:00:21. > :00:25.Good afternoon. Syrian opposition activists claim at least 200 bodies

:00:25. > :00:29.have been found in the town of Daraya, on the outskirts of the

:00:29. > :00:32.capital, Damascus. They say most appear to have been

:00:32. > :00:40.executed. Let's speak to our correspondent Barbara Plett, who is

:00:40. > :00:45.in Beirut. What evidence is there to suggest a

:00:45. > :00:49.massacre has taken place? It is impossible to confirm this

:00:49. > :00:53.independently, but it fits a pattern of what we have been

:00:53. > :01:00.hearing of government attacks against rebel-held areas in

:01:00. > :01:05.Damascus. It bombards the area heavily, then send in ground troops.

:01:05. > :01:09.When the locals go back in, the report finding bodies. Opposition

:01:09. > :01:14.activists say most of these bodies were found in basements or

:01:14. > :01:20.buildings, they appear to have been killed execution style. There have

:01:20. > :01:25.been some videos posted of bodies lined up in a mosque. If this

:01:25. > :01:30.number is correct, 200, it would be the largest a trusted reported so

:01:30. > :01:35.far. The government has not denied any charges, it says it has

:01:35. > :01:41.purified the area of armed terrorist elements, its name for

:01:41. > :01:51.rebels. It seems to be employing overwhelming force for a definitive

:01:51. > :01:58.

:01:58. > :02:01.defeat against the rebels. But the rebels are adopting mobile tactics.

:02:01. > :02:04.The Duke of Edinburgh has joined the royal family for morning

:02:04. > :02:07.service at Crathie Kirk near Balmoral. It was the first public

:02:07. > :02:10.appearance by the Prince, after spending five nights in hospital

:02:10. > :02:13.earlier this month in Aberdeen, being treated for a bladder

:02:13. > :02:15.infection. Our correspondent Colin Wight is at Crathie Kirk. Many

:02:15. > :02:18.well-wishers were out to see him this morning. Yes, quite a large

:02:18. > :02:23.turnout from the public and the press, as the Duke of Edinburgh

:02:23. > :02:29.arrived this morning, hoping to catch a glimpse. He arrived here at

:02:29. > :02:35.Crathie Kirk half an hour ago. Preceded by Prince Charles, Camilla,

:02:35. > :02:40.the Queen with the Duke of Edinburgh, and after that, the

:02:40. > :02:46.Count and Countess of Wessex. We caught a glimpse of him, it is hard

:02:46. > :02:56.to say how he was. He looked well enough. He will be enjoying the

:02:56. > :02:56.

:02:56. > :03:00.surroundings in Balmoral. He will be in church this morning. The Duke

:03:00. > :03:05.of Edinburgh has made his first public appearance. He will be

:03:05. > :03:14.appearing again we pursue this coming Saturday, depending on how

:03:14. > :03:17.his health is. Roman Catholic priests have read out a letter in

:03:17. > :03:20.each of the Church's parishes in Scotland this morning, criticising

:03:20. > :03:22.the Scottish government for its intention to introduce gay marriage.

:03:22. > :03:25.The Church has declared today National Marriage Sunday. Here's

:03:25. > :03:29.our religious affairs correspondent, Robert Pigott.

:03:29. > :03:33.Last week, the Roman Catholic leader in Scotland escalated the

:03:33. > :03:37.dispute about gay marriage by publicly snubbing the First

:03:37. > :03:42.Minister Alex Salmond. Today, Cardinal O'Brien has circulated a

:03:42. > :03:47.letter to all 500 Roman Catholic parishes in Scotland, a further

:03:47. > :03:57.sign he is ready to recruit the Church rank and file in a political

:03:57. > :04:16.

:04:16. > :04:19.campaign. The letter from all of The Church has declared today

:04:19. > :04:22.National Marriage Sunday, and announced the launch of a National

:04:22. > :04:26.Commission for marriage in the family to co-ordinated campaign

:04:26. > :04:31.against same-sex marriage. It appealed to Roman Catholics to take

:04:31. > :04:35.action against the introduction of gay marriage. The Scottish

:04:35. > :04:39.Government said creating same-sex marriage was the right thing to do,

:04:39. > :04:45.and it would proceed. But it stressed no clergy would be forced

:04:45. > :04:51.to carry them out. Cardinal O'Brien who, in March, described gay

:04:51. > :04:55.marriage as a grotesque sub version, is showing that he is determined to

:04:55. > :04:58.do whatever it takes to prevent the legislation succeeding.

:04:58. > :05:00.Olympic organisers say they're doing more than ever to provide

:05:00. > :05:03.access for disabled people to the Paralympics in London, following

:05:03. > :05:06.criticism that wheelchair users face extra charges for calling a

:05:06. > :05:14.phone line, to get tickets. This morning, the Culture Secretary

:05:14. > :05:19.Jeremy Hunt defended the arrangements.

:05:19. > :05:24.What has happened is that we set up a special line so that people who

:05:24. > :05:28.have particular issues about how they attend the Games, have a

:05:28. > :05:33.dedicated line they can call. We want that to work as effectively as
