protest happened in front of the United

:06:15. > :06:24.Nations in New York. There was a moment of silence on capital Hill,

:06:25. > :06:29.and growing anger, . As more time passes, the less likely it is that

:06:30. > :06:32.they will be rescued. 50 girls have escaped, including B is that they

:06:33. > :06:40.will be rescued. 50 girls have escaped, including bees four,

:06:41. > :06:44.avoiding could await the others. My friends and I jumped from the

:06:45. > :06:49.vehicle and ran home, we realise they did not look innocent. The

:06:50. > :06:52.remaining girls, hundreds of them are in the hands of Boko Haram and

:06:53. > :06:55.their ruthless leader who have boasted there is a market for the

:06:56. > :07:05.young girls, as sex slaves, and he intends to sell them. Young women

:07:06. > :07:09.carry a price premium in these kinds of transactions. Human rights groups

:07:10. > :07:14.say there is a thriving slave trade in this part of Africa, despite laws

:07:15. > :07:16.and crackdowns. Hundreds of thousands of children a year are

:07:17. > :07:22.sold into slavery, as domestic workers, labourers, child brides, or

:07:23. > :07:26.prostitutes. Now, the question is whether the US can act quickly

:07:27. > :07:31.enough to help the Nigerians find the missing schoolgirls before they

:07:32. > :07:36.are sold off or worse. As the president said, it is

:07:37. > :07:42.heartbreaking. Now, back here in New York, a new video has surfaced of a

:07:43. > :07:46.defiant stance, three men base jumping off the World Trade Center.

:07:47. > :07:50.They have appeared in court with an accomplice revealing how they did it

:07:51. > :07:52.and what they said adds to the concern about security of the giant

:07:53. > :08:00.structure built on sacred American soil.

:08:01. > :08:05.Tonight, new video of the daring jump that landed four men in legal

:08:06. > :08:09.trouble. This morning in court for base jumping off the top of one

:08:10. > :08:13.World Trade Center, the tallest building in the nation, more than

:08:14. > :08:17.1700 feet high. It was a beautiful express to have. They have pleaded

:08:18. > :08:21.not guilty to the charges, including burglary, felony, and reckless

:08:22. > :08:26.endangerment. The men say they never saw security and spent four hours

:08:27. > :08:30.ticking interviews before jumping. They have exposed security flaws.

:08:31. > :08:35.That was not the intention. But we did. According to court documents,

:08:36. > :08:39.one of the men used his access as an ironwork at the site to sneak in

:08:40. > :08:44.parachutes beforehand. Letting the other men in, the stunt shows how

:08:45. > :08:49.vulnerable the building is. In March, a 16`year`old was arrested

:08:50. > :08:54.after sneaking past a sleeping security guard and climbing all the

:08:55. > :08:58.way to the antenna of the building. An investigation uncovered police at

:08:59. > :09:01.a high profile building were not focused, more focused on their

:09:02. > :09:06.cellphones than surveillance. Officials have condemned the jump,

:09:07. > :09:14.saying that they endangered the public and adding the site is now

:09:15. > :09:19.secure. Up next to night, real money, big

:09:20. > :09:24.cuts to your family 's credit card bill with one phone call? Tonight,

:09:25. > :10:39.we save a family $1000 and how you can do it as well. `` tonight.

:10:40. > :10:45.Our instant index tonight begins with the best place on earth to be a

:10:46. > :10:49.mum. This is a survey from Save the Children. Number one is Finland,

:10:50. > :10:52.then Norway and Sweden. It is all based on available education for

:10:53. > :10:57.children, economic support, and the risks to mothers and children. At

:10:58. > :10:59.the bottom of the list, Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo

:11:00. > :11:06.where it is more dangerous to be a mother than to be an armed fighter.

:11:07. > :11:15.By the way, the USA ranks 31 out of 100 and sent yet countries, tumbling

:11:16. > :11:18.from sixth place eight years ago. This new picture has surfaced

:11:19. > :11:25.showing none other than Prince William. He is right there in coach.

:11:26. > :11:29.He is making his way back to London after a friends wedding, and

:11:30. > :11:33.reportedly his grandmother asked that on personal trips, Royals pay

:11:34. > :11:40.for their own travel and avoid of extravagance. Today, a lion king

:11:41. > :11:43.moment at the National zoo in Washington, DC. It is the

:11:44. > :11:50.all`important swing test for the lion cubs. Four went into the water

:11:51. > :11:54.and paddled around, scrambled out into the arms of their human parents

:11:55. > :11:57.and into warm blankets. They all passed with flying colours, which

:11:58. > :11:59.means they only need their vaccinations and then they can join

:12:00. > :12:05.their brothers and sisters in the outdoor exhibit. News Justin

:12:06. > :12:11.tonight, new surveillance video just released of that teenager, the

:12:12. > :12:16.aeroplane Stowaway, who probably survived a flight to Hawaii in the

:12:17. > :12:19.wheel well of an aeroplane. Look at this video, it shows the 15`year`old

:12:20. > :12:24.getting out of the wheel well on arrival, walking onto the tarmac.

:12:25. > :12:30.Nobody knows how he survived temperatures that could have dipped

:12:31. > :12:38.two `80 degrees in the air. Tonight, officials are investigating new 911

:12:39. > :12:51.tapes of a shooting one week ago in Atlanta. Our correspondent walks us

:12:52. > :12:55.through them. That is the voice of a 28 your

:12:56. > :13:01.security guard, calling for help and struggling for life after one of his

:13:02. > :13:08.co`workers started shooting last Tuesday at this FedEx distribution

:13:09. > :13:11.plant north of Atlanta. He is a newlywed and an Army veteran in the

:13:12. > :13:16.middle of an act of war place shooting. `` workplace. He does not

:13:17. > :13:26.think he is going to make it. The gunshot windows above his waist.

:13:27. > :13:34.Police say the gunmen was just 19 years old, and worked as a package

:13:35. > :13:36.handler at the warehouse. He was armed with a shotgun and a knife and

:13:37. > :13:53.began the shootings outside. Once he made it past the guard

:13:54. > :13:54.shack, he was firing at workers inside of the building, who also

:13:55. > :14:11.called 911. He was, winding six people before

:14:12. > :14:19.shooting and killing himself, everyone else survived. ``

:14:20. > :14:25.injuring. Tonight, this man is still in hospital. There is no known

:14:26. > :14:29.motive for shooting. A familiar name is back in the headlines, Monica

:14:30. > :14:42.Lewinsky, now 40 years old and breaking her silence after ten years

:14:43. > :14:47.about President Bill Clinton. She was the intern who had the

:14:48. > :14:51.affair that impeach the president. The world has not heard much from

:14:52. > :14:58.Monica Lewinsky since those days, and now she is breaking a decade of

:14:59. > :15:13.silence. She spoke to Vanity fair magazine. ``Vanity Fair. She reacts

:15:14. > :15:15.to recently released Clinton White House papers, calling Hillary

:15:16. > :15:36.Clinton the following. If . Back in 1999, she spoke to Barbara

:15:37. > :15:39.Walters about the affair, in one of the most watched television

:15:40. > :15:45.interviews of all time. He kissed you, what did you think? He is a

:15:46. > :15:49.good kisser. Now, she is a handbag designer, she got a masters degree

:15:50. > :15:53.in social psychology and pursued a career in communications. She said

:15:54. > :15:57.she stayed reclusive after Hillary Clinton ran for president for fear

:15:58. > :16:04.of becoming a political issue. She said she will be reclusive no more,

:16:05. > :16:08.writing the following. She promises a new media project on the net

:16:09. > :16:22.future, to help victims of online harassment and humiliation.

:16:23. > :16:27.This family has more than $15,000 of credit card debt, is there a way to

:16:28. > :16:31.pay less and get more of a return? Our correspondent shows that a phone

:16:32. > :16:37.call can keep money in your pocket. Sarah Wilson is a blogger, and a

:16:38. > :16:46.busy mother of three just out of Philadelphia.

:16:47. > :16:49.`` outside. She also has her fill of finance charges. Do you fill sick

:16:50. > :16:58.dual stomach? Throwing money away? Do. You don't need me to remind you?
