:01:34. > :01:37.In areas where rioting took place, like here in London, police have
:01:37. > :01:41.been getting on with the business of tracking down those suspected of
:01:41. > :01:46.being involved in the trouble. But there's a growing chorus of concern
:01:46. > :01:51.about the Government seeking the advice of a US police chief. To
:01:51. > :01:56.avoid more of this, Bill Bratton is coming to the UK to give some tips

:03:08. > :03:13.But the Home Secretary says she won't shy away from telling police

:03:21. > :03:26.the public was clear and I was clear, that there had to be a

:03:40. > :03:43.ordered them to do certain things, when they've no power to do it, I

:04:08. > :04:13.police officers in part simply reflect their sheer anger at the
:04:13. > :04:16.criticism which has been levelled at them over over the way they
:04:16. > :04:19.handled the riots, particularly in the early stages. I think there is
:04:19. > :04:21.another issue as well, the Prime Minister believes strongly in
:04:21. > :04:25.making police forces much more accountable and that's why the
:04:25. > :04:28.Government is trying to push through its idea of having elected
:04:28. > :04:32.police commissioners which Ministers think will be more in
:04:32. > :04:35.touch with views of local people. I think that's also why the Home

:04:40. > :04:43.let the police know what the public expected in terms of a response on
:04:43. > :04:46.the streets. The police say that they're all for being accountable,
:04:46. > :04:51.what they don't like is interference and anything that

:06:30. > :06:35.their way. They have made gains on several fronts in recent days, but
:06:35. > :06:41.they are still facing opposition. The key issue is Colonel Gaddafi's
:06:41. > :06:45.troops, how long and how hard will they be willing to fight? We asked
:06:45. > :06:49.a senior officer in Colonel Gaddafi's Army, a brigadier
