:00:21. > :00:24.Good Afternoon. The company which runs Heathrow, BAA, says a shortage

:00:25. > :00:28.of Border Agency staff is causing major queues at the airport and has

:00:29. > :00:31.called on the Government to address the problem urgently. Passengers

:00:32. > :00:34.have faced long delays again this week, which the chairman of the

:00:34. > :00:44.Home Affairs Committee says are damaging Britain's reputation ahead

:00:44. > :00:44.

:00:44. > :00:46.of the London Olympics. Philippa Thomas reports. This was Heathrow's

:00:47. > :00:51.Terminal 5 last night, where some passengers waited more than two

:00:51. > :00:56.hours to get through immigration. One MP said scenes like this are

:00:56. > :01:00.causing huge damage to Britain's reputation. Heathrow's owners say

:01:00. > :01:05.it's unacceptable, and it needs to be sorted out as a matter of

:01:05. > :01:09.urgency. BAA says there shouldn't be a trade-off between border

:01:09. > :01:16.security and a good passenger experience. But that seems to be

:01:16. > :01:19.exactly what's happening. Normally I queue for about five to ten

:01:19. > :01:26.minutes, last night the queue was over an hour. A colleague of mine

:01:26. > :01:30.that was with me said the last time he saw a queue like that was in JFK

:01:30. > :01:35.after 9/11. For the chief of the Border Force there can be only one

:01:35. > :01:40.priority. Sometimes disruption will happen but much as regrettable, the

:01:40. > :01:44.good news is that the border of the United Kingdom is strong and will

:01:44. > :01:48.remain strong and some disruption, sometimes, will be necessary to

:01:48. > :01:53.make sure that our country stays safe. At Heathrow today there's

:01:53. > :01:57.been no reports of any significant delays at immigration. But that's

:01:57. > :02:02.small comfort for the immigration Minister who has to square the

:02:02. > :02:05.circle of low staffing and high security demands. Damian Green has

:02:05. > :02:09.been warned today he will soon be called to give evidence about this

:02:09. > :02:14.issue at Westminster. It is not acceptable that people

:02:14. > :02:18.should fly in and wait many, many hours before clearing immigration.

:02:18. > :02:22.It doesn't happen in any airport in the world, including the United

:02:22. > :02:26.States of America, which is also rightly concerned about security,

:02:26. > :02:30.and it shouldn't happen here. pressure on the Home Office is

:02:30. > :02:35.building ahead of July's Olympics, when Heathrow will be the gateway

:02:35. > :02:45.to the Games, but the Border Force insists it has a strong plan in

:02:45. > :02:45.

:02:45. > :02:48.place to ensure Olympics' arrivals flow smoothly.

:02:48. > :02:51.Detectives hunting James Allen, the man wanted in connection with two

:02:51. > :02:54.murders in Middlesbrough and Whitby, have appealed to anyone who may be

:02:54. > :02:57.shielding him to give him up. Police say the 35-year-old may be

:02:57. > :03:00.trying to change his appearance by growing his hair and have urged the

:03:00. > :03:06.public to contact them immediately if they see him. Our Correspondent

:03:06. > :03:09.Danny Savage is in Middlesbrough. What's the latest? Well, this

:03:09. > :03:19.manshunt about two murders 30 miles apart that police believe were

:03:19. > :03:19.

:03:19. > :03:22.committed by the same man. Today they've released fresh details

:03:22. > :03:24.about James Allen, new pictures as well, in the hope that this will

:03:24. > :03:29.lead them to him. This is double murder suspect James

:03:29. > :03:33.Allen. CCTV cameras in shops in the Scarborough area filmed him on

:03:33. > :03:38.Tuesday and Wednesday last week. That was after the body of 81-year-

:03:38. > :03:42.old Colin Dunford was found in Middlesbrough and around the time

:03:42. > :03:45.that 50-year-old Julie Davison was found dead in her flat in Whitby.

:03:45. > :03:51.Both had suffered severe head injuries.

:03:51. > :03:56.As the manhunt continues, police today had this message for anyone

:03:56. > :04:01.helping James Allen. determination is 100% to catch

:04:01. > :04:07.James Allen as soon as possible. And bring him to justice. Someone

:04:07. > :04:12.will know where he is. This is not a time for loyalty. There can be no

:04:12. > :04:17.loyalty at a time like this. Now is the time to help the police.

:04:17. > :04:19.Detectives believe the 35-year-old, who has tattoos on both arms, is

:04:19. > :04:23.still in the region. They've confirmed that he stayed in this

:04:24. > :04:29.bed and breakfast in Scarborough last Wednesday night, but where is

:04:29. > :04:33.he now? West Yorkshire Police are following up possible sightings of

:04:33. > :04:39.the man they want in Leeds. But they've also been calls from people

:04:39. > :04:42.living in north Yorkshire anteside, claiming they may have seen him.

:04:42. > :04:45.Wanted posters are now up across this part of the country, with

:04:46. > :04:51.detectives stressing that this man needs to be arrested as soon as

:04:51. > :04:54.possible. Well over 100 officers are now

:04:54. > :04:57.involved in this investigation. They hope that a combination of

:04:57. > :05:02.them following up leads and information from the public will

:05:02. > :05:12.help them catch him. They've also appealed directly to James Allen

:05:12. > :05:14.

:05:14. > :05:16.again today. The message is this: You need to be in custody.

:05:16. > :05:18.Downing Street says it won't consider ordering an investigation

:05:18. > :05:21.into whether the Culture Secretary, Jeremy Hunt, broke ministers' rules,

:05:21. > :05:24.until he's given evidence to the Leveson Inquiry. Mr Hunt is accused

:05:24. > :05:29.of breaching the Ministerial Code while overseeing News Corporation's

:05:29. > :05:34.bid for BSkyB. Our political correspondent Ben Geoghegan reports.

:05:34. > :05:37.Jeremy Hunt insists he's done nothing wrong, but Lord Justice

:05:37. > :05:40.Leveson says he won't give his verdict into whether or not he

:05:41. > :05:48.broke the Ministerial Code. Instead, it's the Prime Minister who will

:05:48. > :05:52.decide the fate of the Culture Secretary. Mr Hunt has been under

:05:52. > :05:55.growing pressure this week. His critics say he acted as a

:05:55. > :06:00.cheerleader for News Corp during the company's attempt to take over

:06:00. > :06:05.the whole of BSkyB. Today, there were renewed calls for

:06:05. > :06:08.an inquiry into his conduct led by an independent advisor.

:06:08. > :06:12.The longer the Prime Minister resists this, the more people will

:06:12. > :06:17.conclude he has something to hide, that he is engaged in a coverup. He

:06:17. > :06:20.must refer this to Alex Allen and I think the integrity of his

:06:20. > :06:23.Government depends on this happening. In my view, Jeremy Hunt

:06:23. > :06:27.shouldn't still be in his post, given the evidence against him.

:06:27. > :06:30.Labour accuse Mr Hunt of breaching the code Ministers have to follow.

:06:30. > :06:34.They say he didn't take responsibility for his advisor Adam

:06:35. > :06:38.Smith who resigned last week. They also accuse him of not giving

:06:38. > :06:44.parliament accurate and truthful information about the BSkyB bid.

:06:44. > :06:48.And they claim he gave details of a statement about the bid to news --

:06:48. > :06:52.News Corp before telling MPs. Jeremy Hunt will be giving toefd

:06:52. > :06:54.the Leveson inquiry next month. The judge didn't allow him to appear

:06:54. > :06:58.earlier than planned. His supporters insist he will be

:06:58. > :07:02.vindicated. He is going to be tested under oath, all his evidence

:07:02. > :07:07.will be published and there for everybody to see and if there is

:07:07. > :07:10.any suggestion that at some point he may or may not have breached the

:07:10. > :07:13.Ministerial Code that can be followed up. We need to avoid the

:07:13. > :07:17.muddle of two separate inquiries. The Prime Minister will come to his

:07:17. > :07:21.decision about the fate of Jeremy Hunt once the Culture Secretary

:07:21. > :07:25.gives his toefd the Leveson Inquiry. But that's not due to happen until

:07:25. > :07:28.the middle of next month, and the danger is instead of talking about

:07:28. > :07:38.the Government's policies, the Prime Minister will be forced to

:07:38. > :07:38.

:07:38. > :07:41.spend the next few weeks defending his Minister instead.

:07:41. > :07:44.Specialist police divers in County Durham are continuing to search the

:07:44. > :07:47.River Wear for an eight-year-old boy who fell into the water while

:07:47. > :07:50.playing with friends. It's thought he fell into the swollen river at

:07:50. > :07:53.around 7.00pm last night. There's been heavy rainfall in the area

:07:53. > :07:56.over the past week. Police in Northern Ireland say a

:07:56. > :07:59.massive van bomb found in Newry, close to the Irish border, could

:07:59. > :08:01.have caused death and widespread devastation. The device, containing

:08:01. > :08:04.600lbs of explosives, is thought to have been left by dissident

:08:04. > :08:11.republicans and was primed and ready to explode. Clare Savage

:08:11. > :08:15.reports. Explosives weighing 600lbs were

:08:15. > :08:19.packed into a van left outside Newry City. It happened close to

:08:19. > :08:23.the border, some eyewitness reports suggest the vehicle was abandoned

:08:23. > :08:27.with the engine running. So far, no paramilitary group has claimed

:08:27. > :08:33.responsibility for this latest bomb. But it's thought dissident

:08:33. > :08:38.Republicans are behind it. It was contained in two blue barrels of

:08:38. > :08:44.about 125kilo grams each of explosives with a dead Nater. --

:08:44. > :08:49.detonator. It's about twaoeuz the size of the bomb in the courthouse

:08:49. > :08:55.here two years ago now. I would -- it would cause devastation to any

:08:55. > :09:01.town in the Province. To give you an kwrud, anybody -- idea, anybody

:09:01. > :09:06.within about 15 metres -- 50 metres would be killed. In fact, this

:09:06. > :09:11.prime device was 100lbs larger than the bomb in Omagh in 1998 which

:09:11. > :09:16.killed 29 people. Overnight in North Belfast a much

:09:16. > :09:22.smaller bomb was discovered under a car in a garage in a residential

:09:22. > :09:26.area. Detectives have now left the scene and haven't said who the

:09:26. > :09:29.intended victim was but the bomb wasn't under the vehicle of a a

:09:29. > :09:33.police officer, a loyalist or a member of Sinn Fein. The usual

:09:33. > :09:43.targets of dissident Republicans. While that alert was taking place,

:09:43. > :09:43.

:09:43. > :09:45.the police carried out searches near the houses of suspected

:09:45. > :09:49.dissident Republican terrorists. Guns and ammunition were found.

:09:49. > :09:51.There are no arrests. Football, and Southampton are

:09:51. > :09:54.celebrating promotion to the Premier League after an emphatic

:09:54. > :09:58.win over Coventry on the final day of the Championship season. They

:09:58. > :10:01.took an easy 4-0 victory at home, which means they now return to the

:10:01. > :10:04.top flight after a 7-year absence. The club's promotion was greeted
