:00:22. > :00:25.Good afternoon. Norway's Royal Family and Prime Minister have led
:00:25. > :00:30.their country in mourning for the 19 SEP- -- 97 people presumed
:00:30. > :00:33.killed in a bombing and shooting spree on Friday. Police say the
:00:33. > :00:43.suspect acted alone and has admitted to the atrocity. From
:00:43. > :00:48.At Oslo Cathedral today, there was a special service to remember those
:00:48. > :00:52.killed in the bomb blast and the youth camp massacre. Among the
:00:52. > :00:57.congregation was the Norwegian Royal Family. This is a country
:00:57. > :01:03.united in grief and still very much in shock. Under arrest for acts of
:01:03. > :01:06.terror, it has emerged that Anders Behring Breivik may have had links
:01:06. > :01:10.to right-wing extremists. This image of him with a rifle appeared
:01:10. > :01:14.in an anti-Islamic video. A 1,500 page manifesto said to have been

:01:19. > :01:22.According to his lawyer, he has admitted responsibility.
:01:22. > :01:26.TRANSLATION: He thought it was gruesome having to commit these
:01:26. > :01:32.acts, but in his head they were necessary. He has never denied what
:01:32. > :01:34.he has done, and he said that during the custody meeting on
:01:34. > :01:39.Monday in he will explain what he has done and why. Police believe
:01:39. > :01:43.this is the gunman during his shooting spree on the island. Ben
:01:43. > :01:46.the police investigation continues, as does the search for bodies. It
:01:46. > :01:51.is not only the scale of the tragedy, the number of debt which
:01:51. > :01:54.has shocked Norway. It is the realisation that it was a Norwegian
:01:54. > :01:57.citizen who did the killing. Tomorrow Anders Behring Breivik
:01:57. > :02:07.will appear in court and is expected to explain what motivated
:02:07. > :02:09.
:02:10. > :02:15.Jon Sopel is in Oslo for us now. You were at that cathedral service.
:02:15. > :02:19.Describe, please, the atmosphere there. Nick, I think these are
:02:19. > :02:21.among the most harrowing and distressing scenes I have seen as
:02:21. > :02:26.the church service ended and people started to emerge from the
:02:26. > :02:30.cathedral. First the dignitaries, the King and Queen, the Prime
:02:30. > :02:34.Minister, ministers and diplomats, but then the young people came out,
:02:34. > :02:40.and they embraced. And you could hear from where I am standing now
:02:40. > :02:45.the Wales and tears of the enviable as they sought solace in each
:02:45. > :02:48.other's company after what had been the most difficult two days that
:02:48. > :02:54.anyone can imagine. Some of them were the most distressing stories
:02:54. > :02:58.to tell of how they survived on that island on Friday, how they
:02:58. > :03:02.managed to get away and has so many of them failed. Although they may
:03:02. > :03:08.take comfort in each other that they were able to survive, there
:03:08. > :03:13.were many others who perished. Now all the ordinary people of Oslo are
:03:13. > :03:23.laying their floral tributes to all those who died. Norway has come
:03:23. > :03:23.
:03:23. > :03:26.together today to pay tribute to Jon Sopel there in Oslo. Friends
:03:26. > :03:30.and colleagues of singer Amy Winehouse have been paying tribute
:03:30. > :03:34.to her after she was found dead at her home in north London yesterday.
