:00:22. > :00:26.Good afternoon. More details have emerged about the gunman who shot

:00:26. > :00:28.dead 12 people at a cinema in Colorado. Police say he bought the

:00:28. > :00:32.guns legally in stores and 6,000 rounds of ammunition over the

:00:32. > :00:35.internet. In the town of Aurora, where the attacks took place, the

:00:35. > :00:45.victims of the shootings have been remembered, as Alastair Leithead

:00:45. > :00:50.

:00:50. > :00:59.reports. A vigil with prayers for the dead and for those injured by

:00:59. > :01:04.the lone gunman. It's hit people here very hard. He's very disturbed

:01:04. > :01:08.and I pray for him and his family, because somewhere it went wrong. I

:01:08. > :01:16.don't know what it is. To lose that many people, to shoot that many

:01:16. > :01:23.people. Why? I really would like to know. There was panic when he

:01:23. > :01:27.opened fire. 12 people were killed, dozens shot and injured. This was

:01:27. > :01:33.James Holmes four years ago, taken by a friend who remembered him as

:01:33. > :01:37.shy and reserved. They went to the midnight showing of the first

:01:37. > :01:42.batman film, but this time he came with only one intention. This is

:01:42. > :01:48.last 60 days he purchased four guns at local gun shops and through the

:01:48. > :01:54.internet he purchased over 6,000 rounds of ammunition. More than

:01:54. > :01:59.3,000 rounds of 223 ammunition for the assault rifle, 3,000 rounds of

:01:59. > :02:06.40 calibre ammunition for the two globgz in his possession and 300

:02:06. > :02:10.rounds for the 12-gauge shotgun. It's still a missary where he --

:02:10. > :02:14.why he carried out such a brutal attack. The shooting affected a

:02:14. > :02:18.huge number of people in the small community. This is the first chance

:02:18. > :02:21.they've had to come together and there was a sense of shock, a lack

:02:21. > :02:28.of understanding, as to why such an awful thing could happen here to

:02:28. > :02:30.them. One of the main opposition groups in Syria, the Muslim

:02:30. > :02:33.Brotherhood, says the State's authority is collapsing, but it's

:02:33. > :02:36.calling for restraint on all sides. There are reports of clashes

:02:36. > :02:41.between Syrian troops and rebels in the northern city of Aleppo, as

:02:41. > :02:44.seen in this unverified footage. While in Damascus, the Government

:02:44. > :02:47.says its forces have now regained control of parts of the capital,

:02:47. > :02:55.that had been occupied by opposition fighters. Live now to

:02:55. > :03:01.our correspondent, Wyre Davies, who's on the Turkey-Syria border.

:03:01. > :03:05.What's emerging about the balance of power in Syria today? There's

:03:05. > :03:10.not much fighting going on in the heat of the day. It's almost too

:03:10. > :03:15.hot, but overnight there were heavy clashes in Damascus and also in the

:03:15. > :03:20.city of Aleppo where the regime has been hitting back with heavy

:03:20. > :03:26.artillery to reverse some of the gains made by the opposition in

:03:26. > :03:30.recent days. There is a lot of concern here in neighbouring

:03:30. > :03:39.countries We seem to have a slight problem with the satellite feed

:03:39. > :03:42.there on the border there. Rescue teams are searching for a 16-year-

:03:42. > :03:46.old boy who was swept out to sea off the coast of Aberdeenshire. The

:03:46. > :03:48.teenager disappeared in the waters of Banff Bay in the early hours of

:03:48. > :03:50.the morning after playing with two friends there. Coastguards,

:03:50. > :03:54.lifeboat crews and an RAF helicopter are involved in the

:03:54. > :03:58.search. After being seen by some ten million people since it arrived

:03:58. > :04:08.in the UK in May, the Olympic Torch has now started its first full day
