:00:27. > :00:37.handguns. And victory for Liverpool, with a

:00:37. > :00:49.

:00:49. > :00:52.2-0 win against Arsenal at the Good afternoon. A Red Arrow plane

:00:52. > :00:54.taking part in a display in Dorset has crashed near Bournemouth

:00:54. > :00:57.International Airport. Eyewitnesses described seeing the plane hit the

:00:57. > :01:02.ground near a river, and members of the public jumping into the water

:01:02. > :01:12.to try to reach the cockpit. There's no official word on the

:01:12. > :01:16.condition of the pilot. Earlier this afternoon, this was

:01:16. > :01:20.the team preparing to begin the display. The BBC was filming the

:01:20. > :01:24.Red Arrows for a documentary. Not long after, as the pilots were

:01:24. > :01:29.heading back to land, ground staff realised something had gone wrong.

:01:29. > :01:33.This amateur footage sent in by a viewer shows one of the hawks

:01:33. > :01:39.descending towards the ground. It then disappears from view behind

:01:39. > :01:43.the building. It crashed on farmland. From a distance, large

:01:43. > :01:51.pieces of the wreckage can clearly be seen. It came down about 100

:01:51. > :01:55.metres from us. Most of the plane was on the other side of the

:01:55. > :02:00.riverbank. On our side, there was loads of debris spreading back

:02:00. > :02:06.across the field. In queues guests at Bournemouth Airport were

:02:06. > :02:12.counting the planes back in. watch them do the fly past. Then we

:02:12. > :02:17.waited around here to see them come in. But we just saw eight comeback,

:02:17. > :02:23.rather than nine. We saw a bit of smoke. The emergency services have

:02:23. > :02:29.cordoned off roads around the area as they work at the scene. The Red

:02:29. > :02:33.Arrows have flown for 46 years, completing more than 4000 displays

:02:33. > :02:37.in 53 countries. Many of the pilots and support staff have recently

:02:37. > :02:41.returned from duties in Afghanistan. The Ministry of Defence says it has

:02:41. > :02:50.launched an investigation. And Alison Moss is at the scene for

:02:50. > :02:53.us now. What more can you tell us? As that investigation has been

:02:53. > :02:58.launched, eyewitnesses are able to give us a better picture of what

:02:58. > :03:00.they have happened. At the airport, the Arrows were coming in at the

:03:00. > :03:05.end of their display over Bournemouth seafront. They split

:03:05. > :03:09.into a manoeuvre, but only eight returned. Here on the ground, close

:03:09. > :03:15.to the crash site, witnesses reported hearing a loud crack, not

:03:15. > :03:20.an explosion of. They saw the wreckage go nose first into the

:03:20. > :03:24.water, with just its tail visible. We have heard that there is a

:03:24. > :03:27.police investigation and an MoD investigation now under way. We

:03:27. > :03:31.have no news about the conditions of the pilot. The emergency

:03:31. > :03:33.services are still working on the scene.

:03:33. > :03:36.Opposition forces in Libya have been tightening their grip on

:03:36. > :03:39.territory taken from troops loyal to Colonel Gaddafi. They're calling

:03:39. > :03:42.on the people of Tripoli to be ready for their arrival, and they

:03:42. > :03:45.say a former prime minister has fled the capital. Rebel forces now

:03:45. > :03:50.control much of the east of the country, with strongholds in

:03:50. > :03:54.Benghazi and towns along the coast road. Today they claimed to have

:03:54. > :03:56.taken Brega. Further west, they're in Misrata and Zlitan, while

:03:56. > :04:04.Colonel Gaddafi's forces are centred on the capital, Tripoli,

:04:04. > :04:07.and in Sirte. The rebels have also been fighting in the Nafusa

:04:07. > :04:15.mountains to the south and in the town of Zawiyah. From there, Rupert

:04:15. > :04:19.Wingfield-Hayes sent this report. This morning, the rebels took us to

:04:19. > :04:24.see their latest prize. They have already dubbed this play smarters'

:04:24. > :04:29.Square, but it is a grim victory. The debris and destroyed buildings

:04:29. > :04:34.tell their own story of what happened here. We drive on East two

:04:34. > :04:40.N T streets towards the new frontline. Then suddenly, we find

:04:40. > :04:47.it. You can hear the incoming rifle fire, the remnants of Gaddafi's

:04:47. > :04:51.forces are not far ahead. So we are now right on the eastern edge of so

:04:51. > :04:55.we have. The rebels have pushed right through the east of the city

:04:55. > :05:00.this morning. We are now on the outer edges of the city. We have

:05:00. > :05:05.been told that Gaddafi's forces are 500 metres down the road, still

:05:05. > :05:12.clinging on. They are trying to drive them out of the city. Ahead,

:05:12. > :05:19.the rebels are coming under heavy sniper fire. They bring up a tank

:05:19. > :05:25.to shelve the building the snipers are thought to be in. On top of the

:05:26. > :05:31.tank, they celebrate what they believe is a direct hit. Are you

:05:31. > :05:35.going to fight all the way to Tripoli? I hope so, if I do not die.

:05:35. > :05:41.In a side street, rebel fighters are resting. Gaddafi's green flag

:05:41. > :05:47.still flies over the building they have taken. Gaddafi's soldiers were

:05:47. > :05:52.here in Zawiya. They are now going back. The rebels are going towards

:05:52. > :05:57.Tripoli. I mid-afternoon, fighting still rages on the edge of the city.

:05:57. > :06:01.The rebels know they now have Gaddafi's forces on the run, but

:06:01. > :06:03.the cost in destruction and lives has been heavy.

:06:03. > :06:06.Police in Birmingham have released CCTV footage of shots being fired

:06:06. > :06:11.at their officers and the force helicopter during the riots earlier

:06:11. > :06:21.this month. They've described the film as "disturbing" and say they

:06:21. > :06:22.

:06:22. > :06:26.are treating the incident as attempted murder.

:06:26. > :06:30.Mast and hooded, a figure steps forward with a gun. He aims and

:06:30. > :06:36.fires into a line of unarmed riot police just out of the CCTV

:06:36. > :06:40.camera's range. Above in the force helicopter, officers zoom in to

:06:40. > :06:45.find that they are also in someone's sides. This was last

:06:45. > :06:50.Tuesday night in Aston. Today, police in Birmingham appealed for

:06:50. > :06:55.help to find the man they say tried to murder their officers. I look at

:06:55. > :06:59.that footage, and think that the only motive could have been to

:06:59. > :07:04.maximise the harm that they could cause to police officers and

:07:04. > :07:09.potentially other members of the public. The mob began with bricks

:07:09. > :07:13.hurled at a police car. Then it turned on a pub. As officers came

:07:13. > :07:23.under fire outside, inside, the owners were putting out their

:07:23. > :07:24.

:07:24. > :07:29.petrol bomb bar. I am really scared, you know. I am really scared. We

:07:29. > :07:34.live upstairs. Two men have been charged with violent disorder.

:07:34. > :07:38.Police say they are hunting the rest. With 11 shots fired from at

:07:38. > :07:43.least four different handguns, the chief constable is in no doubt that

:07:43. > :07:50.his officers with their lives protecting this community. He now

:07:50. > :07:54.wants people to come forward to help them. This week, 20,000 people

:07:54. > :07:59.attended the funerals of three young men who died in Winson Green

:07:59. > :08:08.following the trouble in Birmingham. Detectives say these pictures show

:08:08. > :08:11.how close they came to a second murder inquiry on the same night.

:08:11. > :08:13.In today's Premier League matches, there were wins for Aston Villa,

:08:13. > :08:16.Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle. Arsenal put their unsettled

:08:16. > :08:19.midfielder Samir Nasri in the side to face Liverpool at the Emirates,

:08:19. > :08:26.but they lost 2-0.l Cricket, and England's progress in the fourth

:08:26. > :08:29.and final Test against India was He things you thought you would

:08:29. > :08:33.never see this season, Samir Nasri in an Arsenal shirt again.

:08:33. > :08:37.Manchester City could be wavy the chequebook somewhere else, of

:08:37. > :08:41.course. More likely, Arsenal were just desperate. Nasri was just

:08:41. > :08:46.about the best available player they had. Martyn Kelly hit the post

:08:46. > :08:50.for Liverpool in the second half. Robin Van Persie now in possession

:08:50. > :08:56.of the captain's armband at Arsenal, fired his shot straight at Pepe

:08:56. > :09:04.Reina. The match was in the balance, before it tipped Liverpool's way.

:09:04. > :09:09.From pong was shown his studs, and then shown the inevitable. A

:09:09. > :09:13.desperate clearance loop of Aaron Ramsey and into his own net.

:09:13. > :09:17.Substitute a Luis Suarez made it two goals in two games for him.

:09:17. > :09:22.Liverpool are a club on the rise. Arsenal are sinking at the moment,

:09:22. > :09:25.and a bedraggled Arsene Wenger would have heard those boos at

:09:25. > :09:30.full-time. In cricket, England's progress in

:09:30. > :09:36.the final Test against India was hampered by rain. Ian Bell scored

:09:36. > :09:46.his first ever double century in the Test match before being bowled

:09:46. > :09:46.

:09:46. > :09:51.out for 235. India began their reply in the worst possible way,
