:00:56. > :00:58.about the powerful storms that have been rising with such startling
:00:59. > :01:05.speed and power people are racing to safety. Look and listen... That is
:01:06. > :01:09.the sound and fury of the storm that killed five, including a young boy,
:01:10. > :01:15.who walked off from his family at summer camp. A storm so swift,
:01:16. > :01:20.seconds meant the difference between life and death, and we are tracking
:01:21. > :01:22.it all right there on the radar. The storm system marching east. Our
:01:23. > :01:28.meteorologist in a moment, but first, we are in the storm on right
:01:29. > :01:31.now. Violent storms bearing down on the
:01:32. > :01:35.north`east again tonight, this after pounding upstate New York with
:01:36. > :01:44.blinding rain and deadly violent winds. At least six tornadoes across
:01:45. > :01:48.states. Across New York tonight, as they pick up the pieces, and mourn
:01:49. > :01:53.the loss of four. A mother and daughter dying when this home
:01:54. > :01:57.collapsed, and here, a man and his dog died when his house was
:01:58. > :02:04.literally carried into the air. So, this is the house that originally
:02:05. > :02:09.was right there. It was lifted up, you can see some of the screens
:02:10. > :02:15.there on that poll, and just carried right over onto another house. Have
:02:16. > :02:19.you ever seen anything like that? I have never seen anything like that.
:02:20. > :02:25.From west Virginia to Vermont, more than 300 severe weather reports.
:02:26. > :02:31.Uprooting trees in Ohio, and at a summer camp in Maryland, more than
:02:32. > :02:35.100 children, ages 7`12, were at an outside event and tried running
:02:36. > :02:39.inside. The camp director so they try brushing more than 100 campers
:02:40. > :02:43.to safety, but they were too late. It 12`year`old boy was killed by a
:02:44. > :02:48.falling tree. Six more were injured. Tonight, they are reviewing safety
:02:49. > :02:54.procedures. It looks like a tornado went through a small section of this
:02:55. > :03:01.camp, right where the campers were. Falling trees are one of the big
:03:02. > :03:05.killers in storms. Tonight, here in Smithfield, New York, families are
:03:06. > :03:10.beginning to deal with this destruction and loss of life. What
:03:11. > :03:19.makes this so much harder to look at, is that some homes are
:03:20. > :03:23.completely untouched. It is happening again tonight, as
:03:24. > :03:30.you alluded to earlier. Let me show you them up. I really want to focus
:03:31. > :03:38.on the north`east, because anywhere from Virginia up three New
:03:39. > :03:43.Hampshire, there are already warning is coming up on the map. When you
:03:44. > :03:50.hear a warning it means it is already happening or it is imminent.
:03:51. > :03:53.Are the new ways of getting those warnings? We have the oldest and
:03:54. > :03:57.best way right here. That would be the radio, you can get these, they
:03:58. > :04:03.are inexpensive and lifesaving. The other thing is wireless alerts that
:04:04. > :04:07.are coming out. The government has come together, you will see a text
:04:08. > :04:12.message pop up on your phone, and that is coming free of charge. Most
:04:13. > :04:16.of us get those, some of us don't. If you don't, you can sign up with a
:04:17. > :04:25.national weather service for others. Or, there are perhaps, either way
:04:26. > :04:29.you have to take responsibility. Next, to the danger in the Middle
:04:30. > :04:35.east. A moment everyone watched with concern, rockets launched directly
:04:36. > :04:43.at a nuclear plant in Israel. The famous iron Dome tried to blast it
:04:44. > :04:52.out of the sky, but both sides are caught in the crossfire. In Gaza,
:04:53. > :04:56.and Israel, families huddling trying to keep safe. Hamish McDonald was
:04:57. > :05:01.there. This wedding, just south of Tel
:05:02. > :05:06.Aviv, is interrupted by sirens. We see the bride and groom running,
:05:07. > :05:12.knowing they have one and a half minutes to find shelter. For
:05:13. > :05:17.Israelis this is a well rehearsed response. This is usually an
:05:18. > :05:20.underground parking Garrard, but if there is a strike, tens of thousands
:05:21. > :05:25.of people can run down here. There is enough space for the entire
:05:26. > :05:31.population of Tel Aviv to move underground. Today, three long`range

:05:43. > :05:46.could have been catastrophic. New Hamas rockets are now capable of

:05:51. > :05:55.skyline tonight. Israel's PM promised those firing them would pay
:05:56. > :05:59.a heavy price. 40,000 reservists have been called up as part of a
:06:00. > :06:05.move towards a possible ground invasion of the strip. The divisions
:06:06. > :06:14.between Israel and the Palestinians are wide, but geographic differences
:06:15. > :06:20.are tiny. Rockets from Gaza fired at Tel Aviv travel just over 40 miles.
:06:21. > :06:23.There is no question Israel has overwhelming military muscle when it
:06:24. > :06:27.comes to taking on Hamas, but for the people of Gaza it is clear. A

:08:41. > :08:45.surveilled. Names and e`mails were found on this document taken by
:08:46. > :08:53.Edward Snowden and turned over to the journalist Glenn Greenwald.

:09:01. > :09:03.or terror plots. The revelations came on the same day as
:09:04. > :09:09.extraordinary diplomatic fireworks over spying with the United States
