:01:30. > :01:45.The Government has been accused of watering down its long-awaited

:01:46. > :01:48.strategy to tackle childhood obesity in England.

:01:49. > :01:50.Campaigners are angry that the action plan

:01:51. > :01:55.that will be published tomorrow does not contain curbs on junk food

:01:56. > :01:57.advertising or restrictions on cut-price supermarket promotions.

:01:58. > :01:59.Instead, the onus is on more physical activity in schools

:02:00. > :02:04.and a scheme for the food industry to cut sugar content in food

:02:05. > :02:07.and drink enjoyed by children by 20% over the next four years.

:02:08. > :02:15.And a tax on drinks with added sugar will be confirmed.

:02:28. > :02:29.pupils keep fit and avoid longer term health problems

:02:30. > :02:32.The Government's strategy aims to further boost physical

:02:33. > :02:38.Healthy food for school meals is another part of the plan here

:02:39. > :02:40.in the London borough of Haringey, but there's a recognition there's

:02:41. > :02:44.only so much they can do and there's a much bigger problem to be dealt

:02:45. > :02:53.We're surrounded in this area by a whole host of cheap, you know,

:02:54. > :02:58.99p chicken and chips meal deals and if you're on a lower income,

:02:59. > :03:00.you know, you'll be drawn to those deals, or supermarkets that

:03:01. > :03:03.are offering perhaps lower quality food at a price that's affordable.

:03:04. > :03:07.The new Government plan for England is trying to tackle that,

:03:08. > :03:09.focusing on cutting added sugar content of products in shops.

:03:10. > :03:12.Food price promotions are more widespread in the UK

:03:13. > :03:17.Making healthy choices isn't always easy, as this mum,

:03:18. > :03:23.A lot of the stuff that are on offer are usually

:03:24. > :03:25.the unhealthy stuff, the cakes, the biscuits, the crisps.

:03:26. > :03:28.The things that are healthy, like the vegetables, the fruits,

:03:29. > :03:31.they're the things that are never like buy one, get one free.

:03:32. > :03:35.The Government's new childhood obesity plan tomorrow is expected

:03:36. > :03:43.to include action on the reformulation of products to contain

:03:44. > :03:46.20% less sugar over the next four years, and moves to promote

:03:47. > :03:55.there will be no action on low price supermarket deals

:03:56. > :03:57.on unhealthy food and promotions during family TV shows.

:03:58. > :04:00.Work on the obesity strategy has been going on for months

:04:01. > :04:03.David Cameron had been set to unveil it.

:04:04. > :04:06.Now, Theresa May has taken her own view on what's

:04:07. > :04:08.a reasonable balance between voluntary action

:04:09. > :04:15.vulnerable to the charge that it's been watered down.

:04:16. > :04:17.Based on what they've heard, public health campaigners say

:04:18. > :04:19.the strategy has left out important measures, so it's

:04:20. > :04:25.I think this is a major crisis that we face in children's obesity,

:04:26. > :04:30.and a major crisis for the public health in the UK in general.

:04:31. > :04:36.So we are very disappointed if these measures are not taken.

:04:37. > :04:41.Ministers will highlight the moves to encourage more sport in schools,

:04:42. > :04:44.details of the tax on sugary drinks, which is in addition

:04:45. > :04:48.Plans in Scotland to improve diets have also been published today.

:04:49. > :04:56.Policy makers can only hope the measures do something to reduce

:04:57. > :04:59.what is seen as a major threat to the nation's health.

:05:00. > :05:07.There are some concrete measures - why are campaigners angry?

:05:08. > :05:12.One senior health source put it to me, if you had said a year ago, the

:05:13. > :05:17.Government would be introducing a sugar tax and cutting sugar content

:05:18. > :05:20.on a whole range of food and drink, you might have thought it was a

:05:21. > :05:23.significant. That is the way the Government will present it tomorrow.

:05:24. > :05:28.But attention has focused on what is NOT in it. Public Health England

:05:29. > :05:34.came up with proposals last autumn which included curbs on and on

:05:35. > :05:36.supermum supermarket promotions - and they are not in the plan,

:05:37. > :05:41.leading to suggestions that the whole thing has been deluded. People

:05:42. > :05:46.have been highlighting the cost to the NHS, more than ?5 billion a year

:05:47. > :05:48.in England. It is being published in August, during the Parliamentary

:05:49. > :05:53.recess, during the Olympics. The Prime Minister, the Health Secretary

:05:54. > :05:56.and the Chancellor are all away. People are asking, does this raise

:05:57. > :06:00.questions about the Government's commitment to this agenda?

:06:01. > :06:02.Rio's Olympic Games are already the most successful ever

:06:03. > :06:05.overseas Games for Team GB, with the team still in second place

:06:06. > :06:11.The golden couple, cyclists Laura Trott and Jason Kenny,

:06:12. > :06:14.certainly gave the medal table a boost last night as they became

:06:15. > :06:16.Britain's most successful female and male Olympians.

:06:17. > :06:22.They've been talking to our sports editor, Dan Roan.

:06:23. > :06:28.It's a record-breaking relationship like no other.

:06:29. > :06:31.Jason Kenny and Laura Trott are now the most successful male and female

:06:32. > :06:36.After their heroics last night in the Velodrome,

:06:37. > :06:39.they now have 10 gold medals between them.

:06:40. > :06:41.But today, here in Rio, they told me their phenomenal

:06:42. > :06:48.During London 2012 of course, when you were spotted canoodling

:06:49. > :06:52.behind Becks that day in the stands, you're now the new Posh and Becks,

:06:53. > :06:56.I mean are you ready for this upsurge in interest

:06:57. > :06:58.in the two of you when you get home?

:06:59. > :07:01.I mean, we still feel like Laura and Jason,

:07:02. > :07:05.We still feel like the, I don't know, the couple,

:07:06. > :07:07.like you say, we were together before London, it's just

:07:08. > :07:11.We like to live quite, I guess, a normal and quiet life.

:07:12. > :07:14.Like, we live literally in the middle of nowhere and it's

:07:15. > :07:17.quite nice that we go out for dog walks and we don't see anybody

:07:18. > :07:21.That's the way we've always kind of been.

:07:22. > :07:24.I guess, yeah, it might change and, if it does, then, we'll kind

:07:25. > :07:28.But, yeah, like I say, for us, we still feel

:07:29. > :07:32.Trott's dominant victory in the omnium last night

:07:33. > :07:34.brought her a fourth gold medal of a glittering Olympic career.

:07:35. > :07:36.COMMENTATOR: It is a special, special Olympic moment

:07:37. > :07:39.You're only 24? Weird.

:07:40. > :07:45.It's not something you kind of go out to try and achieve.

:07:46. > :07:49.In London, it felt like all my dreams had kind of come true,

:07:50. > :07:52.so to try and back it up then after that, I didn't quite know how

:07:53. > :07:55.It just seems, kind of, insane to me.

:07:56. > :07:59.Like, it doesn't seem like something I could have achieved.

:08:00. > :08:03.It's all the more remarkable given her premature birth

:08:04. > :08:13.a solution in the saddle, even trying on Bradley Wiggins' gold

:08:14. > :08:18.She decided she liked it and never looked back.

:08:19. > :08:20.When you're watching your fiancee opening up a points race

:08:21. > :08:22.and you're hoping that all her dreams come true.

:08:23. > :08:27.So, yeah, I was massively proud and dead happy for her.

:08:28. > :08:30.Kenny, meanwhile, won his sixth Olympic gold in the keirin,

:08:31. > :08:33.Kenny, meanwhile, won his sixth Olympic gold in the keirin..

:08:34. > :08:36...emulating the achievement of his former team-mate

:08:37. > :08:42.In British cycling we have a system where we just focus on going

:08:43. > :08:44.through the process and taking each race as it comes.

:08:45. > :08:46.So, that's kind of what I've been doing.

:08:47. > :08:48.This morning, just waking up with three gold medals,

:08:49. > :08:51.Remarkably, all 14 members of Britain's track cycling

:08:52. > :08:55.?30 million worth of investment, the most of any team

:08:56. > :08:59.Although one beaten opponent called Team GB's ability to deliver when it

:09:00. > :09:03.What do you make of that kind of comment from a rival?

:09:04. > :09:06.Well, I think it's understandable, at the end of the day, you know.

:09:07. > :09:11.We go to the World Championships six months ago and we went well and then

:09:12. > :09:14.we come to the Olympics and we go slightly better.

:09:15. > :09:16.Very often other nations come to the Olympics and sometimes seem

:09:17. > :09:18.to go slightly worse, which seems bizarre to us

:09:19. > :09:21.because the Olympics is everything, you know, to our team amd

:09:22. > :09:23.we couldn't imagine, you know, we'd be absolutely

:09:24. > :09:26.devastated if we weren't going on the form of our life here.

:09:27. > :09:29.Here in Rio, Team GB achieved its target of a best ever away Games

:09:30. > :09:32.and the British Olympic Association says it's not a one-off.

:09:33. > :09:34.The really encouraging thing is, if you look through our medal

:09:35. > :09:36.success, it's not just about the medals we've won

:09:37. > :09:40.here in Rio, but there's a really strong generation coming

:09:41. > :09:45.And I think that Team GB is going to be a power

:09:46. > :09:47.in Olympic sport for many, many years to come.

:09:48. > :09:49.And that should include Kenny and Trott, the power

:09:50. > :09:52.couple of Olympic sport, set to be the driving force behind

:09:53. > :10:00.British success long into the future.

:10:01. > :10:04.Well, Team GB is guaranteed another Gold medal in the Women's 470,

:10:05. > :10:07.with Hannah Mills and Saskia Clark so far in the lead,

:10:08. > :10:13.but there was one missing ingredient - wind.

:10:14. > :10:17.Elsewhere, Mo Farah was back in action today

:10:18. > :10:21.In a moment of drama, as he almost fell again.

:10:22. > :10:32.Sun shine and sail, what a gourdious combination. Well, for fans anyway.

:10:33. > :10:39.For the sailors, wind is preferable and there was a distinct lack of

:10:40. > :10:44.that. Clark and Hannah Mills are guaranteed gold if they can finish

:10:45. > :10:47.their final 470 race. Their victory lap has been postponed though until

:10:48. > :10:51.tomorrow. We were quite looking forward to a good night sleep

:10:52. > :10:55.tonight with it all done. I guess we go through the whole process again,

:10:56. > :10:59.try and stay calm, eat properly and drink properly and get sleep ready

:11:00. > :11:04.for tomorrow. In the athletics stadium a glimpse of a defending

:11:05. > :11:09.Champion in the heats of 5,000 meters. Mo Farah wasn't going to let

:11:10. > :11:15.the blazing sunshine today affect his chance of reaching Saturday's

:11:16. > :11:20.final. A tussle on the home straight put hearts in mouths. But he brushed

:11:21. > :11:26.it off to qualify. In the mid morning sun though one athlete was

:11:27. > :11:30.feeling the heat more than most. Like Mo Farah Semenya is well used

:11:31. > :11:38.to being in the media spotlight. The the focus on her ability is whether

:11:39. > :11:42.she has an unfair advantage. She has elevated testosterone levels. She

:11:43. > :11:46.had to take medication to suppress it and her race time suffered. Since

:11:47. > :11:50.a court challenge lifted that rule, her 800 meter times have improved to

:11:51. > :11:56.the point where she's now the hot favourite to take gold in Saturday's

:11:57. > :12:01.final. In many ways though, Semenya can't win. Team GB won bronze in

:12:02. > :12:05.London, the women's hockey team is hoping for even better in Leo. They

:12:06. > :12:09.are playing New Zealand right now and are just minutes away from

:12:10. > :12:13.finding out if they can make the final. If you're going to reach the

:12:14. > :12:19.final of your home Olympics, you might as well do it in style. Neymar

:12:20. > :12:30.had the fastest goal in Olympic history they went on to win 6-0. If

:12:31. > :12:35.you have ever had sleepless nights wondering what ha human skipping

:12:36. > :12:42.rope would look like, fret no more. Fans seemed to enjoy the borderline

:12:43. > :12:50.bizarre spectacle. Natalie pishgs, BBC News, Rio.

:12:51. > :12:53.A senior Olympic official has been arrested by police investigating

:12:54. > :12:57.Patrick Hickey was held in a dawn raid at his hotel in Rio,

:12:58. > :13:00.on suspicion of being involved in an alleged scheme to sell tickets

:13:01. > :13:04.He has temporarily stepped down from his roles as president

:13:05. > :13:06.of the European Olympic Committees, and head of the Olympic Council

:13:07. > :13:08.of Ireland, while investigations continue.

:13:09. > :13:17.Tell us more about these allegations? Sophie, Patrick Hickey,

:13:18. > :13:22.who is 71 was, or at least was he resigned, one of the most senior

:13:23. > :13:27.figures in Irish and European Olympic circles he was arrested at

:13:28. > :13:31.his luxury Rio hotel. According to Brazilian Police his wife had told

:13:32. > :13:37.them that Mr Hibgy had left and was back in ired. They found him in an

:13:38. > :13:40.ajoining room. He is accused by Brazilian police of forming a cartel

:13:41. > :13:48.of being part of an illegal scheme to source and sell on at much higher

:13:58. > :14:00.and Opening and Closing is Ceremony. Several executives were also

:14:01. > :14:06.arrested. They denied any involve am. This is bad news for about dill,

:14:07. > :14:07.IOC and Rio 2016 at a time when ticketing is such a big issue in

:14:08. > :14:19.these Games. Wyre Davies, thank you. A 35-year-old woman has been jailed

:14:20. > :14:21.for life for murdering Sarah Williams used a stun gun

:14:22. > :14:25.on 60-year-old Sadie Hartley before stabbing her to death

:14:26. > :14:27.in her home in Lancashire. She had planned the brutal

:14:28. > :14:29.murder with a friend, Sarah Williams and Katrina Walsh,

:14:30. > :14:34.described as "two monsters who butchered an innocent woman

:14:35. > :14:36.for their own amusement." Sadie Hartley was, the court heard,

:14:37. > :14:38.slaughtered like an animal. She was happy with her partner,

:14:39. > :14:41.Ian Johnston, but he was sending explicit messages to his

:14:42. > :14:46.ex-girlfriend, Williams, though he had no idea

:14:47. > :14:49.what she was planning. If people feel that in some

:14:50. > :14:52.way I've let them down, that I am responsible by texting,

:14:53. > :14:56.I'm profoundly sorry for that, Williams and her friend,

:14:57. > :15:05.Katrina Walsh, left a trail of CCTV evidence, though

:18:02. > :18:02.following several weeks Our chief correspondent,

:18:03. > :18:07.Gavin Hewitt, has been to a Trump rally in Wisconsin

:18:08. > :18:09.to gauge the mood there. In West Bend, Wisconsin,

:18:10. > :18:19.Donald Trump supporters are willing to wait for hours in the mid-west

:18:23. > :18:25.behind in the polls and mired in controversy, not that

:18:26. > :18:28.you would know that here. Do you think he's made mistakes

:18:29. > :18:31.in his campaign? I think that he's a man that

:18:32. > :18:37.speaks his mind. I know he's going to win,
