:00:00. > :00:00.A lot more as always on our website. Time now for a look at the news as

:00:00. > :00:00.seen across the United States a couple of hours ago, in ABC World

:00:00. > :00:13.News with David Muir. Welcome to world news. Tonight,

:00:14. > :00:18.breaking developments in the city on edge. The teargas, the rubber

:00:19. > :00:25.bullets and that protesters. Molotov cocktails and the police. Is there a

:00:26. > :00:30.change in command on the streets? And the police chief, what he is

:00:31. > :00:32.telling the world news about that officer.

:00:33. > :00:40.A stunning details about Robin Williams. What he was facing in the

:00:41. > :00:48.final days. The explosions caught on tape rocking and American city.

:00:49. > :00:50.What caused this? And a surprise for his mother.

:00:51. > :01:13.A dream come true. Good evening. It is great to have

:01:14. > :01:19.you with us. We begin with simmering tension just outside Saint Lewis,

:01:20. > :01:25.Missouri. The police will take control of the streets in Ferguson,

:01:26. > :01:31.Missouri. It comes after those images overnight. Anger erupting yet

:01:32. > :01:37.again. So many families demanding answers. One protester is preparing

:01:38. > :01:43.to throw a flaming bottle at a line of officers. And the front page

:01:44. > :01:48.saying it all. The President has an urgent plea to both sides. And we

:01:49. > :01:54.asked the police chief if and when he will reveal the name of that

:01:55. > :02:00.officer. Our coverage begins on the ground tonight. Good evening.

:02:01. > :02:04.This is a city in desperate need of peace and understanding. The

:02:05. > :02:07.Governor has relieved local police of their patrol duties and from

:02:08. > :02:15.tonight on, the highway patrol will cover the streets.

:02:16. > :02:17.This is not the Middle East. The police in these pictures are

:02:18. > :02:46.throwing teargas at Negroes `` That. 16 were people in jail.

:02:47. > :02:49.Witnesses say that for no good reason, police in riot gear walked

:02:50. > :02:53.into this restaurant and force everybody to be. And they put the

:02:54. > :03:00.report recording it all in handcuffs for the night.

:03:01. > :03:02.armed men taking you into custody saying that you are resisting arrest

:03:03. > :03:08.when you are not, that is frightening. This picture of SWAT

:03:09. > :03:16.teams during teargas to want a camera crew. What is police point

:03:17. > :03:20.the camera to the ground. The only people being violent of the police.

:03:21. > :03:25.The President condemning the feeling that took place earlier this week.

:03:26. > :03:31.But calling to an end to the police state. There is never an excuse for

:03:32. > :03:38.violence against the police or for those who would use this tragedy as

:03:39. > :03:42.cover for a vandalism wanting. Today there was a turn in the reaction to

:03:43. > :03:48.Michael Brown's killing. Officials were listening to demonstrators. I

:03:49. > :03:55.would have said, you're off your rocker. The Governor meeting with

:03:56. > :03:55.civil rights leaders. Saying authorities should identify the

:03:56. > :04:05.They need to let protesters protest officer who shot beating now. `` the

:04:06. > :04:11.They need to let protesters protest peacefully. They need to release

:04:12. > :04:15.that man's name. The police chief says he will not identify this

:04:16. > :04:18.police officer unless he is forced to by the courts.

:04:19. > :04:25.He says he is concerned for the officer's safety.

:04:26. > :04:28.The dramatic pictures from Missouri sparking pointed reaction across

:04:29. > :04:33.this country on the kind of force being used by the police. The images

:04:34. > :04:37.we have seen that protesters face to face with rows of officers in riot

:04:38. > :04:45.gear. Many are drawn comparisons to scenes decades ago. How these

:04:46. > :04:50.peaceful protests in the afternoon suddenly turned into a violent clash

:04:51. > :04:57.at night. And the debate over how the police should respond.

:04:58. > :05:03.By day, protesters have been largely peaceful. Demonstrators demanding

:05:04. > :05:11.justice. The message is clear. But to win night. A different story. The

:05:12. > :05:14.confrontation taking a violent turn. Police bringing out those

:05:15. > :05:20.armoured cars and an arsenal of heavy weapons. Tactics many argue

:05:21. > :05:28.are more appropriate to a war zone. A young man confronted by heavily

:05:29. > :05:35.armed officers. Many questioning if the police response fits the threat.

:05:36. > :05:37.Police defended their actions. Property is getting destroyed.

:05:38. > :05:43.People are being shot at. We have to respond. But tonight, a change of

:05:44. > :05:51.tactics. State troopers are taking over. Ferguson will not be defined

:05:52. > :06:01.as a community torn apart by violence. It has struck a national

:06:02. > :06:08.no. You have to listen. Hundreds gathering for this picture. People

:06:09. > :06:15.of all ethnicities across the country are posting pictures in

:06:16. > :06:19.solidarity. There is never an excuse for

:06:20. > :06:26.violence, says the president, and no excuse for police to use excessive

:06:27. > :06:31.force against peaceful protests. We will turn to that developing

:06:32. > :06:33.headline about Robin Williams. Is wafer leasing a statement thanking

:06:34. > :06:39.everybody for the outpouring of good wishes. `` is wafer leasing. But she

:06:40. > :06:45.also reveals that Robin Williams had received their Parkinson's diagnosis

:06:46. > :06:50.and was not ready to reveal it to the world.

:06:51. > :06:54.We are learning about one more struggle faced by Robin Williams in

:06:55. > :07:00.the months before he died. His sobriety was intact, his wife said

:07:01. > :07:07.in a written statement. He struggled with depression, anxiety and early

:07:08. > :07:13.stages of Parkinson's disease. He was not ready to show that publicly.

:07:14. > :07:19.Early Parkinson's consists of slowness and postural changes so

:07:20. > :07:26.people lean forward. Around 1.5 million Americans have Parkinson is.

:07:27. > :07:33.Research suggests a link between the disease and clinical depression.

:07:34. > :07:41.Michael J Fox just set on Twitter...

:07:42. > :07:50.His family, who have all requested privacy since his death, are all

:07:51. > :07:52.sharing their memories of the men we thought we all knew, but only new

:07:53. > :08:05.on`screen. His youngest son said: his wife hopes others might live,

:08:06. > :08:38.learning a lesson from how he died. Robin Williams' widow says that the

:08:39. > :08:44.family had sought comfort in the outpouring of grief.

:08:45. > :09:01.It must have been so painful for this family to reveal this today. We

:09:02. > :09:06.know that major depression occurs in 20%` 40% of people with Parkinson's

:09:07. > :09:11.disease. It is very difficult to treat depression in a patient with

:09:12. > :09:12.Parkinson's disease. There is excellent treatment now and there is

:09:13. > :09:25.reason for hope. Historic rains and deadly flash

:09:26. > :09:30.floods on Long Island, New York, major islands becoming rivers. Here

:09:31. > :09:36.are firefighters rescuing a stranded driver. In Maryland, roads washed

:09:37. > :09:46.away, giant sinkholes, and huge hazards.

:09:47. > :09:55.Tonight, the wounds from flooding exposed. Too much rain, too fast,

:09:56. > :09:59.from Maryland to Maine. Overnight, more than half a foot of rain

:10:00. > :10:04.falling in Portland. Folks shovelling it out of this gym. I

:10:05. > :10:09.have been in some bad weather, but to have six inches of rain in a

:10:10. > :10:14.couple of hours, to see how fast this parking lot filled up, is

:10:15. > :10:19.nothing I have ever seen. Pumps still working in Maryland, cleaning

:10:20. > :10:24.up after 15 inches were dropped. Watch this from New Mexico, rescue

:10:25. > :10:28.crews saving this man from the raging floodwaters. He was

:10:29. > :10:34.reportedly carried three miles before they got him out.

:10:35. > :10:43.Stunning pictures. In another part of the country, they are facing much

:10:44. > :10:51.the same. Tucson, Colorado, other places facing these problems. In

:10:52. > :10:57.Colorado Springs, we saw almost an inch of rain in 20 minutes. Parts of

:10:58. > :11:09.misery, Iowa, Illinois, they will be having severe storms and flooding.

:11:10. > :11:13.Not in the clear yet. PM of Iraq, Nouri al`Maliki, agreeing to step

:11:14. > :11:17.down. It is something the White House said was necessary to try to

:11:18. > :11:22.pull the country together. President Obama revealing that the immediate

:11:23. > :11:27.humanitarian crisis has been eased. Thousands of refugees marooned on a

:11:28. > :11:36.mountaintop, desperately climbing into helicopters, some are now able

:11:37. > :11:39.to reach safety. Aside from the humanitarian mission, there is

:11:40. > :11:49.another mission that carries on. We will continue air strikes. No

:11:50. > :11:55.timeline given. No timeline, there were several

:11:56. > :11:58.strikes by fighter jets and drones today, aimed at ISIS targets. The

:11:59. > :12:02.President made it clear that these types of air strikes will be carried

:12:03. > :12:12.out with no end in sight. The bottomline, as long as ISIS's

:12:13. > :12:15.militance pose a threat to cities like Irbil, the strikes will be

:12:16. > :12:21.ongoing. It is about protecting the Americans, and very critically

:12:22. > :12:26.tonight, it is about defending these key cities. If Irbil falls, the fear

:12:27. > :12:36.that ISIS will control the north of Iraq, and then next stop will be an

:12:37. > :12:44.assault on Baghdad. Now, the hunt for two young Amish

:12:45. > :12:48.girls who were abducted from their front yard and driven away. It is

:12:49. > :12:54.difficult, because there are no pictures of the girls, because they

:12:55. > :12:59.are from that community, and they speak a dialect.

:13:00. > :13:04.Tonight, a race against time. Those two Amish girls, vanished. We

:13:05. > :13:09.investigation is a worst`case scenario, because it is the only way

:13:10. > :13:15.we know how. 12`year`old Fanny and her sister Delilah, working in their

:13:16. > :13:21.family's roadside vegetable stand. A white, 4`door sedan, pulled up. When

:13:22. > :13:24.it drove off the girls were gone. Their family living in this

:13:25. > :13:29.traditional Amish community of 10,000. They have no phone, they ran

:13:30. > :13:35.to a neighbour's house to call police. Rescue workers searching

:13:36. > :13:38.underwater. Police only have this sketch to work from, because in

:13:39. > :13:44.Amish tradition, being photographed is not allowed. We have no photos to

:13:45. > :13:50.begin with, it is a belief within the Amish community, so we did well

:13:51. > :13:54.to get this sketch. Police are scouring the countryside, watching

:13:55. > :13:59.the border closely. Canada is only ten miles away. Police say no lead

:14:00. > :14:05.is too small. They know time is not on their side.

:14:06. > :14:08.Around the world tonight, and to South Korea where Pope Francis

:14:09. > :14:13.appealed for peace between the two Koreas. In a rare move, he also

:14:14. > :14:16.spoke English. The pontiff made friends there because of the car he

:14:17. > :14:25.chose to pick him up at the airport. A humble, Korean made compact car.

:14:26. > :14:43.We heard Pope Francis speaking in the language he rarely uses.

:14:44. > :14:46.At Arlington national cemetery, a funeral for a fallen soldier. Major

:14:47. > :14:51.General Harold General Harold Greene was buried

:14:52. > :14:58.with solemn rituals. He is the first commando killed in a combat

:14:59. > :15:02.situation since the start of the war.

:15:03. > :15:14.There is much more ahead. This Thursday night, the unbelievable

:15:15. > :15:20.pictures of these guises of fire `` geysers. And, one mother receiving a

:15:21. > :16:40.surprise. What was waiting for her in that way? `` doorway.

:16:41. > :16:46.Now to Nashville, with manhole covers blasting off and columns of

:16:47. > :16:55.fire shooting into the air. What is causing it?

:16:56. > :17:00.This video, taken only seconds after a tanker rolled over while making a

:17:01. > :17:06.turn. The tanker explodes in a fireball, spilling toxic fuel into

:17:07. > :17:10.an underground drainage system leading to a nearby creek. It

:17:11. > :17:13.jackknifed and turned over and exploded. The dramatic moments

:17:14. > :17:25.recorded on this 911 call. Amazingly, officials say as the fuel

:17:26. > :17:31.spread through the underground storm drains, vapours triggered explosions

:17:32. > :17:36.blocks away. This man was standing just feet away from a manhole

:17:37. > :17:45.cover, which suddenly erupts at the cannon being fired. Watch again.

:17:46. > :17:48.This time from a different view. Experts say, for a heavily loaded

:17:49. > :17:54.tanker, any turn is potentially dangerous. In 2007, a tanker rolled

:17:55. > :17:58.over and burst into flames in Oakland, California. Somehow, the

:17:59. > :18:06.driver of the truck escaped with minor injuries. Because of the

:18:07. > :18:12.accident under investigation. Celine Dion fans reeling. All Las

:18:13. > :18:15.Vegas concerts and tour dates cancelled indefinitely, as she

:18:16. > :18:21.reveals she is taking care of her husband. He is having a second out

:18:22. > :18:26.with throat cancer, and she decided family comes first. And, this woman

:18:27. > :18:30.thought she was helping her son with a video project as they walk down

:18:31. > :18:39.these days. Then he hands her a mysterious envelope. This didn't

:18:40. > :18:45.come in the mail. What the... She opens it and find the key. The

:18:46. > :18:51.surprise outside the door. It is the car she always wanted, from back

:18:52. > :18:55.when he was a boy. A 1973 Saab. He told us he saved up for it for a

:18:56. > :19:01.year. His mum lost her job 2.5 years ago, and he was determined to get

:19:02. > :19:14.the dream car he heard about is a little boy.

:19:15. > :19:20.There were a lot of heavy and thundery showers around yesterday.

:19:21. > :19:26.There was the siting of a funnel cloud in love are, in

:19:27. > :19:29.Leicestershire. There may be some heavy showers around, but not to the

:19:30. > :19:33.same extent. Fewer showers and more sunshine. Many places were starting

:19:34. > :19:34.Friday
