:02:27. > :02:31.arrests followed information given to them by the company.

:02:31. > :02:36.This is a serious moment for the newspaper and I think what will be

:02:36. > :02:41.critical in the sort of coming days and weeks will be how the public

:02:41. > :02:44.respond as we begin to understand what the story is underlying the

:02:44. > :02:47.arrests. The arrests are significant, not

:02:47. > :02:51.just the sheer number, but the greatest in a single day, but they

:02:51. > :02:55.include people who are neither journalists or police officers. An

:02:56. > :02:59.investigation which began with phone hacking is widening in scope.

:03:28. > :03:37.economic chaos" and a "social explosion" if it fails to accept

:03:37. > :03:40.the EU's latest austerity plan. Lucas Papademos was appealing to

:03:40. > :03:43.MPs to support the cuts in a key vote tomorrow following the

:03:55. > :04:00.barrage of austerity. A package of cuts that the Cabinet has approved

:04:00. > :04:03.to secure the bail out money Greece needs to avoid a disastrous default

:04:03. > :04:08.next month. Tomorrow, Parliament will vote on the measures. Greece's

:04:08. > :04:11.hour of reckoning is drawing near. Inside Parliament, party leaders

:04:12. > :04:21.pleaded with their MPs to back the package. Warning of what failure

:04:22. > :04:24.

:04:24. > :04:26.might bring. TRANSLATION: We are talking about

:04:26. > :04:29.chaos, my dear colleagues, we are talking the painful consequences

:04:29. > :04:31.for the country and specifically for those that don't have any money.

:04:31. > :04:34.For the unemployed, for the middle and lower income classes.

:04:34. > :04:37.The public mood is darkening. TRANSLATION: We have come here

:04:37. > :04:41.because all this must stop. I think we can stop the politicians. We can

:04:41. > :04:45.overthrow them so the Bill won't pass. We don't want their loans or

:04:45. > :04:49.their money or their debt. We can't afford it.

:04:49. > :04:53.Those MPs who are in Parliament, all 300 of them, should resign.

:04:53. > :04:57.They are traiters. The survival of the euro could be

:04:57. > :05:00.determined by what happens in this building tomorrow evening. If the

:05:00. > :05:05.austerity package is thrown out, Greece will go bankrupt and might

:05:05. > :05:10.be forced to leave the euro and the whole European project could start

:05:10. > :05:14.to unravel. The stakes could not be higher. As tempers flair, Greece

:05:14. > :05:21.teeters on the edge of financial collapse. Time is short to pull it

:05:21. > :05:25.Syria's official news agency says gunmen have killed a senior army

:05:25. > :05:28.officer in the capital, Damascus. It said three men opened fire on

:05:28. > :05:31.the brigadier general as he left his home and blamed the attack on

:05:31. > :05:35.what it called "armed terrorists". It came as government forces

:05:35. > :05:44.renewed their bombardment of the city of Homs. Activists say more

:05:44. > :05:47.than 400 people have been killed there in the last week. A man has

:05:47. > :05:57.been arrested in connection with the death of a man in Edinburgh

:05:57. > :05:59.

:05:59. > :06:06.last month. The body of Maciej Ciania was found

:06:06. > :06:09.at his flat in the city. Manchester United's manager, Sir Alex Ferguson,

:06:09. > :06:12.has described the Liverpool striker, Luis Suarez, as a "disgrace" after

:06:12. > :06:14.he refused to shake hands with United's Patrice Evra. Suarez was

:06:14. > :06:22.playing his first game against United since serving an eight-match

:06:22. > :06:27.ban for racially abusing Evra. Andy Swiss is at Old Trafford. Yes,

:06:27. > :06:30.quite an afternoon here at Old Trafford. Luis Suarez and Patrice

:06:30. > :06:35.Evra face-to-face once more, the big question, would they shake

:06:35. > :06:40.hands? Well, they didn't with pretty dramatic consequences.

:06:40. > :06:45.We thought it was all over, it isn't now. For Patrice Evra and

:06:45. > :06:53.Luis Suarez, this was meant to be a chance to shake hands and move on.

:06:53. > :06:58.Instead this. Evra had to be restrained after

:06:58. > :07:02.Luis Suarez's snub. A fiery first- half finished with Luis Suarez at

:07:02. > :07:08.boiling point. His manager urging for calm and as the players left at

:07:08. > :07:12.the break, a melee continued down the tunnel, police and stewards had

:07:12. > :07:16.to intervene. A football match did break out, two

:07:16. > :07:23.goals for Wayne Rooney put Manchester United in control.

:07:23. > :07:27.Before Liverpool responded through who else? Luis Suarez. His His goal

:07:27. > :07:31.counted for little, but his behaviour prompted a furious

:07:31. > :07:38.response. The history of that club has got

:07:38. > :07:41.and he does that. In an atmosphere like today, an atmosphere and all

:07:41. > :07:45.the build-up to the game, the profile that's on the match and he

:07:45. > :07:50.does that. It is a disgrace to that football club.

:07:50. > :07:54.Still the rankor continued as the players left the pitch, Evra's

:07:54. > :08:02.celebrations sparked yet another fracas. The game finishing just as
