:00:00. > :00:08.Ecuador. It is time to catch up with a busy

:00:09. > :00:16.world news. `` BBC World News. Tonight, the tale of the tape, US

:00:17. > :00:22.forces face`to`face with the Taliban. The blinking of his eyes,

:00:23. > :00:27.the special forces, there stands, and that handshake. What it could

:00:28. > :00:35.all reveal. Security breach? President Obama at the G7 summit,

:00:36. > :00:38.why is the world seeing this? Who recorded the president working out

:00:39. > :00:43.at the hotel gym? Who are the strangers in the gym? And what the

:00:44. > :00:50.White House is saying tonight. High winds, hail and heavy wind. Putting

:00:51. > :00:53.your e`mails to the test, sending planks of wood rocketing into the

:00:54. > :00:59.windows. How to protect your home in severe weather. And, trapped. We

:01:00. > :01:02.hear from the children inside this bounce slide as it was lifted off

:01:03. > :01:04.the ground and blown away. The parents watching. What they want

:01:05. > :01:27.every family to know tonight. We begin with a new video showing

:01:28. > :01:30.those extraordinary moments American POW Bowe Bergdahl waiting with the

:01:31. > :01:34.Taliban for US special forces to arrive. You see them land, and so

:01:35. > :01:37.many cruise and Nvidia. Bowe Bergdahl brought towards the

:01:38. > :01:43.helicopter, a member of the American team reaching out to shake a member

:01:44. > :01:46.of the Taliban's hand, before Bowe Bergdahl is turned over. Then,

:01:47. > :01:49.patting him down, presumably looking for possible explosives. Tonight,

:01:50. > :01:59.our chief global moment through the tape.

:02:00. > :02:04.Late afternoon, deep in the valley. Bowe Bergdahl, clean`shaven,

:02:05. > :02:08.blinking and whole wide, as if emerging from the dark for the first

:02:09. > :02:13.time. Taliban fighters high in the hills, able to shoot below. The

:02:14. > :02:18.white flag on a freshly cut branch, a sign for the Americans.

:02:19. > :02:23.Translating the conversation from the language of the Taliban, a

:02:24. > :02:27.fighter says to Bowe Bergdahl, don't come back to Afghanistan, you will

:02:28. > :02:33.not make it out alive next time. Then, surveillance aircraft appear,

:02:34. > :02:38.followed by two helicopters. Three Americans emerge. Bowe Bergdahl

:02:39. > :02:42.carrying a bag, is escorted towards them. His back is quickly patted,

:02:43. > :02:48.making sure he has not been turned into a human bomb. Just before

:02:49. > :02:54.boarding, his bag is grabbed and dropped. Another patdown, then

:02:55. > :02:59.airborne to freedom. ABC News consultant and retired Marine Corps

:03:00. > :03:07.fighter pilot Steve Canyon, studied the video scene hidden signs key to

:03:08. > :03:12.the operation. First, the hoods of the Taliban. More than likely, they

:03:13. > :03:17.asked us to raise the hood of the vehicle, as a signal we have the

:03:18. > :03:21.right area. Then, the number 41 on the US helicopter, likely a message

:03:22. > :03:28.back to the Taliban, the deal is on. And, the hand after the Americans.

:03:29. > :03:32.All three of them are in civilian clothes, are they special forces or

:03:33. > :03:36.CIA? Back we see the man in the centre doing the pack down, but

:03:37. > :03:41.watch how straight these men's arms stay. Really, their arms kept

:03:42. > :03:48.straight as they conceal something up their sleeves. Elvis Lee had some

:03:49. > :03:54.kind of weapon, so they need to shoot across each other they are

:03:55. > :03:59.ready to go. Then, Bowe Bergdahl's linking eyes. The bright sun, the

:04:00. > :04:01.dust, or something else? If you think about all the executions they

:04:02. > :04:04.have done over the years that they love to film, then you have him,

:04:05. > :04:08.being let out to an open area with people filming him and weapons, he

:04:09. > :04:14.can just as easily be thinking, I'm about to be executed on film for the

:04:15. > :04:17.Taliban. No one knows for sure, the blinking may have been because he

:04:18. > :04:23.had spent so little time in the sun. What we do know is that once on that

:04:24. > :04:28.helicopter, realising he was safe and with Americans, he broke down in

:04:29. > :04:34.tears. Tonight, he is still in the hospital in Germany, likely to be

:04:35. > :04:37.back in the US next week. As we await any word on Bowe

:04:38. > :04:41.Bergdahl's condition in the military hospital, there are other families

:04:42. > :04:46.in America asking, what about our loved ones? Still missing, believed

:04:47. > :04:52.to be held by the Taliban. Including this woman. An American woman and

:04:53. > :05:00.her husband, the most recent image, it is believed she has given birth

:05:01. > :05:03.while captive. It was the trade for prisoners with Sergeant Bergdahl

:05:04. > :05:07.that led the parents of this young woman to go public today with the

:05:08. > :05:13.associated press, hoping there is a way to get there bought back home.

:05:14. > :05:16.Their plight had received little attention until today, when two

:05:17. > :05:21.videos were made public by the family of the missing American

:05:22. > :05:28.woman. She is seen here next to the Canadian husband. I'm a prisoner of

:05:29. > :05:31.the Taliban, my husband and I... She was pregnant when the couple went

:05:32. > :05:36.missing almost two years ago in Afghanistan, as they hiked through a

:05:37. > :05:39.region controlled by the Taliban. In the video, which are family received

:05:40. > :05:44.last year, she talks of the child she apparently gave birth to in

:05:45. > :05:49.Taliban captivity. I would ask that my family and my government do

:05:50. > :05:58.everything that they can to bring my husband, child and I to safety. We

:05:59. > :06:01.have not heard from them, we have not heard anything except for the

:06:02. > :06:04.video. She is just one of at least ten Americans being held hostage or

:06:05. > :06:08.captive somewhere in the world tonight, whose families are also

:06:09. > :06:14.counting on the US government to act. In Pakistan, an American aid

:06:15. > :06:19.worker was kidnapped by Al Qaeda three years ago. It seems I have

:06:20. > :06:24.been totally abandoned. And forgotten. His family told us of the

:06:25. > :06:30.anguish. I wanted to die right there on the spot, because he has no idea

:06:31. > :06:36.how hard we have tried to get him back. There are three Americans

:06:37. > :06:40.believed held in Iran, including a CIA contractor and agent, Bob

:06:41. > :06:46.Levinson, who disappeared five years ago. From the families of all the

:06:47. > :06:54.missing Americans, including two journalists held in Syria and

:06:55. > :06:55.Somalia, it has raised questions about what they would be prepared to

:06:56. > :07:08.trade for their freedom as well. high`stakes trip as world leaders

:07:09. > :07:11.decide how to handle President Putin. Tonight, images of the

:07:12. > :07:18.president working out in a hotel gym. A stranger also, apparently

:07:19. > :07:21.videotaping it. Some are asking if this was a security threat. Our

:07:22. > :07:27.correspondent travelling with the President tonight.

:07:28. > :07:33.He enters Europe to flex muscles on the stage. We won't accept Russia's

:07:34. > :07:38.occupation of Crimea or its violation of Ukrainian sovereignty.

:07:39. > :07:44.This video has been seen every word. President Obama in a hotel gym

:07:45. > :07:50.exercising his actual muscles, doing lunches, flies, working his biceps

:07:51. > :07:53.and doing cardio. Along with the President appears to be hotel guest

:07:54. > :07:59.working out also. One of them shooting this video. Including a

:08:00. > :08:03.half selfie. The Secret Service says there was no security breach because

:08:04. > :08:07.everybody in the hotel was screened and Secret Service agents were

:08:08. > :08:09.always nearby. They keep the President said, but it isn't their

:08:10. > :08:17.job to confiscate camera is cellphone. `` cameras or cellphones.

:08:18. > :08:21.Apparently he makes unsettled stops frequently, sometimes to lunch or,

:08:22. > :08:26.at last month, he went to the Washington Maule, surprising

:08:27. > :08:31.tourists. John joined us live now. If the White House bothered by the

:08:32. > :08:35.pictures? They are annoyed these images are out there but they are

:08:36. > :08:38.not concerned. They point out this is something the President has done

:08:39. > :08:42.hundreds of times, working out in hotel gyms when he travels. This

:08:43. > :08:49.just happens to be the first time someone decided to videotaping

:08:50. > :08:54.working out. Tonight, a new clue in the mystery flight MH370, missing

:08:55. > :08:57.488 days. We learnt a recording made by deep sea microphones the day the

:08:58. > :09:01.plane vanished is reigniting debate about whether plane might be. Some

:09:02. > :09:11.wonder if this is the moment the plane hit the water. Listen.

:09:12. > :09:17.Investigators say that sound could be flight MH370 on impact. But the

:09:18. > :09:21.map. It was recorded in the south Indian Ocean thousands of miles from

:09:22. > :09:24.the search area. But it say it doesn't add up and they say it is

:09:25. > :09:31.likely an underwater earthquake. 88 days since the plane vanished. A

:09:32. > :09:34.grim anniversary, 25 years ago that the massacre in Tiananmen Square

:09:35. > :09:39.happened, students mounting a protest and the deadly crack down by

:09:40. > :09:44.police. Our correspondent went back to look at the crowds, who were

:09:45. > :09:51.replaced by security cameras and checkpoints. Then and now. Troops

:09:52. > :09:55.marching, raising the Chinese flag. This injuring image tonight. The

:09:56. > :10:01.lone protest blocking tanks with his body. The mystery, who is he? Still

:10:02. > :10:05.unsolved all of these years later. Back home. Terrifying moments for

:10:06. > :10:10.the family in colour writer. A bouncy slide picked up and blown

:10:11. > :10:17.away by 30 mph winds. The parents watching it all as the children are

:10:18. > :10:21.trapped inside. An incredible sight. The parents and children who were

:10:22. > :10:27.inside describe the moment in the air. Our correspondent with the

:10:28. > :10:36.safety concerns tonight. AJ Ruta and Madison were playing at a park and

:10:37. > :10:44.we have seen what happened next. I flew out. Little AJ was stuck

:10:45. > :10:49.inside. I was thrown around a lot. I blacked out. The children only had

:10:50. > :10:55.minor injuries, incredibly. Their parents feared the worst. He was a

:10:56. > :11:01.motionless, expressionless, his eyes were open, in shock. The company

:11:02. > :11:06.tells ABC News it feels terrible. The wind came from nowhere. Believe

:11:07. > :11:13.it or not, these accidents are common. A 2010 study found 30 kids

:11:14. > :11:17.per day were rushed to hospital with these injuries. That is why it is

:11:18. > :11:22.important to use stakes to secure the rights and in high winds, no one

:11:23. > :11:26.should be in there. `` secure the rights. This boy was in hospital for

:11:27. > :11:32.eight days after a bounce house went flying. We have a long road ahead of

:11:33. > :11:36.us but he is killing OK. Meanwhile, the boy and girl 's parents are

:11:37. > :11:44.hoping their story sounds the alarm. I could have died from this, so I am

:11:45. > :11:49.very happy that I am OK. We are glad everyone is OK. Now to

:11:50. > :11:54.some poignant images as the nation prepares to mark the 70th

:11:55. > :11:58.anniversary of D`Day. Newly released images of the invasion of Normandy

:11:59. > :12:01.captured by planes flying overhead on the day. You can see that those

:12:02. > :12:06.nearing the shore where soldiers will race up the beach. Look in the

:12:07. > :12:09.distance, the plumes of smoke being French villages burning. We will

:12:10. > :12:14.have more to mark the day on Friday here on ABC World News. More ahead

:12:15. > :12:18.this Wednesday night. Putting your windows to the test when severe

:12:19. > :12:21.weather strikes. We sent debris, place of wood rocketing into the

:12:22. > :12:25.windows. Those taking them really well? The results tonight, what

:12:26. > :13:10.every family can do. Now to the severe weather warning at

:13:11. > :13:16.home. Millions on alert into tomorrow. One driver on the ground

:13:17. > :13:21.on a treacherous highway captured the lightning in misery. The same

:13:22. > :13:24.system marches east. The forecast, in a moment. First, our

:13:25. > :13:32.correspondent in the storm zone right now. Tonight, a second blast

:13:33. > :13:37.of severe storms marching across the Ohio and Tennessee valleys and

:13:38. > :13:44.Western Plains. Packing baseball sized windshield busting hail. At

:13:45. > :13:50.these car dealerships, hail damage costing $15 million. In Omaha,

:13:51. > :13:55.rescues by raft, strong winds in Kansas looking over train cars.

:13:56. > :14:01.Tonight come at neighbourhoods in tatters and pickup trucks are busy.

:14:02. > :14:07.When the storm hit, this giant maple tree came crashing down on his

:14:08. > :14:15.house. It could have been worse. I am thankful my kid was OK. I have a

:14:16. > :14:22.house. This storm has generated 350 reports of large hail, damaging wind

:14:23. > :14:25.the threat as it moves north`east is more wind and flash flooding ``

:14:26. > :14:30.damaging wind. More of a threat from chief

:14:31. > :14:34.meteorologist at the Powerhouse station in Philadelphia. You are

:14:35. > :14:39.tracking it from the weather centre. The last 24 hours, the storm report

:14:40. > :14:43.numbers have been astounding. We have more than 13 reports of

:14:44. > :14:47.tornadoes and it is not only tornadoes. More than 200 reports of

:14:48. > :14:53.wind and hail damage over eight dates. We are talking about 70`100

:14:54. > :14:57.mph winds. Some of the hail is the size of baseball 's. You are telling

:14:58. > :15:03.me the system is on the move. It is shifting to the south and east ``

:15:04. > :15:08.baseballs. The focus will be on Kentucky, Tennessee Valley and parts

:15:09. > :15:11.of the midwest. There is a secondary system developing across the plain

:15:12. > :15:14.states. There is the potential for strong wind, large hail and flash

:15:15. > :15:19.flooding with rain up to five inches. The focus on the severe

:15:20. > :15:23.weather from Wichita to Memphis and parts of eastern Colorado, here,

:15:24. > :15:28.more strong winds and again the potential for large hail. The next

:15:29. > :15:32.24 hours will be very active. Topping the instant index, breaking

:15:33. > :15:36.news about the owner of the LA Clippers. Word that Donald Sterling

:15:37. > :15:41.has agreed to sell his team and drop his lawsuit against the NBA. Steve

:15:42. > :15:43.Bulman and now buying the team for $2 billion. Next, hurricane season

:15:44. > :15:49.is here and severe hitting again, a test for the

:15:50. > :15:53.windows in your home. Insurance companies tell us the average cost

:15:54. > :15:58.to repair homes damaged by wind and hail is $6,500 after the major storm

:15:59. > :16:01.hits. Tonight, putting your windows to the test. Our correspondent has

:16:02. > :16:09.anthers with what works and what doesn't. `` has anthers. Are you

:16:10. > :16:16.ready if disaster hits? A flying projectile through a window. Eight

:16:17. > :16:20.inches of rainfall an hour. The power of a storm seen up close in a

:16:21. > :16:23.lab. Storms that batter and destroyed homes. It turns out, at

:16:24. > :16:27.your windows are one of the most vulnerable spots. Not just from

:16:28. > :16:34.flying glass, but broken windows can allow a storms pressure to rip your

:16:35. > :16:40.roof right. `` write`off. We had to be lab to find out how to protect

:16:41. > :16:44.the Windows. We are going to impact the product with a big piece of

:16:45. > :16:52.wood. That would hurt. It would. When a storm is coming, Tait at your

:16:53. > :16:57.Windows. I have covered dozens of storms. It doesn't help? Not at all.

:16:58. > :17:03.Just watch. Tape on the window didn't work. As you can see, the

:17:04. > :17:08.impact went completely through and you have larger pieces that could do

:17:09. > :17:17.damage. How about the plywood boards? Back at the lab... The

:17:18. > :17:19.results are better. Experts tell us that would provide inconsistent

:17:20. > :17:26.protection and could allow the windows to break. In the special

:17:27. > :17:32.Metal Storm shutters? The safest of all. Windows that can withstand

:17:33. > :17:36.winds of 200 mph, this one they are testing at 150 and look at it. It

:17:37. > :17:44.won't break. It is like it is breathing. We tested it. That is

:17:45. > :17:51.what is called high impact last. The laminate it is job. The pressure

:17:52. > :17:55.from the outset conference inside. `` outside. They are twice the cost

:17:56. > :17:57.of normal Windows. In the storm zone, when you wind is the last

:17:58. > :18:02.barrier between loved ones and the elements, it might be an investment

:18:03. > :18:06.worth making. Thank you for watching. From all of

:18:07. > :18:21.us here, have a good evening. After a fairly bitter and wet day on

:18:22. > :18:27.Wednesday, many of us will see an improvement through Thursday. We

:18:28. > :18:28.still have quite a bit of rain in many northern
