:01:49. > :02:03.are going bananas in Australia. The votes have been cast and the
:02:04. > :02:07.results are in, the Japanese Prime Minister has been handed a fresh

:02:13. > :02:16.ruling coalition secured a two thirds parliamentary supermajority
:02:17. > :02:23.which will also give him the ability to push for a revision of Japan's
:02:24. > :02:30.post-war constitution. Earlier we discussed the policy implications of
:02:31. > :02:34.this historic win. It no one seems more likely he will press ahead with
:02:35. > :02:38.the sales tax hike in 2019, he's made it clear in the run-up to the
:02:39. > :02:46.elections and that could deal quite a blow to the economy in 2019. You
:02:47. > :02:52.say that's a blow to the economy, but his attempt to stimulate the
:02:53. > :02:59.economy, his three arrows, fiscal spending, was policy and reform, has
:03:00. > :03:03.he succeeded in those? In fiscal policy he has mostly tightened
:03:04. > :03:08.fiscal policy he's had some success in reducing the budget deficit so
:03:09. > :03:12.that's been a headwind for the economy recovering. But monetary
:03:13. > :03:17.policy has indeed been very supportive, interest rates at record
:03:18. > :03:22.lows, firms are borrowing the most since the early 90s. The one area
:03:23. > :03:25.where there has been not much success is structural reforms. That
:03:26. > :03:31.is what most people had hoped for but we have not really seen much on
:03:32. > :03:37.that front. Let's take a look at how the markets are reacting to this

:03:50. > :03:54.Tesla could be close to reaching a deal to set up a factory in China
:03:55. > :03:58.but there are some major hopes they will have to jump through before

:04:10. > :04:13.Earlier this year of did say they were in talks with the Shanghai
:04:14. > :04:16.municipal government to build their own factory and now the Wall Street
:04:17. > :04:22.Journal is reporting today that this plan may actually go ahead and be
:04:23. > :04:26.put in place by the end of the year. This is uncharted territory for any
:04:27. > :04:30.foreign car-maker in China, the way the regulations stand at this point,
:04:31. > :04:34.they can really do this on their own, they had to set up a joint
:04:35. > :04:39.venture with the domestic auto maker to make cars on the mainland. What
:04:40. > :04:44.that means essentially is a company like Tesla have to give half of
:04:45. > :04:47.their profits to this other company and potentially have to give
:04:48. > :04:54.intellectual property which is something Tesla really wants to hold
:04:55. > :04:58.onto. There is also the issue of cost, buying a foreign car in China
:04:59. > :05:04.is massively expensive, there is a 25% tariff on imports. If you want
:05:05. > :05:08.to buy a Tesla it's roughly 20% more in China than the US. China are
:05:09. > :05:15.trying to get more hybrid and green cars on the road so they have free
:05:16. > :05:20.enterprise system, free trade zone that Tesla can build this back
:05:21. > :05:25.today. They will still had to pay the 25% tariff but the production
:05:26. > :05:29.costs will be cheaper. All right, hopefully people go and buy them
:05:30. > :05:34.then. Now is the year-end holiday season inches closer many people are
:05:35. > :05:39.already booking flights and travel accommodation and its increasingly

:10:22. > :10:27.Genes are taken from these well banana plants and added into the
