:01:22. > :01:28.two people were killed today as demonstrators protested at what
:01:28. > :01:32.they see as the slow pace of change since the overthrow of President
:01:32. > :01:36.Mubarak in February. Our correspondent has spent the day in
:01:36. > :01:40.and around Tahrir Square and sense in this report.
:01:40. > :01:44.They are already calling it the second revolution. These Egyptians
:01:44. > :01:53.have lost patience with the military rulers that took over from
:01:53. > :01:57.Hosni Mubarak. So it is back to a battle for the streets. Fora day
:01:57. > :02:02.and a half, the police have been firing volley after volley of tear
:02:02. > :02:06.gas, sending the protesters scurrying for cover. But time and
:02:07. > :02:10.again the demonstrators regained their ground. This is the front
:02:10. > :02:14.line. The police are over there protecting the Interior Ministry
:02:14. > :02:20.and the protesters are battling it out. The air is thick with tear gas.
:02:20. > :02:24.We thought we had seen an end of this. But this crowd is as angry as
:02:24. > :02:27.I have seen them here in Egypt. From the front line, a fleet of
:02:27. > :02:32.motorcycles rushed the injured straight into a makeshift field
:02:32. > :02:39.hospital. Amidst the chaos, they are treating suffocation from tear
:02:39. > :02:44.gas and gunshot wounds. The same doctors in the same space as they
:02:44. > :02:48.used when they were fighting Hosni Mubarak's fighters. We were so
:02:48. > :02:55.proud of our revolution. We did not expect we would return to the same
:02:55. > :02:59.place we were in January. We are fighting against the same regime.
:02:59. > :03:03.Nothing changed. All the time, the crowds were flooding back into
:03:03. > :03:08.Tahrir Square. They are re- establishing the old regime and we
:03:08. > :03:14.don't want the old regime. We don't want Hosni Mubarak. We did the
:03:14. > :03:18.revolution and we are continuing it. Then late in the day, the army came
:03:18. > :03:25.to reinforce the police. They moved back into Tahrir Square, taking
:03:25. > :03:30.control, sometimes brutally. In one corner, protesters and knelt to
:03:30. > :03:36.pray, gesture of defiance that the soldiers respected. By nightfall,
:03:36. > :03:40.the square was almost empty. This is a dangerous moment for the army.
:03:40. > :03:44.In direct conflict, the revolution they vowed to protect. Many
:03:44. > :03:50.Egyptians still support them, but certainly not the thousands still
:03:51. > :03:57.fighting tonight for control of the centre of Cairo. How is it looking
:03:57. > :04:01.now in Tahrir Square? The situation now is that the protesters have
:04:01. > :04:07.taken control yet again of Tahrir Square, despite the best efforts of
:04:07. > :04:11.the police and the army to move them out of here. This poses some
:04:11. > :04:16.big problems for the military rulers. Firstly, can the elections
:04:16. > :04:20.go ahead on November 28th as planned? Parliamentary elections.
:04:20. > :04:29.Both opposition rulers and the Muslim brother for a say they want
:04:29. > :04:37.that to happen but can they allow that to happen? -- Muslim
:04:37. > :04:40.Brotherhood. Most people support the army, but they have alienated
:04:41. > :04:47.many members of society here, including the Muslim Brotherhood
:04:47. > :04:51.and many liberal members. You have to wonder where this will end.
:04:51. > :04:56.Thank you. In Syria, President al-Assad has
:04:56. > :04:59.said that he will not bowed to international pressure to end the
:04:59. > :05:04.crackdown against anti-government protesters there. The Arab League
:05:04. > :05:07.has been trying to end the violence. They have refused to accept Syrian

:05:18. > :05:22.Government protesters being shot by security forces. But military
:05:22. > :05:28.action is justified, according to the Syrian President, because he
:05:28. > :05:31.says they are fighting an armed rebellion. We are not talking about
:05:31. > :05:36.peaceful demonstrations. They are militants. Whenever you have
:05:36. > :05:40.militants, you have killing. The role of the Government is to fight
:05:40. > :05:48.militants in order to restore the stability and to protect this to
:05:48. > :05:53.billions. -- the civilians. There is an insurgency under way in Syria,
:05:53. > :05:58.as demonstrated in this amateur video. It claims to show a military
