:00:00. > :00:00.`` if the sun is shining. Time now for a look at the news as

:00:07. > :00:08.seen across the United States a couple of hours ago, in ABC World

:00:09. > :00:14.News with Diane Sawyer. Tonight, on alert and bracing for

:00:15. > :00:17.tornadoes. More than 50 million in the path of the severe weather after

:00:18. > :00:25.the red twisters were caught on tape. We are on the scene to search

:00:26. > :00:30.for survivors. `` rare. US special forces moving in and capturing the

:00:31. > :00:35.suspected mastermind after the `` behind the Benghazi attack.

:00:36. > :00:38.And inside the fall. We hear from the women who fell as hundreds

:00:39. > :00:41.watched in horror. What we never knew. Their remarkable story of

:00:42. > :00:59.survival. Good evening. We begin with the

:01:00. > :01:03.watchers and warnings tonight. Millions bracing for severe weather.

:01:04. > :01:08.All part of the same system. The moment to twisters were on the

:01:09. > :01:12.ground. But we didn't know they were wiping out a small town. Tonight,

:01:13. > :01:18.the recovery is under way. Look at what remains. This is in Nebraska.

:01:19. > :01:25.The destruction. A parked car, covered in debris. Stunned

:01:26. > :01:28.neighbours. This tree split in half. A veteran meteorologist who grew up

:01:29. > :01:33.in that region is standing by. First, our correspondent on the

:01:34. > :01:41.ground for us tonight. It's ripping Opera `` a whole town.

:01:42. > :01:46.The nation has only seen two other tornadoes this year. If you look

:01:47. > :01:51.closely, those are rooftops and other structures swirling into the

:01:52. > :01:54.sky and crashing back to earth. This two headed monster that left two

:01:55. > :02:04.dead and brought heartache to families in this small town was

:02:05. > :02:13.likely of 200 mph. Damaged beyond repair. This couple lost everything.

:02:14. > :02:18.He survived take its `` taking cover in a neighbour's basement. I looked

:02:19. > :02:23.out at a big tornado was over their Andy Little one net. It was so

:02:24. > :02:29.unfair. Twin twisters destroying 40 homes. A school, bank and nearly

:02:30. > :02:34.levelling Nebraska. Meteorologists couldn't believe it. I have been

:02:35. > :02:38.doing this 10`15 years and I have never seen this. The mayor was

:02:39. > :02:44.injured and had to be treated. This is his house. Nearby, children at an

:02:45. > :02:48.at home daycare walked away from this. One of the children is

:02:49. > :02:57.hospitalised with a crushed hand. They had God watching over them. A

:02:58. > :03:02.cat they kept went missing. Her name was Miracle and she walked out alive

:03:03. > :03:08.today. And it wasn't just Nebraska. The storm went east. Late today,

:03:09. > :03:14.Michigan. More homes destroyed. This was a farm office, hit by one of the

:03:15. > :03:19.tornadoes. It has a brick facade at it didn't stand a chance. There's

:03:20. > :03:22.still the threat tonight. Incredible devastation. Thank you.

:03:23. > :03:27.As you heard, more severe weather on the way tonight. I want to bring you

:03:28. > :03:31.to somebody who knows that region well. I know you are from there, you

:03:32. > :03:34.grew up with those warnings. When you saw those videos, what did you

:03:35. > :03:41.see that we didn't see? Unbelievable. Very rare tornadoes.

:03:42. > :03:46.Often when we have an outbreak of multiple tornadoes, a smaller and

:03:47. > :03:51.less powerful but not in this case. Secondly, they were on the ground at

:03:52. > :03:56.the same time, only a couple of miles apart, rotating in the same

:03:57. > :04:02.direction. Very unusual. More severe weather tonight? More than 50

:04:03. > :04:08.million on alert? That's right. A threat in this area. `` in the east,

:04:09. > :04:12.we are worried some of the energy will pass here overnight tonight.

:04:13. > :04:19.Tomorrow, the same areas will be at risk. In addition, we have the heat.

:04:20. > :04:23.The temperatures will fill hotter because of the high humidity. The

:04:24. > :04:33.seas will be heated at over 100 degrees.

:04:34. > :04:38.Work that US special forces moved in and captured the so`called

:04:39. > :04:52.mastermind of the attack on Benghazi. For Americans were killed

:04:53. > :04:57.in the attack. The US had quickly determine the man they believed was

:04:58. > :05:01.one of the masterminds of the deadly attacks on Benghazi. But it was not

:05:02. > :05:07.until now 21 months later that the US was able to capture him.

:05:08. > :05:16.Identified as this man, the leader of an Islamist terrorist group. Our

:05:17. > :05:23.special forces, showing incredible courage, were able to capture an

:05:24. > :05:31.individual who is alleged to have been one of the masterminds of the

:05:32. > :05:33.attack. US officials say that Ahmed Abu Khattala had been under

:05:34. > :05:39.surveillance for months. It was interviewed by reporters for CNN

:05:40. > :05:45.denying his involvement and flaunting his presence in Benghazi.

:05:46. > :05:52.If a CNN reporter can have an interview with him in a cafe, why

:05:53. > :05:57.couldn't we get to him sooner? US officials say it was delayed after a

:05:58. > :05:58.public outreach of Libya over this video of the takedown of another

:05:59. > :06:03.accused terrorist in Tripoli last year. Today the mother of one of the

:06:04. > :06:10.Americans killed questions about what happened are

:06:11. > :06:16.still not answered. They got one of them. There was a whole bunch of

:06:17. > :06:21.them that set fire to that place. Officials say that he is being held

:06:22. > :06:24.on a US ship in the Mediterranean. He is being interrogated before

:06:25. > :06:32.being sent to the US for trial. Who ordered the attacks and where are

:06:33. > :06:39.the others who were involved? Thank you.

:06:40. > :06:43.Now to an image out of Baghdad. A mad dash by Iraq is to get their

:06:44. > :06:51.hands on American uniforms, vests and weapons left behind. You will

:06:52. > :06:58.see images of our troops practising what to do to get civilians out

:06:59. > :07:07.an embassy in trouble. The fighting today is fierce. And

:07:08. > :07:08.closer to Baghdad. Each mark on the map is now under control by the

:07:09. > :07:23.militant terrorist group. Baghdad, men promising to defend

:07:24. > :07:29.their city. In the markets we found a scramble to purchase weapons left

:07:30. > :07:33.behind by US forces. This market is a history of American military

:07:34. > :07:40.involvement in Iraq. You can see from the different types of

:07:41. > :07:45.uniforms, the different types of vests. And of course, many of them

:07:46. > :07:49.have the American label. Tonight, President Obama looking at what to

:07:50. > :07:53.do. Ranging from sending military advisers to striking the militants

:07:54. > :07:57.from the air. But the President indicated he does not want to simply

:07:58. > :08:06.prop up a government that has done nothing to unite its people. Then

:08:07. > :08:14.there is the US embassy. Bringing back memories of Iran, 1979, the US

:08:15. > :08:21.embassy siege and Benghazi. It is why diplomatic security agents train

:08:22. > :08:29.like this. A mock attack on a consulate which we recently

:08:30. > :08:36.witnessed. A simulated scramble to hold off the attackers. A battle. A

:08:37. > :08:43.battle America hopes will not have to be waged to protect the embassy

:08:44. > :08:48.in Baghdad. Preparations for a possible evacuation of the embassy

:08:49. > :08:53.have been intense. The fear is that Baghdad International airport might

:08:54. > :08:56.be overrun. If that happens, aircraft would likely land on

:08:57. > :09:06.embassy grounds to get the Americans out. In Israel, the search for those

:09:07. > :09:11.three missing teenagers is intensifying tonight. Now entering

:09:12. > :09:16.its fifth day. The boys, one of whom is an American citizen, disappeared

:09:17. > :09:26.when were hitchhiking. 40 people with ties to Ahmed Abu Khattala ``

:09:27. > :09:30.Hamas have been arrested. This one has not been searched.

:09:31. > :09:36.Authorities have taken the evidence and are planning the next such in

:09:37. > :09:42.the coming weeks. It is 102 days since the plane vanished. Much more

:09:43. > :09:45.ahead. Inside the human chandelier that collapsed as hundreds watched

:09:46. > :09:49.in horror. Tonight for the first time, you will hear for the women

:09:50. > :09:55.who were hanging by their error before they came crashing down.

:09:56. > :10:03.Have your grandkids ever faced a bully on the playground? Dogs facing

:10:04. > :11:23.the same thing. I do not know if your dog is the bully.

:11:24. > :11:31.Next tonight to the horror that played out as thousands of their

:11:32. > :11:40.children and parents were watching. Full it was a performance that went

:11:41. > :11:43.from dazzling to disaster. That circus rig holding eight women

:11:44. > :11:49.suspended only by their hair are collapsing, sending them plummeting

:11:50. > :11:55.to the ground. Four of them are speaking out for the first time. The

:11:56. > :12:03.performance today refused to talk about the accident. Another Acrobat

:12:04. > :12:11.described that terrible moment. About three seconds in, we heard a

:12:12. > :12:19.huge crack and we just vomited. It was really fast. I landed on my butt

:12:20. > :12:24.and elbows. I was breathing really hard. It is really hard to catch my

:12:25. > :12:28.breath. Five of the women remained in hospital. The accident is still

:12:29. > :12:35.under investigation. It is focused on a tiny piece of equipment. This

:12:36. > :12:36.carabiner is designed to support ?10,000. On the day of the accident

:12:37. > :12:53.it snapped. The circus said: both the women today say they are

:12:54. > :13:00.struggling and planning to sue. Her next step, she says, is simply

:13:01. > :13:04.taking one. Our instant index tonight. Take a

:13:05. > :13:08.look at this painting. A masterpiece by Picasso. Art experts have

:13:09. > :13:14.discovered another masterpiece underneath. A man with a bowtie.

:13:15. > :13:21.They believe it is Picasso, about 19 years old. He is reusing and

:13:22. > :13:27.expensive canvas. How much would you pay for the

:13:28. > :13:30.perfect fried chicken recipe? Or the $3 million to purchase the secret

:13:31. > :13:35.recipes that have already been paid for four years. `` 40 ?3 `` ?42

:13:36. > :13:45.million. 95 million Americans all doing the

:13:46. > :13:50.same thing. Watching that white Ford Bronco with O.J. Simpson inside.

:13:51. > :13:58.More people watched it then watch the Superbowl fattier. `` that

:13:59. > :14:04.year. Two years later, Ford discontinued vehicle.

:14:05. > :14:08.We are trying to get inside the mind of man's best friend. But the man

:14:09. > :14:16.who has studied the tapes for years, capping a sort of canine code.

:14:17. > :14:26.Denver, did you do this? Any dog owner will tell you that

:14:27. > :14:41.your dog has feelings. Guilt to pure joy. But researcher Mark back off to

:14:42. > :14:46.spend years analysing dogs that played says there is more going on.

:14:47. > :14:51.He has discovered dogs show reverse a sense of fairness and might even

:14:52. > :14:56.know right from wrong. They are rapidly exchanging signals. What has

:14:57. > :15:08.this great Dane invites the dog to play. This means, I want to be your

:15:09. > :15:12.friend. And take a look at this. That looks fierce, but this husky is

:15:13. > :15:20.holding back. It is called self handicapping. What happens when a

:15:21. > :15:23.dog does not play by the rules? This little guy tries to push his way

:15:24. > :15:31.into the action, but is left on the sidelines. Animals learn very fast

:15:32. > :15:44.that if they break the rules they will be ostracised. A lot more than

:15:45. > :15:46.just the same old tricks. I think he is still trying to push

:15:47. > :16:01.his way in. Have a good evening. Good evening. So far so good for the

:16:02. > :16:07.far north`west this week. We have seen some beautiful sunshine and

:16:08. > :16:12.some warmth as well. Yesterday we saw temperatures in Northern Ireland

:16:13. > :16:15.and western Scotland, 25`26 degrees. It looks like we could do it all

:16:16. > :16:16.again today, but there are some changes in the forecast from

:16:17. > :16:18.Thursday onwards,
