:00:14. > :00:17.News with Dianne Sawyer. Welcome to World News, tonight, the call to

:00:18. > :00:21.action as the best of the best firefighters from around the country

:00:22. > :00:25.pour into Arizona to battle a raging tower of flames. Tonight, passengers

:00:26. > :00:30.are fighting back at the nation 's airlines, saying they are hiding the

:00:31. > :00:33.true cost of tickets. Watch your wallet, we have videos of

:00:34. > :00:36.pickpockets with new tricks. The experts take you frame by frame to

:00:37. > :00:41.show how to spot them. And, tiny houses the size of an SUV? How your

:00:42. > :00:55.neighbours are beating the high costs and finding happiness.

:00:56. > :01:00.Good evening. We are coming on air in the middle of a heroic battle in

:01:01. > :01:07.the middle of a wildfire in Arizona. An army of firefighters are

:01:08. > :01:14.going to the rescue, and the wind is not helping, with gusts of up to 50

:01:15. > :01:20.mph. There is something else redhot tonight near Arizona's iconic red

:01:21. > :01:24.rocks. A wildfire, 0% contained, is charring some of the countries most

:01:25. > :01:28.gorgeous landscape. Tourists are being turned away in advance of the

:01:29. > :01:34.Memorial Day holiday. This couple owns a resort here. Our livelihood

:01:35. > :01:39.is up there. All of our guests got out safely, that is the main thing,

:01:40. > :01:48.of course. Hundreds of firefighters battling the wind whipped flames, in

:01:49. > :01:53.this State Park. It is a difficult fire to catch, when you have the

:01:54. > :01:58.wind driven and steep to rain. That is why we have 15 hotshot crews on

:01:59. > :02:07.order. They are expected here tonight, including firefighters from

:02:08. > :02:11.Prescott, Arizona. Several members of their team were killed not far

:02:12. > :02:14.from here last summer. Some are looking at new ways to fight fires.

:02:15. > :02:19.Australian scientists are working on a way to use the force of a large

:02:20. > :02:24.explosion to literally blow away a fire. Watch again, it is like

:02:25. > :02:28.blowing out a candle. A blast of air from the explosion, knocking the

:02:29. > :02:35.flame from its fuel source. Until then, they will fight the

:02:36. > :02:39.old`fashioned way. From the Rockies to the east coast, severe weather.

:02:40. > :02:41.Tornado warnings forced on the East Coast, severe weather. Tornado

:02:42. > :02:45.warnings forced over airport to close for more than an hour this

:02:46. > :02:58.afternoon. That is not slow but Hale. Up to five inches in places.

:02:59. > :03:05.You can see the huge columns of smoke behind me `` ``snow but ha.

:03:06. > :03:13.Several hundred close `` several hundred homes are awfully close. ``

:03:14. > :03:18.hale. Now the growing rage over veteran hospitals and life`saving

:03:19. > :03:22.care. The president Wade and today over talking action. Our

:03:23. > :03:29.correspondent who has been on the story from the beginning has the

:03:30. > :03:33.report ``weighed. A national disgrace, this dying bit non`

:03:34. > :03:45.veteran waited eight months for care. In Indianapolis, this sick

:03:46. > :03:51.veteran cannot get her medicines for months `` Vietnam.. Today, they are

:03:52. > :03:55.ready to hear directly from President Obama. I wanted to hear

:03:56. > :04:05.from him a long time ago. The president said that this hospital

:04:06. > :04:10.had gained. It is dishonourable and disgraceful. I will not tolerate

:04:11. > :04:15.it, period. President Obama said that he wanted answers to four

:04:16. > :04:20.questions before firing anyone. The checklist, who cooked the books?

:04:21. > :04:24.Were they under pressure to deliver unrealistic appointment days? Who

:04:25. > :04:27.said the guidelines? Who covered up? The Inspector General 's

:04:28. > :04:33.investigation has spread to 26 hospitals in 11 states that we know

:04:34. > :04:38.what. The president stunned relatives today by saying that so

:04:39. > :04:42.far the IgE has found no case where a death was actually caused by the

:04:43. > :04:48.delays. The IG indicated that he did not see a link between a wait and

:04:49. > :04:55.then dying. Bringing another wave of anger to Sally back in Phoenix. They

:04:56. > :05:00.are lying, I am angry. They are responsible for his death. The

:05:01. > :05:03.president of night vowed to fix whatever was wrong out of night

:05:04. > :05:13.vowed to fix whatever was wrong at the VA. Now, to the demands like to

:05:14. > :05:19.strengthen the airline passengers bill of rights, the target, those

:05:20. > :05:21.confusing fees which mask exactly how much your ticket will cost.

:05:22. > :05:23.Everything from baggage fees to seek charges. Our correspondent now on

:05:24. > :05:28.the new crackdown tonight. Are you excited about your vacation? This

:05:29. > :05:32.family travels a lot, and tonight, the government wants to make sure

:05:33. > :05:34.that they do not get any nasty surprises at the airport. All of

:05:35. > :05:39.those extra airline fees. We have all been there, lured by lower

:05:40. > :05:43.advertising fares, to be shocked at the total bill. The Department of

:05:44. > :05:46.transportation is proposing new rules that would require airlines

:05:47. > :05:50.and travel agents to be more transparent, disclosing all of those

:05:51. > :05:59.extra charges upfront, and not in small print. Including four checked

:06:00. > :06:03.bags, carry arms, and assigned seats. The family are planning their

:06:04. > :06:09.summer holiday. This is what they will be paying to fly to Hilton head

:06:10. > :06:14.in Carolina. `` South Carolina. Look, sitting together could cost

:06:15. > :06:23.them an extra $15 each. One checked bag, $25, and a second, $35. Some

:06:24. > :06:29.airlines are charging up to $50 for carry arms. The final ticket price

:06:30. > :06:36.could be $619 each. That is $500 in extra fees for a family of four. The

:06:37. > :06:45.FIA wants that spelt out clearly but tonight the airline industry is

:06:46. > :06:50.fighting back. The new rules could go into effect as early as next

:06:51. > :06:58.year. Just in time for the family 's next big trip. Right now, we have

:06:59. > :07:06.news from overseas in Nigeria, Morne US troops are joining the hunt for

:07:07. > :07:13.80 Americans have been deployed to chart which shares the border with

:07:14. > :07:15.Nigeria, and the president says they will stay until American help is no

:07:16. > :07:26.longer needed. To Ron, a reminder of all of the freedoms we still take

:07:27. > :07:31.for granted in America. `` Iran. Some young fans from Iran decided to

:07:32. > :07:36.join the movement, their irrepressible joy met with an

:07:37. > :07:47.ominous show of force. Today, world leaders and the singer himself are

:07:48. > :07:58.fighting back. They call it happy in Tehran. Young Iranians lip syncing

:07:59. > :08:06.of the yet. The message, even in oppressive Iran there is joy. Then

:08:07. > :08:15.the police found out and the joy was over. They rounded up and arrested

:08:16. > :08:19.the 16 says and the filmmaker. Women were not wearing the required

:08:20. > :08:22.headscarves and were called Volga and an affront to chastity. The

:08:23. > :08:38.world reaction was swift. Iran today is a country in flux. The

:08:39. > :08:41.old guard facing off with the new president, who is supporting what

:08:42. > :08:46.freedoms, especially on the Internet. Tonight, six of the seven

:08:47. > :08:51.young people from the video were released. The president even

:08:52. > :08:58.tweeting, happiness is our people's right. Repix say the dangers should

:08:59. > :09:01.not have been arrested in the first place.

:09:02. > :09:08.Sometimes humour is the hardest thing. Just ask the FBI director.

:09:09. > :09:15.Today his attempt at a joke about marijuana backfired and backfired

:09:16. > :09:23.big`time. Currently if you smoke marijuana,

:09:24. > :09:27.you need not apply to the FBI. But a bit of a buzz has been created after

:09:28. > :09:40.the FBI director was asked if the FBI would hire a talented computer

:09:41. > :09:46.hacker who smokes pot. Does that mean the FBI is considering a change

:09:47. > :09:51.in its policy? Today the FBI said, hold on. The director said the

:09:52. > :09:55.comments were in jest. I am determined not to lose my sense of

:09:56. > :10:01.humour. I was trying to be both serious and funny. I am dead set

:10:02. > :10:06.against using marijuana. I do not want young people to use marijuana.

:10:07. > :10:11.It is against the law. I said I have to grapple with the change in my

:10:12. > :10:20.workforce. Some members of Congress or not laughing.

:10:21. > :10:26.Next, we are heading into Memorial Day weekend and a new report out

:10:27. > :10:33.today reveals this is the highest time of year for drivers who run red

:10:34. > :10:40.lights. Today we learned that drivers most frequently run lights

:10:41. > :10:46.in the afternoon. The worst day of the week is Friday. Maybe when

:10:47. > :10:50.everyone is thinking of the weekend. Now to the news that has a lot of

:10:51. > :10:58.pet owners demanding answers, the report of tented treats from China.

:10:59. > :11:05.Today all of the treats made in China are being taken off the

:11:54. > :11:59.it is causing the illness. The retailers have announced that the

:12:06. > :12:09.shelves. Several of these are still on the shelves. The company says

:12:10. > :12:16.that by the end of the year they will all be gone. Interestingly, all

:12:17. > :12:21.of these products are in clearance. They are still on the shelves for

:12:22. > :12:36.now. Makers say that there are safe.

:12:37. > :12:43.At next, we are going to show you pickpockets using new tricks to lift
