:00:27. > :00:34.Good afternoon. The Queen and Prince Charles have been visiting

:00:34. > :00:43.the Duke of Edinburgh in hospital. Buckingham Palace say he's had a

:00:43. > :00:46.good night and is under observation. The Queen en route this morning by

:00:46. > :00:51.helicopter, from Sandringham to Papworth Hospital in visit her

:00:51. > :00:55.husband. The fact she's done so promptly to her husband's bed side

:00:55. > :01:00.suggests this was a moment of real anxiety, albeit one that now

:01:00. > :01:04.appears to have passed. A short time after the Queen's visit, the

:01:04. > :01:09.Prince of Wales also arrived at the hospital. According to Buckingham

:01:09. > :01:12.Palace, the Duke who was 90 last June, spent a good night after

:01:12. > :01:17.surgeons performed the operation late last night to relieve a

:01:17. > :01:21.blocked artery in his heart. He had been taken to hospital after

:01:21. > :01:26.experiencing chest pains at Sandringham. After tests, doctors

:01:26. > :01:30.decided that what's described as a minimaly invasive procedure should

:01:30. > :01:33.be carried out under local anaesthetic. Other members of the

:01:33. > :01:35.family, including Prince William and The Duchess of Cambridge are

:01:35. > :01:39.due to arrive at Sandringham today. It's not known at this stage

:01:39. > :01:43.whether they or any other members of the family will also visit the

:01:43. > :01:47.Duke. Up to now, the Duke has been continuing with an active programme

:01:47. > :01:55.of engagements. Just two months, he was in Australia at the side of the

:01:55. > :02:00.Queen, doing what he's done for very nearly 60 years, supporting

:02:00. > :02:04.the monarch. He was guiding children through the crowds to meet

:02:04. > :02:09.her and notwithstanding his rather dominant personality content to

:02:09. > :02:16.take second place as he always has. Earlier this year, he did, at the

:02:16. > :02:23.time of his birthday, admit that it might be time to ease up a little.

:02:23. > :02:29.I reckon I've done my bit. I want to enjoy myself a bit now. With

:02:29. > :02:35.less responsibility, less frantic rushing about and less preparation,

:02:35. > :02:39.less trying to think of something to say. On top of that, my memory

:02:39. > :02:43.is going and I can't remember names and things. I'm just sort of

:02:43. > :02:48.winding down. The Duke will be hoping to accompany the Queen as

:02:48. > :02:57.fully as possible next year, as she celebrates her Diamond Jubilee, but

:02:57. > :03:01.that must now depend on how well he recovers. Luisa Baldini is at

:03:01. > :03:06.Papworth Hospital for us. What is the latest? Well, we have just had

:03:06. > :03:09.a briefing by the Buckingham Palace press officer. She told us the

:03:09. > :03:13.Queen, who visited earlier this morning, was accompanied by other

:03:13. > :03:18.senior members of the family and they were met by the Chief

:03:18. > :03:23.Executive of the hospital, as well as the prove sore, who is the chief

:03:23. > :03:29.physician to the Queen. They departed and that's when Prince

:03:29. > :03:33.Charles and cam little la arrived. We were told that the Duke is in

:03:33. > :03:39.good spirits, but eager to leave. That looks unlikely. He may well

:03:39. > :03:44.have to stay in overnight, but he's in have good hands. P Papworth is

:03:44. > :03:49.the UK's largest specialised hospital for heart problems and

:03:49. > :03:55.they carry out the stent operations as a routine operation. They carry

:03:55. > :03:58.out around 2500 of them every year. It's routine. It's carried out

:03:58. > :04:02.under local anaesthetic and patients are able to be discharged

:04:02. > :04:09.the very next day. Given the age of the Duke, 90, he is being kept here

:04:10. > :04:14.under observation. Thank you. Nicholas Witchell is with me now.

:04:14. > :04:18.What do you make of the stream of visitors and the fact it's such

:04:18. > :04:22.senior Royals? This is a family, which generally takes its time

:04:22. > :04:25.about visiting each other in hospital. They don't like to make a

:04:25. > :04:29.fuss. They have done very, very quickly this morning. I think, as I

:04:29. > :04:33.said in the piece, they've had clearly a real scare on this

:04:33. > :04:37.occasion. As I understand it, the Queen was accompanied in the

:04:37. > :04:39.helicopter by the Princess Royal, by the Duke of York and theerly of

:04:39. > :04:43.Wessex and we have seen that the Prince of Wales has also been

:04:43. > :04:47.travelling by road from Highgrove with The Duchess of Cornwall, so in

:04:47. > :04:51.other words, all of the Queen's children have been to the Duke's

:04:51. > :04:56.bed side this morning. The good news is that, as we have been

:04:56. > :05:00.reporting, he is in good spirits, so we are told, and he has spent a

:05:00. > :05:03.good night. But this is clearly an upsetting event. Obviously, for the

:05:03. > :05:10.Queen, witnessing this last night and she has been there at her

:05:10. > :05:13.husband's bed side this morning. Thank you.

:05:13. > :05:18.Interpol has issued an arrest warrant for the founder of the

:05:18. > :05:20.French company, PIP, which manufactured potentially defective

:05:20. > :05:24.breast implants. The French authorities have recommended that

:05:24. > :05:27.30,000 women have the implants removed as a precaution. This is

:05:27. > :05:33.following the scare, but the British Government has ruled out

:05:33. > :05:38.routine removal, saying there is no evidence of a safety concern.

:05:38. > :05:42.Tens of thousands of people are protesting against alleged election

:05:42. > :05:45.fraud in Moscow. Demonstrators are demanding a re-run of the

:05:45. > :05:49.Parliamentary elections which Prime Minister Vladimir Putin's party won

:05:49. > :05:54.earlier this month. It's the latest in a series of protests across the

:05:54. > :05:59.country. The head of the army, General Sir Peter Wall, has been

:05:59. > :06:04.visiting British troops in Afghanistan. He spoke to service

:06:04. > :06:07.personnel at camp bestion, who will be spending Christmas -- Camp

:06:07. > :06:10.Bastion, who will be spending Christmas away from their families

:06:10. > :06:13.and thanked them. That's it for the moment. You can keep up-to-date,
