:00:08. > :00:11.An historic moment for Libya tonight, as the head of the

:00:11. > :00:15.National Transitional Council arrives in the capital. Mustafa

:00:15. > :00:20.Abdul Jalil touches down in Tripoli for the first time since Colonel

:00:20. > :00:25.Gaddafi was overthrown. As the deadline passes for Colonel

:00:25. > :00:29.Gaddafi's forces to give up, fighters close in on Bani Walid.

:00:29. > :00:33.There is fierce fighting going on just ahead of us, up there, and

:00:33. > :00:38.Colonel Gaddafi's forces are putting up a fierce resistance than

:00:38. > :00:44.these men had expected. Also tonight, remembering the

:00:44. > :00:48.victims of 9/11. Former presidents join relatives at the scene in

:00:48. > :00:52.Pennsylvania, where Flight 93 came down.

:00:52. > :00:58.When the sun rose in the Pennsylvania Sky 10 years ago

:00:58. > :01:05.tomorrow, it was a piece for September morning. By the time it

:01:05. > :01:15.said, nearly 3000 people were gone. And, as a winning start for England

:01:15. > :01:24.

:01:24. > :01:28.and Scotland at the Rugby World Cup Good evening.

:01:28. > :01:31.The head of Libya's at National Transitional Council has arrived in

:01:31. > :01:35.Tripoli for the first time since Colonel Gaddafi was driven from

:01:35. > :01:39.power. He was mobbed by supporters, who described it as a defining

:01:39. > :01:42.moment for the country. The deadline has passed for forces

:01:42. > :01:52.loyal to Colonel Gaddafi to lay down their weapons. There has been

:01:52. > :01:54.

:01:54. > :01:58.fierce fighting around one of his last show on colds. -- strongholds.

:01:58. > :02:03.He is the leader of an unelected government, but that does not seem

:02:03. > :02:10.to diminish his popularity. After many days of waiting, Mustafa Abdul

:02:10. > :02:14.Jalil finally flew into Tripoli, and a hero's welcome. The task the

:02:14. > :02:18.new leader's face is immense. Definitely, it is a joyful moment,

:02:18. > :02:26.an historic moment for the whole country, not only the citizens of

:02:26. > :02:34.Tripoli. Everybody is very happy. A new chapter has just been opened up,

:02:34. > :02:40.here in the capital of Libya. far from the lecherous life Colonel

:02:40. > :02:45.Gaddafi's chosen son was used to. - - luxurious life. But this is where

:02:45. > :02:50.Saif Al-Islam hit as his father's empire was crumbling, the training

:02:50. > :02:55.college for nurses. As the rebels close in, evidence were shredded.

:02:55. > :03:01.Including plans for the defence of Tripoli. His men were well armed,

:03:01. > :03:09.there are receipts for nearly 150 weapons. Finding those who hid here

:03:09. > :03:14.is important unfinished business in a country still in transition. We

:03:14. > :03:18.met a friend of the family, who says they are safe and well, and

:03:18. > :03:23.ready to carry on fighting. There is also fear for those who day to

:03:23. > :03:30.support the old regime. I was talking with Saeed Al Islam, and he

:03:30. > :03:34.said, do not be scared, everything will be OK. I said, everybody is

:03:34. > :03:39.attacking be, they want to kill me. He said, everything will be OK.

:03:39. > :03:43.Although NATO's task is almost over, and the destruction in some areas

:03:43. > :03:47.is pretty complete, the pressure is now on the interim government to

:03:47. > :03:54.move the process forward, to bring some sense of closure to the Libyan

:03:54. > :03:59.people. Today, fresh intelligence on those who did Gaddafi's bigging

:03:59. > :04:04.was found. The secrets of the past are being unearthed, and the hunt

:04:04. > :04:12.for the enemies of the new state goes on. When this is done can the

:04:12. > :04:15.fighters declare victory, and get on with rebuilding Libya.

:04:15. > :04:19.And T Colonel Gaddafi fighters said they had entered Bani Walid. It has

:04:19. > :04:29.one of the few places still under control of the ousted Colonel's

:04:29. > :04:33.

:04:33. > :04:37.supporters. There are reports of Reinforcements heading for Bani

:04:37. > :04:41.Walid, what just might be one of the last battles of Libya's long

:04:41. > :04:46.rebellion. These anti- Gaddafi fighters believed the Colonel's

:04:46. > :04:50.sons may be in the town. They are not allowed to advance any further.

:04:50. > :04:55.We have come to the edge of Bani Walid, there is fierce fighting

:04:55. > :04:58.going on ahead of us. Colonel Gaddafi's forces inside the town

:04:58. > :05:06.are putting up much fiercer resistance and these men had

:05:06. > :05:09.expected, and the ambulances are keeping very busy. Some of these

:05:09. > :05:15.men have relatives trapped inside the town. It makes the thought of

:05:15. > :05:23.attacking it difficult. It is horrible, actually. Especially

:05:23. > :05:26.injured people from the rocket launchers and stuff. Suddenly, we

:05:26. > :05:33.are under fire. Colonel Gaddafi does not seem to be running short

:05:33. > :05:36.of ammunition. His enemies insist the town will fall imminently.

:05:36. > :05:41.have managed to prove themselves and push forward again today, they

:05:41. > :05:46.have made good progress. They are taking territory, they have taken

:05:46. > :05:53.the gate of the city, and they have taken a large section of a

:05:53. > :05:58.residential area. These fighters have not yet surrounded the town.

:05:58. > :06:08.The hope still is that Colonel Gaddafi's bitter Enders will melt

:06:08. > :06:09.

:06:09. > :06:12.away, rather than making a last The Israeli Prime Minister says he

:06:12. > :06:17.is determined to maintain a peace accord with Egypt after protesters

:06:17. > :06:20.stormed his country's embassy in Cairo last night. Three people were

:06:20. > :06:28.killed in the demonstrations, and is well's ambassador has been

:06:29. > :06:33.forced to leave Egypt. -- Israel's ambassador.

:06:33. > :06:39.Peace with Israel has always been unpopular here. In these post-

:06:39. > :06:42.revolutionary days, Egyptians feel free to show it. Protesters, fired

:06:42. > :06:50.up by the deaths of five Egyptian border guards by Israeli forces

:06:50. > :06:58.last month, managed to break into the embassy. I did not care about

:06:58. > :07:02.the risks, said this man. I was ready to die to pull down the flag.

:07:02. > :07:07.Hours later, the army had secured the embassy. But by then, it was

:07:07. > :07:13.empty. The Egyptian flag had replaced the Star of David. That

:07:13. > :07:16.did not stop some from having another go. Public sentiment now

:07:16. > :07:22.threatened the 30-year-old peace treaty. The Israeli Prime Minister

:07:22. > :07:26.said it should stay. TRANSLATION: Israel will continue to hold the

:07:26. > :07:30.peace accord with Egypt. We are working with the Egyptian

:07:30. > :07:33.government to return an ambassador to Cairo soon. I would like to

:07:33. > :07:41.ensure the security arrangements necessary for him and our staff

:07:41. > :07:46.will be stood fast. -- stood fast. Egyptians are angry about a lot

:07:46. > :07:50.more than just Israel. These are teachers, protesting about

:07:50. > :07:57.collapsing living standards. With so much frustration in the country,

:07:57. > :08:03.Israel will always be a tempting target. Some of these teachers and

:08:03. > :08:06.just 50 a month. No wonder they are upset. Not able to meet their

:08:06. > :08:10.demands for change, the government is struggling to maintain basic

:08:10. > :08:18.order. But it has promised that protecting foreign embassies will

:08:18. > :08:22.now be a top priority. More than 190 people have drowned

:08:22. > :08:27.when a Tanzanian ferry overloaded with passengers sank off the island

:08:27. > :08:31.of Zanzibar. Over 1000 people were on board, many were children. The

:08:32. > :08:37.boat capsized at night, hampering rescue efforts. More than 600

:08:37. > :08:42.people survived. The Government has announced three days of mourning.

:08:42. > :08:46.Memorial events have begun in the United States to mark 10 years

:08:46. > :08:50.since the September 11th attacks. In his weekly address, Barack Obama

:08:50. > :09:00.vowed to continue the fight against international terror, and said the

:09:00. > :09:01.

:09:01. > :09:06.USA was stronger a decade on from Those commemorations have already

:09:06. > :09:10.started, and they will take centre- stage here tomorrow. Earlier,

:09:10. > :09:16.former presidents, including George Bush and Bill Clinton, attended a

:09:16. > :09:20.memorial at Shanksville, the scene where hijacked Flight 93 crashed

:09:20. > :09:27.after passengers overpowered the hijackers. President Bush had this

:09:27. > :09:31.to say. The most likely target was the

:09:31. > :09:36.United States capital. We will not know how many innocent lives might

:09:36. > :09:41.have been lost, but we do know that Americans are alive today because

:09:41. > :09:46.the passengers and crew of Flight 93 chose to act, and animation will

:09:46. > :09:50.be forever grateful. -- our nation.

:09:50. > :09:56.We have been hearing the stories of those bereaved by 9/11, and those

:09:56. > :10:00.of survivors and those caught up in the horrific events. My colleague

:10:00. > :10:04.was in the South Tower at the time of the attack. He has been back to

:10:04. > :10:10.reflect on the day and how it has changed New York.

:10:10. > :10:16.The Twin Towers dominated the New York skyline. At 8:46am on the

:10:16. > :10:20.bright blue morning, the image was shattered. 10 years ago, I was on

:10:20. > :10:24.the ground floor of the South Tower, waiting to go to a meeting. I had

:10:24. > :10:28.intended to go to the windows on the World restaurant on the top of

:10:28. > :10:36.the North Tower, but decided to have a coffee on the way. A lucky

:10:36. > :10:41.delay. I could see the image come across my vision. Construction

:10:41. > :10:47.worker Andy Sullivan was there that morning as well. A massive

:10:47. > :10:53.explosion, like a huge axe having been taken out of the side of the

:10:53. > :11:02.building. At 9:02am, the second plane hit the South Tower. Joining

:11:02. > :11:06.us now, Steve Evans. He was in the building. What can you tell us?

:11:06. > :11:11.are running away quickly, there are more explosions further down the

:11:11. > :11:16.building. I brought my camera to my eye to take pictures, and I ran for

:11:16. > :11:21.my life. David Handschuh was a press photographer. He took this

:11:21. > :11:27.picture before he was buried and then rescued. 10 years on, images

:11:27. > :11:32.remain. The sight of people who felt that jumping to their death

:11:32. > :11:36.was a better option than burning alive, 90 floors of, the bodies

:11:36. > :11:41.falling at, that will always be left in my mind. I was doing an

:11:41. > :11:51.interview when the second tower collapsed. People were talking to

:11:51. > :11:52.

:11:52. > :11:57.Oh, my God! We have got to go! huge amount has changed since I

:11:57. > :12:01.stood on the spot 10 years ago. What was the straw it is being

:12:01. > :12:07.rebuilt. Morning could be used for nearly 3000 people who died, but

:12:07. > :12:12.the man behind the talk is now gone. Two was followed, expensive wars in

:12:12. > :12:19.terms of blood and lives and also in terms of finance. Those costs

:12:19. > :12:25.are still being paid. At Ground Zero, a fire trucks destroyed on

:12:25. > :12:30.the day has been lowered into the new museum. September 11th, 2001

:12:30. > :12:35.changed the lives of ordinary New Yorkers. The dead are still mourned.

:12:35. > :12:42.10 years on, there is still about rage, a quiet anger among those who

:12:42. > :12:48.were there. Today's rebuilding it cannot and do that.

:12:48. > :12:51.-- undo that. The eyes of the world will be on

:12:51. > :12:55.America tomorrow as President Barack Obama leads the

:12:55. > :12:59.commemorations to the most deadly terrorist attack in history. And

:12:59. > :13:02.not the police and security services, there is deep anxiety

:13:03. > :13:12.after the interception of a threat from al-Qaeda. Their concern is

:13:13. > :13:15.

:13:15. > :13:18.that tomorrow's events should pass Now, the sport.

:13:18. > :13:22.England and Scotland kicked off their that the World Cup campaigns

:13:22. > :13:26.with wins, but neither were convincing. Scotland had to rely on

:13:26. > :13:32.a late fightback to beat Romania, while England struggled to a 13-9

:13:32. > :13:36.victory over Argentina. Jonny Wilkinson missed five penalties.

:13:36. > :13:41.Wearing black, they say, is flattering, but this was

:13:41. > :13:46.embarrassing. We have had three penalties in four minutes. Massive

:13:46. > :13:51.improvement. England irritated the referee, and Argentina only had to

:13:51. > :13:56.succeed with a few penalties to build a lead. Argentina was

:13:56. > :14:00.sensational in the last World Cup. England could not find their way

:14:00. > :14:05.through. The rare times they ran towards them, the defence stood up,

:14:05. > :14:11.even in the melee, there was great respect for Argentina's tenacity.

:14:11. > :14:17.Into the second half, England needed kicks. Five penalties missed.

:14:17. > :14:23.That really was Jonny Wilkinson! England were still down. A flash of

:14:23. > :14:29.inspiration from Ben Youngs. That try converted, plus a penalty, gave

:14:29. > :14:35.England the game by four points. In some ways, Scotland's victory over

:14:35. > :14:42.Romania was even more nerve-racking. Romania shoved the Scotland scrum

:14:42. > :14:46.into the ground and scored a try to lead the game with 12 minutes to go.

:14:46. > :14:53.Scotland's response was swift and direct. They stepped it up. Two

:14:53. > :14:59.Lake tries from Simon Danielli, and they won 34-24. But their players

:14:59. > :15:03.conceded it was a victory that felt a bit like a defeat.

:15:03. > :15:12.Match Of the Day is on BBC One later, so if you do not want to

:15:12. > :15:18.know the Premier League scores, Arsenal 1 for the first time in the

:15:18. > :15:28.league this season. Wayne Rooney scored a hat-trick, as did much as

:15:28. > :15:38.the City's Sergio Aguero. -- as did Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.

:15:38. > :15:39.

:15:39. > :15:44.Rangers are top of the table. The final Flat racing classic of

:15:44. > :15:50.the season, based in a ledger, was won by Masked Marvel at Doncaster.

:15:50. > :15:55.The 15-2 shot finished first on a memorable afternoon for its trainer,

:15:55. > :16:00.John Gosden. 40 minutes later, he celebrated a classic double, when

:16:00. > :16:03.another horse was the joint winner of the Irish St Leger.

:16:03. > :16:08.Sebastian Vettel will start on pole position for the 10th time this

:16:08. > :16:11.season at the Italian Grand Prix. The leader of the champion should

:16:11. > :16:18.save his quickest lap and will last. He pushed Lewis Hamilton into

:16:18. > :16:22.second place. Jenson Button will start from third on the grid.
